This scene takes place in the thirteenth chapter of my first book, Origins. It's just after Grayson and Alaric tortured Azrael and before they dumped his body down the garbage chute. Believe it or not, this isn't showing his most grievous wounds. He is alive though, if barely. Grayson was too dumb to check for vitals before he tossed his body. I was in another one of my moods and needed an outlet. This was also practice for shadows and perspective.

This is a "behind the scenes" scene of my first book, Sanguine Bonds - Origins. It's Grayson complaining to Alaric (for good reason, really) about him being the only one that subdued their targets even though there were three other vampires on the mission, and getting riddled with holes and burns, while the others did diddly.

These are my original characters, Grayson Elsher, Alaric Mikalis, Damien Hemlock, and Azrael Thistlegrove. They're all vampires of various races. Azrael looks darker because his skin tone was very tan in life, but he's still very much (un)dead.

....It kinda looks like Grayson's about to bite a chunk out of Az's rear. lol

This is an updated version of an old piece I did back in 2022. I was happy with the background, so I just redrew Azrael and Grayson and the little stalker in the background.

This is depicting a scene in the 11th chapter of my first book, Sanguine Bonds - Origins. Grayson got a foot to the nose, so he's paying Azrael back with interest.

This depicts a nightmare of Azrael's that I have yet to actually write. It was an idea that stuck in my head and wouldn't leave, so I drew it from start to finish in one night. It depicts Damien as being the saviour to pull Az from the suffocating darkness, because Damien was there for him when he needed a friend the most. Since his exile from his homeland, Az had been lonely and abused by his master; used as both a thief and an assassin against his will, and he turned to heavy drinking and sex to cope.

He managed to escape all that when Valandil recruited him to his cause and Damien reached out to befriend him when he had no one.

This was some random doodle that I made in response to a screenshot of some in-game lore a friend posted on our ESO guild's discord. It made me giggle, so I sketched out my thief's reaction to it. The screenshot of the lore-page went something like; "What do you get when you catch a Wood Elf thief? The pleasure of pressing a searing hot poker through his eye and into his brain!" It would understandably make Azrael uncomfortable. lol This is one of my vampire OCs in my Sanguine Bonds series, Azrael. He's mischievous as all hell and he's a thief by profession, but really, he has a heart of gold. lol

This is an artistic depiction of Grayson Elsher, one of the main baddies, stabbing poor Azrael in the chest. It's not how it really happens. Az is actually supposed to be wearing pants for one, and supposed to be chained to a torture rack for two, but I thought it would make a neat, if somewhat gory, picture. Enjoy, if you're into that kinda thing. lol

This is Valandil being… well, Valandil. He knows he's pretty, though he doesn't let it get to his head. …Too much. His name is Count Valandil Bellandi, and he's the eldest vampire character of my book series, Sanguine Bonds, as well as my first main character in the game The Elderscrolls Online, and he's my main protagonist Damien Hemlock's boyfriend and rescuer. The two friends have been taken captive and had their powers bound to prevent their escape. They've been isolated in different areas in their makeshift prison to keep them in line.

Azrael fumes, knowing the sacrifices his best friend made in an effort to save his life. Damien weeps, knowing it wasn't enough, and blaming himself for the entire ordeal. Together, they wait their impending doom.

It's a depiction of what happens to my two main characters in the first book of my series, Sanguine Bonds.

This scene takes place in Azrael Thistlegrove's origin story that I'm currently working on, called Sanguine Bonds - The Thief. He's twenty years old here, just a month or two before he's killed and turned into a vampire, and he's on a mission with his childhood rival, Garvil Heatherbow to investigate some disappearances and inadvertently finds the source. Hence the name-calling as he's going airborne. lol

Azrael dropped one of his daggers to pry at the giant’s sausage-like fingers that were crushing his throat and he blindly kicked and struggled in it’s grip.

He was rending and slashing at it’s wrist with his remaining dagger before, in a last ditch effort to get free, he finally plunged it through it’s forearm.

The giant threw him at the ground, roaring in pain and flailing it’s bleeding wrist around, which still had the dagger buried deep to the hilt. Azrael hit the stone floor and he bounced and rolled to a stop several feet away before he slowly staggered to his feet. Everything spun around him and he swooned and fell back down to his knees and braced himself up with one arm.

He held his throat with his other hand and fought to breathe through his crushed windpipe. He squinted and strained to see anything and he prayed to Jal that the giant wasn’t coming after him to finish the job.

His ears were still ringing and he had a new gash on his forehead to accompany the one on the back of his head. Blood ran down his face and into his eye before it dripped to the floor. He wiped some of it away with the back of his hand, but his injured shoulder throbbed as he moved it and his tail curled at his feet with a pained whimper. It was most definitely broken.

Azrael’s doubled vision allowed him to see vague shapes again and he was almost certain that he saw the vampire that flash-banged them at the top of the stairs fall to pieces, but he wasn’t one-hundred percent sure if it was his eyes playing tricks on him or not. He did hit his head pretty hard.

But then he saw a blur and the giant fell backwards to the ground as well. It’s head rolled in front of it and it’s feet were still partially stuck in ice.

Azrael was still squinting and he blinked several times. He pulled his hunting knife from his boot and forced himself back to his feet and he swayed unsteadily as he prepared himself as best as he could for an attack.

After a few more seconds of dazed blinking and shaking his head, his vision cleared further and now he could see Valandil standing over the giant in the center of the room with his bloodied scimitars in hand.

His eyes glowed bright red with blood-lust, like two blazing flames in the darkness of the cellar. Blood ran down the High Elf’s chin and the front of his neck and Azrael highly doubted it was his.

He looked around the room and didn’t see Damien anywhere, but he could easily guess where his friend was. The barrels on the other side of the room that were stacked neatly just moments ago were now splintered and blasted as if someone had taken a sledgehammer to them.

Azrael’s legs buckled from beneath him and he collapsed to his hands and knees once more before he pointed in the direction that Damien had been thrown on the far side of the room. His larynx was crushed and he was unable to speak and barely able to breathe.

His heart raced, as, he had no idea what condition Damien was in, and he could only watch helplessly as Valandil turned and ran in the direction he pointed out.

Azrael’s hearing had almost recovered by then, and he could somewhat hear Reykala’s screams through the ringing as she transformed back to her original form and saw out of the corner of his eye as she fell to her knees and curled forward in agony as her bones twisted and contorted.

But his panicked gaze remained locked on Valandil and he prayed to the goddess of luck once more that his best friend still lived.

Two of the main characters of my book series, Sanguine Bonds. This is Count Valandil Bellandi (the redhead) and Damien Hemlock (the silver haired one). They're both High Elves and vampires and they're my babies. Valandil is a telepath, the leader of the coven, and Damien's rescuer and lover, who is now a former slave that learns how to be a person after a life of abuse.

Valandil hates it when his stuff is organized and he's a creature of habit, so he has a compromise in mind when Damien wants to go full perfectionist. Damien is an original character of mine, and the main character of my book, Sanguine Bonds: Origins. (which you can read for free here on my DA profile.) He's a vampire and he's my baby.
