Good afternoon, everyone! Today, I'm diving deeper into character development, focusing on the complex journey of Bianca Moore while working on the outline of Blood & Stardust. Bianca is a character whose journey is defined by trauma, love, and ambition. Born from the assault of an archangel by a demon, Bianca's path is marked by pain, betrayal, and a deep soul-bond with Sephiroth that drives her towards her ultimate goal -- resetting the omniverse.
Through her bond with Sephiroth, Bianca's evolution reveals themes of obsession, morality, and a sense of self. Follow along as I unravel her layers and share her character development.
Content Warnings: abuse, annihilation, child harm (implied), cognitive dissonance, corruption, death, destruction, emotional manipulation, loss of innocence, moral conflict, psychological trauma, sacrifice, suffering, trauma, utilitarianism, violence
source: imbd
Despite her descent into darkness and the intense influence of her love for Sephiroth, Bianca adheres to a strict personal code that reflects her complex moral landscape. One unwavering boundary is her refusal to harm babies or children. She sees them as an embodiment of innocence, as they are often untouched by the corruption and cruelty of the world. In her view, children represent the potential for purity and hope, something she believes was stripped from her at a young age. This perspective is deeply rooted in her own tragic past, where she experienced the harsh loss of her adoptive mother when she was ten.
However, Bianca’s perspective shifts when it comes to preteens and older individuals. She believes that by this stage, they have begun making choices that define their moral character and accountability. In her eyes, the loss of innocence starts here, where they are no longer purely victims of circumstance but active participants in shaping their fate. This distinction reflects her harsh, almost utilitarian view of morality: individuals who have chosen a path of betrayal must face the consequences of their actions, regardless of their age. This mindset serves to justify many of her actions, as she sees her mission with Sephiroth not as indiscriminate destruction, but as a calculated purge of those she deems unworthy or complicit in the world’s (and the omniverse’s) corruption: the purge of the beings who have harmed her.
Bianca’s grand plan to erase angels, demons, and humanity from the omniverse is driven by a vision of complete annihilation and rebirth—a purging of all corrupted forces to pave the way for a new existence. However, the fate of children and babies within this vision presents a moral conflict she must confront and compartmentalize. To rationalize their deaths, Bianca tells herself that children, though innocent, are part of a broken system destined to perpetuate the same cycles of suffering and corruption. She views their sacrifice as a tragic but necessary step toward eradicating a flawed reality. In her mind, true mercy lies in sparing them from the inevitable pain and darkness of the world, granting them release from the cycle before it fully taints them.
When faced with the devastating impact of Meteor, knowing it will claim the lives of countless innocents, Bianca distances herself emotionally by focusing on the larger picture. She convinces herself that their deaths are part of a cosmic reset, an essential component of creating a purified world and eventually the Promised Land alongside Sephiroth. This cognitive dissonance allows her to compartmentalize the horror of their loss, framing it as an act of salvation rather than destruction. In her mind, the end justifies the means, and she clings to the belief that a world reborn without angels, demons, or flawed humanity will ultimately honor their memory by preventing future suffering of people like she and Sephiroth.
At her core, Bianca’s ethical boundaries are a reflection of her inner conflict. She embodies both light and darkness, constantly struggling to reconcile her celestial heritage with her demonic urges. Her refusal to harm children highlights the last remnants of her compassion and empathy, a part of herself that she can’t extinguish. It’s a silent reminder of her own lost innocence, and an unspoken promise that she will not become like the other monsters of Fantasy Worlds Collide, particularly Asmodeus and Ravenscroft and Hojo. Even in her darkest moments, this line remains sacred, a testament to the fragments of light that still exist within her fractured soul: even if she embraces chaos and has fallen from Grace.

MUKAMI HOUSEHOLD HC’S
A/n: Long time no see!! Work and life got super crazy but I’ve been indulging in Diabolik Lovers again! Alongside that! For a few months I’ve been rewriting DL (more like my own au!!) just small tweaks and adding more realistic characterizations to characters I enjoy! So I decided to make a list of my headcanons for the Mukami household + Yui (she’s my beauty)
TW: slight mention and hint at abuse, mention of sexual abuse, mention of animal death
Take all of these at face value I’ve done my research to the best of my abilities and are basing this off of the things I’ve read, played, and watched! Plus my own little personal things!
- A quieter household. Each brother seems to have their own hobbies and tends to stick to themselves. This doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy each others company, they seem like the only group to like REALLY enjoy being around each other. Brother banter and all that nonsense.
- isn’t the safest but compared to the Sakamaki household Yui is in less danger. She actually spends more time pursuing schooling and smaller hobbies here without much backlash. Yuma and her garden often and Ruki helps her study. But of course this kinda stuff is paid back in blood so, you win some loose some
- Yuma will tease all 3 brothers for their height, I believe this may be canon? But it’s really Kou he has spats with over their heights. As an idol Kou is notoriously over dramatic and borderline narcissistic (and very full of himself) so he’s kinda pissy Yuma hangs his height over his head, but it’s all in good fun! (Usually)
-Yui and Ruki don’t really get along in the beginning. Which duh, but after a long period of time Yui began to get annoyed with being bossed around? I mean I would to, so he kinda grossed her out. Too much like an Ayato Reiji mix
- it’s mentioned either that in a CD or clip from more blood (the game) that Yui housed a kitten and was healing it back to health and Ruki killed it. This also kinda solidified their relationship into not being great. Yui believes very strongly in her morals and Ruki is one to oppose them. Meaning that in her eyes he’s cruel and in his she’s weak.
