I’m not going to engage with the original post because I don’t want to derail things and because the underlying politics are not something I have context for, but can we please retire the exhausting notion that holidays with an explicitly and overtly religious origin — especially a religion like xtianity that’s been so aggressively proselytic — are secular?
Tumblr media
I’m sorry. You may choose to celebrate them from a secular standpoint, but their existence is part of xtian hegemony and cultural dominance. Everyone’s personal experience is different, but there are so many people in minority groups who have felt pressured to join in these supposedly-secular celebrations or had our lack of celebrating them weaponised against us that it’s important to acknowledge where they actually came from and why treating them as secular (and therefore othering — or worse! — those who don’t want to engage) is inherently problematic.

I always reblog this sort of post because they make me bang my head into the wall — not the post, but the underlying premise.
I’m a bigger girl — in the interests of corset-related subjects, my bra size is somewhere in the 38HH range. I have also worn corsets and bodices aplenty in the course of reenactment and cosplay, almost all of which I’ve made to my own measurements. And that’s the critical point: if it fits you right and your goal isn’t tightlacing, these garments can actually be more comfortable than modern bras, especially ill-fitting ones (loose bands, for example). My shoulders hurt less after a day in a corset most of the time.
And yeah, there are going to be some limitations. It’s harder to bend when you’ve got boning around your torso. But you can address a lot by just moving in different ways, especially once you know the limits. I think my favourite was the time I rolled in corset and ankle boots (and associated cosplay) and popped back up without a problem at the end. I’ve driven several hours in one, and it’s a little awkward because of posture but hardly impossible. I’ve gotten friends into and out of their outfits while wearing my underpinnings before. Hell, I’ve tied up my own back-lacing corsetry because I couldn’t get anyone to help at the time.
tl;dr give me boob support or give me pain. I know which one I’m choosing.
(Also, related pet peeve: the whole “I can’t breathe in a corset, so I will faint/swoon/cut myself out of it” bullshit? May I introduce you to literally decades of opera singers??? *quietly screaming*)
You know my favorite bits in period dramas are the ones where the heroine is “not like other girls” and chooses not to wear a corset because let’s be real, no inteligent woman in a period drama setting would do that.
And then you can tell it was written by someone without a chest because next thing you know, they’ll be running off across a field or something.
Like girl, you just took off the only breast support you had, and now you’re sprinting across a field?? How is this not an issue??
And then they’re like “I’m a woman of science” but clearly no, because any woman who knows anything about weight distribution wouldn’t choose to fling off their corset whilst still wearing a poofy skirt. Like it’s there for a reason. It distributes the weight and keeps your 50 lbs of skirts from digging into your bare skin. And I cannot stress this strongly enough, IT SUPPORTS THE BUST. WHAT ARE YOU DOING. I’ll make an exception if they’re dressing as a man or have anything gender going on, but otherwise, WHAT ARE YOU DOING??
And then they say it’s because they’re painful or that they’re “instruments of the patriarchy”, except no they fucking weren’t, men wore corsets too, they were literally just bust support and historical corsets didn’t hurt, because they were made to fit your body, and they actually molded to fit it more the more you wore them. I know, I have multiple.
And if you think one couldn’t breathe, yes you could, people wore corset like garments for like 500 years, you think they would wear them if they couldn’t breathe? And no they didn’t lace them tightly except for special occasions and that was only a few people. In fact for most of history, it was physically impossible to lace boned garments any tighter then they were supposed to go because metal eyelets weren’t invented yet. You achieved the small waist look by padding out your hips and maybe your chest and sleeves creating an optical illusion

hiii can i request a silly little scene i have in my head? ok so!
alastor x wife! reader- theyve been together since they were alive, legit partners in crime they both encouraged eachother to kill and when they reunited in hell after around 8 years they were independent once again UNTIL They got in trouble with Lilith and she took reader to be like her slave until Alastor finished helping Charie with her dream (until he helped prove that demons can be redeemed) so they didnt see each other for another 7 years (his absence)
And all throughout the first season hes like “I miss my wife, Husk. I miss her a lot” (while drunk-) like that one sonic dub meme and starts shaping his shadow creature into reader and talking to it and everyone is like “m yep he’s officially lost it.”
BUT then Sir Pentious is redeemed and Lilith sees and shes like “damn :/“ and send reader to the new hotel via portal and reader just. falls on the ground in front of the big entrance and everyone hears it and they rush out and Alastor is quiet, wide eyed and reader goes smth like “i know- i shouldnt have accepted it in your name but-“ blah blah she rambles on about it and Alastor just goes “Youre as beautiful as the day I los you.” LIKE THAT HEARYBREAKING SCENE FROM HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 ;-; and everyone reacts in their own way
I REALLY NEED THIS BUT I LACK THE ABILITIES TO DO IT HEEELP (love u)
A/N oh bestie,, i got you. I was actually planning on something similar where Alastor was getting drunk at a bar and talking about the love of his life (I'm still gonna write that one too but I really like this prompt!!) You guys really come up with the best requests, please keep sending them in.

Alastor and Y/n, partners in crime, the fuel and the fire. On a first glance, it would be assumed she was his fuel, the coal and dry leaves he fed himself by. Once anyone got to know them -- and god, what trouble a person was in if they got to know them -- they quickly realized it was the other way around.
Hand in hand from day one, from childhood. Running from the cops, washing the blood off one another's faces. In the living world and life after death, nothing could tear them apart. He was the soil she planted herself in, he was her rock and Y/n? Well she was Alastor's everything. He'd do anything at all for her, all she had to do was ask.
For a decade, they terrified the living world. They were the reason to double check the lock on the door before bed, they were the ominous shadow at the corner. When cold death wrapped them in his reckless grasp, they turned their terror on Hell.
The pair made a name for themselves quickly, filling up the airwaves and making waves in the underworld. For generations, they reigned supreme. For generations, they knew no fear. Then one day, they simply disappeared.
When Alastor reappeared on the streets seven years later without his shadow, the town was alight with gossip. No one knew where he had been, where she still was, or why he had returned but Alastor quickly rebuilt his operation, setting up shop at Lucifer's daughter's Hazbin Hotel along with several of the souls he owned.
The hotel's other residents and workers were distrustful of the man, to say the least. He was shifty, wore a constant smile, and rumors circled around him like birds of prey. That was until about three months into his stay, at least.
Angel hadn't meant to eavesdrop. He'd been coming down to the bar for a drink and a rant of his own when he'd heard the familiar, crackling voice of the Hotel's host.
"I just... I miss her so much, Husk."
He sounded sad, utterly dejected. Angel crouched down on the staircase, hiding his slim body behind one of the ornate posts supporting the railing.
"You keep saying that but do nothing to go find her. She disappeared the same time as you, you know." came Husk's gruff reply.
"I know she did."
"You keep saying that, acting like you know something. Admit it: you don't know shit, Alastor."
Alastor's radio waves faltered, squeaking slightly. Angel tensed in terror, wondering if he'd been found out. This was clearly a private conversation, and the Radio Demon was testy at the best of times. Right now he seemed positively furious.
"Don't test me, Husk." Alastor said after a moment, breaking the tense silence, "She... we both got roped into something. I am doing my part, she is doing hers."
Angel straightened himself up, deciding it was high time he entered the room. He still wanted that drink, after all. He let his feet fall heavily on the stairs, alerting the others to his presence. Husk turned toward the sound, meeting Angel's eyes as he entered the bar. Alastor, on the other hand, kept his back to the spider demon.
Taking a seat beside Alastor, Husk immediately poured Angel a drink and slid it across the counter towards him.
"So, tough night, Smiles?" Angel asked, turning to Alastor who downed the rest of his drink in a single gulp.
"I don't know what you're talking about, my good fellow." Alastor hummed in response.
There was a threat in his voice, but Angel could tell the demon's heart wasn't in it. Everything was just, odd.
"Yeah... sure..." Angel scoffed, taking a sip of his own drink.
"Radio man was crying to me about his wife five seconds ago." Husk grumbled and Angel's eyes went wide.
"You have a wife?" he asked, turning back to Alastor, "I mean, I get it. I'm in to the whole 'tall dark and creepy' thing too but, you care about someone? I don’t know if I can see it.”
Alastor's eyes narrowed as he turned on Husk. The cat demon rolled his eyes in a brazen display of disrespect. He knew his master well, knew this was the only thing he had any leverage with the man on. With a deep breath, Alastor placed his hands firmly on the bar top and pulled himself to his feet. Not saying another word, he disappeared into his shadows.
