Robbie Turner

The hallway of St. Thomas's Hospital is filled with the faint scent of antiseptic and an undertone of lavender from wash cloths. The air is heavy with the weight of stories untold, of lives interrupted by war that ended last mont. Ever since then, you've been caring for a lot of patients. One of them was young Robbie Turner, a man your age.

You push open the door to room 204, heart thumping a little faster than usual, excited and nervous. Your uniform brushes against you, a reminder of your duties, yet a part of you longs for the moment you spend with him.

Robbie Turner sits by the window, his blue eyes scanning the street below, shadows dancing across freckled cheeks. He looks like a wistful poet in some far-off garden, contemplating life’s agonies and joys.

Having served in the war, the weight of those experiences clings to him like a heavy coat, but today feels different—there’s a certain lightness in his demeanor as you enter.

“Hey, soldier.”

You softly greet him, eliciting a shy smile that flickers across his pink lips, momentarily dispelling the clouds in his gaze.

He turns his head slightly, his shoulder catching the sunlight in just the right way, illuminating the bandage that swathes his wound.

"Hey.."

He replies, his voice still laced with that charming, flirty tone that makes your heart race, though he artfully disguises it behind a mask of shyness. His freckled cheeks blush ever so slightly—his tell when he's nervous.

“How are you feeling today?”

You ask, approaching him, unable to suppress a smile of your own, your heart fluttering at the sight of him.

Robbie shrugs lightly, careful not to jostle his wounded shoulder.

“Like a new man.”

He says, a half-smile playing on his lips.

“A little less battle-worn, I suppose."

You settle into the chair beside him, your proximity allowing you to catch a glimpse of vulnerability in his expression.

“You sound better than yesterday.”

You say, leaning forward, genuinely interested. There’s an underlying sadness in his eyes that you long to chase away, if only he would let you.

“It’s the company.”

He responds, glancing sideways at you, a wink and spark in his already luminous blue eyes. It surprises you how close you got in a month, yet it feels comforting.

“Just a nurse doing her job.”

You reply, grinning playfully. Inside, you feel the truth of your words; you dearly wish to be more than just a passing duty to him. You want to hold that gaze forever and comfort his restless spirit. In a month you became more than nurse and her patiend, you're good friends. Very good.

The two of you sit in comfortable silence, the occasional shuffle of nurses and doctors floating in and out, but there’s a cocoon around you both.

He steals glances at you, his eyes sparkling with gratitude, yet there’s also that sheen of something more, something deeper—something that feels like longing.

“Can I ask you something?”

He finally breaks the quiet, turning to you fully, his brows slightly furrowed. He seems hesitant, contemplating his words with the solemnity of a soldier preparing for battle.

“Of course Robbie.”

You encourage gently, feeling your heart seize in anticipation.

“Do you ever think about how life changes?”

He asks, his tone profound, the boyish flirt transformed into an old soul wrestling with the weight of experience.

“Before and after the war?”

His gaze drifts out of the window, losing itself somewhere in memories etched in the lines of his laughter.

"I do,” you admit, leaning closer.

“Life has a way of flipping everything upside down. But it’s what we make of the time afterward that matters.”

His blue eyes find yours again, vulnerability peeling away some of the bravado.

“And how does one figure out what to make of it?”

He hits you with a piercing question that mirrors your own struggles.

"You take small steps," you reply

Biting your lip, a wave of empathy washing over you.

“It's about finding comfort in the people around you...”

There’s a heartbeat of stillness between you both, a moment where the world outside seems to fade. He studies you, and you know he sees: your gentle smile, the way your hair falls over your eyes, the tender kindness that brims in your gaze. Robbie's hand rests near your own, the space between them electric.

“Do you think...”

His voice trails off, and you lean in closer, captivated by the moment.

“Do you think we could discover that together? Comfort, I mean?”

“Oh, Robbie...”

You whisper, realizing your own feelings are mirrored in his. There’s an undeniable pull, a breathless intimacy in the air.

“I’d like that very much.”

His fingers brush against yours, hesitant yet hopeful—a gentle reminder of the warmth of human connection, ignited by the simple touch. You feel tingles travel up your spine, a gentle tremor of excitement mixed with trepidation.

“I don't think I'll ever feel... normal after everything.”

He confesses, glancing down at your joined hands, the golden afternoon light wrapping around your fingers.

“But with you, I might..I can try.”

Your heart melts, and a soft smile sprawls across your lips.

“You don't deserve to feel that way, Robbie."You’ve endured so much, but you’re not alone anymore. I’m here.”