- Azusa is super interested in religions. Not like in them but he thinks the rules and regulations are kinda interesting to look into, he asks Yui a lot of questions about her faith and what it means to her.
- Yuma and Yui get along the best, the brothers were once human and I feel like don’t lack empathy to the extent pure bloods do. Course they will make comments that have Yui going “???” Because they are still entitled vampires
- The kinda group to have annoying ass orders at cafes. They don’t go out as a group much but when they get the chance they do. So when Yui joined she tagged along (of course they were like helicopter parents). Kou wants something sweet all the time so it’s either a milkshake/frappe nonsense, Ruki is the one who makes in super obvious he “just wants a black coffee. Black, no sugar or cream”, now Azusa’s order isn’t hard but he’s so quiet that it’s hard to catch it all so it’s usually made wrong on accident. Yuma sticks to the same thing but it’s a coffee with like 13 different steps that by the end it’s like a concoction of sugar, cream, flavoring, and coffee.
- Yui has an easy order, usually a tea. She avoids most coffee’s due to her sleep already being out of whack
- Yui has nightmares often due to the abuse she’s faced and she’s semi opened up to Azusa abt them in passing but tends to shut it down if pried.
- Ruki is stressed almost always. With the stress of being Adam kinda solely falling on his shoulders he doesn’t sleep often or even at all.
- this is supposedly canon but, Yuma likes bigger curvy girls in my mind :3
- Kou likes Kesha, Megan, and other female rap/pop artists. I also feel like Yui also dabbles with that kinda music but it isn’t her favorite
- Yuma’s the kinda brother that gives his brothers the faulty gaming controller :/
- Yuma and Kou smoke weed 100% idk I feel like they’d enjoy it, Ruki has a few times but usually just tells them off. Azusa has zero interest, Yui also has dabbled and she enjoyed it but getting high with like supernatural creatures can be… anxiety inducing?
- Ruki seems like one of those kids who’d have a super non trad kinda pet? Idk a snake or something. Not messy, loud, and chill
- Kou seems like the type to be sex repulsed often? He’s an idol and gets sexualized a lot in the limelight so bad correlation but even if he hates it he still does it to Yui
- Yui also is very sex repulsed
- yuma has a hard time coming to terms with his past with Shuu? It’s a weird grief thingy
- I feel like sometimes, only sometimes, they miss being human. I believe it’s semi mentioned already. But I feel like when Yui started living with them they started noticing that feeling more in an angry/sad way.

How to be anti capitalist and still invest in the stock market?
The Socially Conscious Mustachians group on Facebook is a great place to turn to, if you want to speak with other people contemplating these questions. There are some forums on the Mr Money Mustache site where people explore alternate options too.And I suppose I should mention that there are index funds that purposefully exclude stock in firearms, tobacco, fossil fuels, and other especially morally galling industries.
Personally, I wouldn't pretend that any investment method can be moral. Holding onto any resources within the imperial core is arguably immoral. I think if you've been around here a while, you might have noticed that my lens of analysis is not one of personal moralization. If someone thinks that me saving for an early retirement is immoral, I can't necessarily disagree with their value judgement, I certainly see the basis of it. My viewpoint is that not being dependent upon an employer for a wage means I can be far more selective in how I spend my time, and not take work that I view as morally compromising, and live more in alignment with my values in a variety of other ways while surviving as a disabled person and supporting my friends from time to time, none of which would be possible if I was dependent upon a full-time wage. But I can see why others would disagree. I would certainly welcome the collapse of capitalist society and lose all my savings if it meant not having to make these awful choices.
If you wish to invest without putting money in the stock market for moral reasons, then investing in a money market is really the only way to go. Bonds and CDs loan money to a genocidal government; investing in the stock market fuels (and allows you to profit from) capitalism. If you can find a banking institution or credit union that does not invest in oil pipelines and political lobbies and keep your money in a high-yield savings with them, that's the simplest, best, and likely more secure way to go.

september positivity✮
welcome to month two of the positivity assignment from my psychologist - i'm determined to keep doing this, so here we are!! last months improvement goal was to focus on achieving goals i set for myself - such as writing, schoolwork, or lacrosse trainings. i managed to maintain that, and to keep up with all three things! my achievement goal was 20k of creative writing across the month - in the end my august word count was nearly 24k!!! well and truly hit that goal. my self care goal was to try and get 6+ hours of sleep every night, and i didn't do that (at ALL) so that goal will make a reappearance this month!!
