he was trending on twitter. it wasn't uncommon, he was a creator after all. but now he was trending in association with you.

"fans of karl jacobs left excited after his "adorable" reaction to the prospect of meeting up with longtime friend for the first time ever."

"why is 'adorable' in quotation marks?" he turned his phone screen around so jimmy could see. jimmy just laughed and shrugged.

you and karl had streamed together last night, and you'd entertained the prospect of a face reveal. you'd become a creator rather young, never expecting it to truly take off. but now as an adult with a flourishing career, you felt ready to show your face.

karl had been elated that he was the first person you wanted to meet in person. you and him had been friends for years, and you telling him that he was your best friend turned him into a giggly blushing mess.

but, that was for him to think about later, because right now he had a video to shoot. this one wasn't an endurance challenge, so he didn't think he'd be here for more than maybe four hours. but that was four hours he could spend talking to you.

"hey, karl?" jimmy called him over about an hour. "can you grab another cable from the storeroom?" karl nodded and pocketed his phone, jogging over to storeroom one. "oh, wait. not that one. we have a guest in there."

"oooh, who is it?" he asked. usually, whenever they had guests it was either viewers that karl would meet when they got to the warehouse, or another creator that he would also meet when they got to the warehouse.

"i can't tell you," jimmy said simply. "it's a surprise."

karl frowned, but just put it off. "why are they in the storeroom,"

"we took out the shelves and put up some decor and stuff," jimmy said. "figured we would do more surprise reveals after this one and we need somewhere for them to stay."

to karl's dismay, he soon found out that everyone knew who was in the room except for him. over the next few hours, they filmed the challenge portion of the video, and then took a break before the end segment.

karl had won, and he had a lot of fun. it seemed like everyone else had given up fairly easily, but he assumed that everyone had off days.

he pulled out his phone and texted you: "hi bub sorry, been filming all day. you're probably asleep right now so call me when you wake up <33"

you and karl had been friends for years, but for the past year or so it had been different. you weren't dating, it was a weird sort of in between thing.

you knew he liked you, he knew you liked him. but you'd both silently agreed to wait until you met up irl before anything was going to happen.

once they were all gathered together jimmy spoke to the camera for a second before turning to karl. "alright, now. since karl was the winner, he gets our mystery prize. it's right in there," he gestured to the storeroom that had been done up.

"ooh, is it taylor swift?" he giggled as he opened the door. he expected it would be maybe his family, or another creator he hadn't got to meet.

"you've been hanging out with alex too much," was the first thing you said before karl was pulling you into his arms.

"you're here. oh my god," he recognised you based off of your voice, and he couldn't believe you were physically in front of him. "you're so pretty, gosh,"

"hi honey," you squeezed him as hard as you could.

"it's weird," he mumbled. "i missed you. but, i talked to you all the time. it doesn't make sense,"

"don't worry, karl. none of us saw her, she came in early." chris said. "we were all in on it,"

"can't even be mad," karl still hadn't let go of you, burying his face in your neck. "not when you're here,"

he had to pull away from you (still keeping your hand firmly in his), to finish the video. but the second everyone had gone he was putting his hands on either side of your jaw. "you're here, with me," he needed to keep repeating it so you didn't suddenly disappear.

"karl, honey?" he hummed in response. "i missed you too."

Movie or show?” Karl questioned from the living room the sound from the tv being heard loudly as he flicked back and forth between the various options on netflix. “Uhh I dunno whatever you wanna watch.” You replied grabbing the clear plastic off the popcorn and setting it in the microwave, pressing a button and going to the fridge to grab two monsters for you and Karl.

“That’s not helpful at all, you know how indecisive I am.” You rolled your eyes picking up the large bowl with different sour and non sour gummy treats mixed together as well as the cold monsters from off the counter and going to accompany your boyfriend.

The brunette seated on the couch smiled when you sat down next to him with his favorite snacks and drink. “I was going to put on something scary but I decided against it since it’s like almost one am.”

He chuckled, taking the large bowl from you and placing the monster you had handed him off to his side allowing you to sit down and take the remote from his lap.

“Victorious?” The show had been on netflix for about a month but you and Karl never got around to watching it for the sole fact that you were always busy. Kar’ nodded plucking a red and blue trolli gummy worm from the large light blue bowl.

The theme song to the nickelodeon show began to play as you made yourself comfortable resting your head on the boys shoulder.

Your favorite days were ones where you could relax and wouldn’t have to worry about an upcoming paper or having to move date nights to fit each other's schedule. So whenever you both had time to enjoy the other's company you did.