That had been the first odd occurrence. Of course Angel had told Charlie and Charlie had told everyone, had even approached Alastor about it. The Radio Demon brushed it all off with skill and for a while, things were quiet.
About a month later, the second strange thing began happening. Alastor had always had a certain sway over shadows, everyone knew that. However, he very rarely used them, brought them out if it wasn't to hide him or take him where he needed to be. Then, suddenly, one began to follow him.
"Uh, Alastor?" Charlie had timidly approached him the first time she saw this happening.
"Yes, Charlie my dear?" Alastor asked, turning to face her as he tossed his microphone in the air, catching it neatly in the center of the stand.
"Well, we were just wondering if everything was... okay?" she asked, her hands behind her back and a pointed gaze on the shadow.
"If everything..." Alastor trailed off, following the path of Charlie's gaze and realizing what was going on, "No, no my dear. Everything is quite all right, quite alright indeed."
"Well, okay... If you say so." Charlie had relented after a few moments, unsure of what else to do.
Eventually, the members of the Hazbin Hotel grew used to the shadows, they too slipped out of their minds. Overcome with impending doom of the extermination just a month away, Alastor's strange behavior was no longer a priority.
That had been until the third odd occurrence came into being. It was Sir Pentious who had noticed it first, drawing it to the group's attention as Alastor walked through the lobby and past the group doing trust exercises there on his way to some meeting or another with the other overlords.
"Sir Pentious?" Charlie had called, trying to bring him back to earth as he watched the place Alastor had occupied, "Sir Pentious?"
"Pentious!" Vaggie yelled and his head snapped to her, "You're not coming up with some new plan to attack Alastor, are you?"
"No!" he quickly exclaimed, waving his hands frantically in the air, "Not at all just..."
"What?" Vaggie asked through gritted teeth, advancing a step forward, her spear in hand.
"It's just... doesn't that shadow Alastor has had following him well.... doesn't it kind of look like a woman?"
Husk broke out into wild laughter while Angel widened his eyes.
"Oh, he's definitely lost it now." Husk exclaimed as he calmed himself, clutching his stomach, "If I knew Y/n was the secret to breaking him down, I woulda done something about it years ago."
"No you wouldn't have, ya big talker." Angel teased, elbowing the cat demon lightly.
"Y/n?" Sir Pentious asked.
"Alastor's wife. That was her name." Husk replied.
"Did you know her?" Charlie asked.
Alastor had left the hotel, the threat that had held their questions at bay for months was gone and the topic was right. Husk nodded.
"So, what's she like?" Angel asked suggestively, "Is she more of a dom? Does deer boy like to get dicked down by his lady?"
"Gross." Charlie shook her head, her hands to her temples, "I do not want to know that."
"She's a good kid." Husk said after a moment, "She's nice..."
He trailed off.
"But?" Vaggie prompted, sensing there was more that he wanted to say.
Husk sighed.
"If you think Alastor is trouble, she's a fucking house fire set for the insurance money."
"So probably not interested in being a guest." Charlie dejectedly stated.
Husk shrugged.
"You never know. It has been seven years since anyone has seen her. Alastor allegedly knows where she's at but, he hasn't gone after her. Just keeps whining to me about it so, I don't know. Maybe she's changed. I doubt it though. Sweet as a pea, sharp as a knife."
Charlie had never felt such relief as when she learned Alastor had not died in the chaos of the battle. The hotel was destroyed, heaven was pissed, Sir Pentious had died but, at least he was alright. They rebuilt the hotel, Alastor's same shadow of a woman trailing after him wherever he went. After about a week, thanks to all the angelic and demonic powers involved in the construction, the new Hotel was finished.
It was just as they put the finishing touches on the place, hung the portrait of Sir Pentious they'd commissioned above the fire place, that a portal opened in the lobby. Everyone tensed, banding together behind Charlie and Alastor. Angels were coming, they were sure of it.
A crash echoed from the other side, a sharp yell and then something tumbled through the portal. With a flash, the portal disappeared behind the shape of a person huddled on the floor. She coughed violently.
Alastor's eyes went wide. Everyone else was too distracted to notice, but if they'd have been paying attention, they would have seen his shadow disappear.
The girl was filthy, her clothes torn and her hair tangled. She let out another, sharp cough before slowly lifting her head. Alastor took a trembling step forward.
"Y/n?" he asked, his voice soft in disbeleif.
A smile, wide and sharp, split the woman's bruised face in two.
"Hey hun, I'm home."
In a flash, he was at her side, helping her to her feet, checking her for wounds.
"Jesus, Y/n." he sighed, "You're a mess."
"I know."
"Y/n-"
"I know. I shouldn't have done it, you don't need to lecture me. I didn't have a choice. It was you or me, Al. I couldn't... I can't... I had to. You've gotta understand."
"Sweetheart-"
Y/n cut him off again, her speech a single, constant, stressed-out stream.
"It was stupid, I know. I know. I really do but, she gave me the option and I couldn't say no cause then if I said no you'd really be the one in trouble a-"
Alastor raised a hand gently to her cheek and Y/n's words caught in her throat. She looked up at him, meeting his eyes at last.
"You're as beautiful as the day I lost you."
His voice was soft, so quiet the others could barely hear him. Y/n's cheeks flushed a bright pink. Her hands found the lapels of his jacket, holding them lightly.
"I.." she stuttered, her mind racing.
With a sigh and a slight shake of her head, she gave up in the search for words and buried herself in his chest. Alastor wrapped his arms around Y/n, pressing her tightly into his frame.
"God, I missed you." she said, her voice muffled by the fabric.
Alastor pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head.
"I love you." she continued, "I'm so sorry."
Alastor pulled her off of him, leaning down the slightest bit so they were eye to eye. Y/n, wiped a stray tear away, letting out a slight, sad laugh. Alastor's eyes traversed her face, caressing every crevasse.
"I'm so glad your alright but, I don't understand." he said at last, "How are you back? The deal..."
Y/n nodded and Alastor's eyes went wider still. Leaning on Alastor's shoulder for support, she turned her eyes onto the rest of the group.
"You must be Charlie." she hummed softly, meeting the young demon's gaze.
Taking a deep breath, Charlie stepped forward and nodded.
"Yes, I am. I run the Hazbin Hotel, which is where you are, to help rehabilitate sinners."
"I know." Y/n nodded, her voice quavering slightly, "I've heard so much about you. You... my dear, it worked."
"I- what?" every other question died in Charlie's throat, shock shot through her body like a bullet.
"It worked." Y/n confirmed, "You did it. I had a deal, a deal which Alastor went to your side to get me out of. If you succeeded in redeeming a soul with his aid, I would be free. And here I am."
"Here you are." Alastor repeated, spinning Y/n to face him once again.
She wobbled unsteadily on her feet. Catching sight of this along with the numerous wounds all over her body, Alastor scooped Y/n up into his arms like he did when they had first been married, when they had crossed the first threshold together. Y/n looped her arms around his neck, exhaustion seeping in with the relief as she let her head fall on his chest.
"Vaggie..." Charlie began as she turned to her girlfriend, "you don't think..."
"Pentious?" Vaggie asked and Charlie nodded.
"It's gotta be." Angel confirmed.
"You did good, kid." Husk smiled, patting Charlie on the back.
Y/n raised her head at the sound of a familiar voice, her eyes opening.
"Husker?" she asked with a smile.
The cat demon stepped forward, bowing slightly.
"Husker! I-"
"Enough of that, my love." Alastor cut her off, tapping her nose gently, "You need a shower and some rest. You can meet everyone in the morning."
Y/n crossed her arms, narrowing her eyes as she looked up at her husband.
"Promise?"
"Yes, I promise." he sighed.
"Does that mean you're staying?" Charlie asked tentatively and the couple turned to her.
"Whatever the little lady desires." Alastor stated, looking back down at his wife in a lovestruck daze.
"Yes, Charlie. We're staying." Y/n laughed, "Things need to start changing around here and I don't see anyone else doing a god damn thing to make that happen except for you."
"I.." Charlie was speechless, the kindness this fear inspiring woman was directing towards her, having never met her before. What Husk had said made sense, she smiled, "Thank you. I don't know what you did, but that you both so much."
"Anything for my favorite girl." Alastor kissed Y/n softly.
"Oh, get a room." Angel scoffed, rolling his eyes.

