I give you three Aeons. The other two were never confirmed to be Aeon but just shut up and let me have this!!! *sob*
I always felt like the Lost Soul was a variant of Aeon in the Castlevania Lords of Shadow/Mirror of Fate timeline! The colors! The striped arms he had! The whole "ensuring fate" thing which could connect to time! There's a connection!!!!
I don't really see much or any fanart of the Lost Soul or Eon Bernades! So they definitely deserved some attention and love :D
Eon Bernades is from Castlevania Seal of the Curse!

Romantic relationship headcanons for Dracula, Hector, Issac, Alucard, and Trevor?
Castlevania Boys Romantic Headcanons
Dracula
Once his defenses are down, he’s a very romantic man.
Despite his eons of life, he still believes in love, and true love, and expressing that to those that matter.
Even if it’s few & far between on being able to find it.
Since his time is endless, and theirs possibly short, he wants to spend as much of it as he can with them.
Going on walks, picnics, or just being together in comfortable silence while they read or relax by the fire.
He is also a very passionate man. So make sure your evenings are free for him.
Hector
Aww bless him. He tries.
Which is probably his biggest flaw. He tries too hard.
Hector is a classic over thinker, in the sense that he thinks on ever scenario and plans it out. Thinking this will create a perfect plan with now flaws, except he forgets that people are flawed.
Inevitably this usually ends in failure, but still a sweet gesture that is appreciated.
His gifts are usually very thought out, but also miss the mark. Like one time you said you liked green, and Hector remember this and gave you an emerald ring he pulled off one of his night creature carcasses.
At least your pets will live forward though.
Alucard
Although jaded by life, Alucard is actually still an incredibly sweet and charming man.
Though he tries to keep his heart safe and locked away, he does still keep it on his sleeve. And once he’s warmed up to you, will gladly give it.
Words often escape him, as he’s worried about saying the wrong thing. So his romantic gestures are usually in, well, gestures.
Finding a book he thinks you will like. Coming across some manner of poetry and leaving it on your nightstand. Collecting wildflowers when he goes out to hunt or fish for supper.
Trevor
More swagger than romance, but he’s getting there.
Trevor always says the right things. Good on compliments. Great on telling you how beautiful you are.
Terrible at remembering dates or plans though. So don’t expect him to remember anniversaries, or show up to dinners on time if you have a special one planned without reminding him 18 times.
It’s not that he doesn’t care. It’s just that his brain doesn’t work that way. More in the moment than a future plans kind of person.
He longs to be close to you, always. Not necessarily in a sexual way (though that is a lot) but just beside you, next to you, curled up by your side.

Story in the Castlevania Games
Buckle up this is a long one!
I understand that there is often a divide about which of the Castlevania game types are better (Classicvanias, Metroidvanias, and the 3Ds) but I think this is kind of shallow because they each offer a different perspective of style.
Personally I love the Igarashi era because the first game I 100% completed was Symphony of the Night (I started with Super Castlevania on a SNES). I also connect with the style because I’m a terrible gamer and you can easily scrape through those (yes I went as mist throughout a lot of the inverted castle don’t @ me) as opposed to the classicvanias which make you pay for it (I like the tough concept and the reward, but I can’t tell you how many times I have screamed about falling off stairs). I haven't had a chance to play the 3Ds yet, but I have watched the Curse of Darkness cutscenes in 4K numerous times!
My own preferences aside, we all know that despite gameplay, every Castlevania game (the ones that follow the timeline, bc idk anything about the Lord of Shadows series) have the same simple plot with the sole purpose in defeating Dracula. And I sometimes see in the gaming community that their simplicity of plot is marked off as terrible and shallow. In a surface level view this can be true if you just play games to play games. But in regards to Ernest Hemingway’s Iceberg Theory that “emphasizes the idea that a writer should only reveal a small portion of the story, with the bulk of the meaning and emotion implied or hinted at”, the Castlevania games explore such deep concepts of love, human struggle, identity, gender roles, sexuality, good vs. evil, religion, and other philosophies.
By having the same basic objective, the writers are able to explore the different avenues in going about the completion of the task of defeating Dracula and point to the ideas of what it means to be human. Some examples under the cut:
Symphony of the Night has the debate of how evil and even good can have radical ideology evident with Dracula obviously, but also in Richter who got so consumed with being the force of good he was manipulated by darkness. Thus Alucard, who is a product of both good and evil is the only one who can reinstate this balance and leave behind the quote from the Sega Saturn version, “However, you must never forget this: the one with the power to destroy this world is not him... Humans themselves possess this power.” The dialogue is actually good and complex in this game when you compare the different versions.
