(someone please make me stop overthinking this show.

also heavy paraphrasing of dialogues bear with me.)

bad buddy and the triggers for feelings and confessions

so another thing i was thinking about was ep 7 pran saying "we're both tight lipped people. we'll never reveal our feelings unless something triggers it".

and once you think about it he's right.

let's take ep 1.

so the conflict of the story is set up here. their parents are enemies, their friends cant breathe unless theyre at each other's necks. pran and pat don't wanna fight though.

here that's the trigger. their unwillingness to fight each other for whatever hidden reasons. and that reveals the feelings of comraderie.

"i don't want to fight you". being the expression of that.

now ep 2.

here we have a continuation of that and the supposed wooing pat does of his neighbour. but the real conflict is pran hearing pat's dad talk about him. here pran says "he's right. i am sorry if i caused you trouble. i'm moving out."

theres a lot pran silently acknowledges here. not just their present situation but also the past. he probably thinks he has burdened pat in the past as well. and thats a lot to confess.

pat doesnt pick up on that because he doesnt think pran has done anything that ever troubled him.

pat coming to pran and offering to move out instead is another revelation. that pat doesnt think pran has ever been trouble for him. that hes grateful for pran.

pran saying he wants pat to keep owing him...well. he wants a reason pat sticks to him.

anyways ep 3.

oooh boi. so ep 3 is the bus stop, the project proposal, the olive branch from engg to archi and the guitar scene.

loads of triggers for feeling confessions here. it being pat doing the most here, we see these confessions theough actions.

im sorry. i want to help. of course they'll like it because i like it.

the guitar scene speaks for itself. pran doesnt like being in debt. his trigger is not wanting another thread of gratitude and happiness to be linked to pat. but asking "have you eaten?" is another silent confession. i care about you .

and then pat finally gives pran the guitar and lol what can i even say.

"i like to see your face.............when you lose."

(yeah lmao that wasnt fooling anyone pat, but moving on.)

now ep 4.

well ink is here and ink is queer but these two fools dont know that so thats their trigger for feelings in this ep. and well...its heavy.

there's jealousy and guilt. both pat and pran are jealous. pat of pran cause he think he likes ink and pran of ink cause he thinks pat likes ink. pat feels guilty of skipping the bus stop inspection cause he knew he had lied to pran.

lying to pran eats at him more than normal and so he goes with food. and then theres wound tending. (this man really called his rival cute and didnt even blink).

then the actual match and pat is confused. he sees pran and ink joking around and smiling and he's confused cause ink does that with him too so why does he feel so off balance? he concludes its probably because pran seems to like ink and ink seems to like pran.

he doesnt realise its probably cause pran seems to laugh and smile around her but not him. he projects his jealousy towards ink onto pran and then the bedroom scene happens.

and well confessions are definitely made.

pran straight up says no, he doesnt like ink. pat is relieved. why? if pran was just his rival and friend, what would he have done if pran said yes?

his sigh of relief was relief that pran said no. not because of anything else but the fact that pran does not like ink romantically.

"if you were ink would you like me?"

i dont think pat himself knew what he was asking here and what he expected to hear. it certainly wasn't pran and his curiously shaky voice going "i hate you."

then we have ep 5.

the trigger is obvious. pat is trying hard to bring back his crush on ink. its not working somehow. and then his oh moment happens and that triggers their biggest confession of all.

"i hate it when you sang it with them."

"dont do this to me pat."

"it was so terribly lonely."

"do you want to be friends?" "no."

notice how they still haven't actually revealed what they feel out loud thought they both know it.

that brings us to ep 6.

pat being on that bus is a clear admission. i'll fight for this no matter what i risk. they confess that they dont yet know how to talk kindly to each other, but that they both would want to be their selves who live in a world where their parents weren't bitter enemies.

and pat, that genius, loveable boy says, well let's do it our way! and makes the bet.

and then ep 7 happens. and pran acknowledges what they both know. they won't confess with words unless something makes them do it.

but pat already knows that. he knows and he also knows that hes ready to lose- ready to be the first one to lose in that criteria.

he does and now its in the open. now he doesnt need to keep confessing through actions. he can use words.

ep 8 and 9 shows this in full bloom. now each sorrow, hurt of slightest discomfort of the other is a trigger for them to say what they feel, what theyre thinking. theyre attuned to each other and each action of the other is now a trigger that makes them feel.

and so pran's observation does hold true. except now they are each other's triggers for being honest about how they feel in their words and actions. they dont need to be quiet about it anymore.

I feel like it also heavily depends on what chara you running for elden ring. Like I'm going full int noodle arms and I basically tri shot most bossed, sometimes they just bug and give up and state at me un movingly while I spam the only 1 usable sorcery in the game.

Some bosses yea are just continuous spam of attack and u just go guess I'll die. Or fucking crucible knights type enemies that just keep their shit shield up forever then stab you real quick before putting the shield back up and I'm here like 8D

Btw yea the death debuff doesn't curse you just... Insta kills you like ds3.

anon this is gonna be a LONG response cause you just gave me a valid reason to ramble for 50 paragraphs so i will

i currently work with a str/fai build and will probably make at least 1 more character with a dex/int build. i had no idea full int builds were so stronk but im thinking of trying one out at some point.

Srs analysis below:

Honestly I'm just a little sad with the state of enemy encounters in the game. Limgrave, weeping peninsula & liurnia largely have the same enemy encounters in the open world with very little variation, and a Lot of the mobs I've encountered up till now rely on being in a group or homing attacks.

Find a soldier in the wild? He blows his horn and gets his buddies. Find a dog or rat? It barks to alert everyone around, which I'm honestly less likely to care about because while theyve been around since demons souls. Those misbegotten cunts see you and blow their horn and every single one of them comes running. That room in Godricks castle with that one exile soldier who blows his horn and then all the sleepy dudes stand up. The courtyard where theyre all heaped up Even the fucking bears in those woods Walk around in liurnia only for some weird bent over dude to appear and spawn 10 more and they all use homing missiles as well The cartwheeling frogs Those dudes in the academy courtyard where its like oh theres one blue guy just kidding theres 15 now

And now I've entered Caelid and theres these amazingly cool looking big dog enemies and all they do is fucking bark and alert the rest again oh and also theres soldiers again I guess. And the frustrating thing is that, aside from the runebears, pretty much all of the above enemies are complete pushovers on their own. I don't feel like I'm fighting enemies with interesting attack patterns or who pose a serious threat, I feel like I'm in that one room in pokemon gold/silver/crystal where every line you cross spawns 3 incredibly weak rocket trainers.

I get that this is necessary when you include spirit summons in the game but I'd rather they just balanced it a little bit? The mechanics arent bad on their own it's just that I really don't like how many of the fights seem to rely on it. It's like almost every fight relies on everything but making the enemies interesting to fight in order to make them hard.

