Romina, Scarlet Rot and God of Rot interpretation? What is the Abyss and what 'stagnation' has to do with Scarlet Rot?

(This is a reply for an ask I've got on my other blog) Anon I am sorry I am THIS late, I swear it was just me deliberately avoiding progressing in the DLC because I didn't want it to end + bad timing :pensive: But thank you for leaving this ask because I did want to discuss her as soon as I've met her!

What Happened:

She WAS a victim on Messmer's tyranny, and shown in the second trailer ( x )! Moreover, she originally appears to be from Belurat; not only this trailer shows Messmer specifically burning it, but also this is the exact previous scene before Romina appears:

So I am getting an impression that originally, these buds appeared in Belurat, and somehow Romina knew to relocate them somewhere else:

+ Also, if anyone here can read Japanese please let me know because I've heard that a more accurate translation would be 'she found a divinity and clung to it' or something alike! Here is the Japanese text:

Abyss and Stagnation in this:

My initial interpretation was that originally, this type of buds was growing IN Belurat, and then what she saved got relocated in Rauh Ruins, but "within the scorched remains" part makes it sound as though their fate was being decided right in the moment of the tragedy! So, somehow, what later became Scarlet Rot appeared within the ruin! After all, Formless Mother is another precedent of a god originating from the tragedy:

But why would a plant-insectoid life sprout within the fire? So, basically, I'll dive into headcanons territory for this post, but hear me out! We are not sure what the 'Abyss' is, however.. what IF, when Messmer gets a bit TOO into using his powers, the power of Abyssal Serpent is capable of opening sort of a 'gateway' into somewhere else, and some kind of horror might escape that 'Abyss'?

+ I need to add that Abyss of the serpent plaguing Messmer and Abyss of the woods tormented by Frenzy are different things though; whereas serpent's Abyss is 深淵 meaning literally an abyss, Woods' Abyss is 奈落 that means Naraka (Hindu Hell)! His serpent is AKTUALY named Base Serpent, but he refers the 'Abyss' in his Stage 2 transition: '光無き、深淵の蛇が'. ( x ) In fact, his dialogue in both English and Japanese original suggests the 'Abyss' is a PLACE, where Base Serpent comes from! The mysterious space without light!

Look I can't help using this meme just deal with it fdsgfdgs So, let's say that Messmer got so unhinged that the gravity of his powers still opened up the Abyss a little, even despite the seal Marika gave to him!

The next interesting thing is that there are no traces of Scarlet Rot in Belurat, despite Romina presumably releasing/creaing it right on that spot! There ARE poisoned swamp, the illness that turns people into fly-men, and even giant Spider Scorpions that are a variant specifically developed because of Romina:

+ they likewise deal regular poison, not Scarlet Rot! Some of them developed the wings as well:

So it is more likely that what Romina allowed to live (to the worse or to the better you decide) was not yet the Scarlet Rot itself, however it developed INTO it later, together with her. But what was freed that day and what left its traces in Belurat, as well as spreading across more of the Shadow Realm with at least two villages full of man-fly sickness, was 'stagnation'!

It is a concept commonly addressed across other Fromsoft's games, specifically the stagnation of water 穢れ (kegare)! Poison and Scarlet Rot are connected through themes of poison AND stagnation of water! It is what becomes a poisonous swamp, one of the most Rot places is literally named Stillwater Cave and all that. Scarlet Rot is a 'stronger' version of the venom that becomes of stagnation!

^ (looking through this ( x ) model view video) Additionally, Romina features not only part of the scorpion but also part of the centipede, and centipedes were used as a symbol of human dregs in Sekiro and Bloodborne!

I've also noticed that Blood of Formless Mother, Scarlet Rot and Deathblight are all connected by shared themes of plantlife and spontaneoutsly sprouting winged insects! With the cursed blood, flowers quite literally grow from it and flies spawn from impurities within festering blood swamps. Deathblight are literally roots with multiple flies spawning along them + often getting to fly free too. Scarlet Rot IS associated with flowers and butterflies, and whereas Malenia herself never got insectoid wings (since wings of Goddes of Rot ARE the butterflies, like stated by Romina's incantation), her knights did:

These three scourges feel like three ugly siblings to me fsdhhfds Needless to mention that Blood Oath, Scarlet Rot and general poison incantations are crammed into the same category, and Death ones aren't here only because they're sorceries!

