puck corvin & bellona denezza;
we might just get away with this, the alter is my hips; even if it's a false god, we'll still worship this love.
stayed up to refresh my memory with crackship-making for the hell of it. this one's for my current totally healthy obsession with Maleficent's bastard son and @unholyrph's daughter of the Big Bad Wolf. I own nothing, I just compiled the graphics and am just a message away from modifying this as needed!

Anyone ever notice that the black rapier in Harrow the Ninth (the one that keeps drawing her attention) is described in ch. 16 as decorated with canine teeth? Assuming the rapier is Anastasia's (or Samael's for that matter), does that mean they had a dog?
Now, this is gonna sound a little unhinged but around page 250 of my Nona the Ninth reread, I started suspecting Aim/the Angel/the Messenger is in fact a "perfect" lyctor. Pash refers to her as "they", and on page 250, Camilla/Palamedes "reads" them by touching their hips. Now, Lyctors as we know them are black voids for regular necromancers, right? What if that is a side effect of the cav being used improperly as a battery, and perfect Lyctors are not sucking away all thalergy like that? Did Pal glean something in that tumble which helped him and Cam create Paul? Is Aim the result of Anastasia's and Samael's "failed" (read: perfect) attempt at Lyctorhood? (Side note, even the name Aim works out if we're loosely working with the rules of Paul's name). Did they turn to BOE after EJG deemed their attempt as failed?
Another fun fact: Aim recognized the (I assume) elephant Nona drew as a "cradle creature". The Sanskrit word for elephant is Gaja, denoting fertility, abundance, etc. In many cultures, the elephant is a symbol of fertility, protection, good luck, or even a cosmic creature, which all together sounds pretty close to a cradle. (NOTE: not in Christianity, there it represents human kind as caught in sin and unable to rise.) Did Nona understand "elephant" literally as "cradle creature", like she understands many languages? Does that mean that Aim knows firsthand what an elephant is? Are they 10.000 years old?
Anyway, back to the point! Is Noodle (a descendent of) Anastasia's and Samael's dog??? And did they use their teeth to decorate their rapier? Is Noodle such a good boy that he's 10.000 years old? Or is teeth rapier dog such a good dog that their puppies and bloodline survived forever? Is Anastasia a dog person? Find out next time.

3: I'm fairly open to just about anything for asks, including cucking, cheating, non-con, but understand that if I draw a line and say no, then that's final.
4: I will NOT do gore, scat, piss, diaper, or allow others to outright control my characters.
5: Be respectful of myself and others.
6: While Jacwyn is my current primary muse, any character that appears in the story is available for questions.
7: Feel free to use any of my characters as you wish, draw them, write your own shorts using them, the deal is that you have to then credit me. Feel free to even reblog any chapters or side bits that you enjoy. It helps me out and tells me you like it.