Rather than making the casters have more health & more interesting moves, just sticking 5 of them in a small hallway so you get to avoid 5 missiles at once should make them hard. Boss fight being 2 enemies that die way too quickly? Add dragon rot to the floor! The dog and bird enemies twice your size die in 4 hits? Just make them alert the rest! Stick a big knight with the same moveset as all the other ones in a small corridor to make him hard!

Maybe it's because they made the more interesting enemies all field bosses but to me it just feels like their actual non-field boss enemy pool is super boring because of that. The erdtree avatar doesn't need to be a field boss. The bell bearing hunter doesn't need to be either, though he does need to be tuned down. Grafted Scion? Seriously? Why are some of the pumpkin heads bosses? The mariner guys, too.

Siofria was the first New new area i encountered I feel and its like. theres a million rock men and you're like "oh shit I wonder what these do" and the answer is jack shit. Theyre only hard because theres 20 of them on one staircase. Then you go out and those snipers 2 shot you from a million miles away with their homing arrows that are literally impossible to dodge.

I'm only at caelid but it feels like there's no difficulty progression in the enemies. Everything is either a pushover or two taps you, there is no inbetween. I'm sure the other big non-optional bosses are gonna be good. Godrick was amazing but following it up with rennala after all I listed above just left a sour taste in my mouth cause her boss fight is just...unfun imo

Alegreya: fun fact, her initial reason for wanting to take alice with her was because she saw a doctor and was like "sweet. free healthcare" and made an empty promise to defeat the necromancer so alice would join her. Over time though, she started to actually care about alice as a person, and appreciate the fact that alice was looking out for her at all

If Alegreya were to become a recruitable companion, I think you would have to pay her meat first lol. and maybe at first a bunch of her level up events are paying her more meat in exchange for improving her stats, until eventually you dont have to pay her meat anymore because you've grown close enough <3 and she even starts getting back meat for you

Carimus: He wanted to travel alone, especially since he had done Boring Springs last out of the three protags in 2b1ew, so half of his options were already on the road lol. Gary happened to be not killed by the others, so he kinda just started following Carimus around. Idk, maybe he smelled funny lol. And carimus just couldnt get Gary to leave him alone, so Carimus just begrudgingly let Gary tag along. Plus, Carimus was already fluent in goblintongue before Boring Springs so thats a bonus.

He would be so hard to make your companion. You would have to encounter him several times in wander events until finally you get a stat check where you ask him to tag along with you (AKA pov youre gary sfdjhkfhsdjkskfjdhkdsf) I think he'd also be one of the only pardners that follows you into el vibrato rooms and comments on them. he levels up when you defeat el vibrato drones

Maggie & MBC: bunching these two together since they both share a companion (Obie obie obie obie obie). The main reason why they started traveling with obie is mainly because maggie and obie instrument buddies what more can i say. And also the whole thing of obie helping maggie figure out instruments in the first place since flo didn't have any experience beforehand lol. and then when mbc starts getting hashtag evil, obie stays despite his hobo instincts telling him to book it because he doesnt wanna leave maggie to deal with this alone. also technically mbc gets an additional companion (molly) for when she splits up to do mainly mob stuff but i havent really thought much about that

theyre probably really easy to get to be your companions, just be friendly to them lol. theyre a two for one btw <3 mbc is the one that actually does stuff in fights.

Bonus bonus: I DO HAVE A !!!! OC THAT IS INTENDED TO BE COMPANION its jimmy <3 they are so so so nice and friend shaped. you probably find him in like gray county or something. hes just in the middle of nowhere mopping the floor lol. or maybe you specifically find him at the uhhh hellstrom factory place? i think thatd be funky. you could either beat him up and miss out on jimmy companion or you could pass a low mysticality check to realize theyre not actually here to hinder you in any way lol.

it would go similarly to this post but not exactly because i just set that post in like a hypothetical void with no setting in mind. fun fact i actually made that post into a thing you can play but theres like a high chance the site wont even load lol and also its one of those wips you just never get around to finishing

his main weapon is a shadow mop which deals spooky damage AND is effective against shadow creatures. main attack is just smack opponent with mop lol and other action is to leave a puddle in front of a party member, which causes an enemy to slip and take damage before they do their attack on that party member

anyways vignette 1 would be at government valley actually, where jimmy puts in his 1 second notice of resignation and escapes narrowly, which boosts his speed. and then second vignette is at sit where they get the janitor job they actually wanted! this unlocks a third action which is uhhhh idk probably something cool

jimmys ending would be he simply explodes the shadowcaster because hes so cool and awesome /j

Kuroo’s Secret Relationship

Request: hello👉🏻👈🏻 i had a vision and i cant tell if this is dumb or cute but IMAGINE kuroo and his karasuno manager gf at training camp but nobody knows theyre datin so they just keep it a secret so during the camp they try to find time to meet but if one of them is free the other one is busy. so during sleepy time she gets up to like poo or sumn and kuroo suprises her but she didnt know it was him so she punches him but then she feels bad and the next day everyone thinks he got in a fight I LOV U❤️

Author’s Note: Thank you for requesting!!! I am a total simp for Kuroo idk if you guys can tell. This is just a cute little scenario and honestly, I’d let Kuroo punch ME but that’s none of my business. ALSO requests are still open, I’ll close them once I reach a certain amount.

Kuroo watched from afar as you talked amongst some of his teammates that were practically drooling at the pools of your feet. He knew he wasn’t being subtle at all as his eyes raked up your figure but he didn’t know how much more of this he could take.

You two had been dating for a while but you both thought it would be important to keep your relationship a secret for the time being. Kuroo didn’t want to make it seem like he would be putting volleyball as a second priority to his team and you didn’t want it to look like you were fooling around with one of Karasuno’s “enemies”.

It was fun sneaking off behind corners for private makeout sessions and sharing secret glances towards each other but as Kuroo watched you get blatantly hit on in front of him, he felt like he was losing his cool.

The worst part was that since the training camp started, the two of you had no alone time and it was eating away at the both of you. You felt like you couldn’t even smile at Kuroo when he did really well against your own Karasuno without exposing your relationship and frankly, the two of you were both at your wits end.

“ You’re making it obvious,” Kuroo turned around and looked down at Kenma, who’s attention was on his gaming console,” just go over there.”

Okay, Kuroo wasn’t supposed to tell anyone but Kenma was an exception. The two had been friends for so long and Kuroo trusted him with his life, plus Kenma was never the type to gossip.

“ Are you seeing this? They’re practically undressing her with their eyes! I can tell from here that Lev is into her just from the way he’s standing,” Kuroo kept his gaze on you as you let out a laugh and even though Kuroo didn’t hear the joke, he knew your laugh wasn’t even genuine,” I might actually kill them, would you help me bury the body?”

Kenma sighed as he continued to keep his attention to his game,” You’re hopeless.”

“ We would need to dig a bigger hole, Lev has a pretty big head,” Kuroo mumbled as you excused yourself to step away.

As soon as you turned away from the boys, your smile dropped and Kuroo could visibly see how annoyed you were with the conversation.