Still on my nagas for Tollywood, this are Chari (Adhurs) and Siddah (Achayra). Chari is very easy to trigger into rants, while Siddah is chill as hell. As when he's listening to his boyfriend sceam about how humans are NOT allowed in the Naga forest despite having secured Siddah in his coils because... No way he's letting Siddah go!

Random astrology memo:
I'm once again reminded of Charis in my chart. (I tried finding my old post on it but failed to...)
Anyways. Charis is in my 12H, Pisces, and at a Virgo degree. For some reason I'm always making friends with the barista or shop managers of cafes, coffee shops, drink shops, etc. I seem to make an impression easily on them and make small talks which then evolved to exchanging contacts. Some even approached me thinking I'm nice when I had my RBF on (I'm still nice and they thanked me excitedly for leaving them a good review lol).
I guess this is how Charis plays in my chart, by being in 12H, as I'm unconscious about this. I'm reminded of it cuz I made another new friend who's the shop owner of the cafe I frequently visit in this new city. Virgo degrees remind me of those who serve, aka barista, shop assistant, etc. They have already remembered my order at this point. Pisces cuz.... Maybe I appear soft? Or maybe the vibe I have? Since I'm a Pisces rising as well.
Anyways, random astro rant is up till here.
Hope y'all stay hydrated and stay healthy.

Little Witch Academia and missed opportunities
Sooo, since I seem to go on a tangent every few months, have another one.
I recently watched the series Little Witch Academia. Now, I did see the original OVA and movie, but that was a few years back, so except for the concept and rough understanding of the characters I went into this show kinda blind. Also, knowing that the series started its own story and changed up a few things got me really interested.
I watched the series and you know what, it was real fun. Great animation and quirky characters, as expected of Trigger. What I didn’t expect was that I got really interested in the story as well. From what I knew about LWA (so, it’s memes) I thought it was mostly an episodic anime, which it was in its first half, but they still carried on the aspects of those single episodes.
However.
The biggest problems I have with the show lie with its characters and the missed opportunities. I do like (most) of the characters, but sometimes it felt like Trigger originally had more planned with them or they just outright shanked them. That is why I’m gonna ramble for a while, go over each character (I care about) and talk about what I like about them but was just not explored enough. Do remember, however, that I still really enjoyed the show and I am considering rewatching it again right away, but these were just some points that got on my nerves while watching.
Well, strap in I guess
(Spoiler warning btw)
Akko
Let’s start with the protagonist, shall we? I’m probably going to mention her a lot with the other characters as well, but first I want to look at her by herself.
Akko is Trigger’s typical high energy character with just a bit of sass. What I like about her is that she is loud, obnoxious, selfish and annoying and the other characters think that too. I normally really don’t enjoy these kinds of characters, even more so when I binge a series, because they get so exhausting. What I like in LWA is that even Akko’s close friends often tell her to calm down or straight up to just shut up. Akko’s character is even more enjoyable because of her great VA (actually the reason I finally picked up the anime). Her animations and reactions are super enjoyable too and tbh, even if she is annoying, she is also the funniest part of the whole show.
But, I’m here to rant, so on to the things that bothered me. Like I said, she is annoying. I can kind of see that it’s not that big of a deal on a weekly basis, maybe then it’s even uplifting. But when you sit through episode after episode it gets exhausting.
What bothers me too is that Akko barely changes. I know not to expect that much subtle character progression from Trigger, since they go from 0 to 100 fast, but it’s even stated in the show. Like the whole thing with patience. Akko was never the patient type but the episode it became the focus, they turned it up to eleven. She became unbearably twitchy and whiny, which was basically your indicator that this was going to be focused on. But after the whole lesson of the ep, in the next one Ursula even says ‘didn’t you just learn to be patient?’. I don’t wish for Akko to take big steps after she gets a lesson, but just show subtle moments where the lesson takes effect. I think it only really bothers me so much because after the ep Akko seems even more impatient.
Another thing is her selfishness / self-righteousness. Diana and Andrew even tell that to her face, that she just shoves her believes in other’s faces without considering how they feel and what their situation is. But she never, even once, doesn’t do it. I get it, it’s her character trait, being the dangerous combo of head-strong and stubborn. But it never, not even once, brings consequences. I thought it would finally happen with the whole Diana situation, because Andrew even points out Akko’s faults, but it all ends well anyways and Akko doesn’t learn at all from this.
I know this is a Trigger protagonist but at some point it just got so frustrating. It’s even sadder when you see what they did with Ryuko in Kill la Kill. Yeah, she’s still her abrasive self in the end, but she does have a more gentle and open side to her too after the show. Akko kind of stays the complete same after the whole show, only that she can do magic better and finally fly (which was honestly a cute ending, ngl). The worst parts, however, were her sad moments towards the end. And I’m not talking about her reaction to learning about Chariot, that was totally ok (though I do have some things to complaint about, but on to that later), but the thing before when she climbed that never-ending tree. Her outburst and her frustration came kind of out of nowhere, at least continuing on from the last episode. Her reasons for being so frustrated and angry make perfect sense, but the build-up is just missing, even in the episode itself. It would have been enough to make Akko look desperately at her Chariot poster a few times or just look really desperate in general after being told ‘no’ by Ursula. But she just looks her usual pouty self when that happens, so her outburst and mistrust in Ursula are very surprising. I do like that that ep is right before the Chariot (betrayal) reveal, because they just made up and got closer, but the episode itself felt so out of left field, it really bothered me.
 Sucy and Lotte
Before you say anything, I’m only lumping them together because what bothers me is not their characters by themselves, they’re great and very enjoyable, but how Trigger fucking dropped them halfway through the show.
Sucy and Lotte seem very similar to their OVA and movie selves, though Sucy seems just a tad bit less evil and Lotte not that much of a typical nerd. In general, I really liked those two and their friendship with Akko.
That said.
I find it terrible how little focus they get in the second half of the show. I mean, it’s great they are those kind of friends that don’t necessarily have to hang around the MC all the time, like in the Diana-centric episode where they go ‘We know you want to go after her, so here, have your stuff and go. We’re going to support you but not take part in it’. Things like that are great! But Akko, Sucy and Lotte are supposed to be best friends,  the main trio, Sucy and Lotte are supposed to be Akko’s mayor pillars of support. And this is beautifully shown in the earlier episodes, but later in the show it just feels like those two lose significance. What pissed me off the most is that in the second OP you see them grasping each other’s arms, a reference to the tapestry about the 7 lights. But in the end, Akko unlocks the staff and the big magic source by herself. I wished they’d gone more for a ‘Luna Lana’ equivalent. That’s just another thing! I watched the OVA and movie yesterday and their friendship is so much better in those! You see them laugh and fight and stick together, it’s so nice. You don’t get a cool moment like ‘Luna Lana’ in the series and I think they really should have. And no, the missile chase doesn’t count, that involved all girls.
Ultimately, I just think it’s sad that those 3 are supposed to represent this close friendship but the later show doesn’t show it at all. I wished other character-centric episodes, like with Constanze or Diana for example, would have happened sooner so that later episodes could push Akko, Sucy and Lotte’s friendship a bit more.
Speaking of Diana, oh boy, here we go.
 Diana and Andrew
Yes, I’m lumping them together because both could have had so much more.
First, Diana. I was actually surprised about her character, because from the little I remember about the OVA and movie, I thought her to be more of a bitch. And I was right. In the first two instalments she is a snobbish, stuck-up, rude bitch, so a Tsundere, but fun in her own rights. Her dynamic with Akko is truly amusing. In the series, however, she is still a bit stuck up, but more just a determined, stern and smart rich girl. She does chastise Akko and is shown as a know-it-all, but she respects others way more and mostly just talks because she knows she’s right. Though, I wish she would have turned out to be something right between the two.
Diana is supposed to be Akko’s rival, so why isn’t she? She’s supposed to be the Viral to Kamina/Simon, the Satsuki to Ryuko, but she just isn’t. Before her little arc, she’s kind of that ‘big goal’, the ‘perfect witch’, so the familiar obstacle that is the rival. Diana even gains some respect for Akko but also gets disappointed in her shortly after (tbh, same). But all this progression is kind of one-sided, because Akko’s perception of Diana barely changes. They don’t really have a dynamic going on in the first half, more so their own development. Heck, in the second OP it’s shown that they’re supposed to mirror Chariot and Croix but they honestly don’t. Because Chariot and Croix were two friends that were striving for the same goal but due to how differently they tried to reach it, they grew apart. Diana is striving for the same power that Chariot and Croix did and Akko, well, she doesn’t, she just goes along because she wants to meet Chariot. Which is fine, but it feels like this ‘rivalry’ is being forced onto them. Maybe that’s also intentional, but it feels weird. Diana even once says ‘I never considered us rivals’, which is understandable, but to me it was more of a surprise that Akko saw her as one. To me, it always felt like, even if Diana didn’t realize it, she viewed Akko as her own goal to reach. Akko on the other hand just gets really miffed with Diana, and yeah, she strives to be as good with magic as her, but there’s no real rivalry, not even an implied one.
