Had my DG Autumn Game Play Challenge petz out today: Madagascar Palm(Dubbed MP by @thorjefferson) is my last PUGs Purchace. She was bred by ParanoiaPaige with the magnolia munchkin Calico OW. Martel was bred by Kathleen for the Summer Olympics event on DG(I had planed to put him in my PKC BC crew but decided he was too cute). Bred with the Border Collie Dal OW. Both Jones and Nancy are just straight from the AC petz. Jones is from Vickie’s Shelter Dog file and Nancy is from a siamese OW also hexed by Vickie. MP plays fetch! She hates everyone but she loves playing fetch. Nancy is...a meezer 100%. And Jones...tries really hard to be a frisbee dog. And when he does catch it he’s super proud. Martel has it mastered.

As someone who was reading it back in jr high (?) and high school, can confirm that I don’t really know any casual sci fans who like Dune. Nobody in any of my classes ever commented and seemed to know anything about it, and even as an adult I don’t have many friends who are really Fans, mostly the furtherst are those who have seen some adaptation or another. I may be wrong, but I’m thinking @jimtheviking is the only other person outside my immediate family I know who’s for-sure read them, and to be honest, I only made it myself through Dune, Messiah, Children, and about 90% of God-Emperor before I just trailed off onto other things, because all of my faves were long gone at that point of the story.

Also, back in the day, I played Catz4 and named all of my cats after the Dune cast AND named an old Gundam Wing next gen OC Chani(a), so... even though I didn’t stay with it, I definitely went all in when I was there 😂

Also-also, I talk a big game, but it’s been at least a decade or two since I last saw the original... like, I’m pretty sure it was still the 90s and none of the others even existed yet. I’d probably die from the effects aging even more poorly today.

i know i read Dune at one point a few years ago because it’s my mom’s absolute favorite, buuuuut i barely remember a damn thing about it. it didn’t sink in even a little bit. sometimes i think of trying again but i always manage to talk myself out of it. someday mom is gonna make me watch that movie…… >.>

I’ve gotta say it’s incredible world building though! My fave part of my attempts at reading the books was looking at the glossary in the back haha. And the sets and all in the movie are really cool.

I guess that was a public height of like, that really richly developed scifi? From what I can tell - anyone can like Star Trek or Star Wars, but things like LOTR and Dune are like, the Scifi Fan’s™ scifi. You gotta be committed and willing to absolutely immerse yourself in it cause otherwise you’re not gonna get anything out of it.

Here's a large chunk of my HOARD of Catz.  The first pic is of some of the first generation cats, and then they kept breeding and breeding from there... (Some of the weird colors are 'clothes' and paint I put on some of the similar-looking/colored cats to tell them apart.)

Officially released my bunny file on my site! Breeding lop and upear bunnies has some strange things, and breeding the rew can result in having pink eyerims on non rew bunnies.
