I thought NK cell was a loner but it's actually nice to see her hanging out with the other female characters, even participating to a tea party!

My first posted fanfiction is from the Cells at Work Fandom.
I've been pretty passive in the fandom for a long time but after reading my favorite cells at work fanfiction once again and seeing the fandom not being as active as I remember it used to be I've decided to throw my beginner writing skills and nerdy cells *self (haha funny typo, no pun intended) into the ring and write fanfiction (mostly wholesome fluff and romance) about white and red blood cells from the circulatory system...and I can't wait :D I'll also take asks for Cells at Work fanfics if you all would like? I'm pretty new to this but I'm sure it will be really fun!
Tumblr media
My first fanfiction is actually about band cell and an original character. It was inspired from "cells at work-hearts and minds". If you haven't read that yet I highly recommend it :D .
I'll put the link below for anyone who would like to check it out :)
Summary:
After finally having the stress of her graduation behind her ML-1315 couldn't get enough of the sights. After being saved by a pathogen attack by a white blood cell boy. The white blood cells she had only heard passing gossip about back in the bone marrow, she wonders if someone with such a kind smile could really be the 'bloodthirsty killer' they had talked about back at the bone marrow. or Two adorkable cells new to their jobs and the body become fast friends and perhaps...maybe more.

I just got into the CaW fandom after binging the entire first series in 24 hours. Have any advice/references for a fledgling fan such as myself? Also, does it matter the order that I read the other manga?
P.S. Your art's noice. I'm gonna eat it like potato chip.
Hiiii welcome to the fandom
I suggest watching CaW: Code Black anime first, unless you hate angst or dying and crying. It's a banger. It's basically a total opposite of the original, sad, grimey, horrifying, did I mention sad? If you're into that then go for it! I love code black myself.
If you prefer reading manga, I'd say go for whatever you find intriguing (keep in mind, most spinoffs take place in a different body with different characters). If you want the same educational yet fun vibe of the original series (I refer to as Main) then you can try CaW Baby or CaW Lady. If you prefer slice of life then we have CNaW and CaW Friends. If you miss the main series characters, try out White Brigade and Platelets at Work, as they feature the original characters from the original. There's also Bacteria at Work, for a fun twist of the original concept.
The order does NOT matter, each spinoff is essentially contained within itself, and doesn't blend over to the other series' outside of small references, so do whatever you want. Hate a series? Stop reading! Love a series? Squeeze until it's dry.
Thank u for enjoying my art, I love those cells