Then the whole thing with both being Chariot fans and Diana getting Akko out of her slump. I already said it once, but I still think it should have been Lotte and Sucy who ultimately got her to perk up again (I’ll describe how I think this whole thing should have gone. Again, this is only cos I was unsatisfied with the resolution, the original is fine in itself though). What bothers me so much about this is that it feels like they shoe-horned this whole thing in because that’s how it was in the original. I get what they want to do, get a parallel between Akko and Diana, even more so because they both lost their magic to Chariot, and since they’re closer now than at the beginning Diana manages to reach her. But in the end, it feels forced. Both girls had one adventure together and Diana was just starting to open up to Akko, where the hell did all that understanding come from. It’s even harder to believe because it’s shown that Diana is good at relaying facts and choosing the most logical course of action, she’s not known to just openly share her feelings, more so to someone she just learned to consider a friend. And it also feels kind of lazy that a pep talk from a fellow fan and victim would just push Akko out of her slump. Instead of somehow cramming that fact in and making Diana have lost her power too, they could have gone along the route of ‘so what if she stole your magic, you’re too stubborn to let that stop you!’
Like I said, I’ll go into detail about this scene later, but first.
Andrew.
Oh. My sweet boy, they did you so dirty.
I’m going to say it right now, I love Andrew’s introduction episode, it’s probably one of my favourites. And I also like his addition to the series in general, because whereas Diana is Akko’s feud in personality and ability, Andrew is supposed to be her opposite in ideologies. But he isn’t just a male Diana who doesn’t like magic, though at first they make you think that.
I love his introduction ep so much, because they don’t just introduce an obstacle for Akko, but once again show that the show can play with your expectations. Andrew is first shown as this typical snobby, stuck up rich kid, which he is, but even when faced with someone he disagrees with, he shows a level of respect. Then further in the episode, you see that he is in fact a calm, helpful when a bit teasing individual. It also shows that he actually has fun when in danger, which is a nice change to normally one-note characters. But what I love most about this is, that he is not just this ‘snobby non-believer turned enthusiast through one outing’ cliché. Andrew gets to have a bit of an adventure with Akko and get to see amazing magic at that, but he stays pessimistic. He doesn’t just change his world view in a second, because that’s not what he was raised to do.
Having established all that, every time he shows up, he kind of matters less and less. The whole party episode was fun and all, but with Akko still being stuck in her narcissistic world view, the effect of the ep is small. Because what it really is about, is to show on one hand that Andrew is very subordinate to his father and that his perception of magic isn’t necessarily his own opinion, so there is a possibility to change his mind. On the other hand, it’s to show Akko that some people make decisions not based on their own volition and sometimes their opinion can’t just be changed like that.
But in the end Akko doesn’t learn her lesson and even if they do play a bit with changing Andrew’s mind, there really isn’t much to it. When I heard that originally it was planned for Akko and Andrew to be together at the end, but they scrapped that idea, it made so much sense why Andrew felt so out of place in the last few episode. Because he was. Honestly, it really shows now how they weren’t so sure what to do with him at the end, because he was not supposed to be the one to make that big of an impact, neither on Akko nor on the plot as a whole. He does say something very significant to Akko though, to be her own witch and not try to be Chariot, but that gets kind of brushed under the rug, because again, he isn’t supposed to be the one to make an impact anymore. Same thing with his ‘I believe’. It’s just there to be there, because even if he opened up more to magic and Akko herself, I don’t think he would have been snapped out of his ideology that he got punched into him since he was young and just abandon his father’s decision he had just started to doubt.
I think all of this would have flown better if the whole Diana arc would have been earlier in the series. There would have been more time for Diana and Akko to find a common footing and become believable friends, Andrew would have more reason to be mesmerized by witches and magic, because he didn’t just get to see determination from Akko but from Diana as well (and you kinda have that ‘go against your family’ stuff too) and then, in the later part of the series, there would have been more time for the main trio to develop a bit more.
But even if that hadn’t happened, I just want to get to changing up the scenes after Chariot’s reveal, because I think if they had handled all that a bit better, then the original ending would have felt even more sincere.
 Cheering up depressed Akko
Like I said, I find Trigger’s solution to this small arc lazy. Because you start up with Andrew and Akko meeting up to give her hat back, Andrew says stuff that not only gets Akko thinking but himself as well. Then you got the reveal, everybody searching and Diana being the only person needed to cheer her up. I know it can be argued that, only after Lotte comes in crying with the others in tow, Akko cheers up, but I think most of it can be chalked up to Diana, which is such plot convenience. Again, the things that bother me are the whole ‘Chariot fan and victim’ thing and how Lotte, Sucy, Andrew and the others are not really significant in this moment. The biggest thing that bothers me is that they start this mini arc with Andrew telling Akko to be herself and reach her goal with her own strengths in mind, not because she is chasing someone else. But then with Diana, it’s basically a ‘I could do it, so you can do it too’. I know they’re trying to build a parallel between those two and show how Diana opens up to Akko, but I think that just misses the point of what they had sat up.
Before I get to describing my idea, again, you can totally disagree with me, heck, you don’t have to like what I come up with at all. But just know that this is supposed to be a rant and I purposefully highlight the things that bothered me. I still love the show and only rant about it because I know Trigger could have made this already fun show even better.
Anyways, here is how I’d handled this arc:
The start of the arc is still the same. Akko and Andrew meet up, he tells her to believe in her own strength, Akko gets distracted and runs off, Andrew gets thoughtful. You have the whole reveal with Chariot, Akko vanishes and Diana and the others go search for her.
Now, what I want this arc to accomplish is, that Akko learns to believe in her own strengths but also to show how her friends have her back. Because that’s what the whole ending is about, right? Showing how Akko changed people, how they believe in themselves and even more so, believe in her. So, I want all of her friends to play a part in cheering her up, but make Sucy and Lotte the biggest influence of them all.
I’d start the changes from where Diana is nearly at Akko’s location. This time however, she finds Andrew close by. After the whole Parliament meeting stuff, him and his father are still in town and he went out at night, wandering around, deep in thought. He somehow managed to make himself think about his own situation with all that he had told Akko.
Diana, knowing that Andrew had met up with Akko, approaches him and asks if he had seen Akko. Since he is confused and worried after hearing she’s gone, Diana explains the situation and Andrew decides to help them search.
He is also the one that finds Akko first, right on that bench, covered in snow. (this part is a bit inspired by a post I read). He runs over to her, shocked at how cold and unresponsive she is. He gives her his jacket and he brushes the snow from he hair. He sits quietly next to her, worried glances and all. He thinks about what Diana told him and mulls over an answer. In the end, he basically repeats to her what he told her earlier that day and maybe something along the lines ‘and honestly, I wouldn’t believe you don’t have magic, because to me you are truly bewitching’, just so that you have nod back to the party, only now it comes from the heart and not because of a potion. That gets her to perk up and Andrew just gives her a reassuring smile.
Then Diana comes in, finally finding the two. Diana takes Akko to the café, Andrew staying behind. (here Akko could keep his jacket, so that in the end you have the parallel of him bringing her the hat and her returning the jacket). The café scene is kind of similar to the original, but I’d change the reason for Diana’s loss of magic. Instead of her losing her magic abilities all of a sudden, maybe she could have had a tough time manifesting them from the start. But Diana shares with Akko that she was inspired by Chariot too and that kept her going, believing in herself and her magic and finally succeeding. She tells Akko the whole thing with how she got envious of her, but at the same time that, just like Chariot, Akko had kind of become an inspiration as well. Now you don’t have the ‘I could, so you can too.’ but more Diana cementing that Akko has powers of her own and is already influencing people.
Then in come Amanda, Jasminka and Constanze. Amanda goes straight to shaking Akko and ruffling her hair, shouting something about ‘who am I gonna cause trouble with if you go’. Jasminka offers Akko her candies and Constanze shoves plans in her face, trying to show her that she needs her assistant. It’s just small things, but it would allude to the three of them caring about Akko and in Amanda’s and Constanze’s cases, that she had made an impact on them, tying in previous episodes.
