okay so obvs the knarlie tag is relatively rare and there's not a whole lot of new content coming out. i finally decided to stop being pissed off about the specific content i wanted to consume being nonexistent and to actually do smth about it - alongside the other 3+ knarlie projects i have on the go. one is a chatfic i have a very busy cowriter for, one is a pride and prejudice au which i wasn't quite in the mood for, and the other is an angsty pining college/living together au - not quite what i felt like writing.
while looking for inspiration i felt like something fluffy, something friends-to-lovers ish, possibly something fantasy esque but also something that upholds the boarding school, so perusing various prompt and trope masterlists wasn't exactly helping. i decided to just open a blank doc and begin typing to see where my brain would lead me. and tell me why it went straight to something that somehow fits all my requirements but also matches the projects i always seem to have in every other fandom:
somehow we (read: i) always end up here
#insert 'its because we have no other choice' supernatural gif#i have no idea how big this project is gonna be but lore is starting to shape up#my other main projects are literally a huge cursed child continuation and a stranger things hogwarts au#i am actually not original#but this is fun and fluffy and i'm liking it so far so lets see where this baby takes me#knarlie#dead poets society#dps#dps boys#charlie dalton#knox overstreet#knox x charlie#neil perry#todd anderson#steven meeks#gerard pitts#richard cameron#dead poets#ao3#fanfiction#wip#current wip#wip wednesday#anderperry#mitts#ive recently stumbled onto actively reading mitts and the grip they have on me is immense#not as much as the otehrs but they do be cuties#everyone is gay#someone validate me#should i make this a big au

i bought the dead poets society book recently and received it two days ago. i just finished reading it, so here are some thoughts!
in my humble opinion, the movie is better. some of the most important, inspiring and touching scenes felt a bit . . . dull, in the book. the little spark that i feel while watching dps wasn’t always there, but that’s okay, i guess. some of them were different, shorter. that was to be expected, though.
some of the most offensive scenes that were (rightfully) cut from the movie are in the book, like at chet’s party with knox and chris, when he SA her, or the one that has one ugly purpose: sexualizing women, where john shows pictures of women barely clothed while the students are taking a test (to see if they will be able to concentrate in class, in college, even with women around). yikes. so . . reading that made me uncomfortable.
BUT! there are some precious, funny, and great moments that were not included in the movie, and reading that gave me the biggest boost of serotonin ever. okay, it’s mostly charlie goofing around, but i love him, so that’s probably why it made me so happy..! and ginny!! what a cutie.
i cried, at the end, obviously. the moment where todd is defending mr. keating in mr. nolan’s office broke my heart. “but . . . teaching is his life! it means everything to him!” “what do you care?” “what do you care about me? he cares about me! you don’t!”
although we can clearly see it in the movie, i feel like the book showed how in love todd was with neil more. just the little descriptions of his feelings when they’re talking. dialogue that wasn’t in the movie. when they’re rehearsing for neil’s play together! he knew him more than anyone else did, maybe except for charlie. “someone has to know it was his father! neil wouldn’t kill himself! he loved living!” he cried. or when they’re fighting with cameron after he told mr. nolan everything (always had mixed feelings about that) and he says, “that’s not true! mr. keating didn’t tell neil what to do. neil loved acting.” and cameron replies with, “believe what you want.” that, to me, was the perfect proof that todd and neil had a special bond they didn’t share with the rest of the poets. just like a couple has a bond they don’t share with their group of friends, you know?
overall, i enjoyed the book, mostly because i love reading and i love dead poets society, so this was like my two worlds colliding. i recommend it! i found it on a site that sold it for less than ten dollars, so it’s definitely worth it.