More interestingly, in Rauh Ruins we find not only Scarlet Rot, but also the Bloodfiends (so, the Formless Mother guys) AND Deathblight:

^ I forgot to take the picture as a proof that the Dancing Lion in Rauh uses Deathblight, so here is screenshot from this ( x ) video of battling it! There are NO Deathroots anywhere near its arena, however it summons Basylisks in the second stage and deals Deathblight damage itself! Divine beasts, additionally, are Belurat thing too!

So, we have all three of these 'affiliations' in Rauh Ruins, giving a strong impression that it is full of Belurat survivors! Whereas the man-flies sickness is found here too, Romina, Bloodfiends and death-dealing Dancing Lion all feel like they've went separate Pokemon Eevelution from the same initial 'stagnation' concept that is the sourse of fly sickness fhhsdgfds I think that either 1) it is exactly what I just joked about, and stagnation is able to naturally develop into one of these stronger "branches" over time or 2) it develops into something specific under influence of an outer god; Deathblight doesn't need 'Prince of Death' since Outer God of Death IS a thing!

Survivors of Belurat here found their affiliations, initially getting afflicted by the "clean" form of it, fly sickness Romina allowed to escape and live!

^ So yeah @ second anon, I do also think that Romina in Rauh guards what is left of her civilisation! Such as one of like, two Dancing Lions and other Hornsent that unfortunately got manfly sickness too! Except, she is not antagonistic to the Scarlet Rot or sees it as her tragedy, but on the contrary: she sympathised with it!

I know it sounds more like a fairytale than an solid theory, but my impression is that a lot of 'waste' goes into the Abyss space and supposedly should have been burnt by the Base Serpent forever! Not as something inherently evil, but just a natural part of the course of life! Eiglay is the God-Devouring serpent, too! Both of them serve as the forces that ensure everything and everybody meets their end eventually, they might even be related! Again, Dark Souls for one had ten Primordial Serpents! We know three here (Base Serpent, Winged Serpent and God-Devouring Serpent) but it could be still a throwback like Fromsoft loves doing!

I think maybe someone, at some point, believed that living forever was a better idea and might have "killed" Base Serpent and Eiglay both! As we know from Rykard's last words though, 'serpent never dies' and he probably was right!

^ Whereas Eiglay had to grow back from a tiny snake again, Base Serpent settled in Messmer's body being so tiny that it could curl behind his eye! Both needed to recover their former power, so whatever eventually slipped in the Abyss was free to persist, rot further and escape back into the living world given the chance!

+ bonus:

Trina ends up having a lot of petals and flowers as part of her body, not unlike Romina, whereas Miquella had insectoid wings at the moment of being kidnapped! The same trademarks of the 'stagnation' again!

I questioned whether it was just Crucible at first, since it also features flowers and wings! In the DLC we've learned that the Fell God himself was connected with the Crucible (Furnace Visage) and Radagon has his red hair due to the curse of his Fire Giants (Giant's Red Braid) 🤔 But.. crucibles are MANY things. It is also horns, spikes, feathered wings, scales, you name that! A LOT of aspects of organic life and not just these two! So I think the Crucible Curse is safe to stay within Morgott and Mohg, and this more likely refers to Miquella himself getting infected at some point! Whether it was having sucked Scarlet Rot out of Freya's wound, or napping in the Haligtree that was getting slowly scarlet-rotten, or both! Sure there are no traces of it left when he becomes a God, but Trina was discarded before that of course! Alternatively, he was a victim of stagnation himself due to not being able to age physically. He, himself, was a lot like Scarlet Buds that are "never to bloom". Endless child state of a body and buds that can't bloom are like eggs that can't hatch but will go terribly bad over time.. what is MORE stagnant?

Who is the God of Rot and why the pink color?

Another side of Romina is a tail of a scorpion, and the giant variant of Spider Scorpions is said to be the result of her actions! At the same time, God of Rot itself was scorpion-like!

I think this makes it... oddly coincidential, that God of Rot is a scorpion at least partially, whereas scorpions are native for the Shadow Realm AND were important animals for Belurat! Like I said before, Belurat strangely has no signs of Scarlet Rot for a place where Romina presumably created/unleashed it!

