"The MorningStars" - sketch wip
Characters: Crowley (from Good Omens series by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman), The Devil (from Cuphead / The Cuphead show by Chad and Jared Moldenhauer MDHR studio and Netflix), Lucifer (from Hazbin Hotel by Spindlehorse studio - Vivvienne Medrano, Amazon). I was feeling nostalgic for The Sims 2, so I created these three Sims trying to give them the right traits and interests to better match the originals. I was inspired by the Christian divine triad like many others, so I inserted "Lucifer (known as the fallen angel), The Devil (the best-known demon of popular folklore), and Crowley as "Satan" (the serpent, the one who the task of testing human faith). And this was their first interaction. Poor Lucifer only wanted to play and Crowley gave him an epic slap while the Devil was giggling in the background! And after that Lucifer started talking bad with Devil about Crowley behind his back, and they became besties. It's funny to simply watch their interactions. 😂

Hi Everyone!! Here are some brand new next gens for my Blossom Love AU. Destiny's parents are Cuphead and Ms.Chalice and Oliver and Teacup's parents are Mugman and Cala Maria. Destiny is very peppy, loves going on adventures and is very skilled in her magic. She's also the leader of her group with her cousins being her right hands. Oliver is super sweet and loves to go on adventures with his cousin as well, but is very shy and can get scared very easily. Teacup's super bubbly and loves to hangout with her family. She's also very adorable and loves to show it off a bit. Destiny, Oliver and Teacup are also friends with Opal (Rarity And King Dice's Daughter) and love to hangout with her whenever she has the free time to do so. Credit goes to Selenaede for the bases I used and to Chad and Jared Moldenhauer, Studio MDHR, Lauren Faust and Hasbro for creating Cuphead and My Little Pony:Friendship Is Magic as well as creating the characters, Cuphead, Mugman, Ms.Chalice, Cala Maria and Rarity as well. I only take credit for my next gens, art, ships, stories and the Blossom Love AU. I hope you guys like them!!!

20 Years of Comfort Characters
Today is my 20th birthday, and I decided to draw every comfort character I've had since I was very young. You can notice there is a diverse amount of characters in this photo XD, some of them were really special to me growing up, but they all have made an impact on me. Halfway to Halloween Countdown (feat. The South Park Specter) Day 29
Day 29 of the Halfway to Halloween Countdown, where we'll be counting down until Halfway to Halloween (April 30 - May 1st). And I'm mixing South Park with Halloween Horror Nights too. And now, our ghost host for the Halfway to Halloween Countdown, the South Park Specter (the Halloween Horror Nights version/ghostly horror alter ego of Eric Cartman).
In this pic, Josie Sakura, Josie Kitty and the Multiverse Five (Cragsters Max, Werner Werman, Nightmare Fredbear, Usagi Tsukino/Salilor Moon and Madoka Kaname) are wandering in the Backrooms when they've encountered the South Park Specter, scaring all but one: Nightmare Fredbear, who is rather annoyed. This is for the 1st anniversary of the day I decided to like South Park again and the first time I did something involving The Backrooms.
Only 2 days left until Halfway to Halloween.
Made with Microsoft Paint and Photopea.

Happy One Year Anniversary To Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course!! 🍰♥️💙💛✨
Happy 1st Anniversary To The Cuphead DLC!! That's Right, The Delicious Last Course Turns A Year Old Today. It Was Released On This Day, Back On June 30th 2022! ✨💛☕
The Cuphead DLC Was Released On This Day In 2022!! Man, How Time Flies..As We Know, This DLC Went Through A Lot And Had Multiple Delays As The DLC Was Originally Supposed To Be Released Sometime Back In 2019, But Was Then Delayed And Told To Come Out In Summer 2020. But, It Ended Up Getting Delayed Once More Since The Team Needed More Time To Finish And Work On The Game As They Wanted To Make It As Delightful And Amazing As Ever And Made Sure It Would Delight The Cuphead Community And It Took The Team At Studio MDHR So Much Time And It Was Certainly A Challenge Especially For What Happened In 2020, But It Was All Worth It In The End! 💗 And After So Many Delays, The DLC Was Officially Released Back On June 30th Of 2022 And It Looks Absolutely Incredible And The Animation In This Game Looks Just As Great And Grand As It Did In The First Game Back In 2017, You Can Definitely See The Time, Love And Effort That Went Into Making This DLC And Everything About This Game Is Just Wonderful And I Honestly Can't Wait To See What Studio MDHR Does Next In The Future! Although, We May Never Get Another Cuphead Game In A Long While And Even If We Don't Get Another Cuphead Game, I'm Excited To See What Else Studio MDHR Cooks Up And Makes. I'm Definitely Interested To See What They Do Next In The Future!