Go ahead and ramble/lore dump/give some fun facts about any/all of your ocs!
Ok were just gonna pick out some of my favorites, because I've been writing since middle school, lol.
Oc's created with @vincent-sinclair-deserved-better @myers-meadow @animegoddexx @charliedawn @iloveslasher @howl-fantasies @keffirinne
Frances Lecter:
Frances is my self insert I’m writing with the lovely Meadow. It’s the first Poly relationship I’ve ever written and I’m obsessed with that. Who wouldn’t want to be married to Hannibal and this cutie? Frances was a professional Ballerina, but is now a humble dance teacher. But they love the job, and they love their partners. They’re a little accident prone, but they have people who protect them. Their friendship with William is everything!
Newton Lecter:
Newt was originally just a self insert because I was enjoying Charlie’s Hannibal series so much. But thanks to the encouragement of my followers they’ve become so much more. They’re slowly becoming a real part of the Hannibal activities and it’s so fun to watch. I love a corruption trope.
Blinky Firefly:
Blinky my sweet sweet baby! They’re easily my most fun OC. But also one of my saddest. Since they belong to the House of 1000 Corpses universe, I decided to challenge myself and cover darker topics in this series. Despite all the hard times though, they don’t let it get them down! They love clowns and circus stuff and little trinkets. But more importantly, they love their family. One of the only reasons they’ll life their knife to kill, is for them. They’re a sweet little thing and I love them.
Harmony Dwyer:
She was one of my first OC’s and for my very first special interest. She’s Bella swans younger half sibling and has autism. But she doesn’t know it yet. She’s super smart for her age, having moved up a grade in school. Harmony is very awkward, but she’s good company. Her best friends are a vampire and werewolf that are dating. And she’s the descendent of her vampire best friends soulmate who everyone thinks is dead. I love her so so much, and I need to write more for her.
Scorpius Brooks:
I’ve barely written for him yet but he’s my favourite in my Marvel series so far. He’s a vampire who’s also a vampire hunter. He loves morbid jokes and is hopeless at flirting. But he’s an excellent fighter and would kill for his loved ones. None of this stupid “hero’s aren’t killers shit” he’ll gladly claim the title Anti-hero!
Magnolia Blossom:
Maggie is my Gotham oc, from the Gotham TV series. She started as a way to appreciate Howl's OC, and slowly, well Blossomed. I adore her! She has a big heart and really just wants to help people, but she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty to get what she wants or protect her family. A very good girl! With so many secrets!
Morrigan West-Todd:
Little Mo is the best! She’s only 14 at the start of the series but she grows up so quickly. I guess anyone would living in Gotham. She’s actually from out universe, similar to my friends OC’s she randomly shifted to Gotham and now she’s stuck. But she didn’t really want to go home anyways. Why would she, she has a new family here that loves and adores her. And she has powers here, she’s much stronger than she ever would be in our world. She’s a tough cookie.
Macy Love-Hewitt:
Macy 😍 she’s just so good! She may be related to Thomas Hewitt, but she has Bo Sinclair’s personality, and the flirting skills of Jennifer Check. She a bad ass Cannibal Mechanic and we Stan. She hates everyone but her Girlfriend and her family, and won’t take shit from anyone. She may have a bit of a short temper, but she makes up for it by being tender to her loved ones.

hello sunshine🙃 could I get a ship (only if you have time ofc!)? I’m 5,7” and I have a tan skin, my hair is dark brown and wavy. I’m really not pretty lol, but anyways I’m very introvert, I have a lot of trouble socializing so I don’t have a lot of friends. I’m an hard worker and as I don’t go out and stuff it gives me time to study consequently I have great grades. I adore reading especially classic litterature (novels, poetry...). I hope I wasn’t too long and boring. Have a good day💛
Hey!!! I’m 100% sure you’re gorgeous, don’t you dare say something like that about yourself! You seem like such a precious bean I just want to hold you rn hafdhgjdh, seriously, It wasn’t long or boring AT ALL, you’re such a cutie and I’m going to have so much fun doing this! Have a GREAT day, sweetie
I was initially thinking Charlie because I thought the difference of personalities would really work, his extroversion helping you come out of your shell and I just think you both would have a lot of fun overall! Still, I believe Knox would be a better choice for some unknown reason, I just feel like you two would be the supreme couple lmao. (ps: wellton is a school for both boys and girls here, i think it would make it more interesting fjdkgj)
The first time you locked eyes, he would be over the moon. To him, he had just seen the most beautiful girl on earth, one with sun-kissed skin and chocolate-colored wavy locks that seemed like they were painted with the most careful strokes. He wouldn’t really approach you at first, he couldn’t really, his heart was beating way too fast and he knew that if he opened his mouth he would stumble all over his words.
You both had some classes together, you normally sat in front of him. He would never take his eyes off of you, sometimes he would scribble your back on his notebook, never failing to be scolded by the teacher.
One day, before class started, he left a note on your desk, with his phone number and a short poem, basically asking you out. Later that day, he waited patiently by the telephone, waiting for your call. As soon as the phone rang, he picked it up immediately, taken by surprise for a soft voice, he had never heard you before.
He would take you to the park on your first date. He was a bit late because he had stopped at the supermarket to get some bread to feed the ducks. You were sitting on the grass while suddenly you turn around to see a tall boy going as fast as he could on an old bike.
“Sorry I’m late, I was just-” he held the bag of bread up panting, forehead in sweat. He looked at you, starstuck to see you out of the school uniform.
The rest of the day was spent sitting by the lake, under a tree. You talked about everything, your interests, dreams, hopes, passions, just life in general. You just felt comfortable around him and weren’t afraid of judgement.
He confessed to you that day, and you both started going out regularly.
After you started dating, I can see him helping you study and with schoolwork, so you wouldn’t work that hard. He didn’t want you spend the whole day in, so he would always find an interesting to do and get you out of your room.
You loved reading classic literature to him, you teached him all about Byron, Keats, Whitman... Even if he sometimes found it a bit boring, he loved hearing your voice so he would never ask you to stop.
He would be so in love, honestly. Knox acts out of impulses and when he wants something, he really wants it so I can see him being so infatuated with you it hurt. He loved seeing you smile, laugh, just be. He would never shut up about how much he loved you, it got annoying.
He introduced you to the dps, something which you were a bit unsure of at first. However, they welcomed you with a huge smile on their faces and you all got along pretty well. They helped you come out of your shell, just like they did with Todd, and be more sure of yourself!
You all had a study group and besides Meeks, you’re were the go-to person for help with any subject. You found it cute how clueless they were about some topics and every study group had a moment of laughter, maybe because Charlie would accidentaly ruin Pitts’ science project or because Neil just started reciting Shakespeare out of nowhere.
I hope you liked this, I listened to the stone roses while writing, you just reminded me of their song “I wanna be adored”. Thank you so much for requesting, honey
