& - - With suspicion around every corner and talks of a spy in their ranks, the members of the Order of the Phoenix must choose where their loyalties lie. They have been fighting in this war for years and there is no end in sight – they are tired, worn down, and can’t tell who is friend and foe. One thing is for sure - you don’t know who you truly are until you’re staring at the end of a wand. MN.

THE END.
Those who survived found one another at the House of Bones after Lord Voldemort’s demise. They discussed the changes to the souls of the people affected, realizing that they would have to live like this the rest of their lives. They catalogued the dead, including Peter Pettigrew, who was outed as a Death Eater but died a hero. They saw their enemies rounded-up and put on trial and they rejoiced at the friends who’d survived and remembered those who hadn’t. Together, the Order of the Phoenix celebrated and mourned and wondered what came next.
In the end, the war was over and life had begun.
But... what does life mean without war?
DETAILS.
This is the end of the roleplay. We are so happy to have been able to take this journey with you. Homenum Revelio was truly a special experience.
These characters are yours to do with what you will. Feel free to continue threads, start new ones, summarize the ending of the event. The main will no longer be active or posting new events but your own stories never end.
And finally... thank you. All is well.

THE SOUL OF LORD VOLDEMORT.
Lord Voldemort thought himself safe. That was why he chose now to abandon his campaign of subtlety and secrecy in favor of open war. He had finally forged his sixth and final Horcrux, so what could the Ministry of Magic hope to do to him? What could the Order of the Phoenix do? He was immortal - or so he thought.
But Lord Voldemort underestimated people. Surely, no one but he was clever enough to discover the existence of his Horcruxes! He did not anticipate the cleverness of others. He did not anticipate Regulus Black. He believed the boy to be dead, after all. A coward in his own destruction - someone who could not handle the power of Lord Voldemort.
As it turned out, the Horcrux that Regulus had found was only one piece of the puzzle. What he needed to discover was how to find the others. It wasn’t until Sirius Black mentioned the orb and how the dark object was able to kill 100 Muggles in a single night that Regulus realized there might be more than one way - perhaps the Horcruxes could be destroyed without even finding them at all.
He waited; listening in on conversations, learning about the orb, reading about the attack. And, when the battle broke out at the Ministry of Magic, he knew it would be his chance. Regulus moved to the House of Bones and found the orb and activated it using the magic that the Dark Lord himself had taught him.
Instead of setting its sights on Muggles, however, he selected the target as bits of Voldemort’s soul. He used the locket he had retrieved from the cave that nearly killed him as a focus, and tuned the orb to seek-out the rest. When Regulus triggered the spell, it destroyed the Horcruxes in their locations all over the Wizarding World - and the seventh and final piece as well, the one still residing in the Dark Lord himself.
Those at the Ministry who were brave or unfortunate enough to be in the presence of Lord Voldemort as he unleashed his destructive powers in the battle watched as the final piece disintegrated, though no one there could tell how.
At the same time, wix across Britain felt themselves change. As though a piece of them had suddenly... left. Their bodies, their minds, their soul altered forever. Soon, it would be discovered that Regulus’ ploy with the orb did its trick, but with a nasty consequence.
Those who had been touched by Voldemort’s magic were affected, too. A piece of them was taken from this world as the final piece of him died. Not just his Death Eaters, who were wracked with agony as their Dark Marks burned icy-hot against their skin and deep into their bones, but all those who had ever fallen victim to his dark magicks.
They would survive - the soul could be split into seven, after all; Voldemort had proved that much, even if it had ultimately been his downfall. Losing a single piece was far from fatal. But a body without a piece of its soul... is that worth the life left over?
DETAILS.
The battle is over. The war has been won.
Those who have had their character face-to-face with Lord Voldemort (either during the game or prior to it starting) would have had a piece of their soul sucked from their body and obliterated. How would this affect them?
This remaining portion of the event will last only two weeks in real time.
THINGS TO CONSIDER.
Have your characters finish up any final battles they’re a part of - just because Voldemort is dead does not mean all Death Eaters will give up! It will take time for word of his demise to travel.
Characters might think to gather back at the House of Bones.
There will be one more event post to finalize the game. At that time, we will be able to finish up any threads and the game will come to a formal end.

