About our protags:.

1. Duela Dent:

▫️While I find her multiple backstories fascinating (my favorite being the confusing she was from Earth 3 all along), I will keep the more logical one:

▪️Duela is the child of Harvey and Gilda Dent.

▪️ Harvey was scarred and became Two-Face during Gilda pregnancy, becaming instable and some times being really angry that her wife wasn't pregnant of twins.

▪️Afraid to be like his own abusive father, Harvey decided that the best he could do was abandon his wife and daugther before he could hurt them. Before going away he wrotre a letter explaining everything for when his daugther got older. Since they hadn't chose the name yet, Harvey used Duela in the letter as a cute nickname.

▪️ With her own mental health declining, Gilda could not raise the kid by herself and choose to give her to adoption after birth. She still had hopes of both her and Harvey seeking mental heath, getting better and adopting their kid back, that is why she named the baby Duela beforehand.

▪️After being reunited in The Long Halloween, they try to adopt her. But at this point they are worse and the orphanage don't even allow them to see her. That night Duela hears about her parents visit and thanks to gossip and missinformation ends up beliving her dad is the Joker.

▪️Duella got emancipated at 16 and tries to get her "dad's" attention by comiting crimes under varius villan themed pseudonymus the major one being "the truth".

▪️She succeds. Joker acepts her as a member of the gang because he won't say no to a free henchwoman.

▫️Different from cannon she and Harley have a great relationship. And get even closer when both leave Joker (Harley for her own sake and Duela when in a gang war Two-Face tells her the truth).

▫️Now she wants to became a great villan to show the Joker for humiliating her (and secretly because Harvey never explained why he abandoned her and she wants his aproval).

▫️Harvey wanted to reconect with her and may be cheated in his own coin game so he could try. He is a corny dad and has no idea what he is doing, but bless him he is trying. Duela pretends she doesn't care about him and that she thinks he is lame, but she is secretally really happy he is trying and loves being a daddy's girl.

▪️both want to see Gilda again.

▫️Duella is 18. She lives in Harley Quinn's basement, has a Tik Tok account and loves Death Note, eletronic and emo music.

▫️ She has the gemini symbol tatoo because of Harvey but she lies to people that she is just very into horoscope (insert her friends saying "but you are a sagitarius"). She also has a small harlerquin (for harley duh).

▫️ According to Jason she is "as cringe as Tim".

▫️During the short period between Cass and Tim that Steph was single she and Duela had a Tinder Match.

2. Ethan Cobblepot

▫️His backstory is the same except for the sake of bullying Ignatious Ogilvy is actually Oswald adopted son and so it's Martin (the kid from Gotham). So Oswald actually have two kids he loves and cares about, he just dislikes Ethan for no reason.

▫️He is the most steriotypical sad white rich boy with daddy issues.

▫️Different from cannon (or for what is inferred on cannon cause the art we get on the pannels isn't even that bad) his face is barrely scared he is just a whinny bitch.

▫️His reasons to be the best supervillan are: to be bigger than his father and "sibblings" and because he is simping on Batgirl and can't accept she broke up with him (he blames his "ugly" face).

▫️Duela actualy wanted Ogivly in her team, but he was too big league for them. She them tried Martin, but while he had potencial, he was twelve and she "didn't want a Robin". She never even tried Ethan, he just was stalking Martin and introduced himself as a team member.

▫️He does belive that by being the eldest he should be the team leader. He has a pont but is more because he pays for all their shit and since he is really rich they do have tec that it's just too good for a bunch of C-listers.

▫️He is 24. Has his own company he funded from zero (a word that here means with his father money, a lot of it) and loves minecraft, figthing with Enigma over who is the smartest, texting Barbara and criptocoin. He has his own CobbleCoin.

▫️Texted all the batkids more than once asking them to tell Barbara to unblock him.

▫️No one will ever let Barbara forget she dated him. She is the only one who can't make fun of Stephanie for the Tinder Match or of Damian for dating Lord Death Man kindda daugther because she dated Ethan Cobblepot.

3. Enigma

▫️No one know where did she came from. When asked Ed will be very enigmatic about it but the truth is he also doesn't known.

▪️Kid just appeared in his safe house one day saying she was his daugther. She knew nothing about her biomon, lived in an orphanage and she never explained why she was so sure he was the dad.

▪️So obviasly Ed accepted that must be the truth... nah, he did an DNA test. BUT while this all was happening Ed was on the high of having figure out Batman's identity (and by extension the whole batfam) and wanted to do the same with other super heros, namely Superman. That resulted in a fight with Query and Echo about how Superman was totaly going to kill Eddie (and just him, cause no way they were going to help him figth Superman).

▪️The fight scaleted to them accusing him of having a compulsion with finding answers (he had just accepted his compulsion for riddles he was not accepting another one) and he saying he didn't and he had made all the calculations of how to confront an angry Superman.

▪️So to prove he didn't had a compulsion and therefor was not doing his dumb Superman plot because he stopped taking his meds he destroyed the results of the DNA test. And them had a panic attack because he was in a compulsive episode.

Echo: Calm down, boss, you can take another test.

Riddler: *panicking on the floor*how would I even explain that I need new DNA? why did I even do that? what's wrong with me?

Query: Uh... Actualy I was curious and looked at the results early.

Riddler: *calming a little* and?

Query: Er... congratulations you're a dad?

Riddler: fuck.

*later*

Echo: You did not saw the results at all did you?

Query: Nope. Eddie is too guilable sometimes.