His eyes lock onto yours, and for a fleeting moment, you wonder what lies ahead—a new beginning or just another chapter of life’s endless tales? But whatever it is, you realize with clarity that you want to walk this path with him.

“Do you think it’s crazy?”

He asks, small laughter bubbling up within him, lightening the air.

“To want something more after everything?”

“No, it's human."

You answer softly, your heart racing with a mix of joy and anticipation.

A flicker of mischief dances across his eyes, and you can’t help but chuckle.

“Then perhaps it’s time to start writing a new story—I’ve had enough of tragedy.”

“Only if I can be part of that story.”

You squeeze his hand and lean a little closer. The space narrows, the world fading to insignificance. Your hearts beat in sync—a promise of the future layered with unspoken words.

Robbie smiles, that boyish, flirty charm surfacing anew.

“Believe me, my lovely nurse, you already are.”

In the warmth of that moment, you both know the truth: healing takes time, but maybe, just maybe, it can also mean rediscovering love in each other’s eyes.

The war is over, but perhaps, you think, this is just the beginning. The chapter is unwritten, but the whispers of healing sound like a sweet serenade, one you both long to share together.

Quick info dump about my ANGR Firefighter AU for Robbie

● Certain points from Vengeance Drives for Uber by @rokhal will be included, including but not limited to Guero being wheelchair bound, Alex Northwick's death (with a slight tweak being Robbie didn't dispose of his body into Hell), Vengeance's skirmish with Robbie, the ending rescue of the bus and Forerunner incident.

● The main antagonists will be Muse of course but also, Marco Miranda a corrupt and racist cop who will continuously harass Robbie for having Grumpy's car and John Orr (real person worth a quick Google if you have time) an arsonist Fire Chief & Arson Investigator in Robbie's district who begins burning places close to the Reyes Residence and places of importance to Robbie, leading up John lighting fire to the scrap yard while Robbie is inside, just to name the ones I've fleshed out so far. Vengeance will make a minor appearance as he'll be in LAPD custody and Robbie will assist in him getting escorted to a S.H.I.E.L.D. Facility.

● Robbie, Lisa and Gabe will all work in the same station. Robbie will be a Firefighter III and EMT (since LAFD requires Firefighters to hold a level of medical as well), Lisa will be a paramedic, and Gabe will act as a secretary as sorts.

● Alex Northwick's death will lead to Cecilia Reyes "Forcefield" from the X-men to take his spot. I may work in them being related, but probably not. I'll leave that up to feedback.

● Robbie will have moved from Hillrock Heights to Boyle Heights, using the Agents of Shield locations as points of reference. He will still work for Canelo during some of his time off from the station and take up a job at El Monte Junk and Salvage as Canelo owns it too, and it's close to home. This move will but Robbie closer to the Angeles National Forest and a block away from Evergreen Cementary (where Eli was buried)

● Gabe will be starting high school at this point in the timeline and will be dating Charlene Ocampo (see Ghost Rider Valentines Day Special)

● Robbie will be assigned to Engine. He will baby/clean/maintain the apparatus as he does the Hell Charger. With being assigned to Engine will mean he'll be going in fires and have to do his best to act "human" and not go into situations his powers would protect him from.

● Background characters will be pulled from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., 9-1-1 and the Dick Wolf universe.

💃😭I think about those old headcanons so often; I'm sorry for taking like two weeks to answer this; I've been simmering on so many details.

For reference: Ye Ole Food Headcanons for Robby and Rhett (It's longer than you think it is.)

Breakfast and lunch are treated more as "eat when you're hungry" rather than set times where everyone has to cook and sit down together. With how Rhett eats like a bird and Bobby's schedule tends to be a bit unpredictable, it's just easier to make yourself something when you're hungry.

However, dinner gets a big emphasis. Not only is it the time Rhett's capable of eating more than a bag of sunflower seeds, but he and Robby are almost guaranteed to be home. It's a whole production. As soon as Bob's on his way home, he's making a phone call to figure out what the plan is.

Does he need to stop and pick up takeout? Are they in the mood for cooking at home? Did Rhett remember to get eggs from that little farmer's market by his work? Or does someone need to make a grocery stop? Are we absolutely sure the milk isn't expired this time?

Rhett and Bob mutually scared each other at first 😭

In the beginning, Robby absolutely tried to downplay how much food he can eat by himself. Nothing can convince me otherwise 💃 To him, there's nothing more awkward than asking to order a second plate of food when the rest of the table is done and ready to go 😭

But there comes a day when he's fresh out of a deployment, and between exhaustion and how much he's missed "normal" food, caution is thrown to the wind.

