Another great read by Chanel Cleeton fulfilling my desire to know more about the Cuban exile experience. I mentioned in a previous post about having a deep friendship with the son of a family whisked out of Cuba on the eve of the Revolucion. 🇨🇺 He and his family had such an impact on my life. (AND are exemplary Americans, 🇺🇸 always engaged in social, cultural and political life, as we all should be!) This week's studio audio book... One of my life's great loves had parents who lived in Cuba during the time of Fidel's Revolucion. Because of him (and his Force of Nature mother), I feel a connection to that corner of the world and their heritage. The author's use of parallel story lines allows me to revel in the feelings of family as our first most important social unit.