It made Kuroo feel better that you didn’t like getting hit on but it wasn’t like you could stop them, they all thought you were single. If they would’ve known you were dating the captain of Nekoma, their advances would stop but that wasn’t an option at the moment.

You looked over at Kuroo and your whole demeanor shifted. You gave him a big smile before you looked away and pulled out your phone to text him.

Y/N: pls tell me you saw that- i couldn’t wait for that conversation to be over, lev and yamamoto are going to be the death of me

Tetsuro: trust me, they’ll wish they were dead once im done with them

Tetsuro: r u free rn? I checked this morning and the janitors closet is unlocked maybe we can sneak off to have some alone time ;)

You looked up from your phone and up towards Kuroo who had the biggest smirk on his face. Before you could text back, Nekoma’s manager announced that Nekoma was next up to play for court two.

Kuroo groaned out loud, of course the universe was against him.

Tetsuro: im sorry baby, maybe later tonight then?

Y/N: that’s fine - good luck!

You watched as Kuroo put his phone away and sent you a quick wink before heading over to the empty court.

For the rest of the day, you two hardly even had the chance to share a glance between each other. Whenever he was playing on a court, Karasuno had their own match and whenever he was free, you had manager duties with the other girls.

Even during dinner, you were so busy running around doing last-minute tasks before bed that Kuroo never got to say goodnight to you. By the time you finished, Kuroo was already in bed snoring away with his teammates.

In the middle of the night, you woke up to Tanaka kicking you in his sleep and in retaliation, you grabbed your pillow and swung it over his face.

Tanaka only grumbled and flipped to face the other way, still in deep sleep whereas you were now wide awake. You rubbed your tired eyes but as you tried to fall back asleep, all you could think about was how dry your mouth was.

You contemplated on getting water before you sat up from your sleeping bag and walked out of the room silently, trying your best not to step on any of the sleeping boys. Once you shut the door behind you, you made your way down the hallway to the water fountain in a tired manner.

You weren’t terrified of the dark but the thought of going down a dark hallway at a school you weren’t familiar with was unsettling to say the least and you wish you brought your phone for some light.

When you reach the water fountain, you bent down and as you started to drink the water, you felt like something was off. Before you could turn around, you felt something touch your waist and every hair on the back of your neck stood up.

You whipped around and when you saw a tall and dark figure, your first instinct was to scream and swing your arm out to defend yourself. You made contact with the figure and once you heard the groan, you knew exactly who it was.

“ Tetsuro! I’m sorry! I’m so sorry, you scared me! Are you okay!” You said as Kuroo held his cheek in pain.

He couldn’t believe you had actually punched him but he was even more surprised you landed a good punch in the dark,” See baby, I told you taking those boxing lessons would pay off but damn, you punch hard.”

“ You know you can’t sneak up on me like that, I’m jumpy!” You sighed as you squinted to see Kuroo’s face in the dark,” what are you doing up this late?”

Kuroo kept one hand on his throbbing cheek as the other reached down to pull out his phone,” I texted you to meet me in front of the janitors closet cause I wanted to have some quality time with my beautiful, sweet, girlfriend who I thought would never hurt me but instead of kisses, I got socked in the face!”

You knew Kuroo was only teasing you but you felt so guilty. You wrapped your arms around his large frame and pressed your face into his chest and apologized in a muffled tone,” I’m the worst girlfriend ever.”

Kuroo let out a laugh as he weaved his fingers through your bedhead and planted a kiss on the top of your head,” Don’t say that. If it makes you feel any better, you could always just knock out guys who try to hit on you now.”

You smiled up at your boyfriend as he took the chance to lean down and kiss you softly, his hands wrapped around your waist to pull you closer to him.

Kuroo smirked against your lips as you moved your hands up to lightly tug on his hair,” You know, the janitors closet locks from the inside.”

“ Are you suggesting we have sex in a dirty closet? What if someone walks by and hears us?”

“ Get your head out of the gutter, I never said anything about sex,” Kuroo acted shocked as he tucked a strand of hair before leaning down to whisper in your ear,” unless you think you can be quiet for me.”

You rolled your eyes as you grabbed Kuroo’s hand and led him into the janitors closet right beside the restrooms,” Whatever, we both know you’re the loud one.”

“ We’ll see about that kitten.”

The next morning, Kuroo went to practice normally but not without weird murmurs from his teammates. At first, he thought his secret was out and maybe you had left hickeys across his neck but it was an entirely different mark that he had forgotten about.

“ Woah, buddy, did you get into a fight? I’m pretty blind but I’m pretty sure you didn’t have that bruise at dinner yesterday,” Bokuto said in awe as he tried to touch the large bruise that was on Kuroo’s cheek,” that is a bruise! Akaashi, come look at this!”

Kuroo swatted his hand away and used his phone camera to get a better look at his face. Turns out, you had punched him way harder than he had initially thought.

Kuroo couldn’t even think of a lie in time so he tried to reveal as little as possible,” Who am I going to fight around here?”

“ I don’t know...has anyone seen Lev?” Akaashi asked right as Karasuno entered through the gym doors.

“Kuroo! Did you kill Lev? You can be honest with me I wouldn’t tell a soul!” Bokuto shouted loudly as a few heads turned in their direction.

Your ears perked up once you heard Kuroo’s name and as you turned to look over at the boys, your heart immediately dropped when you saw the bruise you had left Kuroo.

Without thinking, you dug into one of the coolers and pulled out an icepack, even though it was a little too late to ice it down.

You rushed over to Kuroo, not caring that some people had their attention on you as you pressed it against his face,” That looks really bad, I’m so- um what happened?”

“ Kuroo killed Lev!” Bokuto teased as Akaashi gave him a stern look that quickly shut him up.

You sighed as you looked up at Kuroo and bit the inside of your cheek before whispering softly,” I think we should tell everyone before you get in trouble. You know Nekoma has a no-tolerance policy for fighting and I don’t want it to be a rumor that you got into a fight with someone.”

“ I know, you’re right but can we wait until the rest of my teammates get here?” Kuroo asked as you gave him a confused look,” I want them to be jealous just for a bit.”

You shook your head with a smile as Kuroo placed his hand over yours that was holding up the icepack,” Okay, just for a bit.”

PEOPLE HE TAKES UNDER HIS WING ! idk what this could entail maybe he jus likes one of u youngins … doesn’t want to see u in the same path he went down, tries to steer u straight a little bit. stuff like that. very dad like as if he has a maternal bone in his body.

EX FIANCE ! heheh .. i plan on making this a wc possibly, but i like the idea of someone who he dated for a long period of time after he graduated and left irving, eventually who he proposed two. maybe his addiction could have caused a strain, maybe it was because he was traveling so much, or some other reason but then they broke it off. they came back to irving for one reason or another, he came back bc he’s sober now, there’s tension. kind of based on exile by taylor swift + bon iver .

EMPLOYER ! this man needs a job. so ........ hands on hips who is hiring.