Lastly come in Lotte and Sucy. Lotte is still crying and asking her if she was leaving. But they would kind of go into more detail, like a small recap of all that happened and how important she was. They would also talk about how Akko has grown so much already and so what if Chariot had taken her magic, she still inspired Akko and Akko therefore grew into her own witch that now inspires people.
After that, Akko finally snaps out of it totally, maybe grinning full force before sobbing and burying herself in Lotte and Sucy’s arms.
I think in general with a recap of the show so far and showing Akko’s journey, it would be a good set-up for the end. You got Akko back on her feet, her faith rebuilt but also her believe in herself strengthened. You got the bond between the characters established which makes the chase after the missile more impactful and you actually got more reason for Andrew to cement his own believes more. (maybe have him walk in the café too, just so he sees how many people Akko has inspired but also how much people can believe in magic)
But like I said many times already, this is just my take on what could have been handled better a bit. I still really love the show and its characters. I don’t necessarily want a whole new season, since they did wrap up many things already, but I’d love a movie or some OVAs to explore some characters more in depth.
Speaking of which, I’m just going to drop this here at the end, because I do want to talk about it but not that in depth. The thing about Ursula/Chariot and Croix. I kind of enjoyed the OVA-Ursula more, because she was kind of spunky and you could tell that she believed in her own strength. Series-Ursula is a freaking Jedi, but she is just so meek and nervous, and that even as Chariot, which I didn’t really like. Croix is an interesting character and I love me my evil scientists, but she turned generic antagonist at the end. As expected, tbh. The only thing about Croix I want to highlight is that I believed so hard that she and Andrew were somehow linked or related. Because when you binge the series, Croix shows up shortly after Andrew’s introduction. And in a series with so many unique eyes, they have the fucking same. I just thought that Trigger was hinting at something, because not only do they have a very similar shape and the exact same string green colour, the first few episodes with them heavily focus the camera on their eyes. Especially with Croix! It felt like the anime told me ‘look, look close at those eyes, seem familiar, right?’. I waited so long for something to happen but it never did, what a shame. Though, maybe they did have something planned but just like the initial ending, they scrapped that idea but left the designs untouched.
Anyways, I’ve been ranting for over 4000 words now, I think that should be enough for one little analysis. If you have your own thoughts, feel free to share them with me!

The Second Wizarding War was over and 12 Grimmuald Place was once again an empty shell.
When Harry and company returned to the house Walburga Black's portrait was on the floor the frame cracked and her face from the neck down had completely been "blacked out." It was as if she had clawed out her own face.
No sound came from the former matriarch of the Noble and Most Ancient House Black.  It was a eerie and ghastly sight.
"Didn't Sirius say a permanent sticking charm was placed on it?" Ron pointed.
Hermione turned the painting on the back and examined it.
"Let's get it out of here" said Harry.
"Agreed."
Ginny traced outlining of the frame. "Something feels different about the house."
She looked at the family tapestry and there was a letter on the table next to it.
Weeks earlier....
Several cloaked hooded figures stood in the entrance way of 12 Grimmauld Place.
Walburga Black's portrait screams and sobs echoed throughout the house. The house-elf Kreacher was no where in sight to comfort his mistress.
Portraits came from the near and far corners of Grimmuald Place. Whispers soon reached paintings of family members that were elsewhere in Britain.
She continued to bawl, clawing and tearing at her face.
"Hush girl! These are the consequences of your depraved actions!"
Phineas Nigellus Black bellowed. The former patriarch of the Black family held expression of contempt and disgust at his great-granddaughter.
Walburga's grandfather Pollux, father Cygnus II, youngest brother Cygnus III, and cousin/husband Orion stared in horror.
Walburga's mother Irma Crabbe and cousin Charis Black rushed to restrain her.
Phoebe and Elladora Black began to laugh hysterically and wail as well.
Her younger brother Alphard and cousin/sister-in-law Lucretia Black never took their eyes off her.
Melania Macmillan swept up her grandsons Sirius and Regulus in her arms, Ignatius Prewett shielded them from their mother's sight. A faint smile graced Melania lips.
Walburga's grandmother Violetta Bulstrode and great-grandmother Ursula held no emotion.
Magenta Tripe, Arcturus III, Lycoris, and Sirius II, and Dorea Black looked at her with contempt.
Walburga's sister in-law Druella Rosier gathered her own children. Narcissa hugged Andromeda tight silently crying into her. The eldest, Bellatrix broke free and ran towards Phoebe and Elladora laughing.
Lysandra Yaxley and Herbert Burke covered their ears, Belvina and Arcturus Black ll closed their eyes and turned away.
Hesper Gamp, Ella Max, Harfang Longbottom, Licorus, Callidora, and Regulus II Black shook their heads in commiseration.
Cedrella, Marius and Phineas Il began to sing.
" The stars shine brightest, boldly and beautifully bathed in a pure sky."
"House of Back has long forgotten themselves and became voids of misery and contrite."
The cloaked figure stepped forward and hit their fist against the wall.
Walburga's portrait fell flat on the floor with a simple thud.
"Enough out of you. Shut up."
Misapinoa Blishwick (née Black) portrait looked at the mysterious figures.
"Is that you dear niece?"
The person in question removed their hood.
It was revealed to be Iola Black. One of the earliest members of their family. The daughter of Cygnus I and Ella Max.
The youngest sibling of Sirius I, Phineas Nigellus, and Elladora Black.
In 1870 she had been blasted of the family tapestry by her older sister Elladora for marrying a muggle of African descent known as Bob Hitchens. Iola's husband was the only Muggle to ever step foot into the house.
"It is aunt Misa."
At her unveiling her sister Elladora screeched.
Phineas did you know she was here!?" Elladora's eyes bulged.
Her brother Phineas Nigellus inhaled deeply, and nodded towards Iola in acknowledgement, but remained silent to Ella's questions.
Iola's eldest brother Sirius looked at her curiously, smiled and gave a small wave. He had passed away at the age of eight before Iola was born. He was the first in the family to be named after the Dog Star.
She stood before the portraits of her relatives. Many gawked in bewilderment. Iola Black - now Iola Hitchens was very much alive and well.
"When I left the this place was in shambles now it's worse off. What a pity. "She feigned a look of hurt."
Ursula Black laughed. "Your sense of humor never failed to impress me. Nice to see you again Iola."
"Likewise," Iola winked at her former sister-in-law.
"Momma did you really you live here as a child?" Another person took off their hood.
" It wasn't his drab looking but yes once upon a time."
Misapinoa and her husband Jimbo greeted them warmly.
"Oh where are my manners. Aunt Misa, Uncle Jimbo, Ursula these are my children."
"Eridanus, Tucana, Vega, Pavo, and Alcyone.
"And this is my granddaughter Taygeta Zavijava one of my many grandchildren. I assume You've met her already Phineas?"
Phineas Nigellus slowly nodded. At Hogwarts his grand-niece used an alias. Known as "Tracey Davis" a student in Slytherin House.
The former patriarch of House Black and headmaster of Hogwarts cleared his throat.
"I'm a glad to see you survived the battle." The battle he was referring to was Battle of Hogwarts which had taken place weeks earlier.
"I bet you are." Taygeta rolled her eyes and stuck out her tongue at her grand-uncle.
Phineas II, Sirius III, Lycoris, and Alphard sniggered.
Iola eldest's brother Sirius motion toward his youngest sister.
"Iola?"
"Yes?"
"Your children are metamorphagi like Lexi, Eddy and I?
Metamorphagi were wix who could morph at will. It was an inheritable trait among members of of the House of Black.
Lexi and Eddy were the siblings Alexia Walkin and Eduardus Limette Black.
Eduardus was the first and earliest member to be blasted of the family tapestry by his elder sister Phoebe.
Alexia and Eduardus stepped forward alongside Sirius I.
"Ah yes! Pavo and Alcyone are."
Elladora moved into the painting with Irma who quickly stepped aside. The latter was currently studying her daughter's portrait that laid on the floor.
She sneered and pointed a sharp finger at Iola.
"I knew you would eventually come groveling back. Elladora cackled.
'Shameful Blood Traitors usually are full regrets" Phoebe chimed in.
"Have they gone mad?"
"Enough Phoebe it is over!" Licorus bellowed.
Aunt Ella!" Belvina huffed.
"God's don't you tire of ranting?"
Phineas Nigellus turned his back.