what were the highlights for last month? ✮ the highlights were probably playing laser tag with people from my lacrosse club, my school camp, and meeting my new state team manager!! also the noah kahan and niall horan live albums which were absolutely brilliant!!!! and i bought lots of cds!!! what did i learn from the last month? ✮ i learned that sometimes you don't share morals with people, and that's okay, but you do have to let them go. because you can't hold onto someone who doesn't share your values and goals. what can i improve this month? ✮ this month i want to improve on researching for my writing, specifically medical topics - i think it will improve my narratives and make my descriptions stronger + more accurate!! what do i want to achieve this month? ✮ following on from last months success, this september i'm aiming to write 30k words of fics - a high bar but i think i can do it!! i'm also aiming to score at least two crossover shots at state lacrosse trainings this month. what is one thing i'm looking forward to this month? ✮ i'm super duper looking forward to my state lacrosse uniform which is arriving this month, and i'm also hype for the new seasons of 911 and lone star!! and also my louis tomlinson LIVE cd and tshirt are coming this month!!! what is one thing i can do for myself this month? ✮ after i failed last month, i'm going to try again to sleep 6+ hours every single night this month. i'm also going to aim to carry a water bottle with me every day, and drink the entire thing between when i get up and when i go to bed. what is one quote that i want to carry with me this month? ✮ "i sleep through the night, and i go where i'm wanted, and i don't need your light to be lit" - maisie peters, there it goes. to remind me that i'm a whole person with or without a relationship, and i don't need someone who drags me down and makes me feel like shit.
a little september moodboard✮:

PICREW + ALIGNMENT TEST (tagged by @josephseedismyfather)
Thank you for the tag!
Picrew: https://picrew.me/share?cd=brz4HjOP8k
ALIGNMENT: https://easydamus.com/alignment.html
ANNIKA VORONOVA (pre-Bell + Nuke ending)
CHAOTIC EVIL, “DESTORYER”
“A chaotic evil character does whatever his greed, hatred, and lust for destruction drive him to do. He is hot-tempered, vicious, arbitrarily violent, and unpredictable. If he is simply out for whatever he can get, he is ruthless and brutal. If he is committed to the spread of evil and chaos, he is even worse. Thankfully, his plans are haphazard, and any groups he joins or forms are poorly organized. Typically, chaotic evil people can be made to work together only by force, and their leader lasts only as long as he can thwart attempts to topple or assassinate him.
Chaotic evil is sometimes called "demonic" because demons are the epitome of chaotic evil.
Chaotic evil beings believe their alignment is the best because it combines self-interest and pure freedom.
Chaotic evil is the most dangerous alignment because it represents the destruction not only of beauty and life but also of the order on which beauty and life depend.”
OZ CLANCY
Chaotic Neutral, "Free Spirit"
“A chaotic neutral character follows his whims. He is an individualist first and last. He values his own liberty but doesn't strive to protect others' freedom. He avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges traditions. A chaotic neutral character does not intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy. To do so, he would have to be motivated either by good (and a desire to liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make those different from himself suffer). A chaotic neutral character may be unpredictable, but his behavior is not totally random. He is not as likely to jump off a bridge as to cross it.”
DR. ABBEY FOSTER
Neutral Good,"Benefactor"
“A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them.
Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order.
Neutral good can be a dangerous alignment when it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.”
NIKOLAI “WIDOW” VORONOV
Lawful Evil, "Dominator"
(FUCK FORGOT TO CHANGE THE BACKGROUND. Oh well, I accidentally made him pan now)
“A lawful evil villain methodically takes what he wants within the limits of his code of conduct without regard for whom it hurts. He cares about tradition, loyalty, and order but not about freedom, dignity, or life. He plays by the rules but without mercy or compassion. He is comfortable in a hierarchy and would like to rule, but is willing to serve. He condemns others not according to their actions but according to race, religion, homeland, or social rank. He is loath to break laws or promises.
This reluctance comes partly from his nature and partly because he depends on order to protect himself from those who oppose him on moral grounds. Some lawful evil villains have particular taboos, such as not killing in cold blood (but having underlings do it) or not letting children come to harm (if it can be helped). They imagine that these compunctions put them above unprincipled villains.
Some lawful evil people and creatures commit themselves to evil with a zeal like that of a crusader committed to good. Beyond being willing to hurt others for their own ends, they take pleasure in spreading evil as an end unto itself. They may also see doing evil as part of a duty to an evil deity or master.
Lawful evil is sometimes called "diabolical," because devils are the epitome of lawful evil.
Lawful evil creatures consider their alignment to be the best because it combines honor with a dedicated self-interest.
Lawful evil is the most dangerous alignment because it represents methodical, intentional, and frequently successful evil.”
GUINEVERE FOSTER (1950s)
Lawful Neutral, "Judge"
A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs her. Order and organization are paramount to her. She may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or she may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government.
Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot.
Lawful neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it seeks to eliminate all freedom, choice, and diversity in society.

When I was a kid I used to love Britney Spears. Her music videos fascinated me - they were colourful and they seemed to have a story to tell, so I adored watching them and making up my own stories that went along with what was happening on the screen. I didn't know English back then at all, so I didn't understand a word, but her songs brought me joy and I adored her.
When I got a bit older, around maybe 8 or 9, it turned out that liking Britney Spears is BAD TM. Because she is a stupid blonde, you see. My parents told me I was too smart to listen to trashy pop. They helped me get the CDs, yes, but they were always given to me with a 'eh, I hope you will grow out of it soon'. I was a smart kid, I shouldn't listen to stupid things.