Of course dating a popular minecraft streamer came with all the downsides of not seeing him for hours on end and not being able to just walk in because no one knew about your relationship. A few moments went by before a burning scent filled your nose.

“Oh shit the popcorn!” You jumped up nearly knocking over the bowl of sweets which was lucky being held as you dashed to the microwave smoke coming from the top of it. “Fuck fuck fuck..” You grabbed the fire extinguisher that was under the kitchen sink as you opened the microwave with the sleeve of your shirt.

“Damn it.” The once smoking microwave was now covered in a white fluffy like substance. A giggle behind you bringing you back from your memories of what button you may have pressed to have ended up here.

“This is so going on twitter.” Karl gave you a big doopy smile before heading to the laundry room to grab some towels to clean up the mess and a febreeze to get rid of the burnt smell. Just as he turned the corner your phone signed from your back pocket.

You clicked on the twitter notification from your boyfriends twitter a picture of you spraying the fire extinguisher as the microwave bled a grey smoke.

Dream

Dream has your stream up on his second monitor while he works, your voice helping him focus

you’re streaming in the other room, just a chill minecraft stream but it’s been about 6 hours already which is longer than usual

suddenly, you trail off in the middle of your sentence and after a few seconds of silence dream glances over to see what’s up

he looks just in time to see your eyes roll back as you slip out of your chair, the camera jolting as you crash onto the floor out of frame

he’s out of his seat so fast, sprinting to your room and calling your name

he skids to a stop in your doorway, feeling his heart drop at the sight of your crumpled figure

he rushes to your side, making a half-hearted effort to shield his face with his hand as he passes your set up, vaguely aware of your still running stream but too focused on you to care

he scoops you up, holding you as securely as he can while still knelt on the floor by your desk

he shouts over his shoulder for Sapnap to help, the other man already appearing to investigate the commotion

when he turns back his breath catches, relief flooding through him as your eyes flicker open and gaze up at him in confusion

“wha happ’n’d?” you slur out, groggily

“you passed out” he tells you “do you feel ok? do i need to call 911?”

you’re both vaguely aware of sapnap messing with your pc above you, ending stream, your frantic chat freezing in place

“um, no? no, i’m ok i think” you tell him, trying to push yourself up to sit and wincing at the slight ache it causes in your head

“are you sure?” he asks, his eyes searching yours, brow furrowed in concern and anxiety as his thumb runs absently along your cheekbone

you nod and manage a small smile

he pulls you tightly to his chest, “you had me so worried” he mumbles into your hair

“do you want me to tweet that you’re ok?” sapnap asks you in a gentle voice

“yes please!” you tell him, gratefully, “that must have looked so dramatic” you cringe

“yeah,” sap jokes as dream helps you to your feet, tucking an arm around your ribs snuggly to support you, “especially with dream freaking out”

you giggle as dream frowns at him

“do i need to call 911 ?!?!” sap teases him

“shut up idiot”, dream turns back to you, face softening, “i was scared”

“i pass out and you’re trending? make it make sense” you joke weakly, feeling guilt tug at your gut for your part in his accidental face reveal

“oh come on, you know i have to always be centre of attention” he grins before leaning over to place a kiss on your forehead. “let’s get you to bed, baby”

Sapnap

you’re about an hour into your stream and frankly you feel like you’re on the verge of hyperventilating

Sap had convinced you to do your own minecraft shock collar stream and for some reason, probably bc you would do anything for those big brown eyes, you’d agreed

but your pain tolerance is not high, and the pressure of providing your viewers with an entertaining stream despite your distress is beginning to make you feel trapped and panicked

the only thing keeping you grounded at this point is sapnap himself sat next to you, rubbing soothing patterns on your back

even that doesn’t help once you get to the nether though

and when a blast hits you with a fireball and you start receiving shock after shock, it all becomes too much and you feel yourself slumping in your chair and everything going dark

Sap himself is already having a bad time

watching you get hurt isn’t funny like it was when his friends did the same thing, it just makes his chest feel tight

when you start sliding out of your chair with your eyes rolling back he’s there immediately, catching you under your arms and pulling you back up

“y/n?! can you hear me? fuck” he grabs at the shock collar around your wrist and rips it off, breaking it in the process

he puts a hand on your cheek, patting gently to try and stir you, anxiety swirling in his stomach

he lets out a huge breath of relief when you come round, scrunching your nose a little before blinking your eyes open

you look up at him all doe-eyed and sleepy, like you’d just woken up from a nap, and his heart melts just a lil bit

then you seem to remember where you are, stress and embarrassment twisting your face

