this is fun! how about this, thoughts on bkdk adopting??
i feel like izuku would love kids and really want to, but bakugo is afraid of "screwing them up"? he doesnt want them to be like him. but in the end, hes the favorite dad and does matching outfits and everything
your thoughts??
a lot of projecting here from my husband and I cause we are gays who kin these two idiots in love, LET'S GO
i feel like Izuku would be supernervous but also very excited about adopting, and would try to be the best dad possible, but he would also patiently wait until they both think are ready for it (which Katsuki doesn't cause Izuku might be his partner but he is not letting him be more prepared than himself even then)
And I think Katsuki would be very careful in general with the kid, which could even make him come across as angry or a little mean at times, but he really just doesn't want the kid to have all of the problems that he had (self-esteem issues, poor handling on their emotions, all that), and growing up with that the kid would just accept it as that's the way their papa is, and they both warm up to each other with time
I also feel like the kid would think very highly of his papa since daddy (Izuku) is still very open and talkative about how amazing his lover is (Kacchan sugoi and all that), while also learning the non-verbal ways of communication that Katsuki shows, caring for both of them and showing his love throw actions and physical touch
#cause some of us are baaaad at words#kacchan is still bad at saying i love you even as an adult#bakudeku#bkdk#ask

* gif's not mine.
The familiar sound of your name said over and over again lured you into consciousness. You had lost all sense of the space-time continuum, not knowing where up or down was, whether you were alive or dead.
Only the pain was omnipresent, it told you it was real what you felt. It burned and pulsed, throbbed and tingled. You surrendered to this pain for what felt like an eternity, groaning again in agony because every movement, no matter how tiny, hurt.
"You are awake."
A bright voice made you widen your eyes. Everything was dark, shadowy, intangible, strange.
Panic flooded your body and only now did you feel the cold around your legs, your aching body. It was dark, almost black. The kind of perfect darkness you saw in shades of dark grey in front of your eyes as a result of signals from the optic nerves. You were lying on the ground of the empty marui near the seawall terraces.
"No, don't move. Please."
You only heard a single voice, but you felt many more echoing in your pounding head. Hands were on your shoulders, apparently wanting to prevent you from making too hectic movements or even getting up, which increased your panic.
"Right, uh, light, light, light, mhm — Ah, there! Wait here!"
You squinted against the darkness again, hoping to see something, but the only thing you could really see clearly was a beam of soft dancing lights coming through the small crack under the entry into the marui you were in and the faint outline of the person kneeling in front of you.
Before you could reply anything, the light coming from a bioluminescent seashell was held in your face without warning and you squinted your eyes again, trying to protect them from the purple light.
"I'm so sorry, y/n I should've warned you," you heard the person in front of you speak who happens to be none other than Neteyam's brother, Lo'ak. "Damn! You don't look good at all!"
Thank you.
"What happened?"
"I guess, I, um…" Quick, you had to think of a good lie now, "I didn't feel so good after today's training. You know, high intensity under the sun can be exhausting," You looked down at yourself and noticed your bloodstained upper piece. "And it, uh, caused nose-bleeding…" You noticed the many bruises on your legs. "I must've fainted because of it, hurting myself."
"I can see that," Lo'ak looked pitifully at the left side of your face, right under your eye, then shifted his gaze to your bruised upper lip, and back at the place right under your hairline. "Did you fall face-first or something? That looks so baaaad."
Thanks again, appreciated.
"I, uh, yeah, can you help me up?"
A sharp pain shot through your chest as Lo'ak pulled you up by your arm and you had to grab the wall to catch your breath. You coughed uncontrollably as whatever it was that caused that pain left you breathless. Lo'ak patted you gently on the back, carefully, but every touch hurt.
"I didn't know you had to train so hard. I thought you had a fun day as we did, playing with the ilus."
"My teacher's very strict unfortunately."
"Hmm."
"What are you doing here anyway? It's the girls' communal marui."
Lo'ak's eyes widened at your question, "I swear I'm not some kind of creep," he quickly said, "Tsireya said she lost her hair band so I figured I look for it here," he looked at the ground beneath his feet, which was smeared with dirt and blood – your blood, "but maybe it's not here, yeah, anyway, good thing I came here or else you would've died or something."
"I wouldn't have died," you said, amazed at his dramatic exaggeration.
Lo'ak shrugged his shoulders, "Not so sure about that."
You followed his gaze and your reflection in the mirror caught your attention. Your skin was sticky, your clothes were damp with blood and sweat, and you felt gross.
"I, uh," Feeling a sense of embarrassment, Lo'ak gestured with his finger towards the spot behind the marui, "I'll just quickly go… there, uh, for a moment. Will you be okay?" You nodded. "Neteyam is near, by the way, we have a chill round with Tsireya and Ao'nung and the others, how about you come with me?" You stared at him as if frozen, but eventually managed to nod once more. "Perfect. Okay. See you in a minute." With that, he left you alone, and you felt your breath quicken.
On one hand, a sense of relief washed over you at the thought of Neteyam being nearby and able to be there for you when you needed him. On the other hand, you had no idea how you would talk your way out of this situation. He would ask questions, and it would become uncomfortable. Old lies would threaten to resurface. The thought made your stomach churn.
You noticed how your shawl, which you had wrapped around yourself, had absorbed the blood, leaving the fabric irreparably stained. In this condition, going home was out of the question. Not only would your mother be beside herself upon seeing you, but you also had to pass through the communal areas to reach your marui. Once Lo'ak was out of sight, you struggled to slip the fabric off your shoulders, feeling the pain in every single bone. You realized that even your upper piece hadn't been spared as you held the shawl under the water and noticed the stains on your upper body.
Outside the marui, you kneeled down with an effort, and decided to wash your hands and face in one of the pool's water. A drop of pinkish-red-colored sweat dripped from your chin into the water, or maybe it wasn't sweat at all, who knew, it could be tears as well, you shouldn't just limit it to sweat.
"That's what I get for lying," you hissed at yourself, while your hands dunk back into the water, getting everything else around you, including half of your upper body, wet.
You decided to wash the red stains out of your shawl, the water changing its color around your hands to a washed-out reddish blur.
There was a clearing of the throat in the distance, perhaps just a few meters away from you.
"I'm coming back, y/n, okay?"
You cursed under your breath, focussing solely on removing the stains as you washed the shawl in your hands even more aggressively now, the noise of the splashing water being louder than your own thoughts.
"Let's go!" Lo'ak stood behind you.
Before you knew it, you had torn the light blue fabric in your hand. You closed your eyes in defeat and suppressed another curse word. It was a shame actually, because you liked combining the shawl with matching loincloths over various chest pieces you were wearing most of the time. You at least convinced yourself that you wouldn't have gotten the bloodstains out anyway, so the fate of the garment was sealed from the start, even before you had accidentally torn it.
Setting aside the damp piece of torn fabric, you stood up with a sigh and turned to Lo'ak, ready to follow him to wherever he would take you. At least you had washed most of the blood off your body.
"Thank you for not dying on me," Lo'ak joked next to you and all you could manage was a small smile. Your entire body ached, and every step you took felt as if you could collapse at any moment.
In the distance, you could discern a gathering of young Na'vi near the shoreline, forming a circle as they enjoyed each other's company. Some sat or reclined in the sand, while others perched on rocks, and a few stood, perhaps sharing tales. Their laughter resonated through the air, creating a joyful ambiance against the backdrop of the shimmering water and the twinkling stars above.
Just a few meters away, Lo'ak gave you a final thumbs-up, leading the way to the group with you by his side, and the clamor of voices grew increasingly chaotic, enveloping both of you in its midst.
"No, of course not, it should fear us!"
"What are you talking about? Not even my grandma would fear you!"
"Your grandma isn't a fish, is she?"
"Don't say anything against my grandma!"
Your head felt like exploding any second. Not because of the boys, but because you felt the need to lie down. That's what you thought until you suddenly heard Neteyam's calm voice, and instantly, you felt a little bit better.
"If you approach it with the right mindset and undergo the necessary training, I have no doubts you will succeed!"
"No, he definitely has no chance, look at him, like a squid in armor."
Tsireya, who had refrained from the heated discussion, was the only one who looked up. As her eyes met yours, they widened, and she quickly rose from her seat, approaching you. With a gentle and questioning gaze, she placed a hand on your arm, showing her concern.
"Are you okay?" she asked in a soft voice searching your gaze. Appreciating her care, you placed your hand on hers, mustering a small smile.
You heard how Lo'ak cleared his throat, as it seemed that nobody else had noticed you.
"Don't mind them, y/n," Lo'ak turned to you, as your presence remained unnoticed by the boys, "You can take my seat over there next to Tsireya's while I go find you a new shawl."
"No, here, take mine," Tsireya suggested already putting her shawl over your shoulders, the piece hugging your torso.
After that it got quiet very quickly, because when your name was mentioned, Neteyam looked up, and with him the others.
Immediately he got up from the rock he was sitting on and in a few steps he stood right in front of you, hesitating whether he should hug you, and finally decided to do so. When he carefully put his arm around you and pulled you close, you hissed slightly out of pain and suddenly felt even more fragile and broken than in all of the previous weeks.
"I go and bring some new clothing for her," you heard Tsireya's voice, "and maybe some wound dressing from my mother." You saw out of the corner of your eye how Lo'ak nodded gratefully when Tsireya was already hurrying away.
You didn't feel like crying, but you felt so weak and helpless and wanted to just stand there for hours while Neteyam hugged you.
"What happened?" he asked softly, his voice thick with concern.
"Is that blood?" you heard the other boys whisper among themselves.
"Did you see her face, man?"
Rotxo's voice stood out more than the others as he addressed his question directly to you, repeating Neteyam's words, "What happened, y/n?"
You stayed quiet and pressed closer to Neteyam despite the pain, and Lo'ak did the answering for you, "The training today under the sun made her nose bleed out of exhaustion or allergy or something so that she passed out," he explained hastily, heading back to his seat.
You felt Neteyam stiffen in the hug and you squinted to escape reality for a few more seconds.
"First of all, what kind of lie is that even?" Your heart sank when you heard one of the boys – you guessed Ao'nung – talking loudly, questioning the course of action, and before long everyone else was about to join in the conversation, one at a time. And with every sentence you felt the urge to leave the place on the spot.
"Ask y/n, I swear that's what happened! I found her near the marui by the seawall terraces."
"She might have been passed out but pxasìk — I don't buy that!"
"What were you doing there, Lo'ak?" someone else with longer hair asked.
"None of your business, bro."
"And second of all, she rather looks like she was beaten up." At that, Neteyam pushed you slightly away from him to give you a questioning look and inspect you more closely. His eyes alternated between yours and you recognized how the hint of suspicion crept into his eyes.
"She was clearly beaten up!" The girl on the far left, Neteyam's sister, Kiri, unexpectedly supported Ao'nung's statement, which was highly unusual for her. It wasn't her cold demeanor towards you that was atypical, but rather her agreement with Ao'nung that caught you off guard.
"Yeah, right! I mean, look at her." Every head turned to you now, inspecting you from head to toe, as if you were some kind of object.
"That's not true," you argued weakly, supporting yourself on the tree with your left hand, and grabbing Neteyam's hand with your right one because your feet threatened to buckle any second. Noticing that, he lead you to the rock right in front of you and carefully helped you sit down.
"The real question is who did that to poor y/n?"
"Why? You wanna beat up some girls for her?"
"Girls? I thought it'd be some kurkung from the tsurak taming team."
"Hey, don't say that, they're cool."
"Yeah, and don't cuss when Kiri and y/n are here."
"They are no children."
"Tsireya's back!" Lo'ak's voice drowned out the others, not surprising given the fact how loud he announced the return of the soft-spoken girl. Apart from you no one seemed to pay any attention to him, they were far too busy arguing amongst themselves.
"Nah, man, what kinda skxawng beats girls? Not me for sure."
"Let's teach those guys a lesson then."
"So now you wanna beat up guys for her?"
"Why not? She's Neteyam's girl, she's one of us."
"True words." You frowned as you realized how much they had gotten into the discussion when Tsireya handed you a neatly packed bag with fresh clothing inside which you gratefully accepted.
"Why would you all choose violence all of a sudden?" Tsireya looked around with an irritated expression, not sure what she had missed in the last couple of minutes.
"Those kalweyavengs deserve it!"
"You skxawng don't talk like that in front of my sister."
"But, you said—"
"Everybody quiet!" You winced slightly when you heard the anger in his voice vibrate through his body; he who had kept quiet the whole time, just observing, never speaking. Instantly it fell silent at the beach and all eyes were on Neteyam, except for yours.
"It has gotten late," he added, quieter but clearly audible, "We should all go back to the village." You expected a protest to erupt, but you were wrong again. Without a word, the individual heads of that group got up from where they sat on rocks or the sand, and left the beach, heading in the direction of the village, one after the other.
"Thank you, brother," Neteyam spoke as Lo'ak passed by, giving him a grateful pat on the back of his head. You caught Lo'ak nodding at him and giving you a pitiful look, and you managed to mouth a 'thank you' as well before he left.
"Why did you lie to him?" Neteyam nodded his head in the direction of his now-gone brother. "To Lo'ak, I mean."
You stared at your hands on your lap instead of answering him, so he sighed and knelt in front of you, positioning himself between your legs. With a gentle touch, he placed his hands on each of your thighs, right at the hem of your loincloth.
"I'm seriously worried, y/n, and it's almost a miracle I'm staying calm right now. What happened?" He cocked his head and looked up, searching for the gaze you were trying so hard to avoid. "Please talk to me." The gentle touch of his hands on your thighs, which you usually never got enough of, now felt like a burning sensation, causing inner agony within you.
"I didn't want to tell him the truth," you finally said, answering his first question.
"Do you want to tell me?"
"It's nothing, Neteyam, I—"
"Nothing?" He laughed wryly, letting go and walking away from you as he walked around in a circle and turned back with an ironic smile that didn't reach his eyes, his tail whipped aggressively behind him, "That certainly doesn't look like nothing to me." He gestured to you with both hands.
You covered your face with your hair because you could only imagine how terrible you must've looked, how disgusted he must've been with you, that he thought you weren't beautiful.
"You're in pain. You have bruises everywhere. You're covered in blood! And yet you say it's nothing. Do you listen to yourself?"
"I can handle it," you replied, adding more quietly, "It's not that I'm not used to it."
"What do you mean?"
"Nothing," you said quickly, irritated by his questions, "I mean nothing at all. Can… can you help me change into these?" You held up the bag from Tsireya which provided a good change of subject. It would be impossible for you to raise both arms and put the pieces on by yourself. On second thought, Neteyam would see the bruises on your chest that way, and the mere thought made your stomach ache. Therefore, realizing that the shawl provided good cover and not wanting to part with it, you added a quick, "Nevermind, I'll do it myself."
As if he had read your thoughts, he approached you with a determined gaze. Your breath caught as you felt his hand pull the shawl from your shoulders. Quickly, you clung to the fabric, stopping mid-movement, and placed your other hand on his to stop him from exposing your skin.
"Please," you looked him in the eyes, your voice barely audible. You didn't know what you begged him for. To stop him from seeing your injuries? To stop touching you? To stop asking questions? To stop digging for the truth? Did you want him to stop in the first place? Or did you want him to find out and free you from your net of lies?
He gently slipped your shawl off your shoulders, and then sucked in a sharp breath and bit the inside of his cheek, apparently trying to keep himself from swearing but the restless movements of his tail gave him away.
You didn't have to look to see that a huge wound must have been looming on your collarbones and on your side right under your breasts. Judging by the pain, you wouldn't be surprised if some ribs were broken.
"Who did this to you." It was no longer a question driven by curiosity, as he had asked earlier. This was serious. He wanted names and locations. He wanted to know who had done such a dreadful thing to his loved one. Who dared to harm you in any way. Judging by the fire in his eyes, he wanted to see that person bleed the way you did.
"Are you going to beat up some girls for me?" You playfully repeated the question you'd heard one of the boys say before. However, the way Neteyam clenched his jaw showed you it wasn't time to crack up some jokes.
"Tell me."
"No."
"Y/n."
"Neteyam."
He studied you intently, examining every facial expression, every subtle gesture, before speaking again, "You never slipped down any cliffs last week, did you?" he asked, a hint of skepticism in his voice. "And what about last month when you said you—"
"I lied, okay?" you shouted at him, unleashing the pent-up frustration, as if he were the cause of your misery. "I made it all up. Every single bit of it. I'm a liar, and I'm a coward. Are you happy now?"
"Happy? It pains me to see you like that," he retorted, his voice rising with frustration, "Why didn't you tell anyone?"
"What was I supposed to say!?" you shouted back, your voice filled with exasperation. "Cry like a baby and point at them for being mean to me?"
"No, but someone could've helped. Everything is better than that!" His tone was raised as well when he pointed at your bruises.
"They won't! I tried!" you hissed, the bitterness evident in your voice, "Once, when I was little and foolishly believed that my parents would trust and listen to me. But what did they do? They forced us to hug and pretend to be friends again, dismissing it all as a mere misunderstanding among children. And you know what happened next? They sought their revenge by cutting my hair," you swallowed hard, the memory of that painful incident resurfacing, "I cried so much that day. That's when I made a promise to myself that I would never tell anyone anything again."
"I am here now, I hear you, I see you," he responded gently, his voice filled with empathy, "Please, let me help." You shook off the hand that he tried to place on your shoulder. He silently acknowledged this, a hurt expression crossing his eyes, which he quickly concealed.
"There's nothing you can do. I've learned from my mistake today: Don't confront them when it's four against one. Simple solution," you stated firmly, emphasizing your resolve.
"I am eager to find out who they are," he expressed with a determined tone.
"It's not important."
"Y/n," Neteyam shook his head, his expression firm, "I won't be at peace unless you tell me their names."
"Don't ask me!" you once again raised your voice against him. "I won't say anything. You make it worse for me."
"I am the one making it worse?" he asked, seeking confirmation.
"Yes," you said firmly, causing him to blink in surprise. "Please, Neteyam, for the love of Eywa, stop asking!"
"Understood," he nodded, his nose flared up and his tail on edge.
"You're pissed, I can understand that… but I don't deserve the way you treat me right now. You're pushing me too much."
"What do you exactly want me to do?!" His voice erupted with anger, his frustration visible, "Yes, I am pissed. But not because of the lies or because of your bruises. I am pissed because of you. Because of the way you're behaving right now. Your eye and the bruises on your face and body were not an accident, that's a fact we both are aware of. Yet, you choose to protect them. But why? It seems you're too proud to admit the truth, to tell me the truth."
"That's not true!" you yelled at him angrily, annoyed by repeating yourself over and over again.
He let out a groan of frustration, seemingly struggling to maintain self-control, "Just tell me who did this to you and I will make sure they regret ever laying a finger on you!"
He waited for your response.
You remained silent, holding your ground against his warning gaze for a long moment.
"Good," he interrupted the eye contact and nodded his head, "Then don't trust me, it's fine."
"Neteyam…"
"This is pointless." Neteyam brushed you off, walking back towards the village, not giving you another look when he passed your shoulder.
"Neteyam, don't walk away from me," you snapped out, feeling anger flare up inside of you. You reached out and grabbed his arm.
He stopped, slowly turning to face you.
"Just… stop for a second, okay?" you said in an irritated tone.
"Why?" He retorted.
He was staring at you, and you were staring back at him, and you were suddenly hyper aware of how close he was standing to you. Both of you breathing heavily, anger and frustration ebbing between the two of you; you were standing close, so close. You were suddenly struck by how attractive he was, his eyes flashing as he stared at you, searching your face for any answers when he took another step closer.
"If only you knew how much it hurts to be pushed away like this."
Before you knew what was happening, he brushed off your arm again, and walked away, leaving you to yourself and your lies. And this time, you didn't stop him; you only focussed on the point where he was standing just seconds ago, thinking of his words that left a deep pain in your chest, making you choke on your own words and tears falling from your eyes.
A little later, as you sat on the sand, lost in your thoughts, you hopefully perked up at the sound of footsteps approaching in the sand. Your heart fluttered with hope, and you hastily wiped away the tears from your face, turning around with anticipation, expecting to see Neteyam, but to your surprise it was just Kiri.
"Where's Neteyam?" she asked you.
"Gone." You put the little shell you were playing with back on the sand and traced the pattern with your finger.
"Well, you're here, so I'm sure he'll come back." You strongly doubted that, considering the way he had last looked at you.
"He was really angry," you mumbled, thinking back to your little argument. You spoke more to yourself than to Kiri. In fact, you didn't even think she heard you or paid any attention to you when you heard her gather and pack up the two pillows and the seaweed blanket that she forgot before. Yet her next question made you look up in surprise.
"But can you blame him?" Kiri narrowed her eyes in annoyance as she looked at you.
"I'm sorry?" you looked at her expectantly.
Kiri puffed bored, "My brother has always been courteous and polite towards you. He was the perfect definition of tsantu. Oh, Great Mother— he stripped his soul for you and gave you everything you wanted. Do you really blame him for getting angry for once?"
You focused your gaze back on the sand in front of you. The little shells looked like they were expecting an answer from you that never came for you didn't know what to reply to that.
"You are a grown girl. You have to be able to take a little criticism," Kiri added as she headed back to the village, "And I'm sure you both will fix it again. Buck up and get well soon." You nodded your thanks as she raised her hand in farewell and left again.
A heavy, uncomfortable silence fell over you, enveloping you like a suffocating blanket. At that moment, you felt utterly alone, isolated from the world around you not even caring of your body's aches anymore. Mirroring the depths of your solitude under the dark skies, the vast expanse of the ocean stretched out before you. Its endless waves, crashing against the shore, seemed to echo the tumultuousness of your thoughts.
You had no idea how long you had been sitting in the sand, lost in contemplation of your life when you heard footsteps behind you once again that night. This time, you didn't bother to look up, for you knew it would be one of the others who had forgotten something (though you were unsure what, as Kiri had taken everything), or perhaps your parents, searching for you.
Without a word, the person sat down across from you on his knees and reached out with his arm to pull you closer to him so that your thighs were between his knee and his between yours.
In an instant, the unmistakably pleasing scent of him infused with a mix of dew-kissed leaves and the earthy allure of sandalwood, clung to you like a whispered secret, caressed your nose and relaxed your muscles.
You endured it silently as he took a cloth out of the bowl of water he brought with him, wrung it out briefly and then carefully dabbed the area under your eye with it. He did this with so much caution and care that you felt bad for emotionally pushing him away from you. You watched his forehead furrow in concentration and he paused and waited every time you flinched at the pain.
"Since when?" you heard him speak, his voice pleasantly calm and understanding.
"Too long," you said, to which he sighed, not annoyed but rather disappointed because you continued to hold onto the emotional wall you had built long ago. "I'm sorry, Neteyam, it's just…" you struggled to find the right words.
"There's no need for apologies if you're content with staying the same."
"I'm not," you clarified honestly. "You have no idea how burdensome these lies are. I want to confide in you — it's just that I was scared of your reaction." As you spoke, you noticed how his tail twitched with interest, and his gaze shifted from the wound on your face to meet your eyes. "I was afraid that you would see me as weak and pity me. I had hoped that the lies would help me preserve this fragile facade. But I now realize I was mistaken, and for that I'm deeply sorry, Neteyam, I've never wanted to hurt your feelings."
"Y/n," Neteyam whispered, his hand tenderly caressing your cheek with a touch filled with love and affection, "my beloved, the one who holds my heart, I am sorry for pushing you before and I will wait until you are ready to talk but, please, tell me how I can help you. Tell me everything."
You shrugged, shaking your hand, looking everywhere but him.
"Neteyam, I know you want to help, but I don't want you to mess with these girls," you then looked him serious in the eyes, "Promise me that first."
A cocky smirk appeared on his lips, "Baby, if you really think I'm scared of some—"
"Neteyam," you interrupted him, your tone serious, "They may be bullies, but they're not completely stupid. They won't direct their actions towards you; they'll most likely take their anger out of your siblings."
His smirk vanished in an instant, "You know, I won't let that happen."
"I know," you affirmed sincerely. "You are their brother, and you will protect them, but you can't be everywhere all at once. You can't keep a constant watch over Tuk while also looking after Lo'ak or Kiri, for instance. Please don't risk it. I can handle it, really. I couldn't forgive myself if something happened to one of them because of me."
"I am yours, and you are mine, remember?" He smiled at you, his eyes shining. "So, you are not alone in this. I will go to any lengths to ensure your safety and well-being. I will protect you, y/n, but you must allow me to be there for you."
As the words hung in the air, a moment of silence passed between you, the weight of the conversation lingering. Then, Neteyam reached out, his hand gently intertwining with yours. The touch sent a comforting warmth through your body, bridging the emotional gap that had momentarily separated you.
With a tender squeeze of your hand, he continued, his voice filled with unwavering determination, "You are my family, too."
Feeling a surge of emotions, you took a deep breath, your heart swelling with love. You looked into Neteyam's eyes, seeing the unwavering commitment reflected back at you. With a soft smile, you nodded, letting your walls come down, and whispered, "I trust you."
The atmosphere between you shifted, charged with a newfound closeness and vulnerability. It was as if an unspoken understanding passed between your souls, fueling the desire for a deeper connection. In that very second, the world around you faded into the background, leaving only the two of you standing there, hearts entwined. With the tension of unspoken words lingering in the air, you couldn't resist the magnetic pull drawing you closer to him.
So leaning in, you pressed your lips onto his soft ones — not too gently and not too forcefully, but just right. You caught sight of his eyes widening in surprise and his body remained still, but you mustered up the last bit of courage to close your eyes and hope for the best. When you felt the feathering of his eyelashes brush against your lids, you knew he, too, had his eyes closed. Then he leaned in ever so slightly, and his hands reached up to cup your uninjured cheek and the other behind your head.
Your heart pounded so loudly and harshly that you didn't think your chest could handle it, your stomach fluttered and churned with a mess of emotions that you didn't know if they'd ever go away, and your mind flooded with thousands of unanswered questions that you thought you might faint again anytime soon. But then you pulled away, your lips and his seemingly too reluctant for the loss of contact as they attempted to remain connected until the very last second, and your eyes fluttered open to the world which had frozen still; it had been a short kiss, that's for sure, but it was one that you'd remember for years to come.
"You do something to me that I can't explain," he whispered against your lips before he retrained.
"You do the same to me," you whispered back, "but I think I can explain."
"What is it?"
"I see you," you breathed, leaning up to kiss him again.
He backed away to put some distance between you and you raised an eye questioningly.
"If I kiss you again – and believe me, every cell in my body wants to," With a nervous laugh, he scratched the back of his neck before his lustful gaze turned back to you and you physically felt the excited shimmyflies in your stomach threatening to break out, "I just know, I won't be able to stop."
"Then don't."
"Oh, sweets, you love to make it hard for me, don't you?"
An inappropriate thought crossed your mind at that but you chose not to say it out loud. You didn't have to, because Neteyam's smirk looked like he knew exactly what was going through your head.
"C'mere, we need to patch you up first, and then—"
"Then we'll go to our place?" you asked excitedly.
"After I inspect you properly and decide that you don't need to see Tsahìk which I'm not so sure of yet – yes, then we could go to our place, and watch the stars or—"
"Why don't you properly inspect me at our place?" you interrupted him with a seemingly innocent look. He licked his lower lip in amusement, shaking his head.
"You're something."
"Your something," you corrected.
He looked at you in awe, as if you are the most precious thing he had ever seen. "My something," he agreed chuckling to himself and pressed a soft kiss on the top of your head. "Now hold still so I can clean your wounds."
thank you all for reading ♥︎ I hope you enjoyed this piece of writing. looking forward to your comments and feedback 💕 (p.s. for anyone wondering about the other boys, i imagined ao'nung's "bully" friends nash'vi, koro, and ongu to sit with them)