Nekupen #06: Cuphead
It's been a FAT MINUTE since I've posted something here and like, sorry-
What can I say? I'm more of an artist than a writer, I've barely played any video games between the last time I posted here. My life’s been on kind of a rollercoaster. But I’m back, maybe to have another hiatus, maybe to stay for good, and I’m gonna talk about a game that’s part of that rollercoaster. This blog contains spoilers so look at your own discretion nerd.
Cuphead is a indie run-and-gun developed by Studio MDHR. It’s main claim to fame are the visuals. It was so expensive to produce this game that the main two people in charge - Chad and Jared Moldenhauer - had to remortgage their houses. Also, the game just took a while to make. It got unveiled in 2013 (Which is also when Studio MDHR was founded) and it wouldn’t be until 2017 when the game was done and ready to go. And considering the game got a 3-part show on Netflix you can probably imagine how well the game did (good, it did very good, are you getting this - IT DID GOOD)
The plot’s simple, Cuphead and his pal Mugman enter a casino and play some Craps even though they’re underage, but that probably doesn’t matter since it’s a casino owned by : DA DEVIL. DA DEVIL catches wind of the Cup brothers winning streak and makes a deal with them: They get another successful dice roll and they get all the moolah from the casino. They lose, they own their sou-they fucking lose. Cuphead and Mugman are reduced to begging, pleading messes. DA DEVIL’s tired of them being little bitches so he offers them a chance to potentially keep their souls IF they bring him the soul contracts from other people he’s made deals with.
Unfortunately, it’s no easy task, as all the debtors have varying sorts of surreal superpowers and put up a fight. Basically, the game’s difficult as shit. Not like, “Kaizo romhack” difficult” but the game’s pretty hard compared to most games out there, though it’s pretty much the standard for run and guns. Unlike most run and guns, Cuphead is more focused on the boss battles. In fact, at one point during development, it was just boss fights. But they added little levels in between that act as filler, and also for another reason that I’ll get to later.
The gameplay of Cuphead is almost as simple as the story initially but it adds stuff as you progress. You can run, you can gun, and….oh yeah, jump, too. But there’s more than that. Press the jump button again and - oh no you’re pink. That’s a parry slap, you parry stuff with it. Said stuff is specifically colored to be pink. Do that and you fill a card in your super meter. You have five bars you can fill up with damage done to an enemy or boss or a successful parry. You can spend one to perform an EX attack. There’s also the dash maneuver, which allows you to do a lil dash to further your distance from something (or someone) on your tail, or to get closer to something (or someone) and get on their tail. You can also switch weapon types (provided you have a second one equipped).
FURTHERmore, you can buy weapon types and other things to help you out on your adventure at your local emporiums, all run by Porkrind.
You can find coins in the few run and gun stages or on hidden spots from the map or certain NPCS. As you buy out Porkrind's shelf stock more becomes available, so you should probably keep spending. He primarily sells funny tonics that give you different weapon types. Mix n match or change depending on what type of boss you're fighting for the best results. There's also items that can give you an edge over your fearsome foes, like pins that give you extra HP or a smoke bomb that allows you to smoke dash, which makes you invisible (just throwing it out: just get that one).
There's also extra "Mausoleum" stages where you must save The Legendary Chalice from pink ghosts that must be dealt with by parrying. Saving her allows you to gain big super attacks when you have all five cards.
Certain bosses take place up, up, and away from the ground where you’ll pilot a sentient aeroplane that wants to KILL. It’s basically like a shoot ‘em up. You can fire bullets and parry in pilot mode, but you can also turn small and fire weaker bullets but move faster and dodge narrow attacks. Later on you get an alternate weapon type where you can drop bombs that do more damage but go straight down and can only be really used near or above a boss. Both weapon types have their own EX attacks.
