What happens if the concrete is not cured properly?
Curing of concrete is a critical process that takes place after the concrete is poured. It plays a vital role in ensuring the finished product's strength, durability, and longevity. Cement production is the first step in creating concrete, but proper curing ensures that the final product meets performance standards. Unfortunately, many people underestimate the importance of proper curing, and as a result, they may end up with concrete that fails to meet their expectations.
So, what happens if the concrete is not cured properly? The answer to that question depends on several factors, including the type of concrete, the environmental conditions during the curing process, and the desired performance standards for the finished product.
Here are some potential consequences of inadequate curing:
Reduced strength:
The curing process is essential for concrete to reach its full strength potential. If the concrete is not cured properly, it may not achieve its full compressive strength. This can lead to cracking, spalling, and other forms of damage.
Poor durability:
Proper curing is also critical to concrete's long-term durability. If the concrete is not adequately cured, it may be more susceptible to damage from freeze-thaw cycles, chemical attacks, and other forms of deterioration.
Cracking:
Concrete that is not cured properly may crack, either during the curing process or later in its service life. These cracks can compromise the concrete's structural integrity and may require costly repairs or replacement.
Surface defects:
Improper curing can also lead to surface defects such as scaling, crazing, and discolouration. These defects can detract from the finished product's aesthetic appeal.
Reduced lifespan:
In extreme cases, inadequate curing can lead to premature concrete failure, which can be a safety hazard and can also result in costly repairs or replacement.
To avoid these potential consequences, it is essential to follow proper curing procedures. This includes maintaining the appropriate temperature and humidity levels during the curing process. It also includes using curing compounds or coverings to prevent moisture loss and allowing the concrete to cure for the appropriate amount of time. By taking these steps, you can ensure that your concrete meets the desired performance standards and will provide reliable service for many years to come.

It is not classist that Jason, a vigilante in a *family of vigilantes*, is violent like the rest | just | because he comes from a poor family
What's (more likely) classist is writers thinking he needs to be taught right vs wrong from Bruce and co and that he consequently makes snap judgments out of some childish grudge-fueled rebellion which makes him dangerous the way a toddler holding a knife is dangerous
#that dumb godzilla vs kong beast wrld issue is a prime example of what I'm talking abt#but I can't even say that's | classism | per se#cause it's also just a product of writers not liking him solely for being in opposition to their bbyg bruce#kelseethe#when will people get it in their heads that shooting someone isn’t “more" violent#than cracking their skulls on cement or ripping their bodies to shreds “but keeping them alive”#things the other bats do pretty regularly and with quite a bit of pride too#it will never not be weird that people see Jason remorselessly poisoning a child trafficker who did it for EXTRA cash#or shooting+killing a dude who was deliberately poisoning his young kid and wife with a drug similar to street fentanyl#and think he should have his edges rounded out#people who say Jason can afford to be “less violent”#are accidentally “Jason should kill less sob sob urban legends is good” schmucks#which is kinda more pathetic than being his anti like at least they *know* what they're saying#even if he was more rageful like in rh gotham war instead of cold/detached like in utrh I'd have that any day#over cheer Jason's “sob sob bad people dying still has consequences I don't really know how to cope with so rubber bullets see” nonsense#ever since his appearance in batman 408. everything Jason has done#he did knowing exactly why he was doing it and what the consequence(s) would be#he believes the extent of “harm” a person causes is always their choice#and he doesn't do more for the sake of revelling in the pain he causes the way bruce does#but whatever he does do he never tries to sugarcoat or downplay which makes it all the more agreeable#and he certainly doesn’t convince himself he does it out of love or compassion or some other mushy horeseshit#like sorry you're of feeble mind but I'm not a wuss and I think it's very logical and cool lol

I feel like Little Shop of Horrors borrows a lot from Black Culture but I can't find any good essays on it
(In my mind it's mainly the black girl trio and the fact that Audrey II sings in a style typically associated with black people)
Though I'm non-black so I feel like this isn't really my place to talk.
#I would love to see a production with an entirely black cast though. (Except for a few characters like the contract ones and the dentist)#because i feel like the story would hit so much harder if Seymour and Aurdey were black. Like. there's really a class thing going on#so. theres that.#https://patabook.com/news/2024/02/27/dreamgirls-and-little-shop-of-horrors-helped-to-cement-the-legacy-of-black-girl-group-of-the-60s/#https://brandeishoot.com/2015/12/04/little-shop-of-horrors-fails-to-reflect-traditional-black-roles/#essays i found.