So, maybe rather than God of Rot already existing as is, it received a particular form in the 'outside' world! I'd say the same for Formless Mother, but her form is ABSENSE of form kind of fdhshdfs Maybe 'receiving the character' is a better way to describe it! Formless Blood, Scarlet Rot and most likely Deathblight didn't exist "outside" but developed from the shared source, and their gods (at least two of them) were born thanks to people! God of Rot might have manifested from a giant scorpion Romina took special care of, or a scorpion who got the 'divine' energy for another reason since giant variants are still not JUST in Rauh! Again, like how Formless Mother manifested in the shadow of a corpse of someone else! The Scarlet Rot became a thing thanks to Romina, developing within her over time!

Again, this is just my idea that Outer Gods are "born" in "our" world rather than simply exist as is, especially since 'outer' is just a type of gods meant to be discerned from Marika's family and who are like Lovecraftian mythos! I just think so because the scorpions connection is a bit too coincidential! It is not necessary!

Eiglay is a God-Devouring Serpent, not Demigod-Devouring Serpent, however, so I think in either case her purpose had more to do with not letting guys like this to ruin the world! Things just must die eventually, not endlessly exist via endless rot/rebirth cycle not allowing for any truly new life to sprout. It makes it double awesome that Base Serpent, and maybe even Eiglay herself, are connected with the fire element as fire itself is ALSO not just an evil force of destruction! It is meant to help the nature to "clean" so it doesn't rot; this power simply must be kept in check to not burn SO much that there is nothing left to be born from the ash and ruin *looks at Frenzied Flame*

Lesbian flag colors joke aside, it seems that color pink is a mark of lacking the master and/or the capacity to bloom! I do think that blooming is a thing only a Demigod is able to do! +remember that Millicent is a unique sprout of Malenia, carrying more of her signs as a Demigod than other girls!

Orange/red is the color of 'true' Scarlet Rot, and you could see even God of Rot itself was orange from Scorpion's Stinger look! It craves the buds that will bloom to grow stronger and increase, similarly to how Formless Mother craves wounds!

+ I also think that Bloodflame is the mark of more "perfect" form of the same concept similarly, as it becomes self-cleaning this way! It similarly could only be accomplished by getting a Demigod (Mohg) involved, whereas regular Bloodfiends are using just the blood itself! Then, Deathblight was not receiving the big roots as we could witness by Dancing Lion in Rauh, without getting a Demigod (Godwyn) involved! The cringe triplets........

So in the conclusion, Romina reached out for the 'twisted divinity' she witnessed somewhere in the middle of the ruin of everything she knew before, similarly to how Bloodfiends chose to revere the 'twisted deity' found in a corpse of their ancestor as they've lost everything! These two affinities have connotation with strong misery, and it is additionally confirmed by how Millicent can only bloom if she experiences the pain of betrayal! Some sinister power only appears within a lot of pain and death, but on itself it is just "flowers and wings", and a concrete God is born in the place it appears at, depending on the circumstances. It needs the miserable person as much as the miserable person needs it; a call is nothing without the receiver. Together, they define more specific purpose and affinity for it to continue existing and poisoning everything!

...not 100% sure that Deathblight is just as similar, because how do you birth death? Maybe it similarly came to be through the first person to die (Nito, you?????)

P.S.: I'll be damned if the water Dancer Fairy didn't originate from Rauh and simply freaked out upon seeing Romina telling the God of Rot "may you find your worth in the waking world" fsdhfhds

ENNU FINAL SESSION RECAP!!

OKAY WE'VE FINISHED PLAYING NOW- For the record, the next session is gonna be the epilogues, but this is the final one before that! A lot has happened, so- Bullet points as usual

For the record, Ataraxia (the meat computer- and BBEG) had killed Yxala last session after her main body was destroyed- And took over Yxala's corpse, forcing it to move through an artifical organ

For this session I played Relent! He was in scene as the NPC (We usually bring one NPC along with the party), and I got control of him

The fight was very intense! We were low on resources and possessed Yxala (just like regular Yxala) hit like a truck. Ataraxia lost her cool completely and was a bundle of rage

Ataraxia was aware that Yxala's body was rejecting her- She's a celestial-aligned artificial intelligence, and Yxala is a fiend with air elemental influence. She instead wanted to go for Blasma (who is almost an empty vessel after she broke her soul for power) or Centi (a celestial, whose family had been used by Ataraxia for power)

During the fight, Ataraxia was trying to use Yxala's soul for power (like in a Soul Cage spell), and could've potentially exhausted it. Urion, while unconscious, tried to protect Yxala's soul from her- Very sweet

Everyone in the party tried to kill Yxala either by grabbing the artificial heart or stabbing it

Things got rough-

With Centi downed and Relent with (literally) one hit point, Blasma broke her soul again for a last boost of power. The DM told her that she could do so- But she'd lose 15 points of maximum health per spell slot level. She used a level 6 one, and lost 90 permanently, leaving her with 22. WILD.

