Kk so I re-listened to @scytheaudio 'Tales of the Femyurai' and because I really wanted to work on character designs, I decided to try my hand at drawing Femy!

tbh I didn’t know the incel Joker obsession spanned across incel groups outside places like the US where this imagery originated from. like in those clothes this guy looks like a kid on Halloween. he woke up, dressed up in clown clothes, did his makeup and drew a goofy ass smile on a medical mask. he’s holding what looks like a nerf or water gun while at the same time espousing extremely real and violent threats to women. there is a strange juxtaposition happening between the way he’s chosen to represent himself here as, essentially, a kid’s comic book character and his violent words. Of course to these guys this character is a “symbol” for them, we don’t need to argue that and I don’t want to be reminded about how much money and film has been dedicated to these comic books lol. using this image is Iike a fast forward button for any actual PR or messaging he wants to say to his fellow incels, especially if he wants people to join and spend money. I’m not talking about that but rather the optics of using a comic book character, something typically associated with children.

imo this and the extremely violent reactions we have seen here and in the west regarding videogames (the previous “gamergate” and whatever stupid shit is happening now) have some overarching similarities. are these guys worried about the abuse workers suffer in the industry? No, they don’t want the boogieman “femi” working on games, they don’t want the boogieman “SBI” touching their games, etc, you’ll see a lot of these guys say it’s because they want these games to remain as “escapism” for them with “no politics”. all of this is incredibly naïve. politics affect every single part of a game - who gets hired, what gets made, what story that gets told, the characters, the marketing, the budget (and sponsors and everything that entails), etc. when you see them write about “SJWs” all at once, and suddenly it’s “SBI” all at once, and then suddenly this turns into “DEI” etc, it’s because these misogynists all watch and listen to the same group of big misogynist “influencers” and will parrot everything they say. So we’ve got the following all together - idolizing and dressing up like the comic book character the Joker, an unhealthy attachment to videogames with a “no girls allowed” attitude, blaming everything on women and minorities, a naïve understanding of how the world works, and these Daddy-figure influencers. It seems like some sort of self-inflicted arrested development (idk if this term is still used I just mean they refuse to grow up/mature, and this is specifically on their own accord) to me, it’s like they let themselves have the thought pattens of kids/teens and completely wallow in this, but with the violence and brutality of adults. blame everything bad in your life on women, it’s the thought process of a petulant teen boy, every woman with short hair is a feminist, legitimately how a child would think, but taking a knife and brutally attacking a woman with short hair and the bystander man who tried to get between you is the violence and strength of an adult. but these guys are so legitimately pandered to by society, placated by companies and have made entire communities and cottage indu$tries based on hating women/ believing that everything wrong in their lives is because of women that there’s no reason to “grow up”. It benefits them, they never have to think they’re wrong, and they enjoy it. this is at least a small part of what goes in to this I’m guessing, so much of this is so oddly childish with the emphasis they put on comics and videogames yet extremely violent in real life

<3 It's my anniversary today! <3

A year ago today I was married to my soulmate, my closest confidant, the other half of so many of my stories, my Alexander. It was a beautiful day, and to celebrate, I thought I'd take a moment to talk about The Bishop of Black, which we've been writing together for years on end. You can check out the whole first book right here for free, if you like.

My Alexander does all of the beautiful artwork, and together we tell the tale! You can follow them at @alexanderflowerbird for more of their art and their solo writing, which I highly recommend. But more about The Bishop of Black! There are four PoV characters: Femi, Atsa, Irastenys, and Scythaline, and all of them are in different flavors of the worst trouble they've ever been in.

Femi (left) just wants to pursue her career as a medic in the Kingdom of Black, but when tragedy strikes, she finds herself on the hunt for a murderer.

Atsa (right) is desperate to vanish into her work as an aide in the Kingdom of White, and work off her family's debts, but her good work attracts the attention of powerful people.

Irastenys (left) is helplessly in love with Femi, an immortal... And a murderer. (Don't think too hard about the last part. He can totally be trusted.)

Scythaline (right) is trying to step out of the shadow of his beloved mentor... while having an affair with a married man who may not have his best interests at heart.

And the mess. Gets. Messier! Anyway, I just wanted to take a moment to showcase some of my husband's beautiful artwork and promote the project we've been working on together. I have loved our life together as much as I've loved writing this story, and I'd be delighted to share it more broadly in hopes that others might love it almost as much. We're in the middle of revamping the early chapters (which are a little bit rough) so it's really a great time to dive into The Bishop of Black!

Signs everything I thought I knew was wrong

I needed to dump my thoughts and feelings somewhere because I feel like im annoying my support group. I think my egg finally cracked Wednesday and immediately I had to start researching and buying gender affirming things. Anyways, here's my list of signs that I wish I had seen like a decade ago, please be kind I'm very new to opening up like this

Another Girl in elementary threatened me with makeup and cross dressing and I wanted it bad.

I think this one is such a major factor in why I feel like this has to be real. Its well before puberty and well before I knew transitioning was a thing. Just a natural thought for someone who’s the wrong gender

Multiple times pleading with god to just make me a girl

Still cis tho obv

Thinking if I held still for long enough in bed, some sort of magic would make me a girl and fix this wrong body of mine

I still remember the dreams where im a girl, i legit became proficient at lucid dreaming just for it.

Legit had an anxiety attack and took a day off work because my transfem friend said “careful, i said the same thing before i came out”

Wishing i had magic to turn myself into a girl

In pre school, loved pretending i was at a hair salon and the other girls in the school would give me a haircut. It gave me ASMR

Speaking of ASMR, I like exclusively listen to makeup, nail and hair roleplays

Feeling like i dont want to transition because I could be ugly

After realization, I dont have nearly as much of an appetite, maybe subconscious bodily sabotage in the form of overeating

Wondering what my parents would do if i woke up one day as a woman and had to explain that to them

Genuine euphoria at the idea of trying on womens clothing, but thinking that i was weird and kinky

Hating my balls

I bet it feels good to cry, its probably cathartic

Hating body hair god i hate this so much, I’m just bad at shaving it and dont want to be covered in razor burns and have to explain to coworkers why I shaved my legs and arms

Adopting a super masculine persona

Forcing myself to have a much deeper voice to not feel any of my true feelings

Actually seeing a future after considering becoming trans

Being hurt by transphobic comments at work before I realized my egg status

Was I sending what they said to my friend because i was hurt by it and wanted reassurance?

When i started drawing again, i had no desire to draw “cool badass epic shit” i just wanted to draw super cosy watercolor paintings.

God damn it i’ll say it, I fucking love pastels. Both the art medium and the color spectrum

Repression of my desire to dance and sing, or I guess express myself in any format due to internalized transphobia

On this topic, how the fuck did i think this shit was normal… i wasnt watching women or anything, its not like i was being creepy in reality. I just wanted to see the womens clothes. Why is that such a bad thing for someone to want