Echo: So why did you said it was positive?

Query: He isn't planing a suicide mission against Superman anymore, is he.

Echo: I love you soo much when you're scheming.

▪️In conclusion Ed thinks he is her dad and that's enough. Is he? Who know? He is her father figure for sure.

▫️Riddler has no idea how to be a dad. He treats her as a friend and spoils her soo much. They also have petty verbal arguments. He will tell everyone about how amazing she is as long as she does anything. He considers her sucesses another reason for why he is the best. And will talk her up at any chance.

▫️She goes by Ella as a civilian name (and El so to not conflict wifh Duela) because Ed absolutly refuses to register her as Enigma Nygma. Not even he is this tacky. She does chooses Ella because she is kindda of a Duela fangirl.

▫️Her reason to join the group was because she has a crush on Duela. She told it was so the world would recognize her superior intellect, but eh, she doesn't care about what dumb people think of her and as long as Ed keeps hypping her up to everyone (because if she is great he is by extension) she is cool. That being said she loves to prove Ethan wrong ever time he says he is the smart one.

▫️She is a bad conspiracy theorist and her conspiracy pall is Bernard. Cue Tim laughing and Ed dying in the background as Enigma and Bernard discuss how that famous pilot Hal Jordan is totaly Batman. Her friendship with Bernard is a bit of a problem to Tim though.

▫️She is fifteen and the group's baby. She is as cringe as her supposed dad with the bonus of being a bad conspiracy theorist and being on the teenage phase were she thinks insulting people/cursing is cool and mature.

▫️She may once have selled Ed's antidepressants as drugs to Ethan and Duela, but on her defence she though her dad was just addicted and that was why he took the pills. He had an episode. It was the only time Query and Echo were pissed with her.

4. Kid Shark

▫️In this universe King Shark isn't dead. Instead he raises his son to lead a more pacefull life than the one he had.

▫️He was raised in Atlantis, with ocassional visists from Aquaman to keep his dad in check. While he dislikes Aquaman, he has to admit he finds his dad other rival - Superboy - to be really cool.

▫️He is mostly a soft zem guy, though he has some anger issues and can enter in very violent rages.

▫️He is 19 (he lives human years and not shark years because of the whole quarter-god thing). He moved to Gotham to apply to college and socialize outside Atlantis. He also wants to figth Superboy one day.

▫️He joined the club because he saw as an opportunity to make friends and get some cash.

▫️Besides being the Strong One, he is definitivaly the Heart of the group being super sweet when not enraged. That being said he sees no value on the lifes of people he doesn't care about and is fine being a vilan.

▫️After seeing Batgirl (Cassandra) fighting he really wants to face her in combat.

🐍Viper in Black Diamond of Legendary Wolf🐺

My DisneyFriend decided to draw a Viper. Why you ask? Well, because if I might have ask her, she compared to other characters in franchise barely has some attention. Which is a shame cause she is a really great character.

Here is her idea of her presentation in my story;

Viper fights along side with furious five, but she is thrown of the cliff facing her own doom. Why her friends didn't help her? Because they were badly injured, yeah even Tigress who is the strongest from them all, and she was the last one standing. But before she could die suddenly a time-crack opens (Le Paradox's fault) and sends her to modern era. Why she didn't return in own era back when time was fixed, that is a secret for now. This was inspired from netlix chinese movie Green Snake. I seperated from others to explore her character on own more. She is trying to find a way home in her own time to her friends, her family, but no luck. She is all alone and devastated, but still keep hope, even a little. Some few years pass and she lives life as non-antropomorphic snake dancer (with fake fakir puppet) to survive, cause of course she is snake and everyone are afraid of snakes. No one knows she is just like Mr. Snake. And despite acting sweet she is cold towards heroes to not make connecrion that would hurt her heart. But people she get to close eventually are Mr. Snake obviously, who first he wouldn't be interested at first (sometimes annoyed with her), until she saves his life from drowning (and technically being kissed by her) and he get flustered until after persuasion admits his feelings towards her (that rescue from drowning/kiss scene was based from another netflix movie Sahara). But the first would be actually Mr. Wolf, who would her cold behaviour is facade that he saw in Mr. Snake and he would help her open up. I kind of imagine their dynamic as mother-son relationship, since Viper is described acting motherly towards her friends)

This is just idea but I find it a bit interesting anyway. I kinda like the picture as well.

(I also decided to edit the Yatagarasu a bit :pp bc i only know abt it thru ace attorney: miles investigations- ya know, Kay? So imma center it abt that-)

So I was planning to make Lily a Yatagarasu, i’ve heard that he was a great thief in Japan (idk if this is tru- cause when i look it up- it showed a three-legged crow-) or in this case Inazuma- and I also want her to have some connections with Cecilia (ya’ll remember her right-?). So this is what I have in mind-

Lily was born in Inazuma, in a rich, powerful family. Her parents were actually ppl that do experiments on children, one of this was Aura (or, as we all know, Cecilia). Lily was never aware of this fact however, since she views her parents as idols. She has two older brothers, of whom she loved dearly.

Her parents weren’t home much so she usually spends time inside her room or with her brothers and servants. Her life was practically perfect until-

Lily was curious on what her parents do so she followed them one day. You can imagine her horror when she found out- her parents soon discovered that their youngest child followed them. Knowing that she would tell everyone, they promptly banished her from Inazuma.

