HEAR ME
A communication spell to get someone to hear you out and recognize that you're telling the truth, without their own misinterpretation/biases or those of others twisting their understanding
Tools/components
🕯️ matches/barbeque lighter
🕯️ fire safe dish + fire starter
🕯️ herbs (more info below)
🕯️ white candle
🕯️ thyme or rosemary oil
🕯️ piece of paper + marker/pen
🕯️ object that represents the target of the spell (a taglock, poppet, photo, etc) that can be burned safely; if you have nothing and can't get/make anything, you can simply write their full name (and/or other identifying info) on the paper
🕯️ (optional) the Justice tarot card (or any other tarot/oracle card you associate with truth, fairness, patience, accountability, etc)
Herbs
The only herb "crucial" to this spell is thyme (which is associated with truth,) but you can add any other herbs you think would be useful—some suggestions are:
🌿 rosemary (for unclouded judgement)
🌿 sage (for wisdom)
🌿 clove (for clarity and banishing negativity)
🌿 nettle (for stopping gossip)
🌿 lemon peel (for removing emotional/energetic blockages)
Instructions
Dress the candle with the oil and light it
On the piece of paper, write a "letter" addressed to your target—something clear and direct, commanding them to listen and explaining whatever it is you want them to understand
Place your object (or letter) in front of you (on top of your cards, if you're using any,) and place the herbs around it
Charge the herbs with their relevant correspondences, then focus on the target while channeling your energy/intent into the object
With the dish in front of you, light your fire starter; as the fire gets going, read what you have written (aloud or in your head—whichever you are comfortable with/capable of) and add your herbs to the dish
When you're done reading, fold the letter up and throw it on the flames, along with your object
When the fire has died down and the dish has cooled, dispose of the spell components however you see fit (I personally use the need-fire [recipe? method?] which I found through @the-cobalt-athenaeum, and since it's literally mostly salt, there are ways I can't dispose of it if I don't want to repurpose it)
Leave the (still lit) candle somewhere you can see it, and let it burn itself all the way down
As always, exercise proper fire safety when doing spellwork
NOTE: this spell is not necessarily designed to actively sway someone's opinion or push them towards making a certain decision—rather, it's to give them accurate and honest information which, depending on what they choose to do with it, may or may not affect their perspective or actions. Then again, if you want to spin the spell that way, you certainly can.
Also, there's a lot of room for personal touches in this spell, based on your practice, experience, or desired outcome. Use different herbs, invoke a deity, write a full incantation or chant instead of a letter, change the colour of the candle (or omit it entirely)—whatever it is, I highly suggest you add your own personal touches, and I fully endorse you going hog wild with it if that's what you want to do.

Freelancing web dev/designer here! I wanna add some tools and more resources to this list for everyone. Hopefully this is more exciting than it is intimidating. Webpage creation can be fun and useful - especially for those looking to build their own online portfolios as social media gets worse and worse for indies/small businesses fighting the constantly changing climate of algorithms and other corporate junk.
More casually, go and make that fan page you’ve always wanted. Start somewhere - anywhere! My first websites back in 2007 - 2010 were for virtual pet site fan pages, an American Dragon: Jake Long page begging for a season 3, my own made up adoptable pets, and a free virtual pet site of my own that used a cool tool that existed back then.
Modern design is actually cleaner to work with, more accessible, and you can still be as creative as you want despite what professional websites adhere to for their marketing standards. Lots has changed and improved since I first started...
Educational Resources
MDN Web Docs | Similar to W3Schools, might be a preferred format for some to learn from as an option. Full of interactive examples and detailed explanations!
CSS Tricks Guides | Visual articles with organized categories for each property and value involved! I always reference their Flexbox guide since flexbox stuff gets confusing to write by pure memory each time.
Kevin Powell’s YouTube | A chill channel I’m a fan of that web devs can appreciate at any level of experience! He’s got shorts for fast solutions, full troubleshooting guides, reviews for annual developer surveys, and advocates for more diversity in the web development scene that isn’t white guys such as himself. Super welcoming, friendly, and won’t talk down to you for trying to learn. The link is his playlist category that’s good for beginners out there, for your convenience.
CodePen | A massive gallery of code snippets that other developers have created and shared for free viewing/tinkering. You can find insane CSS-made art and animations on here, JavaScript samples, and more!
Accessibility Guide | Making your website accessible is an important step in designing a page for anyone to see. Many types of disabled people surf the internet with accessibility devices such as screen readers. Those with more limited internet (speed, bandwidth, etc.) can also benefit from these standards.
Epilepsy Guide | A specific form of accessibility that’s important to consider as well. If you have moving, flashing, and otherwise visually stimulating content, look through this for solutions to make your pages safer to look at.
Meta Tag Guide | A beginner-friendly guide with examples of how HTML meta tags affect the way your public site and its pages will show up in search results.
SEO Guide | SEO is an abbreviation of Search Engine Optimization. This is good to learn if you’re a serious designer who needs your page to show in search results. Important for those of you out there making business and/or portfolio pages. 100% use your username, business name, and other unique (but not private) identifying factors as keywords that will connect your page to being found along with your social profiles.
[Fun Fact: SEO is the reason behind food blogs sharing their whole anime backstory before the actual recipe... Hurrah]
Browser Extension Tools
ColorZilla | FireFox & Chrome | Select colors from webpages, analyze CSS colors on pages, generate gradient values for CSS, and save palettes. Provides hex and rgba color values too!
RGBlind | Firefox & Chrome | Simulate some types of color blindness on your website for accessibility purposes.
Colorblindly | Chrome Only | Simulate a wider range of color blindness types, but unfortunately not available on other browsers from what I’ve found.
Page Marker | Chrome Only | Write/draw anything you need for brainstorming your page’s development, right on top of it! The marker strokes stick to that point of the page and moves with it when you scroll.
Eye Dropper | Chrome Only | For selecting and picking colors off of web pages. Gives you the hex and rgba values on the spot!
Grayscale View | Chrome Only | Good for previewing shade values and contrast on your website for accessibility and readability purposes.
Other Tools
Visual Studio Code | Open Source program provided by Microsoft of all things! This comes with many built-in tools and functions to make HTML, CSS, JS, and other compatible languages be more convenient to work with. More cozy to work with than the manual tedium of organizing things within bare text editors. Color coded words, auto-stacking, arrows that help you be sure you have things closed up properly, and more! Definitely look through its extensions shop for anything you think would help you in the ways you need for development.
openElement | Create web pages without coding. Can be good for planning how your website is laid out, or to make something without the knowledge required! I haven’t used it myself, but it looks promising.
Accessibility Checklist | A superbly handy way to track your website’s depth and level of accessibility. The + buttons give descriptions/suggestions for each item on the list to make improvements for your website.
Photo-sensitivity Analysis Tool | A free program that analyses content on your pages for any risks of epilepsy and other photo-sensitive complications among viewers. Important for accessibility!
That’s about all I can put together at this time. Be free! Go wild! The internet is still ours to build in - not just big corps, scammers, or bots.