CVIII: Dracula’s Curse is argued to have one of the hardest gameplays (outside of the original Japanese version) and couldn’t this have an impact on the fact Trevor Belmont and the gang are the first ones to take down Dracula? It had to have been hard for them to achieve such a feat! Also the different motives for all of the playable characters. Trevor and his family’s fealty to fighting the night and who was once Mathias Cronqvist. Grant Danasty who seeks revenge for getting temporarily turned into a monster and fights for his country’s safety. Alucard who wants to stop his father from tormenting humans. And Syfa Belnades who was a female magic user for the church in a time where that mysticism could be deadly, but was necessary to preserve humanity. I think Syfa is interesting in terms of hiding versus showing true identity (something Yoko Belnades eons later talks about).
Curse of Darkness. Y’all this might be the most complete and obviously complex story (supplement material aside) that they have ever produced, yet it’s the one that’s the most sidelined. And for what?? Hector is an outstanding foil to Dracula even to the point of the goal is to use him as a vessel to resurrect Dracula. Like that is so interesting!! Even Isaac and Julia have great characterizations. If you want more stuff about this game, check out @beevean they have great content.
My second favorite game, Aria of Sorrow explores how Soma is actually a reincarnation of Dracula and it’s a battle of the self, temptation, and his love for Mina that can defeat the evil within. Also Alucard’s change in terms of approaching the situation of defeating his father under the guise of Arikado Genya. Now that’s a can of worms right there.
Order of Ecclesia and the discourse of cults, Harmony of Dissonance regarding how the Belmonts are just as cursed as Dracula, friendship and more in CV: Bloodlines, Simon Belmont’s battle with outward and internal strength, Lament of Innocence and how the women are fridged for both good and evil, the list can go on.
Now I won’t say that every single Castlevania game achieves this well, most things are left to speculation and interpretation like deeper information of what happens between games and what the Belmont lineage canonically looks like. But the fact you can draw these intense and deep messages from pixels and gameplay is incredible!
What may be my biggest frustration with Konami sidelining the Castlevania series is the potential of a complex story within a well-thought out gameplay and style. Grimoire of Souls may have failed with repetition and it being a gacha game, but the story was interesting because they explored what it looks like with the characters from different games comparing and contrasting themes. It shows that there are people in the writing room who still care about the games because of the story. But money seems to be the problem for Konami which is stupid because they would make bank with this game franchise imo
Anyways my real point here is that taking a minimalistic approach to the story-telling within a game isn’t a bad thing because there’s always going to be deeper meanings. Perhaps this is why I myself gravitate so much towards this series. For me it’s not always about how good I can get through a level or boss fight, but the subject of what speaks to the human soul.
TL;DR: don’t get hung up on what gameplay is better, pay attention to the fact that all the games share a simple plot in order to explore complex themes of humanity, saying that less is more.
#i’m a gamer but I’m actually a literary gamer lmao#sorry for the beefiness of this#now I will undoubtedly have to do some deeper analysis into some of these games I briefly mentioned#I love all the Castlevania games bc the rest of the story iceberg is a drug for an english major#a lot of other video games use the iceberg theory#i think it’s rising in popularity#the real reason I thought of this was an irl argument I had with a gamer who just likes gameplay#i think we should like both because they can connect to form a more compelling narrative#like ffvii killing aerith#but that’s just me#akumajou dracula#konami#iceberg theory#glorfy rambles

Hi, hope you're doing well. I'm creating planet ocs, and I kinda have a problem with one of them : venus.
So a theme I wanted for all of them is for them all to have some changes in their body (body patterns, wings, etc) because it's important to their story. but I haven't really gotten good ideas for what to give venus. And I'm also worried if whatever I give her will just make her design look more complicated. For help, she has love based powers ( hence the hearts) and she can create poisonous gas (hence the clouds on her skirt)
Also bonus question: is her design animation friendly?
Nice! You might try researching how the planet Venus has changed over the eons to give yourself some hints for how the character might change. Also, it would probably help to figure out what her arc in the story looks like. What's the lie she's telling herself, and how will she see past that lie? What does she need to learn, and how will learning it help her grow and change as a person? Once you know the inner change, you can reflect it in the outer change. And yeah, if you add things to a design, it's only natural it will grow more complicated (though not necessarily in an unmanageable way). But what if her transformation subtracted from her form instead? What if, in casting off the trappings of who she thought she was, Venus becomes who she was always destined to be?