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Don't know what to read/start with? Recommendations and trigger warnings under the cut!
Cells at Work (The original manga): A nice series that teaches you the basics of cells, mostly immune cells but they do include some gut immunity in the 2nd season, filled with a nice balance of angst and fluff, includes a prominent ship although it isn't the main point of the series and they don't actually say out loud if they like each other romantically or anything.
TWs: Includes a lot of blood, slicing of knives/violence in general, cancer (anthropomorphized, but they do say the word a lot of course), violently biting things until they gush out blood/whatever they're made from
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cells at Work: Code Black: An angsty series, a lot of sadness in general, although it looks like a gender swap of the original, the contents are also very opposite to the original. This series takes place in a different host body. Not fluffy, bad work environments, cells suffering in general. If you love seeing little fictional people suffering or want a reason to take better care of your body, this is the series for you!
TWs: Blood, violence, actual bazookas/guns, nsfw topics like unsafe sex and others, major and minor character deaths, drug mention both beneficial and unbeneficial, attempted suicide, ACTUAL suicide, depression, cancer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Platelets at Work: A very nice and fluffy series about the children of Cells at Work, takes place in the body of the original CaW manga, features the platelet team we all love and their master Megakaryocyte. It's a very nice slice of life series that talks about the platelets doing their best and being children, very cute 10/10.
TWs: Tbh, I'm not sure, maybe i can reread it and see, but i don't think there's anything worth a warning.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cells at Work and Friends: My personal favorite, features a Killer T cell with social anxiety as it's protagonist. A great slice of life that doesn't have much about education of biology. A lot of misunderstandings, a lot of funny and relatable moments, I'm sure all of us can relate to at least 1 of the chapters.
TWs: Blood, slicing and dicing and violence, eating and dead bacteria/viruses that would usually be very gorey are censored, depression and suicide mention (from one specific character, you can avoid him if you like and still enjoy the series), sewing needles on specific chapters, mention of nsfw
Reply if you'd want me to reference which chapters have the trigger so you can avoid it while still enjoying most of it
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cells at Work Baby: Much like the original, featuring 2 red blood cells as the main character instead of a white blood cell, just as educational as the original and all the characters are in a cute chibi style.
TWs: Blood, slicing, a little violence but it isn't as bad as the original, character death
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bacteria At Work: I have yet to read this fully, but i have read the first chapter, full of pretty men and talks about gut bacteria and dietary stuff.
TWs: Unknown (to me)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cells NOT At Work: More of a slice of life compared to the original, it is quite educational on the development of red blood cells. Real LGBT rep, a wide range of characters and dynamics, made me very emotional, though i haven't read the last volume.
TWs: Mention of death/character death, and maybe slicing and killing in the last volume
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cells At Work Lady: Because this manga has yet to be translated officially, i have yet to read it, but it talks about the anatomy of women, from periods to pregnancy, there is quite a lot. They also include pretty men!
TWs: NSFW mention, slicing and dicing of various things, potentially more that i am unaware of.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cells At Work Illegal: Lastest CaW manga spinoff to be released as of writing, the name speaks for itself. Usage of drugs, smoking, drinking, and potentially many more. It is untranslated, so I cannot truly understand what it is about, but thats the gist of it. Also the main characters might be potentially a little gay
TWs: Drug usage, a lot of slicing and dicing and blood, NSFW (not just mention I'm pretty sure)
CNN's Van Jones Explains Why the Obama Coalition Is Collapsing Right Now
Tumblr media
He might have shot his mouth off during the Obama administration, which cost him his job, but Van Jones
Tumblr media
does have his moments of clarity. He’s another unabashed liberal who can give reasonable analyses on the political landscape much better than any clown at MSNBC. Again, I know that’s not challenging, but Jones has said the Russian collusion story was a nothing burger. What isn’t a ‘nothing burger’ is the Obama coalition collapsing before our eyes, much like Joe Biden’s mental health.
At the Milken Institute’s Global Conference, Jones gave a damning assessment of the health of this coalition that was, by all intents and purposes, unbeatable at the time. Yet, as Republicans and Democrats have learned under the Bush and Obama presidencies, there is no permanent political majority. Liberals may scoff, and Jones admits he gets beaten up over it, but the evidence is clear that the core voter groups that overwhelmingly back Democrats aren’t going to be as strong this year.
It’s all about the margins.
Jones admits that the vast majority of black people are going to vote for Biden, but that’s not the point: there is a segment that is “hurtin’ and uncertain” about their place in the party. The white working class has defected en masse—that’s over. Now, black and Latino working-class voters are following. Jones isn’t the only one to make this point. James Carville has already conceded that Democrats are going to lose Hispanic men this year. And both men pointed to the same reason: they’re tired of the woke lectures.
 “They're just tired of being lectured, tired of being wrong, tired of being criticized, tired of being called toxic; tired of, frankly, a lot of other groups getting more out of the Biden administration than black folks got,” added Jones.
Biden’s support among blacks under 50 has been more than halved, falling from an 80-point advantage in 2020 to just 37. Trump is on pace for a historic performance among black voters. If it holds, this election is over.
And it goes beyond black and Latino voters; Biden does not enthuse young people. One pollster noted how, in less than a generation, the ‘yes we can’ brigades have de-mobilized to levels where Democrats should be nervous. Labor union support is fractured. The front office of the United Auto Workers’ union might be pro-Biden, but even its president conceded that a majority of UAW members won’t be voting for Biden in 2024. Sean O’Brien, president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, will speak at the Republican Convention this summer. You can’t look at that other than it’s a soft endorsement of Trump.
Jones has been a canary in the coal mine of sorts for Democrats in the past. In 2016, he warned that his party was grossly overlooking their footing along the so-called blue wall. He was right; Trump shattered that Democratic stronghold in his upset win over Hillary.
The cracks in the Democratic Party base are evident, and a visible, vibrant, and pugnacious Democrat with elite political skills, like Obama, is a candidate who could resolve many of these issues. That’s not the case: Democrats have Biden, who is a brain cell shy of being a drooling vegetable and who cannot be in public as often due to his repeated mental collapses. Once the sun goes down, forget it. Biden is also a beer league-style politician in a world of heavyweights. Even Democrats agree that Biden didn’t win the 2020 election; Trump just lost it—a tacit acknowledgment that COVID is what got Biden over the top. It wasn’t precisely his skills as a politician.
who's your favorite character in CAW?
hmmm a bit hard to say but I will be pretty standard and say rbc and u1146 :] their bond is really sweet and I love how despite the anime makes it seem like it'll be another forced ship pairing based on the farewell scene in the 1st episode, their relationship really does get sweet and sincere and I just love looking for more content of the two interacting ❤
away from them I wanna say macrophage is a big fav because I love how murderous yet kind and motherly she can be. I absolutely Love that trope in media and I wish there was more screen time of her! lore even!
REVIEW | "Cells at Work! White Brigade" - Vol. 1 | B3 - Boston Bastard Brigade
Tumblr media
The human body is a vast network of blood, bones, organs, and microscopic entities living inside. Cells at Work!showcased how everything works together to keep bodies healthy, as well as what goes on to heal people from scrapes, bruises, and even diseases. As the body is filled with many different kinds of cells, the idea of doing spinoffs seems like a sure thing. As such, the white cells get a chance to shine on their own with their own series Cells at Work! White Brigade.
White Brigade places its focus on Band Cell, a new trainee to the White Cell sector. He learns the ropes from the veterans, as he trains to take down bacteria and aid other cells with their tasks. As Band Cell takes in his training, he learns that even the toughest of cells out there started as a weakling like him. This fact is what keeps pushing Band Cell to be a better soldier in the war against disease and other things that hinder the human body.
Tumblr media
On the surface a spinoff focused on the white blood cells sounds good. As they are tasked to fight off against every form of oddity in the body, one thinks that it’ll result in stories that focus on multiple forms of illnesses and human health follies. However, even when reading the first volume, it’s clear to see that Cells at Work! White Brigade has its work cut out for them. Worse, it already feels like writer/artist Tetsuji Kanie is running out of ideas.
