I work in an office setting, but I also talk to myself a lot, which means I will catch myself quietly saying, “that’s company policy, baby, bada-bing-bada-boom, I’m walkin’ here” and only then recall that my door is open and people can theoretically hear me

This has been roaming around my head for awhile so i decided to ask!! what happens if ur blixer was a slightly different story like instead of his parent being a spider what would if he actually have a bio logical parents? Would his parents have the same look as him or one of them has a different look or depends?
Bonus question: instead of mr spidey being his parent and he actually had biological parents would his story would be more different?? Like maybe more traumatizing and has past lores etc ?
oh I LOVE thinking about "what if's" scenarios I have multiple versions of CB (that end up not used) as for Blixer parents aspect or how he lived, it varies from cuda and lycan being his cave buddies and friends to having no parents and friends in the cave at all. Giving him parents didn't cross my mind at all at first because his reason for existing already kinda set (macabres wish) heck... even when i was 10 pages in the comic spidey didn't exist until i decided "hey if a spider adopt him, raised him to be good and suddenly blixer loose his sanity, wouldn't that make it more sad compared to him living alone?" and so spidey exist and i mention him in the boat with cuda scene + side comic to make up for my silly mid comic rewrite. It also shows he's not as violent as people think he is since he's LITERALLY RAISED BY SPIDERS, 10X TINY THAN HIM Now if we change it up and blixer have bio parents, a lot of things can change: > Blixer Identity Crisis is less intense. He got parents, who raised him, BIRTHED HIM. Unlike the in the comic where he just pops up out of no where and someone adopted him. Sure in both versions he got a loving family but you get the gist right? > Blixer mom is the first shape he accidentally corrupt. He got the curse of corrupting everything he touch, so his pure parents are now corrupt and THEY get the beating instead of Blixer. In the comic Spidey can't do much to protect him physically since he's tiny compared to blixer > HE'S GOT BASIC HUMAN NEEDS, lets say his dad isn't corrupt, he still can go outside and provide for the family there's a LOT more i can list (but it is 1:30 AM i'm getting sleepy lmao) but basically giving Blixer bio parents will make his backstory less traumatic......unless i killed them......... when he's young.... now to actually answer your first question lmao- yes i think his bio parents would look similar to him, heck i try to make macabres design similar to blixer since she wish for him and stuff

Literally my first post in the CB tag, so: hello, hi, nice to formally meet you all. I don't post but trust me I DO lurk in this tag. Doing this post so I can share my deteriorating thoughts but also so that in five weeks when I've forgotten everything I can see if I was right or not and whether I've earned a treat. Fair warning: I only know how to write essays. Big long theses. My bad. Whoops. All of this is PURE THEORIZING. I have no idea what truly happens, all information I gather is from the free episode(s) or what's posted here. I am simply taking shots in the dark for fun. Please don't yell at me. only saying this cause I normally post in communities where everyone has the same information but you all seem very nice so I'm not really worried about it :]
OKAY! SO! As a very normal human being with very normal interest in this silly comic, I scroll through the tag and see what you goobers post (because you're all very funny, talented, and entertaining) and I noticed that this week's fast pass episode has people in emotions. Very MUCH in emotions. I also noticed someone mention parallels to this week's free episode- which I spent way too long agonizing over but that's IRRELEVANT -and so my brain got to thinking. I could just satisfy my curiosity by using money but the way my anxiety will just beat me up for that is crazy. So, instead of that, I've decided that it's time to rabidly theorize about what happens for giggles. Basing my thoughts on the idea of this week's episodes having parallels, I have a few different thoughts.
All of my ideas are parallels of things that happened in the dungeon in the free episode since that has the most content to parallel and was the most prevalent part of the episode. With that in mind, here we go and apologies in advance.