dry heaving as i say this but im pretty sure eamon and wynne looking like that in their 40s isnt the devs being idiots but instead certain bits of character lore (that is not in anyway integral to the plot) being cemented after the character models were made. i dont think its a very complicated reason i just don't think anybody cared about arl fucking eamons age when they were doing the bulk of production for origins and it was only when the stolen throne was written that it became an issue
#text#should they have cemented this lore pre-production. i mean maybe.#and they definitely made dumber mistakes than this (see alistair's mom stuff in origins)#but i honestly dont really get the shock over how they made eamon look like that

I went on a study abroad with the business school, not because I was in any way studying business, but bc I wanted to travel Europe. We ended up going to eight different countries in Europe, but the rule was that if we went to a country we had to have a business visit.
Our second stop, in Switzerland, we had the opportunity to go to Schindler (the elevator company) and they basically gave us their investor pitch. I had fun, bc I was pretending to be someone cosplaying as a business man (I wore a blazer, I halfheartedly took notes, they gave us sparking water, it was fun). But, as we were going through the demonstration, our presenter enthusiastically told us about the future of elevators: a world where you didn’t have to touch a single door.
The idea behind this was not only were they doing elevators, and not only were they doing an app to allow you to access certain floors and access the elevator at all, but eventually they would make doors that you could open and unlock via your phone. (Also they did robots that would deliver food). This presenter was so excited, telling us that you could walk out your door, bike to work, and get on the elevator without touching a door, and do it all from the app.
I had only been with the business students for about a week, so I figured maybe I was missing something, so I raised my hand and asked what would happen if someone’s phone died (my phone currently was and still is almost always hooked up to a portable charger bc it no longer holds a charge for longer than two hours). This felt, in my mind, like a reasonable question that probably had a simple answer.
The way this man sputtered?? Looking absolutely scandalized. He floundered before a bit. Wanna know what his answer ended up being? “You’ve got much bigger problems if your phone dies.” ??? Girl hello???? No I don’t! If I can’t get into my house bc my phone died, that’s my biggest problem. He was like “your wallet is on your phone, and directions” as if I don’t carry around a purse with a PHYSICAL WALLET and know where I live? Finally he settled on “and you can have a key fob” which, ok thank you. Start with that??
Phones aren’t reliable. Yes you can lose a key, but phones in addition to getting lost also are easily stolen, and again they DIE. You can’t plan for everything—you don’t know if your day will go longer than you thought, and you didn’t have access to a charger, and your also an alchoholic according to Sherlock and didn’t manage to plug your phone in properly. My problem isn’t that it’s annoying to open and close and lock my home door. Why don’t you fix public transportation first and then maybe we’ll talk.
theres bikes around the city you can rent but you have to use an app that needs your drivers license. theres buses that drive right to your destination, but if you dont have change you need the app. you can wash your car here if you sign into the app. you can go to the bathroom here you just have to unlock it with the app that needs your location on. you can order at this restaurant if you scan the code and download the app. im losing my freaking mind
#anyways I knew business was kinda stupid. but hot diggity dog did that cement it#when we left all my classmates thought my comment was iconic so. hopefully they don’t all go out and design dumb products that require an ap

the urge to sort and categorize and make a neat little list is so soothing
but watch out
when applied to human beings and other forms of life, and especially when driven by fear, it becomes a high speed rail path to dehumanization!!
#been thinking a lot recently about the pop psychology pathologization industry#like as an anti abuse advocate it fucking grinds my gears because everyone starts fixing on the labels rather than the underlying actions#and people will be like oh i could never harm someone!! im a good person!! and then turn around and dehumanize and rip into people#watched a good video today that has me firmly cemented in my choice to retire trying to talk about a very specific kind of abuse with a ver#specific label#because now there's right wing christian cottage industries weaponizing that as part of wider authoritarian and fascist conditioning pushes#always better to talk about the actions themselves and the power structures that entrench them than look for a button which decrees#that everything someone does is inherently evil#like is that reassuring for people who have been hurt? yes. is it productive? no#and can often result in further harm being done#there's a lot of nuance in navigating situations where someone HAS done harm especially over the long term and the suffering inflicted is#very potent but where malice was not necessarily involved and it is really hard#and even in situations where malice IS involved people especially in groups will be eager to then reach for punitive and carceral responses#and it's so hard to thread the needle as both an advocate and serial abuse survivor and i can see why people prefer the binary approach#but we gotta do better