(Just spitballing, obviously; it might not be right for the tone of the story, but it's something to think about.)
To be honest, because the color of the hearts is vibrating so much against that orange, I couldn't read them as hearts at first. I thought they were just circular spots. And because the hearts are so saturated, if we look at the image in grayscale, they disappear completely.
If the hearts had more value contrast against the orange, they'd stand out more clearly. When one color is indiscernible from another in grayscale, that's how you know one of them needs to change.
It's also worth considering if the heart shape that's so ubiquitous with earthlings would mean the same thing to someone whose theme is based on another planet. Are hearts a common symbol of love in her culture? Might she represent love with something else? If she'd keep the hearts, though, you might make them more present in the actual form of her skirt rather than just markings on it, so they have some sort of impact on the silhouette.
It might also help if her eyes were spaced farther apart for visual clarity. They kind of blend together when viewed from a distance.
Went ahead and tightened up the overall anatomy a bit as well (especially in the shoulders), just for a touch more naturalism and believability. (Also note that knowing a character's basic forms will help immensely in animating them.)
In terms of animation, I'm realizing that when people ask me if a character design is animation-friendly, the most direct yet all-encompassing way to answer that is with another question.
"Would you animate it?"
If the answer is no, the design needs to be streamlined, because it wouldn't be fair to give yourself (or others, if it comes to that) an unnecessarily laborious task. Animation's already a ton of work on its own without overly-complex designs making it more difficult, though of course the level of detail will also depend on the budget, deadlines, and the story's tone. I mentioned in another post that the Castlevania series had some pretty detailed characters, BUT the team cleverly compensated for that by using limited animation the majority of the time, only pulling out the big guns during the action scenes. So there are a lot of variables involved, but ultimately I think the first question to ask yourself is if you would be okay animating this character.
Hope that helps!

alucard for tbe ask meme
How I feel about this character: ALUCARD!!! One of (though surprisingly NOT my ultimate) favorite Castlevania characters ever... This is the guy who got me into Castlevania, because I saw blond long hair guy in all black in the heights of my fe4 special interest and went "ooo, like Ares fe4?" and then I spent like 3 years on and off pestering Eon to watch SOTN with me and um. Well now we're here. Also he is sexy. Sorry for liking men <-not sorry
All the people I ship romantically with this character: RICHTERCARD ULTIMATE!! I am admittedly completely biased in this because of how and why I got into castlevania to begin with, but they are sooo. Foils, so perfectly suited in the narrative, their journeys and their recoveries feel like they can be tied together so perfectly. also I do like to think about him having Feelings about Trevor(+Sypha) that he literally just never brings up and goes to sleep without talking about. Just because I think it is an interesting narrative.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: god but there's so many. For a guy who seems to try his very best to self isolate Alucard has so many interesting relationships with people, possibly genuinely the most of any Castlevania character? the cv3 crew, Maria, Soma, Julius, Mina, Yoko... I feel like I'm especially invested in his relationship with Soma just because it's so interesting, with Maria because she's one of my favorite characters, and with Trevor and Sypha especially out of the cv3 crew because I did watch the first two seasons of the show and so unfortunately I am sorry to poor Grant but I have more thoughts on them and their relationships as a result.
My unpopular opinion about this character: uhhh uhhhhhh. there's plenty of takes out there that I disagree with I think but I don't want to do them in a Fun, "Short" Tumblr Post. If I talk about my problems with the show and some of the things branching off that I'll be here all day. I guess, in the more specifically games focused circles... I think Alucard and Trevor can have a deep and mutual respect for each other. AND also awaken in each other fratboy sensibilities of swearing and trying to drown each other in Las Vegas pools. I don't think these things are mutually exclusive. I need Alucard to be telling people about how important Trevor is to him and how Trevor understood him when he felt no one else would and never looked down on him for his parentage. And then Trevor comes in like OY! FUCKER! And Alucard immediately turns around and races over to try and wrassle him. I just think it's funny.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: uhhhh idk. I think he has a relatively complete arc, and post sotn domesticity arc with Richter is too much to ask for in CANON.
