I wonder that in the wedding of Kafka and Mina, what would Okonogi and Hoshina do? Also who would try to catch the bouquet during the wedding reception? (I believe that would be Hoshina=))) And what was other's feeling after seeing that? Thank you for your time^^
Hi there~
It's funny you bring this up as I have a wedding-related OkoHoshi ficlette idea I've been tinkering with lately, though I don't know if I'll go ahead with it...
Anyways, KafMina wedding!!
They do strike me as the type to go with a modern western-style wedding, bouquet tossing and all! White is very much Mina's colour and she'd look gorgeous in a full bridal gown (Kafka is mildly scared to find a pistol strapped to her thigh later into the night, which she claims - somewhat unconvincingly, might he add - is a precaution against kaiju other than her new husband.)
Regarding Okonogi and Hoshina... I think they might be left out of the wedding party to be honest. Instead, Reno and Kikoru take up the position of Best Man and Maid of Honor respectively (+ Bakko as ring bearer). Not because Kafka and Mina wouldn't want them to take part, but if the Captain is busy celebrating her wedding day then the Vice Captain needs to be at the ready to take care of any urgent kaiju matters on her behalf, right? It just makes practical sense. As for Okonogi, well... she'd just feel too awkward being part of a fancy ceremony like that, even if the eyes weren't necessarily on her.
But Hoshina and Okonogi still attend as guests of course!
While Hoshina isn't a part of the wedding party proper, Kafka and Mina still pull him up on stage to give a speech early into the reception festivities. Okonogi makes no speeches but claps as others say their piece, eyes misty from joy and laughter.
The heartfelt anecdotes and silly jokes wrap up, after which there is cake and music and drinks of all kinds.
When it comes time to throw the bouquet, several ladies gather near the front in hopes of improving their chances of getting married catching the beautiful flower arrangement - but it turns out Mina's throwing arm is just as impressive as her firing one and she overshoots the crowd by a large margin.
It flies across the venue in a long arc, petals scattering along the unexpected trajectory.
Soshiro barely registers the object entering his peripheral but snatches it from the air flawlessly all the same - as expected, it takes the Vice Captain to catch the Captain's throws. He laughs a little at the bouquet that's now securely in hand, followed by further laughter as the attending women groan and cry out in disappointment.
"How could you, sir!"
"That's supposed to be for us girls!!"
"I caught it fair an' square!" He shoots back, waving the bouquet at them like a baton. "How about you try puttin' in a little more work for it next time!?"
It's all in good fun though, for the women laugh too and quickly return to drinking and dancing and the eating of cake.
Somewhat prior to this, a reticent Okonogi was dragged onto the dance floor by Akari and the rest for several fast-paced songs. Though she'd admit to having a bit of fun, that one bit was still more than enough for her. The Operations Leader sticks to lingering near the drink bar after this, quietly taking photos now and then - even snapping a shot of their Vice Captain catching Mina's bouquet when the cameraman wasn't ready - but otherwise content to watch the cheerful chaos from a distance.
A wallflower like her had no aspirations of catching flowers.
...Which is why Okonogi Konomi is all the more startled when the much-sought-after bouquet is suddenly shoved into her hands.
"Huh?"
"Hold these for me, would you dear?" Vice Captain Hoshina asks before she's even fully registered his presence.
"What??"
Amused by Konomi's bewildered state, Soshiro flashes his sharp canines at her along with his phone - a familiar Kaiju warning blinking violently across the narrow screen.
"Duty calls!"

SH Day 6: Marriage Agreement: ‘Til Our Contract Do Us Part
@sasuhinamonth
Hello dears, this prompt is composed of an older story that I changed a bit here and there and finished just now (it’s somewhat finished as in the ending isn’t too open, but it is open enough for me to continue if I ever wish to). I was very excited to finally use it after having it in my docs for idk maybe a year or so. It’s veeery long compared to what I usually write for these prompts but it just didn’t feel right to split it into parts anywhere.
~Love, Dia
Modern AU, OOC
Champaign
Hinata couldn’t help but sigh in relief when the waiters started walking around with trays full of Champaign glasses, it meant that the speech and toast part would come soon, that was her dad’s way of ending these events, thanking everyone for coming. Usually after the toast people drank their glasses quite fast and they all shook hands with Hiashi before leaving, considering there were about a hundred people around that would take about another hour. She made it thought the preparations for the event and the event itself which took over 7 hours, the worst parts ended, she will survive the goodbyes.
Once the trays were all empty and everyone had a glass in hand Hiashi walked to the middle of the room at what seemed to be the slowest speed possible. Everyone was watching him, nobody dared talk. For most people this wasn’t their first Hyuuga Event and they knew how things worked, and even those that attended it for the first time were smart enough to follow everyone’s lead and stay quiet.
Finally reaching his usual spot Hiashi rose his glass and started speaking. Hinata sent a small prayer to the heavens wishing the speech to be short.
“I want to start by thanking everyone for coming over tonight, especially in such a short notice” it was indeed short notice, Hyuuga events happen 2 times a year on the 20th March and 23rd September; spring and fall equinox. But Hiashi decided a month ago that a mid-June event needed to be held this year. Nobody knew why. “I hope everyone had a pleasant time today, from our oldest friends,” Hiashi said turning to the Nara and Yamanaka leaders “to our newest friends” his eyes moved to Fugaku Uchiha “and everyone in between”
Hiashi started talking about the notion of friendship and how important bonds are in ‘our world’. Hinata could tell the speech would be a long one, and with every bullshit word coming out of her father’s mouth she wanted to roll her eyes. But she couldn’t. The elders were watching her every move, Neji and Hanabi were in the same position, having eyes on them at all times. They all had to smile and nod and act like these events are their favourite place to be, no matter how big of a lie that was. She was tired, the servant woke her up at 5 in the morning to start getting ready, her father didn’t agree with the first two dresses she had put on, the putting on and taking off, took her about 2 hours in total and was extremely exhausting despite the help from the servants. The preparations for the event also took longer than usual. Her father kept telling her how important it was for her to behave. Hinata had never been the one to cause problems during such events, no matter how much she hated them, but for some reasons, it was her that was always given the longest lectures.
The windows were open at least and the night summer wind gently blew inside. The dress Hiashi approved of was a deep red long evening gown. All the skirt layers were extremely heavy and she had been standing on high heels for longer than it should be humanly possible, the corset was so tightly tied, at times she’d have issues breathing and to top it all off the dress had long lace sleeves which were sticking to her skin. It had not been a fun dress to wear in the middle of a heatwave. Her mind was still drifting in space when all of a sudden, her father stopped talking.
“I know many of you have been wondering the reason for this event and we shall let you know. Fugaku would you mind joining me?” The Uchiha leader went to the centre of the room as well. Whispers started going around the crowd, nothing like that had ever happened before. Hinata looked to Neji trying to see if he was aware of any of that, but her cousin would not make eye contact with her. Neji’s head was lowered, his fist was clenched and the hand around the glass was white-knuckled, it was a miracle the glass hadn’t shattered in a million pieced from his grip. Neji was aware of what was about to happen and he was not pleased.
“Today is the first time in over 100 years when the Hyuuga and the Uchiha families meet in peace at an event such as this. The bond between the two is alone a motif to celebrate but we must do everything in our power to keep this bond as strong as we can which is why we have decided to bind the families together thought marriage.” Hiashi’s voice boomed with pride. The crowd’s whispers grew in intensity. Hinata looked at Hanabi, both girls looking shocked and even scared. Hanabi wanted to reach out and hold her older sister’s hand. Grip it tight and pray that they both get over this event intact, but before she could make a move Hiashi started speaking again. “Hinata, my daughter would you please come here”
All eyes turned to her. Her heart beat a thousand times per second, despite her sudden fear her body moved gracefully, her mind was in utter chaos but her body knew the drill, it obeyed whatever her father told her to do. As she was passing by people, a familiar hand gripped her for a moment, trying to say so many is such a small touch. Ino, her best friend, tried to give her all the strength she had, she wanted to assure her everything will be fine, and also thought that touch she said sorry. She said goodbye. Hinata reached her father’s side and turned towards the people. She had never been in the front of the ballroom before, had never had all the eyes on her. Hiashi put his hand on her shoulder and smiled at her, the kind of smile she had never seen before. The smile she had wished to see as a child, there was pride and content in it, but it only made Hinata’s heart break further. The emotions were not directed at her as a human, he was not proud of her, his pride came from finally finding it, a way to get rid of her. He had married her off.
“Sasuke my son, come!” Fugaku’s command was just as loud and even stiffer. Hinata found Ino’s eyes in the crowd. Her friend was crying silent tears. Seeing Ino cry made Hinata oddly detached. It was a strange sensation, she almost felt like her soul had left the body and she was watching from somewhere far away all of this happening to somebody else. The Hyuuga girl moved her eyes from her friend to the man walking towards them. Her future husband.
Once the young Uchiha stood in place Hiashi raised his glass and finished the toast. “To my beautiful daughter and her fiancé,” they cheered for her. They drank for her. And yet she didn’t. The Champaign glass was still full. She was lost… not in thought, her mind was blank but she wasn’t present either.
“Look alive princess” Came a voice from her right. Sasuke took her glass and finished it in one gulp. He placed both his and her glasses on the tray of a waiter and took her hand and kissed the back of it. People gasped and whispered. He put his arm around her shoulders and pulled her to him. With her on heels, his mouth came to her ear. “Smile sunshine. This is supposed to be the happiest day of your life. Fool them all” His voice was oddly gentle and it broke something in her. She would have cried but Sasuke was right; she had a part to play. Taking a small breath in Hinata fell in character.
Hiashi told them to do the honours and say goodbye to everyone, after all that was their engagement party. Hinata looked up at the man she would spend her life with and gave him a sweet and shy smile, she even managed to make herself blush when he smiled back at him. She smiled and blushed whenever someone congratulated them or made a comment about their engagement. From time to time, she’d steal a glance at Sasuke and look at him with what she hoped came across as admiration. They made eye contact a few times, he winked at her twice. They were both playing their parts flawlessly. One could not tell that they had never met before, that they were not indeed lovers. Fugaku called Sasuke to him and Hinata was left alone to say goodbye to the guests. A few older ladies praised her for being able to catch such a handsome husband.
The next in line was Gaara. Hinata’s heart broke a little more upon seeing him. He too looked sad, which her brain turned to something else despite knowing it not to be true. Her feelings for Gaara had not gone away as she had hoped they would after finding out that he was in a secret relationship. “I am sorry Hinata” He whispered as he kissed her cheek. There was nothing either of them could do, people were waiting in line to talk to her after Gaara. Her father and fiancé were in front. Hinata smiled and thanked him just as she had everyone else. Gaara would not save her, he couldn’t and even if he could…he wouldn’t.
Ino was one of the last people to come talk to her. She had gone to the bathroom to pull herself together after crying. The blonde was stronger than that, but she had cried for Hinata because at that moment Hinata could not afford to cry. The Yamanaka girl hugged her tightly and whispered in her ear encouragements that they both knew would not help.
Everyone had left but the Uchiha family and the main Hyuuga family. Even the Hyuuga elders had seen themselves out. Habani was nowhere to be seen. Neji, her father, Sasuke, Fugaku and Sasuke’s elder brother Itachi were all talking among themselves. To the side was Mikoto, Sasuke’s mom. Hinata was still by the door; now that everyone had left, she was unsure of what to do, under normal circumstances she would be allowed to leave and go to her room, but her father hadn’t dismissed her yet. The Uchiha woman looked to her, smiled and started walking towards her.
“You look lovely dear. I’ve been keeping my eye on you the whole event but Fugaku would not allow me to come and talk to you sooner. Come dear let’s sit down and gossip while the men talk business”. The two women walked to the first table and sat down next to each other. “The event was so long; I thought your father would never make his speech. It must have been hard for you too, staying all those hours on high heels and in that dress, what were the servants thinking giving you such a heavy and warm dress to wear; do they not know it’s summer?” Mikoto went on about trivia things a moment longer. Hinata had yet to say a word, however, her future mother-in-law didn’t seem to mind her silence, for she filled it with mindless talk.
“I know it’s a difficult time for you,” The woman said and took Hinata’s hands in hers. “They were unfair to you, they should have let you know earlier.” Mikoto touched a strand of Hinata’s hair. “You have nothing to fear. We are a good family. My son will take care of you. It will take a while for you to adjust I know, but this is not the end of the world.”
Hinata opened her mouth to say something but found her throat was so dry she couldn’t say anything. After clearing her throat, she tried again. “Will I be leaving with you tonight?” the idea of leaving tonight and not being able to say goodbye to anyone was unboreable.
“No sweetheart. The Uchiha is an old family with old traditions, you will move in with Sasuke only on the night of the wedding. It is a sin to live under the same roof before that.” Hinata nodded. At least she still had some time before that.
“When is the wedding?”
It was easy to see Mikoto was an affectionate person, she moved her chair to be closer to Hinata and hugged her. Something about the woman put her at ease, her voice and hair reminded her of Hikari, her own mother, it was a strange feeling. “The wedding will be in three months. Before that we have to pick a dress, everything else has been pretty much done, you can look over everything and make the last-minute decisions. Of course you and Sasuke will spend some time together to get to know each other and-“.She was cut off by Sasuke himself when he addressed her “Mother” Mikoto squeezed her harder one more time before letting Hinata go. The woman got to her feet and kissed Sasuke’s cheek. “Goodbye Hinata, I will see you soon dear”
She and Sasuke were now alone. He took a seat in the chair Mikoto had emptied. For a moment they didn’t talk. It was all moving along too fast for Hinata to comprehend. Just under 2 hours ago, all she wanted was the event to end so she could sleep. Nothing could have prepared her for the change her life took. It almost felt like it wasn’t real; or that it was all happening to someone else. She had not made a single decision about this.
“Tomorrow I’ll come and we will have lunch together and talk more. It has been a full and exhausting day.” His voice was just as gentle as it was when he whispered to her before. “What would you prefer we eat? I will make reservations ahead of time”
“Anything will do, I don’t mind” Hinata answered. She appreciated that he didn’t want to ‘get to know each other’ then and there. She was indeed tired and needed to think about everything a little more, in order to realize that it was all indeed real. Looking up at Sasuke she had to say she was lucky; he was very good looking and so far, had shown her kindness. If what his mother said was true her destiny wasn’t as cruel as it could have been.
He got up and extended his hand for her to take, which she did. Hand in hand they walked back to where both families were still discussing. Neji would still not look at her, Itachi offered her a kind smile, Fugaku only a nod.
“I see that the two of you hit it off.” Her father said, it appeared he was really happy with the arrangements. Sasuke nodded to her dad. Hinata was certain that if Hiashi had his way she would leave with the Uchihas that very moment and never return.
“Hinata is tired, it is quite late so we should go. I will return tomorrow at noon in order to take her out for lunch Hyuuga-san.” Sasuke had not asked permission to take her out. He had simply stated that he would. That was the moment she realized her father was no longer the one to command her. Sasuke was. She wasn’t sure if what she felt was fear or excitement.
“Yes of course. Hinata you may leave” Hiashi said but Hinata didn’t move for Sasuke was still holding onto her hand.
“I will walk her to her quarter.” Hinata barely had time to bow to what would soon be her family before Sasuke started pulling her along. “In my presence you will not follow his word. My word is absolute, his is barely wind blowing by you.” Sasuke appeared to be annoyed by the fact that her father dismissed her. “If he says go but I am standing still, you too will stay unless I decide we will leave”
“Yes.” She knew how their world worked; despite them living in the 21rst century where women were seen as equals more and more every day, their world stopped evolving. The husband was the ultimate master while the woman was a possession. First, she was owned by her father, then by her husband.
They walked quite fast when leaving the ballroom, but once they were out of sight Sasuke slowed his steps. He was aware of the difficulty of walking in heels, his mother always made sure to complain about it. Her hand in his felt small and fragile, he had never been given something to take care of, sometimes that was his and his alone. He had been against the marriage at first. He wanted to wait until he was the Uchiha head later in life before taking a wife but his father insisted, he needed to marry young and have heirs because Itachi could not. His older brother had been his father’s favourite from a young age; that was until Itachi was 18 and Sasuke 13, about 10 years ago. On his 18thbirthday Itachi gave up his title as the heir in a very public way only to than later inform his father that not only does he not want to be head but he would not be fit for the role, for he could never give heirs to the clan. Itachi’s infertility came as a shock to the whole family. Sasuke was tested as well as soon as possible but thankfully the tests proved that he would be able to have children.
Fugaku had learned in the past 10 years to accept Sasuke as his heir, his relationship with his father was better now than it had ever been, but even so they were not as close as Itachi had been with him. But Fugaku put in all his efforts to try to make Sasuke the best, he taught him everything he could and allowed Sasuke to do as he pleases as long as what he did would be useful to the family. So, when he informed Sasuke he had picked a wife for him it came to no surprise that he had chosen a girl from a very important family, a family even older than the Uchihas and just as influential. The girl was known among her people as an angel and was believed to be the most beautiful Hyuuga girl to ever be, so of course, Fugaku wanted her for his own heir.
Upon seeing Hinata for the first time that night Sasuke had concluded the rumours had not been false. He had not been disappointed in the slightest. He was actually impressed. He expected two outcomes: either the girl to cry and make a fuss about the marriage or to be the ditzy kind of girl he had seen around that throws herself at him. She had been neither. For the shortest moment she had faltered and shown her true feelings, disbelief and numbness, but she pulled herself together as soon as he spoke to her. She had acted and played her part perfectly.
The pavement was old and uneven towards the main house. Almost nothing had been altered from the time the house was built, only maintained, so cracks and unevenness in the pathways happened. Hinata was trying her best to walk over them in her heels. Normally by that point in the night, she would take her heels off but she was not alone. Noticing her slowing down Sasuke stopped.
“Would you want me to carry you?” The offer was unexpected and it made Hinata quiet for a moment which Sasuke took as ‘yes’. He slightly bent and placed an arm under her knees and the other around her back. On instinct, Hinata placed both her hands on his shoulders to steady herself.
“You didn’t have to do that” Despite saying that she was thankful. Her feet were killing her.
“How high are your heels?”
“About 6 inches. Why?”
“6 inches and I’m still 6 inches taller than you.” He made a humming sound. Hinata didn’t know what he was thinking but she didn’t try to figure it out either. It was hard enough trying to figure out what she was feeling, there was no energy or time to uncover the mysteries of Sasuke’s mind. Her body was tired but her brain was even more exhausted. At this point not really caring anymore, she placed her head on his shoulder and just enjoyed the ride. Upon getting to the main house Hinata instructed him to go to the 2nd floor to the left. There was a guard outside her door that did not stop him from entering her room but actually held the door open for him. Two servants were inside waiting to help her undress and wash before going to bed. Sasuke put her on the edge of her bed.
“Thank you for bringing me here.” Hinata said. She felt a bit shy now, not really knowing how to say goodbye to him. This was the first time a man beside her dad and Neji entered her room. Not even the guards were allowed inside.
“Goodnight Hinata, I will see you tomorrow” Sasuke said, he kissed the back of her hand once more and left. Not waiting for her reply. Once again, a choice was made for her that day, but she was grateful for it this time.
The servants were gossiping about her fiancé and how gentle and beautiful he was, about how he had looked at her and how he had carried her like she was the most precious thing in the world. They guided her to her feet and to the full-length mirror to the side of her bed.
All their words were flying around her but none of them really registered; her brain was still not processing much of anything. She was still in the ballroom holding her Champaign glass praying for her dad’s speech to be short.
The servants untied her corset and Hinata took in her first deep breath in what felt like ages. They peeled off her sleeves and pulled the skirt away from her body. She was left in her underwear and heels in front of the full-length mirror. Her arms were splotchy and red from place to place from the itchy lace, her breasts and abdomen had red traces from where the corset was too tight on her. Her panties were red to match the dress, her legs were white and smooth but they were barely holding her at that point in the high heels, they were visibly shaking. Her eyes moved back up over every inch of naked skin until it reached her face. She wasn’t sure what she expected to see there, maybe something different. Some kind of evidence of the announcement from that night, but everything looked just as it did that morning.
One of the servants had just finished putting the dress away for it to be cleaned the next day, while the other filled her bathtub with hot water, salts and oils. Hinata would usually take off her heels and walk on her own to the bath but she was still looking at herself in the mirror, her eye make-up wasn’t smudged at all, her lipstick had gone after eating and drinking halfway through the event, so she excused herself to the bathroom several hours ago to take it off, her updo had lost some of its volume and a few strands had fallen around her face. She was too close to the mirror, her image being all she saw. Hinata took a few steps back and tried to picture Sasuke next to her naked body. They would make a beautiful couple even she could admit that.
Not being able to stomach the image she had in her head anymore the Hyuuga girl finally turned around and sat on the bed for a moment to take her heels off. She walked to the bathtub and took off her underwear as well and lowered herself in the hot water. Her head was resting on a soft towel; one of the servants started taking her make-up off and cleaning her face with scrubs and putting gels on her face and gently massaging everything in.
“Haruhi, could you please put some music on?” Hinata asked the servant that was not busy at the time. A moment later soft music started playing in the background. Once the facial massage was done a charcoal mask was applied to her face and finally, her hair was taken from the updo. Mina, the servant washing her poured some warm water on her head in such a way as not to get it on her mask. Her hair was shampooed twice and conditioned and rinsed and finally, put in a towel.
Haruhi came to help with washing her body, they scrubbed at her neck, collarbones, arms, hands, breasts, back and every other part of her. Her body was rinsed and washed again, more gently with moisturizing lavender soap and rinsed again. Her facemask was taken off, the water drained from the tub and she stepped out of it allowing the servants to towel her off. Mina placed a large towel over her bedsheets and Hinata laid on her back and enjoyed as both her servants massaged every part of her body with more oils, once they were done on one side she turned on to her front and they started to work again.
Her massage was almost done when Hanabi busted through her door. Hinata lazily opened her eyes, she was tired and finally relaxed, thus on the edge of falling asleep. Her sister was in her night attire, her hair still wet from her own bath most likely. Her eyes were red, she must have cried, but she looked angry at the moment. Hinata’s servants did not stop their massage despite the company of her sister.
“How can you stay there and enjoy your massage?” Hinata asked sounding astonished.
“You had enjoyed your bath time, why shouldn’t I?” Despite all of Hinata’s efforts over the years she and Hanabi weren’t as close as she wanted. Hanabi had always resented her for being older, the firstborn, the heir. When Hanabi was 3 and Hinata 7 the younger spent her days playing and reading stories and being watched by the elder women while Hinata was studying with the men. Hanabi had asked once why that was the case and an elder said “Your sister is the heir. She has to know how to be a leader, while you my dear, you will be a wife to someone” Despite that incident, things slowly started changing over the years, Hinata lost her father’s favour and Hanabi was taught leadership skills while Hinata was toughed to cook. Despite the obvious manner in which Hiashi favoured her now, Hanabi had always felt jealous of her sister, for she always believed what that old woman said to her in her childhood, she resented Hinata for she was to be the one that would not be married off. What an irony.
“Why aren’t you upset?” Hanabi’s voice was breaking and she was shaking. “Why aren’t you angry?” her fists were clenched and she looked like she wanted to start a riot. “Why aren’t you in dad’s office demanding he change his mind?”
“There’s nothing to change Hanabi.” Hinata finally got up and gestured to the servants to leave. She took the towel and put it around her body as the two bowed and left the room, left the sisters to talk among themselves. “Dad did it in such a way that it cannot be undone.” Hinata walked to her closet looking for something to wear to bed. “He didn’t tell me before so I couldn’t contest it, and now I can’t. Everyone that matters in this world knows about it. Unless I have a good reason, a very good one, there’s nothing that can stop this. In three months I will not be here anymore” Hinata finally picked a silk shorts and tanktop combo and put it on. “And you little sister.” The older one said as she walked towards her sister “You will be a Hyuuga forever, this will be the only house you know, these will be your people.” Hinata wanted to finish her sentence with ‘just as you’ve always wanted’ but stopped herself short.
Hanabi was crying again. She had prayed and wished to be the one to stay for so many years. But she had never thought about her sister leaving. She had always been bitter and held Hinata at a distance even when the older one tried to make the gap between them disappear. She had never taken the opportunity to get to know Hinata, and now she couldn’t.
“I’m sorry.” Hanabi said and hugged Hinata. They hadn’t hugged in ages. This time it was Hinata who pushed away.
“It’s over for today. I have not yet realized that this is not a dream. We will speak tomorrow. I’m going to bed now” She was a bit angry at Hanabi for only now trying to act like a sister. She had tried before that evening too, right before Hinata’s name was called, but even then it was in a moment of weakness, of fear, it wasn’t out of love or care. For most of her life Hinata tried to convince herself that she was fine with the way her and Hanabi’s relationship was, after trying for a few years to bond with her and being rejected, Hinata became content with what they had because she believed Hanabi not to be able to connect on a deeper level. She didn’t connect with Neji or Hiashi either. But seeing that she is indeed able of that connection, that she just didn’t want it before, hurt her more than Hinata would ever admit.
Hanabi left and Mina and Haruhi peeked in Hinata’s room. “Good night Himata-hime” they said in union and Hinata wished them a goodnight as well. Them calling her hime reminded her of the way Sasuke had called her Princess. ‘Smile sunshine. Fool them all’ he had said. And she did. She smiled and fooled them.
Now that her head was finally on her pillow, hair still damp, sheets cool and comforting, the room dark and quiet she allowed herself to admit a few things out loud. “I am getting married. I will be an Uchiha. Sasuke will be my husband.” The silence in the room was deafening “I am scared.” A little voice in the back of her brain whispered ‘I am excited’ but she didn’t say it out loud. With those thoughts in mind, she fell asleep.
________________________________
The next morning felt normal. She woke up, brushed her teeth, washed her face, got dressed and went downstairs for breakfast. She didn’t feel different. Upon reaching the dining room she realized for once she was the last to arrive. Hanabi was in her seat looking upset, Neji was frowning at his phone and her dad was reading something on his pad. That is what the house would look like in three months. She moved from the doorframe and all eyes turned to her. Hanabi still looked sad, Neji looked sorry and her dad was happy. Hinata walked around the table and sat in her chair.
“Good morning sunshine. How did you sleep?” Hiashi had stopped calling her sunshine when she was 4 years old and Hikari died.
“I slept very well, how about you father?”
“I did as well”
Neji was looking at Hinata almost expecting her to cry or scream. He was looking at her face trying to find proof of tears from the night before, but her face wasn’t red or puffy. She looked well-rested.
The breakfast was finally brought for them to eat and they did so in silence. Hiashi was the first to finish and instead of leaving to go do work as he would normally, he started talking.
“Sasuke will be here at noon. You should start getting ready after breakfast” Hiashi too wanted to test his daughter and see how she would address the situation. He wanted to know if he had to give her a lecture about her behaviour around the Uchiha heir.
“Yes, I know. I already thought of what I want to wear. I will change and come seek your approval as I would for an event.” Hinata said between bites. “He didn’t mention where we were going but he did say he will make reservations so I am assuming it is a dressy place despite being a lunch date”
Everyone was taken aback by her answer. Hinata had not lied, she slept very well and woke up early. She accepted her fate almost entirely, she picked what she wanted to wear and even thought about a few things she wanted to ask Sasuke. In all truthfulness, she was a bit excited but was trying to keep her expectations low, that way she would not be disappointed if this change was not for the better. The only thing she didn’t particularly like about this was not seeing Ino and Neji. They were her best friends despite Neji’s behaviour in those 2 days.
