Thinking about the fact that, to pull Gale from the stone and get him in the game at all, you have to decide to try to touch an extremely dangerous looking swirling mass of unstable magic. Something that is, objectively, a terrible idea
Like, the options it gives you are to either touch the sigil or leave, and if you leave you just... don't get Gale in the party
You have to take the risk. You have to let your curiosity override your common sense. You have to look at this unstable, possibly dangerous malfunctioning magic sigil and go "...Ok, but what if I poke it?"
In short, to get Gale in your party, you have to do exactly what he would in that situation, and indulge in a moment of reckless curiosity. And I just think that's delightful
#meta#gale dekarios#gale of waterdeep#i'm positive this has all been said before but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#on a meta-gaming level of course it's just a matter of committing to the bit#the equivalent of that time in an actual dnd game when i said ''idk guys this sounds like a plot hook. we should probably go check it out''#but on a watsonian/character level? objectively not a great choice safety-wise#my husband for instance completely missed gale at first because he went ''...i'm not touching that thing it seems dangerous''#and idk. i just kinda love that for him. perfect introduction. nice little litmus test for if you can handle his chaos lol

Something funny for your spy x family ASL au
Luffy took ONE look at loid and internally went 'oh sweet. He's a spy like sabo' and never brings it up while anya just stares at him horrified and like with ace and sabo, he just never brings it up.
This also happens with yor and anya makes a funny noise
(As i am typing this my dog has the zoomies and is running around like a maniac)
HAHA YEAH THIS WOULD DEFINITELY HAPPEN
I think loid’s a good enough actor that luffy wouldn’t figure it out immeditely from like just a few seconds of meeting him but give him a minute or a few and he’ll figure it out on vibes alone
#one piece#spy x family crossover#monkey d luffy#anya forger#the problem with writing luffy is I am very bad at writing him#I’m much much better at general like…… reasoning and rationale and so my writing style just does not mesh well with luffy#I don’t like that luffy seems so often to act as just a judge of character or human goodness litmus test#because while his judgement on who is good has been mostly correct up to this point it has also mostly been arbitrary#I think my excuse for luffy being able to tell so quickly in sxf crossover what secret identities people are hiding#mostly comes down to being more perceptive than people give him credit for and having ridiculous intuition#I don’t think he consciously registers clues or anything but I do think his brain catalogues a lot of details that come together eventually#so-called ‘vibes’ I guess#but yeah Anya has absolutely no clue how he’s doing it because he also has no clue how he’s doing it

Emilia has become a true litmus test for me for whether I should take someone's opinions on rezero seriously. Liking her or disliking her is fine, but man the constant "Emilia dumb" or "waiting too long" or "useless character" grinds on me a lot.
#Small jokes and criticisms on her writing is totally fine#I have plenty of critiques about how her characters been handled#But its interesting how the people who give the most harsh critiques are the most guilty of writing off genuine character growth#the vollachia arc offers as a similar litmus test too just with slightly less misogyny

Do you think Orym will eventually take a paladin class, or will he stay fighter all the way through? I personally want him to stay fighter, I think it’d be nice to have a character with a connection to a god even if it’s not like “formalized” or whatever
Absolutely no way to know, but I agree that at least at this time, I'd rather see Orym stay purely a fighter. I think it's interesting and important to show characters who have a relationship to a deity that isn't the source of their powers (not that the Relic of the Red Solstice Exalted Seedling isn't cool, but he could get another powerful sword if he wanted...Ishta is still in the bag of holding, after all) and I think that the way he described his relationship, as partners rather than a worshiper, feels like he is not planning on swearing any oaths.
#answered#Anonymous#the best thing about characters with swords is of course that swords are awesome#the second best thing is they serve as a litmus test of who actually likes this character#if they hate every sword-based decision then you know they LOATHE that character and are pretending they like them#(this is a sidebar but thinking about ishta reminded me)#cr tag#orym

Exaggerated teeth and general wacky proportions#Who also watched Wreck-It Ralph at a formative age#I guarantee there'll be at least One (1) character you can reliably redraw your sona over and it'll fit

Question:
Would the Aziraphale of season 2, in both the present day and the flashbacks, EVER have agreed to The Arrangement?
Would this Aziraphale have been content to perform temptations on behalf of Hell to make his life easier?

How would your OC describe their style of dress? How intentional is their look? What are you trying to convey with your OC's fashion sense?
#tag your oc#oc questions#original character creation#character development#i know i said these are inspired by the mary-sue litmus test but reading it started pissing me of for REAL.

#I think he looks ugly in the trained because he is ugly you think he looks ugly in the trained bc you wanted a maximalist card we r not the#same. I think liking that card & story is a litmus test for whether or not u get him as a character#also even if the trained DID suck (it doesn’t) the untrained is still like. peak tsukasa.#idgaf argue with the wall it’s a good card#mine#tsukasa

Holy smokes tlww is killing me like???
You technically know where they're coming from and you can't really judge them because they're acting based on their nature, "Wilbur" was born to copy Wilbur's every mannerisms and absolutely affection-starved, no sense of healthy relationships, "Technoblade" prioritizes self-preservation due to what they have experienced in wars and backlash from those who discovered them, "Tommy" is a literal demon from the depths of hell nuff said, Philza— well he's just trying not to die like who wouldn't when your sons are now not-sons
But also in the ethical viewpoint of say society they're also very wrong? But not? Like, in the system of seeing things in black and white they're a very mucky inky grey? Like heck naw I'm not excusing you but gosh if I was in your situation I'd probably have done worse? Because in the end it all boils down to their own survivals? Who's to say that following instinctual nature is an evil thing?
Jsjskskakanwkw we love the stories that challenge morality we eat that up
Morality is so context driven, and in a very real way these are horrible evil monsters doing really atrocious stuff. But yeah, they don’t know better, they don’t have the context needed to be better. Ignorance and instincts and trauma can explain bad behavior, and for some people it can justify it. I wanted to see just how far I could stretch reader sympathy for them using that premise.
And I think the real test of morality will be if, once exposed to kindness, the monsters can learn and CHOOSE to be better, or if their instincts and trauma will define them.
#Plus then there’s Philza as a litmus test of character#Since he does not in the slightest have the same in depth understanding of the imposters’ trauma like the reader does#sbi#sbi au#dsmp#tommyinnit#philza#technoblade#mcyt#The lambs wolves wear#something to nom on
