I SAW MY WORK WITH THE DIFFERENT SIDE AS A GUIDE 💚 ⠀ Late January of 2020 I had a tour which was extremely different types of journey with the kind-hearted siblings from UK @hennam_x @aasimmahmood99. We came to Acha-Kaindi village (At-Bashy district, Naryn province - 5 h from Bishkek) to visit a family with six children who does need support. A lady, Saltanat (on the left side) is making nice Kyrgyz carpets and souvenirs by herself. ⠀ Our mission was to purchase some stuffs from her so that support her in a such way. We met all her family and had a lot of fun by cooking national Pakistani food together. It was warm and nice atmosphere. Henna became an influencer for me to change my vision for my work. I realized how it's helpful and great to help/support such families. I was feeling that I can be useful/helpful for people who need help/support. I felt my heart was satisfied with what I did. ⠀ The reason I'm writing it is calling you to help to Saltana by ordering / purchasing /supporting /helping to find clients to buy her works. I can be a connector between this family and you. I'm sure that the life is like boomerang. If you help to people than the universe gives you good positive things ten times more in different way. You can contact me any time. My gratitude to wonderful @ramankoulova and her family for warm and friendly welcoming to their home and organizing a meeting with the family there. Next post will be about them. 😍🙏 ⠀ #kyrgyzstan #central_asia #charity #charity_kyrgyzstan #erkaiym_guide #INDYGUIDE #visit_kyrgyzstan (at At-Bashi) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8-edrbHaB2/?igshid=41hfanir0h8v

Title: Sino-Indian Engagement in Central Asia: Implications for Pakistan
Abstract:
Five Central Asian Republics (CARs) got independence in December 1991 as a result of the collapse of the USSR. Politically, economically, strategically and geographically Central Asia is regarded as the Heart of Asia. This region is the hub of the natural resources. It became a battle ground for the states which have interest in its hydrocarbon reserves. The paper examines the ongoing competition between China and India for the resources of Central Asia. Both of these countries are eyeing the huge potential of trade relations with this large market. They were also trying to create energy partnerships with the gas- and oil-rich region. This resulted in competition between the two countries inof the region. This article describes China and India as competitors in this region. As a neighbouring country, this engagement of China and India has serious implications for Pakistan.

Topic: Expression of Socio-Political Zeitgeist in Tsarist Central Asia Printing
Abstract:
Orientalist approach to Central Asia especially Bukhara in our historical references present a romantic picture. This paper takes publications and printing as the indicator of intellectual maturity of the population and progressive zeitgeist in socio-political life. Analysis of historical events and facts reveal very little appetite of reading, almost universal ignorance and scarcity of written/printed books. The transformation of Central Asia took place after introduction of presses during the Tsarist control. With the arrival of printing, not only literacy increased but also the scope, number and range of topics expanded. As a result of printing/publication, the Jadidist ideology emerged and opposed the Qadimist status quo. Ultimately the Jadids prevailed. Therefore, the paper establishes that socio-political awakening and increase in printing/publication are linked. The paper recommends revisiting errors in the representation of Central Asia in our accounts of history

From Wikipedia Picture of the Day; June 4, 2018:
The Black-tailed Godwit (Limosa limosa) is a large, long-legged, long-billed shorebird first described by Carl Linnaeus in 1758. There are three subspecies, all with orange head, neck and chest in breeding plumage and dull grey-brown winter coloration, and distinctive black and white wingbar at all times. Its range stretches from Iceland through Europe and central Asia during the breeding season, wintering in areas as diverse as the Indian subcontinent, Australia, western Europe, and west Africa. The species is more likely to be found inland and on freshwater than the similar bar-tailed godwit. The world population is estimated to be 634,000 to 805,000, and the species is classified as Near-Threatened.

Insta-stans: the cities of post-Soviet Central Asia captured on Instagram
Social media allows people who live in or pass through the ‘stans to share glimpses of their cities with the world
The internet came to Central Asia in the late 1990s. Decades on, some countries have the lowest levels of internet penetration in the world due to factors including geographical isolation, barriers to infrastructure and political restrictions.
According to the World Bank’s 2015 statistics (the most recent available), Kazakhstan is the most-connected of any country in the region, with nearly three-quarters (73%) of the population online – compared to 43% in Uzbekistan, 30% in Kyrgyzstan, and 20% in Tajikistan. In Turkmenistan, just 15% of the 5.6 million population use the internet.