Idea Number One: My first idea is that maybe there's a parallel to the scene where Buddy saves Chase from the creepy guard. Perhaps there's a similar situation to what happened in the free episode or- an idea I'm more partial to -within this book there's a person, place, or scene that reminds Buddy of Ex-Libris which causes him to have some sort of panic attack or a clearly afraid reaction. He's placed in a situation where he's reminded of something from EL that he is afraid of or has bad memories of. Something that Chase has to pull him away or calm him down from, but something that Chase has to save him from. Like how Buddy saved him this week.
Idea Number Two: This idea is based on the statement about ulterior motives and hiding things that Buddy made to Chase- who we all know is hiding something. In this idea, maybe Buddy finally finds out about Prunella and isn't pleased with Chase's lying to him and hiding things. They aren't besties but there's a thin line of trust between them that Chase potentially breaks by hiding Prunella. A person Buddy thought was honest and open suddenly hid something from him, so who's to say he's not hiding more? So, the actual IDEA is that maybe Buddy parallels the statement he makes, but this time in a more hurt tone or accusatory. Instead of apologizing and admitting "you can't have ulterior motives and you're pretty honest", he goes the opposite direction of "I was wrong, you're a liar and blah blah blah" (sorry didn't wanna write more lmao). Still, for a parallel, the statements would likely have to be similar in structure and in nature, and a line that has been living RENT-FREE in my head since this morning is: "I was too dumb to think you didn't have ulterior motives. Too dumb to see that you were hiding something." Or something to that effect. Paralleling that previous statement.
Idea Number Three: This idea I'm less sold on but screw it, throwing it in for giggles because I can and that's one more idea I have lying around. This one is based more on the situation between Chase and Buddy (Buddy being like "wow! thanks for not hiding things" to Chase "definitely hiding a whole ass child" Hollow). A simple switch of roles is what my third thought is. Chase takes Buddy's role of "Wow, so honest" and Buddy takes Chase's role of "Hiding things". The reason I don't like this one as much and I'm not as convinced is because for it to have as much emotion as the Fast Pass episode clearly had, there has to be some sort of emotional investment to whatever the thing was. And for there to be emotional investment, we would likely have to know what exactly Buddy would be hiding from Chase in this potential scenario. As of right now, we have nothing of the sort since getting that kind of information would require a Buddy POV episode which I don't think we're getting any time super soon? So, unless we suddenly find out things in the next four weeks, I doubt it's going to be something like this.
OKAY, I'M DONE NOW I SWEAR! I am so sorry for how long and unnecessary this post was (whoops) but I need to scream somewhere! I'll revisit this in five weeks I suppose to see if I'm right or not and if I've earned my little treat (reward yourselves for things man. self-love). I'll still be lurking, as always, but I guess I'll see y'all formally once again in like five weeks. Have a lovely day! :]

"Rings don't actually exist. They're only for gameplay mechanics"
Meanwhile there are multiple characters who have rings on their person at all times

In SA2 Sonic and Shadow discuss rings and the necessity of collecting them to maintain their super forms
Rings absolutely exist within the setting. Anyone who says otherwise is being willingly obtuse for no reason.
Now I have to admit, I am not entirely unsympathetic to the perspective that "rings do not exist diegetically in Sonic, they're just for gameplay." I was aggressive in my response to wg_alen but that's because I could smell the stink of "Ian Flynn said so" on this tweet.
Tumblr media
Seriously, the "as silly as that sounds" just REEKS of "Ian Flynn said rings aren't canon in a podcast and what he says goes" doesn't it?
For people who are actually using their brains instead of thoughtlessly regurgitating whatever Ian Flynn tells them to think, and who have independently came to the reasoned position that the rings in Sonic are just for gameplay and don't "actually" exist; I understand. Because I used to be the same way. I also used to believe that the rings were just a gameplay mechanism and we weren't supposed to interpret their existence as literal within the world of Sonic. Same with the springs and bounce pads. They're just there because of video game mechanics, the characters in the world of Sonic do not actually interact with them.