FRIENDS FROM HIGH SCHOOL ! if anyone grew up in irving / or was in hs around the time he was, it could be quite fun to reconnect. old friends yadda yadda yadda.

What makes me happy about them: they are strangers who click together from the moment they meet. they’re too much alike and that attracts them to each other

What makes me sad about them: ultimately they’re mortal enemies no matter how conflicted their feelings are towards each other, or how similar they are. The tragedy is that even if their feelings are not romantic, they still see each other as friends even though their ideologies go against each other

there, maddie bloomed into an entirely different person

she was no longer the kid who’s only redeeming quality was her bank account. she was no longer bullied for being adopted, bullied for not being loved by her father. there weren’t any whispers behind her back on how she and her father are murderers

now, everyone knows her. she’s the maddie kane. the one you see frequently on instagram, twitter, and snapchat. the consistent dean’s lister of her major. the secretary of kappa kappa tau. she’s that girl you’ll see walking around dressed in the most expensive clothes, talking to everyone and anyone she sees

maddie dedicated her life to become perfect, to manipulate everyone’s perception of her to be this flawless, intelligent, beautiful girl

but in reality, she still sees herself as an abandoned girl, unloved and unimportant. alone and lonely.

You are free to read and comment about the comic all week at your own pace, so stop on by whenever it suits your schedule! Remember, though, that while we allow constructive criticism, our focus is to have fun and appreciate the comic. Below you will find four questions to get you started on the discussion. QUESTION 1. What has been your favorite scene in the comic so far? What specifically did you like about it?

I think Sydney is my favourite, but that is liable to change at any minute cuz I like Astyr and Rana and Tenge a lot too lol

1. I think I like lot of the more recent scenes the best. I really like the emotional depth that's happening between the main characters, specifically Astyr and Sydney. The scenes where Sydney was actively working with Astyr are some of my favorite, just because it shows a lot of character growth. 2. I like Tenge a lot (I'm a sucker for nerds), but I think I like Astyr and Sydney the best! Mostly I like their dynamic and the emotional development that has started between them. Overall, the cast is really fun because they all have something unique about them. 3. I don't really have much speculation on how they became bound together, but I do think that they're going to eventually become unbound from each other, but I think that at least Rana will choose to stay with Astyr after becoming unbound. 4. Again, I haven't speculated too much on who they work for, but my guess on why they're intent on following around Astyr is he's caused some sort of significant disruption in magic before (it seems that he does that frequently enough), or he's important in some sort of larger plot that he's not aware of.

QUESTION 5. Do you believe that Tenge will destroy his own Morphid father? If not, what do you think he’ll do alternatively? Whether he does it or not, how do you think further contact with his father will affect him? What about his relationship with Astyr?

1) its hard to pick so im picking two. the first one is the scene where sydney is confronted with the fact not all demshull can do magic. i felt at that point in the comic thered been a lot of build up for sydney being confronted with her own racism, and i felt that moment was a great pay off. especially cause sydney's facial expressions in the moment are just fantastic and like she got hit with a ton of bricks. for the second fave scene though, the one where astyr and sydney first meet rana and rana discovers that basically her life is a lie. there was something fantastic in the pacing and atmosphere that really drove home the fact that this was a life changing moment for rana. 2) Astyr. I like how Astyr is sort of this gray character where he's not terrible yet he causes lots of property damage that makes you think Sydney is kind of right about him. And I really just like this complicated dynamic cause it makes you feel unsure about whether to trust him or not. I also love though that deep down hes willing to risk a lot of people he cares about. 3) i actually think it was rana who bound them all, not astyr. theres one moment where rana is looking off into the distance getting internally emotional and then suddenly the alarm about essence going off triggers. and rana is shown to basically be kind of weird where thats concerned, so i think she inadvertantly bound them so she could leave with them. Regardless, I consider it inevitable that they'll become unbounded. While Rana and Astyr will probably be fine, Sydney I think is gonna be most affected. Cause at that point she's either going have to destroy the friendship or admit that Astyr isn't so bad. I assume she'll choose the latter after all the build up, but itll certainly strengthen the relationships since the relationships will have to become by choice and not force.

4) i actually think hannah and vuudo are working for whoever organized the experiments all the half-bred children were part of. cause hannah seems like the type whod do that. so obviously if that's the case, that's why theyre watching astyr. hes their favorite experiment kid and maybe someday hell do something useful. as for kazar, idk. at the moment it just feels like kazar is just doing generic spying, possibly charged with making sure there's no peace to be made (hence why yanell is of interest to her). As for the effect of hte main trio, I think theyre just gonna become public enemy number one for both groups for various reasons, cause theyre clearly super powered weirdos who know too much and should be stopped. 5) I don't think Tenge will go through with it. He'll certainly try, but I think Astyr's pleas are gonna haunt him and he'll hesitate wondering if there is some merit to his father. However, I kind of think Tenge will banish him and still not talk to him. Overall, I think Tenge is gonna start questioning his place in life more. Wonder why he continues when he has to hide out avoiding everyone. As for his relationship with Astyr, eh, it'll probably continue to just be strained cause Astyr has bigger fish to fry right now I think.

I might steal that ] ... did you code that website yourself or do you hire somebody to do that?

Thanks so much! My coder buddy Kemayo built me a very simple webcomic CMS, and the store functionality is powered by Gumroad, but all the HTML/CSS was done by me!

Thanks so much! I really had a lot of fun with the colors in this whole scene, so I'm happy you like them! For me: a) Sombulus was a NaNoMango project (like a NaNoWriMo community except for comics) that I started when I was putting off what I thought was going to be my bigger, better story. The main trio of characters and the idea of world-hopping to lots of weird magical places just wouldn't leave me alone. The shape of it has changed a lot, but I'm really happy with where it's gone and it's exciting to be dropping some of the big big spoilers I've had in my head for years! b) I'm going through a lot of Act 3 right now preparing things for print, so I've been staring at pages I did 5 years ago a lot recently. Part of how I designed Sombulus was because I knew it would take a long time, I wanted to incorporate the idea of each world being in a different style. When I didn't have a lot of practice, it was much easier to get the story going in black/white until I got faster at art, but it's also nice to have a built in reason to try different software and brushes. Of course, there's a lot of loose and sloppy anatomy in the past, but I'm the kind of person who really values seeing that as a sign of growth so I'm trying not to update that much and just focus on making parts of the story clearer and more supportive of where it eventually went.

(I know this chat is specifically focused on the comic of the week, so if you want answers from people who aren't me, you might want to ask in #general maybe!)

Thanks, Rae, it's been... whew... a while! Nanomango is a good little group project, though now that I've been at this comic for 9 years, I really think trying to do 30 pages in 30 days (even as sketches) was never going to work for me, and it's never fun to feel like you've failed to meet a goal. But one thing that I think was really good for me was participating year after year gave me sort of a drafting process? Letting what I had done stew and simmer for a few months let me see everything with fresh eyes when I came back, so I could come back the next time and focus on the parts I wanted and cut the parts that didn't seem like good directions anymore.

