Portrait of Charlotte of France
Artist: Jean Clouet (French, 1480–1541)
Date: c. 1522
Medium: Oil on Cradled Panel
Collection: Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
Depicted People:
Charlotte of Valois
DESCRIPTION
Princess Charlotte was the daughter of King Francis I of France, whose court was an international center for the arts. Her rich clothing and jeweled cap show her high status. Her rosary indicates that she was a devout Catholic. She was about seven years old at the time of this portrait, and she died at the age of eight. European royal families commissioned portraits of their children to record their development and often exchanged these pictures with other royal houses as a diplomatic gesture.

The Emperor's 30 Year Jubilee | Service of Thanksgiving
St. Windenburg Cathedral, Windensen, Pierreland
The nation held a Service of Thanksgiving for the Emperor to which allies and family attended.
Tumblr media
First to arrive is HM King Alexios Constantine of Greecesim with his children, TRH Crown Prince Stephanos and Princess Sofia of Greecesim. King Alexios lasted visited Pierreland as Crown Prince at the Wedding of the Emperor and Empress. However, the Emperor and Empress have visited Greecesim many times over the years, with the two nations sharing a strong naval alliance. King Alexios celebrated 10 years on the Greecesim throne, with those celebrations ending yesterday.
Tumblr media
Next to arrive is TIM Queen Vivianna II and King Phillippe of the Ionian Union. Apart of the family of Europesim, the Ionian Union has a shared history with Pierreland with a Princess of Pierreland being an ancestor of the current Queen. On a more recent and personal note, Queen Vivianna had a short relationship with Crown Prince Louis years ago but has since found happiness with the French prince. @funkyllama
Tumblr media
Rounding out the monarchs of Europesim, TIM Emperor Napoleon V and Empress Charlotte of the French arrived with the doting pair entering the cathedral. The youngest monarch, young Napoleon V none the less has inherited a strong relationship with Pierreland and even served with the Pierreland Navy for a brief joint exercise while he was a student at the Polytechnic. @empiredesimparte
Tumblr media
The start of family have arrived with HM King Henrik of Charleston and HRH Prince Michael of Charleston who is also the Grand Duke of Burgundy in Pierreland. They arrived with their children, TRH Crown Princess Aurora, Prince Damien & Princess Brigitta. The Charlestonian Royal family has spent time with members of the Pierreland Imperial family at private Imperial retreats where the reigning monarchs have be seen to take it slightly easier together over the years. @thecharlestonroyalfamily
Tumblr media
Next to arrive are TIH the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Siene. The parents of HIH Prince Anthony and HRH Crown Princess Minerva, the pair are the eldest members of the Imperial family. With some health scares over the past year, many do worry for the health of the Grand Duke and are surprised to see him at today's service.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Following the arrival of her parents, we see TRH the Crown Princess Minerva and Crown Prince Nicholas of Lunaria. Crown Princess Minerva is a beloved member of the Valois family, with her mark being made in her furthering ties with Lunaria, first as Pierreland's Ambassador to the nation but now as their Crown Princess. She comes back to Pierreland as often as her schedule allows to visit with her immediate family, her cousin the Emperor, good friend the Empress and their children. Her daughters arrived behind her, TRH Princess Alexandrine wearing blue, Princess Odessa in pink, and Princess Magdalena being accompanied by her boyfriend Prince Magnus of Argyll. Princess Magdalena has been seen in Pierreland studying at her mother's alma mater, the University of Brichester-Siene, and often in the orbit of the Scottish Prince. Princess Magdalena also has deep ties to the Imperial Family and Emperor David due to her close friendship with Crown Prince Louis since they were both toddlers. @simsroyallegacy
Tumblr media
Arriving after his younger sister, HIH the Earl of Clairvaux arrived with his husband, Lord Consort Nashville of Clairvaux. The Earl has worked as a member of the Imperial Judicial Courts for the past 20 years and often advises the Emperor on legal matters. Meanwhile the Lord Consort is a former member of the Imperial Army.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next to arrive are the members of the Scottish Royal Family, TM King Alexander III & Queen Marie Christine. Queen Marie Christine is the Emperor's younger sister and has held a deep love for her homeland and her family. The pair have ensured that their children have had exposure to both cultures with both families spending time at various royal retreats over the years. Meanwhile TRH the Duke and Duchess of Rothsey arrive, with the pair having their own unique ties to the Emperor. The pair are reportedly very well loved by the Emperor, who insisted on being their first state visit!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next to arrive are the Emperor's adoptive children, the Grand Duke of Bordeaux & Mrs. Isabella Villa, and their families. First is the Grand Duke & Grand Duchess of Bordeaux and their three children, Lord Arthur, Lord Dominque and Lady Artemis. This is followed by Mr Sebastian and Mrs. Isabella Villa along with their two sons, Arthur and Jeffery. @royalhouseofcarrington
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last to Arrive is the immediate Imperial family. HIH Crown Prince Louis was all smiles and waves as he entered wearing a light blue waist coat with his morning suit while his younger twin siblings opted to go for a dark blue approach with HIH Princess Maria Aisha forgoing a hat or fascinator on this occasion. Last to enter, were of course TIM Emperor David and Empress Katalina. The pair, who have been married for the majority of the Emperor's reign, seemed to be in as love as ever as they carried on a conversation that they were having in the car.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The service, led by the Archbishop of Windensen, spoke of servant leadership (pretty apt due to the amount of monarchs and future monarchs in the room) and prayed for the Emperor's health and peace for the Empire.