Seeing as nobody spoke anymore Hinata excused herself and went to her room to start getting ready. It was only 9 in the morning. Sasuke would only come in about 3 hours but there wasn’t much else she could do.
She didn’t even reach her closet to take out the outfit she had thought of wearing when Neji came into her room. He walked to her and bowed. “I’m sorry” he was apologizing for not telling her, for not being able to stop it, for the way he treated her.
“It’s ok Neji. Everything could have been worse.” She wasn’t lying. She heard of many girls that had married old and abusive men. Their whole life they were raped and beaten. She didn’t know Sasuke at all but from the 2 interactions she had with him, he didn’t appear like he would hit her. Mikoto too seemed nice enough. “What is one prison exchanged for another?” She wasn’t allowed to do much in the Hyuuga household anyways, read and study. She was a bit eager to see if she had a bit more freedom as an Uchiha and if not, she was already used to being a caged bird.
“I couldn’t convince uncle not to do that. The bond with the Uchihas was apparently necessary. And Fugaku requested you to marry his son. Uncle couldn’t deny a direct request like that. Plus...” Neji decided to stop there.
“Plus, dad would rather Hana be the leader.” Hinata continued what Neji wouldn’t say. “I know that Neji. I’ve known that for a while now.”
“If one of the leaders were to request to marry you as well uncle might need to reconsider” He didn’t sound sure at all.
“He wouldn’t change his mind. The relationship with the Uchihas is more important to him than any other family at the moment. In addition, nobody would risk their bond with both us and the Uchihas for my hand in marriage” Hinata absently replied while looking through her collection of necklaces while sitting at her vanity.
“If we ask Gaara maybe-“
“He wouldn’t. and I would never ask him either” Yesterday she might have jumped up at the idea of marring Gaara. But something changed and made her realize her feelings for Gaara were never really for the man, but the freedom he represented. Gaara was her friend, he was a leader and if he would have been her husband, he would have offered her the most freedom a woman can have in their world. “I would never ask your boyfriend to marry me” Hinata said this while watching Neji’s face in the mirror.
Her cousin blushed and looked alarmed. “You are mistaken Hina-“
“Stop” I know I’m not. Her eyes softened. “It took me a while to realize but I did. And I confirmed my suspicions when I told Gaara about my feelings a few months ago and he said he was in love with someone himself. I asked why he wasn’t marrying this girl and he replying that his relationship was taboo. I thought she was a married woman maybe, a commoner. But it clicked when I saw him look at you.” Neji was still not moving or breathing.
“I will not tell anyone about the two of you Neji. It is nobody’s business but yours.” She got up from the vanity and walked to him and hugged him. “For what is worth…I wish you both happiness.” She knew that their relationship would not be accepted in their world and her heart wept for both cousin and her friend. The world was cruel. “I hope you find a way to be happy and free” She wanted that for herself too. Happiness and freedom to find who she was and then be herself.
Neji hugged her back. “That means the world to me Hinata.” He sighed long and his body felt like it was deflating. “I hadn’t realized how it would feel to hear the words from someone other than him or me. How much I wanted someone to validate the way I feel” Neji took a step back and kissed her forehead. “I wish you happiness and freedom as well Hinata. I hope your life as an Uchiha to be better than your life as a Hyuuga has been.”
She hoped that as well. After another hug, Neji remained in her room and the two of them chatted while Mina and Haruhi were doing Hinata’s hair and make-up for her date. The dress Hinata had chosen was a black beach dress with daisies and sunflowers on the skirt. The skirt was cut on one leg to her mid-thigh. The upper part was like a tank top in the front but the back was almost bare, only a few strings places in a random pattern kept the front from falling. She would pair the dress with gold wedges and a gold choker and her normal hoop earrings. Her makeup was done also in soft golds and whites. Her hair was braided in the front like a crown and she asked Haruhi to braid some small daisies in as well. The rest of her hair was free and in waves from not drying it properly before bed. Neji had left right before she changed her clothes about 10 minutes ago. Being finally done she did as promised and went downstairs to get her father’s approval, it was still only 11 so if he had any complaints she would have the time to change, or so she thought. After knocking on his office door and being granted access Hinata opened the door only to find Sasuke in the room with her father.
Hiashi looked up at her and he only nodded his approval for her attire. Sasuke had on a white button up with the last 2 buttons undone and the sleeves rolled to his elbows and a short pair of black slacks.
“Come in Hinata, Sasuke came early so we had a talk while you were still getting ready” Hinashi beckoned her to enter the room but she didn’t move to which Sasuke smirked.
“Actually, I think we will be leaving now, seeing as she is ready as well. I will see you later Hiashi-san” Sasuke greeted the older man, took Hinata’s hand and closed the door of the office. Neither of them said anything as they walked to Sasuke’s car.
Hinata was starting to get nervous, not only for the date and being alone with Sasuke, but because she hadn’t been outside without her father or at least Neji. Sasuke opened the door of her and she got inside his car. He walked around and go into the driver’s seat. Before starting the car though, he kissed the back of her hand.
“You look lovely today as well.” He turned her hand around and kissed her wrist. “You were a good girl Hinata, not listening to you father.”
Her breath hitched due to the second kiss, no man touched her wrist before, let alone kiss it. During her talk with Neji they discussed Sasuke as well. Her cousin said that he is known to be cold and quite cruel. But he had been anything but that to her. He had been gentle and affectionate, something she had never experienced. Nobody in the Hyuuga household hugged her or kissed her hands.
Sasuke looked at her and smirked at her blush, he could tell this was the real deal and not a fake like the ones from last night’s goodbye charade. He finally started the car and drove down the Hyuuga driveway till he reached the first gate, one of the security men opened the gate for them and they continued down the driveway to the second and final gate, this was opened for them as well and they were finally on the road.
“I have never left without father or Neji the premises of the house.” Hinata admitted.
Sasuke looked at her for a split second from the corner of his eye. She was looking out the door with a small smile. “Not even to a friend’s house? I noticed you talking with the Yamanaka girl a lot. Were you never allowed to visit her just with a guard or two?”
“No. Neji always had to come along” Sasuke’s reply was a small hum. He hadn’t realized that the Hyuugas were that strict.
“I will assign my best guard to you once you move in with me. When I am at work; because unlike your father I am away from the house quite a lot, you will stay with him. You are free to go as you please as long as he’s with you”
‘You are free’ was what Hinata heard. She had wanted to be free for such a long time but now that I was so close to her, she wasn’t sure what she’d do with said freedom. The rest of the drive she spent trying to come up with what she would do the first chance she got.
The restaurant was in the centre of the city, where she had never been before. The amount of people walking around was mind-blowing. There were kids laughing, people talking walks and strolling around just because they could. Her whole life the thought of public space being dangerous had been drilled in her head. Other families could be around, they could hurt her. ‘People are mean and cruel’ that was Hiashi’s go-to answer when one of them wanted to go somewhere. Despite Hinata never really believing what her dad said, his words were on repeat in her head, so without really meaning to she took a step closer to Sasuke, held onto his arm with both hands and tried to hide away. Even if one does not believe the things they are told, if they are told them often enough, they become involuntary habits; she had been taught to think she was always in danger, paranoia was not easy to let go of.
When he had said they’d go eat at a restaurant she thought he meant one owned by the Hyuuga or by the Uchiha family, a restaurant from their respective part of Konoha. She knew what part of the city belonged to the Hyuugas and looked up what parts belonged to the Uchihas and this part wasn’t owned by either.
He noticed her stiffening in the car when he parked it. He noticed her fear and the way she clung to him for dear life. “What’s the matter Hinata?”
She looked up at him with big eyes, she looked like a deer caught in headlights. “Aren’t we in danger?” Her voice was low and trembling. Sasuke stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and took both of her hands in his. Hinata took a step in front and pressed her body to his, still trying to hide.
“Why would we be in danger?” he was genuinely confused.
“People are mean and cruel. This isn’t our territory. Someone could try to shoot at us.” The reply rolled off her tongue without much thought. She had heard them so many times they felt natural.
Sasuke placed one of her hands on his chest and the other on his back above the waistband of his pants. Hinata’s eyes grew even larger when she felt both guns. “This is neutral space. We’re not on anyone’s territory.” He said softly and let go of her hands but they stood in place. “And even if someone was to try to harm you, I’d kill them all” he whispered in her ear in the gentlest way possible. The threat should have scared her, but it made her feel secure. “I will protect you with everything I have. Nobody will dare touch a single hair from your head for the fear that I’ll destroy them all” Sasuke tucked a hair strand behind her ear as he continued to spill threats to any future danger. “Do you feel better now?” he finally asked.
“Yes” Hinata answered but couldn’t look at him. She felt silly and embarrassed for being worried. They were a few steps from the restaurant and had been standing in place being an inconvenience to people passing by. “Let’s go inside” she turned around and started walking to the door and Sasuke followed. He could see her flushed cheeks but allowed her to think she had hidden her discomfort from him. There were things on his mind, her fear had been real. She had been taught that if she were to ever leave her house she would die, her father hadn’t been above lying, traumatizing and manipulating her emotions to keep her in place and in control. He had always stayed home to work so he could keep an eye on all of them. Sasuke did not agree with his methods at all.
They were finally seated at a private table on the second floor. Hinata was looking at the menu with a sparkle in her eyes. “Do you know what you want to order?” Sasuke asked her. The restaurant was fancy enough to have steak and lobster but it also had hamburgers.
“I think I’ll take a chicken cheeseburger. I tried making one in secret home and it was good enough but I’m curious to see what a real one tastes like” She said with enthusiasm. “What about you? What are you ordering?”
“I think I’ll have a burger as well, the extra spicy one” Just as the two closed the menus the waiter came to take their order. Sasuke ordered for them the burgers and a big portion of fries and onion rings with a side of all of their 4 sauces, neither of them wanted soda so they decided to order a large bottle of water.
“You’ve never eaten a burger before?” Sasuke asked trying to go back to what she had said before.
“Only the one I made. Our cook usually makes food for 2 days so he has Tuesdays and Thursdays off. In those days I like cooking something that I want to try rather than just help him with whatever dad ordered he cooks…Most what dad wants is traditionally Japanese food and I like it, but I see some foods in movies and I want to try them.”
“So, you like watching movies?” He wanted to know what her hobbies and interests were in order to provide her with them so she wouldn’t get bored alone at the house when he was away.
“I watch a movie once every 2 weeks when Ino comes to visit me.”
“She only visited you two times a month?” He had believed the Yamanaka girl to be her best friend.
“Yes, that’s how many times father allowed her to come over…” Her voice so far had been light but it had a tint of sadness when she had revealed this last part.
“What about other hobbies. What do you do usually in a day?”
“Hobbies? Oh well, umm…Usually I wake up and if it’s a day where the cook is at work, I help him make breakfast, lunch and dinner. In between I had a few classes that the elders taught me about leadership. Neji and I usually have tea in the garden when he has the time…”
He was furious. Hiashi was killing her. He didn’t allow her to leave, but she couldn’t get visitors, she wasn’t allowed to do anything but exist. He wasn’t sure if he could wait three months for her to move it. Hinata was his and she was unhappy. He could tell Hinata was feeling a bit awkward because of her answer which is why he didn’t push it. The food came and they ate in silence. Hinata had loved her burger. She tried all 4 souses and really liked the sweet chilli and the honey mustard one. After the waiter took their empty plates Sasuke ordered dessert.
“Did you enjoy the food?”
“I did. The burger was much better than the one I made home…” Her smile had returned on her face. Despite the fact that he had been against the marriage before, Sasuke was eager for it now. From the moment he had laid his eyes on Hinata this feeling overcame him, the need to protect and please her. She was his and he would keep her safe and happy no matter what. Whatever she’d ask for he’d give her, if she wanted the moon, he’d find a way.
“I’m glad you liked it. Next time tell me what other foods you want to try and I’ll think of a place to go.” Hinata agreed. They talked a little more about the food when the dessert finally came. He had ordered a lava cake with vanilla ice cream, according to many people that was the best dessert the restaurant offered.
“There’s only one. Do you want to split it?” Hinata asked but Sasuke only shook his head and pushed the plate in front of her.
“I don’t particularly like sweets so you can eat it.” He watched her enjoy the cake. She had giggled after cutting into it and seeing the molten chocolate pour out. She had never eaten a lava cake, of course. His chest felt tight, like something was squeezing his heart and wouldn’t let go. He couldn’t stop thinking about how Hiashi had sheltered her from all these small pleasures of life, he wanted to hit the older man, but at the same time, he couldn’t wait to see Hinata experience everything for the first time. It was like watching a child, she had the same big and innocent eyes.
When Hinata finished the cake, the waiter took the plate and brought the check for which Sasuke paid but they didn’t get up to leave yet. “I have a few things for you” he said. And pulled from his pocket a new phone with the charger and its pair of headphones. “I already programmed my number there and Naruto’s; he will be your bodyguard. If anything happens during these months when you are still living with Hiashi call me and if by any chance I can’t pick up call him.”
Hinata was staring at the phone like it was alien technology. “You’re giving me a phone?”
“Yes. I want to be in touch. Sadly, I can’t come and eat with you every day so on the days we can’t meet I want you to call me. I’ll call you as well when I get home if it isn’t too late and we can talk, you can tell me about your day and such” Hinata nodded and took the phone from him and stared at it for a second longer. “You can add any number you want, Neji’s, Ino’s, your sister. It will be helpful to have them for when you come and live with me and feel lonely.”
“I can add other numbers…?” Hinata was once again hit with the realization that Sasuke was offering her freedom and she didn’t know how to take it. She was overwhelmed by the fact that she had a phone, let alone that she could use it to call Ino.
“Of course. It has an unlimited number of minutes and internet too. You can watch movies if you wish. Also, if you want to buy something online use the phone, I programmed it so it would automatically take money from my account and I’ll be notified.”
Hinata was trying her best to keep tears from spilling. For some reason the fact that he allowed her the freedom of a fully functional phone felt like a huge step, he was putting his trust in her. At that moment Hinata made a promise to never betray his trust. In the few hours that Sasuke was the one in charge of her, he had been more indulging and kinder than her father had been during 22 years.
“And the last thing” Sasuke said as he took a red velvet box out from his other pocket. He opened it and inside was the most beautiful ring she had ever seen. The band was made of white gold and it had a big red ruby in the middle and on each side three smaller diamonds. The ring wasn’t overly huge, but it was beautiful. “I didn’t have the time to give this to you yesterday, I’m sorry” Hinata shook her head, there was nothing he should apologize for.
Sasuke held out his hand for her to place hers in so he could slip the ring onto her finger. It fitted perfectly and looked gorgeous on her finger. It felt a little strange, she had never put on rings on her left hand because it was considered bad-luck, so the feeling was foreign but she knew it would go away soon enough and the ring would turn into something that brought her peace at all times just from looking at it.
“I love it thank you” The squeezing was back and more powerful this time. She was wearing his ring. He had proof to show to the world that she was his. Sasuke was the one to get up first and Hinata followed. They walked out of the restaurant and back to the car hand in hand.
It was barely 2 in the afternoon. “I’m sorry I can’t spend more time with you today.”
“It’s ok. It was more than enough. I had a wonderful time, thank you” Hinata was still looking at the ring with a smile on. It was weird how something that yesterday felt like the end of the world, today felt like the beginning. Her heart fluttered when Sasuke opened the box and showed her the ring and it violently beat in her chest as he was putting it on her finger. Maybe marrying her off was the best thing her father could do.
They reached the Hyuuga house faster than either of them would have liked. “I’m not coming inside this time” Sasuke said as he walked her to the door. Hinata just realized that that had been her first date. She saw similar scenarios in the movies she watched with Ino. The boy walked the girl to the door after their date and he would kiss her. Would Sasuke kiss her? Did she want him to? A part of her was scared but the other part of her was screaming ‘KISS ME’. But Sasuke didn’t kiss her, at least not on the lips. Just like last night he kissed her forehead and left saying goodbye.
Hinata walked inside the house and it felt even colder and duller than normally. She wasn’t sure she could survive another three months there, not when freedom with Sasuke was that close. Hinata didn’t go to tell her father she was home, instead, she ran up the stairs to her room where Mina and Harushi were waiting for her. Her servants were a few years older than her, yet Hinata had never considered them friends because Hiashi drilled the belief that servants were to be servants since she was small, but her dad had been wrong before, so maybe he was wrong on this occasion as well.
The two girls bowed to her and Hinata stopped. She wasn’t sure how to act, a sudden image from a movie popped into her mind. When one of the girls would tell the others about her crush and they’d all jump up and down and screech. So, she took in a deep breath.
“You can raise your head” she said in her normal tone. The girls did as she asked. Taking in another breath she extended her left hand for them to see the ring. “Isn’t it beautiful?” Her energy was overflowing and she couldn’t contain it anymore. She started jumping up and down and laughing.
“Today was the best day ever. He was so lovely and just everything was amazing.” Hinata took one of Mina’s hands and one of Haruhi’s and started jumping up and down. The servants looked at one another before starting to laugh too and jumping with her.
“The ring is lovely” “And he’s so handsome” “I’m glad you had a lovely date Hinata-hime” “Did he tell you when the next one will be?” The two were talking alternatively.
“He didn’t but he gave me a phone and said he’ll call everyday he can’t see me” She showed them the phone as well. Hinata wanted to call Ino as soon as possible but she didn’t know her friend’s number. Whenever she wanted to talk to Ino she’d use Neji’s phone. Hinata started walking towards the door to the hallway, she wanted to look for Neji to get him to put his number and Ino’s in her phone.
The rest of the day went by faster than most of her days do. She talked to Ino on the phone for hours then took a bath and as she was changing in her night attire her phone rang. Sasuke had kept his promise to call her when he got home. She told him about talking to Ino and asked about his own day. Their conversation wasn’t very long but it still made Hinata smile. She fell asleep with a smile on her face and thoughts of Sasuke in her mind.
________________________
The following morning the first thing she did upon waking up was to check her left hand to make sure the ring was there and that it wasn’t all just a dream. She couldn’t help but smile upon seeing the piece of jewellery.
Sasuke’s question about hobbies bothered her a little, she had never really had the means of finding a hobby, she either didn’t have the time or didn’t know what to try besides cooking recipes she made up. But now she no longer needed to attend the leadership classes, her father informed her of that at breakfast, and she now had access to the internet, she could try learning a new skill, discover what she liked to watch or read, find out something she enjoyed doing. That was on her to-do list until she met with Sasuke the next time, get a hobby.
Ino liked gardening and making flower arrangements, Hinata liked helping her around the garden as well but doing the arrangements themselves was always difficult and not particularly enjoyable. The one thing she knew she’d like was drawing but was a bit scared. She had always doodled on her notes but had never tried to do an artwork. So that was the first thing she looked up on youtube, drawing videos. She found many and every single one was more amazing than the one before.
Hinata immersed herself in the videos and all the different ways in which one could create art.
________
Despite being in the middle of work Sasuke couldn’t help but think about Hinata and the things she said during their date a few days ago. She was basically a teenager getting her first phone. Sure, she knew a shit ton about leadership, her family and their world but she knew nothing about the outside world, technology and real human relationships. She didn’t know herself either, that part, seeing her figure out who she was as a person, what she enjoyed and what she didn’t, would be lovely to watch. But Sasuke was still confused about how Hiashi thought he could shelter his heir from everything, had Hinata been the leader she would have been lost, not because she wasn’t fit for it but because she didn’t know how to navigate her way through the outside world, she didn’t know what to do when someone wasn’t giving her orders. Her father had succeeded in turning her into someone submissive not because she was weak but because she had never been given the opportunity to be independent. Hinata had amazing skills, she knew over 5 languages and was taught how to fight, but she didn’t know many basic things.
Sasuke kept thinking of the best ways to slowly expose Hinata to more of the outside world and its customs, the Yamanaka girl wasn’t as sheltered but she wasn’t exactly well versed in ‘normality’ either. Naruto would spend a lot of time with her too but he couldn’t entrust the blond to teach her things, who knows what dumb stuff he would fill her head with. Of course, the obvious solution would be his mother, she was the sanest out of everyone he knew and she could help her prepare for the life of ‘the wife of the Uchiha leader’, but he would like to assign someone that’s around their age as well, someone Hinata could consider a friend and not feel overly anxious around.
Before he could find the perfect candidate, his cousin Shisui came to inform him his father wanted to talk to him. He forced himself to focus on work, but lingering thoughts of Hinata distracted him every now and again. He was still worried about her being in the Hyuuga household still, time seemed to be moving in slow-motion, the beginning of September appeared to be years away.
________
Her eyes were sparkling as she was telling him all about the painting tutorials she watched the past three weeks, she apologized for wasting so much money on ordering acrylic paints and brushes. When Hinata mentioned the money issue his temper almost got the best of him, Hiashi had so much money, enough to have a Rolex to ear for every day of the year, yet he couldn’t allow his daughter under 100 dollars to buy paints? Not to mention, but Hinata’s perception of money was off, she apologized for spending 12 dollars on a tube of paint without knowing that the phone she ordered it with was almost a thousand times more expensive. Hiashi only ever spent money on his daughters if it fit his needs, he dressed them well so people could see their wealth, Hinata had been nothing but a trophy.
“I’m sorry I asked for your address, but I just don’t want the order to come to the Hyuuga estate, I’m sure father would destroy everything I bought…” Hinata said, the tips of her ears red, as if she was embarrassed for having him as a father. It wasn’t her that should have been embarrassed but Hiashi.
“It was a nice surprise, seeing you order and send things over to my place already made it even more obvious to me that the wedding is going to happen soon” That wasn’t a lie. When her first order of brushes and canvases arrived Sasuke asked the servants to clear a whole room downstairs, one that had a glass wall towards their garden and turn it into a painting studio. Besides what she ordered he got more, he bought every type of paint there was, acrylic, water, oil and many others. He even talked to Sai, one of his workers that is a famous painter and asked if he would be open to giving Hinata a few hours, of course, provided she was fine with the idea as well.
“H-how do you feel about the marriage…? I can’t imagine you were pleased with it…” her face was lowered, her eyes watching as she was playing with her hands in order to distract herself from the question. She was scared he’d say he hated the idea, especially since over the past month since the announcement, her feelings slowly turned to happiness and excitement.
“I was slightly annoyed when dad first told me. But I’ve changed my mind and I cannot wait” Sasuke answered and placed one of his hands on top of hers to calm her down. “It drives me mad knowing you’re stuck in that house for another 2 months. I have to constantly fight the urge to just sneak in and kidnap you” His tone was light thus turning his words into a joke, Hinata giggled at it, but Sasuke was dead serious.
“I’m glad” Hinata admitted and grabbed his hand with both of hers and brought it to her lips and kissed his knuckles. Her feelings for Sasuke were complex, they started out as indifference when they were simply just individuals belonging to the same world, then they turned to fear and maybe a light form of hate the moment Hiashi announced she had been sold off, but after spending the slightest time with him, she felt relief, admiration and gratitude towards him. He represented a better future, one with freedom and happiness, a future away from her father. Sasuke was her saviour, but even those feelings started to change, her heart would flutter whenever his voice echoed from her phone, she’d constantly check for new texts from him, the days in between their meetings were the longest, while the time spent with him seemed to be so short. Every time he kissed her hand or her forehead she wanted to grab onto his face and bring it down to her face, she wanted to hold his hand, to hug him, but the urge she had most often and the one hardest to fight was to ask for the wedding to be held earlier. Whenever Sasuke drops her off at the Hyuuga estate she wants to ask him to marry her right that moment so she could go home with him.
She spoke to Ino about her feelings and about Sasuke, Ino told her that she was so glad the Uchiha was so nice to her, but that she should be careful, her feelings appeared out of nowhere and they developed so fast, she shouldn’t get too attached to him, shouldn’t become totally dependable of him because in their world ‘love’ was never one to last. Ino’s view on love was jaded after her parents’ divorce, Ino’s father was devastated when his wife left him and his daughter was there to pick up the pieces. Hinata was aware her friend was trying to warn her and shelter her from future heart break, but the thought of Sasuke hurting her seemed outlandish.
They ate pasta this time around, and with every bite, her eyes got bigger and bigger. “This is the best thing I have ever eaten. How can something be this delicious?” She kept praising the food throughout, whenever the waiter came to ask if they needed anything else Hinata would ask him to tell the chef that he is a genius, that his food is the most amazing thing ever. Sasuke smirked and shook his head every time.
“I can stay for longer today, is there anything else you’d like to try?” He asked her as they were walking around the pedestrian central part of Konoha. Hinata had been utterly confused with the concept of a part of the city denying car access, whenever they crossed a street, she’d still check for cars despite Sasuke assuring her that there was no way for one to get there. The central part was crowded and busy with people, Hinata stood a step behind Sasuke trying not to bump into anyone, looking over his shoulder at her to see if she heard his question Sasuke realized she had not, she was far too focused on not hitting anyone to concentrate on anything else. Reaching for her with his hand, he placed his arm around her waist and drew her close to his body. Her face instantly turned beet red and she looked up at him. He lowered his face towards her and Hinata’s brain picked up speed, he would surely kiss her, but there? In front of all those people? Wasn’t a public kiss a bit too much? However, his face passed by hers and only stopped when his lips were next to her ear “I asked if there is anywhere else you want to go. It’s too loud and you couldn’t hear me”
Due to her embarrassment and agitation, she simply pointed at a random building, which turned out to be a Starbucks. The two of them walked together, Sasuke still holding her by the waist, but upon walking into the café he let go, she was disappointed, but only for a moment, for he was simply letting go in order to hold her hand. Their fingers intertwined and the world fell into place, the smell of coffee wasn’t overpowering, actually, the café smelled more of chocolate. Sasuke stopped before reaching the end of the line.
“Take a look at the menu, being here for the first time can be overwhelming with all the options. If you want, we can buy so pastries as well” He already knew well that she enjoyed sweets very much. “What do you usually get?” Her eyes were glued to the menu reading all the ingredients for each beverage.
“I don’t think you’d like what I get. I get a large Americano with 3 espresso shots and no sugar.” Upon hearing his order Hinata scrunched her nose in a disgusted expression, she looked up at him. “So you drink just…black coffee, willingly?” he couldn’t help but laugh at her disbelieve “My dad drinks it that way too, says that putting anything else in coffee is blasphemy. I once asked for sugar and he got so mad… I hadn’t had coffee since then” Her story left a sour taste in his mouth.
“Maybe I’ll get a large Latte with 3 shots of espresso and one cube of sugar after all…” That conversation made him realize that there was nothing he’d hate more than her believing him and Hiashi had anything in common, he’d drink sweet coffee with milk from now until forever if it meant distancing himself from her father’s image. The change in his order made Hinata smile. “I decided as well, I want a vanilla and cinnamon Frappuccino with almond milk” Sasuke placed their orders and out a few fruit tarts as well. Their lunch date turned to a dinner date as well, which had been the longest period they had spent together in one day, thus making it especially hard when it was time for Sasuke to drop her off. Hinata watched from the hallways window as his car slowly disappeared behind the huge gates of their estate, watching him leave made her heart hurt. She knew Sasuke hated leaving her as well, still, she couldn’t help but feel abandoned.
“Are you back?” Hanabi asked as she exited the library, she probably had just finished one of her classes. All of Hinata’s bitterness towards her sister disappeared, now she only felt pity. Hanabi would be stuck in the house forever and she would be free, it was scary how one’s view on certain events could change so fast. Barely a few days ago Hinata thought she was the one being punished, but now realized it was her sister.