[I also have smth in mind abt banishment. Since her parents are powerful, they must know spells, right? What if they make an enchantment on her that makes her unable to return to Inazuma? Like tatoos. They’ll burn in her skin if she ever gets too close to Inazuma. Just a thought- 👀]

Lily, now frightened and alone, was scared. She didn’t know where to go. So she wandered in the wilderness, gaining injuries and bruises along the way. She only ate what she could. It isn’t until she stumbled upon a village (im not sure abt this part actually but lets wing it-)

The villagers (mINEcRAfT-) took pity on Lily and an elder took her in. There she slowly healed. And its also there where she learned how to fight. Since this villagers were known for their stealth (or ninja) background, they decided to teach it to Lily.

Lily slowly mastered their techniques and such. She learned how to use a polearm (yes, i like polearms- fite me-) and slowly became a master. Through trials and errors of course. She left Inazuma when she was around 5-6, and she arrived at this village when she was around 7 (so she wandered for 1-2 years-). She stayed in the village until she was around 12 or 13 years old.

Her life was completely normal, until a fire broke out and wiped everyone in the village. Everyone but Lily. Devastated, she fled once more. But she now carries the knowledge of the techniques that the village has taught her.

She wandered around once more before arriving to Liyue Harbor (i actually dont know where Inazuma is located but lets just roll with it-). There, she saw how ppl behave. And saw how ppl is having a hard time with money, poverty in short.

Ever since she was young, she was told of the great thief Yatagarasu, who would often steal something and return it. No one knew about their true intent. Then they revealed that their only goal was seeking the “Truth”. After saying that, they took down the malicious ruler (at that era) and made Inazuma a paradise once more. (I’m not sure abt this- hshsh-)

Ever since then, tales about the Yatagarasu has been passed down from generations to generations. Lily always wanted to be like them, to be someone that is fighting for justice and freedom. So, she decided to become the second generation of the Yatagarasu.

Instead of doing what the tale said, she decided to be like Robin Hood and steal from the rich and give it to the poor. Ofc, since she was young and albeit clumsy, she was caught multiple of times. But she was always let out, free of charges. This is bc of Ningguang, who gain a deep respect towards Lily for her actions (i believe she would respect those who wants to help the poor since i read that she suffered from poverty as well-).

News started spreading abt the Yatagarasu, who steals in the night and vanishes in the morning. It spread like wildfire abt the sudden appearance of the Yatagarasu. Lily continued her actions, believing what she’s doing is good. As much time goes on, she soon became a master of stealing things from ppl.

But soon, the ppl in Liyue Harbor protested. They wanted the Yatagarasu to disappear. As much as Ningguang wants her to stay (she pities Lily-), she had no choice but to send her away. Even tho the ppl want to know the identity of the Yatagarasu, Ningguang kept it a secret and manages to calm the ppl in Liyue Harbor.

Now on the run once more, Lily continued to flee (she continued to ran for days-) until she reaches a mansion near the river. Starving, she took some grapes but was caught by a man. This man was none other than the mansion’s owner, Diluc. Diluc noticed her immediately and ask her where she came from.

“Inazuma. But I was banished.” She simply answered. Diluc noticed how thin and frail she look, having not eaten anything ever since she run away from Liyue Harbor (imagine that long trek- yikes-). Diluc decided to take pity on this girl and offered her a place to stay in the mansion, only for a while. In which Lily immediately accepts.

Diluc gave her food and some new clothes. (Her current design is albeit similar to his actually- just wanna point it out bc i want to draw her after this- 🤧) Lily’s pale skin began to glow and the light in her eyes came back. Diluc soon discovers her ninja-like skills when she was trying to reach for the cookies in the cupboards above-

He decided to let her stay in the Dawn Winery, making her his assistant or smth. So now, Diluc has a girl who’s following around, even in Angel’s Share. Many rumors started spreading abt the sudden appearance of Lily and the sudden disappearance of money for the rich ones-

Afterall, the tale of the Yatagarasu continues on- even if she’s not seeking the truth. (Diluc knows abt her Yatagarasu identity btw- 🤧🤧 he basically becomes her older brother-)

She doesn’t have a vision btw, i’m planning on giving her a vision thru the story- 👀 i’m still debating whether or not she’s an Anemo or a Pyro-

Oh my. It’s been a while. But here we go, from what I remember:

Over weeks

Marinette exchanges more emails with crimson.8, trying to set up a meeting with them

Adrien spends more time with Marinette, since she is in a bit of a crisis with the soulmate situation. He realizes he likes her very much.

Chloé and Sabrina's friendship seems to collapse

Adrien notices that Chloé is acting weird, and wears enough bling on her wrist to hide half her palm, AND makeup underneath. So he suspects she got her mark at roughly the same time as Marinette

Marinette investigates Nathanaël, who is acting weird around her.

Adrien catches his father and Nathalie acting like VERY GOOD FRIENDS, standing close to each other to talk, with Nathalie's hand brushing Gabriel's cheek and things like that. I am gabenath filth.

Eventually, the plot thickens.

Marinette sets up a meeting with Crimson 8 at the park, which Chat decides to spy on just to make sure she is safe. Crimson 8 does not show up, but Nathalie does, telling Marinette she is looking for Adrien. Gabriel arrives a bit later to fetch Nathalie. Crimson 8 sends an email to Marinette saying he had an emergency and could not come.

Nathanaël admits to Marinette that he saw her mark and figured out who she was, and that he won't tell anyone. But he is not Crimson 8.