There's three "isles", all taking place in Inkwell. Inkwell is full of nefarious nincompoops and you gotta take all of their soul contracts to progress.
And King Dice will make sure of that, blocking you off if you haven't gotten all the soul contracts before trying to leave through the dice houses. You'll be up against a flower, amphibians, a dragon, a pirate, BEES.
Once you beat up the wackjobs in Inkwell Isle 3, you can proceed to DA DEVIL's casino where you'll do battle with King Dice and his henchmen in a game via playing Craps - aka rolling a die. Talk about bookends. After that you finally get to confront DA DEVIL himself. He kinda-sorta fuckin' lied about letting them get off the hook just because they got the contracts (though he never really guaranteed it in the first place). He offers you to join him or suffer. You get a funny alternate ending if you join him but otherwise you also kick his ass like you did with King Dice. Cuphead and Mugman are then celebrated as the heroes of the isles.
On June 30th, 2022, almost five years after the original game came out, Studio MDHR released a DLC expansion for Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course (get it?!).
This expansion adds a whole new isle that contains brand new bosses AND a brand new playable character: Ms. Chalice, who is The Legendary Chalice given physical form when swapping places with one of the Cup brothers through the astral cookie. The plot is that you must find all the ingredients so that Chef Saltbaker can make an astral cookie that grants permanent immortality.
I love this game, so so much. Despite all my grief and rage from certain bosses (specifically the Aeroplane bosses), I enjoy playing Cuphead. It and Donkey Kong Country are definitely my gateway into having tolerance for games that are more difficult than most games. Obviously, considering I'm a big animation fan the game's style is another big appeal to me. But there's another reason I hold this game in high reverence
This game fucking changed my life.
So one day I was having it BAD. Like I just suddenly entered the worst mood of my life. I couldn't take it and fainted for a bit. But then I woke up and felt different. Like I wasn't feeling "myself". But after talking to my friend I realized "oh fuck i'm a different person right now apparently". I already figured I was a system beforehand but this was the first time I ever switched and this systemmate didn't even exist to my knowledge before I replayed Cuphead. And given how that systemmate is, I can say with full confidence that I fanboyed over Cuphead so hard that that fanboy turned into its own individual residing into my head.
video games are fucking awesome, am i right? anyway, go play cuphead. or play any video game, literally any fucking video game, any i've put on this blog, any you've got in this library, a new one even. if cuphead altered the trajectory of my life maybe some random dumbfuck videogame can change yours.

Rotoscoping Animation
Originated by Max Fleischer, Rotoscoping is a photography/animation technique in which an image is projected onto a screen, typically one made of glass or paper, so the artist is able to trace over said image.
This will be repeated until each image aligns to create a set, so then they would be flipped through to create the illusion of the image moving.
The first ever (citation needed) film, aptly named 'The Horse in Motion' (also commonly known as 'Galloping Horse'), was actually created by Eadweard Muybridge, an English photographer.
The film portrays, you guessed it, a horse in motion, as it's galloping along with its jockey on its back.
^ A GIF rendition created using the images.
Muybridge has a whole collection of photographs like it in his discography, seen below is one known as 'Dancing (Fancy)'
And though Muybridge certainly did pioneer in popularising the art form, mentioned previously was Max Fleischer, who had more of a role in truly bringing forth the method, along with his younger brother, Dave Fleischer.
The pair had founded 'Fleischer Studios', and he was attributed with having brought popular characters (of the time) to the screen, with such being Betty Boop, Popeye and even Superman.
In the cartoon, 'Betty Boop - Snow White' (which is a more cartoonish and comedic retelling of the Snow White story), there was a character featured by the name of Koko the Clown (seen on the left), and he has a segment wherein he begins singing as Betty is carried away in a casket.
This segment of the animation was created using the Rotoscoping method, as the original footage was taken from a video of Cab Calloway performing Saint James Infirmary Blues.
youtube
It was only in 1914 where the first ever hand-done animations were to be shown in theatres, however these were described as "stiff and jerky".