How to make cannabis tincture
What is a cannabis tincture?
A tincture in the most essential sense is a cannabis separate, in which a fluid is mixed with cannabis, implied for sublingual utilization, not vaporization or smoking. The cannabis plant absorbs a base fluid, for example, food-grade liquor, glycerin, or even oil, and following quite a while of soaking, the plant matter is stressed out and — presto! The cannabinoids, terpenes, and different mixtures have merged with the base fluid, prepared to portion and consume.
In fact, the expression "tincture" explicitly alludes to liquor based item and one made with oil or glycerin is an "implantation," however we're involving it as an umbrella term here.
In the grown-up use market, tinctures ordinarily come in 1 fl oz (30mL) glass bottles with droppers to manage low and predictable dosages. Since they are not viewed as a food thing, they can surpass the 100 mg THC cap on edibles in many business sectors.
Tinctures may not appear to be essentially as tomfoolery or inventive as a sticky or a spot, however they have a large number of medical advantages while as yet offering a happy with, inebriating experience.
Come figure out how to make your own custom made cannabis tincture utilizing a straightforward cold liquor (ethanol) extraction strategy with our bit by bit guide. I've included a lot of photographs to make the interaction as understood and simple to follow as could really be expected. There is likewise a printable rundown toward the end - however I would think you'll prefer not to miss the additional tips in the body of the post.
Tinctures are a helpful, circumspect, and simple method for partaking in your plant medication. It's kinder to your lungs than smoking or disintegrating, and offers more controlled and steady dosing contrasted with smoking or custom made edibles. (I love that I can take only a couple of drops if necessary.) You can utilize this hand crafted cannabis tincture recipe with any of your #1 cannabis strains, with CBD hemp just, or as we do - with local spice!
What sort of liquor to make natively constructed cannabis tincture?
It is ideal to utilize either 200-proof food grade ethanol (otherwise known as ethyl liquor) or 190-proof Everclear liquor for this cannabis tincture recipe. Both are solid regular solvents that will successfully strip and separate the ideal cannabinoids from the plant material. We use USDA natural ethanol from Culinary Solvents. It is unadulterated food-grade grain liquor, and contains no added substances or water. Use code "deannacat" to save 10% off pints, quarts, and gallons of ordinary and natural ethanol from Culinary Solvents!
Lower-proof liquor (for example 80 proof vodka) is a more fragile dissolvable and furthermore has a higher water content than ethanol, which can disrupt the extraction and tincture-production process. You actually can make hand crafted cannabis tincture with vodka or other lower proof alcohol, however it requires extra advances that we won't cover in this article.
Supplies Expected to Make a Natively constructed Cannabis Tincture
8 grams of decarbed cannabis
6 ounces of 200-proof food grade ethyl liquor (ethanol) or 190 proof Everclear
Cooler safe glass compartments, for example, wide-mouth half quart artisan containers or half-16 ounces containers with tops.
Little unbleached espresso channels, similar to these ones
Cheesecloth
Advanced Scale
Dropper jugs to store your completed tincture. We like these 2-ounce golden jugs; the droppers have mL markers on them for precise dosing.
Yields: 2 ounces of hand crafted cannabis tincture
Kindly note that this is a two-day process, however fixings are simply sitting in the cooler for 97% of that time.
Directions
Stage 1: Decarb your cannabis
To decarb cannabis, fire by destroying the buds into tiny pieces. Then, at that point, spread it out equitably on a baking sheet. For THC-predominant strains, heat the cannabis in the broiler at 250°F for 25 to 30 minutes. For high-CBD strains, heat it for 40 to 50 minutes at a similar temperature. (It takes somewhat longer for CBDA to switch over completely to CBD than THCA to THC does.) In the event that you're utilizing an even THC:CBD strain, compromise at 30 to 35 minutes. See this article for a more top to bottom gander at decarbing cannabis.
Try not to need to smell up the house? Consider involving a Passionate Nova gadget for a simple, almost scent free decarboxylation experience. We just got one as of late and love it!
Note that your cannabis will diminish in weight somewhat during the decarb cycle (as it gets drier). Thus, begin with a couple of additional grams so you'll wind up with the 8 grams required for this cannabis tincture recipe. Or then again, prepare bounty so you have sufficient extra to make hand crafted cannabis oil or effective ointment!
Stage 2: Freeze Cannabis and Liquor (independently)
Utilize a scale to weigh out 8 grams of decarbed cannabis. Add the cannabis to a cooler safe glass holder with a cover. We like to utilize a wide-mouth half quart glass container. (Despite the fact that it appears to be more than huge enough, the additional room in the container makes it simpler to shake contrasted with a half-16 ounces container.) Next add 6 ounces of ethanol to a different cooler safe holder. Try not to blend the liquor and cannabis yet. Put the two compartments in the cooler for no less than 24 hours.
Stage 3: Join Cannabis and Liquor (First Wash)
After the underlying 24 hours (or longer) is up, eliminate the cannabis and liquor from the cooler. Pour Just 50% of the cool liquor (3 ounces) into the compartment of frozen cannabis. Add a cover and shake overwhelmingly for 5 minutes. Enclose the container by a kitchen towel in the event that it's excessively cold to hold serenely.
This interaction extricates the cannabinoids and terpenes from the plant material, and is viewed as the "primary wash". We'll complete two rounds all out.
Presently return the cannabis-liquor combination as well as the different leftover 3 ounces of plain liquor to the cooler for 2 extra hours.
Stage 4: Shake and Strain
When the two hours are up, it's the ideal opportunity for another shake - and afterward we strain! Eliminate the container of blended cannabis and liquor from the cooler, and shake it again for 5 extra minutes. (We needn't bother with the container of plain liquor right now.)
Next we will strain the tincture through two mediums: cheesecloth first to channel the bigger plant material, and afterward a better espresso channel to additional eliminate undesirable lipids and other buildup.
First set up the espresso channel stressing station. We find it most straightforward to set a little espresso channel in the highest point of a different clean 16 ounces glass container, crease it over the edge of the container, and afterward screw on a top ring to hold it set up. The cannabis tincture requires a significant stretch of time to leak through the channel, so holding it by hand isn't entertaining.
Then, put cheesecloth over the container that contains the cannabis-liquor blend (we utilize the ring stunt once more) and gradually pour it through the cheesecloth and into the espresso channel container. See the photographs underneath.
Presently return the container of outstanding cannabis to the cooler while the main wash fluid is stressing through the espresso channel (around 10 minutes).
Stage 5: Second Wash and Strain
Presently it's the ideal opportunity for the second and last wash. This step helps extricate any last leftover cannabinoids from the plant material into your natively constructed cannabis tincture.
Get the container of cannabis that was in the cooler while the principal wash stressed (for around 10 minutes) and afterward rehash the washing/stressing process from stages 3 and 4. Once more add the excess 3 ounces of cold plain liquor to the cannabis container, add a top, shake vivaciously for 5 minutes, and strain through the cheesecloth and espresso channel - emptying it into a similar channel and container as the main wash.