Louis XIV's Gallery of Beauties
A retexture by La Comtesse Zouboff — Original Mesh by @thejim07
This set of 20 portraits was comissioned by the king himself in the 1650s to Charles and Henri Beaubrun (except for a portrait of Henrietta Anna of England, Comissioned to Nicolas Mignard) The portraits comprises the queen, royal princesses and ladies of the court. They hanged at the king's appartments at Versailles. In the 1670s the paintings were progressively relegated to the king's minor residences, but in 1837, Louis-Philippe, King of the French turned Versailles into a museum and rejoined the paintings, in the Louis XIV Rooms, where they remain.
The set includes 20 portraits, with the original frame swatches, fully recolorable. The portraits are of:
Anne Genèvieve de Bourbon, Duchess d'Estouteville and Longueville
Françoise-Athénaïs de Rochechouart (later, Marquise de Montespan)
Anna Martonozzi, Princess of Conti
Anne Louise Boyer, Duchess of Noailles

The Highlander Exclusive: Oliver At 25
HRH Prince Oliver of the Scots, Duke of Rothsey has been seen more on the world stage recently with the news of his engagement to HIH Madame Hortense of Francesim (@empiredesimparte) and year abroad taking a certification course at the Ecole de Polytechnic in Paris with the French Army. Known as Gàrlach or Little Rouge by the family, let's look back on the future King's first 25 years.
Who is the Duke of Rothsey
Tumblr media
Born Oliver Alexander David James on 15 May 1999 at St Mary's Hospital in Glasgow, Scots to the then Duke and Duchess of Rothsey. Oliver was the long awaited for child of the Scots-Pierreland Union and was the cause for national rejoicing as the next generation of the royal line was secured.

The young prince was given a very sheltered and quiet childhood, with his parents deciding to raise him alongside his paternal cousin for most of the year and then spending his summers with his maternal cousins.
Tumblr media
(Above: Princes Oliver & Magnus as children at Gleanalmond Academy) Oliver attended the Co-Ed boarding school Gleanalmond Academy with his cousin, Prince Magnus of Argyll. There the Princes grew a close circle of friends filled with the children of other nobles and politicians, with the circle being known for it's vow of silence in terms of speaking about the young princes.
Little is known about his teenage love life, it is rumored that Prince Oliver had one serious girlfriend for a year who was introduced by a friend. However, his life and role changed on the death of his grandfather, King James XX.

At the age of 15, Oliver became the heir to the throne and invested as the Duke of Rothsey. The young heir continued with his schooling and his summers with his Pierreland relations, where he enjoyed sailing with his Uncle David and playing music with his cousin Edmund.

At 18, Prince Oliver attended the University of Saint Andrews, gaining a 4 year degree in Political Science before attending the Scots Military Academy (SMA) Officer Training Course. Upon finishing the course, he joined the Royal Household Cavalry Blues & Royals with his cousin Prince Magnus.

Prince Oliver also did a year of cross training with the Royal Navy & Royal Air Force, gaining his pilot's wings. Prince Oliver then took the suggestion of his Uncle David and signed up for certification course at the Ecole de Polytechnic.
Francesim Era
Tumblr media
(Above: Oliver meeting HIM Napoleon IV in Versailles at the start of his time in Francesim)
Prince Oliver's time in Francesim was mainly spent at the Ecole Polytechnique, where he supposedly mainly spent time with the then Princess Hortense of Francesim. Oliver was often seen in the company of the young French beauty, the two often seen in the library together with the Prince helping with scientific concepts while the young Princess assisting the Scot with writing in the much more formal French prose. Prince Oliver was a pillar of strength to the Simparte siblings following the death of Napoleon IV. There are stills from the funeral where Oliver introduces Hortense to his parents, showing the strength of their relationship at that point.

After Francesim & Relationship with Hortense of Francesim
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Above: Oliver and Hortense attending events together such has the reception for the Wedding of Napoleon V & Empress Charlotte (left) as well as the Investiture of Crown Prince Louis of Pierreland (right)) The pair conducted much of their relationship over long distance, with the pair flying back and forth between Edinburgh & Paris to conduct engagements and support each other. This culminated in the pair announcing their engagement, with their wedding to take place after the Coronation of Napoleon V.
Tumblr media
(Above: Never before seen image of Prince Oliver & Madame Hortense taken by a friend)
The pair is looking to split their time between Paris and Fort Collins, to fit with Oliver's military life and Hortense's continued studies post marriage.