My peers also mocked Britney, telling me all the other artists that were better to listen to, like Christina Aguilera. She was the smart, edgy blonde, so if I had to listen to silly songs, then I could at least pick a more mature, better option.
There were other artists I listened to, of course, it's not like Britney was the only one that spoke to me, but when I learned English enough to understand what the songs were about, I grew to like them more - the songs about trying to be your own person, about not accepting what other people tell you you should be. About parents deciding what you should do and like. They resonated with me, even though I was 'too smart' for that sort of music.
As most kids do, I started to hide it. When I was 10, maybe 11, I made a very good impression of being over it. I listened to Rammstein now, sometimes to Linkin Park. It was much better, according to many.
My dad told me he was proud of me when I told him I enjoyed Sabaton. "Finally, you grew out of your stupid era!"
I was sufficiently shamed by that point to never mention my Britney Spears phase. It was the butt of jokes at family dinners still, because it was such a funny thing for a kid to like silly music. Now that the kid was over it, we should mock it as viciously as possible. Just in case said kid wants to revert to the old ways.
To be completely honest, I copied that approach - my victim of choice was Adele. It was in high school already, and I absolutely abhorred her songs. I found them whiny, overhyped, unnecessarily tearful and man-oriented, they all sounded the same to my ears, so whenever someone said that their favourite song was something of Adele's, my first thought was 'but you are smart? Why her?'
Fast-forward to now, and with Britney Spears's book released, it turns out that listening to her is okay now. It's feminist. It's fine and even good to say outright that you are a fan. Because she is a victim of abuse now, so it's fine and morally correct to like her. Her songs and lyrics have value now. Curious.
The thing is, I truly did grow out from my Britney phase. I retain some sentiment for a few songs, but either it's simply not who I am anymore, or I successfully eradicated my interest in her to stop feeling ashamed whenever her name comes up in a conversation. Doesn't matter which one it is, the effect is the same.
However, now I am old enough to see that what was done to my Britney phase, I applied to other singers - Adele, Billie Eilish, to name a few. There is always a woman singer to hate, someone whose lyrics and music "you are too smart to enjoy".
There is no real take away from it really, all of that are just musings born out of an idle mind, but now I believe that songs are a bit like poetry - you either connect with it or you don't, either it touches you or it doesn't. One person will see themselves in Adele, someone else will find themselves mirrored in Billie Eilish, someone else feels seen whenever they listen to Mitski. It's a universal feeling we all experience, to like a song and think 'wow, this speaks to me!', we all just have different tastes and different experiences.
I just know that right now, I no longer want to be the person who says 'I thought you were smarter than this?' whenever someone shares their favourites.

Remember that timeline convo between Amane and Kotoko, where Amane thanked her for not treating her as a child and that she’s not so scary, to which Kotoko responded, “Why would I treat you as a child? I still am the person I was at 12. Also, you’re not so great, suck on that B-.”
Because Pepperidge Farm remembers.
That said, God, I really thought it was some strand of leftover moral keeping her from attacking Amane, not a lack of opportunity.
I remember it sooooo well. That interaction lives in my head rent free!
20/06/18
Amane: Thank you very much for teaching me. ……but, though I realise it’s strange me saying this after I asked you, I must admit it’s kind of unexpected. You give off the impression of someone who wouldn’t want to get involved in things like this. Kotoko: ……well, you’re not wrong. I’m surrounded by people who could all be murderers, so I don’t plan on going out of my way to talk and make friends. I can’t let my guard down. But I like ambitious people like you. If you want to study more, then I’m happy to teach. Amane: I see…… You look scary at first impression, but I quite like the way you treat everyone equally regardless of whether they’re older or younger than you. You don’t just treat me like a child or anything like that. Kotoko: Treat you like a child? Hah, you’ve got to be kidding. Back when I was your age, I was already the person I am today. I don’t have any plans to let you get away with something just “because you’re a child.” ……remember that. There, I’ve finished marking. 83%.How do I put it… Even though you act like this, it’s not like you’re super brilliant at studying or anything, huh.
Kotoko really said in that voice drama if it wasn't for Kazui interferring and Mikoto taking so long to fight she would have jumped that kid. She has always and will forever be about it. When she said remember that she meant that shit.
This is the perfect example of the phrase when people tell you who they are believe them.
Don't give them a defense, don't say you're probably overexagerating, you probably have poor self-esteem. We can unpack that after taking they asses at face value. In order to fix an issue one first has to accepts an issue exists.
Definitely puts all those injured children throughout Harrow in a new light. Especially given her focus in the voice drama of others not being able to do what it takes to actually implement change. People were really like it can't be that bad and Kotoko barged in cd drop like,
"Ha; it's gonna be worse! SO, STUPID WEAKLINGS LIKE YOU ALL SHOULD JUST SHUT UP AN LET ME PROTECT YOU! You're way too soft- What were you thinking that you could make friends?! That these people would change if you were nice and understanding enough. That we'd all hold hands and laught together if you just forgave us? You're far too kind- AND NAIEVE! What next are you just going to forgive them because they're attractive? You need me to do the things that need to be done that you yourself clearly can't do. That's what cooperation is."