I guess I kind of want to know his thoughts about the whole Soma thing, before actually encountering Soma himself. like, he already has complicated dad feelings, and while most of those could never translate to Soma himself, I imagine he still has a lot of complicated and unresolved feelings!! And for a guy whose original plan seemed to be "awaken Dark Lord; kill him" he just Bonds to Soma SO fast to a point where Yoko is able to be like "oh yeah that guy cares about you" long before Soma actually gets to the throne room, after barely interacting with Arikado at all. I want to explore Arikado having what I can best describe as a Never Love an Anchor by The Crane Wives emotion about Soma. I want him to be experiencing a broiling uncertain ocean of emotion about Soma's existence that Soma just cuts through with a knife without ever even realizing he's done it.
#prince talks#asks#iztopher#sorry to the n*tflixvania haters following me that this ask is very revealing of what influences the show had on me#in my early days of getting into castlevania#that are now inescapable to me no matter what my feelings are on. anything past season 2

i haven’t done one of these in eons so thank you so much for tagging me babe 🥹🌟🩵✨🫧 very excited to do this but it also took me literally an hour and a half to decide and cause i couldn’t even remember who i talked about last year….there were a lot i just completely blanked. and then if we went by fandom omg we’d be here all night so here we are :3
yes i cheated and finessed bc im indecisive ;3 i wish i could have added others i seldom talk about but alas.
sasuke uchiha, y’all already KNEW good and well that this man was gonna be on the list. he’s a nonnegotiable. i’ll probably never stop talking about him, i hold him very close. i wish i could have added the rest of his clansmen tho ;(
suguru getou, i increasingly became obsessed w him in late ‘22 but it reached an all time high last year. oh my goodness i kinda resonate with him in a way and gives me comfort y’know? i feel terribly guilty i chose him over satoru cause i had crippling obsession with him once upon a time.
toji fushiguro, ive always thought he was really cool and really hot obvi but after revisiting the manga last year (before gege ruined that) in addition to s2 premiere i really looked deeper into his character and the poor deadbeat dad jokes and what he had been through and started to appreciate and sympathize with him more than just big pecs and a nonexistent waist
alucard (hellsing), OH MY GOSHHHHHHH THE FIXATION I HAVE FOR THIS MAN was all consuming like. for weeks my pinterest fed me nothing but this man. randomly decided to revisit the original hellsing only to have my brain rewired and think only about him for months. what a time.
dio, i think my current url and the tag i use to reblog things tells you all you need to know. love him loads and loads :3 i was torn between adding him or jotaro………
sousuke aizen, y’know what i always say (since like last year or 2 years ago) i LOVE having a bleach brain rot 😋 ive always been attracted to this man and i just love the fact he’s shrouded in mystery and am fascinated by him in general. i read a fic that really opened my eyes to his character and broke down some panels in the manga i glossed over and well…..
kento nanami, oh dear………HESJWJWJE DO YALL REMEMBER THOSE ICONIC FEW WEEKS ALL I WOULD POST ABOUT WAS NANAMIN😭😭😭😭 that one episode changed my life. like i said ive always loved him but i have had an epiphany. im in love with him. sonami supremacy 🥰
ichigo kurosaki, my back arches a lil whenever i say his name 😩 i’ll never forget the mootie who paired me with him in an appearance/personality matchup like that altered my brain chemistry. he’s so cute and sooo green flag coded he’s the bestest boyfie husband ever
byakuya kuchiki, again the bleach brain rot never ends. do i have to elaborate on mr. kuchiki ? i think he speaks for himself (i need him to breed me)☺️☺️☺️
trevor belmont + alucard (castlevania), nocturne releasing last september reminded me why i adore castlevania so much like the storytelling and the characters— especially these two— are so compelling and it reignited my obsession with them i rewatched the entire show from the beginning…..for a 4th (or 5th????) time.
no pressure (#) — @hellavile @marimogf @renjisinterlude @6gumi @antizenin @blkjupiters @tvgals @valentineluvu @mysugu & anyone else that wants to participate is welcome !!!!!
putting this in its own post bc long -

I guess I should have a WIPs post if I'm going to be tagging things
Or an intro or whatever idk, so.
I'm [unpronouncable sounds that equivocate in English to "Keening Void"], I'm a 30 yo crazy person who works at Coffee Shop Chain in the US. I came back to tungle dot hell just as a way to get away from my other social media presences but I slipped into writeblr territory and I'm gonna stay here, y'all are lovely.
