Hello readers! I have returned. I apologise for my absence, but moreso for the lack of an interesting tale! See, there was no writer's curse; I am not plagued, nor am I dying! But exams came before mental health, and mental health was already coming before BBB.

That being said, the next FIVE CHAPTERS are already written, meaning that they should be (fingers crossed 🤞) coming out in a more regular schedule!

And, that's not even to mention that — after these chapters — aaaaall our waiting will pay off. That's right, readers! An end is in sight (or, at least, an end to the denial.)

That's not to say that it will be smooth sailing from here, but it is to say THANK YOU for being so patient

Oh man, I had a few of them this year. One that made me laugh toward the beginning of the year was this one:

I think this is my new favourite last line

The reason it made me laugh is because I agonized over that chapter and what the last line of it should be and then this line came to me and I was like, absolutely perfect, lol

I love hearing that I was able to invoke different emotions during a reader's story consumption. That tells me I did my job with the characters and the story.

A WING AND A PRAYER

All I have for this is a working summary and a tentative title, but this is one I didn't write this year:

After a feral werewolf decimates the pack of a tiny town, FBI Special Agent Stiles Stilinski discovers a lone baby hidden in some underbrush. Since his fellow agents know nothing about the supernatural—or about werewolves—he immediately conceals his discovery and hurriedly takes an extended leave of absence from the bureau. Then he drives back to Beacon Hills, the last place he wants to be, to seek help from the one werewolf he never thought to see again.

Newly re-minted Alpha Derek Hale knows next-to-nothing about babies, but once he gets his first glimpse of the cute golden-eyed werewolf blinking up at him from a brand-new baby carrier, he vows to do whatever it takes to protect them. Which means, for the foreseeable future, he and Stiles will have to share space—with a baby.

DJ DEREK

I don't have anything for this one beyond an idea of Derek working as a DJ when he first meets Stiles at some kind of party, club, or wedding reception and the two become enamored with each other.

REVENGE FIC

Nothing for this one beyond this basic premise: Derek Hale spent years waiting for the day he could avenge his family. He never expected his revenge to come in the form of his enemy's son that has no idea who he is when he steps inside Derek’s auto garage. Making the guy fall in love with him is child's play, but falling in love with him in return? That's just asking for trouble...the kind from which Derek knows he might not make it back.

BARDO FIC

This is another one in my idea folder this year that I didn't get around to writing. But I have a basic premise for it:

Ever since the Nogitsune returned to Beacon Hills to cause havoc in the lives of his loved ones, FBI Special Agent of Supernatural Intelligence Stiles Stilinski has dreamed of a red-eyed Derek Hale. But what does it mean? And why does it keep happening to him of all people?

Essentially, Derek is trying to communicate with Stiles, the only one who has ever believed in him and strived to keep him alive. He knows that, if anyone can help him get out of the mess that he’s in, it will be Stiles, but first, he needs to convince the idiot he is real and in need of his help.

Rumor Has It Ch 2: Showdown at the New Fett Palace

Hooray for finally updating a fic I posted months ago! Here’s chapter 2 of my Boba/Leia fic.

A Jedi, a smuggler, and the Huttslayer walk into Jabba’s old palace. Two bounty hunters and a sharpshooter receive them. What’s the worst that could happen?

“He’s the one from the light cruiser,” Din explained without shifting his gaze — or his blaster — from Skywalker.

Boba swiveled his helmet sharply toward Fennec. “The Jedi on the cruiser was Skywalker?”

No. The galaxy couldn’t possibly be that small.

Organa didn’t take her eyes off Din. “Luke,” she said calmly, as if she wasn’t being held at gunpoint. “Is that Grogu’s Mandalorian?”

“How was I supposed to know?” Fennec snapped at Boba, still sighting on Skywalker. “I’d never seen him before, and no one else recognized him, either. Mando had already found a different Jedi, so there’s others out there. And it’s not like he said, ‘Hi, I’m Luke Skywalker, and I’m here to rescue your little green kid.’”

“You didn’t introduce yourself?” Organa, hands still in the air, glared at Skywalker with murder in her eyes.

“I was a little busy taking down a squad of Dark Troopers, Leia!” Skywalker’s voice rose in pitch. “And you know I hate giving people my name. I also didn’t fully understand Grogu’s relationship with the Mandalorian until later, when —”

“Hang on.” And great, just what Boba needed, for Solo to open his big fat mouth. At least he only waved his empty hands and not a weapon. “This is the Mando with the weird lightsaber that had the Baby Yoda?”

Skywalker — hands still in the air and facing the weapons pointed at him — sighed and turned his head to almost casually speak to Solo behind Organa. “Han, you never even met Master Yoda.” It sounded like an old argument. (And where had Boba heard that name before, Yoda?) “If anything, you should call Master Yoda ‘Old Grogu.’”

Solo, true to form, grinned and held out his hands in a Who, me? gesture. Only the small solace that the bastard was an ass to his friends, too, kept Boba from drawing his own weapon. “Listen, I still can’t believe there’s even one creature in the galaxy that looks like that, much less two.”

So, as beautiful and absolutely heartbreaking in the best way as this scene was

As someone who has worked with toddlers I also found it sort hilarious.

When I changed my glasses from a large dark frame to a small pale gold frame, the kids in my class FREAKED OUT. Like, just stared at me with extreme levels of sus all morning. One wouldn’t even let me hold her the first day because I was obviously a different person since my face had changed.

I know Baby Yoda has the Force, and probably recognizes Mando by his like Force-aura more than by appearance, and he also saw him taking off the helmet, but I was still waiting for the moment of total baby panic over dad apparently TAKING OFF his normal head and WHAT THE F YOU HAVE ANOTHER FACE?!?! 🤣