Stage 6: Diminish
After all the fluid has stressed through the espresso channel into the container, now is the right time to decrease it by about around 50% of the volume. Overabundance liquor will handily dissipate off, and the outcome is a more focused and viable custom made cannabis surface.
Do this by essentially permitting the container to sit out at room temperature with the cover off for a few hours. We place the container before a fan to assist with facilitating the cycle. Note the volume of fluid in the holder when you start (utilize an elastic band around the container, or a glass checking pen). Watch out for it! When it diminishes significantly, add a top to stop further dissipation - or feel free to bottle your last custom made cannabis tincture.
Stage 7: Container and Store
Whenever it's decreased considerably, move the stressed cannabis concentrate to a last stockpiling bottle -, for example, these golden glass dropper bottles. Golden jugs are ideal since they lessen light openness, which debases cannabinoids. Store the jug in the fridge for the best dependable quality. Congrats, you just made a natively constructed cannabis tincture! Continue perusing for use and dosing data.
The most effective method to Utilize or Take a Cannabis Tincture
You can consume your cannabis tincture either under your tongue (sublingually) or blended in with a drink (oral ingestion). Sublingual utilization will bring about additional quick impacts, while oral ingestion will have a more slow beginning however longer-enduring outcomes. See the realistic underneath.
In any case, continue with some mindfulness! 200 proof ethanol is serious areas of strength for exceptionally, I find it creates a consuming uproar when applied straight under my tongue. To keep away from that, I put a tiny measure of water in my mouth first, spurt in the tincture, hold the weakened combination in my mouth for a couple of moments, and afterward swallow. Subsequently my admission is generally sublingual, however with a little oral ingestion as well.

Podcasts and Blogs. (8/22/14)
So if you were someone who knows me in person (or read a few posts of mine about a year or two ago), you would know that I listen to quite a few podcasts. And by a few I mean a lot. If you don't know what podcasts are, they are audio/video "talk shows". At least that's how I would describe them. I listen to knitting podcasts (shocker!), but I also listen to some book theme, news, photography, film, cooking, and pop culture ones. Now note that I listen to a lot of podcast and I like to listen to the older episodes if they are in my iTunes or if I can find them, which means I'm not caught up with most of them yet. But the ones I am caught up with I'll tell you about them (if they have a description on iTunes, I'll post what they say), give you a brief review, and let you know if they're still updating their feeds.
Podcasts that I recommend
Start Cooking- This podcast is short 5 minutes or more video showing you how to make certain recipes and new tips and tricks. I really like how the women explains each step clearly and she tells you some things you can replace other foods with. I'm not sure if this feed is up to date, I haven't gotten a new episode from this one in a while and I might have to go to the iTunes store page to update it my self.
Film Riot- "Film Riot is a how-to trip through filmmaking from the hyper-active mind of Ryan Connolly. From how to make great effects to following Triune Films through production, Film Riot explores the art of filmmaking in a way you've never seen."They have two episodes a week one on Mondays; where they answer questions and recommend a short video, and one on Thrusdays; where they review a new product/show how they do a certain effect/talk about a new short film they released. This is one that I make sure that I'm getting all the new episodes. The host and the camera man make the show very entertaining and interesting. Even though I don't do anything with film making I still find everything interesting. If you want to know more about this podcast, they are on iTunes and Youtube. They also have a Twitter account.
CaffeinatedKnitting- "Talk about knitting, spinning and crochet." The hostess is from TN, which was one reason why I checked her out, but I really enjoy her show. I'm always interested in what she talks about and love everything she makes. WARNING: She is an enableer, big time. Every time she shows some new yarn or fiber I get a major case of grabby hands. She updates as much as she can, to know when there is a new episode join her Raverly group and/or blog. Also follow here on Twitter.

She sews project bags and creates some beautiful stitch markers, and she has an esty shop where she sells them. To contact her, join her Raverly group and her Youtube channel.
A Night Bird- "A video podcast about kntting, crafting and homemaking through the seasons." This is a monthly podcast based in Germany. The hostess talks about what has happened with her crafty wise in the past month.(Knitting, sewing, etc.) She is such a lovely lady, part of me wishes she would podcast more then just monthly, but hey people have their own lives it can't be about knitting all the time. To contact her, join her Ravelry group and check out her blog.
KnitBritish- "Sharing woolly notions!" This too is a monthly podcast by Louise Scollay, who obviously is British. She's been knitting with only local British wool and she talks about how she does it in her podcast. To contact her, join her Ravelry group and check out her blog.
Knitting Butterflies- "Join me for my adventures in knitting, crochet, spinning, photography, and of course, parenting." The is a some what new podcast. SkeinAfterSkein- "Yarn! GIMME YARN! NOW! YARN! YARN! YARN! GIMME! NOW!" This podcast was really fun to listen to, but there hasn't been a new episode in a few months. Just two friends talking about all their projects from knitting, crochet, and sewing. To contact them: join their Ravelry group and/or their blog.
This American Life-"Official free, weekly podcast of the award-winning radio show 'This American Life.' First-person stories and short fiction pieces that are touching, funny, and surprising. Hosted by Ira Glass, from WBEZ Chicago Public Media, and distributed by Public Radio International. In mp3 and updated Mondays." Well, the iTunes description pretty much sums up everything. The short stories they tell are really entertaining and fascinating. If you enjoying hearing people tell their stories then you will enjoy this podcast. You can find this on iTunes.
A Homespun House- "Homespun knitting podcast is hosted by your friend Molly. Stop by every Thursday for chatter, knit-a-longs, project sharing, questions, and your own personal enjoyment !!!!" Also another descirption that pretty much tells you everything about the podcast. Again if you love storytelling, then this podcast is for you. You can find it on iTunes.
Books on the Nightstand-"A conversational podcast about books, from two longtime veterans of the publishing industry. If you love to read, this podcast is for you. Find show notes at http://yarncraft.lionbrand.com!" This was a really nice podcast about the Lion Brand Company, but they no longer release new episodes. If you want to listen to the older episodes find this podcast on iTunes.
NPR: Books Podcast- "NPR book reviews, news and author interviews -- for people who love to read. The best of Morning Edition, All Things Considered and other award-winning NPR programs." This is my second favorite book podcast. It's shorter then Books on the Nightstand but you still get a lot of information. You can find this podcast on iTunes.
CRAFTCAST- "On Craftcast.com, host Alison Lee takes you through the world of Crafting, from interviews, product reviews, and do it yourself tutorials. Craftcast.com is the only podcast where you can listen, learn, and create!" I've learned about a lot of other crafts from this podcast over the years. She hasn't posted a new episode in a while but she does every once in a while. You can find this podcast on iTunes.
Stash and Burn- "Nicole and Jenny, two San Francisco knitters, talk about yarn, books, patterns, blogs, and ways to deal with life under the weight of the stash. Jenny has been knitting since 2005 and Nicole's had work on the needles since 2002. Join the duo as they get together each week to talk about the subject that consumes them." I really like this podcast, it was one of the first knitting podcasts I had listened to. They don't podcast as much as they just to but when they do I really enjoy everything they say. To contact them: join their Ravelry group.
