In Memorian to Vivienne Westwood, the fashion-icon that recently died and also defined this Punk-Movement, especially in clothing-style with the band Sex Pistols.
She is probably the reason why Punk ends at MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) and Punk-Stuff auctioned at Sotherbys.
..as this newspaper/magazine from December 1976 published by Jamie Reid with Sophie Richmond and Vivienne Westwood (the ANARCHY IN THE UK newspaper No. 1. (Glitterbest: London) with Soo Catwomen on the Cover. 12 pages, tabloid newspaper format, 45x32cm
This fanzine, the only one issued, was intended for the Anarchy tour and first went on sale on 20 December at the Cleethorpes concert (copies were brought up from London by Debbie Juvenile and Tracey O’Keefe). Its content spans visual profiles of the band members as well as of its early fans the ‘Bromley Contingent’, as well as a page contributed by Vivienne Westwood and Reid’s re-working of Situationist Suburban Press graphics. Incorporating photographs by Ray Stevenson from the group's September 1976 Paris trip and their first appearance at the 100 Club, as well as a cover photo of Soo Catwoman, the fanzine proclaims a punk transgressive antagonism.

Some highlights of ‘60s & early 70s cons from The Golden Age of Comic Fandom (1999) book. Many of these -- the JSA ones in particular -- were the first cosplays of their kind in recorded history as early fandom was just beginning to take shape and conventions were still considered primarily aimed at science fiction fans. We’ve got:
Dick and Pat Lupoff as Captain Marvel and Mary Marvel at the 1960 World Science Fiction Convention in Pittsburgh, memorably acknowledged as likely the first comic book cosplay in the Xero (1960) #1 fanzine.
Maggie and Don Thompson as Taia and Ibis the Invincible, as well as Larry Ivie and Les Gerber as Batman and Robin, at the 1962 WorldCon in Chicago.
Dian Girard, Bruce Pelz, Fred Patten and Ted Johnstone as Wonder Woman, Doctor Fate, The Flash and Green Lantern also at the 1962 WorldCon in Chicago.
Carol and Phil Seuling as Mary Marvel and Captain Marvel with Otto Binder (co-creator of Supergirl and prolific scripter of Marvel Family stories!) at the 1965 New York Comic Con.
John Clark as The Shadow at the 1970 Phoenix Con, winner of the masquerade ball contest at that same convention.
Bruce Hamilton and Leslie Hamilton as the Joker and Catwoman also at the 1970 Phoenix Con.
Michael T. Gilbert as Green Lantern at the 1971 Comic Art Convention in New York.
For more information on early comic book fandom, you can find a transcript of ‘The Golden Age of Comic Fandom’ panel at the 2000 San Diego Comic Con right here.

I have a few questions, all relating to the DemonCat fanzine. How do fanzines even work? Can people under 18 participate? How much work do you have to do? How skilled do you have to be? I'm not sure if I qualify.
Hello anon!
A fanzine is a project made by fans for fans, where artists & writers together with the Mods create a book with their creations (art, fics, merchandise...) . This zine plus the merch created will be up for pre-ordering and afterwards will be shipped worldwide to the buyers.
Yes, people under 18 years can participate in a fanzine if the project is SFW, which in our case, so far it is. So yes, people under 18 can join in the DemonCat zine.
As for how much work, it depends on your choice. If you're an artist and are selected you have to do one piece/ one merch item but if you wish to create more than one, you're free to draw as many as you wish!
In case you're a writer, you can do from one short story (usually the min is 1k and the max is settled on 3-3.5k) or various shorter stories. Once again the amount of work is up to you. We also usually give extensions when our creators need them.
As for how skilled you have to be, you don't have to necessarily be super skilled to participate in the zine. You don't have to shy away from a project you really like in fear you won't qualify. You just keep drawing/ writing until the apps open, believe me, the only way to improve our talents is by working on them daily! You'll see how much you improve! At the same time, no matter your skills you can ask for a RedLinner, an artist that will help you with your piece's anatomy, composition, any problem you may have. Or an editor/ beta-read who will help you with your fic composition, language barriers, grammar mistakes etc.
So don't worry about qualifying or not! The zine is a project to enjoy, have fun & make friends!♡
