Morning Star Zine is looking for moderators! If you're interested in helping produce a MCYT fanzine celebrating Minecraft creators of marginalised gender identity or experience, consider applying using the form linked below.

We are specifically looking to fill the following positions:

Editing Mod: Layout experience in a suitable software (Indesign, for example) & capable of assembling all the zine elements into the end result.

Art mod: ability to give constructive criticism and help contributors with their piece, ability to create art pieces for the zine (for example, promo art, spot illustrations within the zine, etc.)

Writing mod: ability to give constructive criticism and help contributors with their piece, ability to write for the zine (for example, social media posts, foreword& conclusion, …)

Finance Mod: Experience with print on demand, order fulfillment and/or physical zine distribution. (Added disclaimer that we aren't sure yet if we will do a physical print of the zine as well, so taking on a finance mod isn't guaranteed)

We are also very interested in having members who are knowledgeable about different CCs and sides of MCYT than the current mod team is, such as QSMP, DSMP, standalone streamers/youtubers... As it stand, mods are mostly familiar with Hermitcraft and the Life series.

The form will close on March 17th at Noon GMT; the applications results will be sent out sometime during the following week.

y'all will complain so much about wanting to see people you in the media you consume or whatever and then when given the opportunity will truth tommy as having ADHD instead of like. watching sneeg, who actually talks about how it impacts him. or watching openly trans creators like ivorycello. or even creators outside mcyt circles. it's not like there isn't a plethora of neurodivergent and queer creators, it's that you guys have picked your special little guys already and are so brainrotted over what headcanoning is that you think it's okay to do to real people.

it's not a bad thing to like watching tubbo. it is a bad thing to so ardently want to watch an autistic creator that you attribute his behavior to stereotypes rather than watching someone who is actually autistic and talks about it. it is a bad thing to repeatedly misgender him out of some convoluted idea that he's secretly a trans girl, a theory which, beyond even how disrespectful it is to speculate, would be publicly outing him and an act of transphobic violence.

i cannot fathom why you think this shit is okay to pull. and beyond even the larger issues of pulling shit that could actively put them in harm's way, im just tired of the jokes. im tired of y'all making it out like having interests is exclusively a neurodivergent thing and im tired of y'all acting like any gender expression outside strict adherence to AGAB makes you trans (literally gender essentialism).

Hey Red!!! I heard that the escape artist formerly known as Mythrodak has come out and goes by she/her pronouns now! She also has a new name but I forgot it but it's a really pretty one!

Ivory, or IvoryCello, yup.

I just got home and watched the vid and I think I'm coming down with something so my brain is very wander-y rn, but I have to say: this probably means I won't write any Mythro fic anymore, or at least for a while. (And if I do, it'll be Mythrodak as an entirely fictional character, separated from Ivory the cc)

I'm not going to go back and edit what I have written already, but hearing "I hate the person who made this channel" makes me very much not want to put more content based on that character out -- at least for the time being. Maybe not forever, as I still think that Mythrodak-the-character is a fascinating story and worth more exploration? (And. I mean. I never had a problem writing Sherlock fics even knowing how much Doyle hated Holmes...lol. Slightly different situation.) There are so many of my favorite tropes tied up in it... And from what Ivory said, I get the impression that any new content is going to be very different in flavor (though doubtless just as good in quality.) So it might be easy to separate the two... But I don't know just yet, and I'm definitely going to wait to see if Ivory mentions any boundaries about it or requests for people to just let the Mythrodak character fade away.

Anyway -- yeah! Thanks for the ask and the heads-up. :)