A DEADLY LIST.
On March 21, 1982, the shops and street of Diagon Alley was left in flames and rubble by a DEATH EATER attack. Suddenly, and only in tragic (and in the case of Florean Fortescue, fatal) retrospect, the import of the map and list of dates that had been found by Artem Tremblay, Maurice Creevey, and Amos Diggory in the Rosier Estate during the Order’s ill-fated mission there the month before, became clear.
The Order was not going to let themselves be caught flat-footed again.
The next date on the list was APRIL 19 and since they didn’t have enough information to ascertain which location would be targeted, they sent people to guard all of them. When the Death Eaters came, the Order was ready.
Voldemort’s people were not expecting to have the tables turned on them. When their planned assault GRINGOTTS turned into a ambush with the ORDER OF THE PHOENIX already there, braced for a fight, panic and confusion resulted in a rout.
AN ATTACK REBUFFED.
The Death Eaters fled...for the most part. VINCENT GOYLE, ALECTO CARROW, and BRIGHTON GREENGRASS did not.
Goyle died at EMMA VANITY’s wand (a bit of a surprise all around, since no one in the Order had suspect him to be one of the faces under those silver masks, nor was Emma particularly known for her martial prowess). Carrow and Greengrass were exposed and arrested by the “timely” arrival of Aurors ALICE and FRANK LONGBOTTOM (members of the Order themselves, although they neglected to include that information in their write-up of the event, saying instead that they had been “coincidentally” in the area when they noticed the disturbance and rushed to the scene - when in reality, they had been summoned from their own assigned posts by the patronus of AMELIA BONES).
Greengrass had too much influence with the Ministry of Magic (and too much gold in the family coffers) to get anything but a slap on the wrist after insisting that he’d been Imperiused by an “unknown Death Eater” into assisting with the attack - but Carrow was not so lucky (or privileged) and was carted-off to Azkaban.
It wasn’t the paradigm-shifting mass defeat that some among the Order had hoped for - but three down wasn’t bad for a day’s work, either, especially with no corresponding losses on the Order’s side.
Not even CARADOC DEARBORN could find fault with the results, although BRANWEN YAXLEY did earn herself some suspicious looks when she turned-up after the fight with blood on her hands and no explanations...
But it was a victory. And that was what mattered.
AN ORDER REKINDLED.
After the grim losses so recently suffered, a win was a welcome change for the Order. Spirits were revitalized and new plans were implemented. The radio broadcasts went on again; the refugees continued to be shuttled to safety; their research into the orb and necklace they’d confiscated and the dead bodies they’d uncovered proceeded apace. For the first time in years, it felt as though maybe they were actually winning...
Little did they know that this victory would also spark their enemy to take action...

THE LAST CHANCE.
Shortly after ten on the morning of May 2, 1982 a silvery doe arrives at the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix. The unfamiliar patronus speaks in the unmistakable voice of SEVERUS SNAPE, warning the Order that Lord Voldemort has launched an all-out assault on the Ministry of Magic. This coup is intended to be his final salvo in his war, sidestepping the opposition of Dumbledore’s Order of the Phoenix by cutting straight to the heart of Wixen England.
That message is the last act of the spy. Severus knows that revealing his true loyalty will mean his life, but he also knows that if the Order is to have any chance of stopping Voldemort from seizing full control of the magical world, they must act NOW.
The warning cuts-off mid-word, the patronus evaporating as its caster falls, but Severus said enough. The Order knows.
THE END BEGINS.
Those members of the Order of the Phoenix who can gather themselves quickly head to the Ministry of Magic with all haste, knowing that if Voldemort and his DEATH EATERS can seize control of the great and ancient magicks over which the Ministry has dominion, the war will effectively be over. There is no time to plan; there is only time to react, to fight.
The Death Eaters are equally desperate, if more prepared: they are gambling everything on this attack. They are EXPOSED now, the final veneer of societal acceptability tossed aside to show the rotten heart within; the silver shield of secrecy no longer strong enough to hide them. They win today...or they lose. Forever.
It all comes down to this.
DETAILS.
The admins will NOT be assigning para-partners for this event. Since the Order has no chance to prepare, we want to echo that sense of CHAOS - and to give you all free reign for our final major game event!
Characters who work at the Ministry were likely there when the attack began; characters who were at headquarters would have heard about it either directly from Snape’s patronus or from their fellows as they quickly gathered their forces and raced to battle; characters who were elsewhere could be summoned to the fight by messages from those Order members who do know...however you would like to get your character there, and in whatever company you would like them to come, feel free!
If you are having trouble figuring out how to get your character involved, please reach out! The admins are, as always, here to help.
If you have not yet posted your headcanon for any character(s) of yours who will not be involved in the FINAL BATTLE, please do so as soon as possible! What happened to them in the intervening months that causes their absence now? Did they leave the Order? Did they flee the country? Did they die? The possibilities are endless...and the choice is yours!