Headcanon for human effect !!!!
Rodimus discovered how soft the ambassador is because once, they were in a meeting with UM and Megs about security protocols. Rodimus is bored a bit, so he tries to get the liaison's attention, in vain.
So he just... pokes them repeatedly in their side, because how else would he do that huh?
His digit dig a bit too much in their side, he can feel the warmth and the squishiness, and is surprise when they yelp and laugh.
"URGH!?- Rodimus! stop that it tickles hahaha!"
Oooooohh... ooh he has it baaaad... they just made the cutest noise he heard in a long time... he found their weak spot...
Megs and Mags just stare at him disappointed because the captain is unfocused and disturb the Ambassador.

The sound of shuffling and slight movement in the room is what makes the ambassador, bleary eyes cracking open slightly as they take the form of a blue mech in. "Mmm Traxies?" They call out softly looking up from where they lay against Ratchet's chassis.
Ratchet's optics online fractionally to see Traxies frozen mid-stride, jaw hanging open in blatant surprise. Drift stirred awake as well, arching a brow plate at youngling in undisguised amusement.
Venting softly, Ratchet greeted their charge in familiar tones. "Good morning, Traxies. Causing trouble already, before the sun cycle?" Traxes gulped audibly, tripping over his pedes in haste to explain. "J-just wanted some energon, don't mind me! Uh - didn't mean to interrupt..." He trailed off, wide optics roving over the three in utter disbelief.
Drift finally lost composure, snickering into his servo. Ratchet merely cycled a ventilation, serenely cradling the now-wakening ambassador. They pull their blanket closer in embarrassment being caught in such an undress state.
Traxes cycled his optics rapidly, pedes rooted to the floor in awkward shock. "Uh, hey Ambassador. Fancy seeing you here..." He trailed off, field pulsing distressed embarrassment. Drift took pity, sending the younger mech. "Relax, kid. But you might want to be quick before this becomes anymore awkward for everyone”
The medic frowned half-heartedly before turning a softer expression to Traxies. "I wasn't aware you would be back today." His tone is soft. Traxes shuffled awkwardly, kicking at imaginary scrapes on the floor. "So you - uh, fraggin' my friend now?" He blurted before wilting under Ratchet's stern glare.
Drift howled laughter, drawing a foam pillow and lobbing it at the pouting youngling's helm. "Don't get your wires knotted! Go fuel up, we'll be along shortly." With a mumbled apology, Traxes beat a hasty retreat.
The Ambassador groans and presses their face into Ratchet chassis out of embarrassment. "Fuck" They mumble as the feeling Drift move to get out of berth. Their body felt like jelly and they truly didn't want to move, but knew they had to. Ratchet's chassis hums beneath the ambassador's cheek. "There now, no harm done," the medic soothed gently.
Drift stretched languidly as he rose, pausing to send them both fond smile. "He'll get over it. Ain't the first time that mechlet's walked in on more'n he bargained for."
Ratchet rumbled a quiet chuckle, stroking their back with utmost care."Stay as long as you need." He whispered to them. They let out a sigh. "I've got work today Ratchet, Bridge command meeting about our next port and sending reports back to Cybertron. I think we might also be heading back to Cybertron. I don't look forward to having a holo meeting with Prowl again" they explain.
Ratchet let out a theatrical groan at the Ambassador's words. "Primus spare us all from Prowl and his endless bureaucracy," he grumbled.
Rising smoothly, he settled their draped guest against the berth with utmost care as he recovered their clothing and bag. "Well then, best get you ready, can't have you leaving looking a mess sweet thing."
Drift poked his helm back in, wearing an impish grin. "Sounds like Ratch better patch you up right quick, Ambassador. Can't be limping through a vid call with Prowl looking like you spent the night trapped under this lugnut!"
A rude gesture was the medic's only response, though his weathered faceplates crinkled with wry humour. "Scoot, you rusting gearstick - go make yourself useful."
"Ratchet, Drift. Thank you for last night, it was lovely" they call to the two mechs before turning around with their clothing in hand to try and get dressed despite how sore they still are.
“Pah, don't go getting all sappy now," Ratchet huffed,
"Anytime you need a couple mechs to help...relax tensions," Drift coos only for Ratchet to swat the mech away, vents gusting irritation. But his optics shone with plain affection as they tracked the Drift's movements. "Take care on your travels and try not to let Prowl's do you in"
Leaving the suite was a struggle, not wanting to get caught as they left. But walking down the halls with a slight limp was something they could easily state as twisting their ankle.
Just as the ambassador rounded the corner, two familiar figures fell into step beside them - Nadia and Millian, matching grins stretching across their faces.
"Well well, look who finally decided to crawl out of bed," Nadia drawled archly, shamelessly raking her gaze over the ambassador's slightly dishevelled state. "Quite a night, hm?"
Millian snickered, throwing an arm around their shoulders. "You dog! Spill the deets - whose bed were you warming, to work up such a limp?" Their smirk made clear they already guessed the culprits.
Wincing, the ambassador tried to shrug them off with little success. "Nothing to tell. I'd prefer to keep my private business private, if you don't mind."
But Nadia was having none of it, sidling close to share a conspicuous wink. "Ooh, getting cosy with the bot brass, are we? Can't say I blame you - they do know how to show a human a good time."
Her grin widened at the ambassador's flustered face, taking their silence as confirmation enough. "Guys enough, I'm already in a bad position if 'this' " they make a hand gesture at the two. "Gets out to Earth or Cybertron, it will be my neck in a noose so please don't" they try to settle the matter. They did enjoy chatting with Nadia and Millian but this was against regulation and if Megatron, Rodimus or Ultra Magnus got whiff of it, it could mean their job on the Lost light.
Nadia and Millian sobered slightly at the ambassador's sombre tone, exchanging glances. "Alright, alright, we'll can it with the teasing," Nadia sighed, giving their arm a gentle squeeze. "You know we've got your back, yeah? No way would we see you in real trouble."
Millian nodded earnestly. "You're one of us, Ambassador - we look out for our own." Their grin returned, softer around the edges. "But hey, if anyone asks, you definitely did NOT just limp out of Ratchet's quarters. Cross my heart!"
Nadia snickered, nudging them playfully. Her smile turned sincere as she studied their friend's tired yet peaceful expression. "And between us? I'm glad you found a little respite aboard this floating madhouse. We all need that, now and then."
"Thank you, I'll give you guys some details later but I do have a meeting with bridge command and I need to try and make it look like I didn't just crawl out of bed with two mechs" they mumble softly only for the two to give them a look of pure shock.
"Two?!" Millian echoes in a frankly scandalised yelp. Nadia elbows them sharply, making frantic shushing motions with her hands.
"Keep it down, you idiot!" She hisses under her breath before turning back to the ambassador with gleaming eyes. "Well well, you little minx - getting cosy with both the medic and robo Samurai" Her grin is positively wolfish.
concern shadows Millian’s gaze. "Just be careful, Ambassador. Fraternisation regs or no - getting tangled up with high command could spell trouble if word spreads."
Nadia nods earnestly. "They're right. Not that we don't support you, but..." she fidgets, taking their hands, giving a gentle squeeze.
"Both Ratchet and Drift made it clear they don't expect anything from me. offered if I need stress relief I was welcome. Plus Ratchet would rather know what I'm getting up to Incase he needs to perform medical on me" they whisper to them as the three walk towards the Ambassador's next stop.
"Hmm. Well that's reasonable enough, I suppose," Nadia muses pragmatically, though a glint of mischief remains in her eyes. "And who could resist the charms of those two mechs? You do have excellent taste, I'll give you that."
Millian grin softens as they near the lift that will take the ambassador to their meeting. "Jokes aside, I'm glad you've found comfort here, weird ship though it is. Not the life any of us expected, but..."
They shrugs amicably. "We make the most of what joys we can. And there are certainly perks to rubbing plating with the people in charge." A final wink, and Millian steps back with Nadia, offering a casual salute.
"Knock 'em dead at the meeting, Ambassador. And try not to limp too obviously" they chuckle as the lift doors close.
Megatron is sitting looking rather bored, but his optics light up when he sees the Ambassador a small smile graces his faceplate. Magnus gives a small nod while Rodimus smiles like a fool waving before making his way towards them. "Hello Rodimus, sorry I twisted my ankle earlier and it's not pleasant to walk" they chuckle softly hoping the lie passed over their helms without making them question how.
Magnus merely nodded greeting, ever professional and stern. "Let us proceed with the agenda. Your tardiness sets us behind schedule."
Rodimus, of course, could not be contained. "Oof, rough night? Happens to the best of us!" He moves towards them with a smile. "Ratchet patch you up okay?"
Ultra Magnus sighed heavily. "Captain, please. We are in the midst of official proceedings."
"I'm alright, Ratchet said it will be fine nothings broken, just going to be sore for a bit." They confirm to Rodimus as the mech picks them up and brings them to the table. Rodimus continues to let his servos and digits poke the Ambassador. Making them fidget.
"Have we heard from Optimus if we have been requested to return to Cybertron, he was rather worried about Traxies, or if Galactica Union has asked for a new report on our recent travels?" They inquire dreading and hoping they didn't have to have another holo meeting with Prowl.
Megatron studied the interplay with optics gleaming curiosity. " Captain, do cease your pestering the Liason." His field pulsed amusement as Rodimus reluctantly set the squirming human down. "To answer your query, Ambassador - I'm afraid your schedule remains as packed as ever. Word from Prime requests our return within the decacycle, and the Union demands their tedious status updates with predictable punctuality."
Ultra Magnus nodded curt approval. "And Prowl as well, regarding the security details and records of the ship. He requires an immediate vid conference to...discuss developments." Rodimus groaned dramatically. "Ugh, leave it to Prowl to ruin a perfect morning. Why can't he just lurk in the shadows like Megs here and let us have our fun?"
Megatron shoots Rodimus a glare but does make an effort to dignify Rodimus’ remark. "Ah sounds about right, I can't convince one of you to handle the Prowl meeting? I will happily deal with Optimus or the Galactica union, and take on extra work. Please" they nearly beg, only to yelp as Rodimus' digits run up their side making them stiffen not expecting the contact. "Rodimus!"
Megatron observed with growing amusement as the small human squirmed fruitlessly in Rodimus's mischievous grasp. "Captain, tormenting them will not make their tasks any easier."
He turned a gaze of singular intent upon Ultra Magnus. "I believe a request was made, Magnus. And as holders of far greater stamina and patience with the Enforcer, taking the meeting would be a small alleviation to your schedule, would it not?"
Magnus's field pulsed reluctance but duty compelled as expected. "Very well. As ranking officer, handling communication with Alliance High Command falls under my purview. I will handle Prowl at the scheduled time."
Rodimus whooped with glee, finally releasing the frazzled ambassador. "Looks like you're off the hook! Maybe you can help me with some more of those charts you were showing me last time so I can get better at reading them." He grinned down at them.
They slowly lean back into Rodimus as they talk with Megatron and Ultra Magnus. "I'll make sure we are stocked for the trip back, do you need to organise anyone for the quantum generators maintenance?" The Ambassador asks, shuttering again as Rodimus continues to touch them.
Ultra Magnus cleared his intake, field broadcasting discomfort yet compelled as ever by duty. "I will see to ensuring all systems are fully prepped and operational for transit. Your role is coordination with our human team so they are set for a quantum jump, Ambassador."
Rodimus fairly purred against the human's back, appreciating how warm their smaller frame is against his. They are so soft and plush in his servos and primus he doesn't want to let go of them.

