Just caught a mouse by chasing it around the room with a duffle bag. I've never felt more like a man.

one advantage of having mice is you'll always have perfect bait for wild mice on hand

a disadvantage is that you will often need that because wild mice will be tempted to enter your house quite often

but it's not all bad. You get to catch a mouse really fast (you have perfect bait). And you get to look at this cute little guy you caught before releasing them

I would feel bad for the mice that get caught in my traps if it were not for the fact that I have now killed 3 in the span of 2 hours to the same trap. I feel like if you keep sending members of your family out to forage for food and they keep going "ooo! Yummy peanut butter :)" to the same very obvious trap in the same location, at some point that's kind of on you.

So now my reaction to walking into the room and seeing the exact same trap with yet another mouse inside is "...idiot" instead of "poor thing".

Not a fan of outdoor cats but I have no say for this one but look at them! They're hunting together! They didn't catch anything.

Listen, I learned from y-rhywbeth2 's brilliant lore blog, that the gods can see what's happening within certain radius where their name was uttered. So what if when Gortash said "give me the stone or suffer the Black Hand of Lord Bane", he actually orchestrated a test for Bane himself to see the amnesiac Durge's unchanged merit. What if Gortash already had enough proof for himself since Durge slayed Orin and returned to him with the stones, but he gotta get his dark lord to extend his blessing to his lover, too. It just didn't turn out well for Gortash, considering what Bane did about his death.

Achieved start of the year goals

Didn't fulfill my last year's goal of making commissions a full time job. I mean, I did for a little bit while but it's still not the right time yet.

Though what I did unexpectedly accomplish is that my fear of cockroaches had decreased. We had a family of house shrews this year (usually we had mice) and I learned they mainly eat insects. I still like to avoid killing the few huntsman spiders we have hanging around so the next big insect available would normally be a roach. So I'd bonk one if I find one (instead of immediately bolting out the room) so I can feed the shrews. I mean cockroaches, specially the American cockroach, still freaks me the heck out. But, like, it's shrew food.

Oh, also bought a display tab. I'll always be grateful to the Ko-fi supporters for reaching this goal! I'm still in the middle finding my rhythm with the tablet. Considering getting a paperlike screen protector to minimize the glass texture.

2024 goal

A new laptop of course. My ideapad is in the cusps of dying. 😭

I don't feel that productive in the drawing department this year. :/ My current day job does pay a little higher than my commissions and ko-fi requests combined... But I really don't fill fulfilled when I make less drawings. Let's see if I can make commissions a full time job this year. Or at least try to see if I can make my top source of income drawing related.

There are other goals I hope to accomplish this year, but these are the main drawing related ones.

Regarding commissions

There will be some adjustments to the background prices in regular commissions. Because, like, I shouldn't price it lower than the base price if I spent as much time drawing it. Lol

I think I'll rate Ko-fi doodle requests based on what the piece literally contain instead of basing on the amount of time spent drawing the request. It'll make things simpler specially with comics. I'll make a post about the changes when I decide on the settled rates

Moss’s guide to catching a little guy (safely and without traps):

1. Spot a guy, probably running around in a little field or perhaps in an underbrush.

2. Slowly and quietly get as close to the guy as possible.

3. Lunge for the guy like a volleyball player going for an out of bounds ball.

4. Lightly and gently (very important!) flatten the guy with the palm of your hand against the ground.

5. Grab the scruff, or the loose skin on their back of their neck, gently and firmly with two or three fingers.

6. Take a picture with the guy, then place him back on the ground.

To all wondering, scruffing is the safest way to hold a rodent for both you and them! It’s the technique often used by researchers!

In the ep where Gaon takes Elijah out to see Soohyun, Yohan finds Kkomi seated on his desk in the middle of the day. He then asks "aren't you supposed to be with Elijah ?", which prompts him to go look for her (and then all the stuff that happens after etc). There's also ep 3 where the cat sits next to him on the couch while he's watching tv.

Now, does this mean that if Kkomi isn't with Elijah, she directly goes to Yohan's space ? (Work space nonetheless. I hope she knocked his things off the desk and left cat hair on his robes). If Kkomi goes to Yohan for company that means yohan is, to an extent, cat dad.

according to brennan, there were so many funny and relevant texts in mice& murder that they decided to leave out, mainly bc it would distract from the show.

i know this unlikely happen for many reasons, but my dream is that dropout releases a “m&m rewatch” collection, where it’s exactly the same except there are a lot more texts shown and the clued texts aren’t censored.