“Yes I’m back” Despite her pitying Hanabi, the two weren’t close enough to offer kind words of encouragement and support. “But I’m a bit tired so I’ll go to sleep”
“He didn’t hit you, did he?” it was barely a whisper, but it made Hinata’s blood boil. Her alliances changed the moment Sasuke treated her nicely, hearing Hanabi badmouth him made her want to scream at her sister, but she didn’t. She turned around slowly and smiled. “He didn’t. He would never. He won’t. he isn’t father, there is nothing about him similar to father” Hinata didn’t stay behind to hear Hanabi’s reply. She ran up the stairs and the moment her bedroom door was closed she called Sasuke, he picked up on the second ring.
“I miss you” The words were out of her mouth before she even realized, but she didn’t regret them. “I miss you” she repeated, to show to Sasuke, to herself that she meant them.
“I miss you too” his voice was softer than she had ever heard it, it was a shame she couldn’t see his expression. She closed her eyes and wished for the weeks to fly by.
________
Despite her newfound freedom in the form of a phone with full access to the internet, Hinata’s days seemed to move slower than ever. The time in-between her ‘dates’ with Sasuke were dragging on forever. She’d talk to Ino on the phone, watch videos, read from an ebook, listen to music, cook and barely 2 or 3 hours of the day would have passed. The highlight of her day was always her chat with Sasuke. Apart from their night calls, they kept texting throughout the day as well, but he was busy with work so his replies were few and far in between. Wasting time and dreaming of her future became her routine, each day seemed to be a carbon copy of the previous one. Not today, however, today was a special day, today she, Mikoto and Ino were going to choose her wedding dress. Hinata was practically bouncing, eager to leave the house, eager to try the dresses on, eager to see herself in white, the dress would be proof not only that the wedding was getting nearer, but also that it was indeed reality and not one of her daydreams.
She had been worried her father wouldn’t have allowed for it, but both Fugaku and Sasuke assure him that Naruto, her future bodyguard, was the best and he would be able to protect the three women for the day. Thankfully her father was just as excited about the wedding and would not go and do anything to potentially ruin his newfound friendship with the Uchiha head.
The plan was for Naruto and Mikoto to get to her house around noon, then they would drive to Ino’s and to the dress shop. After picking up the dress they’d go to eat and see the wedding venue and all the plans Mikoto arranged, to make sure Hinata liked everything and if she didn’t so they could change everything by the wedding which was 3 weeks away. Hinata woke up at 7, unable to contain her longing to be outside, she got dressed up, ate and has spent the last 4 hours pacing around the entrance hall.
When her father passed by her early in the morning he lectured her, telling her how she should behave, be respectful, yet vigilant because ‘people are mean and cruel’ because ‘the shop isn’t on out territory’, because ‘you are always in danger.
Neji also spent about half an hour with her talking about her feelings about the wedding, her impression of Sasuke. Her stories and happiness eased his mind and guilt, for he had not been able to stop the arranged marriage. He truthfully wished for her excitement to never die; he hoped the Uchiha household would be a proper environment for her growth.
The only one in the Hyuuga household that was not on board with the marriage was Hanabi. She continued making remarks about Sasuke’s renowned cruelness, hinting that Hinata would not know happiness in her marriage with him. She constantly asked whether he had any violent tendencies towards her, whether he ignored her, whether he cheated on her. Hinata always tried to not let her words get to her, Sasuke was wonderful and more than she had ever hope for, she had no reason to doubt him, so all of Hanabi’s words never had any impact but annoy her. Hinata always defended Sasuke and Hanabi would answer ‘my foolish sister’, patronizing her, making it seem as if she knew more than Hinata herself. Hinata tried to understand where Hanabi was coming from…all of her life she had hoped to be the heir and now she was. But Hinata’s happiness was yet another source of jealousy for Hanabi, she was slowly realizing that once again, she was the one who had the short end of the stick, thus all of her remarks weren’t for Hinata to believe, but for herself. She tried so hard to convince herself Hinata’s future was bleak and Hanabi had to pity her, not the other way around.
Once again, right before Mikoto and Naruto arrived Hanabi made a remark that hurt Hinata’s feelings, a remark which Hanabi too regretted instantly, her remorse could be read on her face, but her ego stopped her from apologizing. “Make sure you pick a pretty dress Hinata, that’s what you’ll be buried in when he kills you on the wedding night” she said loud and clear, for the servants around to hear, had Hiashi been there he would have punished Hanabi for trying to destroy the Hyuuga-Uchiha Union, but all Hinata did was give her a sad smile and answer with “Good luck to you too little sister” Their relationship could never be fixed, not when jealousy was the primal feeling Hanabi held for her, not when her ego stood in the way of a sincere apology, not when Hinata was resigned and no longer wished to try.
Mikoto came like a hurricane, she entered the house without knocking, she hugged Hinata and kissed both of her cheeks, she complimented her on her dress and make-up. Behind her was a blond young man that gave her a warm smile. “This is Naruto, he will be your bodyguard when you enter the family”
Naruto took a step closer but made no attempt to touch her, he simply smiled wider and bowed his head slightly. “It’s a pleasure to meet and protect you Miss Hinata” Naruto’s use of her name and not of Hyuuga felt odd, but freeing; she wanted to move past this family. She would not forget them, for they were part of her, they made her who she was at that moment, but she wanted to leave them and this variation of herself behind, she wanted to become independent and someone she chose to become.
After picking Ino up the group was ready to go to the dress shop, Mikoto had asked Ino to sit in the front seat for she wanted to talk to Hinata in the back. Hinata couldn’t help but notice her friend’s red cheeks whenever she looked Naruto’s way. Hinata couldn’t tell if the flushness was due to the fact that Naruto was a man Ino had never had contact with when she was young, thus she wasn’t used to his company, or whether her blush had a deeper meaning. In the backseat, Mikoto explained certain details about the wedding preparations, her tone was light and she talked without any formalities. Whenever Hinata answered it was an awkward mix of formal and informal language and she refrained from addressing Mikoto directly, for she didn’t know what to call her, Mrs Uchiha, or was that too formal for someone to be her mother-in-law in 3 weeks? Mikoto, but wasn’t that rude to address in such a manner to an older relative?
Upon reaching the dress shop, the designer working there assured the women that she had reserved the whole shop just for them. She was eager to help and to please any and all of Hinata’s requests. “Call me Sakura!” she said as they met “no need for formalities, after all I am here to help you find what you will be wearing on the most important day of your life”
Hinata tried on 5 dresses before finding ‘the one’. It was perfect in every way possible. The bodice was made entirely of lace that was a bit see-through, thus had white material around the chest area in a heart shape. The skirt was long and flowy but not overly heavy, it had beautiful lace details on the bottom of the skirt and a split on the left leg until above the knee. It was a stunning dress, but so were all the ones before, however, the moment Hinata tried it on, it felt different, it felt right. Seeing herself in the mirror her eyes got a bit misty and in her overflow of emotion turned around to hug Sakura who just finished buttoning the last button at her back. She told her how she felt the dress was the one and Sakura’s eyes got a bit misty too. This is what she did that job for, these moments in which a young woman found her perfect one and only dress to wear on her wedding day, she lived to see the happy tears and all the smiles.
“Stay here for a second, I’ll announce that this is it, this is the dress” She learned in the years of doing this job that whenever an instant click between woman-dress happened it should always be said to the party that came to help pick the dress as well so they would not criticize anything and break the magic spell of the moment. “Hinata found it, her perfect dress” Sakura said just moments before Hinata walked in wearing the most radiant smile ever, Ino screamed and ran to hug her and shower her in compliments, Mikoto watched from the side-line as the three young women discussed how perfect the dress was. After a short while, Hinata turned to Mikoto with bashful red cheeks “What do you think Mrs. Uchiha?”
Mikoto went to her and hugged her close as well. “The dress is perfect, it’s everything I hoped you’d find and more” she made a short pause for she felt this pressure in the back of her throat as id she too was about to cry. “and please, call me mother, I know that the wedding will only be in 3 weeks, but you already are my child Hinata dear” Mikoto’s kindness and warmth only made Hinata cry more. Naruto watched with a smile the whole event, he too liked Hinata from what he had seen of her, he was glad his friend was lucky enough for the arranged marriage to lead him to her. Even before he met Hinata he saw Sasuke’s expression when talking about her, he heard the soft tone in which he spoke about her and could tell that his friend held a deep affection for his fiancé.
After the dress picking event, Hinata asked for Sakura’s number to call her in the instance of the dress needing anything done day-of the wedding, that was the excuse anyway, in reality, she simply felt as if the moment they shared in the dressing room was special and wanted to try and keep in contact with her. Their next destination was the wedding hall, followed by other shops to get the wedding shoes, jewellery and her second wedding outfit in which she would change after their first dance. Just like the days in which she had dates with Sasuke, the time flew by and soon enough it was dark outside and time for them to return. After dropping Ino off, instead of driving back to the Hyuuga estate, Naruto took a sudden left turn which led to Hinata’s confusion, doubt and for the smallest second fear. Mikoto placed her hand on her knee and smiled at her, letting her know there was nothing to be afraid of. Despite being quite late, it wasn’t dark out yet, the summer sun refused to set.
The car stopped in front of a restaurant Hinata knew. “Are we getting dinner as well?” She was wondering why did they drop Ino off, maybe Mikot had something to discuss with her in private? Before she could come up with any other speculations, her car door opened and a familiar face greeted her with a smirk on. Her heart started beating faster the moment her eyes met Sasuke’s. She placed her hand in his and was smoothly pulled out of the car and into his arms. “Thank you, mother for dropping her off.” He said and then nodded towards Naruto expressing his thanks to him silently. Hinata was still in a daze and looking up at him as if he was a mere hallucination.
“I finished work earlier and Naruto told me you guys were still out so I asked him to bring you to me” He explained the situation to her and ushered her towards the entrance of the restaurant. It was the same restaurant in which they ate that pasta, out of all the things they tried together those were her favourite. Looking up at Sasuke Hinata kept wondering how Ino could expect her not to fall for him when he treated her this way, he had brought her more joy than she had experienced in her whole life, the memories she had of him were her favourite. He was slowly and steadily becoming the centre of her universe.
Since the moment they got seated and he reached out to hold her hand and slowly brush her wrist with his thumb, Hinata had been fighting the urge to simply utter ‘I love you’. Was it too fast? They met about 2 months ago, they went on dates about twice a week maybe three times if Sasuke’s work allowed for that, however they talked daily, her thoughts were filled with him. She wasn’t confused, these feelings might have started as gratitude for being saved, but they were romantic, she was in love with him, that much she knew. Sasuke noticed how distracted she was during their meal, she barely complimented the chef, but he decided not to pry yet, however, her silence during their walk after dinner bothered him more than he cared to admit. He loved how her eyes sparkled when she spoke about things she loved. She stopped walking and turned to face her, cupping her face in his hands, her eyes fluttered shut for a moment. She looked so lovely, and so utterly small and fragile, he would protect her with everything he had, he would help her build her strength enough to be able to protect herself, but even then, when she was capable, he’d do everything in his power to destroy anything that posed as a threat to her, whether physical, emotional or mental.
“What’s the matter Hinata? You’ve been in deep thought all night” he had been excited to hear all about her day, Naruto kept him updated every hour, but hearing the events from her would have been much more entertaining. Hinata looked into his eyes longingly, he wasn’t sure what she wanted but whatever it was he would give it to her. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath in.
“I have been...thinking whether I should tell you something the whole night and I cannot seem to find the right answer, what do you think I should do?” her eyes were still closed, too scared to see his reaction. Sasuke was the one confused now, why would she be struggling in such a manner? She should always tell him everything, anything no matter how trivia, he wanted to know every single thought that went on in her mind.
Sasuke took a step closer to her, their bodies were almost touching and he was still affectionately holding her face. “I think you should tell me; I think you should always tell me everything” Hinata’s heart was beating out of her chest, she was scared to look into his eyes as she said it, but she wanted to see him as she said it too. Choosing to be brave today, choosing to believe that Sasuke would catch her when she fell, Hinata opened her eyes, placed both of her hands over his on her face and smiled.
“Ok, I will tell you” Her mind was made, but she still needed a second to compose herself. “I love you”
The feeling Hinata had when putting the dress on was similar to what Sasuke experienced upon hearing those words, however, the magnitude of his feeling was much stronger, it felt as if the planets aligned, as if all the events ever in the world and its history happened as they did in order to lead to this very moment. A star exploded that lead to the creation of a galaxy, to the creation of a planet, to the creation of humanity, all for this one single moment.
He had not thought in depth about his feelings for Hinata, not because he didn’t want to admit them, but rather because it was unknown territory, but the moment she uttered the words he knew them to be true on his side as well. “I’m glad” he answered, his voice cracked so he cleared his throat. “I’m glad you decided to tell me” Hinata’s smile was stunning, she had told him and he was happy, he was moved, she could see a myriad of emotions in his eyes, all slowly falling into place. Sasuke wanted to say the words back but felt oddly fearful and uncertain, he had never experienced that level of awkwardness. “I do too” he muttered feeling defeated, he had chickened out and took a shortcut, but he will try to work harder, he will be able to express his feelings.
Hinata wasn’t mad or sad or disappointed by his answer, she could tell he was trying his best and if she were honest, it was lovely seeing him be the flustered one for a change. They were still in the same position, their faces close to each other, so Hinata once again took the initiative and raised on her tip-toes and kissed him, it was merely a peck. She knew the Uchiha traditions now and wished to follow them thus not being able to fully kiss him, however, the moment felt monumental enough for a small peck to be excused, plus nobody would ever know.
Sasuke stared at her for a moment longer, she was such a complex antithesis, she was weak yet strong, afraid yet brave, clueless yet intelligent, and everything about her made him glad for all the decisions he ever took that led him to her. He was thankful to his father which without even realizing he showed, since his and Hinata’s engagement was announced he and Fugaku have been getting along much better, everything at work went smoother and he often worked harder and faster in order to get a day off to spend with her. Hinata too helped him, their relationship was equally beneficial to both, they both took and both gave.
________
All of the final preparations for the wedding were coming along beautifully, the big event was the next day, but for Hinata even that was too long, the past three months had felt longer than her whole life before her engagement. Everything was better in the Hyuuga household, Neji and her were closer than ever, for he was finally able to be fully honest with her and she too was much happier and open. Her father mostly left her alone, apart from a small incident in which he admitted that he had spoken to her doctors to have her fertility tested almost half a year ago when he and Fugaku were first talking about the union, the test came back positive, but Hinata still felt like that was a huge invasion of her privacy and complained to Sasuke, who in turn argued with both of the older men, but the deed was long done and there wasn’t much he could do but think even lower of Hiashi and treat his father coldly for a while, until Hinata assure him that she had moved past that issue. Even Hanabi stopped her remarks after the incident on the wedding-dress day. After choosing the dress she and Mikoto went out to spend time together a few more times, she even met up separately with Ino and Sakura twice. When Hinata talked about her new friendship with Sasuke he was, in her words ‘delighted’; Sasuke had hoped for the wedding dress girl to become Hinata’s friend after she first told him about her. He had wanted her to have a friend that was well-versed into normality in order to help Hinata at times navigate society, however, he wished for that friendship to bloom naturally, sure he could have done as others would, namely bribe someone into being her friend, but that would only cause issues later, plus being close to Hinata is payment enough.
The weekend before the wedding Hinata was invited to have dinner at the Uchiha estate, she and Mikoto were already very close, however, Fugaku still scared her a little while Itachi seemed nice, but maybe a bit cold and detached, unwilling to fully interact with this world. He reminded her a little of herself when she still lived at the Hyuuga household. Being able to form that connection, after dinner she sought him out and talked to him alone, trying to relate his feelings with her own. Itachi wanted to be freed from his family much like she did, however, the ties keeping him there were much stronger, he loved all of his family but could not fully function and integrate into their world of organized crime.
After her talk to Itachi ended, Fugaku apologized for breaching her privacy and welcomed her to the family. She knew how much that meant, her father had never apologized for anything, so she could only imagine how hard it must have been for Fugaku to step over his pride and ego, she appreciated it more than she let on.
The night before the wedding Hinata had a dream, in that dream, she and Sasuke were laying together on a bed just looking at each other while holding themselves close, she felt at peace with her surroundings and Sasuke’s eyes on her made her feel seen and loved. The whole dream was peaceful, they sit in silence, then talk a little followed by kisses and laughs, which would quiet down to silence and the circle would start anew.
When her servants woke her up at 5 am, she wasn’t annoyed as she normally would have been before any other event, she had taken with her the peacefulness of her dream, she had waited so long for this day it almost felt like this was just another dream too, but the scrubbing her servants did during her bath stung, letting her know that this was reality, the happiness she felt was going to be a constant, for Sasuke will make sure to keep her smiling throughout their whole lives.
Unlike the preparations for other events in which Hinata didn’t particularly care about her looks, she was very specific this time around, she and Mikoto picked together her hairstyle too, her makeup colours and every little detail. Time seemed to dilate at times and a minute felt like an eternity, while other times it felt as if it were on fast-forward, she’d close her eyes for a second and a full hour would have passed.
By 9 am she was completely done, looking at herself in the mirror she remembered the day the engagement was announced, how picturing herself next to Sasuke felt strange, but now, picturing herself without him felt unnatural, her brain and heart finally agreed and they both knew Sasuke was her everything, he would be the one and only to ever stand by her side. While she was admiring herself in the mirror Neji walked in, telling her it was time to go to the church, the wedding was about to begin.
Nothing could ruin her perfect day, not even Hiashi holding her hand proudly as he walked her down the aisle, not even Hanabi refusing to make eye contact with her, all she could see and all that mattered was Sasuke at the end of the red rug, standing tall and handsome. Everything that had happened before in her life almost didn’t matter, this was the moment her life began. She barely heard anything the priest said, her answers were mostly done on auto-pilot, only when it was the moment for the rings to be exchanged did her eyes water, hearing Sasuke say ‘I do’ was a memory she’ll treasure forever. Their first official kiss was short, much shorter than she had hoped it would be, but even that didn’t ruin her mood, for she had walked inside a Hyuuga and left an Uchiha.
It was during their first dance that Sasuke whispered “I love you” he softly into her ear, only for her alone to hear, it had taken him a bit longer than her but he got to the point in which he could express his feeling in words too, for he had told her he loved her countless times with his actions alone. “I love you too” she replied and pulled his face to her for a kiss, not caring remotely that people were watching her. She would not be punished for causing a scene, Hiashi had no more power over her and Sasuke would never cage her or treat her like an inferior. She had the freedom to do whatever she wanted, and her first choice was to kiss her husband in front of all of those people on her wedding night.

Octavinelle shows their desire for you (Failed)
This is a continuation of the Desire request made by this anon!! Scarabia’s one is coming out later!! I hope you this scenario reaches your expectations! Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!
Azul Ashengrotto
You were visiting Mostro Lounge one day because a certain furball was craving one of their special drinks and he was pestering you all day to get one. You finally caved in after the 1999th time the furball has mentioned about Mostro Lounge’s lovely delicacies.
Since you had saved up your madol and you and Grim both got pretty good results from the latest exams, you figured it was a good way to celebrate by treating yourself and Grim to a meal.
Your orders had just arrived at your table and the two of you began to enjoy your food.
“Grim, chew slowly, no need to rush things.” You said to Grim who was munching down on his food like a madman. You laughed and shook your head before going back to eat, when all of a sudden you heard a voice call out to you.
“Why, if it isn’t (Y/N)!” You looked up from your food to see the dorm leader of Octavinelle standing in front of your table.
“Azul-senpai!” You responded to him with a smile.
“Mind if I take a seat beside you?” He asked and you shook your head, signaling that it was okay for him to sit beside you.
“You usually don’t come here often.” Azul said as he sat next to you. “What’s the special occasion?” He asked.
“Ah! Well, me and Grim got some pretty good results on last month’s exams! So, I figured to come here to treat the two of us as a job well done.” You smiled to him.
“I see, then congratulations to the two of you.” Azul said, an idea popping into his head as he did. “Perhaps you would like a little reward for your hard work.” He said with a small smirk on his face.
“Hmm? Little reward? Azul-senpai, you don’t have to.” You smiled to your upperclassman, going back to enjoying your food, but a hand had caught your chin and made you turn to look at Azul.
“Oh, but you do.” Azul said, his free hand travelling to the back of your waist, pulling you closer to him.
“After all, it is a rare sight to see you here and enjoying yourself.” The hand on your chin pulled your face closer to his, your lips were about a millimeter away from each other.
It just takes a little more for the two of you to ki-
“Azul.”
Azul immediately froze in his tracks, you peeked over his body to see a very familiar second year standing behind the two of you.
“Jade-senpai!” You called out and the upperclassman responded with a closed-eye smile.
“Lovely to see you here today (Y/N).” He replied to you. “And Azul, there are customers waiting for you in the VIP lounge, might I suggest you head on over immediately?” Jade continued with a hint of menace towards his dorm leader.
“A-Ah, yes, right, well, have a lovely time here (Y/N).” Azul said to you and left, slightly grumpy and grumbling as he went past his vice dorm leader.
Jade Leech
“Goodbye Azul-senpai, take care!” You waved to your upperclassman as Jade took Azul’s seat beside you.
“Fufufu, (Y/N), you must eat your food before it gets cold.” Jade reminded you.
“Ah! You’re right, I was too busy wondering what Azul-senpai had meant by a little reward that I forgot my food.” You said and took a bite out of your dish. Jade simply let out a smile.
“I see, so, from what I have heard, you and Grim had gotten excellent results in the recent tests?” Jade questioned you and you nodded.
“Well, congratulations to the two of you.” Jade said and watched the two of you eat for a little while. He noticed that you were struggling with your dish.
“Fufufu, (Y/N), do you need some help?” Once those words left Jade’s lips, you immediately froze up, sighing internally.
“Y-Yes…” You stuttered, embarrassed of yourself for not being able to eat a dish properly. Although, I’m pretty sure it’s the students who cooked it too well done. Yes, Dear Reader-san, I am on your side on this and I blame the Octavinelle students for this.
So, you let Jade take your utensils and help you with your dish, you stared in awe as Jade managed to dice the tough meat into tiny little pieces. Jade then sets down the knife and uses the fork to pick up a small piece of meat.
“Jade-senpai? What’re you doing?” You asked, confused with your upperclassman’s actions at the moment. You immediately silenced yourself as Jade let his fingers of his free hand reach your chin and gently lifted your head slightly upwards.
“Oh, nothing much, I just wanted to let you try our dish without having you go through any hassle.” Jade said with a gentle smile, yet, he was slowly leaning in towards you and you were slowly being pulled towards him.
You hadn’t noticed that Jade had already set down the fork as the two of you continued to lean in towards each other, your lips were closer than ever. Jade opened his mouth slightly to mutter out the following words:
“Say ‘Ah’…”
“AHH!” A new voice appeared, leaving you and Jade in shock.
“KOEBI-CHAN!” And before you knew it, you were being pulled away by the twin brother of Jade.
“Why didn’t you tell us you were visiting?” Floyd continued to question you as the two of your walked further away from your table, leaving a dumbstruck Jade and Grim behind.
Floyd Leech
“Koebi-chan, next time you’re visiting, you should really tell us!” Floyd said as he dragged you around Mostro Lounge.
“Alright Floyd-senpai! I’ll be sure to give you a heads up next time!” You smiled and said.
“Hmm, what should we do first?” Floyd asked as he looked around.
“Well, we could go back and let me finish my food?” You told your upperclassman, the only thing on your mind at that moment was your unfinished food.
“Ehh? But it’s not fun!” Floyd said with a frown, the upperclassman continued to look around, trying to find something to do with you, after all, it was truly rare to see you at Mostro Lounge. It didn’t take Floyd too long to think of an idea.
“Ah!! I know! We should go for a swim!” Floyd suggested to you with a smile.
“But Floyd-senpai, aren’t you supposed to be working right now?” You asked.
“Ahh~ Azul and Jade won’t notice if we’re gone for a little bit.” Floyd said to you with a grin and continued to drag you towards the exit. “Plus, you promised that you’d go on a swim with me koebi-chan~” The upperclassman continued.
You guys began to head towards the exit of Mostro Lounge at full speed, due to Floyd being tall, your legs were having a slightly hard time trying to catch up with Floyd. Surprisingly, Floyd had noticed this.
“Ahahah! Koebi-chan is trying so hard!” Floyd laughed and stopped running, you pouted to him in response.
“Of course, your legs are longer than mine, your walking equals to me running.” You explained to your upperclassman. You were about to ask him to let you go back to your table so you could finish your food when you felt an arm on your back and another arm on your legs, and before you knew it, you were being lifted into the air.
You let out a small gasp as you come face-to-face with Floyd.
“Hahahaha! Koebi-chan is so light!” Floyd said, looking at you. The smile on his face slowly vanished as he continued making eye-contact with you, his face slowly leaned into yours as his hands on your figure tightened their grip on you and pulled you closer to him.
It was only a matter of time before-
“Floyd, what are you doing?” A very familiar voice was heard. You turned to the source of the voice to see Jade.
“Let’s get back to work before Azul comes back.” Jade said to his brother in a stern tone.
“Ehhh? But I haven’t played with koebi-chan!!” Floyd whined, hugging you closer to him.
“Azul would not be pleased to hear about this. Now, come, we must go back to work.” Jade said with a strict look on his face. Floyd let out a sigh as he saw the stern look on Jade’s face.
“Fine…” Floyd said and gently let you down from his hold.
“That’s better.” Jade said and turned to you with a smile. “So sorry about that (Y/N), we’ll be off now, enjoy your food.” Jade continued and did a small bow at you before going back to tending the customers of Mostro Lounge with his brother.
“Alright, good luck Jade-senpai and Floyd-senpai!” You wished them as you slowly went back to your table to finally enjoy your precious food.

TW Boys vs Durians
So my dad just bought some durian puffs for the family & that’s what prompted me to write this 😂😂 I personally love durians but ik there are many who can’t stand the smell. Just curious dear readers, but how do you feel about durians?
Scenario: G/N!MC feeling homesick and craving food from home asked Sam if he was able to obtain durians for them. The businessman was glad to oblige, for a decent price of course! How he gets them we will never know, but now MC has a whole bunch of these exotic fruit, so they set out to each dorm wanting to share some and feeling curious about everyone’s reactions.
*Bonus: Grim literally eats suspicious looking black rocks off the ground, so eating a durian is nothing special to him as he wolfs down the fruit hungrily. The Ramshackle dorm will definitely reek of said fruit for many days but neither of the occupants really mind~*
Riddle wrinkles his nose after catching a whiff of the durians. Because of his strict upbringing, he never got to eat too many different types of food unless his mother told him to. However being the dorm leader, he knew he had to set a good example to his dorm members, so he bravely took the first bite. It was definitely a strange flavour but he didn’t seem to mind too much.
Trey has actually heard of durians before given that his family runs a bakery, although he has never tried them. He gets used to the strong smell pretty fast and asks MC if he could keep some to use in baking for the next Unbirthday party. MC happily agrees and recommends making puffs, crepes and even chocolates.
Cater probably has the worst reaction out of all the Heartslabyul guys. He immediately backs up after smelling the fruit, refusing to get closer even with ADeuce constantly teasing him. It’s only when MC remarks that it would make for a pretty popular Magicam post does Cater approach, quickly using his camera’s burst mode to snap multiple photos.
Ace being quite adaptable, also gets used to the strong smell easily. He’s usually up for a little challenge and doesn’t mind trying out this new fruit. It didn’t go as smoothly as he hoped due to the mushy consistency but he managed to swallow his bite by downing it with some water.
