TBH, I see Linzin everywhere now.

If anyone is curious, CHARDAWN is a popular pairing/loveteam in the Philippines. They were once a couple but are now happily married to their respective spouses. Despite this, they remain on good terms in real life and have even made several movies together. Filo fans love their chemistry.

I had a random thought and that was the ever so popular i-Dawn Zulueta mo ako pose popularized by the actors Richard Gutierrez and Dawn Zulueta in many of their movies and television series.

It may be a little cliché and a little embarrassing because I do want someone to do this to me or if they can't do this to me, I want to do it to them. Haha! I wanted to draw the pose and my friend said to draw the pose with me and Kaeya so I did. I had a lot of fun with this. It's not like the great drawings you find here but this is one my best. Hehe! Hope you liked it!

Whoever I shipped and will ship, they will never top the butterflies CharDawn had given the 12-year-old-me (and even the current-me). Sometimes I just wanna go back where my heart was solely dedicated for this two person just to feel the thrill, the excitement, the kilig once again. Although now, I've engaged myself with different fandoms, picking up new interests, new ships, new stans, I will never not miss getting to watch them together, walwalan with other cdps on the twitter app, getting behind the scenes ganap, and even hopias (even though cdps get served with that on a daily)! My shipper heart is back

I kinda shipped CharDawn way back (not sure if it was 2013 or 2014) and now I'm starting to ship LeAga as well. Darn it, I didn't mind that much of the "TOTGA message" and the concert video back then, but now...goodness gracious, after accidentally reading a fanfic of them on wattpad (yes I read stories there too, and it's weird how I started to ship them because of it, but that's how it started for me) I kinda did start to do my "research" and waiting for the 3rd movie to happen as well.

Lin walked back to the farmhouse after a long day in the fields, dirt smudging her cheeks and her muscles pleasantly sore. The sun was setting, casting a warm glow over the land she’d been tending. As she approached the porch, she saw Tenzin waiting for her, leaning casually against the doorframe.

“Welcome home, Mrs. Beifong. So, how’s life?” he asked with a playful smile.

Lin chuckled as she set down her basket of freshly picked vegetables. “That’s an unusual question, but life’s been good. And you, Mr. Airhead? How’s your life?”

Tenzin’s smile widened as he stepped closer. “Hmmm… I’m talking to her right now.”

Lin rolled her eyes, but she couldn’t hide the smile tugging at her lips. “You and your pick-up lines,” she muttered, though there was a warmth in her tone.

Tenzin just grinned, clearly pleased with himself. “I’ll take that as a win.”

Lin shook her head, feeling a little lighter. “You’re lucky I like you.”

“I’m luckier than I deserve,” he said softly, reaching out to take her hand.

Lin squeezed his hand back, the warmth of his touch grounding her after a long day. “Come on, let’s get dinner started. I’ve got some fresh veggies that are just begging to be cooked.”

The Reality of Being In Love

For as long as I can remember, I was obsessed with Philippine media. There was just something about it that seemed to keep me coming back for more. When I was a child, I used to spend my time mindlessly watching teleseryes for hours on end. It wasn’t until I entered high school that I started to question the popularity of the artistas that I had grown so familiar with.

When I was in grade 5, I became an avid fan of Enrique Gil. I watched all the TV shows he was in, all the guestings he had on talk shows, and I bought the products he endorsed in order to support him. Now that I look back on it, I was quite the crazy fan. Although my love for Enrique Gil hasn’t died down, I am proud to say that I am more aware of what is really happening behind all the glitz and glam of the cameras.

Philippine media, and media in general, use a certain formula to cater to the masses, or in other words, the bigger audience. Media is purely audience-centered, this means that they constantly adjust to what the people want to see. One thing that the Philippine media in particular takes most pride in are its love teams. The term was coined by Filipinos, and it basically refers to pairing two people together. Although this is practiced by both international and local media, it is clear to see that Philippine media places greater value on these love teams.

Rarely do we ever see a Filipino actor or actress rise to stardom without the help of a love interest. This is generally due to the fact that a big percentage of fans, thrive on the existence of love teams. This is why the proliferation of love teams we see on TV and the movies are a product of a marketing strategy devised by production houses to earn more money. Millions of people, not just Filipinos, go crazy over love teams like KathNiel, JaDine, DongYan, KimErald, CharDawn, AlDub, and LizQuen -- and it’s not hard to see why. I honestly find myself obsessing over these ‘couples’ from time to time.

With all the fanfare that these artistas are getting for being in ‘relationships’, it makes me wonder why people continue to dedicate their lives to something that might not even be real. The great deal of media coverage that these love teams have makes it difficult to distinguish fantasy from reality.

In line with Jean Baudrillard’s concept of simulacra and simulation, the presence of love teams imitates real-life relationships so well that people tend to grasp what they see in media as reality. In addition, due to the seemingly endless advertisements, teleseryes, and movies being released, audiences are subconsciously forced into accepting the idea that what is being presented to them is real.

Even with the ridiculous amount of fans that still grow angry when half of their favorite love team is seen not with their supposed partner 24/7, I challenge you to stop living in a dream. Don’t live your life admiring the life of someone else. Don’t waste your time stalking ‘ideal couples’ or people that are ‘#relationshipgoals’. Instead, go out and live a little. Make mistakes, fall in love, have your heartbroken, and enjoy realities that the world has to offer.