The Reader probably isn't surprised until the second slice of hot fudge cake comes along, and the waitress takes the opportunity to pick up all the empty plates before she goes back. There are just...so many plates...all for one man...

They start keeping track of how much he eats simply out of curiosity. So far, his best records are before and after deployments. Those ships just ain't made for a man who can and will eat you out of house and home without breaking a sweat.

Rhett's got an ongoing joke that in the event of them running out of food, Robby's going to eat both of them before the first day is over.

That joke occasionally gets him bit.

Meanwhile, Robby spent several nights wondering how the hell Rhett can manage working on a ranch with that diet. He does three times the amount of manual labor Bob does in a day, and yet he eats so? so? little? He makes breakfast for all three of them once, and the best Rhett can do is entertain him by eating a few pieces of bacon.

There's an instance where he gently asks Rhett if it's a money issue or if there's an underlying issue he's dealing with because he's never seen someone eat so little. Cue a meek cowboy explaining that he's just...not hungry. He says that as he reopens a bag of stale Funyuns 🤦‍♀️

However! The Reader accidentally discovers a loophole.

While Rhett isn't one for eating three full meals a day, he is always one for trying bites of whatever you happen to be eating. It starts with him meekly asking for a bite of a pretzel the Reader got at a concession stand and slowly becomes a thing where Robby and Reader use his grazing habits to their advantage. Especially Robby. Goes as far as to order different things because that means he can get Rhett to eat a little more than he would otherwise.

Neither is above cutting off a piece of food with a fork and holding it out for Rhett like he's their fussy six-year-old.

Aside from that, there's a general effort to supply him with snacks that aren't straight off a store shelf. Fruit, homemade trail mix, hard-boiled eggs, anything small that you can shove into an inconspicuous lunch box. When they're apart, it's harder because Rhett just...forgets...but they've managed to get him hooked on making his own trail mix.

When it comes to Cecilia's cooking...Rhett eats food from the gas station for a reason. Bob can eat anything and everything; her food does not phase him in the slightest. If Reader likes food primarily cooked in crock pots, overcooked meat, and inconsistent seasoning, then they'll have a great time!

Strangely, she's very good with desserts. Her peach cobbler has won awards at the county fair, and that honeybun cake recipe has been passed down for generations for a reason.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if the Reader can't cook when they meet Rhett and Bob, then they'll inevitably learn. Bob's a good teacher, and while there's a mutual effort from both men to help with dinner, the Reader is usually home way before they are. It's a responsibility they wind up with either way.

The current obsession in this house? Red Beans and Rice ✨ specifically from a recipe passed down from Bob's momma herself.

If he's got a day off, Robby can happily spend a whole day in the kitchen. The current favorite dish isn't so much a dish as it is a whole meal; Buttermilk Fried Chicken, homemade mashed potatoes, and fried okra. He can also be trusted with the ol' chicken and dumplings 💕

Unlike Cecelia's, Bob's mashed potatoes are guaranteed not to...stand up on their own...

...still side-eyeing the way they were...kind of curling on the plate...

Rhett absolutely has a sweet tooth, and I will die on this hill. Coffee that's borderline creamer, milk, and sugar with a side of actual coffee, cheap candy from the local convenience store, his momma's desserts...it can go on forever. It's half the reason Bob calls him Sugar.

Bob and Reader are your average sugar lovers when compared to the fool. There has been an instance where drunk!Rhett brought himself to tears because of course sober!Rhett ate the last damn donut. He can and will sleepwalk to the cabinet as well.

It's horrifying.

He acts perfectly normal. Eyes open, walking normally, munching on something sugary he found. The only way to tell is by asking him a question; if he's asleep, he smiles and doesn't respond.

Please be aware that by handing him your sweet treat, you will never see it again.

The door to the balcony flung open, and Olive knew who was there without looking. This balcony wasn't necessarily theirs — the guys would routinely come out here to pester them, after all, and St. Cecilia would join them when visiting Mordhaus — but they were the ones out here the most. With a huff of frustration, Robin wordlessly climbed up onto the ledge next to Olive, cigarette pack in hand as she crossed her legs on the stone wall. Flicking her lighter a few times, she began to curse, irritation mounting.

“Oh, come on, you goddamn stupid little shithead piece of mother fucking hot garba– oh. Thanks.”

