#character verse timeline

Okay, I know like 1 person will probs see this, but for my WWII verses, Meg's timeline looks roughly like:

- Leaves America roughly the same time the Great Depression starts, so 1929/30

- Can't face going back to France, so instead opts to settle in Berlin, Germany. It's a new city with lots of faces, plus no-one knows her which is a bonus!

- During this interlude is mainly where her Cabaret verses take place. She befriends basically everyone at the Kit Kat Klub, and they become an adopted family to her.

- Obviously tensions rise as H*tler comes to power. Meg watches the W.iemar Republic disintegrate and the N*zis rise to power.

- The Kit Kat Klub is forcibly shut down; most of its patrons and workers disperse or are arrested and she loses her adopted family.

- After WWII breaks out, Meg soon finds herself working for the resistance in Berlin. As a woman of the night, she soon finds that soldiers of this formidable occupation are just as easy to manipulate as any other man.

- She uses her position to gain intel and feed it back to the resistance. At times, she is in an advantageous position to dispose of certain characters herself, but it is a high risk game she is playing.

- There are many close calls and she ends up moulding multiple identities to evade the regime and continue the work of the Resistance.

- She loses many allies throughout the duration of the war, and she is also forced to do many things out of necessity which sits uncomfortably on her shoulders.

- After the end of WWII, Meg can't stay in Europe and ends up back in New York. Despite it being familiar, the culture shock of having departed from a country torn apart by war and arriving in a country that was an ally, but simultaneously so far removed, is almost too much to handle.

- Being fluent in three languages, Meg starts looking for secretary work which she soon secures.

- The reality of her lived experience during the war has no space in this country, so she rarely speaks of her experiences or life before arriving back on American shores.

The four Sages were called back into the past by Terrako and they remember it happening

Tulin got to meet his hero, Revali, and decided to be just like him, adopting his idol’s brash personality and drive. He practises Revali’s Gale and eventually comes up with his own way to show off his mastery of wind, and when trouble hits his home he rushes to fix it on his own to prove how strong he has become and because, like Revali, he can’t stand idly by while he knows there’s still things he can do.

For Yunobo, when he goes back and meets his ancestor Daruk, he is a very timid and reactive Goron. He needs a push from others to come up with ideas and carry plans through, and when bad things happen to him his first instinct is to use his fire magic as a shield, to wait until the threat has passed by or somebody else has come to save him. But when he is sent back in time to Divine Beast vah Rudania, for the first time he has to be the one doing the saving. Daruk encourages Yunobo and is proud of him from the moment they meet, and it’s this support that gives Yunobo the confidence to help fight against Calamity Ganon, and to start YunoboCo when he gets home.

For Sidon, meeting his family from 100 years ago is bittersweet. He is proud that he was able to protect his sister, and it’s a comfort to know there is a version of him who will grow up alongside Mipha because of his bravery and fighting prowess. But as much joy as he got from seeing her, hugging her, and hearing her voice again, it just reminds him of how unfair her death was, of just how young she was when she died and how he is now older even though he’s the younger sibling. And at the end of the war, when he’s returned to their original time, he has to readjust to her absence all over again, and in light of that is it really a shock he’d have her statue moved further away from his home? And it also explains why he’s so desperate to protect Yona from the sludge.

Riju in AoC still a new ruler to her people, despite her accomplishments in BotW, she still feels guilty over the temporary loss of the Thunder Helm and isn’t sure if she can lead the Gerudo. She has a lot of confidence but is quick to falter when things go wrong. Urbosa treats Riju as a capable fighter despite her young age, and teaches her that she should never give up, to keep trying even when her resolve falters. There is always something you can do, even when it’s just stalling for time until help can arrive. Urbosa guides her in mastering the Thunderhelm, and possibly begins teaching her to summon lightning herself after Kohga attempts to steal it, and at the end of their time together Urbosa tells Riju she’s certain she’ll lead the Gerudo well. Riju treasured her time being mentored by Urbosa so much that she considers what Urbosa would do during the Upheaval in her diary in TotK.

I think the entire reason Tulin was added to the DLC was because the TotK team had already decided that Tulin was going to be the Sage of Wind, and that since the other sages were going to meet their Champions Tulin had to as well.

At some point in the years between Botw and TotK Teba, Tulin, Sidon, Yunobo, Riju and Patricia were summoned back in time by Terrako to aid the Champions during the Calamity, and even though those events took place in a parallel timeline and had no bearing on the world they returned to, the Sages’ personalities at the beginning of TotK are because of their experiences during the Calamity and the bonds they made with the Champions.