Deuce is not the most enthusiastic about trying out this foreign food and the smell definitely didn’t help, but he musters up the courage to try it anyway, since it was MC who brought it. Didn’t help that Ace definitely taunted him to eat it. He actually takes it pretty well (even better than Ace), shyly remarking that he had eaten some pretty nasty stuff during his delinquent days.
Leona picks up on the foul scent of durian from a mile away, and it’s safe to say that this lion is definitely not eating whatever “fruit from hell” as he calls it, that MC had brought. He grumbles to them to remove it immediately as he doesn’t want to stink up the entire dorm, especially his room. MC had anticipated that reaction but comments slyly how lucky they were to be graced by the presence of two kings that day. (Durians are known as the king of fruits & Leona will always be king in my heart)
Jack initially thinks that MC had brewed a potion wrongly or something because they smelt weird. After explaining the situation, Jack apologetically declines trying some due to his sensitive nose and MC totally understands. Though they can’t help pouting slightly since they realized no one from this dorm would want to eat durians because of the off-putting smell.
Ruggie is the only Savanaclaw member who dares approach MC from the mention of food. Are they sure it’s not rotten? He can’t help feel suspicious because of the scent but decides to take MC’s word for it. With his deft hands, he swiftly takes some durian flesh and stuffs it into his mouth, while pinching his nose with his other hand. Secretly he willingly ate it knowing that he would be able to slack off on Leona’s duties since the scent would be stuck on him.
Azul gingerly pokes at the soft durian flesh as it oddly reminds him of his squishy octo-form. This is certainly something you don’t see everyday and he’s contemplating if it would be able to sell well in Mostro Lounge. He urges MC to share their findings regarding everyone’s reactions with him, promising to sign a mutually beneficial contract with them should the majority response be positive.
Floyd exclaims loudly about the durian odour but doesn’t seem too put off by it. He is definitely intrigued and even tries chomping on it in an effort to see which is stronger: his sharp teeth or the durian spikes, much to MC’s horror. He remarks that the texture is similar to the shellfish that he eats, and probably the only reason he’ll eat more is to tease people who hate the smell.
Jade is also intrigued but has a more subdued reaction as compared to Floyd. He’s not one to shy away from questionable food being a mushroom collector. He politely accepts the piece offered to him, thanking them for letting him try something new. Like Trey, he asks MC to let him keep some so that he may try experimenting with it for a new menu item.
Kalim is excited when MC cheerfully offers him some durian to eat as usually it’s the other way around where he throws a huge feast for them instead. He does comment on how it smells funky but doesn’t hesitate to taste it (at least after Jamil tried it first). Kalim has had his fair share of exotic foods so isn’t too bothered by the texture or smell. While the durian could never compare to his favourite coconut, he still enjoys it nonetheless.
Jamil isn’t too bothered by the smell either since he’s used to the scent of strong spices in their cooking. Besides he knows he will have to try it first regardless, since Kalim would be eating it. He is still thankful towards MC and even brews some refreshing tea to pair with the durian. Jamil chides Kalim who initially suggests throwing a durian party, but wouldn’t be against making some durian chips with MC since it was simple enough.
Vil is surprisingly not bothered by the strong smell, though he does remind MC to stay outside the dorm so as not to frazzle the other students. As a dignified celebrity he must always keep his cool, though he is tempted to eat some after hearing that the fruit is rich in nutrients and promotes healthy skin. Unfortunately he can’t due to having a photoshoot later but he’s definitely down to try some on his off days.
Rook is caught off guard initially, both from the appearance and smell of durian. He’s quick to recover but declines trying some, mentioning how he has to refrain from standing out when stalking his prey. Also MC swears they heard Rook muttering something about turning the spiky shell into a hunting weapon of sorts, though they choose to brush it off for their own safety.
Epel brushes off the smell like it’s nothing, which makes sense given his upbringing (I mean he literally made his own fertilizer and wasn’t fazed by that stench at all!) He’s eager to try some stating how manly it would make him since even the Savanaclaw people didn’t dare eat it, and ends up really enjoying it.
Idia panics upon seeing MC approaching his room holding the durian, thinking he is about to be attacked. Is this revenge for him beating them during the recent gaming night? And wow the smell was definitely something... He sarcastically remarks that if the spikes weren’t enough to kill anyone, the smell would definitely finish them off. Not to worry though, Idia has a super air filtration system built into his room that nullifies the stench easily.
Ortho is busy scanning this fascinating fruit and updating his already extensive database. Even if he can’t actually taste or smell it, he does want to be knowledgeable about it since MC claimed that it was one of their favourite foods.
Malleus is grateful that MC considers him a close enough friend to let him try something from their home. Humans certainly eat some interesting things don’t they? Still he feels some sort of kinship towards this fruit, perhaps it’s how the exterior seems intimidating to many, in contrast to its soft interior. He teases MC to be careful when handling the fruit so that they don’t prick their finger on the sharp spikes.
Lilia doesn’t hesitate to pluck a piece of durian from MC while hanging down from the ceiling and proceeds to munch on it, not fazed at all. He smugly states that it’s an acquired taste and thanks MC for letting him taste such exquisite food. His eyes twinkle in excitement when MC recounts how delicious durian ice cream is and volunteers to make some for the rest of dorm.
Silver is definitely woken up by the sudden pungent smell but relaxes after seeing his master and father calmly eating away. Lilia encourages him to try some which he accepts, although he falls asleep again not too long after. It is definitely a rare sight as no woodland animals gather near Silver that day, most likely avoiding him due to the smell.
Sebek almost screamed at MC for bringing something so foul-smelling into their dorm but held his tongue after seeing how excited they were. He would be spurred on to try some since Malleus had no problem eating it despite really not liking what he was about to put in his mouth. After all he couldn’t call himself a bodyguard if such a trivial fruit stumped him.

part 5 - part 7
Masterlist
Chapter Playlist
6 - a promise
Violet was uncharacteristically tight lipped as she dressed you the next morning. Part of you worried that the nosy maid had seen you on the balcony the night before, but you quickly remembered she’d gone to bed early after drinking too much.
She kept sending pitying glances in your direction, and you couldn’t for the life of you figure out why. Smoothing out your skirts, she grabbed the knife you’d hidden under your pillow and tied it securely at your side.
“For good luck?” she joked, though that pitying look crossed her feature as soon as the words left her mouth.
You’d been struck dumb, expression bewildered as to how she knew about the dagger.
“James,” she replied simply, patting the weapon for safe keeping.
The implication was both comforting and terrifying.
How much influence did her two friends truly possess within the castle walls?
Accompanying you to breakfast, Violet stopped you outside of the dining hall, hand tightening around your forearm.
“Please keep your head,” she whispered, glancing nervously around them. “No matter what you find on the other side of this door.”
It was an ominous warning, but you kept it in mind while she pushed open the door,’leading you inside.
For a moment, you were certain your heart had stopped working from pure horror alone.
King Brock Rumlow sat by your uncles side, laughing as a plate of meat and eggs was placed in front of him.
“My dear, it’s so wonderful you could join us,” Obadiah stood and motioned for you to sit across from Brock at the table. “Did you sleep well? I imagine you might have stayed up bubbling with excitement.”
“Uncle,” you greeted tensely, feeling Violet’s form freeze at the casual exchange. Keep your mind. You needed to stay calm.
Calm, even though your father’s murderer was smirking at you, only meters out of your grasp.
“Princess, I’m sure you’re familiar with King Brock Rumlow,” he motioned to the king who stood and bowed his head.
“Your highness,” he reached for your hand and pressed a kiss to your knuckles, lingering a moment too long for your comfort. “I’m sure this has been such a confusing and terrible time.”
You bit your tongue, swallowing down any backlash that stirred.
“Rest assured, King Brock has a very reasonable explanation for everything,” Obadiah invited the group to eat. You took your seat, trying to ignore the way Rumlow’s eyes devoured you. Like a lamb to slaughter, he looked positively ravenously at you.
“Your highness, it’s been a terrible misunderstanding,” he explained with a long sigh. “The Asgardians had been ordered to attack the border villages and I sent my men to help. There was skirmish and your father was murdered by that brutish Thor Odinson. They threw his body into the river before retreating. There was nothing we could do.”
Liar.
“You see? He was trying to defend the king,” Obadiah tilted his water goblet in your direction. “And to think, those barbaric Asgardians had the audacity to stand and mourn with you.”
Liar.
“I’m...” you never had been a very convincing actress (Peter had always told you so), but the performance you put on that morning would have rivaled the great Bard himself. “That is certainly distressing news.”
Obadiah eyed you, the reaction catching him by surprise.
“Brock has come to formally apologize for the confusion,” Obadiah started, watching you carefully for the slightest slip up. “He’s asked me for your hand as a means of reconciliation between the kingdoms.”
Your stomach dropped out, your lungs stopped moving, and you were certain both bellmen could hear your heart hammering anxiously against your chest.
Marriage... to that monster. The man you knew slayed your father. The man whose rumors of his late wife followed behind whispers of death and deceit.
Obadiah wanted to marry you off to him, for something. He had to have gotten something.
Your father out of the way, your brain supplied helpfully.
“With King Brock’s help, and the Kree army to the north, we will finally be able to stop those damned Wakandans and Asgardians from breaching our trade routes.”
Fingers tensing around your dining knife, you forced a smile on your face.
“Really?” you asked, throwing as much enthusiasm as you could stomach in the question. “Me? Married to a king?”
Obadiah paused, furrowing his brows, but Brock seemed unfazed.
“You’ll be my queen and we will rule this entire region,” he reached across the table and took your hands. “We can make the arrangements post haste.”
“Why not a fortnight from today?” Obadiah suggested, a cruel smile spreading over his face. “I’ll start the servants on things today.”
“If you insist,” Brock laughed, an empty sound that stabbed deep into you. “What say you, my dear?”
You turned to your uncle, a cold mask over your true thoughts.
“Must we wait a fortnight?” you asked, your lip jutting out in a pout. “Surely a more intimate ceremony can be put together in the next week?”
You could tell Obadiah was trying to guess your plan, the king trying to call your bluff but agreeing wholeheartedly.
“Such eager lovebirds,” he bellowed with another laugh. “Bring the wine, we have much to celebrate today.”
You managed to get through the breakfast, face hurting from all the forced and held smiles that fought against your cringing.
After the meal ended, you excused yourself to lay down for a a while, the excitement having tired you out.
Instead of your chambers, however, you hurried to the observatory, praying to the gods that Stephen was inside.
You found him curled on one of the cots, red cloak strewn over his shoulders, deep asleep. That peace was broken once you tried to quietly shut the door. His eyes flickered open and he took you in with a sleepy smile.
“Your highness,” he greeted, sitting up while you moved to sit across from him. Sensing your sour mood, he reached tenderly for your hands. “He told you.”
“You knew?” you asked, broken that he would keep such pertinent information from you.
“I found out early this morning,” he admitted. “I spent the evening trying to think of a way to make it right, but have kept coming short.”
“I don’t believe that,” you smirked toward a book open to a page detailing the effects of belladonna.
“I realized murder would be frowned upon,” he murmured. “And I think the court would be suspicious if the king and his allies turned up dead all at once.”
“They’re blaming Asgard for my father’s death,” you explained. “They intend to invade after the wedding.”
“How long do we have?” he asked, eyes scanning your face for a hint of good news.
“I uh, I may have made a mistake in that regard,” you replied, expression contorting in guilt. “Initially it was a fortnight, but Obadiah didn’t seem to believe that I would comply. So I suggested seven days.”
“Why would you need to be compliant?” he asked.
“I don’t know, Violet told me to keep my temper under control, so it seemed like the smart thing to do,” you threw your head back in exasperation.
“You aren’t wrong,” he replied, quickly explaining the dilemma Peter had outlined the night before. “But a week means our timetables must move up.”
He grabbed a piece of parchment and a quill, quickly scribbling a message and holding it in his palm. It disappeared in a poof of smoke.
“What was that?” you pressed, following him with your gaze when he stood up and paced the room.
“You’ll find out soon enough,” he assured her. “Just trust me. There are many forces at work. Don’t make any more moves without first telling me. Promise me.”
You tilted your head, reading his exhausted expression and nodding your head slowly.
How could you not trust him?
He smiled, a sight that sent your heart rushing, in a good way. Moving toward him, you cupped his cheek and stood on your toes to give him a soft kiss.
“Careful princess,” he growled as the kiss became more heated and he stumbled back into one of the chaise’s, your body pressed flush against him. “Don’t start what you don’t intend to finish.”
The warmth inside of you screamed to finish the job, but his warning hit a more rational part of your brain and you pulled away in disappointment.
“Soon,” you promised in a terse whisper, wishing you could ducal your head into a cool pond.
“I have every intention of keeping you to that,” he replied, shifting slightly and adjusting the front of his robes with a sigh. His face flushed, pupils dilated.
Gods you could have had him then and there.
Another folded piece of parchment appeared on the table and you quickly snatched it up, reading over the familiar handwriting before Stephen could jump up from the chaise.
“You’re working with Loki?” you asked, holding up the paper. “You do know it’d be suicide for him to show his face in this kingdom.”
“The guard is on our side,” he explained briskly, grabbing the letter and reading it over. “We need to delay this as much as possible. If he challenges Brock to a duel, the law dictates the match must be honored.”
“Were you not the one worried about Brock’s sudden influx in power?” you asked incredulously. “He’s up to something sinister. Loki will get himself killed!”
“I said trust me,” he countered sharply. “Please, princess. I’m doing this all for you and we need a little more time. Besides, it will get Loki into the castle undetected by Amora.”
You’d almost forgotten about the enchantress. Brock spoke highly of her during breakfast and you’d had the pleasure of meeting the blonde haired woman at the end of the meal. Even from a distance, you could sense there was something wicked about her.
“You will be careful?” you asked, knowing that even if the reassurance was empty, it was something.
“We will do our best,” he promised quietly, both of you knowing full well he was lying.
(—)
Natalia hated wandering to this side of the forest. She knew she could reasonably fight off any ne’er do wells or rogues, but she also knew that the mystics and magic users liked to use the thick foliage coverings as a means of hiding from the public.
Not everyone could serve in a castle and villagers were fickle, superstitious folk.
Still, it was where Michelle had told her to meet with Wanda, the sorceress having passed the message long in hopes of the pair crossing paths.
“My cottage is just around the meadow,” Wanda chimed up, breaking Amat’s train of thought with an amused smile. “You’re early.”
“I wanted to make sure the area was secure,” Nat replied, her fingers dropping from the dagger she’d been about to pull. “Quite a way of passing along a message.”
“I needed to ensure its discretion, I apologize for the roundabout means,” she answered sincerely, moving toward a small cottage and opening the door for her guest. “We have much to discuss.”
“Couldn’t you have passed it along the princess or Strange?”
“It’s not yet the time for them to know,” she hummed, snapping her fingers and igniting the fire under a tea kettle. That had caught the assassin’s interest and she waited until Wanda continued. “You’re aware no body of the king was found?”
“They buried an empty box,” Natalia nodded, glancing at the teacup places in front of her. “The leading rumor is he was thrown in the river and the Kree are holding onto the remains.”
Wanda pulled a few herbs from her pantry, pulling the kettle from the fire with a wave of her hand and floating it over the red heads cup. The hot water fell from the air, passing through the herbs, and landing into the cup as a freshly brewed tea.
“There are many whispers about the fate of the great Iron Defender,” she agreed softly, taking a sip from her own cup with a satisfied smile. “But, what I want to tell you is the truth of the matter.”
“Which is?”
“I’m amazing at dramatic entrances,” a voice cracked, opening the front door of Wanda’s cottages and grinning at Natalia. “Natalia, it’s been quite some time since you were stealing rolls from the kitchen.”
King Anthony Stark himself stood before her, perfectly healthy and strong.
“How?” she blurted out with a wide eyed look between the pair. “Clint saw you pierced through the chest with an arrow.”
“Did he?” Wanda asked, a twinkle of crimson flickering through her eyes. “The men saw what the king wanted them to see.”
“I needed to ensure my enemies thought I was dead,” he explained, settling at the table across from her. “I knew Brock was planning something across the border and once Odin warned me that Amora had taken the place of Mordo, I needed to act to protect the kingdom and my family.”
“You need to remove Obadiah from the throne, he intends to-,” Nat started but Tony nodded slowly at her words.
“I’m well aware,” he stated. “I knew he’d been corresponding with Brock for some time and that there would be a plot against me. I needed to make sure my enemies were all exposed in a fell swoop, but Wanda mentioned the engagement and I was forced to move my plans forward.”
“Plans?”
“I had hoped to move when Obadiah refused to give up the throne on Peter’s birthday,” he explained. “But, given what Brock intends to offer for my daughter’s hand, we can’t wait any longer.”
“What do you mean?” Natalia furrowed her brows. “You don’t mean to move on him now, do you? That’d be madness, not without our allies.”
“Who said I didn’t have allies?” he grinned back at her. “Black Widow, you’re not the only one with a large web. I’ve secured Wakandan and Asgardian support, as well as the support of the southern Kree empire. Steve has been working under my orders to determine the loyalty of the guard. Everything is ready to be put in motion, so long as Brock doesn’t mobilize his troops before the wedding.”
“Did you expect this?” she asked, dumbfounded by all of the information.
“I had expected to deal with them separately, but this makes it convenient,” he shrugged. “But I need you to ensure the safety of the princess and my family.”
“It’s being taken care of,” Natalia replied. “Strange and the others have come up with a plan to get them all to safety. The queen and Morgan will be moved to Kamar-Taj and the princess will be taken to Stephen’s family home.”
“Has he come to his senses, yet?” he asked with a snort.
“Very recently,” Natalia chuckled. “So he has even more to lose with a successful marriage. I’ve never seen him quite this motivated.”
“And what of Peter?”
“He wants to fight,” she explained. “The others are encouraging him to wait, but already some men have sworn allegiance to him. Some of the major houses are beginning to start preparations for civil war.”
Tony considered her words, fingers twirling around the edges of his beard as she spoke.
“This is good then,” he decided. “With Peter rallying the families against Obadiah, he has less claim to the throne.”
“Unless Obadiah catches wind and has him executed on the spot,” Wanda supplied dryly. “We must continue to work discreetly.”
“We need someone inside of the walls to help coordinate from within,” Tony explained.
“Why can’t Wanda do it?” Nat asked and Wanda let out a frustrated sigh.
“Obadiah is keeping out all magic keepers except Stephen and Amora, since he is the Master Sorcerer of the castle and she’s a royal guest,” she shook her head. “It’s an effort to prevent any threats against the royal family.”
“The irony was not lost on us,” Tony added with a small smirk. “I can pay you handsomely- after I reclaim my throne.”
“Wouldn’t that be humiliating?” Natalia teased. “All this work and you lose the throne in the end?”
“That ultimately depends on what you say,” he urged and she bowed her head, offering a hand to shake.
“I want a large parcel of land,” she insisted. “And a title.”
“What about James?”
“I suppose he’ll need a title too,” she paused. “Perhaps another parcel for him as well?”
“I’ll see what I can do.”
(---)
“It’s quiet,” you whispered, back against cool grass, fingers intertwined with Stephen’s as the two of you gazed up at the night sky.
“Mandatory curfews,” he murmured. “We’d do well not to attract the guard.”
“Then we’ll just have to be quiet, won’t we?” you rolled toward him, propping yourself up on her elbow and looking down at him with a sly grin.
“We must be absolutely silent,” he agreed, leaning up and cupping your face. Slowly he pulled you closer until you were practically onto of him. Pulling you even closer, you tumbled a ways down the small hill before stopping with a soft thud on the ground below.
Exchanging bewildered looks, you both burst out laughing. You reached forward to pluck a few leaves out of his hair when he caught you by the wrist and kissed you passionately. A moan escaped you when he nibbled on a more sensitive part of your neck, the chill sending shivers everywhere.
“Don’t do that,” he warned, the nibbles becoming small bits, his kiss becoming more desperate and hungry. “I can’t promise to control myself.”
“Then don’t,” you managed through a whimper when he slipped his hands under your corset. He teased, fingers lightly maneuvering over the sensitive skin. You were about to rip the damned thing off yourself when he stopped.
“Are you trying to be cruel?” you asked, face drained of blood and clothes disheveled.
“Something’s coming-,” he scrambled to his feet, drawing up a portal and sealing it shut just before a blast of fire struck. “Someone knew we were there.”
“Impossible,” you shook your head. “You’ve disguised your magic, and the wards around the room are some best rune work I’ve seen in ages.”
He paused, catching snippets of what you were saying.
They hadn’t tracked his signature- they’d tracked yours.
He grabbed your wrist and wrapped his palm around it, muttering a spell and pulling away.
The rune Loki had cast over you had almost faded away.
“What is-?” you started but he was scrambling across the room looking for something to prick the end of his finger to get a little blood.
Spying a needle on your armoire, he grabbing the tiny object and prodded his fingertip, a small bead of blood appearing.
Approaching, he frowned in thought. He needed to be careful. Too powerful and the seidr wouldn’t be able to protect you. Too weak and the seidr would eat through too quickly and its uncontrolled power in your untrained body could wreak devastation the kingdom over.
“Why are you renewing a seal?” you asked, recognizing the symbol on your wrist with pointed interest.
Why were you such a dedicated student? You’d read almost all the texts he had read in his life, often asking thoughtful questions about the material he hadn’t thought of.
This was a basic power sealing rune that had been added on and changed slightly in terms of the magic involved.
“What are you trying to seal, Stephen?” you repeated tersely, eyes narrowed at him.

Something Strange In The Air-Hawthorne!Michael Langdon x Reader
Word Count: 7162
Summary: Michael will be staying at Miss Robichaux’s for a few months leading up to competing against the Reader in the Seven Wonders Test.
Warnings: NSFW, cursing, dirty talk, oral (female receiving), overstimulation, reader blacks out, also there’s a snake, if you’re scared of snakes maybe skip down to the last section bc pretty much all the others involve a snake, and a snake bite, Hawthorne!Michael deserves his own warning, yeah, also this is very much not proofread so, be prepared for that
A/N: This is written in honor of @guiltyfiend bc, you right, I think everyone wants to dom Hawthorne!Michael a little bit. This took me forever to write and is stupidly long (we love waxing poetic for no reason) but I hope y’all like it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was something strange in the air.
There was always something strange in the air, of course. Strange was probably too subjective, anyway. You’d never quite managed to find a place where the air was simply air, and in a city as electric as New Orleans, at a school as volatile as Miss Robichaux’s, there was always something prickling you, needling its way through your veins. It was why you took the time to meditate in the first place, to give you a chance to sort through it all, when you didn’t have to deal with physical world interrupting, when it was simply you and your mind and the universe playing a game of chicken, seeing which would bow to which, in the end.
But there was something that was a different kind of strange today, something that you hadn’t ever felt before.
No, you’d felt it before, you certainly had, but something you’d never felt quite so strongly, that was it.
It was a deep, poignant, throat catching sense of doom.
A hum rippled through the air, someone was taking a deep breath, and you knew in your mind that they were about to call out to you.
“Y/N,” It was Zoe, and there was a grit in her voice hidden so deep she probably wasn’t even aware that she was already annoyed, “The warlocks are here!”
Yes, that was it. That was the presence. The warlocks were here, and more importantly, Michael Langdon. The others had known the sense of doom too, the Supreme Cordelia had even had a vision about it. Cordelia was in fact probably the only person who felt the doom in a similar way to how you did, with her prophetic powers. The others felt it because it was so strong, but you were doubtful that it overwhelmed them like it did you, that they felt it so deeply they could practically taste it.
But that wasn’t the point.
The point was that now, you needed to go meet this mysterious Boy Wonder that had made some of the women you respected most in the world, leaders in your coven, shake in their boots.
You opened your eyes, finally, your head tilted back to look at the sky. After a moment, you slid down the steepled roof of the school, leaping nimbly to the nearest tree, scampering to the ground as quickly as you could. You took a step, but something squishy was under your foot, and you jumped slightly as you heard a loud hiss.
“Fuck,” You muttered to yourself, kneeling down, coming face to face with a snake, coiled back in preparation to strike, white mouth opened wide. You waved your hand in front of it, once, and as you watched your magic flow a sense of calm through the snake, you reached out to let it sniff you, smiling at it gently, “Hello, little friend. What are you doing so far from the water?”
The animal flicked its tongue out twice, slowly bringing its head back down, touching its face to your hand gently.
“I like you,” Moving slowly, you picked the snake up, looking levelly into the slitted eyes, “You wanna stay with me for a bit?”
The cottonmouth raised and lowered its head, and you pulled your hood back to rest it gently inside, the snake nestling instantly into the fabric.
With that, you hurried to the front of the school, where you saw four men and five women waiting for you.
The women, you knew. Cordelia, the Supreme, stood at the head of the line, her shoulders rolled back. Next to her was Myrtle Snow, then Zoe, and next to her were Madison and Queenie, the witches that Michael had rescued.
The men, you didn’t know, but in an instant you recognized which one was Michael Langdon.
He was beautiful, with fluffed, golden curls, piercing blue eyes, a cherubic face that held a smile so lovely most people would probably miss the sneer holding it up. He wore the Hawthorne uniform, which you’d only seen in photos, a black bow tied at his throat, his jacket thrown over his shoulder.
They had already made introductions, it seemed, all turning to watch you approach.
“There you are,” Cordelia gave you a small, reassuring smile as you moved to stand beside her, “Gentlemen, this is Y/N Y/L/N, one of our brightest witches, who we believe may be the next Supreme. Y/N, this is John Henry Moore, Behold Chablis, Grand Chancellor Ariel Augustus, and Michael Langdon.”
You nodded confidently, smiling at John Henry Moore as you shook his hand, a slightly smaller smile at Behold Chablis, your face dropping all emotion as you shook hands with Ariel Augustus, almost coughing as you were hit with a rush of negative energy.
“Did you just fall from a tree?” Ariel questioned, gripping your hand tightly.
You concentrated on making yourself smile again, and once you had a grin securely in place you shrugged, “I jumped, actually. I was on the roof, but jumping straight off the roof seems like a good way to end up injured, and I don’t like to transmutate immediately before and after I meditate.”
“Why were you on the roof?” John Henry Moore asked, looking amused.
You almost responded, but Behold spoke before you could, “Didn’t she just say? She was meditating.”
Myrtle moved behind you, resting a hand on your shoulder, “Our dear Y/N is very sensitive to the vibrations of the universe. I believe it’s what makes her so good at playing my theremin. She meditates to sort the different callings that pull at her.”
Nodding, you turned to the mysterious Michael Langdon, watching him. He stared back, cocking his head to the side, and after a moment he extended his hand.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Y/L/N,” He said coolly, his voice strangely melodic.
You shook firmly, not releasing when the shake was done, not intending to fully end the shake until he moved to end it himself, “Hello, Boy Wonder. It’s nice to- no, actually it’s not particularly nice to meet you. But I’m happy to finally meet you. I’ve heard lots of stories, and I’m grateful for what you’ve done for our coven by returning Madison and Queenie to us.”
His brows furrowed, and he opened his mouth as if to object before suddenly jerking his hand back, frowning, “I’m sorry, but what is that?”
What was he talking about?
A slight hiss next to your ear explained it. The snake had crawled up to your shoulder, and you glanced to see that it was looking at the Grand Chancellor. It seemed that the snake didn’t trust Ariel Augustus either.
Ariel jumped, staring, his hand raising up and mouth opening, and you could tell that some type of spell was on the tip of his tongue.