Was skimming through HtN (looking for a completely different passage), and came across this tidbit, which instantly reminded me of this post.
From HtN ch 41, aka the Her Divine Highness AU (emphasis mine):
She knew her eyes were too wide within her sacramental paint—the elegant skull called simply the Chain, which she had been practising for months—when a couple approached, without a retinue.
I don't have any smart things to say about it, but in the context of the chain of Samael, the favor of the chain, and the chain of a kiss, I don't think it's nothing - at the very least, it reinforces the chain motif emphasized by OP.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about Gideon’s blood and the Tomb. I’ve got two points here that dovetail somewhat…
Let’s review some key events. I realize these probably seem a bit all over the place, but I do believe they come together. I’ve tried to put these in roughly chronological order.
John attempts to consume the soul of the Earth, and then creates a physical body for Alecto: “I ripped half my ribs from my body and made you from the dirt, my blood, my vomit, my bone.”
Ten thousand years later, Gideon and Harrow duke it out. The initial recollection of the fight says that “Harrow had scratched until she’d had half of Gideon’s face beneath her fingernails.” The more candid HtN version has Gideon telling us, “You clawed my face so bad that my blood ran down your hands; my face was under your fucking fingernails.”
Harrow opens the Tomb with Gideon’s (read: John’s) blood on her hands.
Harrow sees Alecto, falls in love with her, and decides to live.
At some point while in the Tomb, Harrow apparently kisses Alecto: “She hadn’t come on purpose; the scrap of black-eyed meat had asked for it—the chain of a kiss: the ice that burnt the flesh of the mouth that had stuck to the mouth that was frozen.”
At Canaan House, Ianthe ascends and tells the others that step six of the process is to “consume the flesh. Not the whole thing, a drop of blood will do to ground you.”
Harrow’s letter tells her she owes Ianthe “the favour of the chain”, which extends “into the House, but NOT into the Tomb.” The agreement takes precedence over any oaths sworn to others, including John, except for the Holy Corpse.
Harrow kisses Ianthe to inspect her jaw and re-swears the oath.
Harrow’s Nova AU has her retrieving the chain of Samael from the Anastasian. This is considered a sin severe enough that the Reverend Father whips her, but she is allowed to keep the chain. Denied the role of Reverend Daughter, Harrow tells Ortus that she is “the unfulfilled vow and the bloody teeth of the unkissed skull.”
Alecto kisses Harrow, bites her, and recognizes her by her blood - the blood of Anastasia’s line. Alecto tells Harrow that she is very sorry about Samael, and she vows the favour she had promised to Anastasia to Harrow.
We see over and over this theme of consuming another life, whether body or soul: we get two sides of this coin when we compare Gideon’s “All I ever wanted you to do was eat me” to John’s statement that “it’s the human instinct, to take.” Consuming the flesh is, per Ianthe, one of the steps to taking in a cavalier’s soul and becoming a Lyctor, directly paralleling John consuming the Earth, both physically when he eats dirt and spiritually when he takes in her soul. Thus far, though, we don’t know how or if Harrow consumed Gideon’s flesh in the interim between chapters 36 and 37 of GtN.
But here’s what I’ve been wondering: assuming Ianthe is correct (and telling the truth) about the steps to becoming a Lyctor, to what extent does the order and timing actually matter? I think there’s a distinct possibility that Harrow had consumed Gideon’s flesh years before they even came to Canaan House.
Because Harrow had Gideon’s face under her fingernails. And Harrow bites her nails.
HtN, chapter four:
You held your left hand up before your face, before the light, the even white light with its hot tungsten filaments. The thumbnail was whole and even. Too even? Were you wont to chew your fingernails still, that unattractive tic of your girlhood?
And again in chapter twenty-one:
She took off her gloves, and with the edges of her fingernails - bitten to the quick, and never much help - she started to prise open one wrinkled corner.
If the steps do not have to be completed strictly in order, Harrow may very well have already checked off step six if she were biting her nails with Gideon’s flesh and blood still clinging to them.
The other thing going on here is that we get these repeated connections between chains and favours and kisses. I don’t feel like we have quite all the pieces yet to draw any definitive conclusions, but it seems that the favour of the chain may have something to do with the Reverend Family’s vow to protect the Tomb. Particularly, Harrow describing herself, sans Reverend Daughter title, as “the unfulfilled vow” as she wields the chain of Samael lends itself to this interpretation. I also find it very interesting that this unfulfilled vow is paired with “the bloody teeth of the unkissed skull” given that upon waking, Alecto kisses Harrow, bites her, and draws blood which then allows her to recognize Harrow as one of Anastasia’s descendants.
Before that kiss, though, there was another. Alecto describes being called back by Harrow’s kiss, presumably when she broke into the Tomb as a child. I have to wonder if blood was playing a role here too. Alecto says that Harrow’s flesh stuck on her frozen lips, that the ice burned her. If this kiss also drew blood, it could be that the blood of Anastasia’s line was the key to calling her back. However, there may have been someone else’s blood on Alecto’s lips that day. If Harrow had been biting her nails, which she’d earlier used to claw Gideon’s face, she very well may have had Gideon’s blood in her mouth as well. As John’s daughter, her blood was able to open the Tomb. Was it able to call Alecto as well? Could “the chain of a kiss” be referring to Harrow transferring John’s blood between Gideon and Alecto?
Overall, it seems like we’re circling something akin to a blood oath or living blood ward. The thalergetic nature of blood certainly aligns with the symbolism of life and light that we see connected to the Earth and Alecto, in contrast to the thanergy that John cultivates. Alecto’s physical form is derived from John’s blood, and his power is derived from her soul. If indeed a kiss and a few drops of John’s blood, shepherded into the Tomb by Gideon and Harrow, are enough to call Alecto, I cannot even imagine the pyrotechnics show that we’re in for now that he’s had a run-in with the business end of her sword.

