Had some thoughts about a Pokemon AU for My Little Pony, specifically what Equestria would look like as a region. Specific thoughts include:
The Elements/Bearers of Harmony as Gym Leaders. All of their badges are named after (and resemble small versions of) their respective elements.
That only accounts for six gyms...the other two Gym Leaders could be Spike (Dragonfire Badge) and Starlight Glimmer (Empathy Badge?), or maybe Sunset Shimmer (Phoenix Badge?)
The princesses (Luna, Celestia, Cadence, and Twilight) could be Elite Four Members.
The Champion? Possibly an older (still not to adulthood) Flurry Heart!
And I could see the changelings, led by Chrysalis, acting as an evil Team in Equestria, stealing Pokemon and love with the goal of conquering the region.

I made Radiant Hope for my version of the mirror verse where she takes Sombras place as the champion of the Umbrum after being bullied all her life and then being accepted by them. In this universe Sombra had to banish her being the closest one to her and that’s how he became king of Equestria.

~STORY TIME~

For centuries the bat ponies - also known as thestrals - lived in exile after the failed usurpation of Nightmare Moon. During the failed revolution of the Lunar Princess they had been her most eager supporters, and they filled the armies of the usurper as the conflict spread and chaos spilled across the land. Their allegiance was not entirely natural. They had been used as pawns by the Nightmare and in particular by the Moon Mages, a cult of unicorns that practiced dark magic and sought to bring the Nightmare to ascendance. These rogue unicorns taught resentment and spread their bizarre beliefs to the thestrals, segregated as they were from the other ponies who walked in the daylight. After Celestia's victory the Moon Mages remained hidden, but the bat ponies were not. To Equestria, they were uncivilized agitators at best, and the soldiers of the enemy at worst.
The Moon Mages had a plot to bring about the Nightmare's return early, however, and ressurect their ancient rebellion.
That plot involved the creation of the Elements of Destruction, terrible weapons wrought from Harmony's own power and twisted to their malicious end.
With the dark Elements, they would free Nightmare Moon, overthrow Celestia, and rule Equestria under the blessed blanket of Eternal Night. The 6 strongest thestral tribes were told to capture dark spirits as sacrifices to this end: The Shad, a clan of skilled infiltrators and assassins. The Dark Hearts, a group of well-heeled blood drinkers (who didn't take very well to being cast out of civilized equine society). The Haunt, a clan known for their shamans who communed with the spirits. The Eisenwing, black-furred thestrals who were tight-knit, clever, and industrious. The Bloodeborne, the largest tribe, who bred and trained a vast host of warrior mares. And another clan that had a degenerative ocular disease and tended to change their tribe's name a lot.
The ritual was completed, and the Elements were created: large, twisted fruits that took with it the last of the dark tree's magic and vitality. But before the Moon Mages could call back the Nightmare, the Bloodborne turned on them.
Their Queen, Norn, had nurtured a deep hatred of Nightmare Moon for her failure and the thestrals' subsequent exile. She knew that should the revolution of the night begin again, the bat ponies would be called upon to serve as the Nightmare's foot soldiers once more, and countless thestrals would suffer for her victory. Norn didn't care for this, so when the Elements were complete, she murdered the Headmistress, Starsong Ebony, and ate the fruit that had been born of her tribe's spirit: the Element of Carnage.
Five Elements of Destruction remained: The Element of Shadows, the Element of Malice, the Element of Pain, the Element of Terror, and the Element of Deception. They ostensibly belonged to the thestral tribes, but none were so reckless as Norn to eat them. The tribes were confused, felt cheated and betrayed, and feared what the splintering of their strength would do for their struggle against Equestria.
The remaining Elements of Destruction were sealed away, and a prophecy issued by the Moon Mages: For when the Nightmare's long sentence was over, her most worthy servants should partake of those cursed fruits and become her champions, heralding Eternal Night and bringing justice to the cruelly exiled ponies and ruthlessly prosecuted cultists.
The plot was set, and the Moon Mages prepared to wait out the Nightmare's sentence, but a thousand years, alas, is a LONG time.
The tribes could not endure, and the Moon Mages only helped so much. There were wars, famines, schisms, raids, plagues, and disasters. The thestrals dared not reach out to Equestria for aid, although many thestrals made a habit of raiding and burglarizing Equestrian villages at night. So it was that the reputation of the thestrals as soldiers of darkness faded, and their modern reputation as thugs, thieves, and bandits was established.
By the time Nightmare Moon was free again, the Shad had splintered hopelessly and become a gang of lowly thieves. The Dark Hearts had given over their clan to immortal monsters, their leaders infected with undead vampirism and promising power to those who would serve as thralls and partners. The Eisenwing had been scattered by constant conflicts with Equestria and other neighbors, their clan brought again and again to the brink of extinction. The Haunt were almost totally wiped out by a magical disaster; of their own making, Equestria's, or the Moon Mages none will say. And the tribe of blind thestrals took on a hundred new names, surviving mainly as brutes and killers for hire as their legacy faded, again and again, into irrelevance.
It was from this motley herd that Penumbra Shard attempted to assemble the fated warriors, reaching out to them in dreams to summon them to the ancient barrows.
Dusk Blade.
Nacht.
Neuron Dialect.
Gloom Fang.
Banshee.