“No,” You snapped, reaching a hand up to the snakes head, and Ariel stumbled backwards, pushed back by magic that you hadn’t even meant to send out, “Sorry. It’s a snake. A cottonmouth, although I’ve never seen one this far from water. I just found him. Stepped on him, actually, although he didn’t take it too personally. I mean, he almost bit me, but I wouldn’t have particularly blamed him if he did, and after I calmed him down with a little charm he seemed happy to come with me. Id like to keep him,” You turned away from the warlocks, glancing at Cordelia, “May I? I’ve already thought of a name for him.”
Madison, Queenie, and Zoe had all stepped away from you, anxiety thrumming through the air from their direction, but Myrtle chuckled, and Cordelia nodded, something inquisitive just behind her eyes, “You may, so long as you take good care of him, and so long as your new roommate doesn’t mind.”
You whipped back around to Michael, beaming, “What do you think, Boy Wonder? Can Richard stay with us?”
A deep frown etched into his features, which he looked annoyingly pretty in spite of, and he turned to Cordelia and the warlocks, “What does she mean?”
“We’re happy to have you staying with us for the next few months leading up to the Seven Wonders test, but there is currently an overflow of witches. Every room is currently occupied, some by multiple girls,” Zoe stepped in to explain, “Y/N had space for a roommate. I’m surprised that the Grand Chancellor didn’t tell you.”
Ariel shrugged, mumbling something about it not seeming important, and Michael looked at you, horrified, as you slung an arm around his shoulder, “I probably could’ve swapped around with someone, but I thought it’d be fun if we bunked together. Give us a chance to get to know each other better, y’know? So c’mon, Mikey, can we keep the snake?”
“Do not call me that,” He snapped, shrugging you off of him and adjusting his collar, “I don’t care about the snake. I don’t like you.”
“The feeling is mutual, don’t worry,” Blowing a kiss in his direction, you whispered a celebration to the snake before turning back to your sister witches, “Let’s give them a tour!”
You were pleased with this interaction. He was taken aback by you, and you could tell just from a single glance that Michael was not one who was easily taken aback. His energy shifted, something hard to determine just under the surface. You were curious to see what you could learn about him, before the two of you competed against each other during the test of the Seven Wonders.
Alongside that was the strong feeling that at some point you would either fuck him or beat him up, and you found that you were also curious to see which it would be.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Michael Langdon was an asshole.
You’d managed to catch him by surprise the day you’d first met him, to get him to stumble, but by the time you’d walked through the front door of the school he had found his composure, and you hadn’t managed to see him without it since then. He was always well put together.
Alongside being an asshole.
The other witches in your coven were finding themselves swayed by him, you could tell. They didn’t want a male Supreme, but they were fading into his easy charm and good looks. Most spent their time flirting with him, and he seemed incredibly smug at all the attention. They didn’t seem to mind how clearly indifferent he was to them, not particularly harsh, but also never making an effort to be nice, either.
The only person he actively disliked? You.
You couldn’t blame him, of course, but he was a huge pain in the ass.
For example, he was stealing your study room.
There were several areas in the school where students could study, of course. Most of the girls just did it in their rooms, and there was one room at the back of the house that was your favorite, holding a large table with bookshelves on either side and a large picture window opposite the door. You were the only one who used it, because there were nicer ones with tables that didn’t have splinters and light bulbs that weren’t constantly flickering no matter how often they were changed.
And then Michael Langdon showed up, and started hogging the room.
It wasn’t as though you really needed the full study room to yourself, of course. But he took up so much space.
He spread books along the entire table, and he always used his magic to adjust the lighting and change the temperature.
“Boy Wonder,” You sighed one day, about a week and a half after his arrival, “Can you please give me some space on the table?”
Michael glanced up at you, a smirk tugging at the edge of his lips although he kept the rest of his face neutral, “What’s wrong, little witch? Are you mad that I beat you in here for once?”
“I’m mad that you take up all the room,” You snapped, “And that you’ve made it fucking freezing in here.”
“I can make it snow, too. Wanna see?”
You kinda did, actually, but you weren’t going to tell him that.
“No, I want you to put the temperature back so it’s warm enough that I can’t see my own breath. I can literally see the heat waves rolling off of you, Boy Wonder,” And you could, and it was really fucking weird, in a very interesting sort of way.
Still not bothering to turn to you, Michael shuffled his books around until there was a new one in front of him, “Little witch, why do you think I’d give a fuck what temperature you want it to be?”
“Because, Boy Wonder, Richard can’t handle this cold,” You gestured to the snake who was wrapped around your shoulders, shivering along with you.
Shrugging, Michael stood up finally, walking over to you and reaching a hand out. You stared for a moment, slowly reaching your own out and pressing your palm to his, and the two of you stared at each other for a solid minute and a half, his hand searing hot against your own cold palm, and when he finally pulled away he raised a curious eyebrow at you, “I was reaching for the snake.”
He still wore that ridiculous fucking Hawthorne uniform, and looking at him in it made you wonder once again how well you would fare in beating him up.
“Oh. Shit, sorry,” You said hurriedly, pulling Richard off your shoulders and down around your arm, but then you paused and looked at Michael, your voice heavy with suspicion, “Why do you want him?”
“I’m warmer than you. He can hang out with me and you can go study in our room. Or you can take him back to the room and study with in there with him. Either way,” He said simply, as though you were a bit stupid for not knowing that already.
Glaring, you took a step closer to him, trying your best to be intimidating, “I can’t go study in our room, actually, because your shit is all over my desk, too. And I don’t want Richard to spend all day stuck in the room. He likes going other places. Just make some damn space.”
Michael took two steps forward and suddenly your back was against the wall. He looked closely at you for a minute, and then he reached his hand out again, drawing his thumb across your lower lip, “Why do you always wear lipstick?”
“What?” You stared up at him, dumbfounded.
“You wear lipstick a lot,” Michael pulled his hand away, glancing at the residue left behind on his thumb, and then turned it back to you, “I’m curious why. Can you get this for me?”
“What?”
Rolling his eyes, Michael gripped your chin, pushing his thumb against your lips until they parted. Your eyebrows scrunched together, and you closed your eyes for a moment as you tried to concentrate on what the actual hell was happening.
It wasn’t even lipstick, it was tinted lip balm.
His energy had reached a point that was especially strange, still dark and angry like always, but with a type of curiosity to it as well. He was wondering something, and that made you wonder what he was wondering, and there was such a loop of wondering going on that you didn’t even realize that your tongue was swirling around him, didn’t even notice the slight shift in his demeanor as he pushed the two more of his fingers into your mouth, shoving them down your throat.
What the fuck?
You shifted, trying to reach up and push him away, but his magic pinned your hands at your sides and all you could do was gag around him, frantically struggling. Magic, magic, do something with your magic to get him to stop, but you couldn’t get it to work, couldn’t get anything to happen. You bit down, desperate, and he hissed as he raised his other hand to your chin, holding it pulled down so you couldn’t bite anymore, scratching his nails gently across your jaw as he did so.
“You look good like this, do you know that? Gagging. I think you were made for it. It’s interesting, how aware you are of energies, of vibrations in the universe, and yet I don’t think you’re even conscious of the energy you send out. How desperate you are for me. You aren’t aware of it because you don’t want to be. I can read your mind, little witch. You may not like me, but you do want to fuck me. You wear revealing clothes and you act like you’re doing it for yourself, like you’re empowered, but you’re not. You act high and mighty, as though you’re wise and powerful, but really you’re just a dumb, depraved, desperate little whore who wants nothing more than to be dicked down by your rival.”
What the fuck was he talking about? That wasn’t true!
Was it?
He was pretty fucking hot, you had to admit, but you didn’t want to get dicked down by Michael Langdon.
You couldn’t want that.
Fuck.
Finally, finally, when you thought you were going to pass out or puke or maybe both, he pulled completely away from you, stepping back.
You doubled over, catching your breath, and when you straightened up your magic was finally working again, sending Michael flying across the room until he was pressed against the window, and you gasped, “What the fuck, Langdon? What the actual fucking fuck?”
Michael tried to shrug, but his shoulders wouldn’t move, and after a moment you released him, wishing that he would maybe fall over, but he just smoothly stepped forward, making his way back to you, “I’ll raise the temperature back to normal. And here,” He waved his hand in the air and the books in front of one of the seats at the table flew to other spots, clearing you an area, “I suppose there’s room for us to share the table. No promises on my kindness extending to tomorrow.”
“Then I’ll beat you here tomorrow,” You said, thinking through each of your words carefully as you spoke, “And you can suck my Dick, Langdon.”
Richard raised his head up and down as you set him on the table, slithering closer to Michael as if in emphasis to your point.
“Good one, little witch. That’s very clever, for you,” He chuckled, taking the seat next to the one he had cleared space for you at and sliding his fingers into his own mouth, tilting his head back as he cleaned them off and then pulling them back out with a flourish, shooting you a condescending look, “Are you going to sit? If you’re just here to stare, I’d prefer it if you’d leave. You can be very distracting sometimes.
Numbly, you took a seat next to him, trying hard to ignore his cocky grin, and pulled a book out of your bag.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sharing a bedroom with Michael Langdon presented its own challenges. He was an asshole in private just as much as he was in front of others, and it was pretty fucking annoying.
“Are you ever gonna go to fucking sleep?” Michael snapped at you, pulling his pillow over his eyes.
“There’s too much noise,” Sighing, you cracked your knuckles, letting Richard the snake trail across your legs, “And not enough noise, at the same time. Am I really bothering you that much? I turned the lights out and everything.”
He growled, removing the pillow from his head and squinting across the room at you through the darkness, “Doesn’t matter, does it, little witch bitch? You’re still a pain in the ass whether the light is on or off. Can’t you just ignore the noise?”
“Fuck you, Langdon, you don’t know shit. I can’t just-shit! Ow, motherfucker,” You hissed, jumping, as Richard bit your finger, “Why the fuck would you do that you dick?”
“What happened?” Michael straightened up, “Y/N?”
The snake was slithering away already, and as he did you were flooded with a strange feeling, the metallic taste of magic in the air. Richard hadn’t bitten you of his own accord, someone had made it happen, and that someone was probably Michael.
“Y/N,” He repeated, “Come over here.”
Your feet carried you to his bed without your brain guiding them, and you dropped to the mattress next to him, holding out a shaky hand, “Richard bit me.”
Michael wrapped his fingers around your wrist, his large hand engulfing yours as he brought it closer to his face, examining carefully, “Yeah, you did. Weird. You feeling okay?”
You weren’t. Your mind was hazy, and you didn’t know why. It wasn’t the snakebite that did it, you could just tell, it was something deep in your chest and spreading through your body, making you feel like you were in a great fog, and you stared at him, “I don’t feel great, actually.”
“Would you like me to fix it?” Pressing a kiss to your palm, Michael raised an eyebrow at you.
“I, uh, I don’t know what you, what you mean by-” You cut off, closing your eyes to concentrate, rather than letting yourself get lost looking at Michael.
Dammit, why did he have to be so fucking pretty? It was such a pain.
Night was the only time you saw him looking casual, too. Night and early morning, when he was in bed.
Seeing him unbuttoned like this made a strange flip turn in the pit of your stomach.
“I can make the pain go away, little witch,” His voice was hoarse and whispery, “Just say the word.”
“Okay,” You breathed, even though you probably shouldn’t, you should say no, should pull away, should find a way to fix it yourself or maybe go to Cordelia or one of the other witches for help, you didn’t trust Michael, you shouldn’t trust Michael, but the word came out and you were making eye contact with him and fuck, fuck, fuck what were you doing with your life?
Michael pulled your finger into his mouth, wrapping his lips just below the bite wound, and began sucking gently.
“What... what are you doing?” You asked blearily, unable to break your eyes away from his, “I don’t... I don’t think you can really suck out the venom. I don’t even know if there is venom? He bit so quick, it was more of a nip than anything, I don’t-”
Pulling his head away for a moment, Michael frowned, “Are you ever quiet, little witch? Just hush, for once, and let me make you feel better.”
Why was he being so nice? It wasn’t nice, you knew it wasn’t really, there was some type of trick to this, some type of trick to everything he did, and yet you felt swept away, some how. Overwhelmed, intoxicated, by Michael Langdon.
You nodded, and his lips were around you again, and it was working, you could feel it. The strange pain in your body, that had started to cloud your chest, your throat, stomach, everything, it was fading away.
You weren’t quite sure what was replacing it, as it certainly wasn’t anything you were used to, but it was mostly calming. There was a thrill of adrenaline spiking through you, but something else. Something deeper. There were few emotions that you couldn’t identify, but this was perhaps one of them. Whatever you were feeling, it was not something that you were used to.
When the pain was gone and your head was a bit clearer, you tried to pull your hand away. Michael held firm to your wrist, although he let you ball your fingers into a fist, releasing you from his mouth. “How does that feel?” He cooed, tapping his fingers along your veins.
“Better,” You said slowly, and then, “Weird, though. I feel weird. I want... I’m tired, I think.”
“What do you want?” Michael asked, and there was a smirk on his face that made you want to slap him, and then because your head was still not altogether there, you did slap him.
Your hand, the one he wasn’t holding in place, hit his cheek at an astounding speed, leaving an angry red mark, and before you could even process that you had done so, you threw your leg across his lap, straddling him, and pressed your lips to his.
Releasing your wrist finally, Michael pressed his hands into the small of your back, pulling you closer to him, and you stroked your thumb over the mark on his face, listening to Michael’s growl as you pressed down.
You pulled away after a moment, cupping his face in your hands, panting, “I don’t know why I did that.”
“Which part?” Michael nipped at your bottom lip, smiling a smile that did not soften his eyes at all, “Slapping me? Or kissing me? Because I’ll be honest, I wasn’t fully expecting either of them, little witch bitch.”
“You’ve done something to me,” You mused, beginning to kiss along his throat, “I don’t know what, or how, or why, but there’s something you’ve done. There are a lot of things I want right now.”
“Tell me,” Michael commanded, but then he let out a groan as you brushed your lips over the spot where his jaw met his neck, and his usual suave, intimidating demeanor dropped as you began sucking furiously at the spot. He spoke again, more softly this time, “Stop, tell me.”
Leaning back to glance at him, you smiled sweetly, “Make me, Boy Wonder,” and then you were at it again, leaving a large clump of bruises near his ear.
“Seems like you have feelings for me, little bitch,” With mocking laughter, Michael trailed his hands to your hips, giving a harsh squeeze, “What would your sister witches think?”
“The only feeling I have for you is loathing, Langdon,” You snarled, and in a moment your lips were connected once again, teeth clacking against each other, and when you both paused to catch your breath, you pressed your forehead to his, “Fuck, I really want to suck your cock.”
Michael snorted, “Everyone thinks you’re the future Supreme? You’re just a pathetic little cockslut.”
You ground your hips down against him and reared your hand back, but this time he caught your wrist, glaring, although he bucked slightly against you. “Fuck you, you’re the one who’s all marked up. You’re the one who’s fucking dry humping me. Look at you. You’re the pathetic one.”
“Sure I am,” Michael had a low, snarly chuckle that made a bolt of need shoot through you, and also made you very desperately want to hit him again, but seeming to know what you were thinking, he captured your other hand as well, “Such a fiery thing you are, little witch.”
Scowling, you bit his bottom lip and tugged, licking up the blood that beaded up and began to trickle down his chin. Smiling at the bitter taste, a yawn made its way through you before you could stop it. You felt yourself blushing a little at that, muttering quickly, “Sorry about that. I’m more tired than I thought, I guess. Being this close to you kinda blocks out a lot of the other energy, makes it all a lot quieter.”
“Then let’s sleep.”
You had started to kiss along his collarbones, but you paused at that, murmuring against his skin, “What?”
Michael wrapped his hand around your jaw, pulling you back so that he could look you in the eye, “You heard me, little witch. You’re tired. I am too. As much as I would love to see you gagging on my cock right now, I’d also enjoy getting some sleep. I’m planning to get up relatively early tomorrow to study.”
“I call the study room,” You said quickly, and you hadn’t even realized that Michael had shifted the two of you so that you were laying down, one hand still cupping your jaw, making it a bit difficult to speak, “What are you doing?”
“You really are quite dim, little witch. I’m going to sleep. You should do the same,” His voice was softening, although not in a kind way. It was soft, yes, but commanding, dangerous,and you struggled to keep your eyes open.
Straining against his arms, you tried to stand, “I’ll go back to my bed.”
“You can’t sleep in your bed,” Michael said simply, rolling onto his back, one arm still flung across your waist, holding you in place.
Frowning, you turned your body towards him, curling into his side. He was warm. You didn’t even have a blanket covering you, and already you could feel yourself starting to overheat. You didn’t voice this though, not yet, too confused by the entire interaction to focus on that, “Why do you care so much how I sleep?”
“I don’t,” He said simply, “I care about my sleep. And I’m not going to lose my sleep just because you can’t grasp your own. Now, stop squirming around so much. Are you that worked up?”
“I’m hot,” You snapped.
“And bothered, apparently.”
“Langdon, do you ever shut the fuck up?” You jabbed your elbow into his side, “That’s not the hot I meant and you know it. I’m warm. You’re like a fucking furnace.”
Sighing, getting grumpier by the second, Michael hooked his arm around you and pulled you onto his chest so that you were straddling him once again, arms on either side of his body, head hovering over his chest.
He laughed at the way you yelped, being pulled so suddenly, and his hands rested on your back, bringing one up to guide your head down to rest against his chest, “Did I scare you, little witch?”
“No,” You answered quickly, and then, “Just, this is a weird position.”
“It should be a little cooler for you this way. Just sleep, yeah? Get comfortable, and let’s go to sleep,” Michael’s hand stroked up and down your back, probably unconsciously, and you nodded sleepily.
“Goodnight, Mikey,” You murmured, still largely unable to control your impulses.
“Don’t call me that,” He replied, and then, after a moment, he added gently, “Goodnight, Y/N.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Why are you always here?” Michael sighed the next morning, setting his books down on your table.
“Why are you always such a dick?” You retorted, shuffling your own books to the side.
He shrugged, stiffening a little as you rested your hand on his thigh, “Because it’s fun. Listen, about last night, I don’t want you to think-”
“I don’t think anything,” You reassured him quickly.
“Well that’s obvious,” Michael snorted, “You’re far prettier than you are smart, and far more annoying than you are pretty. I’d be surprised if you used that little head of yours for much more than deciding what color lipstick you should wear and fantasizing about getting fucked.”
Pulling your hand away, you scowled at him, “That’s not what I meant, asshole. I was going to thank you for helping me fall asleep, but now I’d rather just give you another hickey or something, so everyone who looks at you like you’re a god will see what a little bitch their Boy Wonder actually is.”
“I would take that back, if I were you,” He said coolly, his voice deadly calm.
You stood, though only for a moment, and pushed his chair back enough for you to be able to sit, straddling his lap much like you had the night before. Hooking your arms around his neck, you looked at him with a smile, “I have no intention of taking anything back. I said what I said, and I fucking meant it.”
Faster than you knew he could move, Michael stood and slammed your back against the table, knocking the wind out of you. His hands reached under the fabric of your dress and he ripped your underwear off quickly, stuffing them into the pocket of his dress pants as he looked at you, “You have no power here, do you understand that? You may have felt like you were in charge last night, but that’s only because I fucking let you. You’re feisty, and I like that, but you need to learn your fucking place, little witch bitch. Tell me you want that. Tell me you want me to teach you your place, and I will. If you don’t, I’ll leave. But I think we both know which option you prefer.”
You nodded, swallowing thickly, and at his raised eyebrow you spoke, “I do. I mean, I, uh, I want you to show me my place. Whatever. Just fucking do something, Michael.”
“Don’t tell me what to do,” He growled, sitting back down in his chair, and he tugged at you, pulling both your legs over his shoulders, your hips lifting off the table, so that his face was level with your pussy, “I’m the one in charge. Get it? I want you to sit there and-fuck, you’re already so fucking wet. You think you want to be in charge, but clearly you know that you’re meant to be at my mercy. I want you to sit there and melt underneath me, and you’re gonna keep melting until there’s nothing left of you. Get it?”
“I get it,” You agreed quickly, although you really weren’t quite sure what he meant by that, and your hips bucked weakly forward at the feeling of his hot breath against you, “Please, Michael.”
“So fucking desperate. You’re fucking dripping for me, and I’ve barely even touched you,” Chuckling, Michael placed a tiny, barely there, ghost of a kiss against your clit, and even though he wasn’t touching you anymore you could feel his wolfish grin at the way you whined when he pulled away.
Michael dragged his teeth against the soft skin of your thighs, nipping at the junction of your pelvis, and you knew as he continued that there were dark flowers blossoming along after his teeth. You squirmed underneath him, and when he finally finished with your thighs he placed his palms against them, holding them open, his long fingers pressed against your hips so they stayed down.
You sat up as well as you could to look at him, and you watched as he stared intently at your pussy, leaning forward after far, far too long to lick a slow, languid stripe up your clit. You moaned weakly, giving a flick of your hand to slam the study room door shut and lock it, and after a moment you dug your hands into his hair, “Michael, wait, the window.”
He leaned back for a moment to glance at the large picture window that took over the wall to your left, and then he beamed up at you, “It’s fine, little witch. No one will walk by, and if they do, it won’t embarrass me, so it doesn’t matter much. That reminds me, if being noisy is gonna make you embarrassed, you might wanna find some way to be fucking quiet for once. I know that’s not your strong suit, but it’s the best you’re gonna get.”
What a dick.
You were about to voice this thought, tell him what a dick he was, but then Michael clamped his teeth down gently on your clit, giving a playful tug, and you let out a shriek at that, bringing one hand up to stop yourself from making too much noise.
Suddenly his tongue was inside you, tracing along the walls of your cunt, exploring, searching for something, and when he found the spot he was looking for you bit sharply into the palm of your hand.
He was masterful in the way he ate you out, his nose still brushing your clit as he fucked you with his tongue.
It didn’t take long until you felt your stomach tightening, ready to burst, and you tugged at Michael’s thick golden curls, whimpering, “Fuck, Michael, I’m gonna-”
“Do it, little witch,” He spoke against your skin, and you shuddered at the vibrations it sent through you, “Melt for me. Let yourself dissolve for me.”
Your orgasm washed over you, Michael attacking your g-spot with a ferocity that you probably should’ve expect but didn’t. He kept going, and you gasped, pulling harder at his hair, “Michael! Stop, you gotta stop, give me a minute.”
He pulled away for just a moment and you gasped, but then his lips were around your clit and sucking furiously. You cursed loudly, another orgasm already approaching, or maybe the first one extending, you couldn’t tell, couldn’t think about it, you were overwhelmed.
For the first time in your life, you could only feel one sense of energy coming at you. Everything else was blocked out, hidden away behind the deep, angry lust that rolled through the air between you and Michael.
He moved back down and began lapping furiously at your folds. Pulling back for a moment, Michael spat on your pussy and then buried his face against you once more, shaking his head furiously, and you struggled to hold back your moans.
You weren’t intending to give him the damn satisfaction.
Michael seemed to realize you were holding back as he started speaking again, his voice muffled against you but bringing another orgasm bubbling to the surface of your skin, electrifying you, “You taste delicious, do you know that, little witch? So sweet. Maybe a little bitter, but so sugary. I could eat you for hours. You know what? I think I will.”
“Fuck,” You let out a hiss as he dove back in, tongue delving into you once more, and you did your best to act smug, like he wasn’t sending shockwaves through your very being, “Is this the best you’ve got, Boy Wonder? You’re supposed to be teaching me my place, right? But I’m kind of-dammit to fuck, holy hell-kind of the one in charge here, huh? I’m the one above you right now.”
You couldn’t even be sure why exactly you were saying this, why you were egging him on when it was becoming painful how much pleasure was running through you, but he didn’t respond. At least, not out loud.
Leaping to his feet, Michael pulled you up closer to him, so that only your shoulders were still laying down. You adjusted your position frantically, scrabbling to grip onto the edge of the table. You were upside down and practically vertical, and he dug into you as though he were indeed starving for you, snarling and slobbering, glaring down the length of your body at you. Your body had started to spasm, and you bit your hand until you tasted blood.
There were explosions going off in your mind, and not just metaphorical orgasmic explosions, but actual ones too, nuclear blasts dancing across your hazy thoughts.
You couldn’t be sure how long this went on, how many times you came, it was all a blur. You’d given up on keeping your sounds under control and were now openly sobbing, shuddering as he continued to devour you.
“Stop, Michael, please, I can’t take it,” You were blubbering, straining hard against him and desperately trying to pull away, but Michael held you firmly in place, chuckling at your desperation.
He pulled your clit into his mouth once more, the suction almost unbearable, and you were smashed with your final orgasm, his teeth grazing the sensitive flesh as he moved to lick at your folds again, a dark glint in his eyes as he watched you pant, watched your own eyes rolling back in your head, and the sight of him smiling against you was the last thing you see before a dark haze overtook you.
You were surrounded by darkness, everything you saw misted in a painful, prickling fog. The air smelled like sulfur, and you looked down to see that you were covered in blood.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” A familiar voice rang in your ear, and you swiveled slowly, sluggishly, to see Michael standing just to your right, an admiring grin on his face, “We did very well, my little witch.”
You tried to respond, but your words stuck in your throat, and you simply stared at Michael. He was wearing something other than pajamas or the Hawthorne uniform for the first time you had ever seen. His hands were folded neatly behind his back, but as you stared at him he reached one arm out and entangled your fingers in his.
The sky was thick with grey and black clouds, and Michael’s hand was searing hot against your own. When he pulled away, moving to examine a piece of rubble not far from you, you looked at your palm to see that it was bright shade of pinkish red, as though it had been sunburned.
Michael turned back around to look at you expectantly, and you saw that the piece of rubble he was leaning against had a large sign on it, with a large chunk missing from one of the top corners.
--Miss Robichaux’s Academy For Exceptional Young Ladies--
Holy shit.
When your eyes fluttered back open, Michael was sitting in his chair once more and had adjusted you so that your back was resting on the table again, although your legs were still splayed over his shoulders.
You gasped when you caught sight of his face, your mind still tumbling at the...dream? vision? mirage? You weren’t sure what it was, but you were scrambling to reconcile what you had seen with what was happening now.
Michael merely raised an eyebrow at you, pulling your legs off of his shoulders, “Are you back with me now, little witch?”
“Fucking hell,” You breathed, trying to sit up.
Placing a hand on your stomach, Michael tutted, “Stay down. At least for a few moments. You blacked out and you’re gonna do it again if you’re not careful.”
“I’m okay,” You reassured him, sitting up again after a few moments, swinging your legs down and frowning, “Fuck, I can’t feel my legs.”
“That makes sense,” Michael stood, looking down at you coolly, “I think I’ll go study elsewhere. See you around, little witch.”
“What? You can’t just leave,” You couldn’t believe it, and you tried to stand but fell back immediately, your entire lower body trembling.
Michael didn’t bother to respond, just turned away from you with that ridiculous smirk on his face, and walked out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was something strange in the air, but this time you knew what it was.
Desire.
Michael Langdon was an asshole, but you knew from everything that had happened that you two were destined to meet, although you weren’t sure why.
It seemed that you were going to have to figure it out.
day 4: cardverse
Arthur/Teo, PG-15 (for some violence), 2k.
@engportevents
Three times the Queen of Spades almost caught the Diamond Bandit, and one time he did (sort of)
.
.
.
There had been talk – rumors – of a band of bandits roaming the borders between the four kingdoms for months. Their usual targets were trains loaded with gold and silver and the occasional rich traveler going from one kingdom to the other.
Arthur, currently, was the latter.