Drum Corps International Field Pass- "Drum Corps International (DCI) is the world leader in producing events for the world's most elite and exclusive marching ensembles for student musicians and performers. Field Pass presented by Zildjian is Drum Corps International's official podcast featuring award-winning host Dan Potter. With fresh episodes available daily throughout the summer on iTunes and DCI.org, Field Pass gives you an inside look at Marching Music's Major League; from the parking lot, to the stadium tunnel to the 50-yard line!" Of course I would listen to this. I've listened to this since I found it my 10th year in high school. Being in Marching band I loved this and still love it. It makes me miss band more and more I listen to it. To find this podcast, follow the links in the description above.
Knit Picks' Podcast- "Kelley Petkun, owner of Knit Picks, carries on a one-side conversation as she ponders the joys, challenges and rewards of complete immersion in today's fiber community. Amigurumi (crochet) egg recipe
Disclaimer: I’ve never done amigurumi before this. Frankly I’m not even sure if that’s how it’s spelled. This was very much ‘fuck around and find out’ and this isn’t a super technical step guide.
QUICK EDIT: If you’re confused at any point, or you just happen to see this as someone who’s been wanting to get into crochet, this channel here is great! Robin explains things very clearly and does her best to go slow to show you what she’s doing. She’s the reason my mom and I were able to actually get into crochet, after our first attempts some years ago ended in confusion and disappointment.
Definitely don’t recommend trying this as your first crochet project though. Circles are confusing. Try squares first.
- yarn. i don't know what weight it was but it wanted a 5mm hook
- 5mm hook
- something to be used as a stitch marker, unless you want to live dangerously. Not quite as necessary if you do rings instead of a continuous spiral, but i did a spiral and there's no way in hell i was going to be able keep track of my stitches just in my head
- Some sort of stuffing. I gutted an old pillow that was already designated as crafting material.
I am using *US* crochet terms.
1. Magic circle. chain 1
2. Into the magic circle goes 6 single crochet
3. Tighten magic ring. If you're not doing a spiral, slipstitch the 6 stitch to the 1.
4. Into each of those 6 stitches, do an increase. You should now have 12 stitches. I will not be counting after this because god gives me no brain space for such things.
5. Start your next row with an increase. 1 single crochet. Repeat all the way around.
6. Two rows of only single crochet. I did the first row in the back leg, and the second row in the front leg, to create a funky tactile pattern. You do not have to. You can do normal rows. Make your egg how you wanna make your egg.
7. Start your next row with an increase. Then, 2 single crochet stitches. Repeat all the way around.
8. Repeat step 6
9. Start you next row with an increase. Then, 3 single crochet stitches. Repeat all the way around.
10. Repeat step 6 again.
11. Start your next row with an increase. Then, 4 single crochet stitches. Repeat all the way around.
12. Repeat step 6.
13. Now we’re working backwards! Start your next row with a decrease, then do 4 single crochet stitches. Repeat all the way around.
14. Repeat step 6.
15. Decrease -> 3 single crochet. Repeat around.
16. Repeat step 6.
17. Decrease -> 2 single crochet. Repeat around.
18. Decrease -> 1 single crochet. Repeat all the way around.
19. Stop! Get your stuffing and stuff that bitch!!!! It’s going to be very difficult to stuff it once you do the last row! I turned mine so the tail from the magic ring was on the inside, so I wouldn’t have to worry about it again. Make sure you pack it full of fluff. More fluff makes better stress ball egg
20. Decreases all the way around. You should end with only 6 stitches.
21. ‘Tie off’ your work, giving yourself a fairly long tail. Do yourself a favor and weave the end in a bit. Then tuck in inside your egg. No waste. Only egg.
Ta-da! EGG
Here’s a second one I made for grandpa. I am required to Squish for Quality Assurance, and yes! It is smaller! Likely due to the yarn I used being a different weight than the first kind. Oh well. Grandpa liked it
I made an egg
I’m gonna make another one (grandpa wants stress ball egg) and once I manage to recreate Egg I will give a pattern
#Crochet#amigurumi#EG#I think I’m going to make another one without the funky tactile texture stuff#at some point maybe

How to help yourself when you feel helpless
🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
brief disclaimer TW: self harm
these may work for you and not for others. no hurt in trying.
Create a safe space. this can be anything you like. a blanket on the floor, a corner of your room a pile of your favourite stuffed animals. a big hoodie. a comfortable blanket. anything that makes you feel comfortable and safe. my favourite is my tiles with my stuffies. i spend lots of time on the floor!
Cook yourself a new recipe. personally i do this one because i love to go out of my comfort zone, when i’m feeling low i like to cook things i normally eat just with new spices or whatever i have in my cupboards! an example is spicy noodles, sometimes i’ll add some fried veggies or a fried egg, other times i will make a whole new meal!
Do something spontaneous. this can be anything safe! go for a run, i personally like to run until my muscles hurt when i’m really upset. it’s a form of productive self harm. your muscles will be sore but they will heal. it’s a way of channeling the bad brain into a physical pain.
Express yourself with colors. this one is fun. grab your nearest drawing or coloring utensil and some paper and scribble. i scribble and scratch until i feel better. this can be one drawing or 7 whatever helps.
Go outside and scream. the nabours won’t care. i don’t care. scream until you feel better.
Ice therapy. take ice and put it on areas of your skin that will hurt or sting a bit. take it off when it hurts (you don’t want frostbite) you can put this on your wrists, inside of your elbows, your tummy, anywhere you’d want to SH.
Take a marker and color on yourself. preferably a washable one. write things you hate about yourself or your body or the world. then SCRIBBLE IT OUT. best thing about this is you can wash it off.
🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
that’s all thanks for reading. and i hope this helps💗

Gods of Twilight - 15
Alpha!Werewolf!Sam x Human!Reader
Master List (posting schedule is there as well)
Summary: You marry Sam, The King of Lebanon, as part of an alliance between two lands. You soon discover that nothing is as it appears and that your husband is hiding a secret that may end your relationship before it can begin.
Warnings: smut, dub-con, canon-level violence, domestic discipline, spanking. This chapter does contain some non-con elements.
Beta: @ilikaicalie
*This story is complete. All 27 chapters are available on Patreon. To get access to this and many other stories, subscribe for a pledge of 2.50 per month. CLICK HERE
-
Outside of your private moments together, Sam has always been rather gruff. But even those not in on his secret must know that something is amiss. He’s beyond irritable, yelling at the servants, sending back all his meals muttering about how nothing tastes right.
His rut is fast approaching, but you’re holding firm to your choice to stay with him.
-
“Deep breath in,” the midwife instructs, pressing on your stomach as you lie back on the bed. She palpates your belly, searching for some elusive marker of your fertility. “How often are you together?”
“Often,” you can’t help but grin. “Much more frequently than before.”
“You’re in good health. I have faith you’ll be with a child soon.” She smiles. “It takes longer for some.”