But eventually I had to face up to the cold hard facts that no, the rings absolutely 100% exist within the world of Sonic. They are referred to directly and specifically in dialog multiple times across several games, and are used as currency in both Sonic Adventure's Casinopolis and in Sonic Unleashed for exchange for goods at store fronts. The rings are used as currency and as a way of providing "energy" for the cast and setting. They absolutely exist diegetically in universe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now perhaps the rings do not function LITERALLY the same way they do in the realm of gameplay. We never see rings fly out of characters upon taking a hit in any cutscenes for example. As recently as Shadow Generations, Shadow takes a homing attack from Sonic and just hits the mat. No rings fly out of him. And in the games like Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 where you can have boss fight against other playable characters, their damage threshold is just represented like a hit counter or life meter. Collecting rings does not refill their hit points, and if they collected a ring from the boss arena and then take a final hit which drains their hit points the boss fight will end even while the rings they collected fall out of them meaning they should have one extra hit to take by gameplay logic.
So the way the rings provide additional hits/mistake allowances is just gameplay mechanics which shouldn't be taken literally. But the rings themselves definitely exist, and have value both as a unit of currency and as a means of providing energy. This cannot be denied. And if some dumbass comic book writer is saying that should be denied, then that is just further proof that he's always always always wrong about Sonic and should never ever ever be listened to about anything ever.

mh au. notes below
listen. as much as i think db as a main weapon for ritsu would be cool...hes just too much of a dork for it to work. i can only imagine ekubo making him pick them up because he cant bare to be repowering himself with a kid who mains HUNTING HORN. also i suppose demon mode acts as a parallel to being possessed. as much as ritsu is a serious kid hes also a pretty silly kid.
teruki gets my least favorite waist armor in any of the games because he's like that. and if you're a mh fan you'll notice something about teru's armor... it's not all male!!!!! :) i think he'd main a longsword to act as a reference to his tie. and now that im looking at it i should have made his star bow purple insted of red... ah well. matches better with the colors anyhow. seeing teru perform a helmbreaker would be so cool haha.
shigeo gets all the crazy endgame shit. was going to give him full unknown set but that'd be mean he's not that emo. i think him having completely different layered armor over his actual armor acts as something like a metaphor for his masking of his true self. its also a plus that unknown armor combined with shantien & kushala armor (storm-related monsters, to act as a reference to the tornado that appeared when ???% was released, i was going to add shara ishvalda armor as well to reference the earthquake but i dont think it would fit him...) is like dark in reference to shigeo/???% . i dont exactly know what armor he would use as layered, but i figured something like one of the low rank fanged wyverns, or maybe something like lagombi or paolumu. something very nonthreatening to match his general attitude and appearance. also for chargeblade? i was sort of inbetween cb and gs but decided cb is more fitting. while greatsword's tcs isnt as flashy which fits him better, the cb has to meet very particular conditions after build up to release its saed which fits better to me than gs' straightforward hit, hit, BOOM tcs.

I'm back with more Circus Baby headcanons, mostly ‘cause I had bad art block right now, and I've felt like crap lately.
The hyperfixation also returned with a vengeance.
A lot of these headcanons apply to !FNAF SL REDUX!
(Ft. The funtimes, elizabeth, and scrap baby headcanons for seasoning)
see under the cut for the headcanons
Some Circus Baby specific headcanons to start us off
She has a very soothing voice at times, and this voice has a tendency to put some to sleep. She was having a conversation with Liz once and rambled on to a point that Liz fell asleep just listening to CB talk.
Her birthday cake sent has long since faded, but there is still a hint if you get close enough to her. You can especially smell it if you get a hug from her.
Circus Baby never stands up straight, she Is always usually angled down in an attempt to be less intimidating. With kids, she'll get on her knees or on one knee
She is so stubborn that she will try every possible scenario before even daring to conceive the idea of asking for help.
Circus Baby can not laugh. She just can't. She's tried, and she just can’t. So, to compensate for this, she will play audio of children's laughter to simulate laughter. It comes off more creepy than she intends to.
Here's some headcanons specific with Elizabeth or about her
Circus Baby refuses to let Elizabeth apologize to her, ‘oh you did something wrong. No, don't apologize to me. You shouldn't have done that, but- DON'T apologize to ME’
Elizabeth loves exploring the facility, specifically to find other exits to the ‘world up above’. She will always report back to CB with anything she finds. It's always like a proud child presenting it to their parents.