Chloé admits to Adrien that her soul mark is a diamond, and that her soulmate is Sabrina (because diamonds are a girl's best friend). Sabrina noped out because she realized that living the rest of her life with Chloé and her behaviour was not acceptable.

Newspapers imply that Nathalie and Gabriel are soulmates after a paparazzi with a drone takes a picture of them kissing, and it ends up in tabloids.

Then we get to the end:

Marinette sets up another appointment with Crimson 8, who promises he will be there. She tells her friends, and Alya and the girls wait nearby the place to see if it all goes well, while Chat spies from a rooftop.

It turns out they were very right to watch, because it's Volpina who shows up, and kidnaps Marinette, using an illusion to make the others believe Marinette is talking to some teenage boy.

Alya spots Volpina dashing away with the true Marinette, and raises the alarm. Chat gives chases.

Meawhile, Volpina has taken Marinette to a secluded location and tied her up, and is taunting her about how Ladybug will HAVE to come rescue her "soulmate" and surrender her Miraculous. Chat comes to beat her up.

While Chat is busy fighting Volpina outside and much to Marinette's horror, Hawk Moth joins her in the hideout. And instead of talking about "Ladybug, your soulmate", his first words are "Checkmate, Ladybug," as he goes straight for her earrings.

Marinette is not an idiot, so she is NOT wearing the Miraculous, but plain plastic earrings. So Hawk Moth is about to have a fit of rage and great villain soliloquy, but Chat is done with Volpina and kicks him in the face. He frees Marinette, who runs away and gets her Miraculous out of her shoe so she can transform and go kick some supervillain ass.

Once Volpina is deakumatized and Hawk Moth forced to retreat, Ladybug hurries to go detransform and cower behind shrubbery as Marinette. Then she waits for Chat to retrieve her.

As she exits the bushes, she bumps into Nathalie, who was, for some totally non suspicious reason, cowering behind a tree, in the middle of a workday, streets away from her workplace. Nathalie leaves in a hurry.

Marinette thanks Chat for the rescue. And he answers "Thanks for lending me a paw" so she can figure out he knows her secret by now.

When she checks her phone, she discovers messages from Crimson 8 asking her, in order:

where she is

if she knows that Chat Noir is in a fight with an Akuma

If she is okay

She doesn't answer, pretty suspicious about Crimson8 by that point.

She ask a little chat with Tikki about the soul marks and how they work.

Now.

I must remind you that the Kwami (especially Nooroo) are NOT fans of the 'soul marks' and think it's the work of an idiotic god with too much pride.

Nobody is entirely sure how it works. Nobody knows which god started the damn thing.

So Tikki admits that there is no way to be certain that it is triggered by "love", because *of course* if someone believes someone else is their soulmate, they will make every effort possible to have a good relationship.

Which leaves Marinette wondering if she is bound to Hawk Moth. Marinette is a smart cookie.

Meawhile, Adrien goes home and hears Nathalie and Gabriel argue loudly in Gabriel's office, something like "You took things too far" from Nathalie and Gabriel arguing back louder. So he runs off to his bedroom and waits for the storm to pass.

When he comes back downstairs after things have calmed down, he finds Nathalie with her arms wrapped around Gabriel. Both of the idiotics grownup jump away, make lame excuses and run away in separate directions. Adrien is like "I SHIP IT".

Two days go by.

Crimson8 emails Marinette again, telling her that "Obviously, this whole soul mark business is not going to work out," and that he is getting a dark tatoo sleeve to hide the mark so it cannot cause problems anymore. He wishes her "a lot of happiness with much more suited partner Chat Noir". She goes scarlet at that comment, but is quickly distrated by the feeling of tattoo needles stabbing her hand.

Chloe and Sabrina somewhat make up.

Gabriel admits to Adrien that he is considering dating Nathalie.

Chat Noir visits Marinette's balcony and asks her on a date be cause he really, really likes her in all shapes and forms by that point.

Adrien never gets a soulmark. He doesn't care. He found his soulmate just fine on his own.

The end.

Notes:

The fic is a subversion of the soulmates trope, based on the fact that everyone assumes that the mark means people are bound by “true love”, and conform to that because of societal pressure. 

What it actually does is mark people who are bound by fate. So, of course, Ladybug ended up bound to her supervillain nemesis, who is kind of an important character in her personal story.

THE DUCK AVENGER PK2: #16 SOLDIERS OF FORTUNE

After the previous issue, which gave answers to several of the questions driving this story arc, gave brand new insight to the Ducklair family, set up a very personal enemy, kickstarted the final arc of this story and possibly changed the relationship between various characters forever, this issue, wait for it… ignores all of that for shenanigans in space!

AKA “Who the fuck thought it was a good idea for this issue to go here?”

Angus tries to steal Everett’s parking spot, and Everett’s driver shoves his car out of the way. With his own car. This motivates Angus to try and dig up some dirt on Everett, but that’s interrupted by weird noises and a small earthquake coming from above.

It’s a spaceship. Right above Ducklair Tower.

Everett, who should be kind of paranoid about that sort of thing, haven’t noticed, because his office is isolated from external influences. Brilliant idea, clearly. When Birgit tells him, he goes and activates some hidden security measures, just in case. The ship doesn’t look Coronian, but you never know.

Angus, having found himself a spot on the sidewalk, starts reporting, wondering if they’ve finally discovered Everett’s secrets. So close! And yet, no.

At home, Donald catches Angus’s broadcast, and immediately recognizes the spaceship. It’s Lady Elenthari. From all the way back to PKNA #27, Mastiffs of the Universe.