“Martha,” you whisper. There’s no one else in the room but what you’re about to ask is not a request you want one of your handmaids overhearing. They’re waiting in the hall with sharp ears. You know all too well from the gossip they disclose to you on a daily basis. They’re always listening. The servants are the breath and life of the castle, and any scrap of information spreads like wildfire. “I was once told of a concoction that midwives give to women during labor. A drink that helps to ease the pain.”
“Yes, I have my own recipe. Not to worry m’lady, when the time comes it will help.” She sits up, patting your hand.
“Well, I was wondering if you could bring the herbs to me now...today?” You try to remain nonchalant, but her interest is peaked as she sits back.
“Are you in pain, madam?” she inquires, looking toward the closed door. Discretion is vital to her position and she knows how to keep her mouth shut.
“I am not at the moment, but there are times when I am. There is something I need to do for my husband...that I need your help with.” You watch her eyes narrow as you struggle to explain yourself and in turn not make Sam look like some sort of monster. “It’s not what you imagine.”
“I don’t imagine anything. I make no assumptions, my queen. But if you’re experiencing pain when you’re with him, it could be a symptom of something more serious.”
You take a deep breath, trying in vain to hide your embarrassment.
“It’s hard to explain, exactly. But it’s not that I am sensitive in any way that’s abnormal. It’s just that my husband is very...large. And he has certain...demands that I find difficult. I expect him to become even more demanding in the coming days.”
Her eyes widen for a second, but if she’s truly shocked she doesn’t let it rattle her. She simply nods in agreement.
“Anything you need, I will supply. Give me a few hours to put together everything you’ll need.”
“I will need enough for several days,” you add.
She stills again, biting her tongue but confirming your request. “Then that’s what you shall have. I’ll send a messenger this afternoon.”
-
“I’ve asked you plenty of times brother and I’ll ask you again. Won’t you reconsider?”
“Why are you so dead set against me staying with my wife during my rut?” Sam looks to Dean, studying his brother.
“She is not one of us, can’t you see that?” Dean pleads for Sam to understand. “She’s a snake, Sam. Tell me you see it.”
“Stop.” Sam sits back in his chair, amused at the very notion. “Not this again.”
“A woman like that, with her beauty, doesn’t just give herself over for what she’s about to experience. Do you truly believe it’s by chance that you smelled her scent on a letter and then brought her here?”
“What is it that you think she’s up to?” Sam asks, his patience wearing thin. “Tell me. I’m listening. What great caper does she have planned? Will she scale the wall with the crown jewels tucked into her skirts?”
“Her greatest trick was convincing you that she’s harmless.”
“I’m sorry, but you’re wrong.” Sam purses his lips, ready for this conversation to be over.
“Was I wrong about Ruby?” Dean spits back and Sam goes rigid.
“Don’t start with me about Ruby.”
“Even after you knew what a snake she was you kept going back for more. Her affection for you is genuine but it’s tempered with insanity. Ruby was hungry for you, and your power, in equal measures.”
“But Y/N is not Ruby, not even close.”
“That is an unfounded statement. You don’t know anything about her. You married her on a whim and now she’s a human woman willing to withstand your rut. She’ll be the end of you.”
“You sound like father,” Sam retorts. He can’t help but be somewhat flummoxed, his brother is single-minded when it comes to you. “Is this the same nonsense you spouted to her at the cathedral that had her so upset?”
“Of course she came crying back to you. Anything to make her look like a victim.”
“No,” Sam shakes his head. “In fact, she wouldn’t tell me what you said. She kept your confidence even when I asked her to tell me.”
“She’s smart, brother. Intelligent and cunning. Mark my words, you’re going to regret this. What if you hurt her?”
“I won’t,” he shrugs. And he is as sure as he sounds, he’s taken all the necessary precautions. “Rupert mixed me a tincture to help keep me under control.”
“You were practically feral when you had me tie you up…”
“Of course I was. I was in the middle of a rut, unabated.”
“Well, you’ll have someone to fuck this time,” Dean hisses, pouring himself more wine.
“Dean, I need you to stop fixating on her. She’s a good woman and I care for her.”
“I know,” Dean nods, staring at the fire. “I’m just afraid we’re both going to see the day you regret that statement.
--
“Tonight?” You ask hesitantly, watching your husband pull his shirt over his head.
“By morning,” his eyes are locked on you, his muscles flexing as his body tightens, then releases. “Are you sure this is what you want?”
“Yes,” you affirm immediately.
The truth is you’ve never been more unsure of anything in your life. Dean’s words are knocking around in your head, but you trust Sam. He would never hurt you, and you believe in his ability to show restraint.
“Would you like to have me tonight?” you offer. His nostrils flare out, clearly excited by the idea. It’s a week since you’ve been together, he insisted on giving you a proper break.
“No, we should wait. This isn’t going to be easy for you.” He lifts his chin toward your side table. “The midwife brought the tea?” You nod in confirmation. “Drink it now. And have some prepared for later.”
“I will.” You pick up the mug, nearly choking on the bitter taste. “And you have your tincture?”
“Yes, I’ve already taken several doses,” he smiles, crawling into bed. “This will strengthen us. Bond us together, I can feel it in my bones. We’re meant to be together. Do you trust me?”
“Completely,” you assure him, closing your eyes as his forehead comes to rest against yours.
-
Blinking awake in the dark of the room, all you can feel is an overwhelming heat and stickiness engulfing you. It’s suffocating as you grunt awake, only to find you can hardly move.
Sam is wrapped around you from behind, his hips moving in a steady rhythm, pushing his stiff cock into the small of your back over and over again. He’s sweating like a beast, so much so that you’re practically drowning in him.
“Sam,” you whisper reaching behind to grab at his hip. He groans in response, clearly still asleep. “Sam,” you call his name again, this time giving him a squeeze.
He rouses behind you, stilling for a moment before shoving his hand between your bodies to fist his cock.
“Are you ready for me?” he asks, nipping at the shell of your ear. He might be half asleep, but at the moment he’s running on pure primordial instinct.
“Yes,” you hiss as he rolls you onto your back, sliding between your legs. He’s already naked and in a swift move so are you, as your nightdress is quickly discarded. There’s enough light to see his red-rimmed eyes, dark and deep as if he hasn’t slept in a week. His pallid, warm and clammy skin rubs against yours.
There’s no lead up to the deed, he just takes himself in his hand, blinking the sweat out of his eyes as he pushes his cock into your channel and slides inside until he can’t get any deeper. His belly is moving against yours as he finds a rhythm right from the start.
This doesn’t feel bad at all. If his rut is just this you’d have gladly offered yourself up long ago. The always challenging stretch of his cock fades into pleasure as the scratch of his pubic hair rubs against your bud with each stroke.
“You’re tight,” he mumbles, closing his eyes in concentration. “So good.”
His hot, open mouth finds yours, kissing you with each breath, tasting and teasing until you’re arching upward into his chest. One hand finds your breast, plucking at a sniff nipple until you’re whimpering into his mouth as his hips meet your inner thighs.
