When listening to the audio books I always imagine Samakro with a well kept warrior look especially with how gruff his voice sounds. I could totally see him with a beard but I read some where that Chiss don’t grow facial hair. More characters from the Ascendancy are coming!

I am thinking thoughts about Eli getting promoted to Lieutenant Commander in Treason. It’s definitely very interesting in retrospect given the discussion in Greater Good about what Lieutenant Commander actually means.

Which opens the interesting but not exclusive possibilities that:

Ar’alani is under political pressure to not promote Eli further

Thrawn and Eli are completely unaware of the implications of the position

The Chiss Ar’alani is trying to appease with the promotion is Thrawn
