Charming Headcanons Pt.1

Earnest Charming

He's a senior at Ever After High, so he already signed the book.

He's supposed to be Prince Charming in The Little Mermaid, the opposite of what his father told him.

Like Daring, he had his whole life set up for him. He knew who he was supposed to be, and he was in tune with it.

He is three years older than Elegant and five years older than Errant, making him the oldest sibling and one of the oldest cousins of the Charming clan.

He's at the top of most classes, including Heroics, but could do better with alchemy.

Allergic to goose down feathers, a shame his mother loves to use them as throw pillows.

His father had him believe he would play a role in Beauty and the Beast. He was raised to become the Beast.

His roommate is Alfonse LeFleur, who his father chose so Earnest could hone his destiny and become the greatest.

Like Daring, he is also pressured to make the Charming family proud.

At home during the summer, Earnest sneaks into the stables to take care of his horse, Sir Lancelot, as it gives him time to think and slow down.

Elegant Charming

She has only ever known to sit still and look pretty while waiting for a prince. But she doesn't hate it.

She trusts the life path her parents chose for her and has no qualms about it. She would rather go with the flow than cause trouble going against the grain, as long as her family is happy then she is happy.

Elegant, being not only a girl but the middle child, is often overlooked compared to her brothers, which has aided her mindset.

Like Apple and Raven, she's a sophomore at Ever After High but hides away in the shadows. "A princess is to be seen and not heard," her father says.

She disagrees with Darling, going against the grain and causing more trouble for herself, but she won't say anything about it. Instead, she tags along to ensure Darling is okay, but definitely not because she also wants to get out of those stuffy gowns.

In the winter, Elegant likes to bake cookies for her family. Specifically her parents and her brothers.

She thinks she's better than everyone else. While her cousins complain and whine, she's mastered staying silent.

She screams into her pillows at night.

When her parents focus more on her older brother, she is left to care for Errant because they "can't be bothered" to look after their second son.

Errant Charming

He is the most outgoing kid at his elementary school. Everyone there knows his name.

When his sister puts little notes in his lunches, he stashes them all in a collection hidden under his bed; when he's sad, he rereads them all to feel better.

He knows when Earnest lets him win while they're playing swords, but he doesn't say anything because he knows it makes his brother happy to assume that Errant thinks he's winning.

Errant doesn't care about legacies. His sister inadvertently taught him that.

Most of his friends in elementary school are girls. The boys in his class are bigger and stronger than him and sometimes pick on him. His mother incessantly teases him about his friends.

When he has a nightmare, he runs to Earnest's room and wakes him up, much to his brother's dismay. Then Elegant and Earnest sneak into the kitchen with him to make hot cocoa.

Sometimes, at the Charming Family Ball, Errant wants to sit with his sister and wait to be rescued; running around all day gets tiring, and he can't keep up with his cousins, especially Daring.

Errant once did a family tree project for school. He wrote an optional paper in which he talked about his brother and sister for two pages. But he'll never show it to them because he's embarrassed.

I think a lot about Leo standing up for his brothers in the things that really matter to them.

Like- Leo is the one who immediately pushes Mikey and Donnie into finding Raph the second it’s clear that their oldest brother is missing because he knows Raph can’t handle being separated like that.

Leo is the one who stands up for Mikey when Mikey wants to go on a solo mission, actively vouching for him and being the one to convince Raph into letting Mikey go, because being independent and proving himself just as capable of standing on his own two feet as everyone else means so much to Mikey.

And Leo defends Donnie’s honor in particular when his brothers’ intelligence is insulted because Leo is well aware of how important Donnie’s smarts are to him - and how important having those smarts valued and acknowledged is as well.

All this goes right into just how well Leo knows his brothers. For as much as he’ll tease or fight with them, he knows them, and he loves them.