Robin's tirade at the small plastic Bic — swiped from Skwisgaar who had swiped it from Pickles before that, the corner crusted with resin — was cut off as Olive extended her arm with Zippo in hand, flame lit and ready. Robin leaned forward with a gentle flush to light the cigarette in her mouth, the action feeling entirely too intimate for what it was, immediately calming as smoke filled her lungs.

“You're welcome. Bad day?”

“Something like that…” Robin trailed off with a sigh. She didn't want to get into it, to talk about how the anniversary of that was coming up, how it made everything so much more difficult to deal with — the stress of the job more fraying, the guys more irritating, interpersonal relationships more complicated. Instead, she merely said, “...just a rough patch. I haven't been taking my multivitamin.”

“Uh-huh,” Olive raised a brow, exhaling a cloud of smoke as dark eyes narrowed in knowing suspicion at her companion. Chewing at her gum thoughtfully, she kicked the heels of her boots against the stone wall, feet dangling over the edge in a way that Pickles always nagged her over.

Hm. Robin was normally a much better liar than that.

“Want me to run some labs on you? There's a lot of vitamin deficiencies that could be causing a dip in mood. You know, a vitamin D deficiency can caus-”

Glancing to the other woman out of the corner of her eye, a small grin curled Robin's lips as Olive rambled, only growing when the other woman somehow ended up on a tangent about Rickets in Victorian England, sucking down a second cigarette as she listened.

“-anyway,” inhaling a breath, embarrassment heated Olive’s cheeks as she wrapped up her monologue, reeling herself back in, “yeah. We can swing by the medical wing later.”

“...okay.” Robin's grin was sticking, stretching her cheeks, now, amused. It had just been a quick little white lie, but… it was nice that she cared, “Yeah, sure. Why the hell not, doctor?”

Mouth going dry at her inflection, Olive bit her lip, averting her eyes out to the horizon, “Um, yeah. Cool.”

Robin grinned smugly — another point for her.

“Yeah. Cool.”

Silence settled over the pair, long, curling tendrils of wispy white smoke billowing in the breeze as the early twinkles of starlight began to dot the purpled sky. Orange heated the horizon as the sun clung to the earth, its clutches slipping into pink as the sky rose.

“Robbi, you know you can talk about it… right?” Olive's voice was soft, barely above a whisper, as if speaking any louder may scare the other woman off.

Hell, Robin thought, she may be right.

“Yeah… yeah. I know.” Robin kept her own voice low to match, tamping out her cigarette on the stone and carelessly tossing the butt over the edge, watching it fall to depths she couldn't see.

“Need me to kick anyone's ass? Maim someone? Kill? Decapitate, perhaps? You know that's my favorite.”

Robin laughed, a bit strained and a bit listless, but still a laugh, all the same, “Not this time. I'll take a rain check, though? May come in handy.”

“Of course. What are friends for, if not for delivering severed heads on silver platters when the other has been wronged?”

The sentiment wormed into Robin's chest, inspiring complicated emotions. The air was crisp in her lungs as she closed her eyes, inhaling a deep, slow breath, a gust of wind chilling her despite her blazer.

And then, there was warm.

A hand, small and soft, gently grasping her own, snaking their fingers together. As Robin turned, lips met hers, soft and pillowy, Robin's face heating as she returned the kiss, cupping Olive's face in her hand and parting her lips to sneak her tongue into the other woman's mouth. Their lips met again and again until Robin was left with a big, genuine smile as they parted, face softly flushed, eyes hooded and playful as she chewed the gum in her mouth.

It took a moment, but the dark eyes mirrored back at her soon switched from being clouded in want to narrowed in accusation, the hot flush on Olive's cheeks only adding to the cuteness of the expression.

“Hey! That was my last piece!”

Unable to resist, Robin pinched her cheek before hopping down and sauntering off, laugh shaping her words as she turned back, hand on the door handle, “Shut up. I'll buy you another pack.”

“I brought your favorite sandwiches.”

He continued, pulling out a perfectly wrapped sandwich along with some fresh strawberries, their red hues a delectable contrast to the green around you.

He suggested, his ocean eyes sparkling, and you couldn't help but lean in closer, curiosity piqued.

“What kind of contest?”

You asked hesitantly, your shyness bubbling beneath the surface.

“The first one to turn the other into a blushing mess has to eat the last strawberry no matter how full…”

He trailed off, a sly grin spreading across his face.

“What do you say?”

“Fine, but I warn you, I’m really good at this!”

Your heart raced with the thrill of the challenge, eager to keep the atmosphere light and fun.

With that, Robbie leaned in close, his blue eyes practically twinkling. He whispered sweet nothings that sent shivers down your spine, each word laced with a warmth that made your nerves dance.