The Duck Avenger goes to investigate, causing a fight between Angus, who wants to blame it on Everett, and Geena Onair, who wants to blame it on the Avenger.

The Avenger goes inside Elenthari, which then takes off again, and is greeted by sergeant Q’Wykenon. Remember the robot?

Turns out Neopard isn’t there. 

Maybe be a bit careful about this? This guy wasn’t exactly honest last time.

He’s busy fighting a small war, which got complicated. Enough so that he’s sent for the Avenger to come help, and helpfully left a holorecording to explain everything. 

Come help, bring lots of weapons.

Unfortunately, that’s not an option, since the Avenger no longer has access to the insane number of weapons he used to. Therefore Avenger decides to stop off at Q’Wyn’s planet to get something better than the Duckmobile, before going to help Neopard.

While this is going on, Neopard is outnumbered, outgunned, but luckily, manages to find a fortified location to hide in.

Subtle.

He decides to explain the situation to the audience his robots, for some strange reason. The Cosmining Company had the place built by the omniversal Goompah Contruction Sites, and then decided that Goompha having gone over budged, allegedly, they could keep it without paying. The Goompha disagreed, and here they are.

Omniversal? That’s quite a claim.

The Avenger and Q’Wyn arrives at the right planet, called Armadha, get it, they’re greeted by a friend of Neopard, who is rather skeptical at first about this stranger on Neopard’s ship.

Also, it turns out that “Neopard” is a battle name (wow, I can’t believe this is what comes back later) and Neopard’s real name is Groft van Moor.

After the not-so friendly welcome, everyone seems to be more or less friendly. The Avenger gets invited to a drink, learning a few facts about the place. Like how the only thing they export is mercenaries, because the planet has nothing else to offer. On the bright side, living there makes you well-suited for dangerous work.

The Avenger decides it’s time to go shopping, but of course Neopard didn’t give him any cash, since this was the Avenger’s own idea. Luckily, there’s still one place to go, Darkstep Valley. 

Neopard’s friend explains the way, and the Avenger takes the Duckmobile to get there. Turns out he should have taken public transport.

How does this place not have lots of extreme sport tourists? Fire desert, ice desert, sure this must appeal to the kind of people who, IDK, climb deadly mountains or some stuff like that?

Neopard is still in trouble, and now his robots are failing.

Darkstep Valley turns out to be less a valley and more a giant mall. 

A drive-in mall.

Of weapons. Very expensive weapons. Eventually, the Avenger gets sent to Honest Kruth, so he’s about to get swindled.

Kruth’s full name turns out to be Kruth van Moor, but the Avenger doesn’t seem to notice. Kruth is happy to try and sell the Avenger various weapons, though most of them doesn’t seem very useful, but when the issue of payment comes up, he loses interest as the Avenger still can’t pay.

Until he sees the Duckmobile.

The man is nicknamed “honest”. He might as well have “do not trust” tatooed on his forehead.

It’s worth nothing, of course, except to a collector, but maybe they can make a trade. The Avenger says no, and Kruth is thrilled. Apparently, he really likes to bargain. He takes to Avenger to show him something really special, but only as long as Q’Wyn stays behind. Can’t have the robot call him out on his crap take photos of the top-secret weapon.

The Avenger agrees to the deal, because of course he does.

Neopard is still fighting, but jumps out of his battlesuit when Lady Elenthari comes in for landing.

Turns out it was a trick. 

Oh, good, they know each other.

Captain Alyoness takes him captive, and they banter a bit as the real Elenthari comes into orbit.

Girlfriend or wife?

Q’Wyn is just finishing installing a translation card, so the Avenger can understand him., in case the Avenger needs tactical advice. The Avenger doesn’t think so, after all, he made such a good deal. I swear, his IQ has dropped in this issue.

Neopard and Alyonesse are still bantering when they notice the Lady Elenthari.

Alyonesse is rather confused as to why Q’Wyn would take Elenthari down in the most fortified place on the planetoid, but Neopard brags about his brave terrestrial ally. She leaves him behind to deal with this, and he is clearly up to something, but we cut away to the Avenger before we can see what.

The Avenger, faced with a bunch of soldiers decide to unleash the superweapon.

How exactly did that get on board the ship without Q’Wyn seeing it?

It looks good, to people with no clue, but as a very frustrated Q’Wyn explains, it’s not a battlemachine, it’s a “wreckotronic dynodozer”, meant to clean up after really big disasters. The kind where you gather up the still useful stuff and demolish everything else.

On the other hand, it’s also pretty much unstoppable.

The enemy soldiers try to stop it anyway, leaving them distracted to the Avenger and Q’Wyn can go occupy the center. Thanks to the dynodozer, they don’t even have to work very hard to get it, as it destroyed the walls.

Neopard, meanwhile, has reprogrammed Alyonesse’s robots, and now they work for him. He takes her captive and claims he’s won. She disagrees and tells him to look at what the Avenger has done. Neopard does and decides it’s time to notify the clients.

Whatever it is, it’s long term.

The Avenger gets ready to set up an exchange for Neopard, but Neopard walks in and tells him that’s not necessary.

Could be.

Neopard does admit having been lying a little, but he was captured soon after for real anyway. So the Avenger did arrive just in time and thanks to him they lost.