for the writer ask game: 9 & 15 :3 <3
9. What’s your favorite line(s) or scene(s) that you have written?
God I return to BRS so many times now and it's bc that fic gets me every time. Specifically the last few chs where Rin faces off with Satan after getting unsealed and all that sweet sweet Amaimon whump leading up to it. And the reveal scene at the end where all hope seems lost, and then the finale where Amaimon gets whumped again thinking he's gotta step aside in the face of true love ;D (basically any Amaimon whump scene in any fic should be counted as a fav of mine lmao)
And the end scene to TLN where Mephisto finally gets over himself and has his mini revelation/tantrum always gets me too.
And the Amaimon whump from ch 10 Incandescence bc it was literally the scene that kept me writing that fic lol I could picture it so clearly and I Had to write to that point :D
Really I have scenes from all my fics I love but those 3 fics in particular make me so happy every time I reread them lol
There's bits of imagery that I'm really proud of too, like this chunk from ch 2 TLN:
His thoughts traveled an ever expanding path. The dark, overwhelming blanket of Samael's power eclipsing his awareness and blinding him until he could move beyond it. Ever further, the concept of earth drifted, pulled along the whirling eddies and out to sea, a single atom of a grain of sand tugged along the bottom of a vast cosmic ocean.
and this line from BRS:
Time dripped, forming stalagmites in his mind.
I was like nailed it when I wrote those lmao
Thanks for the ask @seidraikiri :D

Do you have a version of the Lone Wanderer? Feel free to infodump.
Aw, you guys are spoiling me :D
My lone wanderer is Samael Rafferty (and yes, they did change their first name to be edgy)
Tumblr media
once again, the image was made from Bright’s Picrew Hell by @/Brightgoat. The horns here are an exaggeration - while they do start to grow horns after the water purifier, they’re pretty small.
Sam is...a lot. They’re standoffish and rude (2 CH), but they’ll help anyone who needs it. They mostly want to just be left alone, but they can’t not help people. They were a mechanic in the vault, and used this to get into places they shouldn’t with the excuse of needing to repair things. Their childhood in the vault is a bit of a haze, as they struggled with dysphoria, mental health issues, and a populace that they just did not get along with. Leaving the vault was the best thing that could have happened to them.
They’re difficult to get close to but extremely ride-or-die for the people they care about. They’re good with kids, animals, and robots, but pretty much everyone else is a no-go. They get the Almost Perfect perk towards the end of the game, which really messes with their head. They use melee weapons because they don’t like the distance guns create and how loud they are. Their main is a deathclaw gauntlet they’ve named Judgement, with 2:13 written on it (Referencing James 2:13, ”For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment”). They also wield swords sometimes. They’re a mutant psychic vampire cyborg and a big fan of body modification.
After the events of 3 they fuck around the capital wasteland for a bit, raising their two adoptive daughters (Marie from The Pitt and Raziel (an oc enclave psyker experiment). After the events of fnv, Sam starts getting weird dreams about a beacon of light in a desert to the west, and take the spaceship (along with their daughters, pets, robots, and supplies) over to the Mojave. There they meet the Courier, the two get along well, and Sam becomes one of their inner circle.
More miscellaneous stuff under the cut
-Tattoos include an ouroborous encircling a halved apple, a deathclaw, radroaches and other insects, a possum skull w/red poppies in the eyes, centipedes over their top surgery scars, alpha and omega symbol on the back of their hands, left knuckle tattoos of the alchemical symbols for water/fire/earth/air, right knuckle tattoos of swords/cups/wands/pentacles, card suits under their eyes, 21:6 on their wrist, scythe with the blade aligning with their lower ribs, along the spine descending are: radiation, biohazard, electricity/lightning strike, flame, broken test tube, skull and crossbones, exclamation point, left forearm has cracks like broken glass with eyes peering through while the right has thorny plants, spider behind their ear, golden spiral, various quest-related tattoos (ex. Ufo, tree, ant spiral), and more that i haven’t detailed out. They have very little uninked skin at this point lol
-Moira is one of the few people they actually like
-Traveled almost exclusively with Dogmeat. They hung out w Butch in Rivet City but didn’t really go anywhere with him. Not sure about Charon because his whole deal is deeply uncomfortable to me and I still haven’t figured out how to handle it, but they probably did travel together at some point. Fawkes is chill.
-They sacrifice themself in the water purifier because they have some suicidal tendencies and feel like they must do it because both of their parents died for this; they weren’t expecting to live past their twenties, even in the vault. They’re doing a lot better now.
-Never take a job without payment, but what they count as payment can vary wildly (they once dealt with some raiders in return for a kitten)(they name the kitten Fishbone)
-5’ 3”
-left handed ambidextrous, which makes using the pipboy annoying
-They’ve picked up a few mutations. As mentioned, they’ve got small horns growing from their forehead, and they have tapetum lucidum (the material in eyes responsible for glowing in the dark), plus their teeth are pointy.
-Raised in a vault + ex-catholic + autism + extremely scientific manner of looking at things + read a lot of very old books + mimicry = the weirdest manner of speaking you’ve ever heard.
-their flip lighter has a moth engraved on it
-at some point they hack an eyebot and name it Pluto
-Hoarder, tends to pick up anything not nailed down. Won’t steal from people who are really struggling or who they like. Tends to only keep the most intact or valuable objects of a certain type and will gift the rest to other people. What they do keep is carefully displayed in their home - it's very much like a museum.
-Horse is named Barbie, short for Harbinger, and was a gift from the Courier.
-They were in love w Amata but that...really didn’t work out
-I have a whole playlist for them but one of the songs I associate the most with them is Honey I'm Home by GHOST; I specifically prefer the Umbra cover, but both versions are good