Elizabeth and the bidybabs are the sibling dynamic™ constantly getting into trouble, doing stupid things, and just being straight up menaces. The bidybabs would also be the first funtimes besides Baby to be able to see Elizabeth. This would be followed close behind by Bon-Bon and the minireenas.
Elizabeth has a dissociative disorder and has a tendency to disconnect from the world sometimes.
When Circus Baby sleeps and Liz needs to get her attention about something, she'll jump up and tug on one of her pigtails. She's not very heavy, but it's enough weight to wake Baby up.
Scrap baby headcanons time!
Scrap baby is very sassy and sarcastic and has a tendency to have bickering banter with Elizabeth
Scrap baby was put back together though what was left of her body, Elizabeth's remnant seething with rage, and duct tape.
Elizabeth and Scrap Baby did nothing but silly shenanigans for those 30 years before Fnaf 6. One year, they pretended to be a Halloween animatronic and scared kids
Scrap baby is not as stubborn as Circus Baby was and listens to others more (by others, I mean Liz)
Ballora Headcanons to wrap it up
Ballora hates most of the staff, so she is the least co-operative, like she's tried to kill staff more than once.
Ballora is super sound sensitive and can get easily irritated by noise of any kind, especially if it disturbs her while she's dancing.
Ballora can be quite tempered, like you can really tell when she's angry.
Give her a hug. She needs it.
A child called her mom once, she never recovered.
Ballora is built like a contortionist. Due to this, she has freaked out so many kids and staff doing many different poses.
Ballora, when it comes to emotions, is hard to read. She doesn't seem to emote, but in reality, she feels a lot of things, all to a point that it's hard for her to register them.
Ballora comforts herself and the minireenas with her music box.
She's just a little unhinged, dare I say a little bit silly.
Ballora is so conflicted towards CB. Sometimes, she is happy to see her, and she understands her, and other times, she wants to beat the ever loving shit out of her.
Ballora is torn on Freddy, and it's mostly ‘cause their personalities clash,' but since Funtime Freddy hides out in the breaker room so much, they both have kinda become unintentional roommates.
Foxy and Ballora are gossiping Besties, that's it. That's their dynamic.
Ballora is very aware of Elizabeth and interacts with her on a regular basis. For a long while, CB would be unaware of Balloras' awareness.
Not immediately getting back into fnaf content, this was just sitting on my phone for too long

I think Michael like for all that she is she is definitely an anthropologist like I think she takes a very great cultural lense before a scientific
you know, i think you are absolutely right! thank you so much for bringing this up! i wasn't even thinking about her academic specialties when i wrote this post. her first question being about "praying" could very easily just have been the way she was trained to meet alien peoples where they are first before obnoxiously being like "what is that, tho"
and, to your point about the cultural v scientific lens:
for better or worse, i'd say star trek collapses the boundaries between a lot of academic disciplines. "hard" v "soft" science doesn't seem to be a distinction in the star trek speculative world, where linguistics and anthropology are as much about physics and biology and no one is going to pretend like learning languages is a different kind of Study to learning chemistry. this sometimes does not work, imo, because sometimes the writing will accidentally slip into an unexamined essentialism with the alien cultures, which renders the whole of the allegory sort of silly and potentially all kinds of offensive. but it sometimes does work.
discovery, from what i remember of the first two seasons (i'm only just now starting the third, bc i lost my cbs account between 2 and 3, alas! etc), seems more able than other series to collapse the distance between disciplines and walk the line between what is cultural and what is material culture informed by biology. like saru constantly talks of his alien species and how their history of being hunted on his planet manifests in a perpetual anxiety and tamed-curiosity for him but also lends a level of care and sensitivity that he excels in---all of which fleshes out the character while giving him the awareness and consciousness to know why he may be acting a certain way compared to others and why he shouldn't ever be demeaned for it and where his body and his body's millions-of-years-old natural history can be challenged with that consciousness and how his consciousness can be valued precisely for its origins.
