★CEDF Charity (non-explicit) Pin-up Calendar INTEREST POST★

Hey guys! So @lilac-vode posted some chiss pin-ups recently, and @asteroids-and-tractorbeams mentioned a CEDF charity calendar, so I thought... why not?

Would you guys be interested in a (key word: non-explicit!) Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet-themed pin-up calendar, similar to lilac’s and @royalstardustwrites’ art?

If possible, it would also feature the dates of star wars releases (such as the date heir to the empire was published) and other events!

If so, awesome! We’d be looking for those interested in both contributing art and purchasing, though as there are only 12 months in a year, there will be a limited number of contributors.

After paying for costs, all proceeds would go to a charity determined by the contributors.

Five things about me, let’s see:

1. I have read the majority of the Star Wars canon novels and Tim Zahn’s legends books (by majority I mean AT LEAST 75% of them and all of Zahn’s legends books that aren’t Allegiance and Scoundrels)

2. I have a bachelor’s degree in astrobiology (the study of life on other planets)!

3. The CEDF Charity Calendar was originally my idea! Shout out to @not-the-tie-youre-looking-for and @lilac-vode for running with that idea and making it a reality, I can’t thank you enough

4. My favorite hobby outside of reading and thinking about fictional characters is cross-stitching!

5. I like to think that I’m very good with timelines and specific details so if you have an obscure Star Wars question chances are I’ll probably remember the answer or will know where to look it up

Rules: Get to know your mutuals!! when you get this, it means i want to know more about you, so list 5 things about yourself you want your followers to know. they can be as simple as your age or as complex as your deepest fear, as long as it’s something you’re comfortable with sharing.

I’m passionately in love with when people drop their special interests into fic. Like I cannot tell you how much I love it, reading a fic and seeing someone go “actually” and then drop some incredibly deep world building based on something the author knows, or when they give a character expertise in something the author is passionate about. That passion shines through and I adore it. And honestly, if you ever learn a thing and want to yell it at someone I’m 1000% here for that shit, please tell me weird facts, I love them.

Speaking of weird facts, I used to work at an aquarium back in the day. I handled the visitors, but it was my job to know a shit ton of marine biology facts in case they asked, so I’m sitting on a lot of random bio information, which is why sometimes my writing is Like That. I’ve also worked in forestry, so. By land or by sea, I’m a huge dork.

A lot of my say job is writing, so if I ever imply that I’ve got a fic idea, and then never write it, it’s because by the end of the day my brain is jello and my eyes are exhausted. That said, if you ever want me to yell about it, HMU, and if you ever want to take the idea and run with it I’ll bake you cake

I literally cannot write angst. I can come up with a few ideas here and there, but I can’t do it. Fic is my escape, and everyone will be happy, god damnit. If you click on one of my stories, it’s going to have a happy ending. Sometimes literally, sometimes euphemistically, but either way everyone leaves happy. Which is not at all a knock on whump writers! There’s some good shit in that genre, and if you like it, you like it! I just have lived a life with too much grief for me to import any artificial sadness, and I have more fun day dreaming happiness and love, ya know?

I really enjoy acts of creation. I knit, I sew, I crochet, I can make lace on shuttles and bobbins. I draw, I write, I tell stories, sing songs, grow flowers, bake bread. I enjoy making something new, taking an idea and making it reality, and then sharing it with the world. I think that’s one of the greatest, most human things: making stuff. I think it’s incredibly important to make stuff, even if it’s not particularly skilled or “good” stuff. Hum a tune, paint a wall, fold some paper, cook a meal, it’s all a way to take your thought and turn it into action, but I think the act of creation is so, so important. And it’s truly an honor to know so many other creators-of-things. It’s magic, and I love it, and I love you for sharing it with the world.

Preorders Open! + Artist Announcements!

The 2022 CEDF Charity Calendar is now available for pre-order on our Gumroad!

This is a 12 month calendar featuring non-explicit pin-up art of various CEDF members, each drawn by a different artist! There is also a bonus mini-zine available, and the two items may be purchased as a bundle.

Please note that the calendar and mini-zine are both digital only, though you may certainly print them if you so choose. The calendar is printable at a maximum size of 11x14″ and the mini-zine is printable at a maximum size of 5x7″. The files will be delivered on January 1, 2022!

All proceeds from sales of the calendar & digital mini zine will be donated to the Navajo Water Project, an organization working to install solar power and running water in homes on the Navajo Nation.

Hello everyone! We are now accepting artist applications for the CEDF Charity Calendar! Applications will be open for two weeks and will close on Sunday, August 15, 23:59 EST!
