hhh i know we're getting malnourished again. i mean, we were missing a lot of vitamins to begin with, but we literally arent eating enough to get any actual energy.
depressive episodes are more like. brain tired. this isnt that. i'm exhausted. everything is a drag and i felt like passing out for all of today. i actually black out whenever i stand and my stomach constantly feels like its gnawing itself into pieces. I almost buckled while just standing on solid ground.

I have this problem with aspiration from dysphagia meaning basically when I swallow things I tend to unintentionally breathe them in and it usually only happens when I’m drinking liquids but just now I choked on some Chinese food and then I blew my nose and all that came out was a single grain of rice .

Can I please just say I don't want to drink alcohol without having to make up an excuse to go with it? I know myself well enough that combined with my want/need to feel something other than boringness and depression, however the alcohol may make me feel; if it makes me feel alive and happier, I would become too reliant on it , such is the reason why I tend to collect pins/buttons without any real reason to, because the physical piece makes me feel better in a way. But no, I can't say that. Because it's too mouthy and too deep and personal to tell my coworkers of all people who stop asking me why not several times a year. "Oh I can't, not with the medicine I take" is the best excuse I'll ever provide I suppose.

They need to put me in an ad for Advil gel capsules, because yesterday I was sobbing on the floor and this morning I was in so much pain I couldn't talk, but now I feel like a normal human person and also could probably do a backflip (I would break my neck and tear my ACL but still)

It's like those tacos that have a fuck ton of butter and lemon and salsa and who knows what else i love them and I would absolutely eat them but having even one bite means i am staying in the bathroom for 4 hours straight
HKJDGHEJKGEJKHGKKEJKG TRUEEEEEEEE god that's like when i got a huge headache from listening to this song on loop back when it was uploaded and i just. didnt stop. my ears were literally warm and probably red and i just didnt stop until i went to bed
nowadays that song does nothing to me

Home from the hospital btw, if anyone’s curious. No closure on what’s causing my symptoms but they ruled out everything serious so that’s good

Solidarity with the GERD. I realise it’s probably not top of your list but I have that and it’s an absolute nightmare. My disordered eating is due to a couple of things but that is about 50% of it. So on that level, I know where you’re coming from <3 hope you get some good news where you can
GERD *is* a nightmare. But I am thankfully well medicated on a dual PPI + H2 Receptor Antagonist approach. The pharmacist used to be like 'you can't take both of these at the same time' and it's like, my whole family has medication-resistant GERD, we need the heavy hitters and to just live with the side effects (like permanent Vit D and Vit 12 supplementation because I don't absorb nutrients properly anymore).
It doesn't cause me physical pain anymore, and I've managed to dodge having the Nissen Fundoplication surgery (my grandma needed to have it *twice* and is still on high doses of PPI), but I do have a chronic cough sometimes (this was what made us not realise I had lung issues for a long time, but of course GERD can cause those too, via aspirating stomach acid into the lungs :( ), and there's other stuff it causes.
It's one of those kind of 'common' chronic illnesses that is just the worst, but not many people talk about it. I'm *very* fortunate that I can still eat some of my favourite foods. Not many people realise that like, just about *everything* triggers GERD and it can be a fast road to extremely restrictive eating (where both not eating and eating can cause gastric agony, but some foods definitely make it worse) - hearing you can never have most spices, herbs, coffee, tea, chocolate, fruits, vegetables, high fibre, low fibre, high sugar, sugar replacements, heavy proteins, etc. ever again is like 'what's left?'
We used to joke about the 'white diet.' White bread. Bananas. Steamed chicken. White rice. If it was white, it was probably okay. But the problem with that, is those foods are terrible for so many other things, lmao.
Between the IBS and the GERD, I'm very lucky that I found medications that worked for *one* of them. Nothing's been effective for the IBS. But I was very forward re: GERD medication and was lucky to have a good doctor and live in a country where those meds aren't too expensive. So I can have fruits and vegetables and spices and herbs etc. Have to be super careful with spicy food and citrus fruits still though, and dark chocolate.
At any rate, I am very sorry anon, I think I'm very lucky that even though I have this disease, it is well-managed (it's kind of ironic, but most of the prescription meds I take is actually for this! Which is why it is so well-managed). When it's not well-managed it's fucking agony. And having watched all my other family members go through different forms of it, it's just... oof. It's like the family curse. :(