Names unknown to Equestria. But with the conclusion of the prophecy and the onset of Eternal Night, their names would become a curse among all the ponies that had dared to defy the darkness.
But prophecies are fragile things.
Plans have snags. Timelines fail. And yet again the power of darkness faltered before the light.
The Nightmare was purified before the chosen thestrals ever tasted the cursed fruits. The Moon Mages were eventually killed or imprisoned once their treachery was exposed. The bat ponies have been welcomed to Equestria proper, their ancient crimes faded into myth. The "chosen" ponies lead their soldiers in nightly patrols over Canterlot, protecting its sleeping citizen from criminals and miscreants. Most of them, at least.
And that is the story of the Cult of Lunar Ascendance. An embarrassing, little-known footnote in the history of the Nightmare's defeat. A tale of tremendous hubris and forgotten magic, and terrible artifacts buried in the wastes, never to be seen again.
Those who know anything more of the Elements are imprisoned or dead, and Equestria is all too happy to let such detestable weapons rot in whatever loathsome vault they were sealed in. A failure of a weapon for a war that was over before it began.
May they never see the light of Celestia's sun.

The Elements of Fun
If the Elements of Harmony kept Equestria united and the Elements of Unity symbolized the power of friendship in Maretime Bay, then the Elements of Fun bring joy, excitement, and plenty of wiggling to the world! As a fan of both the Wiggles and MLP (All 5 generations), I couldn't help but wonder, "What if The Wiggles had their own set of elements?" Just like the Elements of Harmony in MLP: FiM or the Elements of Unity in MLP: TYT, the Wiggles are a team of distinct personalities, each contributing something special to their vibrant group dynamic. Here's my take on the Elements of Fun, where each member brings a unique quality that ties into the fun-loving spirit of their music, dance, and entertaining antics.
Tsehay - Element of Confidence
Tsehay radiates confidence in a way that feels both refreshing and inspiring. From her enthusiastic shuffle dance moves to her sunny, radiant personality, she teaches us that confidence isn’t about being perfect—it's about being comfortable in your own skin. Her main shtick is dancing, and her signature shuffle dance is more than just a performance—it’s her way of expressing her powerful self-assurance. Sunflowers are an important part of Tsehay’s identity, both as a symbol of brightness and energy and as a source of her power. The sunflowers on her shoes give her the ability to dance, allowing her to move with a freedom and rhythm that mesmerizes everyone around her. Whether she’s stepping out onto the stage or encouraging others to join her in a routine, Tsehay’s confidence is felt by everyone in her orbit.
Her positive energy is a magnetic force that draws people in, making them feel capable and eager to follow her lead. Much like Pipp Petals, who channels her confidence through her performances, Tsehay uses her dancing and presence to uplift and energize the people around her. Tsehay is a five-time world champion salsa dancer, and this remarkable achievement reflects her dedication to mastering her craft while maintaining a sense of joy and freedom in everything she does. But it’s not just her dancing ability that defines her; it’s her ability to inspire others to believe in themselves and feel confident in their own movements. Tsehay’s presence on stage makes everyone feel like they, too, can shine.
She also has a tomboyish side, which adds a nice contrast to her graceful dancing. Tsehay’s unpretentious, energetic approach to life makes her relatable to fans of all backgrounds. She reminds us that confidence doesn’t need to be perfect or polished—sometimes, it's about being true to yourself and embracing your own quirks. Her smile is infectious, and her unrelenting optimism keeps her moving forward even in the toughest of times. Tsehay’s core lesson is that confidence is built from within, and it’s the power to overcome anything with a positive, self-assured mindset.
In everything she does, Tsehay teaches us that confidence can take many forms, and there’s no one right way to be confident. Sometimes, it’s a smile. Other times, it’s a dance move that feels like pure freedom. But one thing is always clear: confidence is about feeling empowered in your own skin and inspiring others to do the same. Tsehay's vibrant energy and the self-assurance she carries with her make her the perfect example of what it means to confidently embrace who you are.
Lachy - Element of Music
Lachy brings a soulful calm to the Wiggles with his gentle demeanor, and his connection to music is profound. He’s not just the lead singer, keyboardist, and keytarist of the group; Lachy is the undisputed "Ballad Boy" of the Wiggles. His love for writing and singing tender love ballads, adds a layer of depth to the group’s typically fun and playful vibe. Whether he’s crafting songs or just playing his keyboard, Lachy uses music to express deep emotions, giving him an artistic edge in the group. He is inventive and imaginative, constantly creating new sounds or attempting to craft a new invention, even if those inventions sometimes backfire. His love for music isn’t just about performing—it’s about creating something meaningful and heartfelt.
When Lachy sings, his voice carries a warmth that envelops listeners in a feeling of tranquility. His love for ballads and his unique way of expressing romance through song sets him apart from the other Wiggles. While the group focuses on fun and learning, Lachy’s contributions provide a touch of maturity and reflection, offering something for the adults in the audience. His solo songs might not be the typical Wiggles fare, but they are no less important. They show that music can be an emotional outlet and that it is an essential form of connection, whether with others or with oneself. Lachy’s tunes are heartfelt, and his willingness to be vulnerable through his music makes him a key figure in the group.