Getting out of bed that morning had been more difficult than ever before. Matt was here, peacefully asleep in his arms, warmth and safety enveloping them both, even if it was temporary. He'd wanted nothing more than to stay there for as long as Matt wanted; he wouldn't have cared if it had been all day long. Having the chance to laze in bed all day with someone he adored sounded heavenly.

Unfortunately, Li Ming had a job for him to do nearby — so, Zane had carefully extracted himself from Matt so he wouldn't wake him and briefly went to get the sketching supplies to keep him busy whenever he woke. It was the best way he could think of to still take care of Matt even while he was away, in more ways than one. Then there was nothing left to do but to get the job done.

When he returned hours later, the apartment was dark. At first, Zane thought Matt must still be asleep — but, when he flipped on the light switch, he saw Matt hunched over the sketchbook, drawing away. Their eyes met and Zane couldn't have stopped the warm, affectionate crooked smile that tugged at his lips if he'd tried. He set their take out bags on the counter first then approached Matt from behind where he sat on the couch. Zane leaned down to wrap his arms around Matt's shoulders with a sigh as he peered at what he'd been working on. With a swell of pride, he saw that several pages had already been used.

Zane nudged the side of Matt's head with his own. ❝Was there a reason you've been drawing in the dark this whole time? You're already practically blind,❞ he teased lightly, his voice a low rumble close to Matt ear… and then, he was already pressing a kiss against the others jaw, a couple against his neck, breathing him in. Zane just couldn't help himself.

so @blunderbussin gave me an excuse to write an essay about hirasawa and im going to do that instead of anything impactful with my life and it's going to probably get stupid long. oopsie

So the aspect of Hirasawa that intrigues me the most is the lore surrounding the interactive live shows, a form of storytelling he's more or less pioneered. While there seems to be no particular overarching story (anymore. but thats a story for another day), all the stories that are told by the different shows are loosely connected, sharing characters or referencing events in previous shows; as well as being supplemented by sporadic stories that Hirasawa writes about some of the characters.

And listen. When i say 'loosely connected' i mean i have spent hours and hours and hours with my closest friends (who are also hirasawa fans) trying to stitch these events into a semi-cohesive whole because this old man does not give two brass coins for any kind of continuity (and he's really loosey-goosey on any kind of details), which drives me absolutely insane because goddamnit i will make this stupid thing make sense all together.

Also there's really some pretty banger concepts in these lives: machines that enforce the reality of the world based on collective perception, totalitarian government ruled by an alien fern, the green nerve network (its really hard to explain), Sim City as a place, an echo of modern cities in a virtual universe, Layer-Green/Communo Hybridia, the digital sea, timeline hopping cyborgs with terminal self-loathing

anyway. this is a topic i could literally talk for hours about And I Have. i've spent so much time lovingly crafting theories only for them to have about a million holes shot through them because of some silly detail i completely forgot. oops. but im going to shut up for now before i get into the really deep/silly shit because if i speak about the ascii dragon or luuk sathwan khondiaw i will literally never ever shut up. i am a dork

taking some inspo from @youmaycallmeyourhighness and doing a WIP Wednesday for heir (ap)parent:

“You didn’t even notice the lock was busted,” Ekko says with a laugh. “You were never gonna last in this thing.” His kneecap is next, sheerly for the pain of it. Finn’s urge to scream is cut short by his own anatomy, his now-cracked ribs shoving any cry he’d make back down his throat. After a blow to the stomach, he’s ready to beg, wheezing out slurred words of apology. It is, in a way, satisfying after those moments when Ekko truly thought he was going to die, and after the many more spent sitting in the hospital, listening to the beeping of the monitors and the nurses chatting in the hall and contemplating how he’d found himself in that bed—wondering, genuinely, if Beaumont power would trump Silco’s and he wouldn’t ever wake up any time he drifted off to sleep. There’s a part of Ekko that wants to be that benevolent side of the coin, the angel to Silco’s demon, but he knows not only that he’s on direct orders to drag Finn back to Zaun and make him pay but also that any goodwill, any mercy that’s been cultivated by his time spent with Powder and the people she’s surrounded herself with had run dry long ago. At least when it comes to this.