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT .011
At various times the admins will post a character development post. This is completely optional - just a chance for players to expand their character and build them more into the roleplay. It will count towards activity. You can find all previously posted character development posts here. Feel free to answer any retroactively as well!
We are about to begin the END OF THE WAR here at Homenum Revelio - and to do that in a prompt and easy fashion, we are going to be jumping the dash ahead to the beginning of May. This interval will hopefully provide enough of a gap for players to bridge their characters from where they are now to where you want them to be then - whether in terms of development, location, relationship, allegiance, etc.
Now the question becomes...how did they get there?
You can write this as a headcanon, a diary entry, a Daily Prophet article - whatever strikes your fancy! Feel free to confer with your fellows and coordinate any character progressions (or regressions) or connections that you want! Maybe this is your farewell if your character isn’t going to make it all the way to the end alongside the Order - or maybe it’s just a speedwalk through their penultimate arc. Because the end draws near...
*If you have a character(s) who is not going to be involved in the endgame event, please make a special effort to answer this character development prompt in order to explain why they are not there!

We all know that body language can say a lot about a person -- and that’s true whether they’re moving or stationary. So how does your character sit?

After discussion with our players, the admins of Homenum Revelio have decided to initiate our final stage of the game: THE END OF THE WAR. Will the Order prevail? Will the Death Eaters triumph? Who will survive?
As this will be the last phase of our roleplay, upon the conclusion of which the game will close, we will not be accepting further new character applications at this time.
We thank you all for your time, your interest, your enthusiasm, your creativity, and most of all we thank you for sharing your wonderful selves with us. You have made this game a truly amazing experience and we could not have done even half of it without you. We’ve already gushed at you all in the ooc so we aren’t going to do that again here -- but thank you.
Now let’s go out with a bang, shall we?
Stay tuned! The end of the war starts soon!

We said goodbye To all the things we loved. Gave up our lives Just to find that it was not enough. We leapt in faith; Left our solitude, our carefree peace. What we thought could change the world Was just a childish dream. We failed to stop our own demise. The tragic end's before our eyes. Hope has no place here! Maybe the path that leads our way home will finally clear. Maybe the end we tried to avoid is already here. Some roses will never bloom, Some dreams will rot on the vine. Some lives will end much too soon. Some evil will never ever die! Some wars will not end in peace, Some heroes choose the wrong side. Sometimes it's worth it all To risk the fall And fight for every life!

TODAY’S WRITING SPRINT HAS NOW BEGUN!
As always, all players are welcome to participate but the sprint is not mandatory.
You do NOT have to write things for the game to participate in this sprint! Work on whatever projects you have going on that you want to sprint with; it all counts!
No distractions, no editing – the focus should be on getting your thoughts “onto paper” rather than fretting to make them perfect; you can make edits after!
And remember: no writing during breaks! (Well, finishing a sentence is okay…)
Good luck and have fun! We’ll see you all after the sprint…and we can’t wait to read it all!

Severus Snape.
We regret to announce that Ellie has had to depart from the game.
SEVERUS SNAPE temporarily returned his focus to spying amongst the Death Eaters, particularly to find out information regarding the most recent attack on Diagon Alley, which he was frustrated - and disappointed - to discover he hadn’t known about.
Severus may occasionally be referenced in-game as any other npc, and plot drops may utilize him as an information source, but for the most part he will be absent on his undercover assignment. When he returns to active play, the admins will help provide his player fresh secrets to bring!
SEVERUS SNAPE is open to applications.

Lucinda Talkalot
We regret to announce that Erin has had to depart from the game.
LUCINDA TALKALOT will be spending most of her time alternating between helping her family rebuilding her uncle’s shop, grieving the loss of a valuable employee, and being integrated into the Order.
Until she is once again claimed by a player, Lucinda may be referenced as an npc like any other unclaimed bio.
LUCINDA TALKALOT is now open to application.