“Can’t you make the horses go faster?!” he shouted at the conductor who yelled back something he didn’t quite catch over the noise of the fighting in the carriages behind them where the rest of his security detail was being held back instead of doing their job of protecting him!
He shut the small partition between him and the conductor with a violent shove and noticed the inside of the cabin now smelled of lavender.
When he turned back on his seat, the Diamond Bandit was smiling at him, sitting with far too familiarity with his arms spread open over the back of the cushions and his legs crossed.
“My, so you’re the next Queen of Spades?”
Arthur breathed deeply. His powers had not fully developed yet and the masked man he had seen in the wanted posters all over the towns in the Diamonds Kingdom was very much not a rumor.
“What of it?” he asked, trying to buy himself some time while summoning enough energy in his hand to blast the damn smile off the man’s face.
The bandit shrugged, that idiot smile still plastered on his partially covered face.
“Does your future husband know?” he asked and Arthur could feel the small ball of pure energy in his hand growing even smaller and denser. It needed to be as small as the head of a pin before he could cast it and cause any real damage.
“Know what?” He needed more time, just a little more time and concentration.
The bandit leaped onto his lap and pressed a dagger to his throat. His smile turned wicked. “That you’re no longer a virgin,” he whispered in his ear and Arthur’s concentration evaporated, the energy in his hand expanding until it blew up like a firecracker and blinding white smoke filled the cabin.
The pressure of another body over his was gone. Along with his engagement ring.
When the smoke cleared, the conductor announced the bandits had retreated and they were safe now. Arthur nodded and pressed a hand to his chest. How had he known…?
-
Next he saw him was during a ball in the Clubs Kingdom to celebrate the Queen’s birthday. Clubs was a Northern kingdom with a long and proud tradition of horseback fighting and hunting, and Arthur was trying very hard not to look directly at the animals’ heads hung on the walls around the room.
The music changed and his dancing partner – an older gentleman and high-ranking noble, probably belonging to the House of 8 – was shoved out of the way to make room for a younger and more vigorous partner who strode across the ballroom with Arthur in his arms, barely giving him time to keep up.
“Watch it!” he scolded when his feet almost stepped over his.
“Are you going to throw another feeble spark at me?” the man laughed and Arthur only had time to catch a glimpse of pale green eyes and a dark mole beneath the right eye before the entire room went dark and a myriad of gasps and faint exclamations of fright and surprise replaced the music.
“It’s you!” Arthur hissed and felt strong hands hold him tighter against a firm chest.
“Does anyone in this room know, dear Queen?” the bandit asked in a whisper and Arthur felt his entire body shiver with the proximity and the smell of lavender. “Have you told anyone that you used to be just another one of the butcher’s kids until you began manifesting the powers of a Queen?”
Arthur’s anger grew white and hot and powerful, and when he shoved him away and flicked his wrists the entire room exploded in searing light.
He had to blink several times before the room had regained color again, the servants hurrying to light the candles again. Nobles and monarchs were looking at each other with surprise and astonishment. A lady clutched at her neck only to find it bare.
Her scream pierced through the night, followed by many others like hers.
-
The situation had to be dealt with. The Diamond Bandit could not just steal from under their noses and be allowed to go unpunished. After what happened in the ball, the King of Clubs raised the reward on the Bandit’s head and the Queen of Hearts volunteered to bring the man and the rest of his band to justice.
Arthur approached Kiku afterwards and asked to be a part of the task force. Kiku only looked him over once before acquiescing silently.
It took them a month to gather the information that led them to the humble stone house where the bandits were hiding deep in the Diamond countryside near the border with Spades. Kiku and his men went after the larger group while Arthur was left alone to chase their leader into the forest.
He aimed a single arrow at him when he had him in his sight and the Diamond Bandit fell to the forest ground, clutching at his shoulder and crying out in pain.
Arthur approached him slowly and balled up magical energy in his hand. He had trained for this moment. He was now so much better at it than when they first met.
The bandit smiled through the pain, writhing on the ground beneath him. His mask was slipping; the shape of his nose oddly familiar.
“Is your mother still the best seamstress in Spades?” he asked, grinding his teeth as blood flowed down between his fingers. “Does she still bake the most awful scones?”
Arthur stepped on his hand and he screamed. The ball of energy in his palm shrunk to an impossible miniature size, no bigger than an ant, more lethal than any weapon.
“How do you know that?” he hissed.
Green eyes looked up at him. “Have you forgotten about her too?”
Kiku’s horse distracted him as it rode with its master into the space they were in, and when Arthur looked back at him there was only a small pool of blood seeping into the earth in his place. Kiku dismounted and came closer, inspecting the blood.
“He has some sort of magic,” Arthur tried to explain even if he himself didn’t entirely understand. “He disappears.”
“Not disappear,” Kiku corrected him lightly. “He changes. A tanuki.”
He pointed at a small trail of blood, droplets that went further into the forest. Arthur looked at his friend. “Only Diamond high nobility can shape shift.”
Kiku nodded. “You should pay Francis a visit.”
-
It was not hard to convince his husband to send a letter to the King of Diamonds. It was hard, however, to sit at his table and pretend to enjoy the dinner when all he wanted to do was to strangle Francis’ neck between his hands.
“I see you have a new Jack,” Alfred said politely, raising his glass at the man on the other side of the long table and Basch raised his own politely in return. “What happened to the last one?” he asked Francis beside him.
“He died,” Arthur supplied in a dry tone and Alfred looked between him and Francis, noticing Arthur’s glare and Francis’ cold demeanor.
“His ship sank during the war,” Francis said and took a sip of his wine. “What kind of a Jack would he be if he hadn’t been willing to sacrifice himself for King and country?”
Arthur got up. His hands shook beside him with uncontrolled energy that seeped light between his clenched fingers. He stormed out of the dinning hall before he lost control. He left and did not come back, forgoing what he had come all this way for.
“Did you know the guy that died in the war?” Alfred asked him late that night after Arthur had forced them to pack up their things and take their carriage back to their kingdom.
“I did,” he said, staring out at the dark through the carriage window. “He was my best friend.”
-
Arthur woke up with a draft coming into his room through the open windows.
“You’re not too heavily guarded for a Queen,” the Diamond Bandit said, smiling at him under the moonlight.
He sat up on the bed and clutched the sheets to his chest. “What do you want from me?”
The man took a step forward in his direction and froze on the spot. A circle of light with intricate runes glowed beneath his feet.
“I see you’ve gotten better at magic.”
Arthur threw the sheets aside to reveal himself fully clothed and stood in front of him. He could already hear the guards coming closer, alerted by his spell. “Who are you?”
“Do you still remember when we first kissed?” he asked, still smiling despite having been caught. “Behind the house while my mother tried on dresses in your living room?”
The guards came into the room and took him away. Arthur prided himself for not collapsing to the ground until he heard their steps on the far end of the corridor. It was where Alfred found him minutes later, when he held him until he stopped crying, not understanding why since they were safe now. The bad guy had been caught.
-
The rest of the group had been hanged in the early hours in a secluded location as not to distract the people from the main event. Only the Diamond Bandit was to be given a public execution under the eyes of the four monarchs and the people gathered at the central square in the Spades capital.
Arthur had to give out a few golden coins, but he did manage to have the room alone with the Bandit before they took him to the gallows. Teo had his head down, his shirt had been removed along with his mask and his long hair hung over his shoulders, barely concealing the fresh bruises and cuts the guards had given him since he had been brought to their care.
“Did your companions know that you cheat at cards and that you once spilled black tea on your mother’s new dress and blamed your little brother?” he asked and Teo laughed, coughed, spat out blood. Arthur came closer to the bars separating them. “How did you survive?”
“The sea didn’t want me,” he said, his shoulders rising and falling as he spoke. “I floated to the surface with the debris and the enemy ship rescued me.”
“Francis would have paid the ransom.”
Teo laughed again, wet and raspy. “They tried that.” He looked up at him, green eyes almost swollen shut and Arthur felt his chin tremble at the sight of his mangled face. “He said he didn’t negotiate with barbarians.”
He curled his hands around the bars, pressed his face between them. “Then why? Why come back?”
Teo smiled. “You know why.”
-
Arthur sat beside his King and they watched as the Diamond Bandit was brought out. The crowd watched in silence. No cheering, no murmurs.
They put a sack over his head and a noose around his neck.
When the trap door opened, Arthur shut his eyes and flicked his wrist. Something small, smaller than a grain of sand, shot out from his palm.
The crowd gasped, someone screamed. When he looked again, the Bandit had disappeared.
-
Arthur came into his room followed by a chambermaid who was frantically trying to undress him while he gave her no attention and went on talking to his secretary about the seating arrangements for the banquet next week. The other kingdoms’ delegations should be arriving soon and their rooms and accommodations had to be prepared ahead of time, there was no time to waste.
He stopped when he noticed the open window over his desk.
On top of his books, there was a single stalk of lavender.
He smiled.
Hi hiiii~ I'd like to request Kazunari's, Hisoka's and Omi's reactions for when you hug them from behind when they don't expect it! UwU Backhugs are the best 👌 💓
This gave me JOY. ow I wish I could backhug everyone I know.
Please enjoy!
Kazunari
Surprised backhugs are like, his most favourite thing ever??
I mean, it’s Kazu. Whatever you do would be his favorite thing.
But really, he just loves being surprised with hugs. He’s a pretty much straightforward guy and used to initiating things, no prob up until there.
But oh man, when you come to him like that…? He’s pure joy.
He’ll even jump up and down with you laughing clinging on to him. He then usually asks you how your day has been.
If he’s having a bad day, it’s you and your hugs are what he needs, he learned. Total recovery within seconds verified
Lot’s of selfies with you back hugging him. He loves it.
“I made it!” you put your arms around his neck from behind. You had spotted Kazunari sitting on the bench and decided to surprise him with a hug “What are you working on? Not sure what it is but looks great”
The blond jumped startled at the contact but that only lasted a second, laughing “Y/N, you’re looking bomb today too!” he squeezed you back, kissing you on the cheek “Look. You are witnessing the very first draft for the Open art Competition of next month! Pretty dope, don’t you think?”
He turned to you, excitement in his eyes.
You nodded, feeling his enthusiasm contagious “You bet!” you released him so he could get up “You ever done this before?”
“Nah, this is a pretty big deal… it would be incredible to just make it to the finals though!”
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
“Are you sure it’s him?” you talked to your, what seemed to be a walkie-talkie, seriously.
“Yup! I can distinguish Kazu from suuuper far!”
“Cool, keep your eyes on him Misumi. The moment he can see you, leave your roof position and come down.”
“Roger!”
Yuki narrowed his eyes at your exchange while everyone else kept finishing their tasks “I know the celebration is for Mr. Extrovert… but you being here almost feels like HE is here.”
“That’s what I like to hear, dear Yuki” closing the call with Misumi, you nodded to yourself as you turned around the living room clapping your hands loudly “Okay everyone! Target’s on his way. 500 meters, everybody to his positions, this is not a drill!”
“D-did we have specific positions?” Muku looked around in panic.
Tsuzuru entered the room. “Do we really have to turn off the light? It’s still daylight. Miyoshi-san will see us either way.”
Omi laughed, leaving the last dishes on the table as Homare appeared with Tasuku and a sleeping Hisoka..
“Oh my, this celebration will be sublime! Ah, to gather all of us here together and alude at the majesty of the arts…! I’m thinking of a poem that-"
“Please don’t.” Tenma pleaded at the mere thought “We’ll have enough art once Kazunari arrives.”
Izumi approached you smiling. “This is so exciting.”
You beamed at her. Kazunari had just called you that morning saying he had received a notification that he had somehow gotten first prize at the contest.
And so, being the amazing partner that you were, you decided to prepare a small surprise to celebrate his achievement; He deserved it and everyone had been more than happy to try and come to help.
“I’m home fam!”
Kazunari took off his shoes and waited for the usual noise coming from inside. Nothing.
Confused, he opened the door to the living room when-
“SURPRISEEEE!!”
You jumped on him from behind “Congratulations on your first prize, Kazunari!!”
“Wait, what-! Y/N? Guys?? What are you- is this for me?” he looked around, his mouth open in shock.
“Well, it’s definitely not for anyone that enters.” Banri smirked.
Izumi looked at you “Y/N told us about your win, so everyone tried to make it to congratulate you.”
Kaunari turned to you awestruck. “Wait… really?” you nodded, still not letting him go. “Oh man, you are goals Y/N!” he smiled hard. His heart felt warm and loudly in his chest. He loved you SO much.
Taking his phone out, he looked at the rest “Come on! Everyone gets inside this selfie saying: Wiiin!”
“Wiiiin!”
-
Hisoka
This man I swear.
Forget about the surprising part, It’s so difficult to even give him backhugs.
Not because he doesn’t like them.
He’s just always laying around??
He definitely has a thing for lap pillow but enjoys when you come and squeeze him too.
Having you by his side relaxes him, knowing you’re close.
He grumbles whenever you finish backhugging him to move or go somewhere.
This was your chance. You knew it.
You had come before hand to the dorm, Tsumugi opening the door for you and accompanying you to the living room.
“Thanks again Tsumugi-kun. Sorry for calling you unannounced.”
"Don't worry. I'm happy I happened to be here to open you" The blue-haired man smiled. “I’m afraid Hisoka-kun might still be on his part-time job.” he looked at his watch.
You nodded. You counted on that. “It' fine. Now, this is going to sound really immature Tsumugi-kun, but I really want to surprise him with a hug from behind.”
He laughed. “Rigth. Hisoka-kun seems always at peace when you hug him."
“I also like the surprise part a lot," you moved around the living room. It was shockingly empty given the time. “but I still have to catch Hisoka unaware- or not laying around somewhere. Whatever comes first ”
“Sounds difficult.”
You were about to answer when you heard two distinctive voices coming from the entrance.
“Mikage, go at least to the living room before you collapse. You’ll bother everyone.”
“Tasuku… up.”
“Like hell I will. What am I, your babysitter?”
You turned to the winter troupe leader and started pushing him “Okay, this is it! l’ll hide behind the door. Stay here and call for Hisoka- and act normal!”
“H-hide…? Confuse but unable to say anything, Tsumugi tried to follow your instructions. Not a moment later, the sleepy member entered the room yawning. “…I’m back.”
“W-welcome Hiso-“
"Welcome back!"
You showed up from behind and jumped as you rested your head on his shoulder from behind, squeezing tight.
He turned to you porker face. “Y/N… were you coming today?”
You frowned. That’s not how it was supposed to be. “This is where you’re supposed to get surprised.”
“But I knew it was you.”
“Uh, now? How?”
“I just knew it.”
“Oh man…” dejected, you were about to release him when his arms stopped you. You tilted your head.
“Don’t go.”
At his childish demeanor, you and Tsugumi exchanged glances and softly laughed. Tasuku entered sighing with a bag of marshmallows at hand. "I’m back. Mikage left this thing around the entrance floor again… ah, Y/N.”
“Hey, Tasuku-kun! Want a backhug?”
The actor frowned confused as Hisoka strengthened his grip, grumbling and heading to the couch with you.
Guess he wouldn’t get one.
-
Omi
He likes to feel you leaning on him.
I also visualize him also liking being the little spoon but that’s another thought for another day
Anyhow, he’s comforted by your warmth.
He usually can’t help but turn so he can wrap you in his arms. Gives small kisses on your face, squeezing you with love.
I’m melting, you are so precious to him.
“Is this everything, Y/N-san?”
You smiled at the scriptwriter, wiping the sweat off your forehead “Yes, thank you Tsuzuru. I’m sure you were busy, so I appreciate it.”
He dismissed you with his hands “It’s fine. I’m glad my job as a mover came in handy.” he took notice of the time “ah, but I really should leave for my part-time. You sure it's fine?”
You had managed to find a new place after your roommate had to suddenly go back home due to personals reasons. It had been a nightmare but after a few nights awake looking everywhere, you were able to find a tiny one-bedroom apartment.
You nodded. “Why did I start dating Omi if not to use him as packing mule? He’ll help me unpack.”
“Glad we sorted that out” the tall university student appeared with the last box.
“Okay fine, I guess you’re a bit handsome too.”
He grinned “Where do you want me to put this again?
You hummed while opening the box to see its content “Ah, these are my books. The first room to the right, handsome butler.”
Tsuzuru laughed. “Then I’ll be leaving.”
“Tell everyone at the dorm I left quiche with roasted potatoes and some vegetables in the fridge.” Omi turned to the spring member before entering your place.
“Will do Omi-san.”
“Take care Tsuzuru, thanks again!” Closing the door, you stretched sighing. “Wow, this has been exhausting. Can’t believe I need to open everything again after all the trouble…”
“I’ll make lunch if you start organizing the rooms. Then I’ll help you finish, what do you think?”
……………………………
After a while, you heard a frying noise from the kitchen. Quietly, you stepped in, back hugging him as usual.
“Oh?” Omi turned slightly to see the top of your head, smiling when he noticed you wrapping your arms around him “Hey there, how’s it going?”
“Tiring.” you had your face buried I his back “Thank you for helping me move Omi.”
“No problem. Would have never left you alone to do all of this.”
“…Aren’t you making a little bit too much?” you peeked from behind him, still not letting go. “You know it’s just the two of us, right? No other twenty people to eat the leftovers.”
He laughed, stirring the pan. “I’m just making a bit more so you can have something to eat tomorrow.”
“You are too perfect, you know that?” you smiled. “Thanks.”
He left the pan and turned to finally kiss you as he caressed your arms. “I could say the same about you.”
Saioumaweek Prompt: Kokichi’s Birthday!
HEY EVERYONE, I KNOW IT’S A DAY LATE, BUT!!! Wanted to write something for Kokichi’s birthday!! 🍰🍇 Just something very fluffy and cute for his special day...
Summary: It’s nearing the midnight of Kokichi’s birthday. He had sent a text to Shuichi for an impromptu hangout, wanting to spend private time with him since they’ll celebrate with their classmates later tomorrow, and Kokichi with his organization later that night! After a fun time at the amusement park, and enjoying some food and cake together... they head back to Shuichi’s house together, where Shuichi gives him a very special gift. And from there, just a very soft moment between the boys...
So basically, just some cute mindless fluff I wanted to write with the boys~ As always, to anyone who gives it a read: thank you in advanced, and I hope you’ll enjoy! ♥ And Happy Birthday once more to the glorious supreme leader Kokichi Ouma!!! 🎉
Running down the late light streets at 11:00pm towards the main Shibuya train station... not exactly what Shuichi expected to suddenly find himself doing. It all had started with an unexpected text from Kokichi 10 minutes earlier. Saihara Shuichi, WHY are you late!!!’ Is what it said. Shuichi-understandingly-was very confused, and responded:
{Txt: Ouma-kun} Huh...? Late??? Late for what?
{Txt: Saihara-chan!} Huh! so not only do you have the audacity of keeping someone like ME waiting; you don’t even remember you were supposed to spend time with me tonight? s...s-so CRUEL, Saihara-chan...!!!
Which was a lie, of course: they didn’t plan to actually meet up tonight, as they were going to see each other tomorrow, anyway; at school where Kokichi’ll celebrate his birthday in the day with his classmates, before celebrating it with DICE later that night. But as always, Shuichi played along, knowing this was always Kokichi’s way of asking him to hang out without directly saying so... so he “apologized” for daring to “forget” their promise, before he rushed out the house like that after getting dressed, towards the train station where Kokichi told him to meet him. He honestly didn’t mind spending personal time with Kokichi tonight; in fact, he was happy about it. They probably wouldn’t have had time to tomorrow, with how busy the supreme leader would be... so a ‘pre-celebration’ together, just the two of them.... he was excited for it.
Once he made it to the station, he comes to a stop before taking a moment to catch his breath. "Hah....hah.... I-I made it..." He lifts his head up to glance around, looking for Kokichi. "I-I don't see Ouma-kun anywhere, though... I'm sure I'm at the right entra-"
"BOO!"
"Ahh!?" Shuichi jumped when he also felt hands grip his sides firmly. He quickly turn ls around to see the culprit. "O-Oh!! ...O-Ouma-kuun! You scared the heck out of me..."
"Nishishi~! Surpriiise!" He giggles, having purposely hidden behind a nearby wall to scare him. "You actually made it in less than 10 minutes! I'm impressed: well....not that I would've spared you long enough to explain yourself..."
“Well that’s because you told me you’d “send your boys after me” if I didn’t. Yeah, right.” He playfully tugged on his cheek, emitting a giggle from the boy. “So what would you like to do? I don’t imagine there’s many places still open tonight...”
“Lots of things! Like going to the amusement park: it’s still open. That’s why I wanted you to meet me here at the train station. And then after that, you’ll treat me to a fancy dinner and allow me to take over your bed when we go back to your house in the end! I’ll be my birthday midnight by then, so you must do everything I wish without no complaint~!”
“I-I see...” He slumps his shoulders, giving an exasperated smile. “Well then, you certainly got a lot on your agenda already, hmm? So the amusement park, then dinner, and then you want to stay over my place...” His smile brightening, he gives a nod. “Sure! That all sounds good to me: whatever you’d like to do Ouma-kun, we will do it.”
“You mean it!?” Beaming, Kokichi does several happy hops. “Yaaay~! That’s why Shumai’s the best! O-kaaay, let’s hurry down the stairs: our train will arrive in 5 more minutes!”
“Oh-!” Grabbing Shuichi’s hand, Kokichi rushes them down the stairs so they could make it down to the line they need to ride. Minutes later, their train did arrive, where they grabbed a window seat. They simply chatted about whatever, admiring the view of the city lights after exiting the train tunnel. It reminded them of the times they’d sometimes take walks together along the beach shore, where they could admire the skyline nearby at night. It was one of the times they could feel most relaxed, without a care in the world...
Once they got off the train, it was only a short walk until they reached the amusement park. While it was still expectantly pretty lively with people, it wasn't nearly as packed as it would be in the daytime. "Alright, Ouma-kun: where would you like to ride, first?"
Without missing a beat, he explains: "The roller coaster!!"
"..Eh?"
That frozen smile on Shuichi's face makes Kokichi laugh, a mischievous gleam in his eyes as his smile widens: "You heard me!! The roller coaster! Ohh I can't wait for Shumai to scream his lungs out!"
"W-W-Wait, wait, wait! C-Can we not ride something more uh....m-milder like the Ferris wheel or some-" Kokichi starts dragging him to the direction of the roller coaster. "thiiiing?!"
"Norpe!! Wahahaha!"
"Ouma-kuuun!!!" While Shuichi wasn't afraid of roller coasters, they still weren't exactly a ride he'd choose to get on compared to anything else. But for Kokichi, he'll get on it.
"Waaaaaah!!!"
"Yaaahoooo!!!" One screaming in exaggerated delight, and the other in distress, they were zipping through the air with how fast they were going. "We're going so fast, Saihara-chan!! Don't you love it?!"
"Noooo, I don't!! I don't at alll!!" He screams out, literally wrapping his arms around Kokichi as best as he could, as if holding on for dear life.
"N-Nishishi, hah hah haaah! You sound so funny when you scream, Shumai!!"
"D-Damn you, Ouma-kuun!!"
Kokichi cackled even more, cheeks turning a slight pink when Shuichi held onto him. This made coming here and riding the rollercoaster all the more worth it, now. Once the ride was over, Kokichi merrily steps off the ride without a care in the world. "Woo, that was fun! Right, Saihara-chan?"
"Guuuuh...." Meanwhile, Shuichi was blue in the face as he slumped over a nearby bench. "Y-Yeah. Sooo fun...." ("Thank god I didn't eat yet...") He thinks to himself...
"There, there...” He slowly strokes Shuichi’s hair, feeling just a little bad for him. “I have to admit... I didn’t expect you to actually get on with me. I guess you really do know better than to disappoint me, hmm?” He smiles, clearly joking. “But that’s a lie: Shumai was being so brave for me... it makes me happy.” There was a sincere touch of softness in his tone. He then leans his head up a bit, so that he can plant a soft kiss to Shuichi’s cheek.
“Ah....” Shuichi gasped softly at the kiss, cheeks now turning a warm shade of pink as he nuzzled his head slightly against his hand. “O-Ouma-kun...” It made his heart flutter in his chest, and to hear that he could make him happy like that. Anything was always worth it to make Kokichi happy... “I...I-I’m glad that... it made you happy! Even if, well-felt my life flashed before my eyes several times-I-I guess I also... had fun riding it, still...”
“Nishishi... good...” That made Kokichi just as happy to hear. Already, he was having fun on their little date. It made him wonder if Shuichi even saw this as one, knowing how oblivious the detective can be. Giving Shuichi’s head a few more pats, Kokichi hops out his seat. “Alllright! Time to get on more rides!! We’ll spin super fast on the teacups, bump into each other super hard in the bumper cart rides, and-”
“You’re seriously trying to kill meeee!!” And riding the many different rides at the amusement park, they did. While they didn’t actually spin super fast on the teacups (which Kokichi playfully “threatened” to do several times, resulting in very amusing Shuichi yelps as Kokichi’s hand was gently smacked each time), they still had a fun time on them; along with the bumper carts, swing rides, the games at the booths and arcade section, enjoying treats at the snack booths.... by the time they decided to get on the Ferris Wheel as the final ride for the night, they were fitting several bags of stuff they bought from the item shops, and prizes won at the game: including a giant white cat plushie Shuichi won for him at a shooting game. Even if he insisted Shuichi win him one of the best possible prizes as a worthy ‘tribute’, he didn’t expect him to actually try multiple times to get a high enough score to win him that cat plushie. It made him swoon.... he’d definitely treasure it.
“Wooow....” Kokichi leaned up from his seat a bit to observe the view of the amusement park below and the skyline in the distance. “So pretty....!”
“Yeah...” Shuichi looks out the cart’s window, admiring the scenery, too. “I’ve never really been here this late, before: I never thought the view from the Ferris wheel could look so pretty.”
“Makes you all the more happy I dragged you here, riiiight~?” He snickers, looking towards Shuichi with a smile. “I had a lot of fun, and was spoiled tons as I deserve to be! And don’t forget, we’re not done just yet: you still owe me a 5-star dinner aaand your bed.”
“Yes, yes...” He playfully rolls his eyes with a chortle. “Trust me, I didn’t forget. And I will still do all that for you: happily so.” He nods, smiling softly at him.
That smile, and hearing just how happily Shuichi will indulge and spoil Kokichi so much like this.... it made a deep blush spread on his cheeks, feeling his heart bounce around in his chest. “You’re the best, Shumai.” He flashes him an even brighter and bigger smile: one as genuine as the gentle tone he told him that in... and before he knew it, he was moving to sit next to Shuichi, so that he could lean his head against his shoulder, closing his eyes in content. “Mmm....” Until the ride is over, he just wants to stay just like this: enjoying the warmth of leaning against his beloved’s side....
Shuichi’s smile warmed when seeing Kokichi lean against him like that. Then when gazing down at their hands.... they were so close together, just barely touching. Maybe... it’d be okay to do this, he thinks to himself: to go and... rest his hand gently on top of Kokichi’s, intertwining their fingers together.
“....!” This made Kokichi open his eyes in surprise, darting down at their intertwined hands, before looking up at Shuichi. He was tempted to tease the heavily blushing boy who didn’t dare look Kokichi’s way, for being surprisingly bold like that. But for once, he wanted to spare Shuichi and not fluster him too badly. So to reassure him he’s okay with this... he gives Shuichi’s hand a soft squeeze, intertwining their fingers together just a bit more, before he closes his eyes back once more, an even bigger smile on his reddened face.