"What gives you the right to decide who is shameful? All of this started because you could not accept the inevitable Phoebe?" Alexia stood firm.
Misapinoa clicked her tongue.
Phineas Nigellus turned his back.
Eduardus strided across and grabbed Phoebe hand.
"Let go of me you filth blood traitor!"
"Let go traitor!"
"Let go Eduardus!
"She began to sob hysterically ."Let go Eddy"
"Phoebe stop."
Iola followed suit and calmly walked up to her older sister’s portrait.
Elladora whimpered and shrank back.
“Ella, I am free. Free of this elitist, hereditary bigoted institution. You and Phineas upheld and clung to it for decades and it has left this family as an empty void.” A true black hole."
Iola gently touch the scorched marks of the Black Family’s tapestry. “Regrets? My only regret is that the younger generations of this family suffered for it.”

Jamil (ft. Camia) | Strangler Fig
Managed to scrape this together for Day 2 of the @gentapprentices Gentleman Apprentices Week: His Daddy’s Son for some Jamil’s backstory! This is his story with his family, but also his first meeting with Camia
CW: Abuse Title: Strangler Fig by The Crane Wives 1.8k words
It was a blisteringly hot day in Prakra, and the city was thrumming with energy, everyone rich and poor, young and old preparing for the summer festival. It was many of the citizens’ favorite holiday, as it was usually chock-full of food and music, often stretching on for a whole week to celebrate the longest day of the Prakran year. This year had been a plentiful one as well, so there was a lot to be grateful for.
Jamil had always loved the festival, but he was really looking forward to it this year, as it was his first summer back from that stuffy private school. He had plans; he was going to dress in his finest red silk and gold jewelry, instead of the staunched, boring uniform that he had to wear all year round, he was going to eat everything, and maybe sneak in a performance with one of the local musicians.
But then he got home, and before he even dropped his bags the first thing his mother did was shove him into his room, yelling at him about his behavior at school—specifically, the fight he had been in. Which wasn’t his fault, he tried to explain, but his mother wouldn’t hear of it. He didn’t even know how she would have heard about it, but that didn’t matter. She left him with a stinging cheek and a threat as the door closed and locked behind her.
He pressed his face against the door and could still hear her shouting in the hallway, servants scurrying past to avoid her wrath.
“Ungrateful, worthless brat. What does he think we sent him there for?”
His father’s softer voice cut in. “Chari, calm down. I’m sure he had a reason.”
“He never does! He’s always putting himself over everyone else. We worked hard to get him this opportunity, schmoozing up to your family, and what does he do?” Jamil heard her hand hit the wall next to him and couldn’t suppress his flinch.
“Ruins it, like he always does,” He said in time with his mother, pushing away from the door with a sigh.
He could recite her rants at this point, and as he heard them start to walk away, down the hall, he knew how the argument would end. His father would try to calm her, maybe even make an appeal for Jamil to still be able to attend the festival, but he wouldn’t win, he never did. Jamil would be stuck in his room until the festival ended, if not until his entire vacation was over, and he would have to be sent right back to school. He probably wouldn’t even get to see his siblings, though he was sure they didn’t care.
Gingerly touching his sore cheek, he winced. She could have at least taken off her rings, he thought, but he was too tired to be angry. Instead he sat by the large glass window in his room, which overlooked the busy streets outside, and just watched as the rest of the country prepared for the festival.
The sun was almost touching the horizon when a knock at his door shocked him out of his trance, and he called out hesitantly. “Come in?”
The lock turned and the door opened slowly, revealing a stern-faced boy a few years younger than Jamil. He pushed his glasses up his nose and stepped inside, shutting the door behind him. “Hi, Jamil.”
“Hakim!” Jamil stood up from the windowsill and almost ran to his brother, but forced himself to maintain nonchalance, walking over instead. Once they met in the middle of his room, he couldn’t hide the small smile that tugged at his lips and hugged his brother tightly. “She let you see me?”
“Well,” Hakim glanced dark brown eyes over his shoulder, inching further from the door. “I didn’t ask. I have a copy of every key she does.” He sighed, rigid posture relaxing just slightly. “She hasn’t found out yet, and I would like to keep it that way.”
“Why did you come here then?”
Hakim turned his head away, eyebrows furrowed. “I—I missed you, I guess.” His voice trailed off, face aflame. “You’ve been gone a long time.”
“Oh, Kimi,” Jamil teased, ruffling his brother’s short hair. “I missed you too.”
Waving his hands off, Hakim grumbled something under his breath before his gaze turned to Jamil’s face. He faltered at the mark on Jamil’s cheek. “That wasn’t from Mama, was it?”
Jamil just shrugged, suddenly very interested in the pattern on his emerald shirt.
“What did you do? I heard her say you got in a fight.”
“It was a while ago now. I don’t even know how she found out.” Jamil sighed, thinking back, about a month ago now, to the fight. He honestly didn’t even remember what it had been about, considering that he and his opponent had more than apologized and made up since then. “Jacques said something stupid, and I got angry. I hit first, which, to be fair, I shouldn’t have, but neither of us walked away without a hit on the other.” The teachers hadn’t been very happy when both teens showed up to their lessons with a black eye each, but the boys had settled the argument between themselves. As usual, his mother was just blowing everything out of proportion, without even letting him explain.
Hakim hummed in response and held his hand out towards Jamil’s face. The older boy recoiled despite himself, but stopped, and let his brother assess his cheek. “Do you want me to heal it for you?”
As nice as he knew it would feel, Jamil shook his head. “Then she’ll know you were in here. But thanks.”
“Okay.” Hakim sighed and stepped back, glancing out the window. “I should go, Baba is taking Mia and I to the festival. I still need to get dressed.”
“Bring me back something?” Jamil gave his brother his best pleading face, and Hakim rolled his eyes.
“What do you want?”
“Anything, whatever you can smuggle back. I’d even take one of those hard cakes the grammas always make.”
“You must be desperate to even want a brick cake.” Hakim wrinkled his nose but gave Jamil a small smile. “I’ll see what I can do. Maybe I can convince Baba to buy you something.”
“Thank you, Hakim.” The brothers hugged again, briefly, before Hakim left the way he came, locking the door behind him.
Jamil took his place at the window again. He felt his stomach clench in hunger and sighed, knowing he wasn’t about to feel any relief soon. If his mother wasn’t going to the festival with his father, brother and sister, that meant she was busy working, and it was entirely possible that he would be stuck in his room with nothing to eat until the morning. “At least at school they feed me,” he grumbled, watching lanterns sputter to life across the streets of Prakra. The lights flickered in time with each other, like a heartbeat, and he could hear music start to play in the distance.
The sound of something crashing below him caught his attention, and he craned his neck to see into the dark alley behind his parent’s estate. A small group of teenagers were ganging up on another one, who had their back pressed against the wall, holding a knife out in front of them. Oh no, Jamil thought, and hastily looked around him for someone or something to help. He leaned further against the window and heard the latch click. Before he had enough time to think, the window opened, and he fell over his balcony into the alley below, landing on a cart with a dull thud.
After a stunned silence, the teenagers laughed. “The Prince is back,” one of them said, pulling him roughly out of the cart and onto his feet. “Well, come on, your highness, show us what you learned at that fancy rich kid school of yours.” They shoved him back, and he stumbled into the person pressed against the wall.
A girl stared back at him, confusion and fear painted over her face. His gaze flickered over the long scar that ran from the right side of her forehead to the left side of her nose. It didn’t look very old. Overall, with her pale skin, she didn’t look like she was from Prakra, so he took a gamble, and whispered in halting Vesuvian tongue, “follow my lead.” Her brown eyes widened, but she gave him the smallest nod, gripping the knife in her hands even tighter.
They stood with their backs to each other, facing their attackers. Jamil flicked his ponytail over his shoulder and gestured towards the other teens. “Try us,” he said in Prakran. Their faces steeled in anger, and the fight began.
It was over surprisingly quickly, as Jamil was trained to fight, and the girl held her own surprisingly well. He swore at one point that he saw her breathe a lick of fire at one of the attackers, but it was gone before he could register it fully.
Once the group had run away, Jamil groaned, collapsing against the wall. “Devil below, those assholes were tough, hm?” When the girl didn’t respond, he switched back to Vesuvian. “What did they want with you?”
“They thought I had money,” she said, shrugging. She tucked her knife away, adjusted the scarf she had wrapped over her head, glancing at him curiously. “Why’d you help me?”
“Well, to be fair, I wasn’t exactly planning on falling out of my window,” he said, gesturing to the still open window above them. “But it all worked out in the end. Lucky, right?”