First of all, the Charming families have different names to be more easily identified, previously colours were used, for example: Blue Charmings, Green Charmings, Purple Charmings… BUT there are a few exceptions to this: The ‘Main’ Charming Family The Blue Charming and several not so well known Charming families so as not to lose their ‘Charming identity’ ☝️🗣️

There is a Charming branch that are named the same as the most important Families, but are not related, these are called ‘Charming Copy’ 🤓☝️

We now move on to the top 5 Charmings and their respective coat of arms. 1.- Blue Charmings

Are not very different from those in the series, they are mainly in the top 1 because of their popularity. The other Familiar Charming's honest opinion of them: They are unfunny basics. Blue Charmings answer: . . .

2.- Charmflowers

They are exceptional hunters and tactical planners, with very strong values, heroic deeds are important, but good manners and humility are also important ☝️ let's say they are the Charming family that is more attached to the concept of ‘Being a true Charming’.

3.- Drache

They stand out in the magical field having in their lineage the most powerful wizards/witches of all fairy tales🤓🤓.

Although their appearance may be a bit off-putting because of their horns, they are still a kind of Charming. Most of its members are part of the Magicians' Guild 🧙 Another thing they are known for is dating villains.

Also if you compare Hermione to a character like Annabeth functionally they have the same role within the story. They are there to drive the plot and be a walking encyclopedia for the reader/main character. And yet where Hermione gets shoved aside and all the cool shit she does happens in the background you get Annabeth doing badass shit right up front. Like, if Annabeth did any of the shit Hermione did it wouldn't be brushed off the way it was. If Annabeth made her family forget her, turned someone into a bug and trapped them in a jar, knitted hats to free elves, any of that shit then Percy would be beside her 100% he would be in awe and absolutely terrified at her power and dedication. But what we get from Harry basically amounts to "Thanks nerd. Anyways, what's my next task?"

Charming Family Headcanons:

(This is important: NOT ALL CHARMING FAMILIES ARE RELATED!! It's like having the last name Smith. It's a common name, and they're all used as stock characters so fairytales can have children and carry on their legacies. So, Apple, Daring, and all the other characters with Prince Charming dads aren't related. Let's put this whole debate to rest, please.)

The Charming Kingdom is more of a federation. There are hundreds of small Charming kingdoms spread out across the Fairytale World. King Charming is the high king.

King Charming was the second son in his family line and thus didn’t know what his destiny was (if he had one at all). When he was destined to carry on the Charming name, he vowed to make them the greatest Charmings ever after.

His father and elder brother inherited the destiny of the legendary hero Siegfried. His relationship with his brother was very similar to Dexter and Daring's relationship.

King Charming’s name is Forthright. His wife’s name is Felicity.

Forthright has five younger siblings: Faithful, Favorite, Fastidious, Fortunate, and Fairest. His older brother is named Sigmund.

Felicity came from a Charming family close to the Sea Kingdom.

Forthright ignores Dexter for a number of reasons. He sees how he was in Dexter and resents him for it. He tries to live through Daring because he has the most potential. When he does pay attention to him, he tries to toughen Dexter up to be better, just like his father had done for him.

Darling takes more after her mother than she realizes. Felicity had once dreamed of becoming a sea captain and had a fascination with Neverland, but she had to "give that up" to follow her destiny.

All three of the Charming siblings have a complicated relationship with their parents, especially after graduation:

Daring had received their praise his whole life. When he found out he wasn’t Apple’s Prince, he was terrified of losing their love because he wasn’t their perfect little prince anymore. When he finally saw his siblings being emotionally beaten down by them, he realized all of their love had been transactional. He tried to make it work with his parents because he loved them and wasn't ready to lose their approval. But even after coming to terms with his destiny as the Beast, his parents (mostly his father) still wouldn't budge. He realizes his parents' obsession with image and status was more important than their own views on destiny.

Dexter received the most blatant abuse. Having been constantly compared to his brother, gaslit into believing he would never be good enough, and nearly embracing that sentiment, he nearly lost all of his confidence. As he started dating Raven, he regained that confidence and started to feel good about himself. When his parents finally found out about their relationship and tried to break them up, Dexter finally snapped and cut all contact with them.

Darling, being the only girl, was scrutinized over her looks and behavior every minute of every day. She got into the most fights with her parents when she was a kid, but she realized she would never change their minds. And being locked in a tower for a good chunk of her childhood didn't help either. She resorted to being sneaky, working out physically and mentally, so she could escape one day.

