hiroyuki mori the actor who played watanabe in hidden blade talks about wang yibo:

──Mr. Mori, you had many scenes together with Wang Yibo.

In the early stages of filming, I didn't have any scenes with Wang Yibo, so we didn't have much interaction, but he was always on set.

──Does it have to be a scene where you're not appearing?

Yes. He was there all the time even though he didn't have a role. He was in the director's room, watching the monitor. He's a really quiet guy. But one day, he was practicing his lines in Japanese next to me, and he said, "Please teach me this part." There were a lot of scenes where we were practicing Japanese together that were filmed on camera.

──I saw it in the making-of footage.

The director suddenly told him to do it in Japanese. Probably about three days before the scene where he spoke lines in Japanese was shot. In fact, when we started shooting, I thought it would be tough in three days. But it seems he practiced a lot after that, and after a week, he had improved to the point where he could do it. I know how difficult it is to suddenly learn a language that is not your native language and then act, so I was really surprised that he could speak so well. So I told him, "I'm surprised!", and that was the scene that was used in the making of the video.

He was always practicing Japanese during breaks in filming, and I could tell he was making a lot of effort. So I thought, "I wonder if I can help you in some way?" and I leaned forward. Wang Yibo is a shy, silent, earnest person who just works hard. So it's the same as the relationship between Watanabe and Ye in the movie. I trust him more and more, I like him, and I feel like a parent. There's a scene where Watanabe says to Ye, "I'm going to take you (to Manchuria) too," and that's like asking a lover to come with you.

--What do you think is Wang Yibo's appeal?

He attracts people without question. After watching the movie, everyone around me just talks about him. No, what about me? (laughs). If he was a nasty guy on set, I wouldn't say that either. He's a really nice guy. In the last scene with Watanabe and Ye, he smokes a cigarette, but he smokes too much and then pukes it out. It's a cigarette from that era, so there's no filter and it's really strong. The nicotine gets to you, you lose your voice, and you feel sick. But he smoked it earnestly and heavily.

She is forced to marry him and they have babies. her child later tells her where the man is hiding her robe, she takes it and flies away, later she comes back with new cloaks for her children and they all leave. the end.

This is probably unlikely after the Faking Death message, but now my current theory on Xia Fei is that he did actually die in the fire originally but exists in the present because of a closed loop that ShiGuang have to complete

so i cant help but notice that two (2) times, twice, when Zhuge Qing and Wang Ye were shown, it immediately cut to the only real prominent established couple in the show -