Short version, both sides wanted the planetoid intact, but when the Avenger destroyed it, it became nothing but a waste of money to keep fighting over it. And since Neopard wasn’t defeated, but his bosses surrendered, that mean Neopard gets paid anyway. And so does Alyonesse, because she won.

What a reasonable system. We should get on this.

The Avenger thinks he should get something too, but since he doesn’t have a contract, he doesn’t get paid. He even lost the Duckmobile, so it sucks to be him.

Not as much as it could have though. Neopard might be a greedy liar, but he also values a good ally, and just so happens to be related to Honest Kruth and can make him give the Duckmobile back by threatening him with angry clan elders.  

You don’t swindle family, it just makes everyone unhappy.  

The Avenger gets the car back, and Neopard buys him a box of obsolete weapons. Obsolete to them, to the Avenger and against his Earth-based opponents,  however, they might be quite useful.  

The Avenger tells them thanks and goodbye, not wanting to hold Neopard and Alyonesse away from their next battles. They’re not overly concerned, they’re planning on taking a vacation in a five star system. The Avenger is surprised they’d go together, and Alyonesse asks what’s weird about that.

Neopard apologizes, having forgotten to inrduce them properly.

Duck Avenger, meet Lady Elenthari Lleyr Dalagh, AKA the girlfriend. Cute that Neopard named his ship after his girlfriend.

The Avenger takes off, he’s got work in the morning. He can’t resist checking out what’s in the box first though.

Century kind of explodes. It’s an old, sturdy building though, so it’s mostly the windows that suffer.

At work, Bloom seems to have finally had it with Donald not showing up for work, when Donald finally does show up.

Mostly the windows.

I don’t like this one, it relies way too much on “haha, the Avenger is dumb”, when it could have relied on “the Avenger is in completely unfamilar territory” and it really, really doesn’t belong in the qudrilogy. As a breather before that, sure, but I think the quadrilogy needed this issue to build from the previous one to the next, because this series was cancelled and had to finish up fast, right? Well, in the next two issues, for all that I like them, it kinda shows.

I really don't like Alvar with that eye monicle thing - it makes him look so creepy to me! Great scene though!

I have to confess that I don’t like it either. But the monocle, along with the top hat, the cape, the cravat, even the beard, are the things Alvar currently hides underneath -- hides his feelings, hides his doubts, hides his sadness, his traumas --, as well as being the items he needs to impersonate the role he still isn’t comfortable in -- that of Lord Phallihurst, 4th Earl of Mentoolshire.  

It was also a way of differentiating the young Alvar we see in college and the grown up Alvar, more than 10 years later.

That was my try and take on the blast injuries caused by the mine explosion that crippled Alvar and killed his cousin Frederic. They are actually bird tattoos, that I’ve described as “the distinctive tiny craters left on the otherwise fine, pale skin, by the mine explosion, which had also burned the tissue delineating his master’s still desirable biceps “. Simprovisation!

I bet Tobio wishes to lay his hands again on Alvar, but now that they are adults, I don’t think it’s going to happen. I might be wrong, though...

I might have given the impression, when Alvar says “We won’t be needing it anymore…” that Apollo Tim has just passed away... But what I meant is that there is no reason anymore to place a cloth to hide boy’s crotch, since they are indoors now... That’s what then enrages Tobio!

Light beams are always a pretty addition to the scenes, but I have to control myself otherwise I’m always trying to find an excuse to insert them...

Yes, Tobio is a widower and a father -- and I wanted to introduce this before his sex scene with Alvar, that comes in a flashback from their youth, to actually complicate things, and perhaps make the character less linear :)

But I would look him in the eye and say "Acting all innocent, licking your hand and hitting the target? YEAH YOU KNOW!" and Alvar would blush and look away because he would agree with my name for him :D :D

Alvar probably needs someone in his life to make him blush and lose his phlegm, especially now that he is an Earl in all his composure -- I really have to consider that and introduce such a character in the story!

I’d say it has never stopped -- sex was a rather brief interlude, a moment of losing his head that will have its consequences for the rest of his life... We’ll see more of Tobio in Chapter 3.

It’s an acute observation that you wrote above! In reference to Alvar and Tobio, though, this is just the closing of their sex scene, but not the closing of the chapter yet, and I hope to satisfactorily summarize their different reactions to what has just happened to them, perceptions that change even over the time -- but the fact is, they are still together, somehow, ten years later.

I’m sorry, dear. This was a licentia poetica (poetic license in English?). Freddie is so blond, so beautiful, so tanned, so intense, so bright, so... solar, do you understand now what I meant? He is also nicknamed Phoebus,  meaning shining, radiant, bright in Greek, as I have already mentioned in his first appearance. 

Maybe I’ll edit this post and add his nickname, that is actually an epithet for Apollo (the god, not the character). A bit confusing still, is it?

Sad indeed, but also quite cliche from me, isn’t it? This has been happening to people from the dawn of humanity, I’d say... Lots of sex, fleetingly satisfying, while love remains quite more rare, and often detached from sex, or sex happening without affection. 

At the same time, for all I have commented in other replies, love at first sight was never a possibility between Alvar and Tobio.

Anyhow, he doesn’t seem to be violent as a young man (though the war might change that in him), so Alvar has nothing to fear for now -- except, perhaps, a slap (on the face, not on his butt, or it might get things going again). A slap that comes indeed, in the form of words.

Maybe it's just to me, but Alvar seemed much more of an evanescent young man, a dreamer, all in all, a little boy in his college years. I like the contrast with the strong, very manly version of himself all these years later. After the war and all its horrors, I wonder if there's still room for the little boy inside him ? He's quite an intriguing character :)

You’ve been doing that since The Last Canvas, and it says a lot about you as a writer and a reader and probably as a person, too.