It’s quicker than normal, but you’re right there with him. Your orgasm crests, fluttering around his cock and moaning in delight until you are utterly limp, pinned in bed by the weight of his hips. It’s not long after he cums with a grunt, squeezing your breast in his hand as his knot pops wide and locks the two of you together.
You wish you would have been in unison. When the timing is just right, and you cum around his growing knot, it doesn’t hurt as much. But this isn’t unbearable, more uncomfortable than anything else.
“Are you alright?” he asks, his breath hot at your shoulder, burying his face into the pillow beside you.
“Yes,” you confirm, stroking fingertips up and down his back.
Gripping you tight, he rolls over, letting you lay on his chest. Two great hands cup each of your buttocks as he rolls his hips upward, letting his knot tug inside your tender sex.
“This feels so good,” he groans, allowing the width of him to push and pull, tucked deep. Lunging upward he drags his nose and open mouth along the juncture of your neck and shoulder, and his knot slides further inside and then fights to pull out.
It hurts, but you hold your tongue. You came into this knowing not everything would be enjoyable for you. This is about Sam, and you’re damned and determined to be everything he needs.
“I’m going to put my child in your belly,” he promises, his tongue licking a thick stripe from the hollow of your throat to up under your chin. “Watch you grow big and round with my pups. Do you want that?”
“Yes.” Stifling a cry as he nearly pulls his knot from your cunt with the sheer force of his hips. “Please, just wait,” you sputter, gripping both his biceps and holding on for dear life.
“Will you give me more than one?” He’s lost in his own fantasy now, unable to focus on anything you say. One hand curls lightly around your throat, fingers stroking before squeezing gently. “I’ll give you as many pups as you can bear. Watching you grow thick with my child again and again.”
He’s finally able to full free, his knot hasn’t gone down completely but that doesn’t stop him for promptly fucking you again as if he hasn’t just cum.
“Sam,” you groan, trying to get him to slow down, but it’s as if he can no longer hear you. His head is buried in your neck, mouth sucking at already bruised skin as he forces what’s left of his knot inside your throbbing cunt again and again.
By the time you take his knot for the second time, you’re crying. Fat tears roll down your temples as he forces himself inside you again and finds his completion. When he picks his head up to look at you his eyes are black. His pupils are so big all you can see is the dark abyss of his stare.
He doesn’t see you. He might see a woman that he has an urge to breed, but there is no you. You might as well be a soulless body, willing, open and taking his seed.
After enough time passes he pulls out and falls into a restless sleep for close to an hour.
During this time you take the opportunity to gulp down three mugs of the midwives concoction.
The third time happens quick and fast.
You’re unprepared as he throws you onto your stomach, yanking your hips into the hair and taking you from behind. He’s too deep like this and thrusting much too hard. You’re sure he’s going to break you.
‘Please,” you’re freely begging now. “Please, slow down. Sam, not so fast. Please.”
He simply grunts in response, the ability to speak seems to have deserted him and all that’s left is the shell of the man you naively entrusted not to hurt you.
Everything after a certain point becomes a blur.
The tea is doing very little for the pain but manages to completely subdue you, ensuring you're a prisoner in your own body. You want to scream and fight him. But all you can do is hope you don’t suffocate while you’re face down in the bed with his cock in your belly.
It’s unclear how long it’s been. Maybe only a few hours, but it feels like days. You haven’t opened your eyes for a long time now, afraid of what you’ll find.
The last coherent thought you have is of Dean’s warning. If you survive…
You should have listened.
Sam wanted you beyond reason and now he’s going to do something he’ll never be able to take back. Everything between your legs is in pain and on fire...and then you sink into a wonderful black abyss to be met with the relief of nothingness.

"Skyward Sword holds your hand too much! I mean it explains everything to you. Fi can‘t ever shut up.”
Fi actually only “overexplains” before the first dungeon. After that, any advice she has is given to the player only if said player manually summons Fi for advice.
“Well, there’s still the fact that you have to spend so long in that tutorial filled prologue before the first dungeon.”
You mean the prologue where you can skip almost half of the tutorial segments, including the rescue of a remlit from a rooftop, and the sword combat tutorial?
Also the time it takes for a player to get to the first time is, on average, about 50 minutes. I kind of remember other Zelda games like Twilight Princess taking much longer to get to its first dungeon.
“Well the fact it gives you any tutorial prompts without asking the player is a serious offense.”
What about Breath of the Wild? That games gives you a tutorial prompt for almost every action you do, even if it’s done after the your time in the Great Plateau. This also includes loading screens.
In fact wont most players spend around the exact same time (if not more) doing Breath of the Wild’s Great Plateau as they did playing Skyward Sword’s pre-Skyview Temple sequence? Doing those mandatory tutorial shrines for the each of the runes and having the game teach you each of the game’s mechanics via textboxes, preventing the player from experiencing the real game until they complete all those shrines.
Also there’s the shrine at Kakariko Village that teaches you about combat regardless if you already learned it on your own.
“Aren‘t you going overboard with these examples?”
Don‘t you mean isn‘t Breath of the Wild going overboard with it’s tutorial prompts?
“Well Skyward Sword sometimes mark important locations in the overworld, preventing the player from exploring the land for himself/herself.”
Yeah, it’s not like other Zelda games (or any other game) marked important overworld locations on the map for the player.
And it’s not like the first game came with a map detailing important early game locations like the placing of the first four dungeons.
Knowing where to go does not ruin the fun of actually getting there.
“But Skyward Sword has those beacons.”
Breath of the Wild had that as well. And just like the beacons in Skyward Sword, they are optional.
“But dowsing! Surely you think Nintendo went overboard with a mechanic that tells you where to go, right?”
I would, if it was forced on the player. Once you get a new dowsing target just hold the c button to go to the dowsing menu and highlight the eye symbol in order to turn off dowsing. Trust me, you can beat the game without dowsing. It’s not forced on you. It’s there for inexperienced/very young players.
By the way, why aren‘t you calling out Breath of the Wild for using the Sheikah Sensor? A feature that works the exact same way a dowsing does in Skyward Sword.
You can also upgrade it to allow the Sensor to search for almost any object in the game.
Considering that Breath of the Wild is an open world sandbox game, and focused on exploration, wouldn‘t the inclusion of such a feature be a more egregious offense compared to dowsing in Skyward Sword?
“Well Skyward Sword has other things that prevent players from figuring stuff out on their own. Like those markers over the heads of NPCs that give out quest related information.”
The quest markers in Breath of the Wild are placed directly on the NPCs that either give you quests or are needed to talk to in order to continue/complete the quest. It didn‘t take away anything in either game.
“Skyward Sword has NPCs that give away hints to puzzles without the player asking for it.”
Hints and solutions are two different things. Getting hints from NPCs is a standard of adventure games. Other Zelda games do that too.
“Skyward Sword has that potion that can make you invincible.”
That’s only available at the tail end of the game. Plus you have to upgrade it with multiple rare insects and find the Potion Medal before you can get its full effect. A Link Between Worlds has a similar potion you can get before the halfway point and all you need are 10, easy to find, monster horns.