“Ahh...” A sea of relief washing over him, he also closes his eyes and leans a bit more against Kokichi, too. He also wanted to enjoy this moment as much as he could before they would have to eventually get off. He almost wouldn’t want the ride to end... neither of them did.
After they left the amusement park, it took a moment to find a restaurant that was even still open at this hour. They eventually did, and while it wasn’t some super fancy place or anything... Kokichi didn’t truly care about that: just being able to eat with Shuichi was good enough for him... they still enjoyed some great food together, and the detective even bought him a to-go cake that they could enjoy together later at his house, which Kokichi was very much looking forward to.
Once they arrived at Shuichi’s home, they quietly made their way to his bedroom. An impromptu sleepover: the perfect excuse he can give to his aunt and uncle when they’ll surely wonder why Kokichi is suddenly there in the morning. Having brought no change of clothes made for the perfect excuse of him grabbing some of Shuichi’s pajamas to wear, instead. They were notably a little big on him, but why he was all the more cozy in them. He’d tried not to pay attention to how much it made his heart flutter just wearing his beloved’s clothes.... and while Shuichi would be too shy to outright say it: he thinks Kokichi looks cute in his clothes, especially because they’re a bit oversized on him.
Shuichi also took a moment to change into pajamas as they sit at his coffee table. The container of the blackberry lavender cake Shuichi bought them sits in the center, and he made them cups of tea to go along with it. He cuts them both a slice, serving Kokichi one with a smile. “Enjoy.”
“Thank you~! I totes will!” He chimes, uttering a hum in delight at how delicious it tasted, along with the honey green tea Shuichi made them. As they were eating, curiosity couldn’t help but make him ask: “So! Saihara-chan definitely got me a present, right? Where is it, where is it? I wanna see!”
“Of course I did.” He nods with a smile, before chuckling. “It’d ruin the surprise if I told you before showing you, wouldn’t it? It’s still in the bag I was going to bring to school tomorrow, since I planned on giving it to you during the party. But since you’re already here... might as well just give it to you tonight, yeah? After we finish our cakes, I’ll show you it.”
“Okaaaay!” While he was usually impatient when he really wanted something, Kokichi gives several excited nods. From how that sounded, Shuichi must have gotten him something good. No: he knows it will be good, because it’s from Shuichi. “I can’t wait! A worthy present for a supreme leader of evil like me.... perhaps I’ll promote you to a higher rank in my organization if the the gift really wows me, hmmm?”
“I love the implication I was one of your subordinates to begin with. But wow, a higher ranking one, huh? What an honor: then I hope the present will be impress you well enough, ‘Boss’.” He plays along with a laugh, Kokichi laughing with him. He truly does hope Kokichi will love it, though: as he wanted to make it something extra special.... when they were done cleaning and quietly cleaned their dishes, Kokichi got comfy on Shuichi’s bed as he saw him go into his closet to pull something out. “Here is the bag containing your present.”
“Oho!” Giddily, Kokichi sits upright on the bed, excitedly kicking his feet in the air. “Present time!! Let’s see what Shumai has bestowed upon me!”
Smiling, he nods and hands Kokichi the gift bag. “Here you go. I... really hope you’ll like your gift. And since it’s past midnight now... Happy Birthday.”
“Thanks, Saihara-chan! And yeah, I’d better: if you’d wish to survive but that’s a lie, of course I’ll love it! Shumai never breaks my high expectations, after all!” He snickers, emitting a shy giggle from Shuichi. Without taking a second longer, Kokichi reaches into the bag.... and his eyes widened in surprise. “....!”
In Kokichi’s hands was a journal; a handmade one. The cover was a deep purple color, and made out of soft leather, complete with a thin strap to be able to close it once tied. In the lower left corner of the journal, ‘K.O.’ was engraved in gold lettering, symbolizing the initials of his first and last name. Kokichi slowly coursed his fingers down the fabric of the journal, admiring its soft touch. Shuichi had been nervously standing in place as he saw Kokichi examine the cover. “It’s a journal....! A-A handmade one. I thought, if I made one myself... it’d make the gift feel all the more special to you.”
“A handmade one, huh...” Shuichi had actually made this for him. To make his gift feel all the more special: Shuichi put in that much effort... for him. “Ah...” Feeling his cheeks burn, it was hard to ignore the loud pounding his heart. Just when he thought he couldn’t fall for the detective any harder than he already does: he’s proven wrong, once again.
“S...So... what do you think?”
“The cover feels soft.... I like it. And my initials being engraved in gold... nishishi, you truly are aware just how much of a big deal I am, huh? As expected from my beloved Saihara-chan!” He cheers, smiling brightly at him. “I love it! And you know that’s not a lie!”
“Ahhh....!” His eyes shining in delight, relief instantly washed over him as he clasped his hands together. “O-Ohh, I’m so happy to hear that, Ouma-kun: so happy that you love it! I thought you might like the soft leather and gold letters, heheh... ah, but there’s more-!” Now sitting down close to him, Shuichi gestures: “Open the journal and look at the inside cover. I left a...l-little surprise for you!”
“Ohhh?” Curious, Kokichi does as told and opens it to look at the inside cover. There was a small note inside, also written in golden letters. It reads:
‘Ouma Kokichi’s very own personal journal! One befitting of a supreme leader, I hope? Hahaha: in all seriousness, I hope that you love it, Ouma-kun. Happy Birthday, and may today and the following days be great to you... my beloved supreme leader.’ - Shuichi
“...............” The expression on Kokichi’s face froze. Eyes widened, he purses his lips, stifling a sharp gasp that wanted to leave it. He felt his cheeks burn even worse than ever, not being able to help the small whine that leaves him. “Nnnnghh....” From the heartfelt message, to Shuichi calling him his beloved supreme leader: that officially obliterated Kokichi, feeling like his heart was going to explode. “K...Killing me with something so damn sappy.... d-damn you, detective!!” He points an accusatory finger at him, feigned look of irritation on his completely red face. “How dare you!? This is treason!”
“H-Hahaha! That doesn’t even make sense!” He laughs, feeling his own cheeks darken. He shyly darts his eyes as he scratches his cheek. “I-I just, um... wanted to leave you something nice that you could always read whenever you use this journal. To ah... put a smile on your face...”
“So damn cheesy...” Yet there was nothing but fondness in Kokichi’s tone as he said that. Shuichi being so cheesy like that, was exactly what he loved so much about him. Carefully placing the journal down beside him on the bed after he curiously flipped through the empty pages.... Kokichi goes to wrap his arms tightly against Shuichi in a big hug, burying his face in his chest. “...I love the message: really, I do. It makes me so happy. My beloved always makes me so happy...”
“!” A surprised gasp left him when Kokichi suddenly hugged him tightly. But then he instantly returns it, smiling warmly at him. “I’m so happy that you do.... and that I always make you happy. I always want to, since... when I’m with Ouma-kun, I’m always happy, too.”
“Heheh...” Nuzzling his face into his chest, he lets out the happiest sigh. He was so happy, it was nearly overwhelming: a feeling he wasn’t used to... but loves it so much. “Good... I’m glad.” And as he nuzzled his chest, he could hear Shuichi’s heartbeat. It was so calm, so soothing... he wants to just stay in his arms all night. “Thanks so much for the gift, Saihara-chan: I’ll treasure it forever and ever.... and because I’m so nice, it’s only fair I give you a special reward as thanks.” Feeling his heart suddenly pound faster, he was admittedly incredibly nervous about doing this. Would Shuichi even like this for a reward? Would it make him uncomfortable or upset? Before those anxious thoughts started playing in his head, Kokichi quickly buries them. He wanted to do this: for so long, he’s wanted to. While a bit reluctant to, he breaks out of the hug.... so that he can gently cup Shuichi’s chin, making him look directly at Kokichi. that hand would then go to cup his cheek. “Here.... for my beloved detective.” And as he slowly leans up, closing the distance between them further and further... there’s a special kind of love and warmth in Kokichi’s eyes, that he would never give to anyone else. Those eyes slowly come to a close... and after a quick pause, right before their lips touch... he closes the distance between them in a soft kiss.
“....!” Shuichi’s eyes had widened when Kokichi cupped his chin and leaned in closer. He really was going to kiss him... something Shuichi always wanted to do with him as well, but he never thought it would happen. And that look Kokichi gave him as he did lean in, and eventually locked his lips with his... made Shuichi’s heart burst with warmth and happiness. A soft hum emitted from him as his eyes also came to a close. He leaned his face in just a bit more to press his lips more against Kokichi’s. Kokichi returns the gesture by also pressing his lips firmer against his, gently stroking Shuichi’s cheek now. The kiss felt so nice to them both, finding the other’s lips so soft. It made them not want the kiss to end anytime soon.... and even after that kiss was over, their faces stayed very close to each other’s. “Ouma....kun....”
“Shumai...” Their foreheads touching, he gently nuzzles his. “...Now give me one. As...another special gift for me. Spoil me some more...”
“...Of course: happily so.” Without hesitation, Shuichi closes the distance between them in a kiss this time, lips pressed more firmly against Kokichi’s. Kokichi lets out a very satisfied sigh in the kiss, slowly positioning himself to sit on Shuichi’s lap as he throws his arms around his neck. Shuichi wraps his arms around Kokichi’s waist in turn, soft sighs and pants emitting from the two as they gently peck each other’s lips. And they kissed each other again... and again.... just enjoying the feel of the other’s lips so much they didn’t want to stop. It was until they literally needed to catch their breath, do they finally break away. They exhale and pant deeply, faces heated and hearts pounding like crazy. “H-Hah....ahh....th-that, um... th-that was nice...”
“Nishi....s-shishi....” Kokichi nods his head in agreement. “Mm... it was. I’ve always wanted to kiss my beloved.... and if he’s okay with it... I want to kiss him whenever I want, even after my birthday’s over.”
“Heheh.... of course I’d be okay with that. Since I...I-I....” The look in his eyes grow much more loving as he softly whispers: “....I love you so much, and: I want to be with you. K....Kokichi.....”
“...........................” For a moment, Kokichi had to question if he actually heard that. That he heard Shuichi say he loves him... and called him Kokichi.... “A...Ahhhh....” Oh it killed him so badly, he immediately buried his face in Shuichi’s chest once more, needing to take a moment to deeply exhale and calm down. Everything Kokichi wanted... was happening in one ight: on his birthday, no less. It made him emotional, needing to fight back actual tears that dared spring up i his eyes. Tears of nothing but absolute happiness. “Shumai... truly can surprise me all the time, h-huh...? Inflicting a fatal combo attack on me like that....”
“H-Hehehe....” Shuichi was honestly surprised he confessed, too. But in the heat of the moment, and being so full of love for the boy... he couldn’t hold it in any longer. He just had to finally tell him how much he loves him. “S-So...um.... would you like that?”
“Dummy...” Sniffling, he looks back up at him. The smile he gives him is so warm... the warmest smile he’s ever given to someone. “Of course I would. You’d have to be out of your mind to not wanna be Shumai’s boyfriend. Since, well....you stole my heart.... and I always want to be with you, too. I-I.... love you, too. Shuichi...” Saying it so bluntly was so embarrassing... but he was happy to finally be able to say, how much he loves him, too.
Shuichi could feel himself grow emotional as well when Kokichi accepts his confession. “A-Aww, Ouma-ku....K-Kokichi.... and... I’m so happy!! Th-That you feel the same! You ah, a-also stole my heart...!”
“Mmhm...” Though before he could die from how flustered he was, he suddenly exclaims: “N...Now cuddle me! The birthday king demands it!” And after placing the journal safely on the table, he gets under the blankets, patting the spot next to him. “Come, come!”
“H-Hahaha, alright, alright! Here I come-!” After taking a quick moment to turn off the lights, Shuichi crawls into bed with him, too. He then goes to shyly, but happily wrap his arms around him, pulling Kokichi close against him.
“Ehehe~! Shumai pillow obtained!! And he’s not allowed to let go of me the whooole night!” He giggles, beaming up at him.
“And letting go of you, I shall not.” He giggles as well, softly cuddling Kokichi. It makes the happiest little noise leave the supreme leader, who snuggled up even more in his arms as he cuddled him back. It felt like Heaven in Shuichi’s arms... he felt so warm, so happy.... so safe. A combination of things he never thought he’d feel in someone’s arms. Waking up as Shuichi’s boyfriend in the morning... he was already looking so forward to waking up. But for now: he’ll enjoy being cozy in his beloved’s arms. A soft yawn, one hand goes to stroke Kokichi’s hair as Shuichi mumbles: “Alrighty... let’s get some sleep. You’ve got quite an eventful day later in the day, after all! I hope your birthday will continue being a great one for you.”
He hums happily at he hair strokes, nuzzling thee back of his head against his hand. “Mmm...! I’ll get some sleep, yeah.... and thanks, Shuichi: totes! You already made it feel like the best birthday ever. Thanks again for coming out with me tonight: and for the prizes you won me, the journal... everything. Let’s have lots more fun later!”
“Heheh. of course, Kokichi: Everything was worth it to make you happy. Yes...! Let’s... but for now: goodnight...sw-sweetheart.”
His heart leaps when he calls him his sweetheart, looking at him with love-filled eyes. “You’re so sappy... I love it. Goodnight, my beloved Shumai~! And thanks again....” And with one last kiss they give each other, the two get comfier in each other’s arms before eventually drifting off to sleep. Never before has Kokichi been happier to send Shuichi a text for an impromptu hangout: because of it, he was going to start the day later as Shuichi’s boyfriend.... and Shuichi being Kokichi’s. This birthday was going to be one Kokichi remembers forever and ever...
Ace being Ace
this was written during a roleplay session with @twst-cookie so thank you for feeding me this cuz MPHH-
Anyways, sorry, here’s the fic.
tw: swearing and perspective change
----
You were doing homework in Ramshackle- got to keep those grades (and the rent) up, ya know?- with Ace (“Hey, hey, Y/N, I’m bored~”) when Grim, your faithful yet cheeky companion burst in the dorm, accompanied by Azul.
‘Oh, Azul...’ You thought worriedly. You don’t like Azul- he’s fucking scary, man! And the Leech twins too! You shiver at the thought of his overblot- eep!
“Grim!” You shout, dropping your materials as Ace stands up- perhaps, in your defense?
"IT'S AZUL- the mean octopus guy that was fat-" Grim grumbles, quickly interrupted by Azul’s threatening smile.
"Ara ara, Grim-kun, I thought we meant to keep that secret?" Azul questions, his ever permanent smile slipping as he steps into Ramshackle.
"EEP!" Grim screamed, burying his face into your stomach, which you comply to. "Help me!" “Um, did uh, Grim do anything?" You ask, confused and scared out of your mind. "Why, yes." Azul nodded, his smile affixed back . "He broke a couple of plates during his service-" "He forced me 'ta work for him!" Grim retaliated stupidly.
“Oh my god Grim...” Ace sighed. “Seriously? What did you get, Deuce’s stupidity?”
“You’re one to talk!”
"Now now, don't go twisting your words.” Azul miffed, pushing his glasses up. “I offered you a job, which you took in exchange for whatever you wish."
"And I worked!" Grim protested. "You did, but during those work hours, you broke plenty of dishes, so!" Azul slammed a piece of paper with bills written on them. "Please have all of these paid by Thursday."
"...In... In 2 days?" You blinked, worried.
Azul nodded at your bewildered tone, sky blue eyes blazing- ‘Is he a sadist?’ you quietly wonder. "In 2 days." "What happens if we don't?" Grim asked stupidly. "Well, you've seen Jade and Floyd, haven't you?" Azul simply replies. "I'm sure that'll suffice for an answer. Then..." Azul walked out. "I'll see you in 2 days." The door shut. "..."
You’re pissed, as you should be. "Grim." You ask demurely, far more demure then you usually sound. That rings some warning bells in Ace’s head.
"Y-yes?" Grim has some balls to answer you, but at least he’s stuttering. "Do you..." You gaze at the cat, one hand gripping the chair you sat on and the other balled into a quivering fist. "Do you realize, my dear, dear cat, what you've done?" "Yes...???" "Good. Then fix it." You answer coolly. ”Yourself.” "Wha- you're not going to help me?!" Grim wail.
”No!” You shout back. “Why should I?!”
”Cuz we count as 1 student, so if I break something, you also gotta help!” Grim counters, puffing.
”You say that, but you don’t help me with anything...” You grumble back, crossing your arms insistently. “I’m not helping.”
”Wha-- wa....” Grim’s ears droop sadly, giving you his best puppy- how ironic- eyes. You don’t gaze into them, knowing you’d immediately lose if you do.
Ace ,ever the cheeky bastard, called you. “Y/N.” You face Ace for a second, but that second was the mistake.
In place of Ace was Grim, still with those puppy eyes- oh you lost, and you knew it. Grim did too, as he grins cheekily at your defeat and cheers. You give Ace a dirty glare, the boy smirking- you wonder why he teases you so.
“Yeah~~ Now, let’s get to it, henchmen! I wanna eat my tuna calmly today~~” Grim hums, flying out of the dorm.
‘Wasn’t he depressed just a few moments ago...???’ You sigh, slowly rising from your chair. “See you, Ace.”
“See you~” Your classmate hummed, not seeming to care about your predicament.
‘At least act like you care, jerk...’ You frown, shutting the door with more force then you would. Unbeknownst to you, Ace placed a few madols into your piggy bank (yes you use a piggy bank shut UP ACE IT’S NOT CHILDISH FUCK YOU-), a soft smile placate on his face.
*2 days later*
You woot, slapping the appropriate amount of madol bills on one of Monstro Lounge’s tables. “YESSSSSSSS!!!”
“Ah, it really is the appropriate amount.” Azul says. He sounds a little defeated in your opinion- hehe, that just means more wins for you~
“YEAH, HENCHMEN!” Grim lifts up a paw and you press your palm against it, despite it being HIS fault your in this predicament in the first place, but you don’t really care about the specifics at the moment.
“Ehh, I can’t squeeze Shrimpy and Baby Seal? Boring~ Azul, you promised!” Floyd pouts, his cheeks puffing up in disappointment.
“Yes Azul, you did promise us you would have someone prepared.” Jade agrees, his tall form sweeping a gaze over your small ones. You feel a shiver rush down your back- why do they sound like they want to kill you?!
You and Grim exchange glances. ‘Let’s get out of here!’ Without a second to waste, you sprint the fuck out of there, Grim following close behind.
-
You bang the doors of Heartslabyul open to Riddle’s chagrin- look, you need to celebrate this victory and the only people you knew who are free live here! You fall onto one of their England-style couches and cheer: “We did it!!!!”
“YEAHHH!!” Grim joins you in your victory, flying in circles in the air. You do a little jig on the couch, uncaring of your surroundings because FUCK, you just beat Azul! Mc-fucking Azul Ashen grotto, evil business man octo boy! Yass!!!!
“Y/N, Grim, what are you doing?” Riddle frowns, glancing at your happy and disheveled state.
“Riddle-senpai!” You grin at him. “Guess what?”
“I don’t have time for-”
“We beat Azul in his game!” You interrupt, too happy to care.
"Game?” Ace and Deuce ask, walking to the common room. “Sup, dorm leader!”
“Ace! We beat Azul- scary octo man!” Ace snickers at the nickname along with Deuce.
“What do you mean?” Riddle asks.
“Well...” You explain the ordeal, pinching Grim a few times in the process (”I said I’m sorry!!!”).
“I see... well, I still don’t condone students barging into the lounge, but good job.” Riddle acknowledges, patting your head- head pat!!!
“Thanks senpai~” You hum happily.
“Ey, nice, prefect~” Ace squishes you into a hug, grabbing your waist and pulling you flush against his chest. You blush at this, but brush it off as Ace being a tease. “I wonder what the bastard looked like when he saw you won!”
“He looked like this-” Grim poorly demonstrates, adding more comedy to the conversation. Deuce laughs at this, sitting next to Ace.
“I don’t think he looked like that...”
“But it’s true!”
As the conversation goes on, you still on Ace’s lap, the boy smiles against your shoulder, his arms laxly holding you close, and you don’t pull away either, too happy to care. He might have a decreased allowance, but its all worth it to see you smile like this- a golden fleck against a sea of blues.
Deuce catches a glance at his love-struck roommate and snickers to himself, knowing what a fool Ace is when you’re out of sight- he vehemently denies his feelings, but even Deuce could see how whipped he is for you.
Saving London - Part 2
Summary:
Now a Rook with a more structured calling to his life, Jacob finds himself delighted to be apart of the gang. Though his mind runs wild with opportunity as his ambitions tempt him to want more.
[I’m finally giving you the update you deserve! I want to make this a longer series because I have so much in store for this series! Posting more Jacob Frye content gives me so much life and I’m so excited to share it with you all! :)]
-
“You’ve got to be joking.” The monotone voice of his sister had come as nothing of a surprise to the newly found Rook.
“Oh, come on, Evie!” Jacob huffed, readjusting his cap as he looked onwards at his sister who sat with perfect posture at the small table. Her brows furrowed as she focused in on her activities of sewing up one of her dresses that was in dire need of a touch up. She hadn’t been too fond of the clothing yet saw no other option if she were to continue her day-to-day life without ridicule of the others. “It’s not as bad as all that!”
“You’re parading around the streets in a gang, Jacob. Tell me what part about that sounds remotely responsible.” A light huff then came as she pricked her finger, jaw clenching as she decided to lay off her efforts of the dress. It was too strenuous a task in the wrong mindset, especially with Jacob having been gloating about this new so-called gang he had found refuge in.
“I’m doing what is best for the city.”
“You’re being a bloody fool!” She stood abruptly, scraping the chair back against the hardened floor as her glare bore into the twin across from her. “I will not have my only brother run amuck of the city when he can barely put one foot in front of the other! This is dangerous, Jacob. We’re talking about the possibly of life or death. How can you not fathom that?” It seemed her lectures only came more often, and even from the pit of concern, Jacob could only bear so much from his twin. For once he wanted her to see things how he did, and the benefit of what joining the Rooks would do for London.
“You worry too much, dear sister.” He shook his head, glancing back at the door which he entered. “Anyways, I’m off.” She groaned, fists balling as she watched her sibling descend out of the room and towards the exit of the building. “Duty calls and I have a very important meeting to attend.” He opened the door, standing in the frame as he threw an empty grin. “Wish me luck!”
“Bloody halfwit.” Evie mumbled, hesitantly coming back to her seat as she regained her composure, while her brother had made haste through Southwark. It hadn’t of been the most welcoming of all boroughs at this time of night but knowing that a handful of his gang were awaiting his presence, it gave him confidence to continue through the dark streets.
The Duke of York pub had finally come into view after rounding the final corner, the sights and sounds of the liveliness from within already echoing down the street. He was eager to make way from his abode and indulge in a few drinks with pleasant company, though he also held a hint of doubt. His intent was more than just a few easy drinks on a night out, but a promotion in a sense.
The numbers to the gang were rising and he had yet to utter a word directly to its leader. It had been eating at him ever since he pulled the green jacket on for the first time. To be apart of something greater than himself was one thing, but to contribute in ways that truly mattered was another. He wanted proper training, combat skills, defense techniques… the lot. And by the way he had seen Lily hold herself in any sort of confrontation against the enemy gang had led him to believe that she was the one to train him towards his ambitions.
But the question was… would she find interest in training another mere Rook? A lump came up in his throat as he forcefully swallowed it down again. He just wanted more than what life had offered him, and perhaps with a push in the right direction, he could become so much more than he imagined.
Entering into the bright lights of the pub had him hold a hand over his eyes; the darkness outside in the streets a complete contrast to the environment inside. The music and chatter were louder than ever, a crowded atmosphere with more than half of it being Rooks had him physically relax. He was safe, now surrounded by those he was familiar with.
A few Rooks made use of their night by swinging themselves around the open floor, mostly too intoxicated to properly watch their footing or those around them. A handful gathered around the piano singing away any worries with sloshing drinks in each hand. Some stood chatting behind the bar while most had a seat on the tables surrounding. It was a sight to behold, and a few rough pats on the back in acknowledgement to his green colors had Jacob smile.
He came to the bar, turning to lean back on it while his eyes searched the perimeter. His sights sought out the woman that had brought all these people together, a confident leader which aspired others to fight for what was right. And the mere memory of her youthful appearance had Jacob’s fists ball subconsciously as his gaze darted around.
“Lookin’ for someone?” His head turned to the woman leant next to him, a pint in her hand and cool grin plastered to her lips.
“Ah, yes actually.” He cleared his throat and stood tall once more. “I’m looking for Miss Harvard.” There hadn’t been an immediate response but rather a slow chug to finish her drink before slamming back on the counter behind them. Jacob’s brow raised as he watched the woman wipe her mouth with the back of her hand before sticking it out in use of a greeting.
“Name’s Belle.” His eyes flickered between her own and her hand before exchanging a firm shake.
“Jacob.” A nod. She had obviously been sizing up the young lad, sights set from his feet up to his cap with a devilish glint in her eye. It hadn’t of made Jacob uncomfortable per se, but rather eager to find his leader before he lost an opportunity.
“You’re quite young. Fit too. We need more like you in this gang.” She pulled wider to the corner of her lips, exposing a toothy grin before flicking hair from her face and simply nodding over her left shoulder. “Boss is over there, and quite entertained she is.” Jacob followed her line, finally setting eyes on the woman sitting at the back corner of the pub. Her feet crossed over the edge of the table as a pint sat comfortably in her lap. Once again was her hood down, allowing her locks to sit around her shoulders.
Jacob couldn’t help but swallow the lump in his throat as how withheld she appeared. She looked like a leader, one that would ravage anyone that put a hand on her Rooks. And against all the rough and ready Blighters splayed throughout each burrow, she was exactly what London needed.
“If you wanna talk to her, go right ahead.” Belle paid for another pint as she leant off the counter, eventually grabbing her drink and smirking down at the young man. “But try opening with somethin witty and clever.” Jacob locked eyes with Belle once more. “She’s a hard woman to impress.” A wink was all he was left with as Belle left him alone at the bar.
“Well,” he muttered, watching Lily down more of her drink, a smirk subtly spread across her lips as she listened in on the conversation, “thanks for the vote of confidence.”
The Rooks around her had been passionately stuck in a card game, voices rising, and money exchanged in a competitive manner. She had simply sat back to watch her members indulge in a bit of gambling; a nice turn of events in celebration to just having reclaimed another stronghold in Southwark. Her gang was expanding and growing in size which aided her cause to bring down Crawford Starrick. The man had been nothing but a heavy weight over the city, and the people in it suffered terribly from the oppression.
It had to stop.
“You’re a bloody cheat, you are!” The large brute beside her, Travis, threw his cards down onto the table as he pointed over at the man across him, Pete. With his own hat and moustache adorning his nimbler features in comparison, he laughed at his friend as he took his money.
“You’ve a large head with nothing inside it!” Lily had laughed, taking another swing at her drink as her eyes cast over the pub. It was lively and loud, the people in it seeming to have been enjoying themselves after a genuinely long time.
Though the sudden movement of a Rook caught her eye, brow arching as she watched a young man slick back his hair under his cap and maneuver through those around him. He appeared to be making his way towards her which in turn had sparked her curiosity. He was easy on the eyes and held himself rather well, though seemed unfamiliar. He must have been new.
Jacob bravely came to the edge of the table, hands tensely by his sides as he lifted his sights to the very person that had made this event possible. His voice catching in his throat to see she was already looking at him, eyes slipping up along him as if to size him up. A lump caught in his throat once more as he did his best to ignore it, fingers rubbing against each other in nerves in contrast to how relaxed Lily had been.
His throat cleared catching momentary attention from those around the table. Travis took a gander at his before serving out another round of cards. “Yes, boy?” Lily looked between the brute back to Jacob, waiting to see how he would respond. He was out of his element, yet here he was.