It's been amazing because she came in last part of trial two and really gave the audience and Es a kick to the face for all our behavior up until now. Like it's the biggest fuck all of you of trial two. Honestly she kept hitting she did not miss. Not one fucking time. She held that mirror up and shouted at that bitch until it cracked.
Ooooo, boy....
I was not expecting to come out of her voice drama like well now hold on she's a bit wild, a tad unhigned, definitely unforgivable to some, but um she's speaking some truths. There's some truths there that a lot of people who participate in Milgram are not going to like to hear but need to hear regardless.
It was so satisfying to see. Especially after everything this trial. It was just perfect actually after everything we've been through and the logic we've all seen. That- Yeah we deserve to get to sit with that for a bit.

Daily Devotionals for August 5, 2024 Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living Devotional Scripture: Proverbs 22:5-6 (KJV): 5 Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them. 6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:5-6 (AMP): 5 Thorns and snares are in the way of the obstinate and willful; he who guards himself will be far from them. 6 Train up a child in the way he should go (and in keeping with his individual gift or bent), and when he is old he will not depart from it. Thought for the Day Verse 5 - The forward (rebellious) person will end up on a path that is hedged in with thorns and snares. Many young people reject or ignore the advice of their parents and elders to their own hurt, learning everything the hard way. That way of living is like walking at night down a path full of holes that is overgrown with thorny bushes, and without a guiding light. Young people who love the Lord and have respect for authorities will "keep" or "guard" their souls. Those who are chaste and keep their virginity escape the ravages of sexually transmitted diseases and scarred emotions. When they meet their mates, their paths can begin together without the snares of pain and guilt because they have no past sexual sins to mar their relationship. Verse 6 - We are told in this verse to "train" our children in the Lord. Many parents grieve over children who have gone astray from Christian teachings. They wonder why they do not walk in what they were taught. One possible reason is that they were not trained to walk in God's ways, but only "told" about the things of God. There is a big difference between teaching and training. Parents must help their children find the right path through teaching (giving information); and then help them stay on the right path through training (integrating the teaching into the lifestyle); third, pray and ask the Lord to help them recognize their children's God-given gifts and direct them into the callings He has for them. Training involves enforcing and reinforcing what is taught and requires discipline, diligence, and commitment from parents. When parents abdicate the position of a mentor, their children derive their values from the world; from humanistic teachers in public schools, from babysitters, secular movies, videos, CDs, games, books, magazines, and last but not least, their own peers. The Bible commands children to obey their parents in all things if they want to please the Lord. (Of course, this means in all moral and right things. Some corrupt parents would ask their children to do evil things, and a child should not obey those things.) Parents are also told not to provoke their children to anger, and thereby discourage them. Parents are to be kind and good to their children, since the Lord is kind and good to us, His spiritual children. "Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged" (Colossians 3:20-21). If we call on Him, He will give us the wisdom, love, and patience to raise our children properly even in a wicked world, so that when they are grown, they will not depart from God's ways. Prayer Devotional for the Day Dear heavenly Father, we thank You for all You have done for our children and grandchildren. Lord, we are grateful that they all know You. It was Your love and grace that made that possible. Lord, we do pray that You keep each of them in Your Hand and keep them from the evil influences in this world. Help us to continue to be that mentor and model for all of them and most of all, help us to always show love to each of them. Lord, lead each of them into the ministry that You have ordained for them. May they find the right mate, so they can walk together in their life's calling. Protect them all. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

i love the way swifties band together as a community. like don’t get me wrong, the fandoms a hot mess and is awful a lot. but it’s also nice how we’re always there for the other.
like we all are trying to buy tickets or cds to resell at face value to help others, or we trade friendship bracelets at shows, we cheer very loud to help taylor through tough songs
like this fandom is a mess a lot but it’s nice how we have a unspoken moral code between us at times

WHO WANTS TO READ MORE ABOUT HOW THESE IDIOTS RUINED A SATURDAY FOR ME? Keep reading
So as I'm occasionally working on Sonic CD : Static Charge as a break from my commission work, one of the things that kept happening was this idiot getting all sorts of corrupted (even turning invisible!), this was UNIQUE to this badnik, NO OTHER OBJECT WOULD GET THIS CORRUPT!
I was devastated trying to find ANY lead on the corruption, thinking it was a sprite overload for the longest time since... boy there are a lot more objects here than in Sonic CD originally...
So i started dummying out objects left and right, and as it turns out, even with the stage completely devoid of any objects besides these scarab idiots, IT WOULD STILL GLITCH UP IN DEBUG MODE
So I went on a hunt, deleting pieces of code from objects that happened to be nearby until it stoped happening and I figured it out... somehow if ArrayPos0 was pointing at specific objects during specific points, it would glitch it up which made NO SENSE WHATSOEVER! So I set the ArrayPos0 to 0 or subtracted it by 1 and called it good... well, not really...
I wasn't satisfied with this solution, something deeper was going on...
And then I found it, in the Scarab's own unmodified code... this single line.... THIS SINGLE LINE...