Lachy’s gentle and calm personality also makes him the perfect counterbalance to the more energetic Wiggles. While Simon is constantly full of excitement and Tsehay is dancing with confidence, Lachy provides a grounding force that reminds everyone of the power of slowing down and appreciating the moment. Whether he's playing the piano, creating music, or just writing new ballads, Lachy shows that music isn’t just about rhythm; it’s about conveying a story, emotion, and connecting with the hearts of others. His inventiveness also adds a playful twist, even if his creations tend to have unexpected outcomes. It’s all part of his creative process, where imagination and music come together in ways that surprise and delight.
Beyond his musical talents, Lachy’s easygoing, warm nature is a perfect balance to the more energetic members of the group. His quiet moments of reflection and his ability to appreciate the beauty in simplicity remind us that sometimes, the most profound expressions of art come from a place of calm and introspection. Lachy embodies the idea that music isn’t just for making noise—it’s for connecting, healing, and celebrating life’s beautiful moments.
Simon - Element of Laughter
Simon is the embodiment of joy and laughter, always ready to bring fun to every situation. His playful and excitable personality infuses the group with energy and humor, and he’s the one who turns every performance into an adventure. With a deep love for games, especially "Simon Says," and an obsession with making funny faces, Simon is constantly looking for ways to make people laugh. His bubbly, hyperactive nature makes him a larger-than-life character who’s always up for a bit of silliness. Whether he's pulling fun pranks or playing the clown, Simon’s mission is simple: bring laughter to others. His enthusiasm is contagious, turning any ordinary moment into a joyful one. Simon’s spirit of playfulness is not just about entertainment—it’s about reminding everyone to embrace their inner child and not take life too seriously.
One of Simon’s most endearing qualities is his operatic flair. He loves all kinds of music but has a particular fondness for opera. His opera cape is a signature part of his costume, and when he belts out a note, it’s clear he’s doing it with all the drama and passion of a true performer. Simon’s love for opera is a reflection of his larger-than-life personality—he’s not afraid to go big and put on a show. His playful nature combined with his love for theatricality makes him the perfect embodiment of laughter. Like Pinkie Pie, Simon is always seeking out ways to spread joy, whether it’s through games, silly antics, or simply sharing his over-the-top sense of humor with the audience.
Simon’s antics may seem lighthearted, but they serve an important purpose—he teaches us the importance of laughter and play. His vibrant, excitable nature reminds us that laughter is a universal language that brings people together. Simon’s ability to turn any situation into a fun adventure demonstrates that life doesn’t always need to be serious; sometimes, the best way to face challenges is with a smile and a laugh. Simon’s contagious enthusiasm also encourages others to be silly, to have fun, and to enjoy the little moments in life. He reminds us that laughter is not just about humor—it’s about letting go of our inhibitions and enjoying the present.
Simon’s role in the Wiggles is crucial because he brings a sense of fun and excitement to every performance. His larger-than-life personality makes him an unforgettable figure in the group. But beyond the jokes and pranks, Simon’s laughter also represents joy, optimism, and the power of humor to uplift the spirit. Whether he’s singing a silly song, playing a game with the audience, or just making a goofy face, Simon’s laughter is a constant reminder that we should never underestimate the power of a good laugh to brighten our day.
Anthony - Element of Leadership
As the oldest member of the current Wiggles, Anthony naturally takes on the role of the leader. His leadership extends beyond just being the face of the group—it’s about guiding the others with warmth, good humor, and a steady hand. Anthony is not just a musician; he’s the one who helps keep the group cohesive, ensuring everyone works together as a team. As the primary blue Wiggle, Anthony has a special bond with the audience. His ability to engage with the crowd is unmatched—he’s always cracking jokes, sharing fun facts, or introducing new segments. His warmth and humor make him the natural leader of the group, as he has the ability to connect with people on a personal level.
Anthony’s love for food, especially fruit salad, is an endearing aspect of his personality. His well-known appetite often becomes a running joke, creating moments of levity and fun in the midst of their performances. His hunger isn’t just literal; it symbolizes his constant desire for more—whether it’s more music, more laughter, or more connection with the audience. His ability to juggle multiple instruments, from the guitar to the bagpipes to the banjo, speaks to his versatility as a musician. Anthony’s leadership is not about command or authority—it’s about leading through example, humor, and a genuine desire to make the world a better place through music.
As a leader, Anthony is also a mentor to the younger Wiggles, such as his daughter Lucia. While sometimes his antics may embarrass her, Anthony’s leadership style is rooted in love and encouragement. He sets a strong example of what it means to be a good leader—one who listens, supports, and empowers others. His leadership is not about being in the spotlight; it’s about guiding his fellow Wiggles and ensuring that everyone’s talents are recognized and celebrated. His ability to balance fun and responsibility makes him the perfect figurehead for the group. Anthony’s leadership is felt throughout every performance. He brings a sense of direction and purpose to the group, making sure that each moment is meaningful and enjoyable. His leadership also reminds us that good leadership isn’t about being the loudest or most dominant person in the room—it’s about fostering an environment of mutual respect, collaboration, and fun. Anthony’s leadership is grounded in his genuine care for others and his ability to make every moment, whether on stage or off.
