maybe it's because i grew up in the 00s which famously reduced women to objects as much as physically possible without skinning them and turning them into leather, and also which launched the brand of luxury whiteness we see with celebrities like kylie jenner and paris hilton, but when i see a generically thin, attractive white person on TV or in an ad, the image of their face slips through my fingers like water. i may as well be looking at a coat rack for the amount of human connection i feel with them. the Standard Attractive White Human is an object to me, it has been advertised to me my entire life as the thing i should want to turn into. an accessory stand for the handbag photographed in a magazine. i think if you cut timothee chalamet he wouldn't bleed. i think he's papier machet.

Something that Percy learns early on, and i mean really early on, is that you can't save people who don't want and/or ask to be saved. The only thing you can do for them is give them the tools to help themselves and your support. And every time he starts to question this, every time he gets frustrated with someone not helping themselves or he thinks that he could do it so much faster, could fix this problem in a heartbeat, he remembers how relieved his mom felt when gabe was finally gone.

She had that in her the whole time, and now she'll never have to question if she can get out of situations like that again. Because she's done it. And she can do it again if she needs to, even if Percy isn’t around to save her. She can save herself.

He can't in good conscience take that away from anyone. If they always think he's going to be around to save them, when he isn’t they'll be stuck.

And if they don't want to be saved? If someone doesn’t want to be saved and he does it anyway, like with the Briareus, he's either putting them in a worse situation, or they'll resent him, or they just go back. They don't have the knowledge that they did this, they don't have the confidence that they can help themselves.

graduated my apprenticeship a few weeks ago and yesterday was my first day as a tattooist and ——- it literally feels no different lol except i can come and go whenever im done and get paid for it

So I studied the basics about Python today, what are variables and the rules about it, what are data types and what are the different kinds of inputs, learned a lot about the conditional statements and I still have to work on my syntax because it kept throwing errors whenever I ran a conditional statement. In all had a great Day 1, looking forward to tomorrow and lesseee what happens.