GET PROPERTYVALUE FROM OBJECT IN ArrayPos0 AND ADD TO OBJECT'S FRAME
WHO
WHAT
WHY
HOW
SO BASICALLY WHAT ENDED UP HAPPENING, IF A OBJECT NEARBY HAPPENED TO BE USING ArrayPos0 (in this case, the conveyors, debug mode and propellers) IT WOULD TAKE THE PROPERTY VALUE FROM WHATEVER LEFTOVER OBJECT THERE WAS AND ADD TO THE OBJECT'S FRAME
THIS MADE NO SENSE WHATSOEVER
In CD 2011 this isn't a big deal, nothing uses ArrayPos0 outside of the conveyors, but the object that it points to after... in fact, many of the objects in that stage don't have a PropertyValue to begin with...
BUT BOY HOWDY I'M THE KING OF SUBTYPE SHENANIGANS SO THERE'S PLENTY OF OBJECTS GOING TOWARDS 0xFF CASUALLY
So why is it there in the first place? I was wondering that too and I figured it out... these sprites... outlined in red... go completely unused in CD 2011
They're mapped to the object alongside a duplicate of frame 1 but never get used, it looked as if they would've been used when PropertyValue was 4, which is reserved for the Scarab that holds a monitor... but that's not where that's used in the original Sonic CD on the SEGA CD
This is where OG Sonic CD uses it, it's the release frame for when Sonic gets launched.
There is no situation, despite very vulnerable code, where that frame is ever displayed outside of modding. Sonic CD 2011 completely forgot about it.
I decided to bring it back, not as a launch frame but as a pre-launch frame, so the player knows they're about to get released.
Thanks for reading. Moral of the story : When modding, never trust the original code, there's always a dumb edge case that will keep you on edge.

The year is 2005: I was in year 9 in high school and was well into my era of loving crushingly brutal heavy metal, sludge filled grunge and my hidden way underneath a secret love of pure, dumb, bubblegum pop.
Being in a small country town, the only access we had to music was the single record store in town and the local newsagent where I would buy and read music magazines.
I would usually flick through Rolling Stone but it was too mainstream for me at the time (yes, I was obnoxious back then. I'm sorry), I would read the classic rock magazines with the opinion that 'Old Music' is better than new music (I said I'm sorry, ok! I have changed. I promise) but the main magazines I devoured were Kerrang and Metal Hammer, the later being the best value for me because it would include a free CD with each issue and occasionally, on the best days, a DVD filled with new heavy music for me to discover.
The DVD issues were always great because you could watch a huge mix of bands from different genres: Black Metal, Viking metal, Death Metal, Emo/Screamo, which I usually skipped because emo 'wasn't heavy enough' (I should've just done a blanket apology at the start for most of my highschool opinions), and would include live tracks, interviews and music videos.
I forget which specific issue it was but I was working my way through the DVD one day, skipped past a couple of emo songs and then onto the screen of my very old television came this image...
At first I thought it was going to be some black metal band, in Corpse paint, holding some satanic sermon. The song was called Burning Beard by a band called Clutch. That didn't sound heavy. I might skip it. But then, the band appeared...
Clutch? Who's that?
Who were these bunch of Dads?
Then, the there was lyrics...
Every day, I wake up we drink a lot of coffee and watch the CNN
Every day, I wake up to a bowl of clover honey and let the locusts fly in
What? And what the hell was this time signature they were playing in?
Every time I look out my window same three dogs looking back at me
Every time I open my windows cranes fly in to terrorize me
I was puzzled. This band that looked like a bunch of men who got together on the weekend to play a set of covers at the local pub were playing the most exciting thing I had heard since I started buying Metal Hammer. They didn't wear chains, didn't have long hair, weren't screaming, didn't have wild guitar solos... they just fucken rocked. Hard.
The lyrics are still some of the best bits of weird poetry with hidden layers and meanings that I've heard.
Swan diving off the tongues of crippled giants
Okkam's razor makes the cutting clean
I was hooked and had to find out more.
I bought the album Robot Hives, then went back and got Blast Tyrant. Then over the years, Clutch have become one of my favourite bands.
They pulled me out of so many shitty preconceptions I had about music, people and life in general.
Oh this burning beard I have come undone
It's just as I've feared, I have, I have come undone
A decade or so after first hearing them, while hosting my community radio show, I played a Clutch song. The text line lit up with people asking 'who is this? It's great!'. These listeners would then fall in love with the band the same way I did.
I guess the moral of this story is to not judge books by their cover. Enjoy the stuff you like, even if it's not what you have painstakingly engineered your entire personality around. Admit that it's ok to like different things and that your opinion on music is subjective and can also be flat out wrong.
Oh. And go and listen to Clutch.

Hi bestie hope you're doing well
Any new shidou theorys you have?
I'm doing alright for the most part. I hope you've been doing well too. Though @apatchworkstar would be better to go to for Shidou theories. She hit the nail on the head when she said he'd be getting Delusion Tax this trial. My thoughts are scattered across a lot of things right now. Especially when it comes to Milgram.
I had been waiting to see Mahiru's cd art to work out some thoughts when it came to the prisoners' doors. It seems the verdicts impact how immaculate a prisoner's door is. When Futa's door came out i believed that the graffiti on it more represented the victims of his actions and the centered word Pressure was being used to represent the gazes of the audience.