"Give it back, Y/N!" said George, trying to grab his journal out of your hands but you wouldn't budge. You went into his dorm after class like usual to find that all was left was a note telling you that he would be back soon. You had found his opened journal to see that he was writing about you, more so what he wanted to do to you and you to him. He walked in on you holding it in your hands while laying in his bed, grinning devilishly.
You continued to play your little game, fighting George off on top of you while trying to keep the page you were on with your finger in the book. You giggled at how your giant of a boyfriend was failing, a little mean but you were being playful. "Don't make me tickle you!" He threatened.
You knew he got you there, you hated tickling. But you felt a bit bratty, which was something he had in his journal. You put your forehead against his, slowly grinding against him and whispered, "Make me."
"Oh, you're going to regret that." George grabs the book out of your hand and throws it across the room, not caring where it landed. He cups your face and meets his lips with yours, his tongue forcing his way in. You feel a hand sneak under your shirt and play with your tits, softly rubbing your nipple in between his index finger and thumb while sucking on your neck.
You let out a whimper at the contact, which made you feel a chuckle vibrate against your skin, a grin forming. George slowly moved his hand off-making you whine at the loss of contact-and found its way under your skirt and in your panties, rubbing small circles on your clit. You let out a soft moan, wanting more. He understood and slowly slid two fingers inside you, making you moan louder as he thrusted them in and out of your heat. Thankfully, you put the muffliato charm on his dorm awhile ago.
"You're practically soaked, little one." He said.
"Fuck don't stop daddy, it feels so good!" You moaned out.
George's eyes winded, the realization that you really read his journal hitting him. But he didn't show any signs of nervousness or embarrassment, he wanted this. He was waiting for this.
"Yeah? You like when daddy fingers your tight cunt like this?"
You nodded profusely, never breaking your eyes from his deep brown ones. "Use your words."
"Yes daddy, I l-love it-fuck!" You felt yourself getting closer and closer to the edge, the knot in your stomach tightening as your clenched around his fingers. You thought you were going to be in for a treat, as one of the things he said he wanted to do was overstimulate you.
But he stopped suddenly, pulling his fingers out of you. The look on his face went from lust to rosy cheeks slowly, making you concerned as his eyes looked down to his coated fingers.
"Hey, what's wrong bubs?" You asked.
"I-I dunno," he said, not making eye contact, "the embarrassment is hitting me, I guess."
You sat yourself up, using your left elbow for support as your right hand cupped the side of his face. You gently moved his head to look up to you and you smiled when you saw his eyes meet yours. "We don't have to do this if you feel uncomfortable, Georgie," You began, "I am truly sorry I looked into your journal. I invaded your personal space and that wasn't ok. You don't have to be embarrassed, though! The amount that I read is the reason why I'm so wet right now. I'd be thinking about it all night even if we didn't do anything."
George gave you a little smile just enough to show that he didn't feel as embarrassed as he did. "This is why I love you, Y/N," he said, "I do want this. I've been daydreaming about this all night every night for the past couple of months. I just didn't want to push you into something you weren't comfortable with."
"You're literally the sweetest guy I've met," you smiled, "But that's why we have conversations like this. That's important."
He got off on top of you and lay next to you, rubbing lightly on your arm with his clean hand. You took his other hand and put his fingers in your mouth, swirling your tongue around slowly as you tasted yourself. When you took them out with a pop sound, you thought he almost lost it.
"So, how much did you read?" He asked curiously.
A cheeky grin appeared on your face. "What other ideas do you have in that brain of yours, Weasley?"
With a cheeky grin of his own, George got off, stood at the foot of the bed and started stripping. As each piece of clothing came off, your eyes couldn't dart away even if you wanted to. His body was immaculate, and your favorite part was his v-line. He stripped off his pants and boxers, his cock springing free and hitting his stomach lightly.
"Like the view?" He asked as he stroked his cock.
You bit your lip as your legs closed and rubbed together, trying to get some sort of friction.
"Don't close your legs, darling," His voice was low and dark, "I want you to take your panties off and rub your clit for me. I want you to beg for my cock, and until you do, you're going to have to just watch."
You didn't hesitate. You did as you were told, rubbing your clit and letting out little mules and whines. The sight of him getting off was so hot to you-seeing the mix of pleasure and the torture on his face making you drip. Picking up the pace, you let out loud moans. You couldn't take your own teasing. You wanted him. Needed him.
"Oh please daddy, please fuck me. I need your cock inside me so baaaad-fuck I'm aching for you, daddy please please please I want to cum all over your cock!"
He pounced on top of you and started moving the head of his cock against your slit, teasing you before pushing himself deep inside you. You both let out moans and groans as you adjusted. George then slowly moves in and out before picking up the pace. You bit your lip as you wanted to take everything in, but he didn't like that.
"C'mon, be a good girl and let daddy hear those pretty noises of yours." He said before taking his cock fully out and slamming back into you, causing you to let out a high pitch moan.
George hid his face against the crook of your neck, feeling the vibrations of his groans on your neck as he left open mouth kisses. "Godric, you're so tight. You make me feel so good." He whispered in your ear.
"Feels so good, daddy...S-so big!" You moaned.
"You like being stretched out like this? Like when daddy's all the way deep inside you like this?"
You clenched around his cock, feeling the knot in your stomach getting tighter again. "You wanna cum for me, little one? Wanna make a mess over daddy's cock?"
"Yesyesyes please daddy let me cum! I'm so c-close. Don't stop don't stop don't stop!" Your nails were digging into his back, dragging them down and leaving marks. He hissed at the pain out of pleasure, chuckling breathlessly against your skin as you felt him twitch inside you.
George placed his hand on top of yours, interlocking your fingers together. "Fuck I'm close, too. You ready for my cum? You wanna cum with me?"
"Please daddy, fill me up with your cum. Please cum with me...ooooh fuck iwannacumiwannacumiwannacuuuummm!"
"Cum," he growled, "cum with daddy. Let g-goooo fuuuuuckk!"
"i'mcummingi'mcummingi'mcummingggg!"
The knot in your stomach broke, spilling curse word after course word from your lips as you felt your walls being coated in his warmth. George bit your shoulder as he rode out both your highs. He stayed inside for a few moments before slowly pulling out, watching it pour out of you and onto his bed.
"That's so hot." He finally said.
You let out a weak chuckle. "We should've thought about a towel." You joked, making him giggle a little bit.
George got off the bed and went into his bathroom, grabbing a wet wash cloth to clean you up. When he was finished, he lay beside you, wrapping his arm around you and letting your wrap yours around his waist. You snuggled your head into his chest, the feeling of his comfort taking over you.
"You did so good, bubs." He said, kissing the top of your head as you felt the tips of his fingers softly moving against your arm.
"I never thought of you as one with a daddy kink, but it is really hot." you said softly, already feeling yourself drifting in and out.
"Oh, I was going easy on you there. There's more that I want to show you."
"Well, I'll be ready for when that time comes. But right now I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open."
"What, no round two?"
"I love you, Weasley." You said, rolling your eyes at him as your eyes closed.
"Love you, too, Y/L/N."

klaus hargreeves x reader
requested: anon
prompts: 165- “this might hurt” 291- “is that blood?” 300- “i can take care of myself” and 302- “i can’t breathe”
summary: when trying to save vanya and the world, you get a bit hurt
warnings: cursing, tooth rotting fluff babyyyyy
word count: 2k
a/n: holy shit i uploaded something! anyways, the requestor gave me an option between five and klaus and i had to do klaus because i haven’t written anything for him yet and i want to so baaaad so thank you anon
also @generouswombyrat , yours is next i promise lol
it’s loud, and the flashing lights would have made you pass out if you hadn’t made it to the cover of the counter to protect yourselves while you thought of a plan.
“vanya’s in the room at the end of the hall.” diego has to raise his voice to be heard over what the woman was causing.
allison has her hands on the sides of her head, you assume to block out some of the noise that is threatening to rip your hearing away from you. “how do you propose we get to her?”
“you can count me out.” klaus says from beside you, defeated and with a flask held in his hand. when the two siblings look at him in disbelief, he tries to defend himself, “what? you guys should save her. you’re great at all the hero shit.”
after allison reaches over to slap him, he leans against your shoulder while you roll your eyes. “listen, listen, vanya would understand ‘cause she has realistic expectations of what i am. and what i am, is sexy trash!”
“you’re a big pussy, that’s what you are,” diego tells him in annoyance.
“guys, this is not the time,” you speak over their small argument.
“why, because i don’t want to die? who does?” klaus questions you, waving his hand around in front of you, “and martyrs aren’t around to enjoy the victory party, ‘cause they’re dead!” he ends his sentence with a shout and you roll your eyes.
diego crawls over to where klaus sits, grabbing onto his shirt, “you are going out there,” the other grabs at his arm to push him away, complaining, “or i’m gonna beat you!”
“that’s my cue.” your head whips away from the argument and to allison as she moves from behind your only cover. the others stop fighting and the three of you shout at her to stop, but she’s already began to fight against the wave of energy flowing from the room vanya was being held in.
after hearing her yell out for the woman, there’s a thump on the other side of your cover, and you suck in a breath.
“alright, i’m going.” diego tells the two of you after peaking out from behind the wall.
“no, wait, wait, wait, wait,” klaus grabs onto his arm to stop him from going.
the other looks at him in annoyance, “what?”
“if you don’t make it back, there’s one thing that i need to tell you.” diego was beginning to wave him off, since you didn’t exactly have time for a heart to heart. “you look like antonio banderas with the long hair.”
you slap a hand to your forehead as diego looked at him as if he told him the most sincere thing. “thanks, man.”
“my god,” you groan, crawling over klaus in order to peak around and watch as the man digs his knives into the floor. as he begins to slow, you bite your lip, “keep going!” you shout, “you can do it!”
“i’m not gonna make it!” he shouts back to you, and you shake your head as you look back to klaus, who was still curling in on himself. “you guys have to do it!”
he pulls on a tie holding some sort of rope coiled, and it comes flying towards you. a second later, you feel another thump against the wood.
you take a deep, shaky breath. you have to do this. “okay, klaus.” you glance over at him as you reach up towards the rope, “if i die, just know...” you think for a moment as you bite into your lip, wondering if it’s the best idea to pour your feelings out at a moment like this.
“no,” you sigh, “i’ll make it.”
“wait!” klaus yells as he grabs onto you, “what do i need to know?”
you shake your head, “it’s not important.” you make sure your grip is tight, enough for you to make it. “i’ll see you on the other side!”
“don’t die please!”
when you pull yourself from behind your protection, the force of the wave vanya was sending was much stronger than you expected it to be. your eyes were watering as you tried to look forward, into the flashing lights, but they were already giving you a headache.
you hear klaus shouting at you, but you can’t hear him over the energy. just as you were getting closer to the door, your strength was weakening, but you continued moving one hand at a time to pull yourself forward.
when you pull your eyes away for one second to look away from the lights, your hand misses the rope, and your eyes widen as you lose your grip and go flying back, straight into the wall.

your head feels like it’s spinning when you wake up, the lack of the whooshing energy making your ears ring. it feels like the air has been knocked out of you, and it probably was. “oh god, i can’t breathe.”
“are you okay?” the one who caused all of this runs to the four of you.
“vanya,” allison breathes out from beside you.
you groan as you push yourself up, ignoring the dizziness you felt. “physically or emotionally?” klaus questions as he holds himself up on his elbows.
diego pushes himself onto his knees, looking up to her with a smile. “you’re alive.”
“did we save the world or what?” klaus questions as he finally sits up.
you run your fingers through your hair, “i think so. the building’s still here.”
the ticking of diego’s watch catches your attention as you look to it. “kennedy’s a few minutes away.” he points out, quickly getting to his feet, “i can still save him.”
allison calls to him as he begins his way down the hall, following after him in an attempt to stop him.
“is that blood?” you look to klaus as he questions you, and it’s only then that you notice the metallic taste in your mouth.
reaching up to touch your lip, you flinch when you realize it had somehow split open. you cringe at the slight sting the contact brought. “nah, it’s ketchup.” you chuckle as you wipe the blood from your lip.
he rolls his eyes. “we need to patch it up. i’m sure there’s some sort of medical kit stashed away around here.”
“no need,” you wave your hand in the air, “i can take care of myself. we have some more important things to worry about.”
shaking his head, he pushes himself up off the ground before holding his hand out to you. “we already saved the world. everyone else can deal with diego.”
sighing, you take his hand and he helps you up off the ground.
after searching all nearby rooms, you eventually find a med kit. being in an office, it was easiest to hop up onto the desk to let klaus take care of the wound.
once he had opened the kit and grabbed everything he needed, he stepped in front of you. “that was an interesting experience.” he comments about the whole ordeal you just went through.
“that’s our lives.” you respond with a sigh.
nodding, he grabs a paper towel that had been soaked in water. you both decided it was the best way to clean it, at least a little bit.
“this might hurt.” he tells you softly, carefully grabbing your chin to press the paper to your lip. he’s right. it felt like it was burning from the slightly rough texture, but you were able to ignore it. you had gone through worse, after all.
after a second of dabbing at the cut, he pulls the towel away with a smile. “there we go. all clean.” he throws the towel to the side and grabs one of the surgical tape strips, carefully using it to close the wound. “hopefully that works.” he claps his hands together.
you smile, quickly stopping when you feel the tape and your cut trying to pull open. “thanks.” you hum, before you notice the blood that had poured from his nose.
without saying a word, you grab the wet towel. after folding it over to avoid the part covered with your blood, you grab his chin to pull him towards you. “what are you doing?” he questions.
“blood.” you tell him simply, wiping away at the already drying liquid. your eyebrows furrow as you tilt his chin, “how did you get some on your neck?”
he simply shrugs as you clean it up.
shaking your head, you look him over to make sure there wasn’t anymore blood on him. you still hold his chin as he looks at you, a small grin on his face. “checking me out?”
“for blood, yes.” you chuckle, releasing him and tossing the towel into a nearby trash can.
he’s still looking at you, and you let your shoulders fall slightly to release some of the tension in them, “why are you staring at me like that?”
“i’m glad you didn’t die.” he tells you.
you let out a soft laugh, “well, i’m glad you didn’t die either.”
he grins, glancing to the side for a second, “what were you going to tell me?” he asks.
“hm?” your eyebrows raise a bit.
“before you tried to make it to vanya,” he expands on his question, “you said you wanted me to know something.”
you knew exactly what he was talking about, but you thought about just acting clueless. apparently you didn’t think enough before sacrificing yourself earlier.
sitting up slightly, you shrug, “i... i don’t know. it doesn’t matter.”
“what are you talking about? of course it matters.” he hops up on the desk to sit next to you, his legs swinging slightly. “just spit it out. you know it will feel better.”
looking to him, your shoulders slump slightly. “it’s hard to say.” you sigh, running your hand down your face, and beginning to feel that your heart is beating just a little bit faster than before. “okay, i’m just gonna say it. i like you. i might even be in love with you, i-”
you’re not able to finish your rambling about your feelings, since the moment he had heard you admit to them he had leaned forward and pressed his lips to yours.
your heart felt like it was soaring as your eyes closed, and you could feel the slight sting in your lip but it didn’t matter because shit, klaus was kissing you.
you’re not sure how long it lasted, but it didn’t feel long enough once he pulled away. it took a moment for your eyes to open again, as you were relishing the moment. but a smile is on both of your faces when you look at him, and you know then that you are definitely in love with him.

Your tags 'imaginw David coming up behind him and Matteo straightening (lol) up for a kiss'???? Please write like two sentences about that or something. Please.
SAY LESS, MY FRIEND. also 💀this is a lot longer than two sentences, i am baaaad at listening to instructions
Matteo dragged his finger along the surface of David’s desk, the tip of his fingernail getting caught in the small ridges and dents. Some of them resembled the deep slices of blunt knives while others looked like small dents caused by scribbling on pages aggressively. He felt like it was the most blatant form of expression that David could pour himself into without uttering a single word. This desk held so much of David and Matteo could only hope that he would be able to hold the same amount.
“What are you doing?” David broke Matteo’s trance as he walked up to behind the chair, his hands resting on the back as he leaned over Matteo to look down at the desk. Matteo merely hummed in reply and straightened his posture, looking up at David with wide eyes. David stared back down with the same expression.
Seeing David in the soft glow of the lamp, existing so freely in the space he created for himself, was fresh air that he didn’t know he needed. He supposed it had something to do with the vulnerability that only existed in the four walls of their privacy.
“I love you,” Matteo mumbled and the words struck the same chords they did earlier. The high of being in love -- and being loved just the same -- made his insides churn and all he could focus on was David. David was here. He was in David’s room.
“I love you too.” The words were soft and gentle, plated with a care that resembled the same care that David used as he leaned down to press a kiss against Matteo’s lips.