I read the same way, but yeah I’ve been curious about Rana too. Considering some of the recent pages have shown that Sydney has a very strange origin story, it might be safe to assume that Rana is the same. I like that Rana seems to often get the group out of trouble too. Rana has a lot of mystery around her that makes me intrigued to see what the full extent of her abilities are, since I think there’s a lot more to her

QUESTION 7. What do you think happened in the past that ruined Yanell’s peace talk progress? Do you believe that the Kanites and Demshul will continue their fear-mongering ways, or will Yanell advance peace again? What is your reasoning?

@Kezhound - What it Takes I love this Rana is a machine theory. That is so far from something I would guess, yet would love to see be true to a degree. It fits with all the symptoms.

6) I think Rana is some mega essence container or something. Like connected to the origin of it all or something like that. It adds up to me why Morphids are so super affected by her presence and why she'd be locked up in the library. You don't just leave your essence power house unattended. You lock them away where they can be "safe." As for future affects, I mean I figure at some point someone somewhere is gonna be like "Hey wait a second weird magic stuff? Isn't that the person we locked in the library?" And then more manhunts ensue. 7) I'm taking a stab in the dark and saying I think it's direct sabotage. Like Yanell's disappearance and entrapement wasn't just happen stance. There is a shadow puppet somewhere making sure that no peace will ever be had. I do think they'll get to peace though. Mostly because I'm an optimist and assume peace will prevail. And also because their entire conflict seems to be based more around fear mongering than actual things they should be that mad about.

@RebelVampire I'm guessing that the "Big Bad Boss" has some ulterior motive/motives besides just indefinitely extending the war, whether the war is a side effect or that they will profit directly from it (I've just been reading back through the old Akatsuki storyline of Naruto) I have no guess.

QUESTION 8. Given what’s shown of Astyr’s past, what do you think the experimenters were attempting to do? Why were they targeting half-breed children like Astyr, Cioara, and Tenge? What was their ultimate goal having Astyr explore the Weave?

8) I feel like theres some power source theyre searching for in the Weave. Maybe a person, maybe just a thing, but they need someone super good at exploring the Weave to find it. I cant fathom why though, albeit i doubt it's anything good. As for why half-breeds, I think it's because they have a different sort of connection with essence and the Weave. Like we've already seen how Rana's strange relationship with essence affects Cioara, and i dont think that's entirely on Rana. I think it's just who Cioara's own strange relationship with it too since plenty of others interact with Rana fine. Either way, I think the experimenters are just trying to figure out if their atypical nature has practical uses for stuff like that.

8. I think that they were probably recruiting/kidnapping anyone with odd powers, and those three just happened to be half breeds. I think that they briefly refered to other compounds? As for what they are looking for, at this point it could be a whole lot of different things, but a magic/essence/mana/etc store is quite likely.

They probably will, it has been established that Sydney is dissolving: a) Sydney is one of the main characters. b) we're right in the middle of finding out her backstory. She is finding reality at odds with her brainwashing (mosty through experiencing Astyr's memorys) and will have to come to terms with that.

3) my interpretation is that binding is just something that happens when a demshul tries to bring someone world-hopping. since astyr is inexperienced, he goofed up and brought sydney along for the ride.

4) hannah's doing a truman show starring astyr. no further explanation needed. for kazar, I'm guessing she's just working for the government as a spy in general.

looking at #5, i'm wondering... is tenge & ciora's father a morphid, or the morphid? morphids seem to endlessly divide, and neither tenge nor the morphids seem to have a "hive mind". is it possible that there's just one morphid, and it happens to be in a lot of places at once?

@snuffysam From what I've observed so far, the Morphid (and Tenge's) multiplication works vaguely like Naruto's shadow clones- when they split all of them have the same base memorys, they have separate experiences and basically act like different people (that are clones of each other ), and when they "regroup" the single has all the experiences of the doubles.(edited)

i assume theyre a single being, but tbf i dont discount the possibility theres multiple morphid originals. in the sense that there were multiple "original" people who split into morphids. just cause it still fits with astyr saying one of the ones that recognize me. cause i highly doubt if theres multiple originals they know whose morphid is whos. again tho, just not discounting the possibility. i do get more of the sense that they were once a single entity.

9) yes because narratively i cant forsee the comic semi-killing off a main character quite yet. and sydney has unresolved matters as well, like her meeting with her old mentor and such. idk if the experience will change her view on demshul, but i think shell come to terms that astyr has some inner demons, is a weirdo, but also has a good heart. and that he isnt out to see sydney's demise. 10) im looking forward to more of everything. i wanna see all the inner turmoils, and i especially want to find more hints as to what the deal with rana is. cause astyr and sydney dont seem to care much rana is a weirdo outside of when she doesnt eat, so i will care enough for the both of them.

Stray thoughts

1) So this is how Faith is doing as the leader…

…and this is how Buffy is doing as the outcast Slayer…

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I wonder who’s the boss… (maybe we should ask Abed.)

2) I don’t like seeing Faith hurt, but I do get a very sick (I admit it) satisfaction at seeing all these girls hurt and scared because they kicked Buffy out and they screwed everything up in the worst possible fashion. I know that by having Faith lead them into yet another trap the writers were trying to prove the point that what happened at the vineyard could’ve happened to anyone and that it wasn’t Buffy’s fault (Buffy will make this same point herself later on the episode.) Both Buffy and Faith were trying to do what they thought was best, yet it backfired. Shit happens yada yada yada. Yet I just can’t help but feel personally vindicated when I see Faith and the potentials fuck everything up so spectacularly.

On the other hand, not only was Buffy able to pull herself together after the group (and her friends! Her family!) kicked her out and made her feel like the worst piece of shit in the whole world, but she also managed to A) get the scythe and B) make Caleb nervous, which was a first. So yeah. #teamBuffy

3) So why exactly were the Scoobies looking for Buffy? I mean, didn’t they kick her out literally the day before? And now they’re suddenly worried about her or something? The only person who followed Buffy after they all kicked her out was Faith. Faith! Do you see how wrong/ironic that this? Do you see how painful it must’ve been for Buffy not to have NONE OF HER FRIENDS – not Xander, not Willow, not Giles, not even her own sister! – go after her to see if she was okay? To ask her where she was going or what she was going to do? The only person who showed any concern whatsoever about her was probably the only person she would’ve labeled a potential enemy.

Damn you all, I’m still pissed off. I hate this. I hate having to feel this way about the characters I’ve loved for seven seasons in the FINAL EPISODES OF THE SHOW. It just feels so wrong, but I can’t help but HATE THEM. What the hell was this fucking writing choice? I hate it. I hate everything about it.

4) If I have to say something in favor of Kennedy is this, when shit hit the fan, she was the only one who wasn’t screaming like a moron and who was actually trying to fight off the Turok-Han. So yeah. The girl got spunk.

5) But she’s nothing compared to our designated BAMF.

6) No one is kicking Buffy out now, HUH? HUH???????????????????