“can you,, turn off the,,” you sit up slightly and point towards your stream deck, hoping sap will get the gist

“oh, yeah, sure, lemme just,,” he leans round, fumbling to mute your mic and find the key bind that turns off your face cam

when you finally feel the weight of those thousands of eyes lift, you lean forward, groaning, pressing your forehead into sapnap’s chest

“it’s ok-” sap starts

“that was a disaster!” you cut him off

you press your face further into his hoodie

“-m never streaming again”, your muffled voice declares

sapnap’s lips press into a line

he’s fairly sure you don’t mean that, but he still feels bad. after all, he was the one who got you to do this stream in the first place

“s’not your fault” you mumble

he thinks for a second, “do you wanna go for a drive? get some food? it’ll take your mind off it” he tries to persuade you

you hum in thought for a second before nodding, “ok,” you agree, “just let me end stream”

you tap a few buttons, reappearing on screen

chat has been blowing up in your absence, and you somehow have more viewers now than you did ten minutes ago

you ignore both chat and your view count though

“i’m going to go guys! sorry for cutting stream short, i’m just not feeling so good”

you barely wait for the stream delay to pass before ending and turning excitedly to your boyfriend, “ok, let’s go”

he smiles fondly at your enthusiasm

“excited for food?” he asks

“just relieved that’s over honestly”

he gives you a soft look and grabs your hand, pulling you up out of your chair and holding you by your shoulders for a moment

“sorry again” he murmurs

“i told you it’s not your fault” you interrupt

“it’s my treat, to make it up to you” he continues

“oh ok,” you tease “maybe it is your fault then”

he rolls his eyes with a grin, just relieved you’re making jokes

You and George are sat next to each other at your desk streaming some not-that-scary horror game on your alt

mostly he’s just there with you for the company, chiming in with jokes and suggestions every now and then

he’s never publicly touchy with you but, from the small brushes of his hand against your knee under the table, you can tell he’s feeling clingy so you decide to wrap things up for the night

“oh wait! i forgot to show them what Karl sent me!” you exclaim, halfway through your usual goodbye spiel

you jump up to go grab the new merch he’d sent you to show it off, but you got up too quickly and suddenly the room is spinning and the floor seems to slip out from under you

George barely has time to register what’s happening before you’ve collapsed back down, your head bouncing against your (luckily padded) chair on your way to the floor

He yelps your name as you fall, reaching out to try and grab you but not able to do much

he glances between you and the screen, feeling frozen and not knowing if you were ok or not, how he could help, if he should end stream first

“mmph?” a muffled noise as you stir has his attention snapping back to you and he quickly crouches down next to you

“Y/n?” he asks, a tinge of desperation in his voice. you were the one who was good in a crisis, he needed you to be ok, to wake up and tell him what you needed him to do,

“wake up” he requests, curling one hand comfortingly around the back of your neck, the other hovering near your face

“George?” you mumble, “Why am I on the floor?”

“You fainted.” he tells you softly, hyper aware of your stream still running somewhere overhead, “I think you got up too fast”

He lets a hint of fondness creep into his voice as he accepts that you seem ok, already predicting how embarrassed you’ll be about this later

“Still streaming by the way” he whispers

“Oh. Um, yeah that sounds like me” you reply, sheepishly, a faint blush on your cheeks

“Can you get up?” George moves his hands to each of your elbows, helping to pull you forward until you’re sat up, then grabbing your hands to help you clamber back into your chair

you scoot forward to try to end stream again, squinting at the light

George shoos your hands away to do it for you as you talk, gratefully shutting your eyes against the brightness

“I’m ok chat! I just need some water and an iron tablet or something, everything’s fine!” you soothe

“done?” he asks, still speaking quietly

Notes: I’m sorry for not updating for like, 20 days. School’s been rough and this imagine has been sitting in my drafts half-finished for like 15 of those 20 days. But I hope you enjoy, this one’s definitely intense. :)

It was a hot summers day, mid-July with high humidity. You had been stuck in the house all day lounging around, it being far too hot to do much else. With just your luck, the air conditioner had broken. You sighed deeply, brushing your hair out of your face. Your boyfriend, Karl was in his room streaming, probably too distracted by whatever he was playing to notice the heat.