Cement products and their potential to contribute to carbon capture and storage initiatives
Cement product is one of the most crucial components of the construction industry, used in a wide variety of building and infrastructure projects. However, it is the harsh reality that the cement industry is also one of the significant contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. According to the report of the International Energy Agency, concrete manufacturing is responsible for 8% of global carbon emissions. In the meeting of COP 26 2021, India promised to cut its emissions to net zero by 2070. As a result, cement industries now have come up with a question “What is the role of a cement company in promoting green environment initiatives?” Therefore, there is a growing interest among cement manufacturers in exploring the potential of cement products to contribute to carbon capture and storage (CCS) initiatives.
Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is something where a stream of carbon dioxide from industrial sources is isolated, treated, and then moved to a place for long-term storage. To make this possible, sufficient financial expenses, resources, and technology must be made available from developed countries. Carbon capture and storage involves capturing carbon dioxide emissions from industrial processes, such as steel and cement production, or from the burning of fossil fuels in power generation and storing them in underground geological formations or other long-term storage options.
There are several ways in which the cement industry contributes to carbon capture and storage initiative. The cement industry is a significant source of CO2 emissions due to the chemical process involved in cement production. During cement production, limestone is heated to very high temperatures, which releases CO2 as a byproduct. This process, known as calcination, accounts for around 60% of the total emissions associated with cement production. Since the cement industry itself is a source of carbon dioxide emission, it directly captures CO2 from the cement manufacturing process. This is done using a technology known as carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). CCUS involves capturing CO2 emissions from industrial processes, purifying the CO2, and then transporting it to a storage site where it can be stored permanently.
Another approach to using cement products in CCS initiatives is to use the cement itself as a storage medium for CO2. This can be done by adding CO2-absorbing materials to the cement during production. These materials, such as fly ash or slag, react with CO2 to form stable compounds that are trapped within the cement matrix.
In this area, the research is still in the initial stages. India has targeted a reduction of 45% in emission intensity by 2030. It indicates that CCUS can provide a range of opportunities to convert the captured CO2 to different value-added products like green urea, food, beverage, building materials like cement and concrete, chemicals like methanol and ethanol, polymers and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) with wide market opportunities in India, thus contributing substantially to a circular economy. CCUS will also add 100 billion to 150 billion dollars to the Indian GDP over the next 30 years, thus expected to generate 8–10 million job opportunities in India.
Several cement companies like Wonder Cement, Ambuja Cement, Ultratech Cement, Dalmia Cement, Shree Cement, etc are already looking to explore CCUS. Suman Bery, the Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog said that CCUS can enable the production of clean products while still utilizing our rich endowments of coal, reducing imports and thus leading to an Atma Nirbhar Indian economy.
While there is still much research to be done in this area, the potential of cement products to contribute to CCS initiatives is clear. By capturing and storing CO2 emissions, using CO2-absorbing materials in cement production, and developing new technologies such as carbonated concrete and algae-based cement, the cement industry could play a significant role.