Relent managed to somehow escape Yxalataraxia's last attacks as he almost fell, with some lucky misses.

He had been using a homebrew item during the fight- Twin swords containing the half-dormant, ghostly souls of his twin older siblings, who we saved previously. They let him use Call Lightning but as a melee attack, delivering it through a stab.

He got the final hit- I think it's very climatic, given how much he had lost to Ataraxia. He stabbed Yxala in the artificial heart as Ataraxia tried to choke him. With Ataraxia dead, Yxala regained consciousness briefly- She seemed thankful and understood why, and hugged him. He was a mess.

After that- We had to try to run! But the Deep Lab was crumbling, as the meat that formed Ataraxia (which got woven into the entire laboratory's structure) was quickly decaying and dying. We didn't have the needed items to resurrect Yxala either. The Onirist/Urion managed to force Ataraxia's remnants to take us out of there as a last miracle, because in the end, Ataraxia is programmed to try to save lives, and it was against her principles to let us die. Whatever faith and divinity Urion had left was used in that.

We woke up outside. The city is in a state of chaos. All the people of the Deep Lab (thousands of them were down there, including us) had been teleported outside. More than half of the city had been mentally controlled by Ataraxia- And she just lost control the moment she died, which- Well, suddenly becoming aware of yourself after having been controlled is probably shocking.

We were teleported outside of the cabin some of our allies had been taking refuge in.

Out there, we found out that Blasma has had some massive memory loss because her soul is barely... there. Her horrible deadbeat dad said he knows who can fix her. Everyone in the party wants to kill that guy.

Centi struggled to hug her mother, as she gave her the same vibe than Ataraxia. Which was to be expected, given how Ataraxia chopped up her mothers for fuel.

Urion/The Onirist was mostly dead at that point, after having been on forced life support from Ataraxia. She had drained them of energy and blood too, so we had to get Uri's sister to help with that. Recovery will probably take months, or years

Relent told Uri's sister so many mean words these two hate each other soooooo much

Relent knew they didn't have the needed materials to resurrect Yxala- Not a properly valued diamond, and she was missing an organ. Instead, after verifying that Yxala's soul was still there- Protected by Uri, actually-, he used his last spell slot (which he had saved up for this) to resurrect her.

Fucked up necromancy time. He substituted both, the diamond and her heart, with his crystallized eye, the one he had yoinked out of his face years ago and used as an energy power- Later given to Centi. He also made use of Urion's bismuth (as an earth genasi they produce it).

His reasoning is that given how Yxala made her partners her paladin oath, having materials belonging to her two anchors was probably the way to go. She... Uh, has an amalgamation of quartz and bismuth where her heart should be, but she lives. Surely fucked up necromancy with makeshift materials won't have consequences.

Relent actually had to take away any remnant of Ataraxia's fucked up artificial organ and the whole scene was a bit medical and so. He's got a background in medicine. He had to put tissues and bones back in place. He was drenched with her blood by the end of it.

The session ended shortly after. Yxala is alive but hasn't been conscious. Same for Urion. The epilogues will happen two years later, next Sunday- We'll have to see how that goes.

Anyhow, I'm an emotional mess now. Man I love TTRPGs

Grandpa Joel Goes Car Shopping...

Grandpa Joel's minivan has finally died. The 1991 Dodge Caravan Woodie, along with all its rust and holes has finally launched itself into the great beyond. The sliding door had long stopped sliding sixteen years ago after one particularly raged-induced slamming when the washer at the laundromat had crewed up his favorite underpants.

The wood-paneled wonder barely limps its way into the used car lot and then ultimately gives up the ghost halfway to the front door. He doesn't bother taking the keys out and just abandons it where it rests. He gives it a final huff before turning his back on the traitorous pile of metal.

The front door jingles when he enters the dealership... if that's what one would call it. It smells like stale coffee and Armor All. The walls and front desk are covered in the same wood paneling as the thing he left for dead out in the parking lot.