Also, Breath of the Wild has those recipes that fully restore Link’s health, with additional yellow hearts.
In fact, there is a spot in Breath of the Wild, right next to a fast travel spawn point, where you can farm for Hearty Durians which can be used to make the Hearty Simmered Fruit dish seen above.
There’s also the fact that in Breath of the Wild, you can pause the game and heal yourself as much as you want, even if you are about to be hit with a killing blow. Other Zelda games don‘t allow that.
Give Skyward Sword some credit, you can‘t pause whenever you select an item, including potions. The game still plays and enemies will still attack you. Only now, while you select a potion, Link cannot attack, use his shield, or dodge. He can only walk around slowly as you search your inventory.
“Well the YouTube channel, Boss Keys, showed that some of Skyward Sword’s dungeons has those stones that explained too much.”
First of all, the stones never give anything away they just state what the challenge is, not how to solve it.
Also Boss Keys completely ignored the fact that other Zelda games used similar stones as well.
By the way, if you want to mention “giving to much information away” in dungeons, how about in Breath of the Wild, when you are in each of the Divine Beasts, you are directed to the guidance stone for the map, given the location of each terminal, and told how to navigate and control the Beast. Complete with the spirits of the original pilots of their respective Beast acting as a glorified tour guide. Where was everyone’s righteous fury then?
“Why are you so focused on calling out Breath of the Wild?”
Because everyone praises Breath of the Wild as “the savior of the Zelda franchise”. Claiming the game fixes the “issues” with Skyward Sword, despite the fact that those same “issues” are found in Breath of the Wild, as well as other Zelda games, including the NES titles.
It’s kind of weird that everyone who calls out Skyward Sword for “holding your hand” are mysteriously silent whenever similar moments/features are found in other Zelda games like A Link to the Past or Breath of the Wild.
It’s almost like these so called “hand holding” features in Skyward Sword, as well as the other Zelda games, aren’t as much as an offense (or as hand holding) as the game’s critics would have you believe and it’s like these critics are just fishing for excuses to justify their irrational disdain for a game that made them use motion controls.
But that can‘t be the case. I mean those critics wouldn’t have such blatant double standards when it comes to games they review, right? RIGHT?

🌸🥀🌼 for Sol, Rin and Wanda! 💜 - (adam-du-mortains) hehe
(send me some soft oc asks!)
🌸 What are some of their favourite things and why? List as many as you can think of!
sol adores flowers! she worked part-time at a flower shop for a few years, and she's always loved the different meanings and sentiments people associate with each flower. she liked to entertain herself by making up stories in her head about her clients, trying to imagine the reason behind each bouquet they'd have her arrange (whether they'd gift it to someone as an apology, as a confession, as a promise of affection, etc.). she also loves baking, especially if it is for others; she started young because as a child she thought everything that nick did was just the coolest thing ever and she wanted to do those cool things with him! he was happy to teach her, and she keeps all the recipes they've come up with together safely guarded. lastly, her favorite thing in the world is probably music. she likes that it's something that connects different people all over the world. it's also her main "defense" against ments, since she concentrates on music and song lyrics while out in public. she's always loved going to concerts and she enjoys singing too, although she's... terrible at it.
rin loves social media (insane, i know), although more specifically, she loves the attention she gets there. she's the self-proclaimed queen of selfies, and she actually has a youtube channel where she does make-up tutorials! she fully considers it an art form and she has mastered it. she always does nick and sally's make-up on halloween, and she's the only person nick trusts with his face before interviews. another of her favorite things has always been playing the piano. it's a bit bittersweet though, because her fingers always end up moving on their own, playing the notes to her mother's favorite song. she doesn't sit down to play for herself too often but, when she does it's like her walls disappear and she actually looks... soft, delicate. not like the woman that she's forced herself to grow into. secretly though, her favorite thing in the world are unicorns. she couldn't tell you why, but she's had a fascination with them ever since she was a toddler and no matter how much she tried to grow out of it, she still adores them. only nick and sally know about this.
wanda's favorite thing is feeling needed. it's more like they need to feel needed, really. they need to help people, to care for them, to give them their love. it's in their nature, and their sense of self-worth sort of depends on it. they also love fashion, and they keep up with current trends. they pride themselves in being able to predict what's gonna be in fashion next with an accuracy that gives even sally pause (they swear they called the clueless fashion era renaissance months before people started wearing scrunchies and plaid skirts again). they also love tabletop games! their favorite is vampire: the masquerade, but they really enjoy dungeons and dragons as well. they play with friends online through discord calls and digital dice, since they never had many irl friends growing up. they did try to play with sally, nick and their twin sister arlo one time, but they quickly discovered that trying to dm for two people who can read your mind and one who can read your emotions is infuriating.
🥀 How would your OC decorate a notebook or journal? What kind of things are written in there? Could you give an example of a nice entry?
sol has a few notebooks that are filled to the brim with recipes. nick's, her own, meals that they have come up with together, and plates that they've found online. she makes sure they are all beautifully written and legible by anyone that picks them up, truly pinterest worthy. she always uses yellow and orange markers to highlight the important bits! her class notebooks are almost equally pretty, but she does tend to get bored, and ends up drawing stick figures on the margins.
rin's handwriting is surprisingly messy. she developed an awful, cursive writing style meant for fast note-taking during classes, and that's how she writes down anything. she keeps diaries ever since she was a kid (sally got her into the habit), but she doesn't even bother locking them because she knows no one but her can decipher her scribbles. some pages of her diaries have pasted snapshots that she's taken on important days (like pictures of herself and/or sally on happy days; candids of nick if she was feeling particularly soft; herself in her graduation gown; many, many snapshots of random cats).
wanda also writes in cursive, but their handwriting is actually legible. they have a notebook for note drafts when taking classes, and another one where they later write down a neat and clean version of them for studying, or in case anyone else needs their notes. they mostly use red and pink highlights. they don't keep any diaries, journals or notebooks otherwise.