Forthright’s parents, siblings, and their families all live in Charming Castle with his immediate family. They all silently hate each other.

Both parents want what’s best for their family. But while Forthright seeks to maintain the family image, Felicity is genuinely looking out for her children in a misguided manner.

Forthright and Felicity’s marriage was arranged.

The Charming parents are high-paying donors to Ever After High and are Heads of the Heirs and Teacher Association.

They frequently hold parties to make political alliances. Their children are not excluded from this. Daring was 6 and Dexter and Darling were 5 when they went to their first ball.

Forthright is still secretly in love with Goldilocks.

Forthright "fell out of touch" with Pinocchio. In his younger years, he might have rekindled their friendship. But he sees the Woods too far beneath him now.

Felicity is secretly friends with Maid Marian.

Daring and Dexter became really close with Apple after she started dating Darling. Darling, Raven, and Rosabella also formed a sisterly bond. They call themselves the "Rebel Girlfriends Club."

Felicity tries to be a mediator between her husband and her children, but neither side agrees to compromise.

Lance Charming is Forthright's first cousin.

Forthright has tried to break up his children's relationships a few times. He disapproves of Rosabella because "How dare you turn my perfect son into a Beast!" He disapproves of Raven because she's "evil", and he can't have one of his children dating a villain. He doesn't disapprove of Apple, but he disapproves of her being with his daughter instead of his son.

Felicity keeps Darling on a strict diet. Darling only tasted junk food for the first time when she came to school.

In the future, Felicity would be more likely to patch things up with her children. However, Forthright has made his position clear.

Okay, we all know not to trust the EAH wiki because it has been overrun by ocs. (Which is cool, don't get me wrong, but it should have its own separate fan wiki for that lol)

But under Appearance for Queen Charming (Daring, Dexter, and Darling's mom.) It says: "As all the Charming princesses, she is blonde and has a button nose."

I really doubt all the charming princesses are blonde. Like, Darling? Well, of course, she is. We know what she looks like. The others? The cousins? They could be blonde, they could be redhead, they could be brunettes, they could have dark hair like Snow White.

The only factor is that they are pretty.

IMO, Charity is a brunette like Dexter; she gives off the Black Sheep of the Family vibes. She got a shapeshift to take on her appearance just so she didn't have to attend the Charming Family Ball. (This has nothing to do with her hair ik)

Feel free to argue otherwise. I mean, her having blonde hair or not isn't a big deal, but because we don't see her, I think it is. But that's just me.

This headcanon doesn’t really make sense, but I really like the idea of the Warren line having elemental powers in the past. So have some thoughts on that:

Canonically, P. Bowen had cryokinesis and P. Russell had pyrokinesis

Phoebe had levitation, but what if it originated from a distant ancestor? Phoebe’s power didn’t grow in that way, but that ancestor could have gone levitation -> flight -> aerokinesis?

Paige’s past life had Conjuring the Elements, and I know that the Evil Enchantress wasn’t a Warren, but the idea of retaining powers from a past life? And specifically reincarnating into the Warren line? Plus, Paige did tap into those powers when facing the Evil Enchantress so she wouldn’t have presumably lost all of them forever.

Electrokinesis feels like it’d be a fitting witch power for the Warrens. Just something about the storm-like nature of it with a family like them.

Hydrokinesis was a popular fan power for the next gen, which was more based on Logan Lerman as the Henry Jr. fancast or using the actresses in H2O as the girls though.

I don’t really anything concrete (lmao) for geokinesis, but still.

evil evil man but he can't date sb who doesn't enjoy physical affection from him because he's so damn needy. he sees his partner sitting down and he either has to be in their lap or as close to them as possible. even if he falls asleep next to his partner not cuddling, they'll still wake up with him half on top of them. kisses as greetings and goodbyes and because he's bored and yes there's a 43.25% chance he'll try to turn it into a makeout even if they're busy with something. partner is like "you're distracting me" and he's literally rubbing his face against theirs like "no i'm not." and he'll start this shit in the pre-dating """Platonic""" phase too if the person will let him and he likes them enough.