Evie - Element of Cleverness
Evie’s presence in the Wiggles brings a sense of sharp intellect and creativity to the group. Her love for dancing, yoga, and reading reflects her well-rounded personality—she’s someone who uses her mind as much as her body. Whether she’s practicing a dance routine or finding a new way to solve a problem, Evie always approaches situations with clever ideas and thoughtful consideration. She’s not just about having fun; she’s about exploring new concepts and pushing boundaries with her creativity. Her ballet shoes symbolize her delicate balance between grace and mental agility. In every performance, Evie encourages others to think outside the box and be innovative, teaching the audience that being clever is not only about solving problems but about using your unique abilities to inspire others.
Her love for yoga further exemplifies her dedication to mental and physical balance. Evie teaches the importance of mindfulness and flexibility, both in her body and in her thinking. Whether she’s demonstrating a complex dance move or suggesting a creative solution to a challenge, Evie shows that being clever isn’t just about quick wit; it’s about calm and intentional thought. Evie’s intellectual side makes her a role model for young viewers, showing that creativity and intellect can go hand in hand. Her ability to stay calm and think critically allows her to bring thoughtful ideas to the table while also maintaining the positive, lighthearted atmosphere of the group.
Evie’s passion for reading also highlights her thirst for knowledge and self-improvement. She encourages others to explore the world of books and learning, showing that there is always something new to discover. Evie’s approach to life is all about embracing curiosity and seeking new ideas, and she inspires the audience to do the same. Her cleverness is a tool she uses to enrich not only her own life but the lives of those around her. She shows us that intelligence isn’t just about memorizing facts; it’s about being resourceful, inventive, and open-minded.
Above all, Evie serves as a reminder that cleverness is just as important as other qualities like energy or humor. Her creative ideas and thoughtful approach make her an essential part of the team, showing that it’s possible to have fun and be smart at the same time. Evie teaches that being clever is a multifaceted skill, one that helps solve problems and sparks new ideas, and that it can be just as joyful and playful as any other element of fun.
Lucia - Element of Creativity
Lucia brings a fresh burst of creativity to the Wiggles, and she embodies this through her love of painting, drumming, and wearing blue. Her connection to the color blue is symbolic of her calm yet vibrant nature. Lucia’s creativity flows through everything she does—whether she’s playing the drums, creating art, or coming up with new ways to engage the audience. She adds a unique energy to the Wiggles, inspiring everyone around her to think outside the box and express themselves in different ways. Lucia’s artistic spirit is a key part of her personality; her creativity gives life to every performance, ensuring that every moment is as colorful and imaginative as her own artistic endeavors.
Lucia’s love for drumming is especially notable because it represents her rhythmic and creative side. The beat of the drums connects her to the pulse of the group, and her performance is always lively and full of passion. Through her drumming, Lucia teaches the value of creativity in music and the importance of rhythm in our lives. It’s not just about following the beats; it’s about adding your own personal touch to the rhythm of the world around you. Whether she’s creating music with the Wiggles or painting a picture, Lucia demonstrates that creativity isn’t just about making something—it’s about expressing yourself in ways that feel true to you.
In addition to her musical and artistic talents, Lucia’s ability to work with others creatively is a key strength. She encourages the group to embrace their creative sides, often finding new ways to collaborate and bring different ideas together. This collaborative spirit fosters a sense of unity within the Wiggles, and it shows the audience the importance of creativity in teamwork. Lucia believes that creativity isn’t just an individual pursuit—it’s a group effort. By working together and combining their unique talents, the Wiggles create something special for their audience to enjoy.
Lucia’s creativity teaches us that the world is full of possibilities, and sometimes the best way to solve a problem or enjoy life is to approach it with a creative mindset. Whether through art, music, or collaboration, Lucia inspires everyone to let their imaginations run wild and explore new ideas. She proves that creativity isn’t just about making something beautiful (or 'blue-tiful' as she would put it)—it’s about making something that brings joy, meaning, and connection. Through her playful spirit and artistic touch, Lucia reminds us that creativity is an endless adventure waiting to be explored.
John - Element of Strength
John is the embodiment of physical and mental strength within the Wiggles. His passion for working out and getting strong showcases his dedication to both fitness and determination. Whether he’s lifting weights, practicing his favorite exercises, or just focusing on personal growth, John is always striving to improve himself. His love for strength isn’t just about physical power; it’s about mental resilience, the ability to keep pushing forward no matter the challenges. John’s role in the group is a reminder that strength comes in many forms—physical, mental, and emotional. His passion for fitness and strength-building encourages others to focus on their health and well-being, teaching that strength is not just about looking strong but feeling strong inside and out.
John’s favorite color—purple—reflects his bold and powerful nature. Purple is often associated with power, nobility, and ambition, all of which are qualities that John embodies. His love for working out and staying strong is not just about personal vanity; it’s about setting an example for others. John shows the audience that strength is something worth aspiring to, and it’s a value that can be applied to every aspect of life. Strength isn’t just for athletes or bodybuilders—it’s for anyone who has the determination to stay focused and resilient in the face of adversity.
John also brings an element of discipline and focus to the group. His strength is not just physical; it’s mental as well. The dedication he has to improving himself and maintaining a healthy lifestyle serves as an inspiration to the other Wiggles and their fans. His commitment to working hard, staying disciplined, and pushing through challenges is a powerful message to the audience. John teaches the importance of perseverance, showing that no matter how hard something may seem, with strength and determination, anything is possible.