SEEDS THAT GROW - madasaku, tobisaku, ita(ma)saku, sasusaku
CHAPTER 1 - GOOD THINGS
First chapter of the AU I have in my head. I’m just testing the waters because I’m not sure about continuing this because it’d be pr long? Like long, and maybe slow burn? It’d be a studentxteacher AU bc i’m a sucker for those. Hurt/comfort, but has depressing themes. Angsty? Dont know if its worth writing bc I’m not a writer at all i’m not good at it but I’m giving it a shot !!
TW: Depressing themes, mentions of anxiety, doing drugs and alcohol
It was loud in the house, but at least it was a familiar kind of loud that she could appreciate. People were laughing and yelling and it wasn’t ideal for Sakura, but she was excited to be going out partying. It was rare for her to feel excited about most things but clubbing on freshers week was definitely an opportunity she wanted to take advantage of; she just wanted so badly to have fun again.
“Sakura! I have more vodka, pass me your cup! I know you’re aiming to get wasted tonight babe!” Ino dragged Sakura to her side of the kitchen counter.
“Honestly, not complaining! I NEED to get drunk, lets go!!” Sakura hollered as Ino poured her a large amount of vodka and mixed it with not enough lemonade. Ino may be an experienced clubber, but she never mixed her drinks right and that’s how Ino always ended up puking by the end of the night.
Not that Ino ever really regretted it though, she lived on the edge.
More, I want to drink more. Note, get some soju next time to get fucked fast. 4 badly mixed drinks in, she knew she was tipsy and her giggling wasn’t starting to make sense. She was relatively lightweight, but that just meant it was easier for her to get to everyone’s levels. All the girls were laughing, even Hinata was starting to get loud over the music. Sakura was getting more excited by the minute and her smiles were getting wider by the second. This is going to be a fun night.
“Shall we leave now? If we leave now I think we’ll get in by decent time where we won’t be too late or early.” Tenten spoke loudly over the music. “Plussss I think all of us are on a good level of drunk to dance it out tonight!”
“Oh shit I’ll call an uber now-”
“Wait!! Do it in 5 minutes Temari! I got a present for y’all before our first sem of second year starts..” Ino smiled wickedly. The girls looked at her brows furrowed, unsure of what Ino was leading on to. “Oh come on!! You know! I got some from Shika and for a discount!” Sakura’s eyes widened, she knew exactly what Ino was on about.
“Woah, already? Honestly I forgot we had even tried that in first year!” Sakura smiled as her face fell into her hands, she was even more excited now. “I’ll have just a little okay, because I’m honestly...really tipsy..” Ino grabbed Sakura’s hands and placed the budding joint between her delicate numb fingers.
“I’ll have me some of that please and thank you! I can’t believe Shikamaru gave it to you for a cheap price! Bitch you’ve been banging him haven’t you?!” Tenten roared across the counter in their kitchen. Wicked was the face Ino plastered on but she simply answered with a zip of her lips.
“Call the uber!”
It was going to be a night to remember.
--
Lights flashed and Stormzy’s Vossi Bop boomed loudly throughout the club, causing a large roar of students jumping and yelling. Drinks were flying everywhere and the floor was sticky with alcohol, but the girls wouldn’t have preferred it any other way.
“Oh my god. Ino! Shikamaru is there looking over at you!” Sakura whispered loudly to the blonde’s ears. Ino’s face, already red from alcohol, turned even redder at the mention of the boy’s name. “Go oveerrr come on I know how much you love making out-”
“Shut up forehead!” Ino shouted. She was dancing in the circle of their group squashed by the many other students all jumping and dancing over the loud R&B music. “Okay I’m gonna go over, will you be okay?”
“Of course! I’m not drunk!”
“Yes you are!” Ino laughed. “Finish that drink of yours! That’s like what you’re seventh?” Ino yelled to Sakura’s ear.
“Sakura’s on a mission tonight!” Temari yelled from the centre of their circle and jumped to the music.
Sakura nodded her head grinning as she downed the glass sloppily with the alcohol spilling from her mouth. Sakura was feeling good. Her body was feeling alive with the music, she was having fun, she was with people she loved and trusted, and she couldn’t feel anything but the music on her skin and alcohol on her lips.
“I’ll be fine!” Sakura reassured her with slurring words, with Hinata and Tenten pulling Sakura closer into their group. Ino nodded and winked at the girls, leaving their tight circle and squeezing her way towards Shikamaru. Sakura wondered how fun it must feel to be chased and wanted the way Ino was. She’d be lying if she said she didn’t miss the feeling of hands over her waist and the broad shoulders of-
No. Nope. Remember that’s a baaaad trigger and we aren’t going there!
“Girls shall we get more drinks? Temari’s only tipsy!” Tenten shouted.
“More drinks!?” Hinata squealed, barely able to hide her own drunken state.
“Me and Temari will get some, you guys can choose if you want to! But I don’t think Sakura should have anymore.” Tenten laughed looking at Sakura’s slanted smile and red face.
At the bar it was less crowded, but not by much. The girls had to hold hands and squeeze through people otherwise they’d lose each other in the sea of alcoholic students. Sakura was holding on to Hinata for dear life, pushing people away as she tried to get to the bar. She was just almost there with the girls, until suddenly she was seeing the floor and a pair of strong arms caught her.
“Shit, are you alright?” a soothing voice woke Sakura from her heavy eyes.
She blinked slightly trying to make the image of the man in front of her, but she couldn’t recognise him. Her vision was so misconstrued and she could barely make out where in the club she was. “Hey, hey, don’t worry, just get up slowly.” the voice told her.
Who...what...who is this? Where’s Tenten? Hinata? Her thoughts ran as she stood up and was pushed into the man in front of her. Ugh...Sakura, remember this, you fell..and..soothing voice. Tall man. Is that black hair?? There’s a certain shine to it... She squinted her eyes trying to focus on the man as her vision kept swaying. Her head was pounding and the club was changing, moving, morphing... but the man was steady in front of her, his eyes looking right at her amongst the chaos of the club. It’s so dark…
She moved closer to him to smell the alcohol on his mouth. Her mouth curved into a small slight smile as she giggled in front of him, not sure of what she was doing.
“Yeah i’m fine, but...so are you.” she giggled over the music, her voice getting higher by the end of her sentences. She couldn’t really see anything and she could barely hear her own thoughts over the loud blasting music but she could feel his hands on her back. It was innocent, but she liked the warm feeling. The touch, the feel, the electricity.
Maybe it was because she was drunk, but she snaked her arms onto his shoulders and drew her face closer. She wanted to feel more. In the club everything was blurry, she could feel him, and his hands snaked a little lower to her waist.
“I like..the way you look.” She slurred, her face inches away from his. She could barely even see his face in the dark, but handsome was all she could think of. She saw a smile, or maybe it was a smirk, hell she didn’t know.
“You’re very drunk.”
“I know.” He laughed.
“Where are your friends?”
“The bar...”
“Okay, let’s get you back safe to them-” He stopped as her lips crashed onto his. Her body was pressed against his and she could hear him grunting. He didn’t push her away, but she could feel he was hesitant.
That was, until he hugged her tight and let her tongue slip in. He tasted sweet, but poisonous. She could taste the alcohol in his mouth mixed with a sweetness that tasted foreign. Her hands slid behind his neck and into his hair as he pushed his mouth against hers even harder. It felt so good, and there was a rush of adrenaline rising in Sakura’s body on top of every other intoxication that was swirling inside her.
Sakura remember this, remember this...you made out with this tall man, he smells like…citrus?
She tightened her hold on his hair, desperate to fall in this delightful, hazy and hot moment. She almost forgot what a hot makeout session with someone felt and tasted like; oh how she fucking missed this.
He pulled back with heavy breaths; his eyes and large hands were still on her, and she felt so at large in this fuzzy busy place swamped with other drunks. She was catching her breath as well whilst trying to get a hold of her vision. She looked down and noticed just how close they really were, and how much bigger than her he really was.
He chuckled, a small goofy grin on his face.
He was really cute.
“Sakura! There you are- HEY GET OFF HER!” Sakura whipped her head in a daze to the familiar voice.
“Temari?” The said girl yanked the pink haired student away from the arms of the man. Sakura fell back into Temari’s hold giggling cheekily, glancing at the other girls.
“Sakura are you okay? Sorry I let go, you just fell and then I couldn't find you because of all the people!” Hinata cried out.
“Did the man hurt you?” Tenten asked.
“Nope!” Sakura chuckled. She was clearly drunk, and if her literally hanging onto Temari’s shoulders wasn’t enough indication of her alcoholic state, her red blushed face definitely said ‘drunk’.
“Sorry to trouble you, hope she’s fine.” He turned to the drunk girl he had the pleasure of making out with. “Happy I caught you.” He grinned, and slipped past the dancing crowd.
All she remembered was seeing a glimmer of red before her vision had darkened and faded to black.
--
“Alright, so make sure to study this chapter for next week’s class. And a reminder, all of you should have started your assignment this week even though we’re only two weeks in. I expect good work.”
Sakura typed out the notes on the projection. This was her last class of the day, and thank god it was because she was exhausted. Second year had started more like a rollercoaster than first year had; she was ready to get into her books and assignments but this was another level of crazy. It sucked to be frank. She was excited to get back to studying and really wanted to do well, she had the motivation to excel like how she would normally be able to. However, she hasn’t been able to locate that person. She wasn’t failing, but she wasn’t working at her usual efficient standards and this was not a Sakura that she wanted to be.
But it’s the Sakura she has been for over a year now.
“Haruno Sakura?” a deep voice called. She looked up from her bag and saw her professor.
“Yes sir?”
“You don’t have to call me sir, just Madara is fine. No need for that, you're in second year.” He said calmly with a slight smile. Sakura nodded and smiled embarrassingly. “About the introductory session you volunteered to help with, are you still doing that?”
Ah fuck. Sakura totally forgot about that. She had signed up to help volunteer with the session for people aspiring to do medicine in University of Konoha.
“Yes sir- uh Madara.” The name felt weird in her mouth.
“Okay, good. There’s a meeting later today at 5pm, you should have gotten an email about it?”
“I must have missed it, sorry. It’s been really hectic but I’ll definitely be there.”
“I understand, it’s very different from the first year experience isn’t it?” he chuckled, arms crossed.
“It really is, but I’ll be fine. And I’ll be there today at 5pm.” she repeated, not so much to reassure Madara but more to remind herself.
“Alright, I’ll see you later. Keep up the work.” He waved off as he walked away. Sakura let out a breath she was holding. She didn’t know Madara very well but had occasionally passed by him in first year. He was a very tall man with a brooding face, but he wasn’t very scary in all honesty. He was actually quite friendly for the serious face he had.
It was just Sakura who was anxious speaking to people.
You’d think at 21, in her second year of university, having done 3 months of an internship with the well known Konoha Hospital shadowing the famous Tsunade, that she would be confident enough to talk to her professor. Even her coursemates. Or really, anyone. That guy who works for the sim card company. The cafeteria people. Honestly, this was a problem for her. She was always so anxious when there was a conversation she hadn’t planned on having; but it wasn’t always like this. At least she doesn’t sound anxious, she could fake the confidence.
She was out of the medical building and on her way to the cafe street where she would meet Ino. She needed to just talk.
Kokoro Kafe was their meeting spot. She entered the softly illuminated cafe. Smiling to herself, she remembered why this was their meeting spot. It was adorned with gold lined lights hanging from variable lengths, pink and grey walls with pink LED lights; all of it was so very pretty. The serving counter and cashier were situated in the centre of the large cafe, like an island amongst the sea of pink and yellow lights. It had such an urban but almost angelic atmosphere to it, making it very welcoming for the many students and teachers of UoK.
“Forehead!” a blonde with a high ponytail that could only be Ino, stood up waving. Sakura smiled, jogging to the back of the cafe. “I ordered you your fave, mint chocolate chip ice cream and sprinkles on top. I also got a large hot coco to share because you look like you need it!” Ino exclaimed, pushing the hot coco with frothy whip cream towards Sakura.
“It’s honestly just been such a long day. I had Kakashi from 9 to 12 and then Madara from 12.30 to 3.30? I’m just exhausted. I barely slept last night because I was trying to get through my damn assignment. Honestly I don’t know how you girls are not as stressed out as me..” The pink haired girl let out an exasperated sigh sipping the hot coco.
“I saw your lights on last night, at like...5am? Are you overworking already? Babe I’m really worried about you. You were alright before uni started.”
“I guess yeah I was...I don’t really know Ino it’s just...I don’t know why I’m like this.”
“Have you talked to your therapist yet?” worried features dawned on Ino’s face.
Their usual chatter bounced off each other and was filled with gossip and laughter. But silence ensued between the two friends.
“I haven’t…”
“When was the last time?”
“I...a while ago. I just, I don’t know if I trust her anymore she’s not very helpful. She validates my feelings but I don’t feel like she’s really wanting to help me figure it out.”
Ino looked at her best friend. Ino’s grown up with Sakura ever since they were little, and she’s seen how bad things can get for her best friend. She’s seen Sakura go through some really hard times, and she knows Sakura had found therapy really tough.
“I don’t want to push you Sakura…just let me know when you’re comfortable, if you’ve started to talk to a new therapist or…” Sakura knew what was coming, closed her eyes, and sucked in a breath. “The student welfare office is actually really good.”
Sakura opened her eyes and looked down at the hot coco. “I know...I’ve been wanting to contact them for a while now…”
“I’ll come with you. And the other girls would love to come and support you as well, you know we got your back babe.” Ino’s hands touched Sakura’s on the table, reassuring her. “We just want the best for you.”
Hearing such supportive words was not uncommon, but it didn’t feel normal for Sakura. It was hard to accept the support, the love and belief that Sakura could get better. Her jaw was tight and there was a very uncomfortable feeling sitting in her stomach.
They just want the best for you...you know they do. They’ve always been there for you and...they won’t leave. Come on Sakura you know they won’t. Sakura looked at the girl in front of her. They...want the best for me. And believing that is okay...because..I deserve support.
“I’ll email student welfare...tonight?” Sakura said, each word coming out slowly as she was unsure of this promise. Her breath was stuck in her throat, like she was being choked as she continued to ponder on the thought of her friends supporting her. She knew this was a trauma response.
“And we’ll be there. Or just me if you want okay?” Ino smiled with concerned eyes. “You deserve support, and you deserve good things.”
A tear ran down Sakura’s cheek.
She deserved good things.
“Ah, speaking of good things, your ice cream!”
--
Shit it’s almost 5pm!
Sakura jogged her way to the student union past the small garden of flowers on campus.
Student Union, alright. And 10 minutes to spare!
Small hands pushed the door open to reveal at least 20 other students all chit chatting and lounging in chairs. It was still bright outside, but the union was buzzing like it was 3pm in the afternoon. Sakura looked around, hoping to spot someone she’d recognise.
Are all of these volunteers from my year? I don’t even recognise any of these faces. she huffed as she found an empty seat by the edge of a table that seemed unoccupied. Okay Sakura breathe, nothing to be afraid of. Just talk, be happy, it’s fine, you won’t even see these people again after this week.
“Oh hey, sorry but are these seats taken?” a honeyed voice parroted.
“Ah, no not at all!” Sakura nervously smiled and gestured for the boy and his friends to sit. The boy smiled. He had odd hair, as in, it looked mismatched. brown hair and white highlights? And Sakura thought her pink hair stood out.
“I’m Itama by the way. And this is Shisui and Itachi.” Sakura blinked at them. She knew those names.
“Oh! You’re Sasuke’s brother aren’t you?” Sakura said, a bit loudly and excitedly. “I’m Sa-” she stopped herself. “I’m a friend of Sasuke’s.”
Itachi, the tallest one amongst the three and definitely the oldest looking, smiled in amusement.
“OH what! You know Sasuke?” The Itama boy chirped.
“I think I have seen you around before..” Itachi thought. “No, I’ve definitely seen you around.” his words weren’t hostile, but Itachi was definitely trying to piece it together in his head.
“Are you on the medical degree?” the one with curly hair, Shisui she noted, asked.
“Yeah, I’m a second year.” She found it quite easy to continue this conversation, though unexpected. It wasn’t making her as anxious as she usually would feel in these scenarios. She’s also quite good at hiding though.
“Ah, Madara is our uncle, he asked us to help out with this whole schbang of a taster session.” Shisui rolled his eyes. “But Itama-”
“I’m in my third year doing medicine. Nice to meet you, I definitely recognise you with the pink hair in the medicine building.” Itama mused, ignoring Shisui’s pointed look. Itachi just chuckled.
“Nice to meet you guys. I won't lie, I was a little nervous sitting all alone.” she sighed.
“Awh, well I promise Itachi, Itama and I aren’t nasty-”
“I think I might even recognise you from a night out?”
Sakura choked.