I did want to stress this contrast between 19 yo Alvar and him at 31 yo (I guess somewhere around that age, at least), just as you have perceived it.

But of course, this is not the only development arch this character will cover. 

I’d say there is no room at all for the little boy inside him at the moment. But, after some struggle at Pennington Park (Chapter 1), Alvar opened space for the ‘little boy’ (Apollo Jim) he is now carrying in his arms -- and how that will affect him is what we will see throughout the story. 

While in the sex scene Alvar was referred to as ‘boy’, in the scenes of the present, Apollo Tim is ‘the boy’, so that’s another change of perspective over time.

And, of course, we still don’t know why Alvar decided to rescue the boy, though I’m sure an idea is forming in some reader’s minds...

NAME: Sirius Orion Black

GENDER, PRONOUNS, and SEXUALITY: Male/he/him – Sirius had spent most of his adolescence too busy trying to have a good time and frustrating his mother to ever stop and think of sexual attraction. His heart is very much guarded and his head has always been on pranks and friends to the point that he was behind the majority of his peers in terms of romantic and sexual maturation. He never denied the rumors, and if you asked anyone other than the Marauders and possibly McGonagall (he still doesn’t know how that woman always manages to see through him) they would likely tell you a he-said-she-said going on for over half an hour of his endeavors. Truthfully Sirius is a virgin with no clue where his attraction lies and he isn’t sure he’s ready to find out.

BLOOD STATUS: Pureblood. Sirius struggles to recall a time his blood status was not the focal point of his identity and the harder he pushed away, the stronger it clung to him. From the day he was born he was never Sirius– but the Black family heir. The one who would inherit the family fortune, carry on the name of the most noble and ancient. As he grew older he became the rebel, the disgrace to the 28 who was only headed for trouble and needed to be set straight. His own housemates saw him as nothing more than a overly-privileged pureblooded brat who wanted to play like he was one of them for a while. He had truly thought he escaped the stereotypes of a member of the Sacred 28 when he’d been disowned, forced to be a burden on his best friend and start an entirely new life, but even still he heard it. That Black kid got what was coming to him, nothing but a spoiled brat who didn’t know how good he had it until it was gone.

HOUSE ALUMNI: Gryffindor. Sirius is not afraid of anything in this world more than what he would be if it were not for this house. For the first time in his life he understood the difference between a house and a home. He made friends, felt cared for, and was free to be himself entirely without fear of extreme retributions.

PERSONALITY:

No matter how hard he tries to display otherwise, certain aspects of Sirius have always screamed the privilege of a pureblooded wizard, and while that wasn’t always a bad thing, in the middle of a war over rights it was hard for any of his acquaintances to see it in a positive light. The sense of entitlement was obvious to those who were raised differently than him, although may be more difficult to spot by his fellow purebloods. Sirius has only had one thing he truly wanted and wasn’t granted– the acceptance of his family. Even after all these years he is still in denial, pushing at every turn to gain their anger because it’s easier than to admit he secretly wants their affections. Now for the second time he isn’t getting his way, his time with the friends who have been more of a family to him than his blood ever had is spacing out more by the day and he is unsure of how to cope. Sirius has always been impulsive, when the stress and anxiety gets too much to bear he lashes out, acts up and can forget it isn’t always his own safety he is putting at risk. After that day at the willow- he’s refused to call it a prank since it happened- he has tried to put more thoughts into his actions but quite often even still, his racing thoughts take over.

His entitlement doesn’t make him a bad person, it just takes a lot more effort to get Sirius to allow a person to see past the barriers he has put around himself. He wants the people around him to see a blank expression, an uncaring bad-boy, because if he doesn’t care he can’t be hurt again. It takes a lot to get past those coping mechanisms, even more to earn his trust but if you get there Sirius Black is loyal to a fault. His life and well being means nothing more than to be there for the people he loves and he would lose everything to keep them safe and happy. He prefers to take care of people in a more sneaky way, as a child he would take the blame for a mistake his brother made, or cause even more of a stir to get the attention on himself. He was the one to take the detentions and say they never got caught, or lie and say he needed a night in when he knew one of his friends needed a break. It is easy to see Sirius as nothing more than another pompous asshole but for those who take the time to truly get to know him he’s a secret softy with a lot of love to give.

Sirius Black has a bark bigger than his bite and will try and scare you away until he finally gives up and snuggles up in your lap, getting fur all over your favorite sweater.

BRIEF OVERVIEW OF FAMILY:

Being one of the Most Noble and Ancient House of Black was a full time job. The Blacks were an old, wealthy family and looked up to as the pinnacle of pureblood society. As the heir to such a prominent name and fortune, every small move Sirius made was on alert. From the time he was an infant he was expected to hold and share these values with the rest of society and his affection was based entirely on what he could do for his family. When his robes were sloppy from trying to keep up with Bella he was a disgrace, punished heavily and it was extremely confusing to such a young mind. If he was supposed to be better than everyone in the room simply for being a Black, how was he also an abomination? It was stressful and anxiety inducing, but all Sirius wanted was to please his mother. After hours of talking to his father’s boring stuffy friends, he couldn’t help but run around for a few hours, or take a fly around the garden. He didn’t try to get himself into trouble- he just needed to move. He did slowly learn that his mother’s love was never truly in his reach, not for sale at all and decided to stop fooling himself. The panic, the tears, none of it was worth fighting for the kindness he would never receive.