Ultimately, John’s strength adds a layer of stability and endurance to the group. Whether he’s helping out with physical tasks or providing a sense of support for his fellow Wiggles, John’s strength ensures that the group stays grounded and focused on their goals. His dedication to building strength, both physical and mental, shows the audience that real power comes from within—and it’s something that can be cultivated through hard work, dedication, and a positive mindset. John reminds us that strength is about more than just muscles; it’s about inner resolve and the determination to face whatever comes our way with courage and conviction.
Caterina - Element of Kindness
Caterina is the embodiment of kindness, with a heart as big as her smile. She is a nurturing, caring individual who always goes the extra mile to make others feel loved and appreciated. Whether it’s offering a helping hand, showing empathy, or simply being there for someone in need, Caterina’s kindness is at the very core of her being. Her love for rock ’n’ roll dancing, riding her red motorbike, and embracing heart-shaped symbols only add to her vibrant and joyful personality, all of which are fueled by her desire to spread warmth and positivity. Like a gentle beacon, Caterina shows that the simple act of kindness can create ripples of goodness that extend far beyond just one person. Unlike Hitch Trailblazer and Fluttershy, who express kindness through shyness or gentle optimism, Caterina’s kindness is direct and bold, overflowing with energy and a deep sense of warmth.
What truly sets Caterina apart is her natural ability to make people feel comfortable and valued. Her kindness isn't just in her words, but in her actions, which speak louder than anything. She has a special way of connecting with others, offering them a sense of belonging and comfort. Whether she’s cheering someone up after a rough day or being a loyal friend when needed, her kindness feels effortless, like a second nature. Her caring nature extends to her passion for dance; she doesn’t just use it as a form of self-expression, but as a way to bring joy to others. Her rock ’n’ roll dance moves are energetic and full of life, creating an undeniable sense of community between the Wiggles and their audience. Caterina believes in bringing people together through positive energy, and her infectious kindness inspires everyone around her to do the same.
Caterina’s connection to kindness isn't just about being sweet or gentle—it’s also about her strength in showing compassion. Her red motorbike, a symbol of independence and confidence, represents her ability to stand firm in her kindness, even when faced with challenges. She is the type of person who will ride through life’s obstacles with a caring heart and a determined spirit, always putting the well-being of others above her own. In a world that can sometimes be harsh, Caterina’s heart-centered kindness serves as a reminder that compassion and empathy are transformative tools that can change lives. She teaches us that kindness isn't just a fleeting emotion—it’s a consistent practice that leaves a profound impact on everyone around us.
What makes Caterina’s kindness even more beautiful is that it’s entirely selfless, offered freely without any expectation of recognition or reward. This sense of unconditional love and support makes her an essential member of the group, fostering camaraderie and mutual respect among the Wiggles. Whether it’s through a thoughtful gesture, a comforting word, or simply being present in someone’s time of need, Caterina’s kindness shines through in everything she does. Her actions inspire others to lead with empathy and grace, reminding us all of the power of kindness to transform the world around us.
Caterina exemplifies that kindness is not just about feeling good in the moment—it’s about creating a space where others feel safe, appreciated, and loved. For her, kindness is more than just an element—it’s a lifestyle. It’s a way of being that uplifts entire communities and leaves lasting, positive impacts wherever she goes. Through her actions, Caterina shows us that kindness truly has the power to change the world, one small act at a time.

What about the main six and the elements of harmony? And the other groups? Wouldn't they combat her and the Dazzlings?
"Ah, I see you are unfamiliar with the history of my Equestria," Nightmare Rainbow Feather respond.
"We suffered a great invasion from shadow beings from another realm, and most of our champions and princesses were lost. Luna herself re-harnessed the nightmare power, the Tantabus, to strengthen herself during the war and managed to control it, and when she was mortally wounded, I, her student, was the only one nearby, so she passed on her magic to me, and I became Nightmare Rainbow Feather!"
"Along with the remaining forces and aid of the Crystal Empire, Griffonstone, and similar allies, we won the day, and I ascended the throne despite misgivings, I was Luna's successor and the only one with magic recognized as strong enough to protect Equestria in it's vulnerable state," she finishes her explanation.
"Currently, the active royalty is Princess Cadence of the Crystal Empire (with Shining Armor), her daughter Princess Flurry Heart, and myself."
(Quick version of my major timelines, which use this as the branch point- Everyone faced a Shadow invasion. Main/Medic Rainboow Feather's timeline beat it normally and the elements and such are still around with Celestia in charge. Princess Aligriffon Rainbow Feather won with help of Discord, which is why she became a four-winged horned griffon, but all the Princesses are also around there. Nightmare and Rainbow Power both are 'bad end' timelines where most of the original cast is gone, with Nightmare winning as above and Feather getting tantabus influence, and RP forming a new Element of Harmony [and Fluttershy is in that one])

[An audio recording is attached.]
Oh! Twilight, hi, I was just about to call you actually.
Hi. Sorry, I don't think there's much time. Wait, you had something as well?
Yeah, we've had developments here too. You know how you said you wanted to see Equestria again though, on our last call? I have an idea for how you can.
Really? Besides trying to pelipper mail me there?
Hoopa. In particular, Hoopa empowered by this weird bottle artifact I got mailed recently. He showed up here while I was asking the Professor about it. Apparently it contains a lot of his chaos powers, which were locked away by a champion of the legendary pokemon Zygarde a long time ago. If we open the bottle and give it all back...