Him and his brother had only earned the patent to the Rotoscope in 1917, however they were long since creating series tests from 1914 to 1916.
Though used a lot less commonly in modern years, Rotoscoping methods have been used in some popular (or less popular) media, for example the hit game Cuphead.
Cuphead is an indie game developed by Studio MDHR, and created by two brothers, Chad and Jared Moldenhauer (ironic, right?), and it follows the protagonist and his brother Mugman as they engage on an adventure, battling enemies.
The game is very 'old-timey' inspired, with the rubber-hose style of characters and backgrounds, inspired by the likes of Walt Disney, Warner Bros and.. Fleischer Studios!
An example of the rotoscoping method being used in the game is in the background of the boss fight against Grim Matchstick, specifically, the Tower.
The tower, funnily enough, was actually created as a 3D print (which is actually quite visible in the texture), and there was a camera rigged up so it would be able to take a photo of different angles of the tower, as it rotates within the battle.
Or, an example of a show which we had watched fairly recently, Over The Garden Wall.
I won't go too into depth about the show, but our protagonists are looking for a witch that would help them make their way back home, and they arrive at an old tavern where a crowd of people of different crafts are, ranging from a tailor to a midwife.
One in particular is a Highwayman, who, though they only exist for the short joke, is the main focus.
So, in the scene, whilst Wirt is talking to the other taverners, the Highwayman keeps interrupting with a loud "I'M THE HIGHWAYMAN", in reference to the other characters introducing themselves, however his timing is off.
Until the point where he gets onto the stage, the band instinctively beginning a tune and he starts to sing and.. Dance?
This scene does seem to be animated by the means of Rotoscoping, either that or it was simply motion tracked, but as far as I'm aware, that's more for 3D animation (I could be wrong).
So that was a little delve into the process and method of Rotoscoping.

Hi Everyone!! Here is another next gen for my Blossom Love AU. Opal's parents are Rarity and King Dice. After Cuphead and Mugman destroy all of the soul contracts, King Dice was able to finally have an independent life again. He apologized for all of his wrong doing and tried to reinvent himself afterwards. Cuphead and Mugman were able to convince Elder Kettle to let King Dice stay in their home intill he found a new place to call home. Once King Dice got back on his feet, he realized that he abandoned two passions that he used to care so dearly about, his passion for fashion and music. King Dice is musically gifted and enjoys singing and playing the piano. He's also very gifted in sewing and enjoys making new designs to the latest fashion trends. He started playing shows and making his own clothing line until he caught the attention of the famous fashion designer in Manhattan, Sassy Saddles. She asked King Dice to be her apprentice and to have him work alongside her most successful fashion designer, Rarity, which King Dice accepted the offer and moved from Inkwell Isle to Manehattan. After King Dice and Rarity met, they imminently hit it off and became instant friends. That friendship did turn into romance later on and on the anniversary of Cuphead and Mugman's success, King Dice asked Rarity to be his girlfriend and of course, Rarity said yes. After 3 and a half years of dating, King Dice moved in with Rarity in her Carousel Boutique and proposed to her a month later, of course, Rarity said yes. After being married for 2 years, Rarity and King Dice had their daughter, Opal. Opal is very polite, super agile and quite the sophisticated lady. She prides herself in the art of being polite and being fancy, but not to the point of being snobby and self-centered. She's very selfless and loves creating charity drives to help others. She's also very skilled in playing the piano and doing card tricks. Opal wants to be a musical artist and has even written and performed her very own songs, which were massive hits in Ponyville. Although she doesn't want to be in the family business, Opal does love to practice her sewing from time to time. Credit goes to Selenaede for the base I used and to Chad, Jared Moldenhauer, Studio MDHR, Lauren Faust and Hasbro for creating Cuphead and My Little Pony:Friendship Is Magic as well as creating the characters, King Dice, Cuphead, Mugman, Elder Kettle, Rarity and Sassy Saddles and for creating the locations, Inkwell Isle, Manehattan, Carousel Boutique and Ponyville as well. I only take credit for my next gens, art, ships, stories and the Blossom Love AU. I hope you guys like her!!!