He remembered the uncle who no one spoke of anymore, knew just how real the threats of completely being removed from the family for not fitting in were. But for some reason it just made Sirius rebell more– cling to the second family he had made for himself in a small group of Gryffindor boys.

Still, when the options was laid in front of him he had not said no immediately.  The Dark Lord needed a spy in the school and offered Sirius for what his parents considered the highest of honors. Choose this now, and his entire past would be forgiven, he would be the son his mother always wanted. The favorite child once again. Regulus might be free to live a life outside of the war, outside of the Death Eaters and it would all be because of Sirius. Or he could run away, disappear in the night and lose the only family he had ever known for the chance of getting away. He knew he would never really have fought for Voldemort, for anyone who believed the awful things his parents were constantly rattling off like a gaggle of trained clones. But he had been tempted for the briefest moment. He thinks about it still while he wonders if he could ever duel his baby brother, his cousins. He thinks about how easy it was to send Snape off to that Willow when he knew just how dangerous it would be. Should he really be a part of the Order or will he always be nothing more than another narrow-minded, privileged Black just without all the money?

OCCUPATION:

Tattoo Artist at Markus Scarrs Indelible Tattoo Parlor. Sirius working in Knockturn Alley absolutely turned a few heads, but he had always enjoyed the attention, good or bad he always had been drawn to other people talking about him. He had transfigured himself a sketch pad third year and art had become an outlet he never thought he would obtain. It was like a diary– his deepest thoughts and fears laid out in that book and when he had the opportunity to use art to pay his rent he was fairly excited for the opportunity. Besides, Sirius knows what kind of people linger around Knockturn Alley. Not often anyone high enough to know the most inner workings of Voldemort’s ranks, but if he could just hear confirmation that Reg is alive- it would be worth every hour in that shop.

ROLE WITHIN THE ORDER/THOUGHTS ABOUT THE ORDER:

After spending seven years as a close-knit gang of teenage boys, coming up with nicknames and wreaking havoc on Hogwarts’ ground and staff- Sirius had not been ready to give it up. The rush of the Marauders made him feel something besides the panic of never being good enough for the first time in his life and the Order seemed to be a bigger and better version of this, but this time with a purpose. Coming in Sirius got a kick out of the meetings, knowing how his mother would disapprove and putting his money where his mouth is to prove to every person who ever told him he would never be anything more than another privileged pureblood.

The realities of war are starting to hit in a way that made Sirius wonder if he had ever truly been as progressive as he liked to think he was. He’s slowly realizing the danger that the people he cares about are in, and just how wrong what is happening is and he’s starting to really fight for a cause rather than trying to cause as much trouble as he can while he’s young and alive. But it’s still all centered around himself and his own world. Sirius wants to fight for his friends safety. Get this war over with so he does not have to deal with any more loss.

SURVIVAL:

Sirius had always been blessed with the fact that everything he has done has come to him with ease, including his dueling skills. The issue with this is he is now fighting others with that same ability, and not all of them have the nostalgia of being his blood relative. Sirius had been doing something he has struggled with his entire life- laying low. He knew how the minds of these Death Eaters work, and the lese pure blood they had to spill the better. He needed to keep his name away from their inner circles and go from apartment to apartment, hoping for the best.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Romantic relationships are not on the top of Sirius’ mind at the moment, he is too busy clinging onto his friendships with a harsh fear of separation between them all. The less time Sirius has had with his friends, the more he’s clung to them and is at the point where he’s nervous he’ll start to push them away as well. It’s all he’s good at really, letting down the people he loves.

WHAT PRIVILEGES AND BIASES DOES YOUR CHARACTER HAVE?

The most obvious is the fact that Sirius is a Black. Blown off the family tree or not he grew up in a life of luxury; house elves doing all of his chores and having never gone wanting for anything materialistic. He was safe from any of the harassment or now life endangerment being faced by others and would never have had to worry if it weren’t for his involvement in the Order. Sirius grew up with a silver spoon. Growing up in a house where muggleborns being lesser than himself, he has developed a mentality that they are likely lesser than him aside from the rare exception. Of course they should be just as welcomed and treated with the same respect as purebloods but they hadn’t grown up in the way Sirius had. Muggleborns don’t understand their world the way he does.

Additionally, if anyone else had endangered two students lives the way Sirius had by sending Snape to the Willow, they would have been lucky to only be expelled. But Sirius was a Black. He was a Black with good grades and a future and who knows where he would be if he was sent out of Hogwarts and off to a new school so he got away with a slap on the wrist.

He wants to come across progressive, but there are some biases he has never even thought to question. Sirius doesn’t want to believe Remus is the spy. He’s his brother in all ways that matter and Sirius really does not want to believe Remus could sell them out because he’s a werewolf. There is no thought of werewolves are people and some are good and some are bad. Instead he’s facing thoughts of please do not let another person he considers family turn to dark because he will always love Remus but his betrayal would prove that werewolves are inherently bad.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO?

This roleplay drips with the aesthetic of a community that has been widely dropped off. Para centered rp has been hard to find recently in favor of gifs and face claims that fit our favorite television characters. While I love seeing a ship from other fandoms converted into the Potter universe, a place where writing and world building are the prime focus is simply tempting. So much seems to have gone into every aspect of this role play it has brought out my muse in ways that a rp hasn’t in a long time.
