Favorite manga art style? Personally I really like the fp/m and the tdd art styles :3
My opinion is a little bit biased because I spend a lot of time bitching with the cleaners, but I like all of them for different reasons.
The TDD mangaka’s (Rui Karasuduki) screentone usage makes me want to take up day drinking, but her art is consistently one of my favorites. Her art feels very “definite”, and her backgrounds are usually nicely detailed. I like the way she draws characters, too! She can go back and forth from very serious figures to cute, chibi-style artwork depending on the mood of the panel almost effortlessly.
I like the BB/MTC mangaka’s (Tetsuji Kanie) artwork at certain points but not others. You can tell when he (?) is drawing something he enjoys, especially birds. He also pulls off some pretty awesome effects from time to time. I loathe his SFX, though, because they can be utter bastards to remove. He’s not super popular because his anatomy and facial expressions are a bit wonky, so I feel bad for him and want to support him, haha.
The FP/M mangaka (Kiiko Jyo) is great too! She’s right up there with Karasuduki-sensei for me. Her artwork is always extremely detailed (which can be a pain in the ass for us) and super emotive. Unlike TDD, FP/M feels a lot more “wispy”. There’s a great sense of movement in almost everything she draws. You can tell from the way she draws and the way she writes that she puts an enormous amount of thought into her work, especially in regards to her paneling. I love that.
The DH/BAT mangaka (Kikou Aiba) has much more of a cartoony style, which really seems to fit Dotsuitarehonpo especially. Her manga feels so much different from the other ones, which isn’t particularly a good or a bad thing. I believe the mangakas write at least some of their own dialogue and raps, because her narration style feels very different to me than the other manga. It feels kind of like what you’d hear in a movie, so I try to approach it with that style too. Hmm, that’s not what you were really asking about, though... I really like her use of shadows. It works well with the greyscale.

REVIEW | "Cells at Work! White Brigade" - Vol. 1 | B3 - Boston Bastard Brigade
Tumblr media
The human body is a vast network of blood, bones, organs, and microscopic entities living inside. Cells at Work!showcased how everything works together to keep bodies healthy, as well as what goes on to heal people from scrapes, bruises, and even diseases. As the body is filled with many different kinds of cells, the idea of doing spinoffs seems like a sure thing. As such, the white cells get a chance to shine on their own with their own series Cells at Work! White Brigade.
White Brigade places its focus on Band Cell, a new trainee to the White Cell sector. He learns the ropes from the veterans, as he trains to take down bacteria and aid other cells with their tasks. As Band Cell takes in his training, he learns that even the toughest of cells out there started as a weakling like him. This fact is what keeps pushing Band Cell to be a better soldier in the war against disease and other things that hinder the human body.
Tumblr media
On the surface a spinoff focused on the white blood cells sounds good. As they are tasked to fight off against every form of oddity in the body, one thinks that it’ll result in stories that focus on multiple forms of illnesses and human health follies. However, even when reading the first volume, it’s clear to see that Cells at Work! White Brigade has its work cut out for them. Worse, it already feels like writer/artist Tetsuji Kanie is running out of ideas.

Welcome to the Division Iceberg 2 Explanation: Electric Boogaloo
For the truly uninitiated, you need to know basic Discord terminology and also Hypnosis Mic information. You may also require information from the previous iceberg.
Anything with an asterisk on the end is self-explanatory. All notes are correct as of writing this post and as per Aria's observations (or explanations to them). External links will be shared, but in the interests of people joining the server, no actual content from the server will be shared here (the iceberg was Aria's doing, which is why it is possible to reproduce it above).
Tier 1:
Wishing server members a happy birthday*
Bot failure: Bots don’t really like the admins - Groovy was confirmed to be dead in mid-October and Birthday Bot has a habit of dying, leaving admins to manually bestow birthday users with the role (as of the time of writing, a new birthday bot has just been introduced). Also, prior to the first iceberg, Doppo’s Boss (another bot) spat out every tweet it was getting, so when a bot the official Hypnosis Mic Twitter used started spitting tweets extremely frequently, the admins had to stop it and grab tweets manually.
Sam’s extended soap opera: Sam has gotten flak for moving on from DMas and yet still acting as if she’s not over him. At least one of her new candidates was Frost.
Tier 2:
Boobas/badonkers: The chest area, glimpses of which cause simpage. The BB & MTC artist, Tetsuji Kanie, drew Ichiro with notably big boobas, leading to Sophia calling herself “Ichiro boobas” and chaos ensuing when Discord told people “Ichiro’s boobas is typing...” (sic). There is also an emoji of Rei with enlarged boobas, known as :ReiBadonkers:.