Hell Bound
A/N This was supposed to be a one shot centered around an OTME game and somehow it will be two parts...enjoy!
"I don't know Mina, this seems like a BAAAAD idea." Kirishima whispers as he peers into the living room. Mina smiles devilishly as her black and golden eyes stare at her next prank victim.
Scratch that, make it *victims*
"I think it's a marvelous idea. We will never have an opportunity like this again." She smiles at her boyfriend, shaking the magical item in her hand.
He eyes the high grade quirk resistant hand cuffs before his eyes fall back to the living room.
There you lie, wrist begging to be adorned with them and on the couch beside you lies another beast with ash blonde locks.
Somehow the two of you managed to be in the same room without killing one another.
And somefuckinghow the two of you fell asleep on the couches in the common room watching TV.
Kirishima gulps as he watches Mina step with sly feet across the living room, he holds his breath as she creeps closer.
She too holds her breath, peering down at the two power houses of 1A.
She swallows her hesitation whole, simultaneously clamping the antiquirk cuffs onto each of you.
Two sets of eyes flash open, anger burns quick as they reach for bubblegum pink.
Bakugou reaches out with his right hand, calling on the familiar rush of his quirk.
But the satisfying pops do not come.
"What the fuck?!" You hiss in unison. Bakugou glares down at his palms willing anything to happen as you stand flicking your wrist towards both of them.
When neither move your sharp gaze falls to Mina, before flickering to Bakugou who stares at now not so deadly palms.
"What is this?" A snarl so dark that Mina swallows.
She seems to choke
"Just a prank, Y/N-chan." Your eyes follow hers to the cuffs. She had done this a few times before.
You pull on your memories but you cannot recall if they had always been antiquirk cuffs.
These were cuffs you have yet to be able to pick.
Not to mention they could take a toll on your both physically and mentally.
Scarlet eyes stare down at wide palms.
"So what? We're chained together just for tonight? Like you did the others." You lift your left hand pulling Bakugou's with it. He registers the movement but it has yet to wake him up from whatever trance he's put himself in.
"Yes I have the key right..." Panic sets in quickly on her face as she pats her body before horror takes its place.
"Where is the key Mina?" You ask calmly although you feel far from.
Kirishima now enters the room, eyes laced with worry.
Realization washes over those black eyes and you close yours to breath out heavily.
"It....it may be...." She twists the front of her shirt as you how hold eye contact.
Face still showing picture perfect calm.
"It may be?" You prompt, fear builds up in Mina and Kirishima's stomach.
Their bodies begging them to move but they ignore the weight of the tension to face the cause.
"I may have left it in my desk at school." She says before rushing her next sentence out, "BUT we can get it Monday."
"Can we get it Monday Mina?" You ask after pushing air through your nose.
You could really use your quirk right now.
Or hell some backup from your new fucking friend. A tremor works through your thick frame as once again realization washes over pink features.
"Oh shit." Kirishima says gripping onto his girlfriend "We're on break remember?"
"Oh...oh no oh no."
"That's right so now we are chained together for a week." You brandish your newest accessory again, "And what am I wearing Mina?"
"Training clothes...."
"Yes so the question is.." Your calm still in your voice but not for long, "How the FUCK am I going to shower?"
She blanches but you push on, spiraling into a tangent.
"This is a whole fucking week we are talking about here. What are we supposed to do? Shower together? How will we change? Like? Am I going to have to cut all of my fucking clothes to get them off and on or will they stay on the small chain between us? I mean shit can you give a little more slack so I can at least be in a stall by my fucking self? What happens when I have to shit?!" You gasp as more comes to you, "WHAT IF I WERE ON MY PERIOD? AND WHO DO YOU CHAIN ME TO?"
"FUCKING BAKUGOU OF ALL THE FUCKING PEOPLE IN THE HOUSE?" You huff and puff finally pulling Bakugou's attention from his unanswering palms, "I would have rather been cuffed to that pervert *Minita* than *Bakugou*"
The pair shrink back from the venom in your voice as scarlet eyes rove over you.
"Why did you bring any of that up?"
"Now you speak? And it's TRUE. What happens when you have to shit or shower. Oh God are we stuck in our rank ass training clothes? That's it. I'm fasting for the week and Fuck you Mina I'm not speaking to you." You look away, ready to forget your once good friends existence, "I'm ignoring you too, Eji."
You glare at Bakugou, dreading your whole existence.
"And you. " You stare off into space, thinking of the next week, "That's it. I'm going to have to kill myself."
Bakugou roughly yanks his arm to himself, causing you to stumble.
"I can't pull around a corpse for a week that would look bad for my image." Katsuki growls as you roll your eyes.
"Sure , King of Explodo-kills. It would just be detrimental wouldn't it?" You snarl close to his face, already over his being tethered to you. You feel around for those two sweet buttons on the full bracelet cuff, pressing them at the right time for two soft clicks. One to showcase that you have some luck as the key hole appears on your half of the cuffs and two the chain extends with a yank of your left wrist.
But not enough for him to be out of arms reach.
Yes at this point ending it was the answer.
Could one die from mortification and embarrassment?
Now you were sure the answer was yes.
"I..." You feel yourself cracking fast, it had been a rough few days and the closeness of the holiday didnt help, "I need a minute."
You proceed to drag Bakugou to the nearest bathroom, he watches with harsh eyes as you rush to the sink. Cranking the hot water as high as it will go before splashing your face.
But he can still see what you are trying to desperately to hide.
One falls from your eyes and he turns away, allowing you to jar his dominate hand around.
"So you'd really rather be chained to grape soda?" He asks after a long silence. When you don't answer he sucks his teeth, pushing away from the sink.
Forgetting that he is pulling you with him.
"Where are we going?" You wipe at your face angrily as you are pulled by the sleek black bracelet cuff and the daunting black chains.
The cuff goes from your wrist to mid forearm already bringing back memories of a time when you were not so heroic. When you often found yourself bound in something similar.
Katsuki's rough voice plunges you back into the present.
"To get some shit to change into."
"We are sleeping in my room and you're sleeping on the floor!" You blurt out and he stops, causing you to slam into his back. You feel his muscles tick beneath your cheek and for a moment your body compels you to stay pressed against his black shirt saturated in that sugary smell.
"Did I fucking ask you that?" He snarls darkly, earning him a harsh shove that only brings you with him.
"Fine we can carry my stupid ass bed to your room."
"We cannot. There isnt enough fucking chain Bakugou. We will have to ask for help." He turns to you quickly, hand reaching out. You can see popping mentally but that is it.
Bakugou stares at his fist before a tremor runs through his body.
"Yea a real help they'll be huh?" He hisses shaking his arm and yours. You bite your lip as the words tumble from his mouth, "We'll just have to share a fucking room."
You feel the absence of his popping along with your own quirk.
You wonder if you can pick the locks on the doors at school but after all the attacks on UA you had a better chance of picking the lock on the cuffs.
You briefly wonder if Todoroki could freeze the gaudy bracelets but remember that these are police grade.
Thankfully Mina did not get her hands on Military or Solitary confinement cuffs. Otherwise the two of you would be leaded down with the weight of your oppressed quirk.
Bakugou pulls you into his room and practically drags you around as he grabs a few outfits, he is going to have to ruin majority of those shirts.
Or go shirtless.
The last idea has your cheeks burning as you recall his hardened abs from the swimming training before you shake away the idea.
"Grab shirts you don't like as much. We need to stop by Momos door."
"What the fuck for?" He snarls, shoving his charger into a small backpack. You quickly learn that Bakugou owns a lot of black skull t shirts. Maybe it won't matter if they get altered or entirely fucked.
"I may have a solution to saving some of our shirts ass hat."
The two of you stop by Momo's door. You ask for a sewing kit and small buttons after begging her to make a skeleton key.
She hands you the small kit with sad eyes, she says she hasn't done enough research about the lock's mechanisms to be able to do such a thing.
You sigh asking for a file and a lot of bobby pins instead.
Now you two, the unlucky pair, stare at the showers. Wondering if the two of you could live with out.
"I...I'll go first." You cheeks burn with nerves and embarrassment but Momma didn't raise no bitch, "Just keep your fucking back turned!"
Bakugou's cheeks flush as he keeps his back to you, the hue deepens when he hears the tear of your shirt.
He watches other items fall near his feet before averting his eyes, standing just barely out of the scalding stream.
You are kind, using only one hand to wash up as you frantically shift your eyes from your task at hand and the blonde beside you.
How did you get so unlucky?
You swallow thickly, new years was in a few days, was this a preview to your upcoming year?
Would your luck ever change?
The only plus side was you weren't going to have to spend new years alone this time.
But at what cost?
Impatience ripples off of Bakugou in waves as he rips off his shirt with one hand. You watch his back twitch with movement before you look away quickly.
You rush to finish, struggling to wrap a towel around yourself one handed.
"Would you hurry up?" He asks impatiently, going to cross his arms. Accidentally forcing you into his now bare back.
You both go rigid, your breasts pressed into his back has your heart rate soaring.
His as well although he hopes you cannot tell.
"Bakugou." You say with that false calm before your nails bite into his biceps, "Never fucking do that again kay?"
It comes out a mixture of cutesy and venomous at the same time, a flutter ruffles through your stomach. And surprisingly his.
You wrap yourself successfully this time and you turn away.
"I'll need both hands by the way." Is all you say as he grunts, turning down the hot water.
"What are you a demon? Shit was all the way up." He murmurs.
"Hmmm." Is your only response as you flip your shirt inside out, cutting your left sleeve all the way to the collar before sewing in two buttons.
"Perfect!" You exclaim looking over your work.
You drop your towel with out warning as Bakugou goes to face you to complain how he needs his arms.
When he sees that your back is bare he does not let his eyes linger past the dimples on your lower back.
His heart thumps against his tender chest, he clutches it as his cheeks darken.
"You gotta warn someone when you're doing that!" He erupts to which you snarl back.
"Stop trying to peek!"
"Peek?! I'm not trying to go fucking blind."
Ouch. You send a nasty glare his way, burning holes into his back before slipping on your shirt and buttoning the sleeve shut. It is barely noticeable and you could technically keep using this shirt.
"I should make you walk around half naked." You hiss, grabbing up his shirt staring to cut, half imagining it was him you could slice into.
Or at the very least repel him as far as you could push him.
The cuff somehow feels heavier with the thought of using your gift.
You are so engrossed in both thought and work that you do not realize he is hovering over you.
"How did you?" You look up to see his waist wrapped in a towel, abs glittering with droplets, borad shoulders reddened from hot water. You find yourself staring as you look to his face, his normally spiked hair lies flat, some sticking to his forehead as droplets fall delicately to the tile. He pushes his hair back with his left arm and all you can see are his muscles. Scarlet eyes narrow harshly on you.
"I..I know what I'm doing idiot." You stammer before passing him his shirt, suddenly finding the grout in the tile interesting, "Get fucking dressed."
This was going to be a long fucking week.
You unlock your room, flipping on the switch for the string lights and your salt lamp. Yawning with a stretch as you make your way to your bed.
Dragging Bakugou over piles of clothes, books, and homework.
"It looks like a bomb went off in here."
"You would know huh?" You half tease before flopping on your, thankfully, queen sized bed. The movement causes the ash blonde to slightly slump forward. He glares your way before struggling to plug in his charger.
"Do you sleep with all of these fucking lights on?"
"Hell no." You hiss back before clapping your hands plunging the two of you into darkness.
Bakugou's phone illuminates the room as he glares.
"Real smart. How am I supposed to get into your huge ass bed without bothering you dip shit?" You yank at the cuff pulling him down, his shins slam into the frame. In the low light you see his heated glare. You inch away from him and turn on your side. Forcing him to have to lie on his back.
"Fuck." He hisses out before staring at your ceiling as if it will help lull him to sleep.
All it does is leave more questions in his head as he glances at you.
You who has some how started to snore softly.
The day repeats itself, once twice, three times, as awkwardly as ever. While the two of you attempt to work in tandem.
Although several dishes and items are destroyed in the process.
Denki gets punched in the mouth for teasing too much.
You notice Bakugou's short fuse, although it is normally very short his patience is now paper thin.
You can see the toll the cuffs are taking on his body, his skin is dulled, eyes darkened and every now and again you'll catch him staring.
Glaring at his hands and you can almost feel his thoughts.
*"I'm quirkless now. Useless now."*
At first you thought it served him right after what you heard he did to Izuku but watching the ash blonde now felt as if someone had reached into your chest, wrapping greedy fingers around your tender heart.
And they wouldn't fucking let go.
The TV and voices of the rest of 1A drone on in the background as you watch Bakugou change before your eyes.
It was a haunting feeling, something you knew you had to fix, no matter the cost.
💣💣💣
Again Katsuki finds himself staring at your ceiling debating how best to kill Mina and Kirishima for their cruel trick, falling to sleep at the thought.
He dreams of his quirk igniting, he longs for the feeling.
So much so that the acrid smell of burnt flesh wafts his nose, stirring him from his dream.
A whimper cuts out in the dark, shooting him up right in bed. His quirk does not answer to his call and he growls in frustration.
It takes a moment for his eyes to adjust to the low light before he spies you sitting upright, tools jutting out from the key hole.
First he notices your burned skin from beneath the cuff before he notices the tears threatening to fall down your cheeks.
"Oi, what the fuck are you doing?" He snarls, cradling your hurt wrist with his left. He turns it this way and that before you halfheartedly swat at him.
"I'm just trying to get us free..."There it is, that false calm you so desperately cling to when he knows you really just want to scream.
Or in this case cry.
"At what fucking cost? Permanent skin damage?"
"I'm almost there. That's why it..." It was a burn worse than Todoroki could produce, causing Bakugou's voice to dip low.
"Fucking. Stop."
Something about the sight of your smooth skin bubbling up in malformed circles had his stomach twisting. He squeezes your arm for emphasis before he pulls the tools out with earnest hands.
He pretends he doesn't see the tears now falling as you say into the dark.
"Just so close to being free, Bakugou." He turns back to you, eyes boring into yours with unspoken intensity before he half shoves you to the mattress.
"Only a few more days." He snarls before lying uncomfortably on his back.
This time he does not fall asleep.
In the morning he drags you out of bed, half debating on calling recovery girl before he takes it upon himself to clean and dress your wound.
"Ow fucker." You snarl as he spreads ointment onto your seething burn.
"Wouldn't hurt if you didn't fuck around with this dumbass thing." He snaps back, causing you to quiet. Deft hands make quick work of your bandages.
He drags you to the kitchen with plans to force you to eat.
You hadn't eaten since Saturday and it was now Wednesday, three days was too long for anybody. He saw the hunger and exhaustion pulling at your harsh yet stunning features.
He lifts you up easily and placing you on the counter beside the stove as you fuss.
"Everyday it's the same thing." You hiss more annoyed with life than him, "Eggs, bacon and rice for you."
"I gotta eat dumb ass. Just as you do." He retorts as you watch him begin to cook something out of his norm.
You watch as he makes batter for chocolate pancakes, your mouth salivates as he pours the batter onto a hot griddle.
He remembers that you loved chocolate pancakes, he also remembers you liked them in the shape of animals.
He chose a cat with two chocolate chip eyes and nose before presenting it to you.
"I'm....I'm not hungry." You falter but your stomach gives you away with a large audible growl.
"Not hungry huh?" He says giving you the plate he both makes more and his own breakfast.
A bright red headed male enters the kitchen, following the scent of breakfast. His eyes widen at the sight.
"Cat pancakes! I'd love some Katsuki-kun!" He beams only to earn to harsh glares.
Bakugou explodes, brandishing his spatula, yet mindful to not jar you.
"I oughta make a pancake outta you and fry up your stupid ass face!" By the time his rant is over he is huffing.
As if he's run a mile, you press cool fingers to his shoulders, he glares at you turning his ire on you.
"And you. You need to fucking eat to live okay?! Enough of this dramatic bullshit everyone shits, you don't need to go hungry to spare me or your fucking self." Again he is breathless and you fear the worst, fingers now squeezing into his shoulders.
"Bakugou... you have to stop trying to use your quirk. I know its flared by your temper but I..." It's a hard sentence for you to finish.
You'd seen forst hand what people's quirks did to them when/if it all came rushing back, in prison they had a name for it.
Blowback could be deadly.
"There could be blowback, your quirk can come back tenfold with every time you try to use it while oppressed. It attempts to adapt around the cuffs and when they are removed your body still thinks there will be a block. By the end of this week I fear you'll be charged enough to be a fucking nuclear bomb. I...." You can't finish but he sees what you can't say.
You don't want that although he does not know if you mean it because he will be right next to you or if you do not want to see him hurt.
He grips the spatula until his knuckles turn stark white as he reluctantly finishes breakfast.
"Call all those assholes for breakfast." He hisses and Kirishima listens.
Everyone sits down at the table sure to leave two seats beside one another for you two.
An ugly reminder but how many more days did you have?
"Y/N?" Mina's voice claws at your thoughts, your eyes find her with a cool glare, "I know you're still mad but I still do really want to take you to the shrine. I know you've never been and I promised I'd take you."
"You've never been?" Others pipe in and you don't have the heart to tell them how many new years you spent in solitary confinement.
Instead you just nod in agreement.
"Oh you have to go now!" U-san pipes up and you try hard not to snarl her way, "You need to make a wish and pray for a good year!"
"How should I do that with these?" There is a slight edge to your voice as you raise your hand, bringing another with it.
Bakugou snatches the chopsticks from his right hand and attempts to use his left and mostly fails. Frustration begins to grow in the pit of his stomach.
"Wear long sleeves and hold hands. Act like a couple. Lots of couples go!" Mina sing songs as if its the perfect solution.
You glare her way, cutting her with your eyes before you can use your tongue.
Or a real knife whichever comes first.
Chopsticks beside you break in half before a heavy sigh escapes his mouth.
"We can go. Just make button sleeves I'll wear a baggie shirt so we can hide the chain."
"Bakugou we don't have to go. It's not like I des...." He cuts you off before you can finish.
Hating when you doubt or deny yourself something.
And for what? Some past you keep hidden away with the rest of your emotions.
"When do we leave Mina?"
You stare at him with a confused gaze even as he rises, pulling you with him to his room once more.
The longer you were tethered to Katsuki the more you wondered how much you really knew about him.

Good Things Come to Those Who Talk
It’s been a long time since I’ve written, but the muse visited this week, so here is a fluffy and smutty Captain Swan one shot. I’m sure this trope has been written one millions ways, here is one million and one. Hope you like it. Although I am not around as much as I used to be, CS still remains my OTP and always will.