8) And this is exactly why they shouldn’t have kicked her out or “rebelled” against her or whatever the fuck they thought they were doing.

9) While I do appreciate the pun and the side glances between Buffy and Willow…

I still feel it’s very wrong they’re all just talking and Giles is playing around with the scythe as if the last time they’d been together they HADN’T HUMILIATED BUFFY AND KICKED HER OUT OF HER OWN FUCKING HOUSE???? LIKE SERIOUSLY??? In Willow’s own words, you're not gonna jokey-rhyme your way out of this one.

Like, I know the apocalypse takes precedence, but maybe say “sorry for kicking you out” and “thank you for saving us AGAIN”.

11) Again, I get the same feeling with Xander. Like, did they all suddenly forget they had left Buffy alone and kicked her out of her own house? Xander is all like, “I don’t need you to protect me just because I lost an eye” but literally a day before he was telling her it was HER fault he’d lost it, and using that as a justification not only for removing her from her role as a leader but also TO KICK HER OUT OF HER OWN HOUSE. And now it’s just like nothing ever happened? How is that possible? How is literally no one apologizing to Buffy? And not only is he not apologizing, but Buffy is telling him that he’s her heart and the reason she’s still alive, which okay, it’s all kind of true, but he’s also the guy WHO BLAMED YOU FOR LOSING HIS EYE AND WHO KICKED YOU OUT OF YOUR OWN HOUSE THE DAY BEFORE?!

I didn’t know that End of Days could make me as angry as Empty Places but here I am.

We’re 14 minutes into the episode and still, no one has apologized to Buffy and they’re all pretending like they didn’t turn their backs on her and it’s pissing me off. I hate feeling this way in the episode prior to the series finale. This is not how a fan should be feeling right before the show ends!

12) Not only do I know what a glottal stop is but I’ve also learned how to pronounce it. Or at least I was able to pronounce it a few years ago.

13) And hence the fate of Miss Kitty Fantastico was finally revealed…

DAWN Xander, my crossbow is not out here. I told you, I don't leave crossbows around all willy-nilly. Not since that time with Miss Kitty Fantastico.

If you must hate Dawn, it should only be for this.

She’s understanding and reassuring, she’s not pointing fingers or kicking people out. And that’s why she’s a hero and the rest are a fucking bunch of morons. I’m sorry, I’m still so angry about Empty Places and this episode is not making things any better.

17) But I do love when my two slayers see eye to eye…

FAITH So, here's the laugh riot. My whole life I've been a loner.(…) No ties, no buddies, no relationships that lasted longer than... (…) Me, by myself all the time. I'm looking at you, everything you have, and, I don't know, jealous. Then there I am. Everybody's looking to me, trusting me to lead them, and I've never felt so alone in my entire life.

BUFFY I love my friends. I'm very grateful for them. But that's the price. Being a slayer.

FAITH There's only supposed to be one. Maybe that's why you and I can never get along. We're not supposed to exist together.

BUFFY Also, you went evil and were killing people.

FAITH Good point. Also a factor.

BUFFY But you're right. I mean, I... I guess everyone's alone. But being a slayer? There's a burden we can't share.

FAITH And no one else can feel it. Thank God we're hot chicks with superpowers.

BUFFY Takes the edge off.

FAITH Comforting.

BUFFY Mm-hmm.

This is something that had been a long time coming. Since day one, Faith had envied Buffy. Just like Buffy saw in Faith her road not taken, Faith saw in Buffy the life she could’ve had but didn’t. She envied it and she wanted it for herself. She literally tried to steal it away several times. So if she couldn’t have it, if it wasn’t meant for her, then she could take Buffy away from it, drive her to the dark side, where she lived. Every attempt was futile, even stealing Buffy’s body and literally taking her life. It only made her feel more undeserving, more inadequate, more unworthy. But every time she’d taken a shot at being the leader, it was by playing tricks, by taking what it wasn’t rightfully hers. This time around, she had somehow earned it. There was no foul play on her part. Others made the decision for her and gave her the role she’d craved for so long. And she finally understood that it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. Yes, Buffy did have friends and people who looked up to her and cared about her. But when push comes to shove, when tough calls must be made, the Slayer is always alone. The weight of the world is only on her shoulders, and she can’t share the burden. It took four seasons but Faith finally got it. And she could finally let go of all the envy and jealousy.

18) I just love the fact that for the first time Buffy is the one who opens up to Spike. She’s always been the one who pretends there’s nothing between them and who skirts around her feelings and dismisses his. But not this time. And for me, it was enough that she acknowledged that it meant something, even if they – and we – don’t know exactly what that was.

BUFFY You're a dope.

SPIKE I'm a what?

BUFFY You're a dope. And a bonehead. And you're shirty.

SPIKE Have you gone completely carrot-top?

BUFFY Do you see this? This may actually help me fight my war. This might be the key to everything. And the reason I'm holding it is because of you. Because of the strength that you gave me last night. Look, I am tired of defensiveness and weird, mixed signals. You know, I have Faith for that. Let's just get to the truth here, OK? I don't know how you felt about last night, but I will not—

BUFFY I was.

SPIKE What does that mean?

19) Update: 29 minutes in and I’m still waiting for someone to apologize to Buffy.

20) Am I the only who thinks this speech is okay but like, the writers were trying too hard to give Anya her “Anya Speech Moment” of the season and it kind of feels a bit, I don’t know, forced?

ANYA Well...I guess I was...kinda new to bein' around humans before. But now I've... seen a lot more, gotten to know people... seen what they're capable of, and... I guess I just realized...how amazingly screwed-up they all are. I mean really, really screwed-up in a monumental fashion. And they have no purpose that unites them, so they just drift around, blundering through life until they die...which they...they know is coming, yet every single one of them is surprised when it happens to them. They're incapable of thinking about what they want beyond the moment. They kill each other, which is clearly insane. And yet, here's the thing. When it's something that really matters, they fight. I mean, they're lame morons for fighting, but they do. They never... never quit. So I guess I will keep fighting, too.

Okay, I get it, I get what you were trying to do, but it was so fucking obvious, it was so transparent. Like, I know most of the so-called metaphors in this show were not so subtle (think the fucking monster-penis in Doublemeat Palace, for instance.) But the feminist struggle in the slayer vs the council struggle was always something that I personally enjoyed. And this is how Joss’s brand of “feminism” began to crumble down, in my opinion. This is what a white dude who is a self-proclaimed feminist believes to be a Good feminist storyline, but it’s so clichéd and self-evident it's almost cringe-worthy. Like, you get a bunch of Evil Men quite literally raping a Poor Woman, who is faked Empowered (her powers were lent to her by the Evil Men and the source of her powers is Evil, Demonic in nature because duh! she is a Woman) so that they can Manipulate her and Use her for the benefit of the Patriarchy. But oh wait! This is a Feminist Show! So in spite of what the Evil Men who were supposedly the Powerful ones did, there always were These Great and Powerful Women behind it all, the True Guardians of the Slayer, This has been a Matriarchy all along, you see?! PLOT TWIST!