WAIT i voted "only BoE remembers" but actually -
the cloisterwomen painted their faces alabaster grey and drew black patterns on their cheeks and lips like death’s-heads. (GtN ch. 2)
Gideon also calls her own face paint a "death's head" twice throughout that book. And it's not just her:
the black chain of Samael Novenary—true black Drearburh steel, each link a death’s head, the weighted end a carved butterfly of pelvis in lead-filled bone—clinked unmusically against itself. (HtN, ch. 40)
So it appears that not only does that visual still exist, it's also something the Ninth specifically modeled itself after. Which is very interesting considering that while John gets called "the Kindly Prince of Death" it's Alecto who is consistently "the death of god/the emperor/the lord".
I'm not sure exactly what it means, but I'm turning it over in my head with the fact that Anastasia apparently founded the Ninth against John's explicit wishes. Just - hm.

ALRIGHT, THEORIES POST KOTC.
MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD. Don't read this post before finishing it. Save it or something, if you want, but don't read before finishing Kingdom of the Cursed!
I also posted the questions I have here, so if you have any theories about them, feel free to answer there too!
-
I do believe there's substance to the reincarnation theory. That Emilia and Vittoria are reincarnations of/connected to other, more ancient powers.
Celestia keeps calling Emilia 'Daughter of the Moon' and 'Daughter' in Ch-34. And I seem to recall the Crone was supposed to symbolise the moon and the night (?). So what if Emilia is actually her daughter that was cursed and went missing from the realm? And I think Wrath knows about the true identity of both Celestia and Emilia.
As for Vittoria, I think she's either a reincarnation of La Prima or her daughter.
Still going on with this theory, I think Emilia and Vittoria were definitely connected in their past life as well.
Emilia said it felt like the truth when she said the grimoire was hers. If the reincarnation theory turns out right, she would definitely have claim over her own mother's grimoire, which in witch lore are often passed over generations.
What if the Crone cursed the consort/ The First Witch's daughter in revenge for La Prima cursing hers?
Also, we've been told that La Prima was the daughter of the Sun Goddess and a Demon, and then there's this whole Daughter of the Moon thing going on with Emilia. AND Vittoria’s cornicello is gold and Emilia's is silver. Sun and Moon? This could be a coincidence, but like...there's too much for it to be a random relation. 👀
In chapter 16 of KOTC, Envy says The Fallen was the sculpture depicting the day the Devil lost his wings...and in the Wrath POV bonus chapter from KOTW, he says that he was once content with the fiery passion of love, but had given everything up the day he had Fallen, so I'm assuming that here, when he says Fallen, he's referring to losing his wings...? Now, at the end of KOTC's prologue, it looks like he made a bargain with La Prima. What if part of his bargain was to give up the person he had loved, which from the memories/visions Emilia had, points to it being her past life/self...?
"Perhaps you refuse to look too closely at him because of what it reveals about you. He is your mirror. And rarely do we appreciate what stares back at us." - Idk why but I feel like "He is your mirror" is a significant line. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to add them!
There's all the talk of Wrath and his inferno in both the books...And now EMILIA CAN SUMMON FIRE. I don't think this is a coincidence.
Emilia has this Moon association going on with her...and in the Crescent Shallows, someone (I think it could be Wrath 👀) had painted the phases of the moon. What if it was in the memory of her past-life self? Or part of some attempts to make her remember the curse?
In her scrying session, Claudia says “He wishes to remember, but only forgets". So what if part of Wrath's curse is that he forgot all of the time he spent with Emilia's past self?
The statue in the garden. The snake seems to be symbolic of Wrath. As for the woman, I feel like she has the Emilia aesthetic? The crescent moons, the flowers? The fury in her eyes, when Wrath is Emilia's ✨favourite sin✨. All of it makes me think this is Emilia's past self. The Serpent and The Vengeful Lady? Wrath/Samael and Emilia?
I would probably have some more later, but for now, this is it, I think. If anyone has any theories of their own or thoughts on these, PLEASE COME SCREAM WITH ME OVER THEM! You can reply/reblog here, or send them in an ask, PLEASE DON'T HESITATE. I'm always up for clowning over this series and over PrinceWitch! 🤡
