First of the two #learntocurl sessions I’m signed up for as an instructor. Glad I got paired up w/ Clyde who’s the best player in our club and an experienced teacher. He did most of the demonstrations and I was very happy playing support staff because I suck at balance and rock delivery... it would be mostly “do as I say not as I do” had I been doing the demos 😂 This was the first time I was actually #volunteering as an instructor - the last learn to curl I volunteered at I was 90% on photographer mode. Guess who fell on the ice today? Not once, but TWICE, while the 8am game was on livestream 😂😭 First time I fell banged up my left knee really bad, then the second time I hit my butt/tailbone area. While at lunch I started feeling pain on my elbows and triceps. I may need to wear KT tape on my right elbow for today’s afternoon match against Team Aasand. It’s a must win situation in order to play tomorrow. Afterwards I asked the rest of #CaulkAsians if we should’ve strategically lost for an easier game today and guaranteed game tomorrow and the general consensus is that you only get better by playing people who are better than you, so here’s hoping the older gentlemen who played 3 games yesterday are more banged up than us and that we can keep the momentum from this morning going. The guys are all napping while I’m updating social media. One of the best things about this location is the fact that they have a box of tissues at each end 😬 One of the women we played against this morning asked if they should call me @niklasedin The King or The Queen at the beginning of the match because she saw I was wearing my @teamniklasedin @dynastycurling Viking jersey 🥌💙💛🇸🇪 Hotter Than Hell #Bonspiel has been quite an experience so far.