☆Anyway— it starts off with Dust, Killer and Horror being sent on a mission to retrieve something from the star sanses, I haven’t decided what yet. And they end up fighting them in a poppy field. At some point during the fight, Dust gets killed by one of the stars, I’m thinking Swap but I might change that. He wakes up in a black void, nothing in sight. As he’s wondering where he is, he hears a voice, it sounded like a young girl. The girl said one thing, “reset” and Dust was about to speak when he suddenly passed out. He woke up again in his room, he thought it must of been some kind of crazy dream. He left his room and went downstairs to where the others were. That’s when he realised that the events he had already experienced were repeating themselves, as of he had gone back in time. He recognised this as a form of reset. He once again went on the mission and successfully dodged what had killed him previously, only to be killed in a different way. He woke up in the void again. This time he spoke immediately, “Who are you!?”. The girl responded, “You’ll find out soon” and the day was reset again. He woke up and saw a poppy flower wrapped around his hand. He was beginning to freak out. He kept on dying and more poppies were found on him each time. After he died around 10 times, the multiverse began to change, as in things would be slightly different. For example, in one of them, a sans that is good might be evil instead, or the other way round. The girl told him he needed to gain enough determination from others so he could reset the whole multiverse back to normal. This meant he would have to kill people who had determination so he could take it for himself. Every time he would die after he gained more determination, he would see a red reset button being formed, but he couldn’t use it yet. The more times he died without gaining any determination, poppies would appear on the button. If too many were on it, he wouldn’t be able to use it. So he had to gain as much determination ad possible without dying too much. At a certain point, the multiverse had been messed up so much that he needed to quickly get the determination, so he thought of who had a lot of determination. He thought of Killer. He didn’t exactly want to kill him but he needed to, so he did. And he then had enough determination to use the reset. He used it but in the process, he died, his body almost covered in poppies. He woke up in the poppy field. His appearance altered. He had a singular poppy growing from his right eye socket, and his hoodie was red. He heard a voice in his head, the voice of the girl, who he now knew was called Unikko, meaning Poppy in Finnish. And from then on the lore is kind of unfinished for now😅☆

       After Matt had disappeared through the window, Zane had simply finished packing his things—along with anything else stored there that could be important—and left the safe house for the last time. Of course he'd needed to designate it as compromised. The heir to the Black Dragon Clan knew about it, after all. Matt may have let Zane go, but he was clearly deepy suseptible to his clan's whims. Considering how bad it had ended up for him the last time he'd trusted Matt blindly, he wasn't about to make a mistake like that again.

       Regardless, after finally seeing him again after all this time, after gaining some certainty in whether or not Matt still felt anything for him ... Zane couldn't get the boy he still he'd once loved out of his head. All the various scenarios, all of the ways things could have ended, for better or worse, plagued his mind, and even his dreams. Matt's rich dark eyes haunted him and it was almost embarrassing how many times he found himself wondering what would've happened if he'd given into temptation. If he'd simply shoved Matt up against that wall again — but this time, to capture his lips with his own rather than pressing a blade to his throat.

       He thought of Matt's laybored breathing, his reactions at the slightest gestures, he thought of Matt's hands in Zane's hair, Matt's fingers curled into his jacket while he kissed like he was starving to death ...

       It would've resulted in getting gutted by those sharp blades of his, Zane often scolded himself. It was the possibility that he could be wrong that always brought the fantasy back with a vengeance.

       Zane kept a close watch on Matt now that he knew where he was and what he was doing. Most of the time, it was strictly business — but after catching just a glimpse of him training fucking shirtless once, he knew it could never be strictly business between them. When they were young, Matt had been skinnier; lean muscled and strong regardless, but at a glance, he'd always seemed a bit scrawny, until you looked closer.

       As an adult, he'd long since grown into his height, grew more muscle. He was still incredibly lean, but there was no chance you'd mistake him as scrawny anymore. Mercifully, he was thoroughly distracted by how that made him feel once he noticed the fresh wounds and bruises that adorned his bare skin, however.

       Zane knew battle wounds and, from what he could see, these were nothing like that. It looked as though Matt had simply let someone hurt him, over and over again — and, in a horrible flash, he thought, was this the consequences of letting him go? Of failing to neutralize the threat? Was he once again the reason for someone else's misery? Despite how hard he tried to convince himself that Matt's personal business was not his problem, he found himself climbing up to the roof of a building, his eyes keen as they swept over his surroundings ... until they settled on the back of a familiar figure.

Zane approached him cautiously, knowing full well that taking Matt by surprise could no doubt be lethal. He was still several feet away when he cleared his throat. ❝Still scaling rooftops, I see,❞ he rasped, his tone conveying a calm and casual demeanor that he very much did not feel.

“I tried to just let myself get absorbed in the work, when I could. Kinda hard to make a game out of most of the tasks when it’s just me, but…there’s the satisfaction of a job well done, I guess. Even if I hadn’t wanted the job.”

“Oh, I imagined a lot. Mostly ways to get under noogai’s skin. Heh, some of them I even pulled off. It…ah, usually didn’t…end well for me, though. I’d…I’d quiet down after that, for a bit. Until it all got to me again and I lost it…again.”