The only things on Futa's door that seem representative of him is the coloring of the word Pressure and the flammable warning label. So, I wanted to see Mahiru's door to see if this would be a consistent thing. Which seems to be the case.
Mahiru's door is pretty but looks to be a place that was abandoned a long time ago. Areas of it appearing stained and rusted over with plants coiling around the entrance. The most interesting thing about Shidou is how his door compares to Mahiru's.
I think the thing that best describes the feeling their doors give me is the quote from the beginning of Pandora Hearts, "Someone once said it was a dark place that swallowed everything up, but it wasn't as if there was never any light there."
If Milgram has compared Mahiru to the sun then Shidou would be the moon and that's perfectly represented when their trial two cd art is shown side by side. Shidou's face is surrounded by a calm pale glow of light remniscent of the certain serenity one would only find during the time of day where yesterday isn't quite yesterday and today has yet to become today.
Just like he says in Throw Down "I don’t feel scared because I don’t know." He's calm because he doesn't know. There's a serenity in ignorance that has been overshadowed by the idea of fearing the unknown. Yet, there are many times in a person's life where they'll find solace in not knowing something because sometimes not knowing something is better than acquainting yourself with it.
Like with Shidou he says, "I finally understand the value of what I've been robbing people of." Yet, understanding such a thing certainly wouldn't bring a person peace. Throw Down is all about how one's morality and trying to do the right thing is a delusion people hold onto in order to comfort themselves.
Something drenched in so much subjectivity that what another person finds wrong could very well be right to someone else. The back and forth between those states of understanding. Understanding that all ethics is when cut down to its barest form is humans trying to delude themselves into believing they've done the right thing through reasons created by humans. It's just a higher level of justifying one's own beliefs and choices. So, just as easily as it can be picked up, it can also be thrown down.
It only means what the individual wants it to mean and we all pay the tax for believing what we believe eventually whether it's a delusion or not. Sorry, got sidetracked there. The thing that showcases this sun/moon comparison between Mahiru and Shidou are the plants on their doors. Shidou's are withered and wilting as though they haven't seen sunlight in ages despite the glow around Shidou himself. While the ones gripping Mahiru's door are clearly still alive as a warm light shines down atop Mahiru's head.
Shidou tends to be associated with flower preservation. So, him having dead flowers isn't surprising. He's shown to enjoy preserving things even after they've died in Throw Down. This could easily represent how Shidou isn't really interested in things outside of a superficial perspective. How he wants to preserve only the good aspects of his partner or harvest only the best parts for them.
This leads into the double meanings behind the prisoners covers. Each song that a prisoner has covered so far has had a double meaning. Delusion Tax for Shidou for example could allude to him deluding himself into believing he had more of a relationship with the person he was allegedly trying to save than he did.
However, it also plays into his delusion around being a doctor. Thinking that just if he studied medicine, he could save people and do right by society. Something heavily displayed in the lyric, "That's right, for all these dirty delusions let's settle the bill with this dirty money."
So, I have two theories. Shidou was definitely organ trafficking to make money on the side of being a doctor. However, why he was doing so still alludes me and how he was being provided with the bodies is also incredibly suspect.
The first thing that could have happened is he was a shady doctor who worked with criminals on the side and sometimes helped hurry organ collection along by botching surgeries. Yet, one day when he was called in to get organs out as usual it was someone he knew on the table. However, Shidou doesn't seem like the sort to get into something like that without there being some way for him to gain as well.
So, he could have also got into it to get access to organs himself to help someone he cares about with a layer of protection if he were to slip up one day. It's not that difficult for him to give organs he found unfit to any shady organization who may want them for some semblance of protection. Though to be honest Shidou is a bit of an outlier to me. It's a bit hard for me to relate to him on any level because he's just so flippant about even recognizing himself.
It's like he just doesn't care regardless of which way his verdict goes and only started to care about being innocent in order to keep giving medical aid to other prisoners. So, I'm at this point where I know he's bad but he clearly values human life and I'm interested in knowing what would make him begin to wonder what the weight of a life is in Throw Down. Because at least to me to come to the conclusions Shidou has about ethics well it shows that at a point he really did care about those things and I want to know what made him throw that away.
Though he could have also never cared about those things. Like he's hard to read which is why I said I probably wouldn't be voting on him unless there are some very concrete revelations. I'd need to see his song a few times and have the voice drama translation before giving a deliberation on him this trial.
Ah he's rather difficult because slippery cold people like that are hard for me to deal with. It just feels like he doesn't care about much and he's just taking things as they go like he gave up long before ending up in Milgram and that's a difficult type for me. He could also just be a cannibal which at this point seems like a bit of a low hanging fruit.
I feel like his music video is going to be really fucked up though. I'd really just have to say Shidou is too much like Jack Vessalius for me to really get a feel for yet or make an opinion on. It seems like he just reflects what the person he's speaking to wants to see. I don't know what he cares about or stands for and how easily he switched from vote me guilty to vote me innocent is questionable.