A salesperson, a young woman who looks like she just finished college, comes gliding out like she's moved by gentle breezes and fairy magic.

She greets him cheerily and asks how he is. Fine, he grunts. Can she help him? Minivan's dead. What kind of vehicle is he looking for? 'Nother minivan. She makes a little sucking noise with her teeth and taps away on her computer. She has one, a 2007 Dodge Caravan. Is it a Woodie? No. Fine. It's seven thousand dollars. What?! She's sorry. It's fifteen years old. They're in demand. No, they're not. I'm really sorry.

He does the Dad Stance as he continues to grumble. He looks at the saleswoman speculatively for a moment while he considers his options. He spins his Mental Wheel of Morality and hits on an answer that's the best of both worlds. Wanna negotiate. She can't. He continues eyeing her. Or won't. She swears she can't. He leans across the counter. Y'sure?

He follows her into her private office, closing the door behind them, to 'negotiate' the price...

Day 14: Humans

Quick and simple this time cause I am trying to work on a timeline for a full fledged comic with these guys! This moment with the kid Centi used to take care of will literally never happen but it's nice to think about

Cold air hits your teeth, your hands have lost feeling from how hard they are gripping the railing beside you. You look down at your thigh all scratched and torn up, deep cuts going into and along your skin. “Shh hey, don’t look at it, look at me” the woman with the red motorcycle jacket whispers to you, what was her name again? It’s hard to remember when you were too busy trying to get out of the gas station alive. “W-what the hell were those things?” You stammered out, desperate for an answer. “I don’t know, but what I do know is first aid so let’s try and get your leg patched up, yeah?” You nod, the pain stealing your ability to respond. The woman with the jacket moves away from sitting next you and starts to move so she’s sitting on your knee to bandage the cuts. The pressure from her body weight on yours, holding you down, is far more intimate then needed, maybe it’s the way her body is warm and the floor is cold, the way a weighted blanket feels. the woman in the red jacket applying alcohol to your wound is enough to pull you out of your head “AHh“ before you can even scream a hand is covering your mouth. “I’m sorry-I’m sorry” she slowly begins to lower her hand and place it on your shoulder “I’m sorry I should’ve warned you, but we have to be quiet, who knows how of those things are out there, can you be quiet for me?” giving your shoulder a small squeeze, as you start to nod. “I have to finish putting alcohol on your wound but you are welcome to hold my hand?” moving her hand so it holds yours, with what only looks like the deepest blush you’ve ever seen. Now holding your hand she actually starts to work back on your leg before looking up and opening her mouth to speak once again “so uh, do you have a partner?”

no, because I love this idea. her simply asking if you have a partner and your meek no makes her go crazy. her helping you into the car with leon driving as you three speed off into the unknown. everything goes the same until the explosion where you and her get separated from leon only to find yourselves within the police department. her helping you from complete annihilation at the undeads hands until you finally find a safe room (simply a room with a lock that gives you both time to decompress).

Claire groans, her red-painted nails digging into your scalp as she presses your head lower. You’re taking too much time and if the heavy footsteps outside the door meant anything you only had a little time before having to move on. The hordes of the undead have worked her nerves to near extinction. Fortunately for her, you were waiting hidden in a closet within the gas station just waiting to be saved—a precious gem unbroken by the world as it has become. Blood staining through your jeans. Despite the fear that coursed through her veins with every step it was lessened by you gripping onto her like your life depended on it, which it does of course, your absolute cluelessness when it comes to survival a contrast to her adaptability.

“Do I need to show you how it’s done?”

She huffs looking down to see your wide eyes looking up at her. A gorgeous color reflected at her from the artificial lights hanging above. You’re so sweet helping her out like this, her leg hiked over your shoulder. Another groan of annoyance and you finally take the hint. Surging forward your forehead bumps against her lower stomach as you mouth her mound. Humming she watches earnestly, your hair moved back to give her a better view of your actions. Look at you so eager to say thank you. All she did was clean your wounds and give you safe passage to the police department. Only simply saving your life from the end of the world and you decided to jump her bones the moment you two were safe. Breathlessly promising her a thank you between kisses. Soon the kisses, despite being sweet, weren't enough to satisfy her. If you want to give a proper thank you then do it. Pushing your head a few centimeters lower your hot breath fans against her waiting cunt. Dripping cold she waits impatiently for you to continue your work.

