Here's how to spot a Mad Scientist:
Is very smart in a specific field
Probably hasn't slept in the past 4 days
Depressed
Slowly decends into madness/spirals/gets obsessed over something to the point where they destroy their lives over it
Here are other minor signs you might want to look out for (doesn't apply to all Mad Scientist):
Very pathetic. A loser, if you will
Is gay
Wears glasses
Has a best friend who is extremely friendly and also a poet
Graying hair despite their relatively youthful appearance
Can be a little bit silly (as a treat)
Note that not all Mad Scientists are actual scientists. The Mad Scientist can be disguised as something else and may try to trick you; do not be fooled. Look for these traits to identify a real wild Mad Scientist.
Now you are ready to go out into the wild and find your very own Mad Scientists to hyperfixate on for the next month! Hope this helped❀

Rabid fucking dog x that one guy that tamed it will forever be one of my fav tropes
And I mean character A LITERALLY gets treated as a guard dog by character B
A(dog) who hears someone say smthn bad about B(tamer) and has them backed against the wall about to beat the ever loving shit out of them when A hears a low whistle and immediately stands up straighter, backing off to fall in line behind B.
B who uses A as an actual fucking threat, while A stands menacingly right behind them, staring and waiting for B's signal to pounce

big fan of characters who are guard dogs. different from characters who were made to be weapons, characters who are also made to be loyal. who are made to obey. who are made to kill ruthlessly when told, to defend when told. characters who are on a leash and who have long stopped trying to pull free (if they ever tried in the first place). characters who are not just weapons, but guard dogs. who don't belong to themselves, who are purely seen as an asset, to keep alive as long as it keeps being useful. who was made to find purpose in their usefulness. characters who are lost and directionless once they're free to make their own choices. free to say no.

older sibling characters that have been dealt with the shittiest of cards in life, who struggle to keep their family afloat, who have witnessed grief and tragedy at a young age that will later force them to develop a hard exterior in order to protect themselves from the cruelties of the world. older sibling characters with a chip on their shoulder. older sibling characters who are overprotective of their younger siblings because they fear the world will be even crueler to those they love.
older sibling characters with anger issues and are meanspirited because they refuse to let the narrative soften them after all the shit they went through.

That very specific character pairing where they're both broken, but one thinks "I can fix them!" and in the process is forced to also fix themselves. Drink their own medicine, lead by example, self-reflect when trying to show the other why they're loved/worthy of being loved... Healing you is healing myself

When character A, who doesn't know affection, has a teammate or frien, B fling their arms around xem - maybe after a traumatic experience, or A said something xe didn't realise was sad, or maybe B was just really happy and wanted to share that joy.
and A just. freezes. Xyr mind flatlines, drawing a blank as xe tries to process what's happening. Then, slowly, xe returns the embrace and god, xe didn't know what xe was missing out on. When B goes to pull away, it's A who clings close, murmuring, "Just a little longer. Please."
Maybe the whole group make sure A get's plenty of hugs after that.
...Or maybe A goes missing, or A betrays the group soon after. Xe savoured that embrace not only because xe'd never had one, but because xe knew xe would never get it again.

an underrated trope is the arthur morgan/outlaw’s tragedy trope of a character devoting their entire life to something and getting the opposite as a result.
for example: arthur morgan devoting his entire life to living free and lawless but then dying young as a result of what he did to achieve that.

Another Medic Trope I noticed only for the Blu Medic!
Is the Sobbing-Medic-Trope.
This Trope only appears with the Blu Medic. I found out about this Medic years ago in wattpad I THINK. But I also found this trope in fanart of Blu Medic back then.
Why is he always crying...
Well, mainly because he is depressed about everything in his life. (Which I don't blame him at all)
But right now, I don't see that trope anymore.

Oh. You’re the brooding, grumpy, loner, and or all male character in a series? That’s nice. Where’s that weird little girl that you accidentally adopted?

The most heartbreaking character trope is the guy who makes his purpose in life fixing things, people, and bad circumstances, until eventually something tragic happens that he can’t fix and he cannot accept it. Even when everyone is already dead.

Yes, I see your “Wholesome character dies and develops the story along”, and I raise to you my “Wholesome character is the only character that didn’t die, becoming a villain to themselves”

so what if former leader of some type of group in a conflict (battalion commander, ship captain, revolution leader etc) haunted by the guilt of all their friends and companions who died and blames themself and feels like a failure meets with a surviving member of said group who falls into their arms and holds them tight because they were the only strength in their life and gave them hope even when everyone else died