the klingons and vulcans, while not as sophisticated as the character saru, also seem to be largely cultural products that are informed by their specific biology. michael, somewhat caught between the cultural product and her own biological reality, can affect vulcan mannerisms and is very often portayed as thinking like a vulcan, while remaining very recognizable to us. her phrasing and her pattern of speech, while not monotone, are normally utterances that move from established fact to logical conclusion. I have nowhere to go back to...the only thing I can do right now is trust something, she says, upon being thrust nine-hundred years in the future. it's the statement of a stoic philosopher (probably one of the "vulcan" influences). she is concerned with what is material and what is real and what is real to others.
which is why i really like what you pointed out about her anthropology expertise--culture is real and often naturalized to those who live in it. michael is definitely someone, what with her studies and how she was raised, who is intimately aware of how the alien can be made familiar, how bodies can't be denied but you can learn to know them, how consciousness is strange and existence-in-causal-time stranger, and how people (all creatures included) are never all one thing or another.
obviously there's no perfect speculative fiction creating speculative cultures. the hurdles of making a sell-able show and the ingrained biases and limitations of the writers are not insignificant. but the storytelling here is engaging with conceits concerning the preciousness of life and the immutability of that preciousness--even if you don't understand it.
(also i just love michael burnham with all my heart. don't think it was a coincidence she was named after the angel who carries a sword.)

The special thing about Ghosts is that I really feel like it has something for everyone. We get a ton of very distinct characters who we can be entertained by and relate to. And characters that don’t mean anything to some people will resonate with others. For example, you seem to have an anon who’s obsessed with Jenkins and Baxter, while I literally keep forgetting they’re even on the show! And while many here don’t seem to love or click with Sam, those of us who had a very critical parent and a lot of pressure and expectations tend to find her very relatable.
The show’s humor runs the gambit from dark gallows humor to sharp observational wit to just silly sitcom stuff so can appeal to all tastes. People who love supernatural stuff can get super into the ghost lore, but it can also be enjoyed purely as a standard sitcom. People who love history can enjoy all the references from the previous eras that each ghost represents. People who really enjoy romance get their share of those moments but there’s also a ton of focus on platonic relationship relationships and individual growth for those who don’t ship.
I’m so glad the show is fairly popular because I would hate to worry about cancellation but I’m almost surprised it’s not even more popular because like I said it really does have such wide appeal and something for everyone in my opinion!
I started out in the Ghostsverse with BBC and I loved it. When I heard we were getting our own version, I was extremely excited, but some of the initial reviews of it were on the negative side, sort of a "enjoy it while it's here because it won't be here long" sort of thing. And that did make me nervous because it looked like a really good show.
And here we are four years later with much more of a community than I thought. I love that there's so much appreciation for a genuinely cheerful, feel good show. (Although I do love the times when it dares to go a little darker or intense like it is right now with Patience, which I know isn't for everyone.)
I agree that there are so many different ways to enjoy it, and that's one of the things I love about it.
I mean it's got things that could be improved naturally (like I understand how people think it's overly focused on couples and could use more platonic focus and just what is up with the insistence on Flower and Thor? I think development of Nigel and Isaac would have been a much better use of time, but that's just me.)
I definitely click with Sam because of the pressure and expectations thing. When she was freaking out about getting the website done and how the B and B had to be a success because of all she'd done to make it happen, that hit me like a ton of bricks.
And I love all the different character types and how the show doesn't take itself too seriously but still gets lessons across. Like with Hetty for example: we know she did a lot of crappy stuff when she was alive. All the stuff she says about kids in the mills is just horrible but we're also shown that everyone else is horrified when she says these things. That she's starting to realize thats not the way to go/be, and I don't just have to feel bad for her cause Elias sucked and she had a lonely childhood and whatever else and give her a free pass. I LOVE watching Hetty grow and develop while still being Hetty. They don't make her a saint, they make her a better person and that's awesome.