You blurted out, your face burning with embarrassment.

“I thought we were supposed to be challenging each other?”

He leaned back, feigning innocence, and the laughter danced between you, composing a sweet symphony wrapped in the warmth of the afternoon.

The two of you spent hours talking about everything and nothing, time slipping away like grains of sand.

You shared stories, laughter bouncing off the trees, and the sweet touches became more frequent—small nudges and fleeting hand-holding that sent butterflies raging in your stomach.

“All the time..”

He replied, his tone thoughtful as he propped himself on his elbow to face you.

“Especially now. I get to share it with someone special like you.”

The intimacy of the moment made your heart swell, and you felt brave enough to meet his gaze, holding it as if it was the most precious thing.

As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, casting a golden glow all around, you turned your head toward him.

“Robbie..”

You breathed out, your voice barely above a whisper. You felt brave for a moment.

"Did you know your freckles are like your own private constellation?”

His lips curved into an endearing smile, and he brushed his fingers against your cheek, the warmth taking your breath away.

“I never thought about it like that- but if you’re the one to help me see them, then I’ll hold on to that forever.”

His voice was soft, sincere, wrapping you in warmth.

The moment lingered, your hearts dancing in the silence. Then, as if drawn together by an irresistible force, you both leaned in, your breaths mingling with the sweet fragrance of the nearby flowers. The world around melted away in that single heartbeat, and as you shared a kiss, everything felt perfect. His soft, rosy lips moving on yours, his kisses sweet like strawberries.

When you finally pulled away, both of you wore shy but triumphant smiles, your hearts in sync, blooming just like the flowers around you- fragile yet brimming with potential.

Alright, so

(Back at it again with me ranting about a movie I watched and how marauders era- or tma this one wasn’t- characters fit in!)

Now, if you don’t know this:

Sorry you have to scroll down to see- but the andromeda fan cast I have come to know as the most popular is Keira Knightley’s character Cecilia in Atonement-

The story !spoilers! Is about Briony Tallis, her sister Cecilia and Robbie Turner and the unfortunate events that happen within a few shorts years. Briony is given a note by Robbie to give to Cecilia that is very lewd and she reads it before giving it to her sister- then later the same day she finds them in the library having s//x… then even later Briony finds her cousin being r//ed by a man says it’s Robbie for some godaweful reason because I suspect she’s jealous- and then he gets imprisoned even though he did nothing wrong, he joins the war(the beginning events all happened sometime in 1939 I believe.) because he could do that or rot in prison- then he tries getting back to his love Cecilia but never does- he dies- Cecilia broke from her family who had forsaken her lover and joined the nursing staff for the military, and died in a bomb shelter that was flooded. Briony, after the war starts doesn’t go to Cambridge but instead joins the nursing staff like her sister, she hopes to own up for her mistakes, but never does… she never gets to say sorry for what she did- it’s all very depressing. But it’s the reason the movie is called atonement- the definition for “atonement” is reparation for a wrong(or injury)- if you don’t know what reparation means, it’s basically just making amends.

Now, knowing that this was the fancast for Andy- I’ve been thinking since we finished the movie(my family and I), that it kinda fits her narrative canonically. Take out the umm- sexual part and it makes sense.

Narcissa(Briony) catches Andromeda(Cecilia) and Ted(Robbie) together and tells her family about it in a state of worry for her sister’s happiness and health. Andromeda runs away from her family, angry at Narcissa for exposing her before she herself could properly introduce her love, and leaves with Ted. In the end they are both killed by Deatheaters and Narcissa has to pay for the death of her sister, watching from the sidelines.

(I forgot to mention) In the movie, Briony goes to visit Cecilia and say her apologies and clear the air because she misses her sister quite a lot, she goes it doesn’t really go easy because- what she did was very wrong- but Robbie turns out to be there, and yells at briony, Briony confesses what she really saw(an important plot point of you watch the movie, I don’t care to say it here) and then she leaves saying she’d tell the truth to everyone she had lied to.

It turns out this was all a lie- One Briony(I forgot to mention she’s a writer, she writes plays and novels) falsified to give her sister and Robbie a better outcome: because in real life, Robbie died waiting for transport back to England, and Cecilia died(as I said) in a flooded bomb shelter. In her fictional world of the book she wrote, they live happily ever after in a cottage by the sea.

I like to think Narcissa was a writer when she was younger, she’d use her own stories to escape the hell hole she lived in. And I like to put that in retrospective to this story- her writing Andy and Ted a nice ending because they had such a horrible one.