Hungry China = Hungry Tajikistan?
Article by Clay (Jan. 2011) from: http://claywestrope.blogspot.co.id/
In a country like Tajikistan – landlocked, post-conflict, few natural resources, 93% mountainous, crumbling infrastructure and a questionably corrupt government – investors are hard to come by. Some recent discoveries and actions, however, may be changing Tajikistan’s luck. Whether this will be positive or detrimental to the country’s future development remains to be seen. Last month Gazprom announced that it had discovered approximately 60 billion cubic meters of natural gas, or the equivalent of 50 years worth of domestic use. This is good news for a country that has become so reliant on natural gas for heating from Uzbekistan that during periods of chilly relations or delayed payments, supply has been suspended causing untimely deaths for some of Tajikistan’s population.
This is in addition to the massive hydroelectric project currently underway at Rogun Dam that is expected to help make Tajikistan a net energy exporter to countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan in the near future. And Rogun is not the only hydroelectric project planned for this glacier-rich country. Also, just this month, two new gold deposits were found in central and north Tajikistan, totaling 117 tons and 59 tons respectively. With the help of Chinese mining companies, these deposits could help increase Tajikistan’s current 1.3-1.5 ton production annually.
So I mention the Chinese.
China has made immense investments in Central Asia in recent years. As the global leader in energy consumption, China has been furiously looking for other sources to fuel its economy. China has provided $10 billion to Kazakhstan to help boost its economy in exchange for a construction of a pipeline that is expected to carry 400,000 barrels of oil per day to China. There are already 15 majority Chinese companies in Kazakhstan. The Chinese have even overtaken Russia’s influence in Kazakhstan with Chinese companies importing 18 million tons of oil from Kazakhstan in 2009, compared to just 6.4 million tons by Russian companies.
In Turkmenistan it’s the same story, with China already signing contracts to purchase up to 40 billion cubic meters of Turkmen gas annually. This is after $7 billion of approved soft loans to Turkmenistan in order to develop specific gas deposits.
So what does this mean for Tajikistan? Well, the Tajik government just announced that it was going to lease land on Tajik soil to allow 1,500 Chinese farmers to grow food for the Chinese. This is certainly disconcerting in a country that has difficult producing enough food for its own people. The government has given the justification that the Chinese will bring with them contemporary farming techniques and develop land that has been left fallow due to labor shortages from labor migrations to Russia. People in Tajikistan aren’t so sure.
One issue is the fact that this means a large incursion of Chinese into the country to work the fields. There were 30,000 Chinese migrant laborers in Tajikistan in 2007 working on roads and mining sites. This number had jumped to 82,000 by 2010. This is likely to expand rapidly with this new deal in Tajikistan – a reality that does not sit well with many in Tajikistan.
This new deal comes right on the heels of an announcement that Tajikistan had ceded 1,100 square kilometers of Tajik land (1 percent of the country’s total land area) to China.
With China’s rapidly growing influence and investment in the region, one has to ask what the benefits will be. With Chinese laborers building these projects keeping employment from a Tajik population of young people desperately in need of work and with land being leased or ceded to China for food production in a country that has periods of high food insecurity, investment may come at a net cost to the people of Tajikistan. An energy and nutrition hungry China may mean a perpetually hungry Tajikistan in the future. Topic: Mitigating Challenges of CASA-1000 for Greater Regional Cooperation
Abstract:
To sustain economic growth of the South Asian region, an uninterrupted supply of abundant Central Asian energy needs to be ensured. The situation for energy trade between the two regions is mutually beneficial. The Central Asia South Asia Electricity Transmission and Trade Project (CASA-1000) is a well-thought initiative to fulfill the energy demands of the region by transmitting 1300 megawatts electricity from Tajikistan and Kyrgyz Republic to Afghanistan and Pakistan. Central Asian partners are enthusiastic on the completion of CASA-1000 as the project is expected to bring an economic boost to the countries. Despite many opportunities, the project is facing some challenges in the form of financing of the project, security of the transmission lines, political instability of Afghanistan, and sustainability. This paper attempts to highlight challenges which may impede the successful implementation of the project.

Title: New Great Game in Central Asia: An Analysis of China’s Interests
Abstract: The importance of Central Asia for China increased with the change in international power structure, growth of its economy, rapid industrialization and increase in population. China is regarded as the second largest energy consumer in the world while Central Asia has rich energy resources and raw materials complementary for its economic growth. It is interested in the energy resources of Central Asia for the security of its energy supply and a large market for its finished goods. Prior to Central Asian energy resources, China was importing oil from the Middle East. The route of oil supply from M.E to China was passing through Malacca strait, under the control of United States, a perceived rival of China in the world politics. In case of conflict this route may be blocked by United States. This situation worried the Chinese policy makers and prepared a comprehensive policy regarding the energy resources of Central Asian region. Energy is not the only concern of China in Central Asia; it is also worried about the security of its Xinjiang, sharing border with some Central Asian Republics (CARs). About 60% of the population of Xinjiang are Uyghur Muslims. The same ethnic community also exists on the other side of the border in the Central Asian Republics. China has an apprehension that in case of instability in the region, terrorists organizations may instigate the China’s Uyghur for independence. That is why, China is supporting United States in its fight against terrorism. Politically, it wants to reduce the influence of United States in the region by integration with the CARs (Central Asian Republics) through SCO particularly after US military penetration in the region in 2001. Applying a descriptive-analytical approach in the paper, the interests of China in CARs are surveyed.