We'd have a full strength Discord in this world... though I would hope his lessons in friendship have sunk in permanently by now.
From how he cares about Ari, and remembered both of us after so long, I think the world will be okay. The thing is though, I bet he could open portals with his rings all the way back to Equestria, because back when he was Discord, didn't he live in some extra dimension not quite inside of Equestria already? He must have the power to travel like that. And then you could go and scout around... see how bad the damage is since we've been gone...
And see if...
[Twilight's voice on the call becomes quieter, and somewhat hurried.]
Look, this might break my cover, but I don't care anymore. I don't know that Lysandre can listen in on calls here, but I know it's possible, that's why I've avoided key words and details thus far. But we're running out of time.
Ari showed up here at the lab. Knocked on the front door, demanded to see Lysandre...
Oh no.
Yeah. And Lys was waiting for him, like he knew that Ari specifically would come, right around this time. I didn't catch everything they said, but they were making some sort of deal. A trade, some key Ari was wearing around his neck for that off-color floette that Lys and Celosia were showing off – wait, did you see that broadcast?
I did. So that really was his long lost companion, who he's been searching for all these years...
It was, and I think that key was some kind of component for the Ultimate Weapon. Ari kept it on him all these years so no one would be able to use it like he did, but he–
He loves his friend so much that– ohhhhhh, no no no–
What is it, Twilight?
He's making the same mistake I did. He's handed over the only thing that even had a chance of stopping the madman who wants to destroy the world, because he thought it would save his friend in the process.
And I don't think he even got what he wanted, he's still here in the lab somewhere, probably locked up without his floette or the key, and now all that's left is for Lys to kill us all and then it will be complete again, just like it happened before, he wins and maybe we'll all fall into some new world and try to figure that out for a year or so before someone destroys that one too and then–
Twilight! Remember to breathe. You're panicking again.
I– I know. Sorry. It's just–
It's going to be okay. This world will be okay, and you know why? Because this time, it's not Ari and Floette alone. They have us to help, and we know what came before. You have inside knowledge, and I have a strong battling team. We both know what happened in Equestria, and we can stop it here.
I... okay. Yes. Thank you, Fluttershy.
Hoopa is already here with me too, he told me Ari ran off and now we know where to find him. Just say the word, and we will hurry over there.
Soon, I think. But we still need as many friends as we can get. If the Professor is too smitten to be of any help, then what about the Pokemon League? There's a gym in that city you're in, right? Go and see the gym leader, see if they'll listen where Sycamore didn't.
And then... well, I'll let you know the second we need you here. I'll try to play it calm here as long as I can, not get into a fight without you.
Alright. I'll be checking here regularly. Good luck over there.

Equestrian Forms for "A Snake in Horseland"
Since the Arle Arc's nearing its climax I figure I should have these ready. Just focusing in species/Pony Tribe for now, I can figure out cutie marks and shit later.
The Crew (plus Antivirus, Mira and Amy because of course they'd come for this)
Mario and Luigi: Earth Ponies
3 and 4: Unicorns
Meggy: Hippogriff (doesn't have the ability to shift to seapony form)
Bob: Changeling (doesn't quite get the hang of transforming at first)
Boopkins: Dragon (barely looks any different tbh)
Saiko: Unicorn (specifically she has similar proportions to pre-curse Mistmane, including the long curved horn, but more muscular)
Tari: Pegasus
Melony: Alicorn (if you think she wouldn't be one given her abilities you're lying to yourself)
Juliano: Earth Pony
Toad (of course he's here they're trying to save his current house guest): Equestria doesn't know what tf to do with a talking mushroom and leaves him the same
Domain and Forum: Earth Ponies (since they're based on Mario)
Emulator: Unicorn
Antivirus: Changes back to his normal form before anyone can see
Mira: Griffon
Amy: Earth Pony
The Kids Note: not all of them are here because they were kind of on a time crunch for following Ozzy
Lil Coding: You'd think he wouldn't change since there's cat people in FiM (at least if you've seen the movie and comics) but they have specific proportions so there is still a change
Lily: Siren (so, Seapony but she also has a genstone lodged in the base of her neck)
Haltmann Triplets: Earth Ponies (since Elanore is mostly Mario's clone and if it weren't for their hairstyles and outfits Hex and Vee would be Elanore recolors)
Barney: Equestria has even less idea what to do with a robot than a mushroom so there's no change
Fever Quartet Like Sig would leave one of his bug-finding buddies hanging
Amitie: Pegasus
Raffina: Earth Pony
Klug: Unicorn
Sig: Pegasus, but his demon arm manifests as a red bat-like wing
The Anchors (and necessary tagalongs)
Link: Earth Pony
Doc: Domestic rodents already exist in Equestria
Frida: Deer
Timmy: Unicorn
Cosmo and Wanda: Already natural shapeshifters. They initially end up as Breezies but retain all their usual abilities so it's mostly just yet another disguise rather than replacing their usual default forms
Rodney: Earth Pony in base form, Alicorn in Champion form
Mina: Pegasus
Harmony: Her status as Spirit of Heart trumps Equestria's Mirror Magic. No change.
