In an interview, Hart Hansen, the creator of the show, admitted that he based Bones on a friend with Asperger’s syndrome (which is now diagnosed as ASD). But, according to him, Fox never came out and said this because the broadcast network was hoping the show would appeal to a larger audience. brennan (she/they/it) : bisexual + genderqueer !!! i think she doesn't care much for labels in all honesty, and views her identity as a fluid and personal experience. but if you ask her to label it, she'll give you those ones :-) she's always just Known who she is. she assumed everyone felt this way her whole life, didn't understand why she felt so isolated from girls growing up. strict labels on gender and sexuality have always just felt so made up and impersonal to her-- she's just Her.

booth (he/him) : bisexual .... i think he hold it very close to his chest after a lifetime of hypermasculinity and assumed heterosexuality but there have been multiple guys he's fallen in love with over the years, from his highschool hockey friends to a boyfriend he had in the military. it's not like he keeps it a secret, but he doesn't feel comfortable shouting it to the world.

angela (she/they) : bisexual transfem !! she's kinda always known, and she never really had to hide it. spending her childhood on the road with her dad she met all sorts of people from all sorts of walks of life, so when she figured out she was a girl, her dad was just happy she was happy. she just loves love, has fallen in love with so many people of so many identities throughout her life. she views love as a spiritual connection, nothing to do with anyones gender. if she loves you, she loves you.

hodgins (he/they/it) : bisexual transmasc :-) he's known he was a guy since he was pretty young, but growing up rich and sheltered he was forced into femininity at all oppirtunities to protect his family reputation. by the time he was 16, his family gave up on controlling his "tomboy" ness, and once he left for university, he transitioned on his own. he covered up his bisexuality for a LONG time, especially when he was more worried about "passing". once he found people who loved and accepted him for who he was, he was much happier and safer to explore his identity and relationships :-)

cam (she/her) : pansexual !! she's always loved girls, but thought it was admiration most of her life. she assumed everyone looked at other girls that way, fascinated by them, bizarrely jealous but also desperate to get close to them. she thought they were just her friends, until she was in college and making out with another girl while drunk and realized she liked it so much more than any of the other girls she was around. she's much happier with herself and her relationships now that she's accepted who she is. she's also got some gender stuff going tf on but if she acknowledges it for 30 seconds she will fucking explode.

I tried not to pick characters I only liked for their romance, or characters from media where I like male/nb characters more & would only pick them because they fit the category for the poll. Hence no Dragon Age, Mass Effect, etc.

Also I almost put Female V (Cyberpunk 2077), Female Hawke (DA2) and Female Shepard (ME series) but didn’t since they’re all technically just female versions of a character…but they’re my favourites otherwise <3

Yall im UPSET! There are nearly 3k fics for Bones (TV) on ao3, and i can't fund any on Booth! We have Sweets centric and Bones Centric, hell even ZACK centric fics, but i can't find any on our favorite badass sniper!!

LOOK AT HIM!! There's so much to do with his character! Abused as a child? Give him angst. Ex Army Ranger? Give him Trauma. He's literally a main character, and we dont have more on him? Why dint yall LIKE HIM?? I Love Him! He's great! He's sassy!

Bones series

Starting off pretty easy with the Bones. That tv show is full of neurospicys.

First up, the Woman herself Temperence "Bones" Brennan.

Temperence Brennan has Autism. Throughout the series, to the point of being a gimmick, she's mocked for her lack of social skills. She struggles with sarcasm, metaphors and is stated to be hyper literal and hyper logical all the time. She also has a hyperintense sense of justice and it takes a while for her to adjust when her world view is tilted (coming to grips with her parents being criminals for example). Lastly, she feels deeply even though to strangers she seems cold hearted. She has such trouble processing and expressing herself when it's not a logical situation only those close know when it's her way of saying she cares. Also, if it's not Bones and Anthropology, she has little interest in it (Special Interest)

Next up- Zach Addy (another easy one)