And sure, there have been a few episodes where the plot/humor doesn't hit with me, but those are few and far between because this show gets what makes a ghost show, at least to me: remember the ghosts! Lots of ghost things (especially if they have human characters central) tend to focus too much on the human characters (BBC is guilty of this IMO, even if Alison and Mike can be delightful), and sort of put the ghosts at their mercy, but I feel like by and large, CBS has learned or is learning how to do Sam and Jay's story in a way that mixes it in well with the ghosts' stories if I make any sense. And if an episode's themes or story doesn't hit one week, I can be pretty confident that the next one will since there are so many different kinds of stories to tell. :)

OK do you ship dinahboose and if you do I NEED YOUR THOUGHTS. ( I saw you where analyzing ceeb’s characterization sooo) if not just use this as a free space to ramble about something else idk 💀
Tumblr media
it is 1:am but I am so desperate to ramble and I also will take any excuse to draw any ship I like ever which is almost too many so excuse me if I sound nonsensical
^^!!
OKAY I LOVE DINAHBOOSE obv I've been into this musical for a total of 2 weeks or so- so I'm still scrounging every bit of Information on these guys that I can. And I've done wayyy more research on CB than I have Dinah ( he has a lot more to look at though ) but these two just make sense to me. They just make sense. Opposites but not opposites. They are confusing and they are both confused. But at least they can hold hands while confused.
Personally I struggle to ever hate or dislike ships unless there's like a blindingly obvious reason to dislike a ship. But dinahboose is probably my second favorite ship so far for StEx ( Electraboose has 1st place and Krupp/purse has 3rd )
Totally not gonna use this to talk about my personal rewrite of StEx.. specifically C.B. because I don't want to make a post just for it LMAO.
So yeah I've been basically studying C.B. ( or, I guess caboose because he hasn't been called C.B in a long time... but C.B has more personality.. ) and my version of C.B. is probably a horrible amalgamation of OLC and 2015 Bochum. Because I love radio aesthetics and the Dinah friendship but I also love the toy soldier aesthetic and absolutely batshit laugh ( I also love it when C.B. is played by somebody too flexible for their own good ) hes just a glorified circus clown on wheels with a radio set strapped to his head.
And I wish I could pretend that I understand cutting him but I do and I don't and I do. Because I honestly feel like C.B in the original does more than Electra lmao. But I don't think cutting people is the solution most the time tbh.
Okay onto more half asleep rambling that is likely to change because I'm still in the early stages of this rewrite. But. I recognize that C.B. has some issues. The one most of my friends point out is that he seemingly has no motive. He just... Is silly I guess. And I think this is a bit funny because I do like an antagonist with the motive of " it would be funny " , but at the same time. Kind of hard to make that character very ...er... Well I'll just say it does get a bit boring.
Something I also heard was that in the reasons C.B. has been cut was because caboose's aren't exactly used anymore, which is totally fair!
But could also totally be a motivation! Think about it, why is C.B still working? Still working with the freight despite essentially being useless? Because greaseball wants to keep him around to use him for cheating. Easy! Obviously none of this could easily be translated to the show. But for some comics/writings? Yes. Yes.
Think about it. Rusty is struggling, he feels a bit useless because steam is falling behind! So he tries to win and prove himself. But who else feels useless because of their job being replaced? C.B. but unlike rusty, C.B takes the other path, instead of trying to be a role model and win or prove himself. He just goes down the path of crime. And hey, he's probably a crazy adrenaline junky too so he's still doing it for the fun!
And why does he betray greaseball? Plenty of reasons. C.B might dislike greaseball because of poor treatment, he might dislikes greaseball for his treatment of Dinah, he probably just wants to get the adrenaline high of betraying him in the first place. Maybe to prove that he's important and needed because if he doesn't help, greaseball will lose. And he wants to hold it over him for his own personal desire of self importance. Who knows. He's a complicated little clown he is.
Ok anyway yeah I'm like the #3 Dinahboose supporter I will draw them more hehbehehehee
