This is depicting a scene in the 11th chapter of my first book, Sanguine Bonds - Origins. Grayson got a foot to the nose, so he's paying Azrael back with interest.

born on one cold day in the month of january (1/14/1991).

he's always been a huge fan of is MMA fighting, it's a sport he and his grandfather would watch every saturday when there was one on. he studied their moves, made his notes, and told himself that one day he was going to be one of them. he promised himself.

his dream seemed to be off to a good start as he began hitting the gym more, staying as much out of trouble as he could, and even began to train. his father was very supportive, always pushing him to go the extra mile. his mother was constantly worried for his safety, overall, she also supported him just as much.

every match he had the guy would fight as if it were his last. he didn't lose often, but he did have his loses. he had plenty of rivals and he loved them for it. in his opinion, they were a reason to push his training even more. his favorite rival, however, was sudesh basra. for some reason, he always enjoyed pushing his buttons.

unfortunately, trouble came rearing its ugly head around the corner. one night, at around 2am, he went out to pick up a friend who claimed they were too drunk to drive. what they didn't tell him was they were planning on robbing a home of someone they had been keeping an eye on for a couple of days and needed a scapegoat; something mathias ended up becoming. he refused to confess the truth and ended up paying the price for it by serving 6 years in jail.

he leaned on his family a lot while he was serving time. thankfully, it seemed like a lot of them believed his innocence. his time in jail wasn't the best or the worst. he had made some friends, though he favored angelo cortes out of all the jail mates he met. sometimes he would get in trouble for fighting, but for the most part he tried to do his time as peacefully as possible.

he was twenty-six when he got out of jail (just turned 20 when he got in) and instead of going back to hemlock springs, mathias headed towards new york city. he lived in nyc for a total of two years before he up and left to do a bit of van life.

eventually he made it back to hemlock springs. he sold his van, got a place in riverside, and settled down in hemlock springs again. he's been back for a year now. so far, if you ask him, he's done a pretty good job at keeping out of trouble. if you don't count the occasional drunken bar fight.

The Ramoutar men were always meant for the sea. His father was a fisherman, like his own father before him and Damien always planned to join the family business. Whenever he could he'd find himself out on his father's boat learning the ropes and rigs. The long days at sea and unpredictability of nature however often left Damien's mother raising him and his baby brother alone. When Damien was six and a storm nearly capsized his father's boat, she had had enough. His parents divorced, his mother moving them to Hemlock Springs to be closer to her own family, finding the support she'd been lacking over the years.

To her surprise, his father had moved as well, leaving the family business to his brother and leaving the Caribbean to join them in Washington. He didn't quite leave the sea behind though and started working on a boat out of Seattle. Damien continued to join his father, splitting his time between his mother and father. Eventually his mother moved on, marrying his stepfather and Damien was glad to see his mother happy, despite the continued stress he brought her which each trip out to sea.

When he was 12, she'd implored him to stay behind, his half sister soon to be born but he insisted. He could never explain why but something had nudged him to go on that trip with his father. He never expected that it would be his last. The storm had come out of no where and his father was there one second, gone the next, swept out to sea. His grief was overwhelming and over the next few years as much as he loved his family, he struggled to find his place.

Joining the military out of high school among his band of brothers he couldn't help but feel something akin to the comradery he'd felt among the crew on his father's boat. After his initial term of deployment he continued to re-up, until he was at a decade in service. He had planned to re-up again when word came in from his mother, his sister had fallen in with the wrong crowd picking up bad habits and was now missing. He adored her, it didn't take him long to make his way home to help with the search. They'd found her thankfully and gotten her into a decent rehab and for the first time in a long time, Damien found a desire to stay, to be closer to family.

Discharging from the military and taking a few classes, he only made his mother one promise: not to be a fisherman. Instead he found his place as a Marine Technician and finally settled into Hemlock Springs, though he did get himself a nice houseboat in the marina and even has a sailboat in drydock. He hopes one day he'll be able to take his own kid sailing like his father had, if Aria allows atleast.

YES. In fact, I think every single one of my WIPs has a character who is like that in some way or another. It's one of my absolutely favorite character tropes/archetypes!

Let's take a look at a few of those from my WIPs Enchanted Illusions, Tales of Wilted Flowers, and Mutant Inquiries! I'm really excited to answer this ask!

Enchanted Illusions.

Augustus Grimmure - the crew's resident necromancer (and Harriet's boyfriend that no one is supposed to know about)! Surprisingly, behind his dark magic shenanigans and utter disregard for his enemies' lives, Augustus is a highly loyal person to those who prove themselves worthy of it. He considers his friends as family and holds them in very high esteem. But I'm talking dangerously loyal - he wouldn't hesitate to immediately obliterate and slaughter anyone who even remotely poses a threat to his friends, with very little regard for his own safety - because hey, even if he dies, there's a 50/50 chance his magic will just bring him back stronger.

