ALSO totally forgot to say this yesterday but me and my family also visited the cemetery to visit our lolo and lola and (as usual) always had a flower ready for them :]] i noticed other families were visiting their graves early and methinks theyre gonna have an overnight picnic there since that was super common during araw ng kaluluwa (all souls' day/day of the souls)

we're gonna go visit our grandma tomorrow, it'll be real chill :]

father's day is a weird day when your dad's not alive anymore
#spent the day having a picnic with my sister and finally picking out jewelry to have made from his ashes#then got lost in the massachusetts national cemetery bc va.gov mislabeled their map#but it's like so surreal going and getting lunch and everyone's there with their dad#and then there's just my sister and i waiting on our own#i hadn't really processed this until my girlfriend brought it up at dinner (her dad has also passed)#it's been almost two years and sometimes stuff like this just hits me really hard#like oh. i don't ever get to spend father's day with my own dad again#the closest i get is a vault behind a plaque with his name and ranks on it#today was also his birthday so there's that too#still just doesn't quite feel real sometimes