Syndicate Scouting Team
Mr. Crocker: Earth Pony
Vlad/Plasmius: Unicorn/Ghost Unicorn with fake-but-functional bat wings replacing his cape so he looks like a vampiric Alicorn
Vaati: Initially a Breezie Because Picori, quickly changes into a Unicorn
Lokoko: The biggest most ethereal damn deer you ever did see
Admin Gohma: Changeling Queen (has the proportions and more dragon-like eyes of Chrysalis but the bright colors and solid, less zombie-like build of the reformed changelings)
And then I've already said that Ozymandias ends up as a Dragon and Kirin and Garyboy ends up as a Pegasus in my post where I came up with them ending up in Equestria.
#smg4 ocs#a snake in horseland#the pony arc#the grid#meme regulation units#mlp fim#not tagging the characters because there's too many for tumbr's tag limit#not saying what root would end up as since she spends most of the arc not technically existing anymore and i want it to be a surprise#mina and harmony had to come along or else rodney wouldn't really be able to do all that much#i kind of like how the only two who end up as actual alicorns are the ones transformed by legendary magical artifacts#technically if the robot in question were more of an android they'd probaby end up as a pony(or other relevant species)-shaped robot#but barney is not so a clank-lookalike he shall stay#if 3 and 4 were still recolors they'd have ended up as earth ponies like mario and the usbs#if you're worried about the ridiculous amount of characters (especially if you take the locals into account)...#so am i lol

Say hi to Comet Blazer! She's the daughter of Spitfire and Rainbow Dash!
I was surprisingly never a fan of Rainbow Dash. I always thought she was kinda badly written in the show and always get pretty annoyed with her. So when I made an OC based on her, I slacked off a lot. Me and my friend kept joking whenever I drew her that you can see she's my least favourite. Then I told her I was gonna redesign this OC, and she just dumped onto me a full design for her. She likes Rainbow Dash more than me, and they have been asking for the OC for itself even! They were kind enough to let me have the redesign, and I have a lot to thank her for. I had similar ideas, but I wouldn't have come up with such an awesome design as this! So thank you, @ScootTheBat
About Come Blazer though :3 She was born very skilled at flight, and was even enlisted on the Wonderbolts by her parents. She didn't join, and instead became an independent racer. She remains the champion of the Equestria Flight Race. She used to date Golden Noble, but no one knows why they broke up. Comet Blaze is still very attached to Noble, and keeps pestering her at work and trying to get them back together.

On your Equestria Girls rewrite, pretty tragic how Sunset used to be friends with the Rainbooms (albeit only close with Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy back then), what was the reason why she turned mean? And what caused her initial friendship with the Rainbooms to end before the first movie's events?
Sunset Shimmer in the first movie has a gigantic yet fragile ego, so I took that and made it into her fatal flaw: it's a horrible superiority complex hiding some unaddressed abandonement issues. And the root of all that is her attachment to Celestia and the (very misguided but unfortunately not entirely wrong) belief that Twilight replaced her as Celestia's favourite. It was the reason she first portal-hopped into the human world (rather than the "ough i want so much power" from the comics).
In the human world, she no longer had "God's Specialest Girl" privileges, but that actually helped her heal a bit. A mix of RD's tough love and Fluttershy's kindness made her mellow out a bit, and despite still not being a saint (she is rather prickly), it was enough to let her walls down and consider the human 5 her friends. And despite not telling them the entire truth about equestria and ponies and all that, she eventually tells them her backstory, in a roundabout way. And they manage to convince her that maybe it was a really rash decision to run away from home, and she should at least give her "family" a chance to prove to her that they still love and appreciate her.
So she goes back to Equestria when the portal opens again, ready to confront Celestia and/or Twilight. And she sees this

And she recognizes the ponies in the stained glass.
And she sees Twilight there among them, right where she would've been.
And it proves in her head that she was right all along. That Twilight really did replace her. And worse, that rather than fighting for her rightful place as Celestia's champion, she'd just left and allowed Twilight to take it without raising a hoof.
She loses it.
She runs back through the mirror (not without startling a few of the castle staff) and, irrationally furious, lashes out at the human 5 for... a lot of things, really. For convincing her to go back, for betraying her like that (she knows her friends aren't really the ponies in the stained glass, but she's having a breakdown and her mind is kinda conflating her two lives together), etc etc. She becomes extremely inflammatory and unfriendly (can't be abandoned if you push everyone away first), though for some incomprehensible reason RD and Flutters stick around, and decides that she will indeed return and exact her revenge against the world that did not value her as they should have. (Just like a certain Princess of the Night)
That's where we find her at the beginning of the rewrite.
#mlp#my little pony: equestria girls#eqg rewrite#i'm very normal about Twilight and Sunset as a parallel to Celestia and Luna and have not in fact lost sleep over this rewrite#i am also normal about Celestia and the fact that her mistakes create monsters#babbles#no face who dis

Had some more thoughts about a Pokemon MLP AU, specifically about the Crystal Empire. I'm picturing it as a post-game (or late-game) area, with challenges to face, the possibility of challenging Cadance (Elite Four member) or Shining Armor (ex-Champion) again. But the main thing would be the introduction of Terastallization in the area...considering the ponies are crystal, the Pokemon could be, too!
They could also export Z-crystals to the rest of Equestria (so Z-moves are available in a decent part of the story), and...Sombra could be an evil force to defeat. Perhaps one that terastallizes his Pokemon to dark-types.

MLP AU: Rogue: Equestrian Agent
Note this uses the new 2024 rules for Rogue.