Anywho I [think very hard about] writing things. Here are some of the things:
Original Works
Laughing Into the Darkness is an urban fantasy / supernatural romance about a biroace goth not-quite-boy (Adrian) who falls in love with the prince of Hell (Karavox aka Kenney).
Encroaching Lacuna is a (technically furry) space fantasy / light sci-fi superpowers drama about twins, Taliander and Orian, who get kidnapped from their home planet by an imperial war machine.
Urasdia is an epic high fantasy drama that can't figure out if it wants to be a revenge story or a revolution story. Prince Damian of Vemba, his ex Trinh, and his brothers Viktor and Adrien are major characters.
Salvation is a queer cyberpunk story about unexpected allies. Chaz, a nonbinary cyborg sex worker, has saved up enough to get a bigger apartment - with a stranger for a roommate. But Kevin's pretty quiet, and not a bad roommate... He might be a corpo contract killer, though.
Skyward Force is a video game idea I'm tossing around. It's a Shining Force like turn based tactical RPG about time and immortality.
I have a nameless collection of drabbles and concepts surrounding a fursona of mine, Tara; she's a catgirl sex worker & bartender who lives with her werewolf friend Cormac, who she's in love with. Pretty much anything NSFW I write is probably gonna be in Tara's world, and pretty much anything I write in Tara's world is gonna be NSFW.
I also think about drabbling stuff about my tabletop rpg characters: Mitchell, the tiefling warlock; Djarra, the halfling werebear druid; and Torra, the heretic Mechanicus enginseer.
Fanfiction
I don't have a published fanfic presence but I am working on a few things in the Netflix Castlevania, Magnus Archives, and Warhammer 40k fandoms, so I might talk about those from time to time. If I ever actually work on them. You know.
Other Fandoms
These are stuff I'm into but don't necessarily have planned works for.
Books:
Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archives (I'm not okay, please write quickly Mister Brandon)
Richard Kadrey's Sandman Slim series
Rodger Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber (fun fact: Urasdia started out as an Amber fanvessel eons ago)
Tolkien's works, of course
Stephen King's Dark Tower books
probably more! I got bad brains
Movies & TV:
Our Flag Means Death
What We Do in the Shadows (both)
Vikings
JJBA
Archer
Cobra Kai
definitely more but again, the bad brains
Other Media Types:
I'm pretty into Magic the Gathering and goth & metal music and sometimes that stuff has story pieces to play with so :) maybe one day.
Probably going to update this later with appropriate tags and anything else that changes. <3
Socializing with my weird ass:
I'm not very good at socializing beyond either pleasantries or infodumping tbh (it's the autismos) but I do like people and I do like what you're working on!
I'm explicitly avoiding Reality here so please don't try to talk to me about politics, current events, etc. - they upset me too much and I have other avenues for dealing with all that. This space, for me, is just about fiction! (I have already broken this for myself but shh we'll just move on.)
Please avoid asking me how I'm doing, if you can. The answer, though impolite, is "bad, but there's nothing much anybody can do about it, so let's not talk about it". I don't want to make anyone feel bad for me, but I also don't want to lie. Better to just avoid the situation altogether.
I'm not great at responding to tag games or the like; on top of the autism, I got them anxiety and overthinkin' problems, ya dig? I also don't have a lot of words actually drafted for any of my WIPs yet [or, don't have a lot that I still have saved, for some] so games like word finds or last lines etc. are really hard haha. I might be better about this in the future.

PREDICTIONS FOR CASTLEVANIA ENDING
Castlevania is a really depressing show, which is also going to share a universe with other shows (Devil May Cry), so prepare for some depressing and outlandish thoughts here.
Issac is the one who defeats Styria and some of Camilla’s council but something causes him to spare Hector, perhaps out of sympathy for his servitude. I know Issac is bloodthirsty, but I think it works thematically if his character has a moment of empathy for Hector without necessarily making him a good guy.
Issac and the Styria forces both have a deadly stalemate where both sides just die but both are no longer threat to the world.
Like the trailer showed that there are still attempts to resurrect Dracula. That plan either doesn’t come through, or when it does, it’s a different version of a rage-filled Dracula from a different dimension for future series.
Morana and Striga die by Issac’s forces in each other’s arms, happy with each other’s company.
Or Morana and Striga evade Issac’s forces and decide to just... live.
Sypha is pregnant.
Sypha really wants to keep the child because they conceived the child in Lindenfeld and they just want something good to come out of Lindenfeld.
Or she may decide on doing a self-induced abortion so they can focus on their monster-slaying work and they’re too pessimistic.