Vibe check: 1) A “test” to see who “has the vibes”. (i.e. Recite some lyrics and see who responds incorrectly, e.g. Q: “What’s my name?!”/A: “Riou!”.) 2) An emoji for when someone “doesn’t have the vibes”. In the server, it most commonly manifests as :SamatokiVibeCheck:.
Character jigsaws: When members of the server collaborate to “become parts of a HypMic characters whose birthday it is” by having different parts of the same image of a character (not necessarily an “organic” part of the character, e.g. TP becoming Dice’s toes, Aria becoming Dice’s sunglasses) and having related nicknames to these profile pictures. Also known with the prefix “Franken-”, e.g. “FrankenDice”.
Hifu’s typoes*: Includes various misspellings of members’ names, most egregiously never getting the number 14 right when greeting them and calling an Arabian sand boa "Jim" (typo of "him").
RIP lyrics: A similar exchange to that of the vibe check, although not specifically for checking vibes. In order, the complete exchange goes: “RIP/Nirvana!/Yuu-jin-rai-shin-you-getsu-sei-shou-bu!/Yeah, and you don’t stop!”
Frost is the only admin online*: Post-pushing the admins to the top of the member list, this happened due to the fact the other admins are either 1) invisible and/or 2) actually busy with something. (Note Frost is not always readily available, but is generally the only one visible.)
The yo GIF: A GIF of Gentaro and Dice from the advertisement for Once Upon a Time in Shibuya. Originally a response done by Aria only, but has now spread to other members.
Tier 3:
Aria’s drooping: When depressed, Aria uses “droops” to indicate severity of mood (“droops slightly”, “droops into floor” etc.). Inspired by Riou’s depressed face in Rhyme Anima. Immortalised in a drawing by 14.
uwu/owo: Cute faces (less commonly “awa”). One of DMas’s known weaknesses. Also occur as emojis, albeit not from the server..
DMas’s Minesweeper addiction*
Dark’s pick-up lines: Indiscriminate pick-up lines, their target decided by randomiser (with some repeat targets). Stopped after Dark failed to keep them up.
Can of whoop-ass: Sending a long message is known to Aria as “unleashing a can of whoop-ass”, because it startles the members present and then forces them to at least take the message in. Extended to comments such as “waiting for a can of whoop-ass :hourglass:”. Prerequisites to an ideal can of whoop-ass are that it has to be chunky (about 3 lines long or more) and unexpected enough it causes a disruption of the conversation - if it’s crazy enough, people start talking about it instead. You can also warn people you are writing a can of whoop-ass, to remove the surprise (for serious topics).
Isaiah’s stuff-up: Prior to the 1st iceberg, Isaiah and Ichi were misreading stuff a lot in general chat one night. This led Isaiah to make a meme depicting two buff arms doing a hand shake, but this meme was also stuffed up (i.e. “Me”, meaning Isaiah, was in the middle and “Ichi” and “not being able to read'' were on the sides). This meme is a known Ichi-killer and is one of the only things known to slay a Snich.
Server raid: A user asked for "plushies of me". When clarification was asked for, they sent an edited picture of Hifumi and Doppo, making it clear they believed themselves to be Hifumi. Miles politely asked them to avoid doing so to avoid confusion with the character in the series, eventually leading to said user and their friends from a different server using nasty words and entering the server repeatedly (they believed the user was being attacked because they were psychotic and after the raiders started using slurs, believing a certain slur to be “reclaimed” because they themselves were part of the minority, they also accused the admins of racism). Much stress was had by admins and members alike as the users were banned.
Multitalented members lists: Ichi, prior to the 1st iceberg, made a list for the many talents of Miles. She then made a new list for Aria upon request.
Wanting to be an inanimate object: Hifuhoge’s common desire to become things that people want/need in an attempt to help them out(????). For instance, if someone wants garlic bread, Hifu will say xey have become garlic bread. Hifu has become shelter, a vampire, shrimp and much more this way, but the inanimate objects are the most memorable.
Isaiah’s bad dad jokes: Jokes that don’t fall under “deez nuts jokes” or “your mom jokes”, but are still pretty terrible. E.g. [Context: Frost ate a taco.] “Wanna taco ‘bout it?”
Fan division rap battles: The first of these occurred prior to the 1st iceberg’s posting, but they started taking off before the posting of this iceberg, with a new battle scheduled to go up on the 26th of November 2021.
Tier 4:
Jeffery Bezos Soap: Sophia (aka “AssDestroyer420”) as Jeffery (sic) Bezos. Done so she could “buy out King Records”. This also led to the question of "what division would [person famous for being rich, e.g. Elon Musk] stan?".