To anyone that has read Pandora Hearts that may be taken as an insult for those who haven't I'm basically saying Shidou has yet to show his true colors and I don't know if he ever will. He seems fake as hell to be honest. Like I know Kazui is meant to be the one good at lying but Mahiru and Shidou seem really good at hiding their true selves.
I hope this makes sense. I was in a bit of a rush. I really want to see what Shidou cares about and not what he believes society would want him to care about and I still haven't seen that so he's just a difficult case for me...

The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Bola Tinubu, Temitope Ajayi, said this on Wednesday in reaction to the US presidential candidates debate held on Tuesday night, between Democrat candidate, Donald Trump and Republican candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris.Ajayi said like Peter Obi, Trump would use unimaginable negative words to describe a country he wants to lead just to win the sympathy of voters. The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, has confirmed the receipt of a flood intervention fund of ₦3 billion from the Federal Government, which will be utilized to tackle the challenges posed by the recent flooding.Naija News reports that over one million individuals have been displaced due to the catastrophic floods in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.Governor Zulum gave more information regarding the devastating events on Wednesday during a donation of cash to those seeking refuge at the Bakassi IDP camp along the Biu-Damboa road in Maiduguri.Zulum announced that food supplies and other essential items would be provided, with vendors engaged to supply meals to the displaced individuals in the camp.As part of long-term strategies, the governor indicated that a health committee will be established to monitor potential disease outbreaks and mitigate their effects. He stated that search and rescue operations have commenced in the affected communities to assess casualties, and data collection of those impacted will begin immediately.Regarding the flood’s cause, the governor attributed it to the heavy rainfall experienced this year.Zulum noted that urban development has obstructed water channels throughout the state capital, impeding natural water flow.Additionally, he pointed to the overflow of the Alo Dam, which was exacerbated by the release of water from other dams in Cameroon.Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja, on Wednesday, issued a ruling granting bail to ten #EndBadGovernance protesters who had been detained on charges including treason. Each defendant was granted bail set at ₦10 million, along with the requirement of one surety in the same amount. In his ruling, Justice Nwite emphasized the principle of presumption of innocence, asserting that anyone charged with a criminal offense is presumed innocent until proven guilty. He acknowledged the arguments presented by the defense counsel, particularly Abubakar Marshall, representing the 1st, 2nd, and 4th defendants.Despite the serious nature of the charges, Justice Nwite decided to grant bail to all ten defendants, stating, “I have carefully considered the submission of the counsel on both divides. I hereby grant the defendants bail notwithstanding the crime.Justice Nwite approved their bail applications, stipulating that each defendant must secure a surety who is both a property owner and resident in Abuja. These sureties are required to provide property documents and an affidavit of means to the court. Additionally, both defendants and sureties must submit their international passports and three recent passport-sized photographs.Justice Nwite overruled the Inspector General of Police’s objections to the bail requests and imposed a restriction prohibiting the defendants from participating in any public demonstrations during their trial.Until bail conditions are met, the defendants will remain in custody, while their trial is scheduled to begin on September 27.Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Kingsley Moghalu, has said that he has declined all requests for interviews on the country’s economy crisis over the past several months.Moghalu explained that he decided to stay silent because he does not see the need to dialogue with the deaf.He asserted that he has already spoken several times on how to fix the Nigerian economy, and anyone interested should go find his previous interviews.Speaking via his X handle, the former deputy governor lamented that despite not needing Nigeria economy to survive, he has been concerned about the situation in the country out of passion.
Early on Wednesday morning, the garrison town of Bassa in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State came under severe attack from suspected Boko Haram terrorists.According to local sources who spoke with Premium Times, the community has been subjected to sporadic gunfire since approximately 5:30 a.m.The attack marks yet another violent incident in a town that has seen its fair share of conflict, including a significant attack earlier this year where several soldiers, including a captain, were killed. This incident had previously led to the withdrawal of troops from the area. However, the government had redeployed joint security forces recently to bolster the town’s defense, allowing residents to return to their homes.Sources report that as the attack commenced, security operatives instructed residents to remain indoors while they engaged the attackers. The ongoing violence in Bassa is attributed to the presence of Boko Haram militants in the nearby Allawa forest reserve, turning the area into a frequent battleground. The region has suffered extensively, with bandits and terrorists infiltrating from neighboring states such as Zamfara and Kaduna, utilizing the Kuyambana and Kamuku forest reserves as their pathways. The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, has said President Bola Tinubu’s government offers no hope for Nigerians. The National Leader of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) said all economic and security policies of President Tinubu have only worsened the situation of Nigerians. In his “State of the Nation” open letter on Tuesday, the Aare Ona Kakanfo accused Tinubu of turning a dictator by charging #EndBadGovernance protesters with treason for doing what he had always done to other administrations. He reminded the President that by 29 May 2023, a liter of fuel only cost less than ₦200, but with his “subsidy is gone” statement fuel has gone to over ₦1000 per liter, and Naira to Dollar was less than what it is in his administration.Adams told President Tinubu that insecurity has worsened in his administration and his government has not been doing enough to curb it.The leader of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) accused the President of mismanaging the August 1 hunger protest. He decried the clampdown on civil society organizations by security agencies.Google News That’s the top Nigerian newspaper headlines for today. Read more Nigerian news on Naija News.