Summary: Emma Swan is so over her brother, he warns every cop he knows to stay away from her. She's pined for so long though, she wants Killian Jones, it's just double bad luck that he's a cop and he happens to be David's partner. She decides her brother's wrath is worth the risk to find out if there's something more for her and Killian. Now all she needs is a new dress and a plan.
“Emma Swan, you little slut! What has gotten into you?” Ruby screeched as Emma pulled the door to her home open.
“Is it too much?” Emma asked with just a touch of hysteria coloring her voice. She hurried back to her bedroom to give herself the once over… again. Running her hands down the newly purchased, skin tight, black mini dress, she followed each and every curve that was on full display.
“Girl, I would do you if I didn’t already have a girlfriend.”
“Not helping, Ruby!”
“Emma, you look fucking hot, there is not a man on earth that could turn you down in that.”
“That’s what I’m hoping for,” she mumbled under her breath. Tonight was the night. She’d danced around the longing and heat between her and Killian Jones for long enough. She’d been pining for this man for longer than she could remember, half the time they spent together felt like they were a couple anyway. She already knew her stupid brother, David, had warned Killian Jones to stay away from her, but there was nothing stopping her from putting the moves on Killian Jones. She just hoped Ruby was right, that no man would be able to resist her, including the one who’d been threatened with death if he so much as laid one finger on her. Emma was undeniably hoping for far more than one finger. A shiver jolted through her and she was brought back to the present.
“Someone’s got it baaaad,” Ruby teased. “You gonna make your move tonight?”
“That’s the plan,” Emma said as she grabbed her knee length black leather jacket and tied it closed. She pulled her flowing, golden tresses from the jacket and tossed them over her shoulders.
“Well then let’s get this party started!” With that, Ruby grabbed Emma’s hand and pulled her back to the front of the house and out the door.
The Rabbit Hole was their favorite local pub, and the only place to celebrate the hot shot detectives who’d made the biggest bust this city had ever seen. Of course it was the hot shot team of Detectives Nolan and Jones to bring down the infamous Robert “The Deal Maker” Gold and his outfit of miscreants. Earlier this morning, both men had received the Medal of Valor, for extraordinary acts of bravery and heroism, performed in the line of duty at extreme life-threatening, personal risk, their Captain had said.
Emma remembered that day three weeks ago, when she’d received the call from her sister-in-law. The baby had been wailing in the background as Mary Margaret had tried to tell Emma, through choked sobs that David was in the hospital. No doubt the little guy had been so upset because his mama was having a justified meltdown.
When Emma had arrived, Killian was in the waiting room, a little bloodied, bruised, and banged up, but he’d insisted on waiting for her before letting the doctors examine him. He’d wanted to let her know that David was in surgery, but he’d be okay, and Mary Margaret had just left to drop her two year old off at Belle’s so he didn’t have to wait in the ER. It wasn’t until Killian’s body had slumped against hers that Emma realized he wasn’t doing as well as he’d pretended. She’d found out later, Killian had been hit by Gold’s car as the fiend had tried to make a run for it.
Emma doesn’t like to think about the panic she’d felt as he was hauled behind the swinging doors of the ER. She doesn’t like to remember the tears that had fallen when the thought that she’d never gotten to tell him how she felt for him, crossed her mind. She especially doesn’t like to think about how he’d been out of the hospital for three weeks now, and she’d still been too chicken shit to even ask him out on a date, let alone tell him that she’s crazy about him.
Once Killian’s internal bleeding had stopped and he was cleared to go home, she’d helped him convalesce through a dislocated shoulder and severely bruised ribs. He’d gotten remarkably lucky considering he was hit by a car. Hours of flirting and bantering, movies on his couch, meals together, and she hadn’t scraped together the courage to tell him how she felt. She’d picked him up and attended the medal pinning with him today, and still she couldn’t find any words to tell him how she felt. When he’d come down off the stage, walked toward her and scooped her up into a bear hug, all she’d come up with was how proud she was of him. Even though it was true, there was so much more she wanted to say. And she’d known long before any of this had happened, she’d just never considered moving past her fear of rejection or risking their friendship for a chance at something more until she’d felt like she might lose him.
That thought made her feel pretty shitty. But that’s when she’d decided a few things. Emma Swan was shit with words. Actions speak louder than words. Tonight was the night. And she needed a new dress.
Taking a deep breath as the car pulled into the parking lot, to center her thoughts, fortify her determination, and get her collective shit together, Emma stepped out of Ruby’s car with something akin to hope.
Upon entering the noisy bar, she searched for the woman who’d be lending her an assist tonight. Regina and her husband Robin, a retired police officer, now owned this bar. They were close personal friends with Emma’s brother’s family, as David’s former partner, and by extension, with the whole group. Regina would be the one taking care of their party tonight. Emma needed to square some drinking details away with the woman and then she’d be mission ready. After talking to Regina, she glanced around the crowded bar, searching for the man of the hour. Whatever confidence or hope had been building, promptly deflated as she located Killian, only to find him sitting at the bar with some handsy redhead whispering in his ear.
“Emma!” She heard Mary Margaret’s voice call out from across the bar, but she couldn’t turn, she was transfixed, watching as the woman ran a finger along Killian’s jawline. It gave her just an ounce of pleasure when he removed her hand from his vicinity and placed it on the bar. The mystery woman was undeterred though as she placed her hand on his chest next.
Mary Margaret called her name again, louder this time, and Emma noticed it caught Killian’s attention as he began to scan the bar. When his eyes met hers, they immediately lit up and he mouthed the word help, with desperation in his every feature. Emma’s confidence restored, she sashayed toward him with renewed determination.
Goddamn, she thought as she appreciated how Killian’s royal blue button down shirt and black slacks were tailored to his body. She bit down on her lip when she noted that he definitely had his customary one too many buttons undone and was displaying that magically delicious thatch of chest hair she’d imagined running her hands through just a couple times. Sauntering right in between the two, she settled in the spot of his perpetually manspread legs and placed her palms on his thighs, leaving her back to the other woman.
“Hey Sexy, where’ve you been all my life?” she asked in the sexiest tone she could muster while also trying not to crack up as she laid it on thick for the woman trying to steal her man. What?
“Right here, waiting for you, love,” Killian answered, wrapping an arm around her waist. The man didn’t miss a beat.
Emma couldn’t be bothered to feel bad as she rubbed her palms over his muscular thighs which currently rested on her hips. She had a mission tonight, and this floozy behind her had been throwing herself at Killian.
“I’m so lucky someone didn’t come and scoop you up before I got here.”
Emma almost melted when he came right back with, “No one else is you.”
She knew this man, had known him for several years. She knew when he was playing a long con, when he was bullshitting, when he was joking, when he was serious, and when he was sincere. Her heartbeat stuttered as his earnest expression dared her to believe him. Just at that moment, the drinks Killian had ordered arrived. “Come on,” she said, grabbing the three beer bottles in one hand and taking his hand in her other.
“Let me order a couple more, now that the rest of you are here.”
Emma leaned in to whisper in his ear, “And leave you at the mercy of Hands, I don’t think so.” If she wasn’t mistaken, Killian actually shivered, and she wondered how bad it had gotten before she’d arrived. When she stepped back though, she noticed a bright flush along Killian’s cheeks, and she wondered if she wasn’t causing that shiver and blush. “I’ll order when the server comes around.”
Emma was positively rippling with anticipation of what Killian would think of her dress as they walked over to the private room Mary Margaret had reserved for tonight. The bar had several private rooms off each corner of the bar, they were a little less noisy, and perfect for celebratory drinks. This one had a large round booth and table in it, so Emma slid in next to her brother, pulling Killian in behind her. Strategically speaking, she was hoping David couldn’t stare daggers at Killian from this angle, like he always did when Emma and Killian were hanging out and getting too close for his comfort. She didn’t need her stupid brother ruining her plans.
“Here love, you can have this beer,” Killian offered as they sat down.
“That’s okay, I can wait for the server.” Emma was not in the mood to get drunk, at least not drunk for real. “Are Will and Belle still coming tonight?” Emma asked as she untied her jacket and leaned forward to take it off while still seated in the confines of the booth.
Killian audibly choked on the swig of beer he’d been taking when he caught a glimpse of all the skin Emma was now showing. One false move and there could be a nip slip, really.
“Hey, Jones, you okay there buddy? Emma, quick, give him mouth to mouth, he’s choking,” she harassed.
Emma shot her a look before slapping Killian on the back a couple times. “My ribs,” he croaked once he’d finished hacking and coughing.
Emma preened as she noticed he still hadn’t taken his eyes off her. “You gonna be okay?” she asked, turning fully toward Killian as she soothingly rubbed her hand along his rib cage.
“Love your new dress, Ems,” Ruby exclaimed, adding fuel to multiple fires.
“New dress? Are you sure you got the whole thing?” David fumed. “Looks more like a tank top to me. And yes, to answer your question from before, Will and Belle are coming, their Lyft was running late.”
Emma looked over her shoulder to scowl at her brother, and he scowled right back. “I happen to like this dress, David,” she said, saying his name as pettily as any sister could, “what about you Killian. Do you like my new dress?”
Killian’s hand immediately shot up to scratch behind his ear, but before he could even speak a word, David leaned forward, peered around Emma and stared those oh so familiar daggers at Killian.
“Oh stop it, David,” Mary Margaret chided her husband.
“Oi mates, hope you didn’t start the party without me,” Will shouted as he and Belle entered the room. He and Belle scooted into the booth next to Ruby and Mulan, and Emma was thankful they’d arrived before David could start ranting about not wanting his sister to date a cop.
Emma, Mary Margaret, Belle, and Ruby had all been promised a play by play of the Gold bust now that the case was finalized, Gold had been sentenced, and everyone was healed. Will and Mulan hadn’t been injured, but they’d been part of the task force, and instrumental in the take down. Emma tried not to concentrate too hard on the fact that she was the only female here who wasn’t technically a significant other. Besides, maybe that would change after tonight.
A round of shots was ordered to start the evening and Regina brought them to the table, handing a shot of rum to each guest. They toasted to the takedown of the felon who had run rampant like a virus, for far too long. The story was intense to be sure, and a second round of shots was ordered to toast the health and safety of David, Killian, Mulan, and Will.
When the live band started, they headed for the dance floor and Emma was thankful to have a bit of privacy, albeit in the middle of a crowded dance floor, with Killian. “You cut quite the figure in that dress,” he whispered into her ear.
The band was covering a latin number and Emma melted as Killian pulled her in close. His left hand was on the small of her back and the other held her free hand. Her free hand rested on his chest, right at the juncture of his too unbuttoned shirt.
“I don’t know exactly how to do this… dance,” Emma mumbled as Killian began to move his feet. They were connected at their hips as they swayed with the beat.
“It’s called a mambo; there’s only one rule, pick a partner who knows what he’s doing.”
She’d danced with him before and it never ceased to amaze her how well the man could move his body. If he was this fluid and skilled while dancing, what could he do in bed?
“I can see your mind working, Swan. What are you thinking about?”
Emma tried to stop the blush, but she’d definitely been caught ogling him. “Wouldn’t you like to know.”
“Perhaps I would,” he admitted while sweeping a lock of her hair behind her ear. “You are blushing,” he added as he trailed the finger down her cheek.
“I was just thinking, if you’re this good on the-” Emma’s breath was knocked from her as David and Mary Margaret careened into them.
“Hey guys,” David shouted over the music, “time for shots.”
Emma just barely stopped herself from yelling at her brother to stop being a cockblock. Instead, she settled for stomping on his foot as she led Killian off the dancefloor. They all lined up at the bar and Regina doled out more shots.
“I’m ready to go home,” Emma slurred into Killian’s shoulder several hours later. “Take me home?”
“Aye, love.”
“I thought Ruby was your ride,” David interrupted.
“No can do, Davey,” Ruby mumbled. “Me and my baby are staying at the hotel across the street so we don’t have to drive and we don’t have to come back for the car tomorrow.
“We will take you home,” David proclaimed, as if someone had died and made him king.
“That’s ridiculous, we’re already taking Belle and Will home,” Mary Margaret told her husband. “Killian hasn’t been drinking for the last two hours, he can take Emma home.”
“Bu-” David started.
“I know we have five seats, but we don’t need to squish five adults into them, when Killian can give Emma a ride.”
Emma snickered at the way Mary Margaret effortlessly handled David.
“That’s what I’m worried about,” David muttered.
After the group said their goodbyes, Emma let Killian lead her to his truck. She pretended to need much more help getting in than she really did. Under the guise of being drunk, Emma found she was much braver. If he turned her down, she could always pretend she was so drunk she didn’t remember, and if he was a gentleman, which he was, he’d never mention it.
Reaching across the space between them, Emma brushed the hair away from his forehead. “I was so worried about you when you were in the hospital,” she whispered, making sure to slur a word here and there.
“I’m sorry I worried you, lass, but you needn’t worry about me.”
“I do worry about you, Killian. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
“Well, in your inebriated state, I’m sure it’s hard to imagine, but I am sure you’d manage.”
“What a horrible thing to say! I would not be okay if I lost you, I would never be okay.”
Killian clasped his hand over hers, which had been idly stroking his cheek. “Shhh, love, there’s no need to discuss this topic anyway. If there is one thing I am good at, it’s surviving.”
Killian pulled into her driveway and hastily exited to help her down from the truck. She definitely put more weight on him than was strictly necessary and sloppily handed him the keys to unlock her door.
“Someone is going to be feeling like shite in the morning,” Killian laughed.
Emma played it up, and allowed Killian to get Tylenol and water for her as she stripped out of her dress and hopped into her bed.
“Call me if you need anything, yeah?” he checked as he set her hangover supplies on her nightstand.
Emma caught his hand as he went to put it in his pocket. “Stay with me?”
“I shouldn’t.”
“Please,” Emma asked sweetly, looking up at him with all the hope she felt inside written clearly on her face.
Killian exhaled a long sigh as only a man who knows he’s lost can. Circling around the bed, he started to climb in behind her.
“You’re not going to sleep in jeans, are you?”
“I don’t exactly have sleepwear at my disposal, Swan. And you’re sleeping in your dress.”
Emma laughed at that, that’s what he thinks. “Take off your jeans, boxer briefs are just like shorts.” She grinned triumphantly as she heard the metal of his belt and the rustling of pants being dropped.
Once he was settled in her bed, she turned over and snuggled against him. The groan he emitted when she did so shot a bolt of heat straight to her core. She knew he was just as affected as she was, and that was hot.
“Emma, please, you’re making it very hard fo-”
“That’s kinda the point,” she giggled, pressing her body against his and snaking her free hand into the opening of his shirt to rake it through his chest hair.
“Fuck me,” he muttered.
“Yeah?”
“Poor choice of words,” he corrected as he scooted away from her advances. “We can’t do this.”
Emma immediately felt the sting of his words in her chest, like someone was gripping her heart, or worse, like someone had taken it and she was hollow. A flurry of emotions ran through her as she tried to assure herself she still had her failsafe of “being drunk”. She searched for words. “Why? Because of my stupid brother?” she demanded, her voice a little more watery than angry.
“This has nothing to do with your brother, Swan.”
“Then… why?” Emma sat up in bed and pulled the blankets tightly around her body, as if they’d protect her from whatever hurtful reason he had for not wanting her.
“Because you’re drunk and-”
“Well-” Emma interrupted.
“No, wait, let me finish. Before I lose my nerve.”
Emma frowned at him, but complied by sitting quietly.
“You’ve been drinking all night love, and I would never forgive myself if I took advantage of you in this state and then you regretted it in the morning, if you regretted me. I… I’m crazy about you Emma, I have been for a long time. I don’t want a drunken one night stand with you, hell, I don’t want any kind of one night stand with you. I want… more.”
“Why didn’t you ever say anything?” she asked softly.
“Short answer? I’m a coward.”
“What if I want to know the extended version?” she asked as she patted the seat next to her and offered him part of the blankets so he could join her.
Killian got back into the bed and sat up against the headboard as Emma was. “I guess I’ve hid behind your brother’s warning to stay away from you. I mean, he’s not wrong, it can be a hard life being with a cop. Look what happened with Gold. I also worried about jeopardizing our friendship, especially if you didn’t feel the same way about me.”
“Why now?”
Killian chuckled before answering her. “You being drunk gives me the courage to say how I feel, because you might not even remember this in the morning.”
Emma dropped all pretense of being inebriated and leaned forward so she was looking straight into the depths of the eyes she dreamed about almost nightly. “Let’s get something straight, okay? I could never regret you, Killian Jones.” Placing a hand softly on his cheek, she smiled at the awestruck look on his face. “And also, I haven’t had a drink all night. I paid Regina to fill my shots with apple juice. I just needed the cover of liquid courage to try and seduce you because I am shit with words. And I figured if you didn’t feel the same, I could always pretend that I didn’t remember the next day.”
Killian’s warm laughter startled her a bit, but then she was laughing with him. “I usually have a flair with words, Swan, you just do something to me that brings me to my basest form. I’m a goner for you, and I wish I’d have told you sooner.”
“Well, get used to me not being great with words. I’m sort of caveman-like. I mean, I’m not gonna point and grunt, but I definitely use action over words. But if I can paraphrase a great wordsmith, ‘I’m crazy about you, Killian, I have been for a long time’.”
The smile that lit up Killian’s face, dimples and all, was worth the hell she was going to go through with David.
“In the spirit of full disclosure, I never got a chance to answer you at the bar. I love your new dress, may I see it again,” he asked, gently tugging at the blankets she’d wrapped around herself for protection a few moments ago.
“Hmmm, sorry, not right now...” Killian immediately dropped his hand from the blanket and began to tell her it’s okay, when she peeled away the blanket, and continued, “because I’m not wearing it anymore.”
“Fuck me,” he murmured before biting down on his lip hungrily.
“Still the plan.”
♡~♥~♡~♥~♡
“Stand up, love, let me see you.”
Emma complied, standing up and bearing herself to him. She was clad in nothing more than lacy, black panties and a matching bra. Watching as he perused every inch of her body, from the swell of her breasts, to her lean torso and soft belly, then down to the apex of her thighs, she could see his length swelling under his boxer briefs, and every part of her wanted him. Crooking her finger, she beckoned him to her, and it was his turn to comply.
Once Killian stood before her, Emma unbuttoned the remainder of his shirt and pushed it off his shoulders, to the floor. Then she did something that shocked her a little bit, she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulled him close and just held him; he immediately reciprocated, both arms encircling her and bringing her close. The feelings they’d just spoken floated around them and flowed between them.
Threading her fingers into his hair, she guided his mouth to hers and kissed him, softly and exploratorily at first. But as lips gave way to caressing tongues, and roaming hands, heat built and Emma found herself panting and breathless.
Killian unclasped her bra and pulled it away and she was never more grateful for that barrier to be gone, as his chest hair delicately tightened her nipples and sent sparks shooting to her core. She wanted more and made it known by grabbing his ass with both hands and hauling him firmly to her. Killian glided his hands down her back and over her firm ass while sucking a nipple into his mouth. She moaned his name at the sensation of his wet mouth laving at her breasts, and his fingers and palms caressing the smooth expanse of her ass. Emma wanted that last barrier gone, she reached between them to remove first her panties and then finally his boxer briefs.
She was not disappointed when she finally got a look at what her Detective was packing. Emma licked her lips as his cock stood at full attention, straining with the need to be touched.
“See something you like, darling?”
There was that hint of cockiness that she loved so much. “Yeah,” she breathed as she dropped to her knees. Wrapping her hand around the base of his cock, Emma stroked up and down a few times, relishing in the hiss that left Killian’s mouth. When his head dropped back, she pounced, taking him deep and swallowing once, before pulling back and then setting a slow rhythmic pace.
Killian lifted her from her knees and attacked her mouth with kisses, between trying to speak, “You don’t have to do that.”
Emma pulled her head back to stare at this man in front of her. What guy turns down head? “I know I don’t have to, I was enjoying myself,” she said, then she pushed into his frame, guiding him backwards until he could sit at the edge of the bed. She dropped to her knees again, and smirked before descending on him once more, but before she could even set a rhythm, he was halting her ministrations again.
“Okay, that’s twice. What’s up, Jones? Do you not enjoy getting head? Do I suck at it, and not in the good way?” Emma sat back on her calves, folding her arms around herself.
“On the contrary, you are magnificent at sucking my cock, Emma.”
She grinned mischievously at the compliment, a swarm of relief flooding her mind. “Then what gives?”
“I haven’t...” Killian trailed off, and an actual blush colored his cheeks as he tried to find the words he was looking for.
Emma put her hands on his knees and gently squeezed. “What is it? You can tell me.”
“I haven’t been with anyone in a while, I’ve kind of been saving myself for this brilliant lass I know. Plus, I’ve been hard since you took your jacket off at the bar and I don’t wish to finish before you,” he admitted. He rubbed nervously behind his ear as he waited for her reaction.
Emma was a little speechless. At no point in her life had she ever been with a man who was so dedicated to her gratification, he would deny his own. She’d definitely never been halted in the middle of a blow job so that her needs could be met. She stood up, taking Killian with her and then turned them around so that she could lie down on the bed. Holding her hand out to him, she pulled him down next to her and then scooted so that they were laying face to face. “Make me come, Killian.”
Needing no further guidance, Killian captured her lips in a fiery kiss while situating her on her back. Their tongues slid together effortlessly until he broke the kiss to blaze a trail down her body. She would definitely have marks, but he was careful to leave them where only they would see. As he paid special attention to her breasts again, delighting way too much in the noises she made, Emma finally caved, begging for more.
Scooting down between her legs, Killian took stock of the pretty picture splayed out for him. “Absolutely gorgeous,” he murmured. Ever so gently, he ran the tip of his finger along her glistening folds, parting them as his finger ran further down, exposing her clit to the cool air.
“Please Killian, touch me.”
“As you wish.”
Emma keened in half relief and half need as his tongue finally made contact with her clit. She thrust her hips, needing nothing short of penetration, and again, she was obviously hoping for more than just one finger. She wasn’t disappointed when Killian filled her with two digits as he worked her clit with his tongue.
Emma fisted a handful of Killian’s dark hair as he brought her a pleasure like none she’d experienced before. It was hot as hell to have him watching her with those devilish blue eyes gazing up from between her thighs as she fucked his fingers.
Emma had never been much of a talker in bed, but she found it easy with Killian to ask for more, to ask for it harder, and because of that, he had her falling over the edge of oblivion quickly.
“Get up here, now,” she panted, once her mind came back from the haze of post orgasmic delight.
“Gods, you taste divine,” he praised as he moved over her body, settling between her legs so they were face to face.
“You are really good at that, better than I could ever have imagined.”
“Oh, Emma,” he began as he sucked her bottom lip into his mouth and bit down gently before letting it go, “do elaborate on ‘imagined’,” he smirked before grinding his hips down so his thick length slid through her folds and over her clit.
A breathy moan rushed past her lips as he teased her. “Yeah? You want to hear all about how I get myself off while thinking of you?”
“Aye, lass, tell me.”
“Mmmmm, sometimes it’s quick and dirty, fucking my fingers, wishing they were yours. Other times I imagine you bend me over your desk at the precinct and take me roughly. But the best is edging while wondering if you’re lying in bed thinking about me, stroking your hard cock. I always finally make myself come, pleading your name as I picture you making yourself come all over your chest, calling out my name.”
“Christ, Emma, I’m going to come all over your chest if you tell me any more.”
In a flash of motion, Emma flipped them so she was on top, staring down at Killian. “We can’t have that.” Leaning down, she kissed him roughly, demanding his tongue, while situating his cock so she could sink down on it. “Oh… fuck you feel so good,” she gasped as his full length hit a depth she’d never felt without toys. Her hands found purchase on his chest as she adjusted to his size.
She let Killian set the pace after he grasped both her hips and guided her along. He was mesmerized by the way his cock slid in and out of her wet heat. “You feel so good wrapped around me,” he praised.
Killian pulled her down for a kiss again, and flipped them so he was on top. Emma whined as he withdrew from her completely and sat back on his haunches. “I’ve just realized I don’t have a condom,” he said defeatedly.
“That’s okay, I’m on the pill and I’m clean. You clean?”
“Aye, lass. On my honor.”
“Then put every inch of that cock back inside me,” she demanded as she pulled him back into the cradle of her thighs.
Emma laughed lightly as Killian groaned loudly while pushing back into her. “Just so you know, love, this feels so much better than any time I’ve ever taken myself in hand while thinking of you. And I always come with your name on my lips.”
Her answering smile turned into a low moan as Killian pulled out and then thrust back home. He changed the tempo, long deep passes, quick pounding thrusts, grinding his hips into her sometimes, and pumping shallowly others. She made sure to let him know what felt good and what felt better, and especially what was, “Oh fuck, yes, right there!”
Despite never having been together before, the combination of Emma knowing what she liked, being comfortable enough to ask for it, and Killian listening to her and taking care of her, had them riding the same wave, feeling, exploring, loving.
In the end, Killian had both her legs pulled up high around his waist, arms under her shoulders, and his face buried in the crook of her neck as he methodically drove into her, determined to make her come again.
Emma had her legs wrapped tightly around his torso, her arms around his neck, and her head thrown back into the pillow. They were a hot sweaty mess, and she was sure she’d never been wound this tight, she’d never been this turned on,maybe there was something to sex with feelings. His hot breath against her neck caused a tightness in her nipples and a tingling in her clit. Killian’s thrusts were punishing, hitting her deep, and she was so close and she knew he was close and she really wanted to come again.
“Touch yourself, Emma, I want to feel you come all over my cock.”
An errant bit of relief flooded her as she realized Killian was not intimidated in asking for what he wanted either and he wasn’t too macho to ask her to help get them there. Now was not the time for reflection though, and so she pushed those delightful thoughts to an area for later. Reaching down between them, Emma gathered the arousal that coated her thighs and started rubbing her fingers over her clit. “Almost, Killian, almo- Oh, Ooooh,” Emma cried.
It was almost ridiculous how in sync they were, each gracing the edge of ecstasy before plummeting off one after the other, calling the other’s name like a benediction. She’d been right, his moves on the dance floor had definitely foreshadowed his performance in bed. And just like the attentive gentleman he was day-to-day, he was the same in bed, making sure to guide her through every aftershock, and hold her as she came down from on high.
“Bloody Hell, why did we wait so long to do this?” Killian panted against her neck, before rolling off of her. “Come here,” he said, pulling Emma against his side.
Instead of nestling into him, Emma stood up and stretched deliciously. “So, I guess, I’ll umm... see you around?” A mixture of shock, disappointment, and embarrassment crossed his face before he quickly jumped out of bed. The look was priceless, she really did feel heartless, but she couldn’t resist teasing him a little.
“Right, love,” he mumbled as he turned from her and grabbed his slacks off the floor.
Emma tiptoed behind him and circled her arms around his waist, his whole body was taught. “I’m fucking with you, Jones,” she said gently, pressing her cheek to his back. “Join me for a shower?” As his body relaxed, she placed a few kisses between his shoulder blades causing him to shiver.
He turned in her arms and took her mouth in a hungry kiss. “You are a devilish little minx, aren’t you?”
“I couldn’t resist,” she mumbled into his mouth. “Come on, let’s go get clean… and dirty.”
“Do you promise to tell me more dirty little fantasies?”
A blush ran up her body as she remembered telling Killian her favorite fantasy about him.
“Don’t get shy now. For someone who says they’re shite with words, you were certainly very chatty in bed.
“Oh my gosh, Killian.” She rolled her eyes and smacked his chest as mortification coursed through her. She grabbed his hand and pulled him toward the shower, but found herself being swung back into his chest.
Killian wrapped his arms around her middle and pressed his front to her back in a sensual embrace. “Don’t you dare ever feel ashamed to tell me exactly what you want, love. If you want it harder,” he thrust his hips against her ass to elaborate, “if you want it deeper,” he growled, sucking at the lobe of her ear, “if you want my mouth between your thighs…”
Emma moaned as Killian continued rutting his hips against her ass and caressing her with his strong hands. She hung on his every word.
“If you want to watch me stroke my cock,” he said huskily, “just say the words.”
“Fuck, Killian. I want you to fuck me again,” she responded breathily. Taking his hand and pulling him toward the shower again, she met no resistance this time.
Reaching into the shower she turned the water on full blast and then turned around and jumped into his arms and wrapped her legs around his waist to kiss him while they waited for it to warm up.
He took her again, against the wall of her shower, then they made out until the water began to cool, before they both fell into bed, sated and exhausted.
♡~♥~♡~♥~♡
Emma hummed happily as she stood at the stove making pancakes. Killian was still sound asleep in her bed, the hint of a smile playing at his lips, and a hard case of morning wood if the slight tent of the sheets was anything to judge by. As much as she’d wanted to wake him up with salacious activities, she’d also wanted to let him sleep in. So she’d silently slipped into her black silk robe and headed to the kitchen to make coffee and breakfast. Her mind kept jumping to different parts of their evening together, and how much she hoped for a repeat performance.
An unadulterated smile broke out across her face when Killian’s husky voice broke through her morning musings. “Something smells delicious.”
The way he nuzzled into her made her weak in the knees as she protested the compliment. “It’s just from a box.”
“Mmm,” he hummed against her ear, “I’m not talking about the pancakes.”
Emma spun in his arms and leaned up on her tiptoes to kiss him. Her mind was spinning, it was a little shocking to her that she wasn’t panicking at all about how much they’d discussed last night and how deep their feelings ran for each other. She realized she wasn’t afraid because what they had was worth taking the risk for. Breaking the kiss, she peered into his beautiful blue eyes. Eyes full of emotions that she knew mirrored her own. And the absolutely boyish grin gracing his face made her heart soar.
“What?” he asked as she continued gazing at him.
“Nothing, I’m just... happy.”
“Aye, love, me too.”
Emma leaned in to kiss him again, this time parting her mouth and begging entrance to his as she stroked the seam of his lips with her tongue. “To hell with the pancakes,” she muttered when he opened to her, tongues tangling together. Carding her fingers through his hair, only their breathing and wet kisses filled the air as she pushed him back toward the table until he was sitting with her nestled between his legs.
Untying her robe, Killian caressed his hands up and down the lush skin of her torso before greedily pulling her against him, showing her how ready she had him, not that it was hard to tell through his boxer briefs.
“I smell pancakes. I thought we were eating on the way to the zoo?” a masculine voice said, cutting through the moment.
“David!” Emma gasped.
“Your brother has a key, good to know,” Killian muttered. Emma dropped her head into Killian’s shoulder, willing this to be a dream. That was quickly shattered when she heard Mary Margaret’s voice.
“Are we interrupting something,” Mary Margaret asked, eyes wide as saucers and a smirk begging to be let out.
“EmEm! Killy!” little Leo cooed.
David’s hands had immediately found his hips, as they quite often did before interrogating a suspect. Although the look on his face looked more like he was preparing to beat a perp. “What the… I mean… What’s go- Why the hell is he- Goddammit!” he roared, throwing his hands up in the air, and the toddler snuggled in Mary Margaret’s arms immediately started crying at his father’s outburst. “I thought I said she was off limits?”
“Hey!” Mary Margaret and Emma both yelled. As Emma stepped away from Killian to give her brother a piece of her mind, Killian quickly grabbed her wrist and pulled her back. Neither missed the huff of exasperation from David, but both ignored it. Killian quickly folded Emma’s robe over and tied it closed before giving her an attempted wink.
She smiled that happy smile at him before returning a scowl to her brother. “I am not a possession, David. You’re not my father, you’re not my husband, and you’re not my keeper! You don’t get to tell me who I can and cannot be with.” She was outright yelling as she finished.
“I’m not,” he boomed. “I’m telling Killian he can’t be with you. I don’t want you with a cop, Emma!”
“Why is being with a cop good enough for your wife, the one you share a love so pure with and would lay down your life for, but being with a cop isn’t okay for me?”
“It’s not like that, Emma,” David argued.
“Oh yeah? Then what’s it like? I’m dying to understand,” she retorted.
“I’m just trying to protect you.”
“From what?” When David made no move to answer, she shouted her question louder at him. “From what!?”
“Daddy, EmEm, no fight,” Leo cried.
“Emma,” Killian called softly and she turned to look at his calming blue eyes. He was quite the site, clad only in his skivvies, both hands strategically placed over his package. “Let’s get dressed. You both could use a minute to calm down.”
“That’s a great idea,” Mary Margaret piped in. “Take five, we’ll finish making breakfast. You still have that leftover ham from the other night?”
Emma nodded at her sister-in-law, then she and Killian headed toward her bedroom.
“Where are you going, Jones,” David seethed.
“Where the fuck do you think his clothes are, David,” Emma cursed.
Once in the bedroom, Killian pulled Emma into his arms. “Hey, we are going to make him understand, okay. There’s no reason to fight with him. Let’s make him understand. Hear him out, whatever his reasons, and then show him why he’s wrong.”
“No, Killian. He’s being an absolute dick. He has no right to tell me what to do. And I hate whatever his reasons are. I don’t care.”
Killian placed a hand on each of her cheeks and looked into her eyes, before planting a soft kiss to her lips. “Yes you do, love. And we can figure this out.”
Admittedly, some of her anger faded as Killian talked of understanding and explaining and communication. She walked to her dresser and pulled out one of his old t-shirts she’d borrowed at a party at his place.
“You still have this?” he chuckled.
“It smelled like you for a long time after I borrowed it, I like sleeping in it.”
“That party was over a year ago,” he mused.
“I told you, I’ve wanted…,” she paused, trying to find a better word for how she’d felt for so long. “I’ve really liked you for a long time, Killian.”
He slipped the t-shirt over his head before descending on her and kissing her fully. “Maybe almost for as long as I’ve fancied you.”
She just giggled at that, hugging him for fortification before taking his hand and heading back out into the battle zone.
“Wait, I still don’t have pants.”
Emma led him to the guest room.“David and Mary Margaret keep extra clothes here for when they don’t decide early enough who is going to be designated driver.”
“I don’t think Mary Margaret’s pants will fit me, darling.”
“Shut up you goofball,” she laughed as she threw him a pair of David’s sweatpants.
“Let’s sit down and eat, and discuss this like adults,” Mary Margaret, always the mother, ordered everyone when Emma and Killian emerged.
She’d finished cooking the pancakes, whipped up a batch of scrambled eggs, and was just finishing frying up the leftover ham. David was pouring a round of coffee for everyone and holding Leo who was happily babbling now that he had a pancake in his hand and no one was yelling.
After strapping the baby into the portable high chair they kept at Emma’s place, everyone sat down at the table and dug into breakfast.
“Can you just tell me what you think you’re protecting me from?” Emma asked. “I mean you trust Killian with your life, literally. Why don’t you trust him with my heart?”
David’s stoic expression lightened at that. “Does he have your heart, Emma?”
Killian glanced toward Emma and smiled knowingly. They didn’t need to call it love right this instant, but they were definitely invested in each other.
“Answer the question, dear,” Mary Margaret prodded. “Otherwise they don’t have the truth, because trusting Killian has nothing to do with it, and you know it.”
“Fine,” David sighed. “You dealt with abandonment by your own parents, by every subsequent foster parent, by the only friend you made as a child, who turned out to be a fraud, and then with Neal’s betrayal, which almost broke you. I don’t want you to ever experience that abandonment again.” David’s voice broke as he finished explaining. Tears rimmed his eyes as he contemplated even trying to understand what she’d been through. And he would be damned before it happened again, especially by someone who he’d introduced into her life.
“What?” Emma asked incredulously. “That has everything to do with trusting Killian,” she argued. “Why do you assume he’d abandon me.”
Leo quieted as the tension between siblings started to grow again and Mary Margaret looked around the table, jaw clenched and a warning in her eyes to every adult at the table to not upset her baby again.
Killian placed his hand over Emma’s white knuckles where her fist lay balled up on the table. “I don’t think he means I would intentionally leave you, Swan.”
Emma looked between her brother and Killian, a confused furrow cocking her brows.
David chuckled, “See, he gets it.”
“Explain, David. Make her understand where you’re coming from,” his wife urged him.
Wait, Emma thought, it was supposed to be the other way around. She was supposed to be making him understand why she and Killian were a good, no great, thing. Before she could speak though, David started up again.
“Emma, you really think no one sees how much you two are into each other? You really think for almost two years, no one has watched the way you pine for each other, flirt off the charts, tease each other like kids on a playground? You’re like an old married couple half the time, we’d have to be blind not to see it. Killian is a good man, I understand he’d never purposefully hurt you, he’d have to deal with me if he did. But you have to understand that officers die in the line of duty all the time. Being with one means you accept that risk. I couldn’t bear the thought of you losing one more person you loved, especially if it was someone I brought into your life.”
A tear or two trailed down Emma’s cheeks as she listened to her brother. As she really heard what he was saying. For the first time, she understood where he was coming from. It finally made sense why he didn’t want her being with a cop. And it relieved her mind that it had nothing to do with Killian personally, especially because she wasn’t giving him up.
“EmEm, you sad?” Leo asked.
A small laugh turned cry-hiccup escaped Emma’s mouth. “No baby, I’m happy,” she smiled.
Leo clapped his hands, his innocent celebration of an adult human being happy, bringing a smile to everyone’s face.
Emma unfurled her balled up fist under Killian’s comforting hand and interlaced their fingers, giving him a strong smile. “David, while I am thankful that you explained your reason for not wanting me with Killian and I even understand where you’re coming from, I could walk outside tomorrow and get hit by a bus. There are no guarantees in this life.”
David nodded his head as he glanced between her face and her and Killian’s intertwined fingers.
“He has my heart, David, would you deny us that?”
David sat back in his chair and folded his arms over his chest as he often did when contemplating something. After a full minute, at least, he exhaled a breath bespeaking acceptance, albeit reluctantly. “I’m beginning to see that. And I could never deny you happiness, Emma.”
Emma beamed at her brother, understanding that while his actions may have been off kilter the reasoning behind them was fueled by brotherly love.
Mary Margaret leaned over and kissed her husband on the cheek before flashing Emma and Killian a smile. “Glad we got this settled,” she giggled.
“So, just what are your intentions toward my sister, Jones?”
Emma scoffed loudly, rolling her eyes at David’s attempt at big brother intimidation tactics. But when she heard Killian’s answer, she was kinda thankful to her brother.
“Well Dave, whatever happens between me and Emma is as much up to her as it is me. But I’m in this for the long haul if she’ll have me.”
“Good answer, partner,” David laughed as he threw his hand out across the table in an offer to shake Killian’s. “Two rules,” he added as he squeezed Killian’s hand tighter, “you are never allowed to kiss and tell around me, and if you hurt her, I’ll kill you.”
Killian let David have his moment of brotherly protection, because he understood how important it was to cherish Emma. He was the one who’d fancied her for almost two years after all.
“All right, enough of that,” Mary Margaret sighed as she wiped Leo’s hands and face. “Let’s get everything cleaned up, and then we are headed to the zoo as planned. Emma you are free to bail, you and Killian probably have a lot of catching up to do for the last year and a half.”
Emma waggled her eyebrows at her sister-in-law and Killian had the good sense to not dispense with his usual abundance of innuendos, while David just cast the evil eye at his wife.
“What,” Mary Margaret asked, holding her hands up in mock innocence and confusion, “what’d I say?”
“Ga-dammen!” Leo shouted and every head whipped around to look at the little boy as he tugged helplessly at the lap belt of the high chair. “Up, up,” he pleaded.
“Way to go, dear, looks like he’ll have your charming vocabulary,” Mary Margaret scolded her husband.
Not having any kids of their own had Emma and Killian struggling not to bellow out loud at the little guys antics.
“No, no, Leo,” David told his son as he unbuckled the lap belt and picked him up. “That’s a… that’s a daddy word.”
“David! What kind of lesson is that?”
Emma and Killian just looked at each other and started cracking up. “So what do you say? Stay in or join these crazy kids at the zoo?” Emma asked Killian.
“Are you asking me out on a date?”
“Yes, that’s exactly what I am doing,” Emma deadpanned. “I’m asking you out on a date with me, my brother, his wife and kid, and the monkeys too.”
“Sounds delightful as long as you’ll be there,” Killian answered as he pulled her into his embrace and pecked her lips.
“Hey, let’s just take it slow,” David interrupted, “I’m not quite there yet.”
“Oh relax, she’s 28, not 16, they’ve obviously already done the deed, how are you going to get squirmy over a hug?”
“Not helping!” David pleaded with his wife, rubbing his temples in a soothing motion.
“He’s such a baby,” Mary Margaret cracked up. “How about you guys meet us there? No rush,” she added conspiratorially.
“For fuck’s sake, do you want to lay out a trail of rose petals to the bed for them?”
“He’s too easy,” she continued laughing.
“Fuhfuh sake!!” Leo shouted.
Mary Margaret’s laughter cut off immediately as she stared daggers at her husband. “Watch your mouth, he’s a parrot these days!”
“Gonna be a fun day,” Emma said, once the Nolans had departed. She was most definitely trying to convince herself more than anyone else.
“It’ll be brilliant, love. You and me, that is the only requisite for my enjoyment.”
“I bet you say that to all the other girls.”
“There are no other girls. Only you, milady.”
“Good,” Emma whispered before pulling him in for a kiss.
“Mmm, let’s practice mating like the animals, Swan.”
Emma laughed so hard her stomach hurt. “I have no doubt David is now timing the drive to the zoo and adding it to the time he thinks it should take us to be ready.”
“I can be quick,” Killian purred as he thrust his hardening length against her stomach.
“Or we could take our time and really freak him out?”
“Your heart’s desire, Swan, I promise, that’s all I want you to have.”
Emma stared into the intense gaze of Killian’s eyes, the blue shining with truth and sincerity. “The long haul, Killian, that’s what my heart desires. You and me.”