What is Composite Cement? Understanding its Composition and Benefits
Composite cement is gradually gaining acceptance among construction industries due to its improved properties and the environmental advantages it poses. This type of cement is made from blending different raw materials to enhance the performance and durability of the cement and hence, it is suitable for use in different construction projects.
Due to modern technological development and increasing focus on environmentally sustainable construction, it is crucial to know about composite cement and its benefits. This article describes what compound cement is, what it is made of, and why it should be used in cement construction.
What is Composite Cement?
Composite cement is a versatile and sustainable cement mix containing one or more materials added to enhance its properties. Unlike ordinary Portland cement which is constituted of clinker and gypsum, composite cement comprises supplementary cementitious materials like fly ash, slag, and limestone.
These additives not only improve the compressive strength of concrete but also help in reducing the total carbon footprint during the production process. In composite cement, the cement mix used is chosen to have the right characteristics for construction cement in specific conditions.
Manufacturers can regulate the quantities of these supplementary materials whereby the cement is made to achieve specific characteristics like enhanced durability, chemical resistance, and workability in certain weather conditions. Due to this versatility, composite cement is widely used in many construction cement applications.
Understanding its Composition and Benefits
Composite cement is a combination of several materials, each of which has a specific role to play when the cement is in use. Here are the primary materials used in composite cement:
Clinker: The main component that is required to achieve the binding effect.
Gypsum: Prevents the set time to control and eliminate the flash setting.
Fly Ash: One of the major pollutants produced from the burning of coal, increases the density of concrete and its workability.
Slag: A waste product of steel-making, enhances the properties of resistance to aggressive environments.
Limestone: Helps in increasing the early strength and also can be used in the construction of sustainable buildings.
Pozzolans: Any organisms or man-made substances that enhance the overall life strength and endurance.
Benefits
Selecting the appropriate type of cement has advantages like; durability, elegance, and ecology.
● Enhanced Durability
The use of composite cement also results in better durability when compared to ordinary Portland cement. The incorporation of materials for instance fly ash and slag improves the concrete structures from chemical attacks besides minimizing its permeability and thus improving the performance of the concrete.
● Improved Workability
Composite cement has better workability because of the presence of finer particles in it which can be easily mixed and applied. It is most advantageous to apply this property in large construction projects since the accuracy of application is vital in such circumstances.
● Environmental Sustainability
Compared to normal cement, composite cement has low raw material requirements and lower emissions of carbon dioxide during its production as it includes byproducts from industries like fly ash and slag. This makes it a better choice for building construction than traditional methods that negatively impact the environment.
● Cost-Effectiveness
The incorporation of supplementary materials usually leads to the reduction of the cost of production of cement making composite cement economical compared to ordinary cement. These economic composite cement uses can be of great impact in cases of large construction projects.
● Enhanced Strength
Compared to the normal cement, the composite cement has relatively higher early and later age of compressive strength. It is most useful in instances where high-strength concrete is needed especially in generating structures and infrastructures.
Conclusion
Composite cement is a unique product that has the potential to change the construction industry with the ability to balance performance and green principles. The properties include durability, improved workability, environmental-friendly, cost efficiency, and enhanced strength from the raw materials used in the composition of cement such as clinker, gypsum, fly ash, slag, and limestone.

Understanding CE Marking: Navigating Cement Product Compliance in the European Economic Area (EEA)
Exploring the intricacies of product compliance in the European Economic Area (EEA) can be overwhelming for makers and exporters around the world. Understanding and sticking to CE Marking requirements ensures smooth market passage.
The CE Marking, a short form for "Conformité Européenne" or "European Conformity," is a regulatory mark and a vital identification for items to circle openly inside the EEA. This mark shows that the product meets the EU's stringent safety, health, and environmental protection standards.
In this page, we will dig deeply into CE Marking Certification in UAE, exploring their importance, the most common way of acquiring them, and the kinds of products like cement and more they cover. Whether you are a carefully trained exporter or a producer hoping to venture into European business sectors, mastering the subtleties of CE Marking is fundamental.
By ensuring compliance, you shield the interests of your business as well as support the trust and certainty of your European customers.
What Is CE Marking?
CE Markings is a crucial indicator that a product consents to the European Union’s stringent health, safety, and environ protective prerequisites. This item marking is required for those wishing to enter the EEA market. It isn't simply a quality mark, but a statement by the producer that the product meets every legitimate requirement of the EU directive relevant to explicit items.
Reason for CE Marking:
Legitimate Compliance: CE Markings connote that the item sticks to the EU regulation, especially the harmonized standards that connect with fundamental necessities like security, environ effect, and customer assurance.
Market Access: Collaborating the CE mark permits the free construction and offer of the products across the 30 nations of the EEA. This marking permits the section of many item types into European business sectors.
Consistency in Standards: It guarantees that similar standards for the market section are applied across all EU member states, working with simpler admittance to an immense market and improving product reliability.