Dog vomit sticker: A contribution by Isaiah, where the small white dog appears to be vomiting (but is probably not). Either reviled or loved by server regulars.
Shrivelling: TP has a “SamatokiShrivel” emoji, as well as a “JyutoShrivel” and a “DiceShrivel”. Thus, “shrivelling” became known as the action where one becomes a sweating, stressed-out husk, like the emojis do (commonly “shrivels” or “shrivel” from Aria when feeling a similar way).
DMas’s bath time: Fish has a habit of joking about peeking when DMas has his bath. Therefore, Fish likes to ask when DMas does this. This also extends to Snich saying Fish swims in DMas’s toilet and jumps out occasionally to see whether DMas has brushed his teeth.
Isaiah losing the game: Miles likes to tease members, but most commonly Isaiah, with “you lost the game” or similar.
Look here: At one point, there was an elaborate joke by Isaiah, directing members to a channel called “here” (located on the top of the server’s channel navigation for visibility). Its contents? A single picture saying “deez nuts”. The resulting conversation was a lot of “Look under there.”/”Where?”/”There.” (and repeat until someone said “Under where?”)
Revoking admin status: Isaiah removed Miles’s admin status to mute him on at least one occasion and has threatened to remove Aria’s. Aria still holds a grudge up until the time of writing, because this threat was over the petty crime of liking pineapple on pizza.
Double Trouble: A duet by Sasara and Samatoki, bundled with the limited edition 1st volume of Dawn of Divisions. TP, in particular, got addicted to it.
Famther: Chiki’s way of greeting 14 after 14 helped Chiki with how to edit Picrew images. The result of when Hifu started making “fake marriages”; in other words, it is a typo of “father”.
Wouldn’t you like to know, weather boy?: Originally from this video. One of Miles’s favourite insults, alongside “deez nuts” and the aforementioned “you lost the game”.
Imitating other people: A self-explanatory process, used for trolling other people. Facilitated by the /avatar command in the bot channel. Resulted in an entire “cult of Jun” at one point. There were about 6 different “DMases” at another and about 3 (not including the original) “DMases” at another. After repeated occurrences, incidents of this nature are considered a nuisance by the admins.
Sam’s fried rice: As part of her simping for DMas, Sam threatens(?) to make fried rice for DMas (typically with shrimp, one of her favourite foods).
Cooking with Sam, Episode 1: Sam’s failed attempt to make spaghetti.
Server-assigned animal: Much like the server fruits, certain members were assigned animals by the rest of the server (...and before you ask, yes, Snich was assigned the Euasian blackbird from their iconic profile pic, but also an axolotl and a beaver). Most commonly immortalised by the owl emoji found in Aria’s name.
:SwagYes: : A nodding cat emoji. Prior to the 1st iceberg, it was most commonly used to identify Toob, but since then, Aria has found it and adopted it as their own. (Note 1: :SwagNo: also exists, but it is much less common.) (Note 2: Toob’s version is just called . :SwagYes: is Aria’s version of the same emoji.)
Beel’s biology classes: Beel teaches the server about frogs and bugs sometimes. Apparently, Isaiah once imposed slow mode on general chat due to it.
Tier 5:
Flying banana: After Sam ate a banana and said eating of banana properly woke her up at some unholy hour (approximately 4 am, her time, to be precise), Aria said, “You can't blame a banana on stuff like this! You ate the banana!” Sam then said this banana flew into her mouth to deflect the blame from herself, resulting in Aria creating an edit of a flying banana.
Blackmail material: Having been around the server a lot (as you can tell from these icebergs), Aria has a lot of dirt on those in the server. Hence, there is minor vague threatening of gathering blackmail material, particularly through a list of DMas’s weaknesses (non-definitive).
Hifu and Sam’s Mammoth Penguin wedding: Hifuhoge represents xemself with a penguin in emojis and represented Sam as a mammoth at one point (also a dodo, a cricket and a worm at other times), so when they “got married” one time (informally), it was a badly-done drawing of a penguin and a mammoth with a stick-figure pastor.
The day everyone turned evil: There were a series of memes of “what if [subject] was evil?”, akin to “opposite day” (example here). This then got applied to the server on the 22nd of October 2021 (Japanese time and surrounding timezones), leading to evil selves like “I Am Health” who stanned Buster Bros and had a Joe (from Sk8) profile picture (Ichi), “Ill-Cat” who made typoes and had a Ramuda profile picture (Aria), “Serious” who was a dictator (Isaiah), “f*** you” with the evil Ichiro profile picture (Snichiro) and, most hilariously, “heterosexual”, who loved women and had a status of “:ruler: women” (Miles). Can be seen as the antithesis of “imitating other people”.