Jobs
No, this isn’t about Steve Jobs. I am still mad at him for stealing my idea. I had come up with an operating system just before he did but apparently he is better at marketing than I am. I even had my system named after a fruit. For some reason no one in the financial world would invest in a computer called Lemon. Oh well I can’t dwell on the past. (Well I actually can but I will do it in private)
This blog is about work jobs. Do not get it confused with my August 13, 2018 blog called ‘9 to 5′ where I said why people hate to work, it is more like a continuation of my November 5th 2018 blog called ‘Take This Job and Shove It’. I have come across more jobs that I would never do. Keep in mind I have no intention of going back to work so rest assured that if any of these positions appeal to you there are no worries I will be competing for them with you.
- Shepherd. Imagine being a teacher, or even a boss of any sort and everyone in your care looks identical. Who do you yell at? Who do you hit on? Way too confusing. BTW if you get this job you can yell at the sheep but don’t hit on them. That is baaaad. (sorry)
- Drug Lord body double. I have misgivings about a job where there is only one line in your contract and it says ‘we promise to take care of your family’.
- Cleaning up after elephants at the circus. You think your job involves taking a lot of crap. au contraire. (Yes I am fluent in a couple of words) This job is also dangerous. Don’t believe me? check Yu-tube under ‘man’s head gets stuck up elephant’s ass.’ WARNING: Watching this video clip is both hilarious and addictive. spoiler alert: the man survives.
- GIgolo. Let’s face it men are dogs. If a woman feels she needs to pay for sex my question is ‘what is wrong with this woman?’. Run away, Run fast. Recommend her to someone you don’t really like.
- Leather underwear model. New leather is stiff and will chafe. Used leather...well that is getting no where near my special place.
- A tester for new pharmaceutical products. I do not want to spend every week alternating between explosive diarrhea (proud moment. I didn’t need spell check for that word) projectile vomiting, hair loss (well more hair loss) or fear of the ever popular may cause death.
- Driver training instructor. Based on what I see on the road when you have this job you can do nothing and just pass people. There is however a 97% chance of being killed on the job.
That’s it for now. Maybe I will come across more of these in the future. I can sense you are tingling with anticipation.
THOUGHT OF THE WEEK: There is a right job for everyone out there. Those that don’t look will never find it.