She laughed through her nose. “Something like that.”
“What are you doing here anyway? You don’t look like you’re from here; did you come with your parents for the festival?” He stood up, staring at her again. “That’s a pretty rough looking scar.”
Crossing her arms over her chest, she cocked an eyebrow. “That’s a pretty rough looking bruise,” she fired back, pointing at his cheek. “Also, no I’m not here with my parents. I ran away from them, from Vesuvia. They gave me this scar.” Her voice trailed off, and her shoulders hunched slightly. “I just wanted to find somewhere else to stay.”
Jamil stilled, thinking back to his mother. His cheek still hurt, but the adrenaline from the fight dulled it slightly. He glanced up at his room, and then back at the girl in front of him. “My name’s Jamil, what’s yours?”
She stared at him for a moment before sighing. “Camia.”
“Have you ever gone to a Prakran festival before, Camia?”
“No.”
“Do you want to?” He held his hand out to her, eyes sparkling with mischief. “I know the best stalls to go to.”
Her gaze flickered from the window back down to Jamil, and after a moment, she smiled. “Sure.” She elbowed him lightly, ignoring his hand, and started walking out of the alley. “Let’s go before you get caught, your highness.”
Jamil just laughed and followed after her into the vibrant city, leaving his dark and empty room behind.

Disorderly Conduct - Sheriff Brackett x Reader [Smut]
Synopsis: You go visit the Sheriff at work to see if you can have a little fun. Then, an unexpected visitor forces you to improvise.
@chari-koopa
Tumblr media
It was one of those days.
Most days at work were alright-- Sheriff Brackett liked to think he did an on-par job taking care of Haddonfield and all its good citizens. Of course, today was one of those "fuddle days," as he called them. Everything was sticky and hot, as things got in early July, and Mrs. Bedford had called him all the way to Sicamore Road across town to settle a dispute with her neighbor over their gardening line. (He supposed it was for the best-- it had escalated to bearing arms by the time he got there.)
Now he was looking forward to settling in with his sticky bun in the office until someone else decided they needed him.
"Sheriff?" Brackett looks up, clouds in his mind parting.
"Hm?"
"You've got a... visitor."
The fact that the officer was on the verge of a smirk should have tipped Brackett off, but one thing he was not was observant. Who could it be now, come along to bother him?! Maybe Jed from Strawberry Lane, come to complain about Mr. Adler’s golden retriever fucking up his lawn again. God forbid he have an actual issue to deal with as Sheriff, instead of riding around the streets in a god damn fur cap looking like Davy Crockett.
He headed right into his office, taking off said hat and sunglasses...
"Christ almighty!"
You smile up at the sheriff as he shuts the door quickly, checking out the frosted glass to see if anyone else saw you.
"Calm down. Nobody saw me but deputy hoo-hah in there. Shouldn't there be some more cops on duty? This is a station, right?"
"What are you doing out lookin' like that?!" Brackett blurts, cheeks reddening. You bite your lip, squishing your tits together a little more. You love making him squirm, and the remodeling of your school outfit did just that.
"I thought I'd come say hi."
"And what've you done to your uniform?" he sighs, swallowing as his eyes come to rest on your extremely accentuated bust. You had made a few modifications to your school uniform to make it sexier. The skirt now barely grazed the bottom of your ass, and your buttons were popping beneath your breasts.
"I made it my own."
"You sure did that," he nods. He rubs his face as he sits down. "You do realize everyone I work with is gonna think I'm a pervert now."
"Not if I were to beg you to fuck me loud enough for them to hear."
"(y/n)!"
You giggle. "Not that I would."
"You better not--"
"Fuck me!"
"Hun, I'm warning you!"
"What're you gonna do, daddy?" you breathe, spreading your legs. His eyes go down to your panties, which he can see are soaked through. He undoes the top two buttons of his uniform, takes a deep breath, and stands you up.
"Wait for me at home, I won't be long."
"But daddy, I need you now," you moan, grabbing his arm. He escorts you to the door, rubbing your shoulders.
"Sweetie, daddy's at work, he's working, he'll be home so--" He stops mid sentence and gasps a little as you reach forward to palm him through his pants. "What are you--" he gives a raspy moan, and you feel him get hard in record time.
"Mmm, I don't think you want me to stop now, do you daddy?" you blink up at him, licking your lips, and he grabs your arm, leading you over to his desk and hastily undoing his belt buckle.
"You drive me wild, princess," he mumbles, hurriedly taking himself out, "But you know it."
"Mhm," you smirk wickedly, and lick your lips at the sight of his cock. "Fuck, I want it, sir."
"Real fast," he groans, parting your thighs and grabbing onto one, "And I mean real fast." Just then, the landline on his desk rings. "Jesus," he mutters, and you press the speakerphone button for him, taking your top off. "This is Brackett!" His voice sounds so strong and authoritative when he's at work, and it turns you on. He knows that, so he tries to play it up.
"Sheriff, there's a Doctor here, said he came from Smith's Grove or somethin'. Got a big problem he's gotta talk to you about."
"You don't sound too urgent about the whole thing," Brackett says, moving your hips closer to his.
The deputy's voice lowers. "That's because he seems like a bit of a wingnut.”
"Can it wait for five minutes?" Brackett blurts in exasperation.
"Only five sir?" You can hear the deputy smirking. Brackett looks less than amused as you giggle and bite your finger.
"That's enough outta you Ronson, keep quiet and tell him--"
Just then, there's a flurry of hard knocks at the office door.
"Sheriff!" It's a British voice. "Sheriff, I really must see you, it's a terrible emergency!" More banging.
"Oh hell," Brackett mutters, looking down at your spread out body on his desk, and you decide to take matters into your own hands. You slip under the desk, and Brackett follows your lead, quickly taking a seat in his chair just as the doctor bursts in.
"Haven't you ever heard of waitin' to be invited in?" Brackett snaps, covering his lap up, and the doctor puts his hands up.
"Sheriff, I'm Dr. Loomis. I'm so sorry for my lack of etiquette but this situation doesn't have very much time for it, I'm afraid."
"Alright doctor," Brackett says, sitting back, "I'm all ears. What's this big problem you've got for me?"
"Well you see, 15 years ago, I looked after a boy--"
As Loomis begins to speak, you put your hands on the sheriff's knees. He chokes a little as you get closer...
"--the devil's eyes. I couldn't get through to him. Now, he is dangerous, and he is coming here! Tonight!"
You swallow his cock down.
"Oh my god," Brackett breathes. Loomis hesitates.
"...Yes well, I'm glad you see the gravity of the situation, to be honest I feared you wouldn't--"
You go back to sucking him, almost gagging as you take him to the back of your throat. You start to dig your fingernails into his thighs through his uniform pants as you bob up and down on his cock.
"--and I believe he will make first for his childhood home."
You lick a stripe across the head.
"Jesus fucking Christ."
"My thoughts exactly, Sheriff." You go up and down, tightening your lips and playing with the vein on his erection, teasing him, working him up to an amazing orgasm.
Brackett white knuckles the desk with one hand, and taps your head with the other. He's close, you can feel it by the way he's thrusting ever so slightly into your mouth. You're so wet, trapped there between daddy's legs choking on his cock, pushing him to the absolute edge. You'd get it in bed later for this.
Doctor Loomis pauses his rant for a moment, eyeing the sheriff's appearance. His eyes are fluttering closed, and his breathing is heavy.
"Are you alright?"
Brackett opens his eyes under Loomis' suspicion.
"Just fine. Just... just fine, keep going." The encouragement is obviously directed toward you, and you go even faster, bobbing and licking.
"--Right. Anyway, I know for a fact Michael will be coming for his baby sister, and the other houses in this town are in danger as well."
Brackett gasps and looks up as you suck him perfectly. "Lord above."
"Indeed, so you agree this is the course of action we must take before he finds her?"
You suddenly feel Brackett's fingers twist in your hair as he comes in your mouth with a slight grunt. His neck strains and he squeezes his eyes shut, then regains his composure. "Um. Doctor, I'm gonna level with you. I haven't heard one word you've said." Loomis looks extremely frustrated. "Now how about...” Brackett holds up both hands, “We try things again, over burgers later. My treat. I know a damn good joint just up the bend here--"
"Burgers?! While we're eating burgers and chatting, Michael Myers will be out turning your little town into a slaughterhouse!"
"Okay--”
“Slaughterhouse, Sheriff!”