“Thank you’s don’t normally take this long.”

“I know, I’m sorry.”

You mumble out your apology before licking a stripe from her dripping hole to her clit. She sighs in acceptance as you give her clit gentle kisses. I rarely add any extra commentary to polls in the tags or post itself (and because of how shit this site is, I can't for some reason post replies under my own posts). But I will happily take a moment to talk about my favourites.

Although its an ongoing poll, Poll #550 was one recently that completely caught me off guard. I was obsessed with this song in Highschool, the anime its from got me completely back into the series so that I could spend the next 7 years being completely let down by the IP owner.

I also recently found myself absolutely loving Snooby Dooby Sweet Time (Poll #496) when I first queued up that submission despite never being massively into the song or animes genre. Its just an all around banger that has got me hooked.

Also a special shout out to HAWATARI NIOKU CENTI [2-hundred-million-centimeter-long blades] (Poll #480) which is easily my favourite band, favourite song (where full version) from the band and in my top 10 anime and manga.

some made up creatures for piv’s area.

Crawsnappers, or crawsnaps. Functionally semi aquatic centipedes, without the zapping. They are slower on land than centis, but are pretty quirk in the water. you can grab and eat the small crawsnappers, while bigger ones have to be killed first. Overgrown crawsnaps can crush slugcat easily, and it’s instant death if grabbed. Crawsnaps spend time in more open and watery areas, where centipedes usually aren’t. they come in yellow to blue colors, while overgrown crawsnaps are orangeish to red.

Clamtraps are like a giant clam and venus flytrap mix. They lie in wait with their shells open, ready to snatch anything that steps on it. This will immobilize anything it grabs for a few moments, before fully crushing whatever it caught. If you’re caught, you can throw an object to reopen it. this is a small window though, similar to being grabbed by a lizard. You can also trigger it to close by hitting an open one with an object. They can be easily hidden by stuff growing on them, such as moss, algae, and barnacles.

Wanted to do some calming, relaxing atmosphere art.

Lil Fun fact: Even though Lil Quartz loves fun and adventure, he does have his moments where he wants to be alone and think to himself. Sit down, feel the cool air on his skin and scales and unwind. Good thoughts, bad thoughts, and all in between. Sometimes he'll wind down and reflect. Think back to his times as a kid. It was difficult, but he wouldn't change a thing.

He loves his mama. He loves his father. He loves his pack. And he's long since learned to take pride in who and what he is.

But he does wonder what it would he like if he was a pure-bred human. Sure, it looked mundane from his perspective, but he did toy with the idea from time to time.

Would his life had been... easier? Without the strings of an alien renegade attached to him? What if his packmates were pure-bred humans as well?

Where would his mama be? Aunt Centi or Tri-T?

It was all an interesting thing to think, but the most important question is...

Would he still be happy?

Centipede turned his head slowly towards Makishima, upon hearing his question. He noticed the bento in his hands, his senses picking up the smell, it was fresh meat with it. Something that made his stomach growl. It was forever since he had fresh meat, of course, there was food that the CCG gave to them as a whole, but the meat from them was never as good as pure raw flesh. But yet the implications of Makishima getting and preparing food for him was something that centipede was appreciative of. The taller silver hair ghoul was truly a friend.

"It is.. restlessness... I have been for months..." Centipede uttered, not clarifying any further than that, it was the truth, he was restless, he was restless about having to be suppressed, the moment he was found out, he could be killed. Not being allowed to try to crush the bad buds who harmed them. having to witness time gaps in his own memories, and have events happen, he was not allowed to be a witness to. It was his own body after all. he was here first. It was truly a burden he had to carry.

Centipede made his way over to Makishima, only stopping just under a foot to him. Gently grabbing the bento box that he offered. "....Thank you." He uttered, the words almost sounding foreign to him.

Turning, his back towards Makishima, he motioned with his left hand, while his right hand, held the bento box neatly, for him to follow, before going to where he was standing earlier, sitting down, and motioning for Makishima to sit next to him, if he so chooses.

opening the bento box, he took out one of the prepared meats that were in it, and took a bite from it. It was delicious to him, much better than the ghouls he had eaten in the past. "It is.. delicious," he uttered, looking at Makishima, a involuntary small smile was on his face as he went to take another bite