“I uh,” he ran a hand down the side of his pants, clearing any sweat as he made memory back to Belle’s words. Witty and clever. “I wanted to introduce myself. Properly.” Not so much witty and clever as he had hoped, but upfront and honest which had to count for something. “I’m Jacob, Jacob Frye.”
“You a new recruit?” Pete had asked, looking beside him to get a glance at the man. Though he hadn’t appeared to take interest, eyes flickering back down to his cards as he threw coins into the center of the table.
“Yes, saved from my factory job down by Waterloo station.” Recalling which factory that had been, Lily bounced her brows with a shake of her head, throwing back the rest of her drink as she internally sighed. She was all for new recruits and leaving a good mark with them yet had somehow been waiting for a spark of some kind to flare. Greenie had been the only other assassin there to offer her any real company, but he was too pure; his mission set on finding the precursor artefact and allowing Lily to do all the field work. She wouldn’t have minded a little spice to her daily life.
“Well, you wanna play then, kid?” Another woman adorning green asked, looking between him and the free seat beside her. Jacob took a moment to glance between the offer and back to Lily shyly, watching as she sighed and pushed to her feet. And in that moment, he couldn’t contemplate what it was or why his brain snapped the way it had. But he felt his opportunity slipping and spoke without thinking.
“No, I’d rather buy the boss a drink.” The blurting had all movement stop. All eyes finally turned to him, most surprised and some with hidden smirks. Travis could only quietly chuckle to himself as he looked over to Lily, the woman’s interest having peaked as she stood tall, laying eyes on her Rook properly for the first time.
A spark. A bold use of words that had definitely drawn her attention. Jacob couldn’t believe what he had said, but bit back any fear and kept strong his stare. There was no taking back those words now, so why not simply own them?
Lily then chuckled, slowly making her way round the table to come before him. Watching her walk so casually had his fists ball as his cheeks began to burn. Now she stood before him, a short distance from each other as she simply tipped a grin at the man. He had her full attention, and a flare which she was willing to explore.
“I accept.”
She led them to the bar, others seeming to part for the woman as she stood side by side with Jacob. His hand ran through his hair again, lifting his hat merely to do so before returning it snuggly on his head once more. He actually had her by his side and couldn’t even think on where to begin in conversation.
“Two pints please,” Lily grabbed the bartender’s attention, turning to face her usual grin at Jacob, “on my Rook.” With a nod, their drinks were fetched as Lily slowly turned to face Jacob. Having a good look at her attire for the first time made his breath withdraw. It was a suit of armor, no doubt. Costing more than most at how intricate the patterns along her robes had been. A mix of red, dark grey, and black sewn precisely from top to bottom. Her coat covering most but seeming to accentuate her hourglass figure. A belt wrapped multiple time around her lower torso carried more than enough weapons to threaten any man.
Jacob was impressed and absolutely enamored to say the least.
“So… Jacob Frye, was it?” She teased his name on her tongue for the first time, satisfied with the quick nod that came from him. “How are you finding yourself settling into the gang?” The drinks were pushed between them, Lily watching as Jacob pulled a few coins from pocket and pushing it back across to the barkeep. The older man nodded before moving along.
“It’s thrilling,” he dryly laughed, seemed now caught up in every new aspect of his life. “I have the freedom to roam the borough. Not stress about money and putting food on the table. And,” he shrugged, straining a grin behind the mug lifted to his lips. It had Lily curious as to why he hid such an action, “I like the fights.” He had audibly quietening, as if relaying a secret he shouldn’t know. He knew it was a topic he couldn’t speak so freely about without receiving a lecture or a whack on the back of the head.
“There’s no shame in a little combat.” Lily turned, leaning onto the corner as he had had, almost mirroring him as she looked at her drink. Jacob turned to look at her, eyes openly laying to her features as she took her first sip. “Besides, you’re a Rook now. I would expect you to get into mischief every now and then.” She pointed her finger teasingly at him. “But not too much trouble, or Freddy will gut me alive!” Jacob hadn’t known who this Freddy was, but laughed along anyway as the humorous manner.
“Well, I’m glad you think so. Because,” he clutched tighter to his drink while subconsciously rubbing a hand to the back of his neck, “I wanna train. Under you.” Her eyes widened slightly at his forward motion, internally reassuring himself as he went on. “I’ve seen what you can do. What you’ve accomplished, and I want to do more.” Lily threw back her drink this time as he went on. “Being in this gang has given me a purpose to do right by the people. And now that I have the opportunity to explore this avenue, I wish to do it.”
His eagerness had been taken well; Lily unable to help her large grin at how willing her Rooks were to aid her cause.
“Your enthusiasm is delightful, Jacob. And most welcome.” She stood tall, leaning sideways on the counter as her hand perched on her hip. “I’ll tell you what. I’ll train you,” his own smile suddenly broadening as excitement shot through him. He stood straight, meeting his boss eye to eye intently as she went on, “and in exchange I’ll need you to do some running around for me when I’m not here. There is a lot of work to do, and I will no doubt need help seeing as I cannot be everywhere at once. Even though I practically am.”
The glint in his eyes at the new thrilling opportunity hadn’t gone unnoticed as Lily fed into all reactions he was giving her. There was strength, drive in this Rook, and she was happy to follow through and see how far this rabbit was willing to jump down the hole.
“If you do this for me and apply the training I give you, then I’m sure we can find more suitable tasks for you.” This was it. His leap of faith had served in his favor. “So… do we have a deal?” Her brow perked as he nodded eagerly, lifting his mug up to clink her.
“Yes we do, boss.” Lily took hold of her drink and the pair knocked them into each other before throwing back their contents. The use of her rank had only complimented her ego, Jacob feeding into it as she had personally agreed to train his growth in hand to hand combat. He always had an interest but never an opportunity nor the right mentor. But it appears that fate had something in store for him.
“Meet me here in three days, around noon I would assume. We’ll start your training then.”
Let the fun begin.
How diid they gst into this mess?
A fight lead by some conflits on opposite yakusas from the past week has lead on the kidnapping of Overhaul's most precious treasure on this earth.
You.
The event has somehow ended up being on the top of some still on construction building, one of the future largest buildings in that entire city for that manner.
He just wasn't having a good evening.
"Ah." The main leader spoke, back towards him and the three man he trusted to hekp him get you back "I see you came then Overhaul. Such an honour." He looked over his shoulder with a smug look. His own subbordinates snickering from where they were.
"Save your fucking words, it means nothing to me. I hope you had a good life befofe regretting to even mess with the Hassaikai." He growled between tedth as he prepared to slip his glove off before the man turned his front to him, shaking his index finger.
"Ah, ah, ah! No need to use that power of yours or any of tge rest of your gang, well... unless of course-!" He smirked at one bald wearing sunglasses guy who had a grin that came from one ear to another...
His arm, that was a freaking tentacle lifted up a bit, showed you, hanging by the ankle of your left leg as you squirmed in fear of falling from that place.
"(Y/n)!" He shouted, extending one hand of his before retreating when your captor treatened to drop you, make you scream at the action... Chrono and Mimic had to hold back Chisaki if they didn't want a pancake of you or Overhaul losing his shit.
"So is true?!" The leader laughed before looking between you and Kai "Overhaul has someone?! Oh what a glorious day! Wr should celebrate even, am I right boys?!" The whole group laughed as Kai gritted his teeth under his plague mask, some hives threatening to show up due to how angry and nervous he was.
"The hell you want pUNK?!" Mimic yelled as the man chucklex darkly and paced around for a bit at the top of the building they were currently at.
"Well, I do know of this new "product" of yours. Is a very well selled bullet on the underground, and I think I might even take some advanteges of it." He stopped, crossing his arms behind his back with another laugh of his, extending one of his hands, shooking one finger at Kai "You're pretty good at what you do my pal!"
"Spill it out." Overhaul growled as hos rival smirked, giving a sigmal to your captor to hold you up even higher as he made gis point very clear.
"Give me the antiquirk bullets formula and Shie Hassaikai's leadership unless you want to see your little angel crash into a pile of concrete on the floor." He widened his eyes as Mimic shriked, pointing at finger at him.
"ThE fuCK YA ThiNk yoU Are BasTARD?!"
"Overhaul, we can't." Chrono murmured as he fell his body start to tremble.
"You have thirty seconds mister boss." The man snapped hsi fingers, and the guy with a tentacle holding you hostage was starting to loose his grip on your ankle.
His eyes widened in horror as he slowly lifted his hands up enough to shown his rival he wasn't planning to use his quirk neither attack.
"Have anything. Just don't hurt my partner." He spoke through teeth with furrowed eyebrows as Chrono and mimic widened their eyes at their boss.
"No! Kai!" You shouted as the main leader laughed, as if you had spoken a hilarious joke...
He frowned at yojr words before widening even more hsi arms when you showed a hidden knife on your hip that miraculously didn't fell.
"Kai? Is that his name?! Oh so romantic. But enough with that!" He shouted witha sick look at Chisaki, who gave a silently signal for Chrono, Mimic, Rappa and Tengai to get ready to fight "With the power of the bullets and the status of the Hassaikai I can take over the whole Japan in less than two months! Ohoho! Is not even close to dinner time yet, it is indeed a beautiful day." He smirked at his companions as you gave Kai a worried yet determined look.
You snatched the knife from your hip and stabbed your captor, making him let go of you as well curse out loud in pain as you luckily held on to one of the ropes of a crane that was in front of the building.
"ATTACK!" Kai shouted as he finally used his quirk and his subbordinates did as they told.
In the middle of the fighting, the leader scoffed before smilling maniacly as he saw you getting your balance back, using his quirk of metal manipulation he was ready to make that crane kill you.
That was his intention if it wasn't for Kai coming with a heavy punch on his jaw.
"(Y/N)!" He shouted as you screamed, holding for your life at the metal bar wuth your legs swing on the air "Hold still!" He shouted before he cursed when something sharp enough cut what was holding his mask on his face and cheek, he looked up in guard to see his rival yelling and knocking him on the ground.
"You think you're powerfull HUH?! Just so FUCKING full of yourself!" He smiled sadically as he pressed further more the bar of metal on Chisaki's throat. For some odd reason he wasn't able to use to his quirk on that damn bar neither reach for the fucker. "is no use kai! WITH ME USING MY QUIRK, YOUR CONTROL OVER THIS BAR IS EQUAL TO NOTHING!" he laughed as he narrowed his eyes before managing to overpower his strenght to snatch the bar of metal put of their grasp as he choked with one hand his enemy.
"Gove me one fucking reason to let you live now your damn pest." He hissed as the guy laughed brethless, slowly lifting one of his finger up towards you
"Because I am the only one that is controlling your little plaything's life!" He said in a breathy and pysochotic tone before snapping his fingers, he widened his eyes at that and immediately looked at your direction. The crame suddenly started to move and you weren't able to hold much longer.
You looked at Chizaki with teary and desperate eyes before shouting his names as your safe bar contorned, makung you fall.
"NO!" He shouted, all of the enemies down as the time seemes to go slower. His subbordinates tried to stop them... but his body seemed to move on his own as he jumped from the building.
Extending his arms and shouting your name, he saw the look you gave him. frightened by her life and his, which in less than seconds could end in a terrible death in this fall, making a little more effort, except for one arm he managed to take her hand and pull it to his chest.
"KAI WHAT DID YOU DO ?!" you cried, gripping on his clothing while he and you were getting closer to the floor. By the speed, his mask completely loosened and leaved his face, showing you that he was also seeing death coming closer and closed by any minute or second.
Seing him moving his eyes as if he was calculating someyhing he craddled you to his chest.
"Trust me." He said suddenly.
"WE ARE CLOSE TO DYING WHY ON HELL DID YOU JUMPED ALONG?!" Your tears flew from your face as you looked at him. His golden eyes that were once wide turned back as he frowned.
"If you're going to die by me, then the least i could do is be with you my dear." You sobbed as he screatched his arm next to the parts of the building that were already done with the concrete and glasses for the windows.
Accspting your fate you just burried your face in Kai's neck as you heard him counting numbers.
One finger, he just need one damn fi ger to touch that place on less than 40 seconds-!
"39, 38, 37-!" He tried many times but he was mere inches away from touching that damn construction!
"27, 26, 25, 24, 23-!" He heard your sobbing how much you loved him, wetning all of his shirt aa he cursed between couting, franquily trying to brush one of gis fingers on the building.
"13 fUCK-!" He finally managed to brush his middle finger on the concrete, shouting a "YES!" in glory as he embraced you closer, creating some type of slide to prevent you guys from falling.
Your screams didn't vanished as he used gis quirk, he only tightened gsi grip to manage to put you two safe on the ground... and he was relieved after who knows how long finally.
You peeked and gasped at seing you were still alive and still on your boyfriend's arms as you and him tried to catch your breaths.
He cupped your cheek, making you look up at him and it shockedd you enough to see that he also had one or two tears on his terrified golden eyes.
He breathed out your name before you succumbed to relieved crying as he crushed you in a tight embrace that you most gladly retribuited becofe he pushed your face away amd kissed you.
His lips crashed on yours as it grew wet by yours or his tears. Every time you paused a bit to breath, it didn't even lasted one second before yoh two were at each other again. Chisaki claimed your mouth and needed to feel everything about you.
A shout from beneath you two made you guys finally stop and look upward to see the mans looking down worried at you both.
"ARE YOU TWO OKAY?!" Chrono shouted at the top of his lungs as you simply gave him a thumbs up, not mindfull that the man couldn't see it or not as Kai chuckled at your reaction before peppering your face and lips with mofe kisses than you ever could hope for.
"I thought I lost you dammit.." he breathed out befofe letting a soft chuckle escape his lips as he craddled you in his arms and lifted you both up, not willing to let go of you anytime soon.
"Me too." You nuzzled onto him, not willing to let go of the safety feeling only Chisaki could provide "I was so scared." You whimpered as tears threatenes to spill befofe Kai wiped them away, touching forehead with you.
"... me as well." He breathed out befofe his look turned dark. You went to question it befofe he looked up and made you crouch down on the ground as well with him "Hold onto me."
One simpel command and you took it without questions, Wrapping your arms around his neck as he slammed his palm on the ground, creating a huge plataform to make you two get up on that building.
Right on top, you let go of his neck and somehow manage to fall on his arms in bridal style as he jumped from the made up plataform to tge building.
"You fuckers still fucking alive???!!" Rappa shouted as the guys surrounded both of you as Kai slowly and gently put yoh to the ground, holding onto you in your waist still as you hugged him.
"Thank godness..." Tengai sighed in relief before all of them grabbed their guns, excluding you and Kai and Rappa, because he fight with his fists duh, as the main leader got shkly up before being beated not only by Chisaki but by the others as well.
Immediately darknening his amber eyes, he went for him before your gentle hand on his chest made him stop before yourself got to him and kicked him... on his lowest areas.
All the man hissed in pain, yes, even Kai, as the guy fell on the ground hissing on pain before Chisaki put a hand on your shoulder and looking down at the leader.
"What now...? Going to kill me?" Even beaten up, the guy still had that cocky attitude.
"No. Much worse." Chisaki growled before tje poor soul's vision saw the last Overhaul's hand blocking their view before everything turned dark.
.
.
.
You sipped on your cocoa as Kai sitted besides you with a sigh.
"Long day?"
"Experiments and all that shit." He allowed himself to curse one time, hearing you giggle besides him and letting your drink down on the coffee table to snuggle up to him.
Lifting his arm awkwardly on the air he arched one eyebrow at you as you almost purred in delight.
"Do I make a good pillow now?" He asked sarcastically before slowly lowering his arm to bring you closer despite his harsh and cold tone of voice.
"The best..." you murmured, sleep taling over you as he pondered over his plan again, seing you were distracted "Kai?"
"What?"
"Why were you willing to kill yourself along with me that day? Crazy man." You giggled as he furrowed his eyebrow, rememberihg the events as he craddled you on his arms, resting his cjin on the top of your head with a sigh.
"Because... I-" He arched one eyebrow at hearing your snore, getting a glimpse of your face befofe chuckling aoftly, brushing one strand of your hair out of your face before lowering his black casual mask to peck your lips.
"Soon, we will be on a safer and cleaner world angel... I promise you. And I will never let go of you, my dear. Ever."
I just finished watching the last season of the Clone Wars and I have some things to say about it. Mainly me gushing abt how Anakin and Ahsoka's relationship was done but be warned: spoilers ahead, so go away if you don't want those (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧
I will preface this by mentioning that I am one of many siblings, with multiple younger and older siblings, so I have some sense of what it feels like to be the older sib and the younger one.
First thing that i went hecc yeah at was when Ahsoka called Anakin her older brother in I think s7e5, Gone with a Trace. Looking at how they are there for one another and especially how f i e r c e l y Anakin defends Ahsoka during the last arc of season 5, there is no other word that could describe their closeness. That intense, roaring platonic love they hold for one another is utterly undeniable.
My biggest talking point is s7e9, Old Friends Not Forgotten. This is the episode we've all been waiting for where Anakin and Ahsoka finally meet up. The sheer joy and amazement at seeing Ahsoka again renders Anakin speechless. There is so much he wants to ask, so much he wants to know, so much he knows he's missed. Most of all? He's missed her. Her company, her wit, being able to see her every day and just have her around. The security that came with her presence and that friendship was lost when she left the Jedi order, but now that she's come to him? There's nothing more he wants to do than to assure her happiness and her security.
Ahsoka comes to the ship, and due to the circumstances, Anakin cannot truly talk to her for a short while. Once business is out of the way, however, Anakin pulls out all the stops because Ahsoka is his little sister and there is nothing he won't do for her. A similar level of comraderie could be extended to Captain Rex and the men of the 501st—just look at their helmets, for crying out loud. Think about how much time and care was put into painting all their helmets in Ahsoka's honor to celebrate the return of the life of their crew.
Anakin, though. His little sister's come back. He's been holding onto her lightsabers and he can hardly wait to give them to her, to see the look on her face when she gets them. While I was watching the episode, I half expected that Anakin would have to give Ahsoka the case with the lightsabers and run off, but I was so happy when he took the time to present them in person. Not only does he arm her, he ensures that the reason she came to him and Obi-Wan does not go dismissed. Anakin bends the rules to help her in such a way that she won't be held responsible, should anything go wrong.
Anakin gives Ahsoka Captain Rex.
This cannot be understated. Rex is Anakin's closest friend, second only to Obi-Wan (he's married to Padme so she doesn't quite count, and feck Palpatine, honestly). All matters of friendship aside, Rex is one of the most skilled clone troopers in the Republic Army. He's the leader of Anakin's troops for a reason, so with an impending battle, Anakin should in theory have his Captain with him. Instead, he sends Rex with Ahsoka.
Only with Rex can Ahsoka legally operate as commander, though it's Rex who holds the rank. Anakin cares so much about Ahsoka that he's willing to give her his best friend and captain of his troops. (It is worth noting that Rex and Ahsoka are very close as well, and another reason Rex went with Ahsoka was to give them more time to catch up, but that's for another rant.)
Another point for the powerful sibling bond between the two: Anakin does all this without a second thought. btw
Now, look at the events of the next few episodes, largely focusing on Ahsoka's response to Maul's prophecies and visions. When she first hears about him wanting Anakin, one of her main concerns is making sure her older brother is alright. Someone is plotting and Anakin could get caught in it so she needs to know that he's okay, that nothing's happened to him. Time and time again she asks after him, wanting to speak with him. While I know narratively Ahsoka cannot interfere because we know Darth Vader, it still hurts every time she tries to talk with him and either can't reach him or just barely misses him.
In the final episode, Maul shows Ahsoka what Anakin will do and is doing, the darkness he will fall into, and it shakes her. The majority of the episode is based around the execution of Order 66, so we don't get to see much of Ahsoka ans Anakin's relationship manifest itself until the very end.
I kid you not, I sat reeling after the episode ended. Holy. Feck.
Ahsoka and Rex, after burying the clones who died in the crash, look out at the makeshift graveyard, and Ahsoka holds one of her lightsabers, the shorter of the two that Anakin gifted to her, loosely in her hands. It teeters forward, the balance lost, but Ahsoka holds it on the edge of her fingers for the briefest of moments before letting it fall to the ground, and she leaves. Maul showed her what mistakes Anakin would commit, and that s h a t t e r e d her faith in Anakin. This second lightsaber Anakin gave her, she can't hold onto. For lack of a better phrasing, it's too painful.
From a different perspective, Ahsoka might not know the full extent of what Anakin will become. Perhaps she assumes that Anakin died with the execution of Order 66 and leaves the lightsaber at the graveyard in memory of him. He was her brother, after all, and she'd want to do something to honor his memory.
The next scene shows us what looks like Hoth, a vast area ridden by a blizzard, snow billowing across the field. Darth Vader crosses the snow to stop before a crashed Imperial warship, an orange trooper helmet in the snow. The distinctive pattern of the helmet make it unmistakable: this was the warship Ahsoka was on when Order 66 was given. Leaning down, Vader brushes aside snow to dig out a lightsaber. Turning it on, he stares at it.
This. This was Ahsoka's lightsaber. Is she dead? Did she survive? He has no way of knowing. Anakin has lost his wife, his limbs, his brother—everything he held dear, and now, he has lost his precious little sister as well. She's gone, whether escaped across the galaxy or buried somewhere beneath the snowdrifts. With resignation and sorrow, There is no turning back now, he supposes, turning to the sky as if she'd be there sitting in a starship. Everything Anakin Skywalker had is gone. Only Darth Vader remains. He turns off the lightsaber, and walks away, leaving a damaged clone helmet, the front of it painted orange and white in the image of someone Vader no longer knows, behind him in the cold, unforgiving snow.
Poe x GN!Reader + “This is real life, okay? Not an episode of Scooby Doo.”
The mystery had been plaguing the base on D’Qar for weeks now, nobody necessarily knowing what to make of it. Who kept painting murals on the outside wall of the hangar bay? Everyone knew it wasn't a serious threat, probably just somebody trying to lighten everybody’s spirits; especially with everyone being so on edge lately, having no idea if or when the First Order was going to attack. But it was eating you alive, not knowing who did it and how they did it so...well.
You found yourself among a few fellow pilots and resistance fighters, eating your dinner rations and discussing this artistic addition to the base. “I am just blown away at how they can change it everyday and make it look amazing every time!” Your eyes sparkled, truly fascinated with it. Whoever was behind this had a very keen eye, painting different squadrons and all their members standing heroically, different landscapes of planets, they even drew a giant portrait of General Organa herself, surrounded by beautiful flowers that were native to Alderaan. Again, a very keen eye, this artist had.
“They probably trace them,” Jessika spoke with a mouthful of food, “no way somebody can pull that outta their ass every day. Plus, how can they not be seen by anybody?”
“Maybe it’s a g-g-ghoooost!” Snap teased Jess, imitating his voice to sound chilling, like one of those cheesy holodramas boys would take girls to so they could ‘protect’ them from the fake phantoms. This earned him an elbow to the side, an unamused Jess scowling at her squad partner. “Shut up, weirdo.”
Among the banter and sleuthing, one pilot seemed to be more quiet than usual, Poe flicked his eyes from speaker to speaker, silently observing while eating his ration bar. L’ulo noticed the out of character behavior, Poe always has something to say. “What’s up, Poe? Snap really spook you that bad?”
The leader of the squadron found his eyes and smiled, finding the teasing to be amusing. “Nah. Just surprised that Karé married him after listening to...that.” Snap giggled boisterously and his fingers found Karé’s sides, tickling her and smushing his bearded cheek against her smooth one, “Aww come on, she can't get enough of me.” Everybody at the table laughing at how Karé pleaded with you to save her from the ‘hairy monster’. After the chuckles died down, you placed your hands on the table in front of you, as if you were presenting a battle plan to take out an entire fleet of tie fighters. “I say we all keep watch tonight, take rotations. I need to know who’s doing this.” The gleam in your eye died when Poe rolled his eyes at your response, “This is real life okay?” turning to face you, his knee bumping against your thigh, “not an episode of Scooby Doo.”
“Come ooon, Poe! Don’t you want to celebrate whoever is bringing so much life to the base? Don’t act like I didn't catch you staring at it the other day.” You matched his body language, hand pushing off his shoulder to tease him. This was received with a chuckle, Poe swatting at your shoulder as well, mimicking your tone. “Okay smarty pants,” his eyes wielding a childlike glimmer, “first one who finds this mystery artist get’s everybody’s dessert for a week.”
You smiled at Poe. “You’re on.”
~
That night, Snap and Karé took the first watch. Ending their shift with no new findings, causing to Jess practically vibrate with excitement. If people thought Poe was competitive, they obviously had never met Jess, she was so competitive it became annoying sometimes. But much to her dismay, Jess also reported no new leads. “Not even as much as a stupid Squonk flew by!” She retired to her quarters afterward, discouraged and sleepy.
Your turn was next. Perched on one of D’Qar’s rolling hills with binoculars and some caf to keep you awake, you heard some shuffling from foliage to your left, right hand unlocking your blaster holster in case you needed to defend yourself from hostile wildlife, or even worse, a First Order spy. Your breath ceased with anticipation, but was gladly released from your chest when you were met with the sight of Poe. A warm chuckle came from your friend when he saw your hand ready to fire. “And they say I’m trigger happy. Easy, y/n, it’s just me.” He took a spot next to you, crossing his legs in front of him. “Any breakthroughs?” His eyes not leaving the stars above. It was clear and beautiful out tonight. You glanced at his profile, smiling to yourself, and looked up as well. “Nope. Guess it was stupid, huh?” Poe turned his head to you, making eye contact but quickly breaking it. “No, i--it’s,” more uncharacteristic silence, what in the stars was with him today? “Sweet. You’re so curious.”
This granted him a smile, “Heh. Thanks, Dameron.” you breathed in the warm air, “So, who do you think it is?”
“Hmm. Well, if I told you, you have to promise to keep it a secret.” His lips quickly turned up into a smile at your unabashed gasp, “What?! How do you know? Tell me, tell me!”
“Alright, alright! Jeez, how can you have this much energy at two in the morning?” This question was left unanswered by you, your big eyes looking at him so remarkably as he reached in the front pocket of his bottoms, pulling out a piece of paper that was folded a few times, creasing the smooth planes of it. He stuck it out to you, watching as you snatched it from his hand and unraveled it like a young child opening their life day gift. Another gasp left your mouth, but this time Poe didn't smile at it, his stomach was churning, afraid that he might seem like a creep for what you were about to discover.
“It’s...me.”
You looked up at his face, hands still clutching the sketch of you, standing in front of your X-Wing with your helmet on your hip and looking very triumphant. His hand farthest from you found the nape of his neck, awkwardly scratching while he whispered, “This was supposed to be the next one. The one I did tonight.”
You were, for lack of a better term, absolutely floored. A million questions were swimming through your brain but you were just left to stare at the pilot next to you, your mouth wordlessly moving. “Kriff, y/n, I’m sorry. If you don’t want me to do it I-I can do something else! It’s just, remember the day when you got your own X-Wing? You looked so happy an-” Poe was cut off by a bone-crushing hug around his middle, your head landing on his shoulder as you squeezed, making his heart pound so hard in his chest he thought he might die. “Poe, it’s amazing!” You lifted your head to face him, “I didn't know you were so artistic! How long have you been keeping this a secret? How have you not been caught?!” Your hands were flying around every which way while you rambled and he gave you a dumbfounded grin, astonished at how cute you were, although he would never admit it out loud. “There’s a lot you don't know about me, sweetheart.”