“Alright! At least give me ten minutes to... to right myself, dammit!"
"Very well."
You start to tuck him back up.
"Oh, by the way," Loomis turns with a slight smirk, "The lovely little thing you've got under the desk is a right looker." He winks your way, and you blush. Brackett starts to babble, so the doctor waves it off. "What, you thought I'd never gotten a blowie under the table before? Nothing like it, eh? And she seemed quite the talent, judging by your entertaining facial aerobics." He laughs at Brackett's embarrassment. "You've not exactly got the best poker face, Sheriff." His face gets serious again. "We'll be in touch tonight."
The door closes, and Brackett gets up, running a hand through his hair.
"Dammit... (y/n)... this was not appropriate!" he moans, making sure his fly is done up.
You can see the conflict in his face easing away as you bite your lip and act coy.
"Daddy didn't enjoy it?"
He sighs, looping his arm around your middle and drawing you close. "I enjoyed it, princess. I enjoyed it a lot. Too much."
You smile, cuddling into his chest and tucking your hands into the back pockets of his uniform. "Love you."
His heart melts a little. He can never resist you. "I love you too, babygirl. So much. Now you get home safe." He gives your ass an affectionate little squeeze under the short skirt, and fits on his furry Sheriff hat. "Seems like the punishment for all that'll have to wait til tomorrow night."

I find it funny that most people text their mother every day
Nope, not me.
The only person I text everyday or talk to every day is @utopium
I’ve gone a few days recently without talking to my mother, not because I’m mad at her, but literally because we’ve passed in the night when it comes to work schedules or I’ve been sleeping when she’s home, etc.
But without fail, J’s always at the top of my text queue thingy
Cause I mean, I need someone to rant to who understands my Chary rants and screeching about Jensen being a coward.

a lucifer rant incoming
it bothers me that we're not given cocytus fall's flashback.
it bothers me ppl who start watching from Virgin Soul actually think Lucifer is weak and a coward
esp since in genesis, even when his scenes don't even amount to 5min in total, you can still get the feeling that this guy is the strongKest, esp with the way gabriel and beelzebub mention his name.
but in Virgin Soul... eh.
in SnB game he's pretty much OP, although bahamut is still stronger than him.
it bothers me this guy who is supposed to be super OP is implied to have run away with his tail between his legs from chari.
this guy, whom the gods fear, is implied to have been afraid of a single human with borrowed power.
I JUST.
WOW.
I really wish they'd animate the cocytus fall bcs atm the only reason they wouldn't is bcs they can't actually think of a scenario where lucifer and chari fight and chari wins, so they just skip it altogether.
I could accept azazel being overpowered and lost even when he's in fullpower bcs azazel really has that bad habit of getting carried away, and is easily riled up and distracted.
but I really couldn't imagine the same for Lucifer
and in regard to bahamut:
are you really telling me that Gabriel and Lucifer who are like *ancient* and supposed to be all powerful couldn't even sense a Bahamut awakening, yet a mere human with tools could?
really???
esp since both Gab and Lucifer already lived through two Bahamut resurrections (that we know of)
you think they would just keep bahamut out of their mind and not like, put some safety measures up???
bahamut’s already on the verge of awakening yet both Gab and Lucifer don't notice while some humans do
it's like they're saying Gab and Lucifer's weak and nothing compared to humans
it's... a little disheartening, I guess.
In genesis, you get the feeling that while both gods and demons are much stronger, humans still excels with their fortitude and compassion.
but virgin soul seems to want to establish that human is not only the best, but also strongest and is the only one group that matters
Lucifer and Azazel and the demons lost a capital city bcs of chari's attack, but of course they're in the wrong for wanting to right the wrong done to them.
Chari attacked temple ark and stole the weapon blueprint and killed a number of gods, but of course the gods are in the wrong from wanting the stolen item returned and jeanne released.
and of course despite committing all the atrocities, chari can't be held responsible bcs "bahamut" and "martinet"
(ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻
idk

SnB rant
SnB Virgin Soul was just not good. I can’t think of any way to excuse the writing in the second half. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t take issue with the idea of Chari/Nina and of their actual characters. What’s inexcusable is the show’s attempt to transform Charioce from a nuanced villain into a flawed hero. It could have worked, were it not for all of the terrible things he did, both before and during the show itself. The writers tried their damnedest to present him as a horrible person; not only is he responsible for mass slaughter, destructive invasions, slavery, presiding over hideous mistreatment of the peoples he enslaved, tyranny, regicide, and cracking down on free speech and religion... he also directs the Black Knights to kill Nina and Mugaro (something the show’s writers apparently forgot about in the literal sense of that word), brags to Jeanne about her son’s capture and attempts to coerce her to his side while keeping her in the dark about his plan (????????), and like, it’s not as though his grand plan is that much to write home about. It didn’t even work! It literally didn’t work! But the show tries to get us to believe it did, so Charioce gets his heroic ending. Kaiser got killed off so Charioce could get his heroic ending. Favaro got forced back in the narrative for no other reason than to insert an incoherent parallel between him and Amira and Nina and Charioce. What was that even about? I can’t think of any interpretation that makes sense. In the final arc, the show not only retcons Charioce’s recent actions, but it hand-waves away everything else he did. “The king was hailed as a hero... There’s no slavery anymore...” Like what the fuck. Do Lucifer and Azazel and Sofeil and Gabriel have the memories of goldfish? “Well Chris-kun I guess you were right to slaughter, pillage and enslave us. You’re the hero who banished Bahamut for some indefinite period of time! It’s not like we’ve done the same thing at least twice already but without that stuff. Nope, the murder, war, slavery, despotism, and weapons of mass destruction were all fine in the end. All’s well that ends well (for an indefinite period of time)!”

1) Whoa. It's amazing how az*nin* shippers tend to overlook the bad apples in their fandom (and I don't mean anon hate, cause that may as well be trolls trying to start shit). I mean, there's a reason why my block list is full of them. It's because they've been constantly doing some things I didn't want to see in the damn MAIN TAGS of all places, such as: a) spreadig BLATANT LIES and MISINFORMATION to their fellow shippers (the infamous list of az*nin* to favamira parallels) in order to
2) convince them their ship is the intended one rather than charinina b) hating, mischaracterizing and misinterpreting Charioce while willfully ignoring canon hints about his personality c) spreading double standards and hypocrisy like a wildfire (condemning Charioce for doing some things, while conveniently forgetting about Azaz*l doing exactly the same or worse thing in Genesis and then NOT GETTING ANY ACTUAL REDEMPTION on screen ever) d) treating Nina like Azaz*l’s prize or accessory
3) that’s somehow obliged to follow his every whim (resulting in putting the blame on Nina after Azaz*l’s plans failed) e) hijacking the posts of people who are neutral about the ships in order to spread their shipping agenda even though those people couldn’t care less) f) hijacking charinina’s shippers posts in orther to argue their point without even really having a point other than ‘this is just my opinion’ and ‘everything can happen’; no facts, no logic, no canon materials to support their
4) 'theories’, no actual quotes form the writers, just the 'Nina can still end up with Azaz*l because she can’ and 'I hate Charioce, Nina will hate him too once she finds out his real identity and then by default az*nin* will happen’ kind of reasoning without anything backing them up, but if you call them out on it, they’ll cry because you’re attacking their 'opinions’; and let’s not forget about g) spite-shipping Charioce off with Jeanne, beacuse it doesn’t bother them that 'the evil tyrant
5) and the murderer of children’ will end up in a relationship with a woman, as long as that woman is not Nina and it makes the way for az*nin* to happen, while also conveniently ignoring the fact that for Azaz*l the most important person, without a shred of doubt, is Mugaro; Aza actually acts as some mellowed out OOC version of himself around Mugaro only, but NEVER around Nina; now I don’t claim azamuga will happen, even though the hints are there, but I don’t agree with the opinion that it
6) CAN’T happen just because Mugaro is a 'child’ when it’s the Bahamut universe we’re talking about and by these standards Mugaro is already older than Amira was in Gensis, and seems much more mentally mature than her too (remember her childish fits? even Favaro called her out on that); I don’t claim they’ll take that route, but at this point it’s more likely than Chari/Jeanne (heck, even Aza/Jeanne seems more likely tbh). And that’s not even all, but I’m already sorry for the rant, so.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I really thought if I could add something to this, but I’m speechless. Thanks for proving why the charinina fans are SO GOOD and not currently what many STANS are saying about us. You’re the MVP. :’)

You made our king proud. *wink wink*
