A birthday gift for my roommate and one of my best buds. Based on the "Let 'er Buck" painting for Pendleton Roundup by Wallace Smith with a more Leyendecker painterly style to it (because that's what I'm better at imitating). Ceres is my NPC that Pwyll (which is pronounced Pwish) fell madly in love with.

Oh okay that is a hard one, but one of my favorites is probably Ceres.

I actually had another name for her in the initial concept of her story about two (three? five?) years ago (her appearence was also different but I digress). I had watched an anime named Hyouka and I found the name nice so I changed the sound a little and named her Kyouka. Then I changed her name again to Asheér and then I was not happy with it so I changed it to Ceres and then I was not sure and almost changed it to Charon and then I decided to keep Ceres. So yea 👍

She is the co-protagonist of my Meine wip (basically its in a world thats mostly like ours but ppl usually have powers and the villain is some corporate that wants to collect children with particularly especial powers for diverse purposes) and her power is "The Archive", an uncommon power (that is actually derived from an anomaly so its not even technically a power but i anyways) and makes her able to copy other people's powers or store them for later use. Because of that, she caught the interest team of experts who were running a project on powers like hers and so she was kind of raised there. The name of the project is "Arkisto" so that's also the name they gave her, but later she chooses her own name: Ceres (its one of the moons of pluto and the roman goddess of harvest)

anyways, here's some splash art i made of the solar project gang a little while ago. i put off working on these for a LONG TIME because i really didn't want to make boring old character references like i did last time. solution: i just allowed myself to draw them however i wanted!!

currently obsessively working on the new season. it's a bit of a doozy. i just love seeing my little characters do their silly little activities (and crimes).