Damien Daemitya - a.k.a Evangeline's Dad. That man is committed to his family, 100% (arguably) the best divorcee dad in Ansburke. He's a very powerful man in the city as well and would do anything to make sure his family is safe and sound, even if it means disobeying his duties to the sorcerer's council, threatening his rivals/"making problems disappear", or taking the fall for his daughter's public mistakes/screw ups during her investigation (especially publicity-wise).

Agatha Greenwoods - She believes that honesty and loyalty are the basis of any worthwhile relationship, having been raised with a strict sense of justice - which is unsurprising, given she's the daughter of two of the most renowned detectives in the city. Agatha would absolutely stand up for her friends - or any underdog for that matter - regardless of the consequences or what other people may think of them, especially if they're being treated unjustly. Despite her initial distrust, Agatha can form strong attachments very quickly, even without other people realizing it. She just wants her friends to be happy and okay! She is also absolutely relentless in her steadfast commitment to her ideals and "cause" - which includes her mission to bring down the Hemlock Society.

Tales of Wilted Flowers.

Neoma'ka Ornasi - Loyalty is her code of honor, her rare currency with which she shows her affection. Only a precious select few can earn it. She may be a bit of a brute who loves a good bloody brawl more than most things, but if she gives you a slap on the shoulder and tells you "she's proud to fight beside you", she means it (at this point, it's basically her way of saying "I love you"). That girl would go to the ends of the earth and back at a moment's notice with those she considers her siblings-in-arms, no questions asked. She would also tear apart anyone who thinks otherwise.

Micah Rook - Micah may be a thief, but he has a softer heart than most and trusts incredibly easily - so much so it is surprising he's lived this long, especially in his line of work. He has loyalty to spare, and takes the saying "honor among thieves" very seriously. Sure, he may swindle you out of all your coins during a card game, and annoy his friends relentlessly, but when the moment comes and they're in most need of help, he's right there beside them, no matter the stakes.

Lorelai Wildwood - She knows what it is to be an outcast and have no one to turn to, and doesn't want her friends to ever few that way. Lorelai has an endless stream of second chances to give and will stick by and trust those she loves, even when that's an objectively dangerous and stupid thing - but correct, she's no fool- to do at first (ahem, Xarian and his past-). She's not naive (though she might have some attachment issues she's working through) but rather is willing to face the risks if it means her friends are safe.

Mutant Inquiries.

Cory "Diamond" Blythe - They get can attached real quick given the right circumstances and position of the moon, okay? It just depends on the person and their mood at the moment. It's both a character flaw and their greatest strength. When they found Becca (at the start of the story) in trouble, they didn't hesitate to help her and become quite possibly her most loyal friend in the story - even when she gets involved in a dangerous conspiracy and their lack of mutant powers makes him be in even more danger. No one messes with their crew. And anyone who does will have a 20-something-year-old menace running after them, likely on heels, with a switchblade.

Alexey Morikov - He is the definition of "taking secrets to the grave". He's not one to devote his ideals and self to a cause - he's done it before, and look where it got him- but that doesn't mean he can't extend his affection and loyalty to people he cares about, much to his chagrin and against his best efforts. He's like a stray cat who will hiss if you get too close and get sad when it doesn't get cuddles. Despite his "I don't give a damn, do whatever you want with your life, see if I care" attitude towards his friends, he cares immensely. The team, unfortunately, only finds out just how loyal he is and how much he does care when he gets kidnapped by the Agency - and promptly makes the agents' life hell by not telling them a thing about his friends until he's rescued.

Samantha Holborn - A team leader at heart, she built their little mismatched friend group of vigilantes on a foundation of loyalty and trust, of always being there for one another. She is highly idealistic - no price on this earth could sway her from her goals or change her mind from her beliefs, being steadfast and stubborn to an unimaginable degree.

Anyways, I really love the clown and red theme ideas! Also, since Vocaloid is technically a music software, I was thinking some music-themed names as well! Also, as long as this isn't too specific, could you maybe do some X-themed things since there's a lot of Xs in his design?

