HALLOWEEN BINDS (PART 1) 🧡

I had the most fun and also the most stressful time with this project (but the stress was from the hurricane lol). The 2 fics I picked to do hardback binds were so fantastical with incredibly unique lores that I've never read before. Here are some details of the first one:

This was funnily enough a last minute improv decision because so many things went wrong lol. Thee case was supposed to look scary on the outside while it holds two elegant books on the inside (just like how Remus is perceived in these two fics). Huge shoutout to mrsyoflam and togethertomes for their slipcase tutorials! I could've never done this without them!

This is my contribution to the Harry's Dead Dad Exchange on Instagram, hosted by @Avis Bindery and @moonybinding .

I bound Chained to the Moon by MsAlexWP for Oak.Star.Bindery and I loved every moment of making this fic. It's actually the first fic I ever typeset! (I re-typeset it for this exchange, but it was quite nice to revisit an old friend!)

This fic is a spooky fairytale AU with some horrific elements. It's well written, with lovely characterisation, some old villains, and just a great vibe.

Keys are a recurring theme, so I used a key on the bookmark ribbon and in the typeset footer; moon phases are naturally relevant, so they went in the typeset header, and the end papers and title page; and the vines that I used to separate scenes also relate to the plot. The southern cross constellation appears in the epilogue (spoilers!), and I added it to the typeset at the end and also the back cover. The parts are split with blood drips, and the chapter starts have claw marks in. Basically, I went wild with the halloween horror elements 😬😅

The headbands are hand sewn, but not super well - but it's handmade with love so it won't be perfect 🥰 and the white glitter HTV glows in the dark, which was so fun to add! It cut and weeded beautifully but it was a nightmare to get to stick, especially in the hinge gaps.

I'm so fucking excited to finally be able to share these!!! @msalexwp and I have been SCREAMING over these for the past few days.

I commissioned one piece of art by @dara-art a few weeks ago and she blessed us with 2 pieces - one from myself and one from her because she loved the story so much. I honestly can't thank her enough for the amazing art she created for us.

Alex has been one of my biggest supporters since I started on my wolfstar podfic'ing journey. This art is honestly the bare minimum I can do to thank her. Chained to the Moon is one of my all time favorites fanfictions (let's be honest stories) I've ever read. Everyone should take a few days to devour it's amazingness.

Alex is such a talented writer and every piece of work she creates only improves the fandom. She's not only a gifted writer, but also an amazing person. She's always there to offer a kind word, advice, or support when necessary and listens to my rattle on without any complaints. Thanks for being such an amazing friend. You truly make this fandom a better place!

Sun, leaning down to gently kiss their neck and whisper: Happy birthday, joy of my life, laughter of my soul. Moonie and I have lovely gifts for you.

Y/N, opening their eyes, warmth in their cheeks: my, how time flies with you two. There really was no need for the trouble, your mere presence is the true gift. You two make me so happy.

Sun, bringing Y/N to the mansion's underground chambers, grinning as they eyed the magnificent garments prepared for them: The one on the left is from me. I had produced the finest golden silk for my sweetheart, each fibre whispering of my love for you, each thread of this web echoing with the sighs I had made as I thought of you. My aurora, by day you shall wear the colours of dawn and hope.

Spider demon Moon, appearing from the shadows, reaching to kiss Y/N's hand, gently teasing their sensitive wrist: Too stunned to speak, pretty butterfly? Observe my gift on the right side, a gown of midnight majesty. I had whispered to the stars to ask for your fortune, placing all of their predictions into these silver threads, weaving the patterns of constellations upon silk of finest deep blue. Each thread echoes with the lullabies I had sung for you.

Y/N, speechless: my dearest ones, you are going to make me cry. Wait here, both of you, I actually also have something for you. It may not be perfect, but I am still learning. I will be right back!

A few minutes later

Y/N, returning, offering silken red ribbons with golden bells: You two had changed my life so much and I wish to give something in return, as well. I began to learn your craft and I made these for you. I am sorry if they are not perfect. Here, if you allow me...

Sun and Moon, breathless as they watched Y/N tie the ribbons into perfect bows around their wrists:..

Y/N, smiling gently: now, let's go enjoy the birthday cake together.

Fanfic prompt: Wind is actually a baby god because the use of a god's life force during phantom hourglass has consequences

Like using something this powerful would definitely change someone fundamentally

You couldn’t stay a mortal after something like that

And it would make his beyond broken skill set make sense

He can command someone with the command melody

He can control day and night (song of passing)

He can change the direction of the wind

Can control seagulls and has extreme strength that a kid shouldn’t possess (he can easily hold a struggling pig over his head and throw that poor thing)

And has fire , ice and even light magic (fire and ice got gifted by the fairy queen and the light magic was found in a chest but the fact that he uses his own magic for all of the arrows is just crazy to consider)

Can create hurricanes to bring him to other places and probably destroy the world with them if he wanted too because those are literally just hurricanes)

And after phantom hourglass he Was in constant contact with a god's life force

Had three spirits follow him and killed a deity like demon bellum

And Cielia consideres him her brother (and she is conveniently related to a god ) and she promised to forever protect his dreams form nightmares

He can see ghosts

Stop time

And the spirits are three but the elements of wisdom, power and courage

And time is the fourth and belongs to Cielia

She promised to protect him forever and that means that he would have to live forever

She would happily give him one of her elements to keep her promise

And that would make the spirits be balanced with a fourth one

Wind main while hasn’t noticed it but the chain sure has and is very much going crazy in the background