Hi, congrats on starting a writing blog, I wish you luck and hope you have fun! Could you do a little ficlet of someone making Momo feel insecure about her height but then her s/o defends her (and then Momo realizes how much she loves her s/o and cuddles/hugs/forehead kisses ensue)? Thank you so much!
2:42 am - how dare someone make momo feel insecure sis imma FITE... which is why the reader in this has a bit of a uh, temper. i don’t think this is quite as fluffy as you wanted but there’s some soft stuff sprinkled in there. side note, you can pry the hc of momo enjoying puns from my cold, dead, body
Momo Yaoyorozu
— you and momo had been recently let off the stress of hero internships, and decided to schedule a fun mall date to relax
— sometime during the trip, momo happened to notice the mall’s new boba store that had opened recently, and insisted you both try some of the flavors that they had to offer
momo tugged at your sleeve and looked towards the direction of the shop, “ah- y/n look, it’s the new gong cha! i hear they make amazing caramel bubble tea...” she turns back to you, eyes wide and hopeful, “would you like to stop by as well?”
— you smiled, amused at her excitement over a simple drink, and simply nodded in agreement,
“yeah, i could go for some boba! i’m curious about their flavors too” you pause, tilting your head in mock inquisition and continue in a teasing voice. “know what you’re getting already? sure seems like it”
— the 1-A student let a gracious blush fill her cheeks, which let you know she was growing slightly flustered at your playful poking,
“w-well yes, i may have done some research beforehand... erm, anyways, if you’re alright with it then let’s go inside!” and with that, she took your hand in hers and made her way to the shop
— among the few customers there was a group of younger boys ( junior high, if you had to take a guess ) huddled at a table in the corner snorting with laughter
— you glanced at the group briefly, noticing their volume, but thought nothing more of it and allowed momo to lead you towards the cashier
the woman at the cash register smiled as you two approached, “hello! welcome to gong cha, how may i help you?”
— you observed the overhead menu as momo cleared her throat to order, hmmm do i want a boba or a milk foam... oo but a slushie sounds good... should i get a matcha? wait is that too basic- actually no i don’t care, i’ll get a matcha
— with that ( rehearsed in your head to make sure you don’t flub your words ), you finalize your order, pay, and opt to stand to the side with momo to wait as the woman prepares your drinks
— while you both stand patiently and talk in the meantime, you can’t help but overhear part of the conversation from the group of boys in the back,
“hey hey hey shut up or they’ll hear you, dude!!”
“bruh they’re not even paying attention. answer the question, is the tall one a solid 10 or what?”
“...nah, she’s not my type. too tall, it’s weird and would probably be like dating a giraffe, honestly.”
— your eyes widen, clamping your mouth shut and immediately searching momo’s face for any sign that she overheard them. your face falls once you recognize the signs of self-doubt slowly creeping into her festures. she gives you a small smile and tries to shake her head to assure you everything’s alright but you aren’t having it
without a second thought about causing a scene ( the shop was almost empty save for a few customers near the back ) you whip around and face the boys,
“seriously, kid? how immature do you have to be to judge someone by their height? what, does it make you feel like less of a man? it’s not like you were one to begin with so i don’t know why you’re complaining, honestly.” you emphasized the last word to mock their last comment, and fix them all a glare,
“she’s out of your league, buddy. turn around and enjoy your drink before i shove it up your-“
— momo hurriedly interrupts, waving one hand and taking yours with the other, giving it a squeeze as if to say “i got it from here, thanks”
“i think they get it! haha...” she starts, but trails off to give them a stern pointed look. “besides, we’ve seen firsthand that poorly-considered comments like those will cease to get anyone very far in life, especially in the hero industry.”
— the group was silent for a moment, processing her words and turning red at the insinuation towards their chances at becoming heroes. eventually, they collectively nodded and muttered their apologies, turning around with ears burning and metaphorical tails between their legs
— you both turn away, glad the situation didn’t escalate further, and you scoff, still clearly irritated by their comments. tch, arrogant middle schoolers... like what the hell? do they even have eyes? momo’s gorgeous!! i should’ve ripped that kid a new one i swear-
momo interrupted your thoughts by squeezing your hand again. you look up at her with a pout and she laughs lightly. “thank you for telling them off, dear. it was- well i guess you could say it was rather heroic of you...?” she giggles
— your irritation morphs into exasperation and you groan, “momoooooo that was baaaad”
“your smile tells me otherwise though, hm?”
“i’m smiling ‘cause you’re cute, not because the pun was enjoyable, duh. which, it was not by the way” you sigh. “but seriously though, are you okay? they were just being dumb kids, your height makes you charming and like, seem more commanding and stuff...” now it’s your turn to blush at how stupid you sounded
— momo gives you a big, genuine smile that spreads warmth throughout your chest. it’s the one that never fails to get your heart all tingly and the butterflies in your stomach all excited, and you can’t help but grin back, as sappy as it sounds
— suddenly feeling a small surge of confidence, momo leans down to give you a soft peck on the forehead before standing straight again. “i’m fine! i promise. i have you to make sure of that, so don’t be too worried now!” she returns.
— as if a light bulb turns on above both your heads, you turn towards the counter to check on the progress of your orders and are relieved to find the cashier woman finally emerging with the drinks
“i’ve got uhhhh caramel boba and a matcha milk slush for momo?”
— you speak up, raising a hand, “that would be for us, thank you so much!” you and momo grab the drinks and some straws, walking out of the shop
“you’re welcome, have a nice day!” the cashier calls
— you both turn back to bid them a good day as well, and momo intertwines your fingers and heads off to the next store. for the rest of the date, you’re a bit more affectionate than usual, albeit, still keeping her bashfulness in mind as you supply your girlfriend a few pecks on the cheek whilst you attempt to help her browse for clothing items. momo, who usually shies away from pda, surprisingly allows you to continue without complaint. i don’t mind much today, she thinks, they deserve the extra love

Most Popular One-Shot: ...its...its the crossover ship fic I wrote years ago ain’t it. *checks* It motherfuckin is. I KNEW IT. Goddamn...2014 was a year... I don’t wanna talk about it lol
Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story: I mainly write one-shots. And its def something pnat related cause I have so many pnat fics oh my god. Several of which are like multi-chapter.
Favorite Story You Wrote: PTH tough...I got like 64 fics man XD Hm... Counterbalance. I may not be into pnat anymore...but hot damn I’m like still motherfuckin PROUD OF IT! The stars fuckin aligned for that fic...also its uuuuuh choose your own adventure lololol Otherwise...my current stuff (ie Fallout fics) I’m like “oh hell yea I’m happy with this”
How You Choose Your Titles: If its a one word title...typically that’s the prompt I had lol. I’m very fuckin partial to using song titles tho XD if I’m listening to a song while writing a fic on repeat...that song is gonna be tied to that fic/those characters involved.
Complete: I...know I have a bad track record with completing multi-chapter fics. It’s mostly cause of like, life getting in the way, or I lose interest cause like hardly anyone really leaves feedback on my stuff haha ah... I have adhd like baaaad. I’m also a motherfuckin slow writer. BUT! One-shots? I got dem for days man. I can complete the hell out of them!!! I’m just...real fuckin slow looool XD
Incomplete: This goes back to my bad track record with multi-chapter fics. Thankfully like...I fuckin learned about the [bracket] method so now I’m like...more likely to PUSH THROUGH things. I also am like constantly juggling like several wips at once haha
Do You Outline?: It’s typically vague af. “I want this to happen” and that’s basically it. If its longer...bit more in depth. But like brackets? HELP SO MUCH
Coming Soon/Not Yet Started: Well, many things. Ch2 of Sanctuary Hills...is making slow progress BUT PROGRESS! Work’s been kickin my ass lol. I did some edits and still need to write the last fuckin chuuuunk which isn’t much but I’m dragging my feet LOL Also, Rest & Rewind is sorta at a standstill mostly cause I like what I got, but I want to push a bit more cause like hey...bonding. There’s also the “mansion” fic I maybe blowing a bit out of proportion OOPS but I’m having fun coming up with more spooky shit haha. NOOOOT to mention like other things I have planned... :3c
Do You Accept Prompts?: Yes! But I’m like...really weird about them? I gotta hit a certain mindset for them. Also, being a slow writer, I just seriously need to take a step back and stop trying to make everything fuckin long XD I think I just need to try drabbles again. I do miss writing short af stuff lol STILL!!! Feel free to send! They’ll probs sit for a bit, but I’ll def hit them up! tumblr’s wonk and like...I’ll forget about asks sometimes too...oops
Upcoming Story You Are Most Excited To Write: That spooky mansion fic I mentioned ngl. I’m totes excited to write more spooky shit! Esp since it’ll be The END Squad (Echo, Nick, & Deacon ;3c ) But I’m also...excited for uh a few other things? Mostly, some uh super indulgent stuff I’m trying to push myself to do more. I’m a bit like “BUT PLOT”, but also...the indulgence...
#as told by glow#tag meme#im...writing slower cause im thinking more about words lol#thank god for the bracket method or im pretty damn sure i wouldve given up on the current ch fic im working on months ago

Hi Liza🌼! ✦,✒,✌,& ◔ ? For the unusual music ask :)
Hiiiiiiiii Chloe!!!! I’m sorry that’s a bit late but thank you for the ask i love you
✌ Name 3 bands you would most like to meet. Why? Damn what??? This is such a difficult question uughhh. The first one would be Queen for sure. I'm living for Queen, I have such a strong spiritual connection with their music, 'cause I've been listening to them my whole life, since my very childhood till this day, so all the boiz have become a part of a family (I know it's sound silly but stillllllll). So I just wanna hug all of these tight and tell how fucking much their music means to me.
The second one is gonna be not a band but my absolute favorite solo artist of all time - Roy Orbison. He's the most adorable and precious human being on the planet (based on so many good words from different musicians and people of art that I've read so fare). I just want to feel that warmth of his soul and heart.
And the third one is gonna be Greta Van Fleet boys just cause I love them sm for their passionate love for blues and 70s rock music, I want to talk with them about music we like and I WANNA GO ON TRIP WITH JOSH SO BAAAAD ahahah
✦ What musicians did you like 5 years ago? 10 years ago?
Wow 5 years ago I had pretty much similar music taste as now, but my absolute favorite band was Arctic Monkeys and Oasis, I was also really into Kasabian and Foals. 10 years ago I used to listen to some pop boybands like Jonas Brothers and One Direction Listen to these bands mixed with my fave Queen, GnR and Pink Floyd lmao
✒ If you were a song, what song would you be and why?
This is one of the most difficult questions on the planet jeez. I may say "Wish You Were Here" 'cause it's my fave, or something by Queen/ GnR but I'm down with incredible and so powerful song which makes me cry like a baby 'cause this song has so much to say to these ignorant bastards. I'm talking about "Believe" by Elton John. I can't even express how much I love this song for its power, the message is so incredibly pure and true: without love we're NOTHING, with no love there's no respect and without respect there's no safety world to live in. So love is a backbone of our lives and existence in general.
◔ Put your mp3/ipod on shuffle and name the first 5 songs you stumble upon.
I don't have neither MP3 nor iPod so I just put my Apple Music on shuffle
I'll be there for you by Bon Jovi
Wonderful tonight by Eric Clapton
Working for the man by Roy Orbison
This Black Bat Licorice by Jack White
Supersonic by Oasis

BOOK | Unqualified by Anna Faris
Remind me to pay more attention.
When I was about to begin this book, I was blindsided by the subtitle that I have never seen and only found on the official title page once I opened it. This is not just Unqualified by Anna "Rhymes with Donna” Faris; this is Unqualified: Love and Relationship Advice from a Celebrity Who Just Wants to Help. Excuse me WHAT?! Turns out, I’ve been under a rock and this is the gist of both her podcast and her book. And here I thought I knew things. *facepalm*
While she may not necessarily be qualified in the love department, she is actually qualified to write a book. Or at least a little more qualified than some other celebrities. Our lovely Anna actually has a degree in English from the University of Washington, and that honestly gave me so much hope going into Unqualified. One thing I always struggle with is when celebrities are given book deals seeming to only sprout from their fame; most are horrible writers, but I suppose that’s what gives those books their charm, proving even in the slightest that yes, celebrities are just as flawed as we are, except with more money. ANYWHO, finding out that Anna knows her stuff was such a promising fact. ‘Cause let me tell you, if I based reading a book on it’s Foreword, I would have put this one down and walked far away. (That’s not entirely true, but you know what I mean).
Let’s start by talking about the Foreword by her then-husband Chris Pratt.
First and foremost, I want to say that, knowing that Anna and Chris announced/got divorced shortly after the publishing of this book in 2017 kind of puts a damper on the whole thing. Not because it may insinuate to some readers that she should not be giving advice on love and relationships, but rather because they were such a cute couple and, as many fans said once it was announced, makes it feel like love is dead if these two couldn’t make it. So the dedication, the foreword, and the plethora of times she discussed her relationship with Chris throughout the book were all so sad. And the way she talks about him and the anecdotes of what he’s done for her... it really is so difficult to believe that these two didn’t last.
Secondly, Chris Pratt should not be writing. This foreword was so painfully awkward that, like I said, if I were basing my continuation of a book on that first introduction, I would not have read it. And if you Google the topic, you will find numerous online articles with this same connotation; we all agree it is baaaad. Not only did he spend more time talking about himself and how he doesn’t know what a “foreword” is, he also made it sound like it was just an obligation with a word count. “I love her and respect her and told her I would” was his reasoning. Not once did I feel like he set the mood for the book from a more personal perspective, as a person who was her family for a decade, but rather he was giving us a short biography of Anna – things like how they both grew up in Washington, how they’re both actors that play idiots (his Andy Dwyer to her Cindy Campbell), how acting is her passion, various traits of her personality (how she is kind and what he calls an “information collector”). There was one line that made me believe that he was writing this foreword as a way to convince us to give Anna a book deal as if we were the publishers. He says “Anna deserves this book. I can promise you it will be a great and interesting read.” Yes, Chris, it was. But your foreword could have provided so much more than a grade-school style report on your ex-wife. I’m so glad Anna also wrote her own introduction. If you do end up reading this book, please just skip right to her intro.
In the first handful of chapters of Unqualified, I wasn’t entirely convinced that this book was worth reading. Especially during those times where she straight up admitted that she was giving advice based on speculation instead of actual experience. I’m not saying that Anna has to have experienced everything experience-able in order to talk to people about it, but saying that she didn’t actually have a relationship related to a certain topic just puts a damper on what she’s trying to help with. Like the list of men she says to not date; it includes musicians, doctors, athletes, chefs, therapists, and actors. (It also includes magicians, but I think most women steer clear of them anyways lol). With the exception of actors, none of those are based on her own personal experiences with anyone in those professions. She even says to us “I have zero experience.” So who should you date, as per Anna Faris? Woodworkers. Or a guy who makes boats, because they brood. *shakes head* Girl, I can’t even.
While I’m indifferent to the portions of Unqualified regarding her childhood through most of her young adult life (college shenanigans don’t really pique my interest), there is a passage that has stuck with me long after finishing this book. Anna’s childhood crush/ “boyfriend” (she was 8 years old here, call it what you will) had just dumped her. So she goes home, grabs an orange from the fridge, writes this horrible boy’s name on it in marker, and then proceeds to chuck said orange into the forest behind her family’s home as a means to get over him. Anna dubs this the “orange ceremony,” which she says she must have felt it symbolic, wherein casting fruit into the “abyss” would rid her of the emotions of the situation. She may have been a child at the time, but as an adult, I absolutely love this concept. This sort of symbology is very reminiscent of various practices in paganism. Obviously not her intent as I highly doubt she was a practicing pagan at eight-years-old, but the truth is, things like this can actually work. Some of us older individuals would just need a lot of oranges.
The reason it has taken me soooo much longer to write a review for Unqualified (I finished it months ago, yikes!), is because I honestly just don’t know how I feel about it. My notebook is filled with pull-quotes and excerpts that stirred me in some way, shape, or form – and many of them, very good! – but as an overall novel, I can’t decide if I should keep it for a future reread, or donate it. The only thing I feel that really sticks out in my mind about this book was how much I hated Chris Pratt’s introduction. And that is sad and depressing.
I did like that Unqualified was not just purely about love and relationships advice, and that it was intermixed with her personal memoir. I say that because there were plenty of times where her advice was not even advice at all. Like, for example, when she moved to Los Angeles with/for her then boyfriend. It’s reminiscent of an action many women take in tales of love. However, Anna also followed a career venture. This wasn’t solely about following her boyfriend out of sheer infatuation; if the relationship didn’t work out, she still had something there to fall back on, and that’s not something typical of an experience like this. Granted, yes, it’s kudos on her part for going for her own reasons, as well as for a guy, and it plays into her discussion of feminism at the beginning of the chapter. But in this of many parts of the book that was supposedly advice-driven, I made the note that maybe one sentence or one small paragraph at the end could have passed for guidance. At least, in most cases, she’s aware it’s not helpful.
Despite my typical qualms with books like Unqualified, at least for the time being I think it will remain on my shelves with my other keepers. Although her counsel is indeed questionable at times, it’s hard to deny how much I relate to Anna Faris and agreed with a good handful of the statements she makes in the book. And instead of doing all the talking herself, portions of Unqualified found basis from her podcast listeners through "Listener Responses,” as well as discussions and interviews with some people in her life (like Sim Sarna, her podcast partner in crime, and then husband Chris Pratt), and I like that aspect about it. It’s not just Anna retelling information from her perspective; it’s letting those people she has learned from have a voice as well.
I jotted a final note that I think sums up my thoughts on this book pretty well: Unqualified probably could have just remained a podcast. But for those of us not necessarily interested in listening to hours upon hours of content, the book is a good alternative, especially since Anna mentions in the beginning that the book is based on what she learned through two years of the podcast. A lot of Unqualified contained thoughts and experiences I personally could relate to and has happened to me, so, to quote myself “I suppose her book did what she wanted it to do.”

Writing Reflections - 2/4/2020
(I’ve admired my friend Linn’s process of keeping a writing journal, so I’d like to try the same as I get back into things! ...Doubt they’ll always be this long or organized tho lmao)
I feel like rambling about a few different general things, so I’m gonna break it down by topic instead of addressing any specific fics this time. (I must also say that I don’t expect anyone to read this, it’s more that I want to organize my thoughts, and I invite anyone to read if they’re interested)
Interests:
I feel like I should talk about this first, since most ppl follow me for Haikyuu, and I've hardly been writing for it the past year. In my burnout, I preferred using what little bits of creative energy I had on writing for RWTW cause there’s less content for my preference there.
My current primary interest is filling the MusaShin tag! Which I’ll ramble about more further down. I’d also like to start writing some video game stuff, like FE3H.
I would like to write some Haikyuu stuff again in the future, but it would likely be a while, and I’d like to change my focus to EnnoFuta and AsaDai!
(I will be vague, but if you think you know why I need a break and a change: you’re probably half right. It is not some statement against it or “Oh no, this isn’t my preference” or anything like that, but rather, there’s an element that reminds me of some bad experiences in my past. Similar to “This song played when something bad happened to me, so now I can’t listen to it.” As a result, I’m taking time to let the negative associations ease, and going forward, there’s a handful of male characters and a character archetype I will avoid writing.)
I do have a ton of HQ wips I don’t intend to go back to, so I'll likely share them here sometime soon before deleting them, cause why not.
2020 Projects:
So far, I’m running Run with the Wind Week in May, and a RWTW Exchange during the summer! I’m hoping to write at least five fics of varying lengths for the week... all of them MusaShin ofc, lmao
I’m also in a zine for Somnium Files! I cannot properly express how excited I am about this. (It’s such a great game, and it’s on sale, nudge nudge wink wink.) I’ve already finished my first draft, too! It’s been a great experience to step out and write fics for games with this and the DR:Growth zine.
I mentioned wanting to fill the MusaShin tag above; in short, I want to write them a bunch of oneshots and work on at least one slowburn for them. My problem is that I have so many ideas, I have a hard time settling on any of them, and end up constantly bouncing between wips instead. I’m limiting myself to bouncing between the fanweek fics for the moment, but once that passes... god knows what I’ll end up working on lmao. But also, I should be on something that’ll help me with that, which leads me to:
Mental Health, Burnout, and Pacing:
Wow, that burnout was baaaad. I struggled hard to write anything for what, a year? Every time I thought I was getting back into it, I’d get hit with that feeling again. I definitely feel better now, but I’m also definitely doing more to help avoid the feeling again.
I set a super small daily goal of 100 words, and honestly? It’s been incredibly helpful. I usually end up writing more than that (usually a lot more), and no matter how much I write, I feel good about making progress, versus not writing for days and feeling stressed over it.
With the burnout gone and this helpful routine in its place, my biggest obstacle now is my ADHD. Concentrating is stupidly difficult no matter what I try (exercise, clean work space, scented candles, trying all sorts of music, etc etc).
But the good news is: I’m getting treatment for it. I’m on my first prescription for it now, and honestly, it hasn’t worked in the least lmao, but finding a med that works can often take some trial and error, so I’m optimistic that we’ll find something that works for me in time. And when that happens, I hope I’ll write a TON, cause I miss having that as my main hobby.
And lastly:
god i miss space aus so badly