I also like the idea of the darker, edgier themes, but I'd rather not have anything explicitly horror/slasher/demon related... as someone who kins Fukase, being associated with that stuff brings back some rough memories :( /nm

This is a good one! Our iw is actually really complicated cus of our ✨️trauma✨️ but the general idea of it is several islands that are fuckin impossible to travel between (courtesy of our programmers being a bitch lol)

Most of our known alts live in the main island that was dubbed Hemlock, which I'm pretty sure is a plant?? But it contains the fronting room, so that's probably why we mostly know ppl from here. Hemlock is pretty big for me it would take a while to walk from where I live to the edge of the island so it's got a lotta shit on it so I'll just list off the main areas of it:]

Mash up mansion: got its name from the fact that it's technically three mansions from fiction all in one(markiplier mansion from wkm, the woodland forest mansion from minecraft and one of our olds hosts OCs mansion) it's basically the common area for our primary fronters since all our bedrooms are in there + most of the more "typically" presenting littles/middles

The vault: a (I'm pretty sure) subsystem that's mostly just persecutors and and a handful of gatekeepers to make sure they're not fucking around too much, it looks like an underground cavern that kinda just tunnels under the main island

CULT OF THE BLACK SHEEP

A "cult" made up of high schoolers with a curiosity for the macabre. Current members consist of Luna Ravenight (Parker Davy), Ivy Hemlock-Plague (Natalie Roth), Sabrina Rosary (Elizabeth Gaither), Jett Deathblade (Cooper Bradshaw), Damien Plague (Bennett Hochstelter), and Blayze (Eddy Zimmer)

As you would expect, their cult meetings consist of hanging out at the park playground, smoking weed, using a ouija board to summon demons, and playing Evanescence.

This depicts a nightmare of Azrael's that I have yet to actually write. It was an idea that stuck in my head and wouldn't leave, so I drew it from start to finish in one night. It depicts Damien as being the saviour to pull Az from the suffocating darkness, because Damien was there for him when he needed a friend the most. Since his exile from his homeland, Az had been lonely and abused by his master; used as both a thief and an assassin against his will, and he turned to heavy drinking and sex to cope.

He managed to escape all that when Valandil recruited him to his cause and Damien reached out to befriend him when he had no one.

These are both my original characters from my book series, Sanguine Bonds.

I wrote down the story of my Sim family (the XXX are names I don't remember xD): Josie lives in Bridgeport with her daughter Kathy. She wants to become famous and rich there. She also becomes rich because she gets together with the Grim Reaper and has two sons with him, Damien and Cole. Kathy & Damien go to university together with Damien's girlfriend, his best friend XXX Hemlock & her ex XXX. There, out of jealousy, his BFF turns his GF into a werewolf with an elixir he gave her. He ends the friendship, but the relationship with his GF falls apart (as BFF wanted) when she turns him into a werewolf too. After college, his former BFF tries to mend the relationship between them, which leads to an F+ development. Damien mixes a potion that turns him back into a normal Sim. Kathy meets and falls in love with Ashley DeSorrento at university. She moves in with them. The family moves to Moonlight Falls and Kathy, Damien & Ashley move out. Kathy and Ashley get married & have a baby in the future. They then have 5 more children. However, they are cursed so that all of their children suffer fatal accidents as teenagers. Hazel, the youngest, manages to break the curse because her trait is unlucky. They decide to raise their older sister Celine from the dead. Damien and his F+ have a little boy named Quinn, who she lets him grow up with. It quickly turns out that Quinn is actually a girl & she is immediately accepted by her family. She often goes fishing with her Uncle Cole. Damien is abducted by aliens several times and has two children, Orion and later Andromeda. When Orion, Celine, Hazel & Quinn grow up, they attend university together. While Orion & Celine focus on college, Hazel meets her BF Ben while Quinn has many one night stands. Ben moves in with them. Orion buys several horses and begins to take part in tournaments. Andromeda is now a teenager. Her BFF invites her to the prom & she gets her hopes up that the two of them will end up together. At the same time, she decides that she no longer wants to be an alien. For the next few days her BFF is very cold towards her & they grow apart. Orion & Quinn become police officers (that's where i am currently at), but when Orion investigates a particularly explosive case, he is murdered. The rest of the family is then resettled under a new surname and they have to move to Isla Paradiso. There Quinn meets a merman with whom the F+ begins. But later the friendship breaks down and he ends up getting together with Andromeda.

Cottonwood: What event has the most impact throughout the story, and leaves its trace in many scenes?

I've mentioned this a few times in some prior posts, but the main event that quite literally shaped Ansburke was the centuries-long war between humans and Myths, which came to a truce/peace treaty around 100 years before the events of the book. It shaped Ansburke, their country's capital city, as humans and mythical beings looked for ways to coexist somewhat peacefully after centuries of warfare. The city became a melting pot where humans and all enchanted species could exist together in peace, a symbol of progress - however, Ansburke has a darker side as well, since the resentment and prejudice from those bygone days of war still hold sway over some of the population, and the growing tensions between both sides of their society led to the events that happened immediately before, during and after the first main novel's story.