"winter is by far my least favourite month" - Isaiah: A typo. Previously in pinned before pins were cleaned out.
“Bony d*ck”/”Mobile d*ck”: Typoes of “Moby Dick”, resulting from DMas trying to find an opposite of “black bird” (because Moby Dick is a “white whale”). Miles walked away from the convo when these typoes started causing the entire convo to devolve.
Isaiah’s game of charades: After a discussion about tits (birds), DMas drew a bird. This led to Isaiah drawing a picture of a bird eating watermelon, then members of the server getting their own Isaiah-style charades drawings, starting with a cookie holding up a crumb (e.g. for Aria it was a bird on a box saying “Dictionary”, for Miles it was a badly-drawn centaur). Other members of the server then drew their own renditions of these images and different versions of these images were taken up as profile pictures after all the drawings were done. Memorable images include the buff Snich drawn by 14 (a take on Aria’s :TGbirbstrong: emoji), Isaiah’s clown and 14’s drawing of an owl sitting on “TASKS'' and “ADMIN [duties]” (Aria).
French deez nuts joke: Miles once got Isaiah with a deez nuts joke by calling himself “Jamie”. The genius behind this joke was Isaiah had to go out of his way to be deez nutted.
Server Nessie/Server bigfoot: Aria’s analogy for Switchy and Ocho, respectively, due to the latter not coming out from Mudae and being celebrated whenever she is seen, while the former is rarely sighted and only appears for brief periods as of the time of writing, if he ever appears at all. Carried on by Fish.
:FishPat:: Commonly requested by Fish from Aria.
Capypede: A cross between a capybara and a centipede with mechanical legs, but also holding two guns with human hands. Originally created by Isaiah and immortalised in a drawing by Aria, which actually made them miss something they were meant to attend… *sweatdrop*
“Exlied Melon” (sic): After Jexus got hacked, he changed his server name to this. However, he did not notice the typo until it was pointed out to him.
Flipping the Snich: If Snich is a bird, then it is only right flipping the bird should be known as “flipping the Snich” (<- Aria logic). Originally described as doing a table flip with Snich on the table, so Snich would be flung at the target. Specifically refers to a conversation where Fish basically denied Aria’s existence, which brought them to the point of wanting to flip the Snich.
Rosho in jail: A very specific variant of gacha salt. Although Miles likes Rosho, Rosho is brutal to him in ARB. It got to the point where Miles made a deck in the game with a single Rosho SSR surrounded by Sasara SSRs (in Miles’s words, Rosho got put on parole with someone to keep him company).
Onyō = How to pronounce “onion” from this video. Shared by Snich and spread by Aria.
Fish almost being banned*: Refers to the user Fish.
:BlobGlare:*
6 hour cool down chat: Isaiah once imposed the longest cool down period possible on general chat...and only some members were affected. For instance, Sam escaped it pretty quickly, but Mira got hit pretty bad.

Hey!! I was wondering if you know who the hypmic manga artist(s) are? I was looking for it and couldnt figure it out!
Sure!
The artist of the Fling Posse vs Matenrou manga is Kiiko Jou.
The artist of the BB vs MTC manga is Tetsuji Kanie.
And the artist of The Dirty Dawg manga is Rui Karasuzuki.
They all seem to be new artists bc the HypMic mangas are their only series both on MyAnimeList and Manga-Updates.

Tottori City is Now Home to the "World's Most Expensive Crab"
The city of Tottori in Tottori Prefecture in western Japan has nothing to be crabby about, because according to Guinness World Records, they now possess the world's "most expensive crab sold at auction" thanks to a sprightly 1.28 kilogram (2.82 lb) male snow crab that was sold at auction for 2 million yen (about $17,605 US) on November 07, 2018.
The crab - which is classified by a panel of 10 judges as a top-shelf "Itsukiboshi" ("Five Shining Stars") specimen due to its body length, weight, leg shape, coloration, and overall meatiness - was purchased by Tetsuji Hamashita, a fishmonger, and then was donated alive to a crab exhibition in Tottori for display.
At a special ceremony held on November 24, 2018, at the Yebisu Garden Place venue in Tokyo, the governor of Tottori Prefecture, Shinji Hirai, accepted the Guinness award and invited people to visit Tottori in order to see the "world's most expensive" crab, ending his pitch with a pun in which he mingled the English word "welcome" with "kani", the Japanese word for crab.