Yawn.

The worst part? I can imagine all the writers patting themselves on the back for writing such a groundbreaking and Feminist storyline and for sticking it to the Men.

23) And btw, just to show you how big a Feminist Show this is, we get this…

I guess since this is a Feminist Show and Angel is the hero here and Buffy the damsel in distress, that makes Angel a woman, right?

But hey, at least he (or she?) literally let Buffy deliver the lethal blow…

24) And yes, this totally makes sense!

because Angel has not claimed to be in love with Cordelia and Buffy has not just had her more honest heart-toheart with Spike. Let’s just disregard whatever arcs have been developed in both shows in order to deliver a Ship Moment for the Bangel fans, right? Who cares about character development, right? Because I’m positive this is what former lovers do after not seeing each other in over a year, being currently emotionally unavailable, and facing the greatest evil of all. Suck face.

long story short: sebin and mom had an extremely, extremely dysfunctional relationship. complicated history of envy, hatred, emotional abuse, vicious fights, gaslighting, understanding and family love. ultimately shit happens when ur left as a single mom banished to the side of the woods and have 2 give up everything to raise a kid u didnt even want. its not pretty, its not cute but its the 1 thing that shes known to be real all her life and it means something. writing ( obscured as it may be ) has helped her deal with it and in a way, its almost confessional. she hasnt disclosed any of this with anybody and doesnt plan to

given that, shes turned out ok?? as in, she kind of embraces the person shes been shaped into rather than reeling from shame

Name: Oboru Namikawa

Nickname: spoiled brat and swirly

Hero Name: The hurricane hero, Monsoon

Age: 17

Gender: male

Sexuality: bisexual

Personality: Thanks to his parents' spoiling him, Oboru has a brattish nature that tends to come out when he's angry. Even though he has that side to him, he is normally a stoic individual, a smile rarely on his face. Devoting himself to training and trying to better himself so he can live up to All Might, Oboru can also come off as a headstrong, driven character. Even though he can be seen as annoying to some, he does have a more tolerable personality where he can be playful, looking for ways to tease his friends or convince them to spar with him. He's not very competitive but will go into a slightly depressive state when losing an important fight. Oboru can also be pretty intense when All Might is mentioned and he spends his weekends training himself and his quirk to keep the vow he made to himself when he was younger. He is not ashamed of his admiration of All Might but his body still reacts to the teasing in the form of him blushing, though he constantly ignores this. He has a great many All Might collectibles in his room which he will excitedly show off to his friends as well when given the chance.

Likes: anything that deals with All might will keep Oboru entertained for hours on end. He enjoys going outside during windy days, sitting on the hammock hung up in his back porch. Other times, he'll slip on his roller blades and skate around his neighborhood just enjoying the fresh air.

Dislikes: due to an incident when he was younger, Oboru has an intense dislike(fear) of heights. Oboru is not a fan of horror movies, both because they can scare him for a few days and also because if they aren't scary theyre just plain awful in his opinion. Braces: it was about the only thing his parents' put their foot down on and he hates the way they look on him.

Strengths: Oboru has endless amounts of determination, never backing down from a fight and always trying to find ways to gain an advantage. Having constantly trained with his quirk, Oboru now has great control and precision with it. Although this doesn't affect his recoil, he can determine an almost exact amount of output he can generate before it really starts affecting him.

Weaknesses: When angered enough, Oboru can give into the bratty nature he tries to keep under wraps, taking off on his own and getting himself into more trouble than necessary. Oboru's fear of heights hinders his chances of reaching his full potential with his quirk.

Appearance: Oboru is about 5'8", an average height for his age with a slight tan, his hair is a dark brown styled in short but tight curls, his eyes are slightly rounded and are two shades lighter than his hair like creamed coffee. The palms of his hands as well as the area around his wrists contain enlarged pores that are arranged in swirls on his skin. Theyre big enough to be seen with the naked eye and look almost like tiny holes. He has about 40 of these pores on each arm, 15 on his palms and 30 on his arms from his wrists to halfway down his forearms. Oboru has a muscular build similar to a wrestler but not overly so, as in he has a four-pack of abs and he could carry something about 100lbs with either his arms or legs. He may struggle with it though. He has relatively high cheek bones, a pointed nose and braces which he hates, choosing to smile without showing his teeth or covering his mouth when laughing.

Standard Clothes: Oboru likes to wear tank tops and short sleeved shirts with solid colors or simple patterns paired with jean shorts, loose fitting knee-length pants and various trousers. He always wears running shoes like sneakers and tennis shoes. His favorite outfit is a red shirt with burgundy short sleeves, red trousers with a dark red and orange swirled pattern on the sides and red sneakers.

Costume: olive green sleeveless jumpsuit with swirling patterns stitched in silver. Brown tool belt around his waist filled with all kinds of medication for dizziness and nausea as well as first aid tools. He wears brown shoes with black soles, the soles as well as the bottoms of the shoes are made with a fabric that allows air to flow freely inside it. He keeps gold rimmed aviator goggles around his neck when he's not wearing them.

Weapons/Gadgets: Special shoes that allow air to freely travel in and out of them, making it easier for him to ride his hurricane dash. Aviator goggles to protect his eyes from gravel or sand kicked up by his winds. A tool belt filled with various home remedies and medications for nausea, dizziness and headaches as well as bandages and triple antibiotics.

Swim: Oboru owns a blue and green swim trouser set as well as blue goggles. He likes to swim underwater.

Sleep: sleeps in long pajama pants and a short sleeve pajama shirt. Naturally they're All Might themed.

Winter: Oboru doesn't change his style much unless it's snowing then he'll wear thick sweat pants, a light jacket and a scarf.

Formal: he wears a black blazer with black slacks and a red button up shirt underneath. On his feet he'll have clogs or pointed dress shoes.

*Who would they? Fall for: Oboru is a bit of an odd ball, attracted to people that are his complete opposite. Outgoing, constantly smiling or joking people with a knack for dragging others into adventures. He himself can be a joker as well but it's rarely seen even around friends unless he's in a good mood.

Befriend: Oboru isn't very picky when it comes to the friends he makes, so long as they aren't bullies or overly cocky/rude, he's willing to hang around them. Most of his friends end up being adventurous types that like to explore or hang around outside.

Hate: Oboru has a severe dislike for those that are bossy or think they are better than anyone else for shallow reasons.

Respect: He respects those that are quirkless or have weak quirks, yet still try their hardest to improve. Oboru also respects people that are normally considered underdogs and fight against what the world expects of them, so long as they aren't doing any misdeeds in the process.

Rival: Anyone with a quirk that counters his is instantly a rival in Oboru's book as well as those with powerful quirks in general.

Hobbies/Skills: Exceptional balance thanks to riding around on his cyclones, he's even immune to getting dizzy from anything outside his quirk recoil. He's an avid reader, constantly having a book in hand at home when resting.