Some other events hold a lot of impact in the events of Enchanted Illusions, but they happen during the actual story, so I'm putting a summarized version of those (only some of them, not the major plot twists) under the cut here (:

Vincent Sharppe's failed assassination attempt. (In summary, he was caught in an explosion in the Thornfell Lords' Chamber - a place which was a symbol of the union between humans and Myths. The explosion was the horrid first open action of the crooked Hemlock Society, and their debut as the mysterious villainous cult/organization that brutally haunts the city throughout the book. Harriet Sharppe discovers it was not a coincidence - because her cousin's injury wasn't from the explosion itself, he was shot - and that the explosion was also a way for the Hemlock Society to get cover the attempted murder of her cousin while also inciting civil unrest). The Hemlock Society wanted to cause more division in the already strained city and prey on the prejudices some humans and Myths still held for each other - so this explosion, referred to throughout the book as the "Thornfell Incident", not only sets Harriet's arc in motion - as, even though Vincent survives, she wants to find out who is responsible for this - but is the beginning of what could turn into a civil war in Ansburke and the rest of the country. It definitely leaves traces in lots of scenes and plot points throughout the novel.

"Thaddeus' Revolution" (the rebellion is not his, but he's one of their main leaders and I haven't named it yet so, lmao) - Thaddeus is part of a secret rebellion that actively undermines the crooked workings of the villains (the villains being the members of the Hemlock Society) from behind the scenes. They have a network of agents throughout the city of Ansburke and even other cities, which have magical means of keeping each other updated without calling attention to themselves - though their founder's face has never been seen by any of them, and is one of the main plot twists of the story. Thaddeus is a good friend of some of the protagonists, and his revolution gives the main characters support in their mission to stop the Hemlock's plan, giving them a better chance at succeeding against the villains, so I'd say it is a very important plot point and many scenes have some connection to it.

The Daemitya Scandal - While not as jarring and world-changing as the other moments mentioned above, the "Daemitya Scandal" is vastly important for the story of Evangeline (one of the main POV characters) as she is one of House Daemitya's most promising heirs. The "scandal" consists of the circumstances surrounding the chaotic divorce of Damien Daemitya (Evangeline's father) and Ophelia Tallonai (her stepmother and an antagonist in the series) and due to exposed secrets and the lies spun by Ophelia, the reputation of House Daemitya (which happens to be one of the most ancient and powerful noble Houses of Ansburke) was compromised, but not destroyed - as in, no one really knows other than a select few know the real truth behind what happened, but Ophelia's lies and the newspaper's attention seeking headlines sure did some damage, but the House's reputation and power still remained politically unshaken. Many people talk about the "Daemitya Scandal" in the story, in varying degrees of truth, but it's mostly important because: 1. It's something that haunts Evangeline's current life and has deep connections to her childhood trauma regarding her abusive stepmother, 2. Explains why Damien is so desperate to have a good image so that he's not kicked out of the High Council due to his influential ex's lies, 3. sets up the stage for Ophelia's scheme later on in the story too.

Part four. I'm finishing concluded shows before I start new ones. As you know I watch a lot. A lot a lot. Anyway. Here's the fourth batch.

Bloodline. It's about family, murder and secrets. I liked the cast. The show had a interesting ending. Not a cliffhanger.

Quantico. Finally finished this. The ending was okay but I wasnt happy with one thing. Vague I know.

Hemlock Grove. Took forever to get back to this and now I wish there was at least another season or a few more episodes but the ending was wild. I do recommend this show. It's about werewolves. Landon Liboiron, Famke Janssen and especially Bill Skarsgård are amazing and perfectly casted in the roles.

Damien. The show is a modern take on Damien ("The Omen"). He's unaware of the evil forces surrounding him. It was cancelled. Bradley James, who plays Damien, is the reason I watched it.

Dirty John. I listened to the podcast after it was recommended to me. Found out about the series and months later finished the series. It's based on a true story. I recommend the podcast but if you prefer a visual, the series is great too.

Stan Against Evil. It was cancelled. I wish that it had one more season. Freaking hilarious show. I absolutely love John C. McGinley, who plays Stan. He discovers that demons exist after his wife dies. He and the new sheriff battle the forces to protect the town. Everytime his daughter, Deborah Baker Jr, was on screen I laughed. I recommend this show. It's on hulu.

Arrested Development. There's always money in the banana stand. I gave up on the last season (let's be honest S1 & S2 were the best) and finally finished it. I guess its officially officially canceled. Goodbye Mrs. Featherbottom.

Guest Book. This series is an funny anthology series of different customers that rent this one cabin. They write their stories (backstories, what's currently going on etc) in the guest book. It has funny guest stars, Eddie Steeples (Crab Man from 'My Name is Earl') is in both seasons. Iove that guy. Damn shame it was cancelled.
