#dandy's doodles#inanimate insanity#ii#ii steve cobs#ii mephone#ii spoilers#ii 16 spoilers#objectober#objectober 2024#okay i'll be honest. the final drawing barely fits the prompt#however! it was inspired by it#'internet' immediately made me think of 'welcome to the internet' by bo burnham#and my mind instantly jumped to 'and it did all the things we designed it to do'#and y'know... steve cobs designed mephone to be able to create things#and so in a way mephone is fulfilling his purpose by creating the contestants#he's fulfilling his purpose by doing what his dad did#and then that made me think of the garden of eden story#where god creates both adam and the tree of knowledge#he tells adam not to eat its fruit and yet adam inevitably does; thus adam gains free will#and one has to wonder if that was god's intention all along - for humans to have free will#whereby adam - through the apparent defiance of god - is able to become exactly what he was created for#and y'know... mephone making his show as a rebellion against cobs...#only for that very show to be a creation borne of his intended purpose#so yeah. my mind jumped from bo burnham to the biblical creation of man#anyway!! very very happy with how this turned out#my favorite part is the charger snakes. i'm so glad i came up with that idea#also cobs' arm! that turned out really well! i referenced my own hand for his!!#in any event... it turns out i really really like biblical imagery and symbolism huh#also yes i did stay up all night like a maniac drawing this. the idea came to me and i just had to see it through :D i'm glad i did

Goddd there's something so humbling about being broken up with when you didn't really like the person either,, like oh, I'm too much to handle for the guy who made me uncomfortable. Okay. When can I get my hoodie back
#the precipitating event was that i picked him up from work at 10pm so that he wouldn't have to bus home in the snow#and since i didn't really wanna be there and was only doing it bc it felt like the nice thing to do i wasn't in a great mood#(meaning i was kinda asocial not that i yelled at him or anything)#so he asked me like 5 times what was going on with me and then this morning he sent me a snapchat saying he's not in a place to maintain#ANY contact with someone who has “random outbursts”#and then didn't reply when i asked if there was something Specific i did since afaik i was just... generally not super thrilled to see him#and i mean i was trying to figure out how to break up with him anyways since he had a tendency to catcall people#(i think since he's trans he thought it was fine?? but it felt weird to me)#and also he slapped me on the ass when i picked something up and was oddly hung up on understanding why i don't like making out#so like. this wasn't going anywhere.#but also he has my FUCKING baja hoodie and i WANT IT BACK#and if he doesn't respond by the end of the day im literally gonna stop by his house tomorrow and ask for it in-person#also he lost my charger so now i have to get a new one

oh fuck i'll be participating in The Long Walk Home this year cos my jobs in the cbd
#its a disaster (earthquake primarily) preperation event#you leave work at 1 and then have to make your way home on foot#the way one would have to if a quake (as they often do) happens while youre at work#because it would take out major roads and leave the port#buses and trains unuseable#it'll take hours for me (its a 30 minute bus ride down the valley but it would be safer for me to take the hill route home)#i'd say 5-6 hours likely#worth it however. because these things happen and you DONT want to get caught out#its why i always carry a kit (little bit of food. nessecary meds and water. phone charger.)#just in case. ive seen what quakes can do. esp with what just happened in japan. no being unprepared.