You decided to get a snack, maybe something to drink to get your mind off the fact that you were absolutely melting in this house. Opening the fridge, you realized that you and Karl didn’t have much to eat or drink. Leftovers from probably a week ago, butter, ketchup and other condiments, and a little bit of milk. You didn’t even have any bread or cereal, your go-to meals when there was nothing to eat were toast or cereal.

With a sigh, you shut the fridge door and left the kitchen. Maybe you should go to the grocery store, the car’s air conditioning and hopefully the grocery stores air conditioning would be just what you needed. You quickly went upstairs to change, putting on a pair of a little higher than mid-thigh shorts and a simple tanktop, nothing fancy, but it might help beat the heat.

Grabbing your keys, you were about to leave when you thought of Karl. What if he came down from streaming and noticed you were gone? Karl was always very protective and if he saw you were gone without him knowing, well, he might just start putting up missing person posters. You grabbed a pen and quickly wrote him a note: “gone 2 the store, be back soon!! <3”. And with that, you were out the door and in your car with the lovely air conditioning.

Half an hour later, Karl ended stream and made his way downstairs to look for you. When he didn’t see you, he looked in the bedroom, bathroom, your office, with still no sign. He walked back out to the kitchen where he saw your note on the counter.

“Thank goodness..” Karl muttered to himself, worried that you had left him or something like that. With one last look at the note, he plopped down on the couch and started scrolling through Twitter, soft laughter leaving him whenever he saw something funny that either his friends posted or someone else posted.

With a deep breath, you picked up all the grocery bags in your hands and shut the car door with your hip. Walking up to the front door, you slowly opened the door, with a bit of a struggle. You smiled when you saw Karl sitting on the couch.

“Baby! How was stream?” You asked as you set the grocery bags down. Karl turned off his phone and walked up to you with a smile, not yet noticing anything.

“It was great, I think everyone really enjoyed it.” Karl replied, “You went grocery shopping?” You nodded, taking out the things that went in the fridge first so they didn’t go bad. As you bent down to put a bag of apples in the bottom drawer of the fridge, Karl noticed what you were wearing.

“You went grocery shopping in that?” Karl asked. You bent back up to your regular height as you finished putting away the stuff that was in your hands.

“Uh, yeah. It’s really hot out, so I chose something that wouldn’t made me feel any hotter.” You explained to him, a slight bit of concern laced in your tone. Why was he asking?

“Don’t you think that’s a little, uh, risqué for the grocery store?” Karl asked again as you put another couple things in your hands to put away.

“Risqué? Not really, everyone was wearing stuff like this, it’s like a fucking heatwave out there.” You explained, putting a couple of cans inside the pantry. Karl felt anger bubble up inside of him. Why weren’t you paying any attention to this?

Karl sighed deeply. “Will you stop putting away stuff for a second so I can talk to you about this?” Karl asked, annoyed.

You didn’t turn to look at him, still continuing to put things away. “I only have a few things left to put away, then we can talk, okay?” You said with a soft smile. You heard Karl’s fist slam down on the table, making it shake and make a loud noise. You jumped slightly and turned to him.

“What’s wrong?” You asked hesitantly, not walking any closer to him. He scared you when he got like this, his anger often times overruled his mind and he snapped. But you still loved him, you loved him more than anything like he loved you.

“What’s wrong? What’s wrong?!” Karl exclaimed, his voice suddenly a lot louder. “What’s wrong is that my girlfriend is dressed like a slut to go fucking grocery shopping.”

You fought down the tears that were about to well up in your eyes. “It’s just a tanktop and shorts, baby. I promise I wasn’t trying to dress like a… like a slut.” You managed to choke out. You knew there was no use in trying to calm Karl when he got like this, but you loved him too much to not try.

“Oh sure you weren’t. I bet you were just waiting for some guy to come over and hit on you in the dairy isle.” Karl spat. You stepped closer to him and continued to hold back your tears best you could.

“I promise that wasn’t it at all, Karl.” You said, your voice wavering. “What can I do to make you not mad at me?”

Karl thought for a moment. “You don’t go out without me and I make any final decisions on what you wear. I’m not letting anyone even look at you.” Karl said.

You nodded slowly, looking down at the ground. You felt ashamed, even if you really hadn’t done anything wrong. That was the power Karl had over you, he could make you apologize for something you never did.

Karl pulled you into his arms and held your body against his, kissing the top of your head softly. “I’m not letting anyone go near you, you’re mine.” You closed your eyes and nodded. That was his special version of “I love you”. As unsafe as you should have felt, you felt beyond safe in his arms. And maybe that was your downfall.