*How they Act Towards Romantic Interests: When Oboru is interested in someone he turns into a bit of a self groomer, trying to subtlety fix his hair if he thinks it's messy and wearing small amounts of cologne. He avoids eye contact but may try to ask them out for casual hang outs.

Acquaintances: Oboru is pretty all business with acquaintances, he may crack a smile or two but still comes off as detached from others. It's not much different from how he acts around strangers since he feels that they won't be around him very long.

Towards Friends/Close Friends: with his buddies Oboru finally let's his guard down, making jokes and horsing around. His passion for training pops up as well, trying to find or make time for some friendly sparring to keep in shape. Oboru also likes to hang outside with his friends, either at parks or grabbing a bite to eat.

Rivals: If they allow him to get away with it, Oboru will relentlessly pursue them in hopes of sparring with them to improve his own quirk as well as working out the kinks and weak spots in it.

Towards Enemies: When it comes to civilian or classmate enemies, Oboru can't seem to decide between totally ignoring them or constantly picking a fight with them over any little thing that bothers him. Against villains, Oboru will fight them with everything he has while also doing his best to only incapacitate them to make capture easy.

Towards Iconic Figures: Oboru does have other iconic figures aside from All Might and he acts the same towards all of them. He hits Iida levels of politeness; he won't make any robotic movements but he will be incredibly formal to the point that it may become uncomfortable for the person on the receiving end.

Meeting Strangers: Oboru can be mistaken as an aloof or unfriendly person when meeting strangers, only offering a curt handshake and his last name. If he is particularly distracted when meeting someone, he may not even look at them during their introduction.

When Facing Fears: while brave enough to face most of his fears, he can still unconsciously use his quirk. It's nothing serious being more of a small spiralling breeze seeping from his pores. If the fear involves him falling from somewhere high, he goes on pure instinct, most of the time his quirk will just cause him more harm then good.

In a life changing situation: Being a creature of habit, Oboru hates anything that can drastically change his way of life. He'll fight it tooth and nail if possible and if nothing can be done to stop it, Oboru will try to change things back to normal. Otherwise he'll fall into a pit of denial trying to fall back into his usual tempo, even good changes don't sit very well with him if it's vastly different from his comfort zone.

History: After 7 failed attempts at having children, oboru was born on his parents' 8th try and they were so ecstatic that they began to spoil him relentlessly. For 5 whole years oboru never knew the meaning of the word "no", this led him to be a very spoiled pre-teen unfortunately prone to throwing slight tantrums when not given his way. "Luckily" he suffers through a humbling experience at the age of 11 when a villain with the ability to turn into a gargoyle took him hostage. The gargoyle was blasted out of the sky by a rookie hero, sending Oboru quite literally tumbling to his death. His panic and fear caused him to misfire his quirk repeatedly until the recoil left him reeling, unable to tell if he was falling or flying up. Thankfully, All might had been nearby and the hero quickly saves oboru from the misfortune of becoming one with the asphalt. Oboru and his parents never were able to thank All Might enough in their minds and Oboru himself vows to become a hero to eventually pay back the massive debt he owes to the great hero. He very nearly worked himself to death after learning that All Might would be teaching at U.A, only truly relaxing and resting after being admitted to the school.

Family: Kiara (mother) can also create cyclones with her hands -if used too much, her hands and arms will cramp up very badly-

Eiji (father) can control air currents -has no major recoil but is very weak in areas with little to no wind-

Currently dating Ritsuo as of four months, he's pretty shy about it but not ashamed. He just has no idea how to really act without going overboard and is a bit paranoid that they may get in trouble for PDA. They've already shared a kiss but don't do much more than that.

Ethnicity/Nationality: pure blooded Japanese; Oboru was born in Okinawa, Japan.

Fighting Style: Oboru is all about close quarters combat, making his cyclones around his hands and feet to add extra power to his strikes. The winds tend to push his opponents back or leave them winded and he is quick to take advantage of that, only backing off if they're out of commission or immune to his wind. When things get dicey, he'll hang back and switch to using ranged attacks, flinging cyclones and tornadoes at his opponent.

Habits: not a habit so much as a necessity Oboru will take a few minutes to floss his braces or fix the bands in them. He hates them with every fiber of his being so he saves that habit for when he's alone in the bathroom or if he finds a dark corner to hide in. The pores on his palms and arms are big enough to get water or dirt in them so there are times he will force air out of them to clean anything out.

Residence: Oboru stays at home with his parents; they live in a two story home with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a back patio and a front porch. His parents share one bedroom while Oboru has his own. The last room is for guests if any of them bring friends over. The patio has a hammock set up as well as two chairs and features a view of their own and only orange tree.

Type: Emitter

Description: The enlarged pores on Oboru's arms and hands can generate powerful gusts of wind that, due to their placing, shape into cyclones and tornadoes of varying sizes. Oboru can use these to increase his speed as well as his strength by packing extra power into his attacks or he can use them as a stand alone attack force.

Strengths: Oboru can use smaller cylcones as skates to get around faster and he can increase their size to "fly" through the air. The average speed of his rotating cylcones reach about 60 to 75mph and if he gets really serious, he can crank the wind speed up to 115mph. However, going that high brings about some hefty repercussions. Very handy for keeping enemies at bay.

Weaknesses: He can only adjust the power of the cyclones currently touching his body, once he releases them they will steadily weaken over a 20 to 30 second time frame depending on how big they are. Surprisingly, the larger the cyclone, the less time it stays formed. As he continuously uses his quirk, Oboru begins to feel light-headed, dizzy and off-balance, his vision twisting and rocking as if he sat in a chair and spun himself in it. This causes headaches and nausea as well, eventually leaving him incapacitated for a few hours if he doesn't take time to recover.

Main Skills: Whirlwind fist- focuses a tightly spinning cyclone around his fist and releases it upon impact. Wind speeds normally at 40 to 50mph.

Hurricane dash: uses two mini cyclones as skates to maneuver around. They can be replenished as many times until Oboru can no longer fight his quirk recoil. The winds spin at 35mph but can make Oboru himself "skate" to a maximum speed of 40mph.

Tornado upper- Oboru charges at his target, flipping himself into a handstand where he uses his winds to spin himself like a top. The spin adds enough force to his legs that it knocks his opponent into the air. He makes himself spin at about 15 to 20mph.

Slicing maelstrom: creates two large cyclones which he then combines to form an even larger cyclone to entangle his opponent in (surefire way to set off his recoil) Wind speeds reach up to 90mph.

Eye of the storm: similar to slicing maelstrom, Oboru creates a massive cyclone using both hands. Instead of launching it at his target, he holds onto it, controlling its power and what path it takes. Oboru can only hold it for 25 seconds and immediately afterwards, he will pass out. If he is interrupted part way through depending on how long he had it, he will collapse from exhaustion and be unable to move for a few minutes. Oboru can force the wind speeds to hit 115mph at the cost of getting hit with an intensified version of his normal recoil and only being able to maintain that wind speed for 12 seconds.