🌼 Who are this characters friends and found family? How did they meet, how long have they been friends for, could they ever be something more than just friends? What do they look for in a friend or a romantic partner?
sol's true found family consists of sally and gray (and nick obviously!! but he's her real brother so like), although (barring any heartbreaking plot twists that may be coming our way) glitch and kent will be part of it too. other than them, she has a little friend group that she's amassed over the years that she goes to her underground music venues with! it's a few metalheads and punks she met by pure chance in different concerts. she only meets up with them to go to music venues, but they do have a group text chat. what she looks for in her friendships is safety, companionship and laughter. she's not quite sure what she wants in a romantic partner, since she only ever dated one person before gray took the reins of her heart, and it was only a one-month long relationship. she does know that she wants to have fun, she wants adventure, she wants warmth and someone that will brighten up the room when she doesn't have the strength to. that someone is gray, it's always been gray, couldn't be anyone but him. (she was a bit horrified when she realized it, she hadn't gotten over the cookie incident yet. and it was over something as silly as him getting tomato sauce on his cheek while eating spaghetti with her and nick. he was trying to have a serious conversation about something or other, and she couldn't stop thinking about how ridiculous he looked... and then she couldn't stop thinking about him at all.)
rin's family are just nick and sally. she does consider gray a friend, and she's warming up to kent, but she wouldn't get to a point where she feels comfortable calling them family. sally gets that privilege because they grew up together and rin would be a mess without her - honestly, she considers sally's dads part of her family too, to an extent. ambrose will be family when rin becomes ms. kim lol... i'll say though, she doesn't really look for friends or romantic partners. she's very much used to shutting people out and (since most of the population can read her thoughts anyway) being as blunt as humanly possible, which often leaves people uncomfortable and at a disadvantage. she's had a few flings, but nothing serious; no boyfriends, girlfriends or datemates. if she was looking for a relationship, she'd want someone who sees her for who she is (not what she is, nor what she acts like), who treats her like an equal. she also wants to be adored, cherished and doted upon. her falling for ambrose was a huge surprise - sure, she found him hot but, rin wiseman? actually falling in love? for a man, no less? unheard of. she realized she might seriously like him when he laughed at her crypt pun. it shook both nick and herself to their cores. rin had a crush on sally growing up. up until rosy, she was the only person rin was ever serious about - but she considered it hopeless. not because of sally seemingly having a crush on nick when they were kids, but because during a game of spin the bottle during freshman year, sally refused to kiss her when the bottle pointed at her (because it would make things weird, because it might ruin their friendship), and rin took it as a clear rejection of her feelings. nowadays she does joke about it and she brings it up whenever sally questions her infatuation with rosy, but it actually still really stings.
wanda doesn't quite have a found family, since they never felt the need to find one outside their core one. it's them, their twin sister arlo, nick, and their parents - however far they are. they do often include sally when they think about family, though (especially because arlo has always been in love with her, so they're sure sally is really going to be their sister one day). they have gray, as well as a large online friend group that they talk to every day, and they are starting to really get along with a few of their classmates, as well as kent, glitch, and even rosy. they look for the same thing in both their platonic and romantic relationships: they want honesty, they want to be depended upon, they want to care for and for someone to care about them just as much. they want someone that they can share everything with. they've never been in a romantic relationship before because they don't really trust like that yet. they do have a weakness for bad boys though, which is what first attracted them to kent - he looks like one, even if he isn't. they're still not quite sure what to make of him, whether they can really trust him or not, but after he showed up and sacrificed himself to the press, leaving his puppy to cheer them up during the ride from the hospital to their house? bali does seem like a great place for a wedding. other than him, they could actually see themselves with glitch. she seems like an honest person, she's funny, she's strangely fashionable; wanda is starting to think she's beautiful inside and out. they'd make a magazine cover-worthy couple.

Quarantine
Years ago I had pneumonia, which slid into double pneumonia and eventually led to me getting IV drugs through a port daily. After my rounds of IV meds were complete and I was deemed free of pneumonia, I was put on what turned into a 6 week isolation where I could not leave my apartment or expose myself to people because of my status as weak and immunocompromised. I didn't have but a few TV channels and the internet was still newish so there wasn't a lot going on there. Daytime TV was THE WORST being mostly soaps and Maury 'Not the Father!' type stuff, but I did get a DIY channel that showed several cooking shows, creative ways to make/change stuff for decor and a couple of This Old House type shows that always showed how a simple project could be done.
After a couple of weeks, I was going nuts. I started watching the DIY/cooking shows to pass time and remembered I had an old Fannie Farmer Cookbook as well as a Better Homes one (it was red & white like a picnic blanket), and realized I had some decent amounts of flour, sugar, spices/herbs, etc as well as some box mixes for cakes and whatnot. So, I started looking through and picking some easier looking recipes. I'd taken the mandatory Home Ec classes in junior high (1 semester of sewing, 1 of cooking) and knew how to cook some stuff, but baking? Beyond a box mix I hadn't don't much of it. So to keep myself from madness, I used those books and shows to learn how to actually bake, all the way up to some decorating tips for cakes. I'm no cake boss, but I make some mean little 'fake fondant' (icing + confectioners sugar) things and can do some decent piping and multi-color cakes for cut reveals, plus learned how to sugar edible flowers for decoration. Beyond that, I learned how to make some simple breads and candies, though the candy was a pain in the ass to get the hang of. Hard candy especially. Now, even tho I rarely make hard candies, I know how to do so.
I also watched the DIY Home stuff and noted what I liked. There were a couple of episodes demonstrating how to apply different textures on interior walls with just a couple of tools (spatula/mud spreader, a board or ruler for broader strokes and sanding blocks) that I ended up learning and using in a place I moved to later. I ripped off the paneling, filled all the holes and repaired brick damage, then applied the layers, then painted and did a damp rub with a metallic overtone followed by a quick damp wipe so it'd only remain on creases or in the pocking and it looked so good!
Those weeks of learning have remained beneficial throughout the years since, but it took me a couple of weeks to get to a point where I was both bored enough and well enough to pick something and actually do it. Even then, I realized I knew very little about both groups of activities so I purposefully chose things that were few ingredients, simple steps and small batches at first. The DIY home stuff was less immediately beneficial but has been used and successfully raised property values.
Depending on where you are and how long you've been on stay-home, you may be coming up on a similar "gotta do something or go crazy" breaking point where others have been doing stuff since their Day 1. Everybody is different and a lot of us have different situations going on, so if you see people crafting or cooking away, don't feel like you're the odd one or wasting your time or whatever. Sometimes it just takes different things to get people motivated or curious about something, and that is completely normal.
If you are getting stir-crazy and don't have much money or time, you could look at small projects like learning simple origami (hopping frogs are always a hit) or practicing improving your penmanship / trying out basic calligraphy with chisel tip markers or highlighters, or little flip-books from scrap paper. Look up "how to make box cake taste great" if you have some box mixes, or check out those 2-5 ingredient recipes or look at making a nice salt or sugar scrub for yourself. Make a little jar with single words on slips and pull one or more to base a short poem or story about/including the word, or use the word on the slip in an internet search and write about one of the top 10 image results. It doesn't have to be baking or cooking or language, it could be anything that you enjoy doing.
If you don't do anything, *that is fine too, there is zero requirement you must learn something new during this time*. The important thing is that you are doing what helps you feel OK, and whether that means nightly bubble baths or brushing up on your old high school Italian or doing nothing "productive" but only things that keep you mentally balanced and OK, then that's what you do and nobody should make you feel bad for how you handle your own mental well-being.
Sleep enough.
Drink your water.
Eat or snack to keep your body strong.
Open a curtain or stand outside to get some sun, help process that Vitamin D into K.
Stretch when you remember, especially if you are spending most time in a chair, on a couch or in bed.
Everything else are just ways to spend time and distract your focus from our lives being turned topsy-turvy overnight, and you'll be able to identify when you need to add something or remove something from your life or your mindset.
Good luck, everyone. Coming out of this on the other side is what matters, everything else are just details.