The Equestrian Agent is a master of subtlety and intrigue, navigating the delicate social and political landscape of Equestria with a blend of charm, cunning, and, when necessary, swift action. Whether upholding the law, championing freedom, or maintaining a delicate balance, these ponies operate in the shadows, their hooves and hearts guided by their chosen path. From the meticulous Bureaucratic Mastery of the Royal Decree agent to the unpredictable maneuvers of the Whispering Wind and the keen observation of the Ever-Watchful Eye, each Equestrian Agent brings a unique set of skills to the table. They are equally adept at gathering information, negotiating treaties, and, when diplomacy fails, delivering a precisely placed hoof strike. Their abilities, from Equestrian Guile and Stable Secrets to Master Negotiator/Infiltrator and Grand Strategist/Mastermind, allow them to excel in both social and combat situations, making them invaluable assets in the complex world of Equestrian politics and adventure. Whether they serve the crown, follow their own moral compass, or strive for equilibrium, Equestrian Agents are a force to be reckoned with, blending the best of ponykind with the cunning and resourcefulness of a true Rogue.
Choose a path at level 3 you may change it on a long rest
Royal Decree:
Bureaucratic Mastery: You can use your Intelligence modifier alongside your Dexterity modifier when making checks with thieves' tools. You also gain proficiency in History.
Justified Strike: When you use Cunning Strike and choose the Trip option, you can instead choose to inflict the Restrained condition on the target until the end of your next turn.
Whispering Wind:
Shadow Walker: When you use your bonus action to Hide, you can move up to half your speed as part of that action. You also gain proficiency in Acrobatics.
Unpredictable Maneuver: When you use Cunning Strike, you can choose to teleport up to 15 feet to an unoccupied space you can see before or after applying the effects of Sneak Attack. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.
Ever-Watchful Eye:
Keen Observer: You gain advantage on Perception checks. You also gain proficiency in Investigation.
Subtle Influence: When you use Cunning Strike and choose the Poison option, you can instead choose to subtly alter the target's perception, giving them disadvantage on saving throws against being Charmed or Frightened by you until the end of your next turn.
Level 9 Equestrian Expertise: You double your proficiency bonus for any two skills you are proficient in.
Level 13 Infiltrator: You gain advantage on all Charisma checks made to negotiate treaties, gather information from resistant sources, or blend into a crowd. Additionally, if you are hidden at the start of your turn, you remain hidden after making an attack and hitting a creature with that attack, provided you do not move.
Level 17 Mastermind: You can use your reaction when a friendly creature within 30 feet of you is hit by an attack to grant that creature a +5 bonus to their AC against that attack, potentially causing the attack to miss. If the attack still hits, the creature takes only half damage from the attack. You may use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

For one of my absolute favourite fanfics, I assumed for years that it had been written by a woman until I learnt otherwise. Honestly I think it was literally just because from what I’ve seen, the majority of male creators just… don’t flesh out their female characters enough, and usually have less nuanced and/or broad representation in their work. So for the longest time I thought it was a great example of a brilliant work of fiction by a woman, and the level of sophisticated character building in regards to representation of all potential demographics that often brings. When I learnt that it was in fact written by a man it made me reevaluate.
Originally I thought it would make me reevaluate what I thought about the book, but I quickly realised, no, I’ve read (well, listened to) this book full through many times back to back over several years, and I’ve always loved it. Clearly I enjoy the media, so it made me reevaluate my perspective on “gendered writing”.
Just by having a female protagonist and having all the female characters fully fleshed out, I without a doubt expected it to have a female writer. It’s so interesting to see how differently I read different scenes in the context of a male vs female writer, and how legitimate stark the difference in experience is.
I don’t doubt that if I had known that it had a male writer from the beginning I would not have fallen as deeply in love with this story as I have, and it’s an amazing example of how our gendered expectations can change how we experience things DRAMATICALLY.
So yeah, I think I agree with Bettina that writing isn’t necessarily “gendered” but it IS a window into how open and tolerant you are to diversity as an author. If you champion genuine, thought out, non-gimmicky diversity in your stories, it really doesn’t matter. People will have their own opinions and biases as to what they think certain demographics write like. I think it’s best to just focus on yourself, your story, and the inclusivity that both you as a person AND your story display. In big ways or small :)
Oh yeah btw, the story I’m talking about is Fallout: Equestria. Sounds kinda cringy and bad as a concept I know, but it’s genuinely amazing in more ways that I have space/time to list here
do you have advice on how to at least write more feminine or is there not one way to do it? thanks either way in advance
Writing more feminine? 0_o I have no idea what you mean by that. I've never thought about words or writing being gendered in any way. Writing anything, fiction or non-fiction, is simply humans communicating ideas and stories to others, a medium for painting word pictures and sharing information. Writing style is a very personal and individual thing.
Writing isn't feminine or masculine. Maybe it can represent your upbringing, or class, or culture, but I don't think it represents anyone's gender. Maybe knowing the author's gender will change one's perception of the message, but that's being subjective. I don't know of any way to make your writing get perceived by others as specifically gendered.
I don't know why this matters to you, or why you'd ask someone like me for advice, I don't think I'm all that great a writer, or any sort of expert or authority... just write however you like. Write with your own voice. Whatever gender you are right now (or would like to be), your voice has no gender.