She miscarries during battle. She becomes convinced that having a child just to have something good come out of trauma perhaps is wrong.
She and Trevor do conceive a healthy pregnancy AFTER they fulfill major duties to secure the world.
Trevor dies, whether or not he knows of Sypha’s pregnancy.
Sypha may have to raise the child without Trevor. And she can only let the child learn from Belmont books and practice with Trevor’s whips to learn their father’s skills.
Sypha may rejoin her Speaker caravan in order to give birth to her child among people with midwife knowledge. She and her child live a Speaker life for years before she takes the child to the Belmont library so they can learn about their Belmont heritage.
Sypha gives birth to a Simon Belmont, like in one iteration of the video games.
Or Sypha gives birth to a Sonia Belmont, as a nod to a retconned-out Belmont in the video games.
Sypha and Trevor may go into hiding, away from all the monster-fighting bullshit to raise their child in seclusion. They may get their chance to visit Alucard.
Sypha and Trevor join Sypha’s Speaker caravan to prepare for the birth and they live their lives among the Speakers because they want their child to have a Speaker education, and then later give their child a Belmont education at the Belmont hold.
Sypha and Trevor rejoin Alucard at the castle, perhaps so he can help Sypha give birth. All three raise the child.
Sypha is not pregnant, but if Trevor lives, the epilogue shows her pregnant with their child.
Sypha tells Trevor that if they survive this last battle, with Death or Styria, she wants Trevor to put a baby in her so they can just live a life after all this bullshit. He agrees to it. After surviving a battle, they rip off each other’s clothes and make a baby on the battlefield.
Trevor and Sypha die, but they tell people about the Belmont library and castle. The people who study the books are the ones who become the next Belmonts.
Trevor and Sypha may have to fight an unstable Alucard, who’s in danger of becoming the next Dracula.
Though healing does happen and it’s resolved. Trevor and Sypha are pretty understanding why Alucard staked those two souls.
Or, Trevor and Sypha are forced into a situation to defeat him and perhaps place him in his coffin so he could possibly rest and regain his mental health. But his rest takes eons than expected.
Trevor and Sypha, feeling responsible, try to stay around Alucard’s coffin at the castle, hoping that he’ll wake up. He doesn’t. Trevor and Sypha start a family and rebuild the Belmont hold and they tell stories to their children and remind them constantly that if Alucard wakes up, welcome him as a family friend. They even have their children pay respects to the coffin.
Trevor and Sypha adopt a stray child that becomes a Belmont. Because, found family.
Sadly, Trevor and Sypha never get their reunion with Alucard. Either because they die or life takes them elsewhere.
Trevor and Sypha get lost in the Infinite Corridor somehow.
Alucard gets so depressed and destructive he concludes its time to sleep again.
Alucard gets so badly wounded that he has to slip into coffin rest for a century. Thus, his long slumber carries him toward other eras for other series. Beyond Castlevania, he will awaken to find and guide a Belmont descendant.
Saint Germain (and perhaps his yet-to-be-seen lover, Maria Renard?) basically is just busy with adventures for spin-offs or sequels.
WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN? WHAT DO YOU WANT TO HAPPEN?

She wanted knowledge, so she sought knowledge from the one who had been there when history was not history but the present day.
On the edge of a certain township, nestled in the range of certain mountains streaked with volcanic glass and obsidian, there was a manor. No one ever came to it and no one ever left it but every night torches would be lit and there would be a gentle candlelight glow coming from the inside of it and it had been like that, unchanging but steady in rhythm, for centuries.
It was ill advised to make the pilgrimage but one Tenjoin Asuka, with that unquenchable desire to learn and learn, she went against such warnings and ascended along the path. And when she arrived, she would have been that manor’s first visitor in many, many years. Eons, even. But the manor was just as it was rumoured. Black and dark with crystal-eyed gargoyles watching the front door but she was unafraid.
With the back of her hands, she rapped on the front door, “Hello?” she sang out. “Is anybody home?”
Her eyes darted up and about. She saw that there was light inside the manor. It wasn’t blindingly so, given how gargantuan this place was, but they were there. It was homely. Asuka’s eyes searched the door again and she felt foolish but she noticed the bronze doorknocker - a horrible faced boar - and reached for it. It was situated a good head or so taller than her so she had to get up on her tiptoes. And just as her fingertips grazed the smooth ring of its plaque, the door opened. Swinging wards and she gave a startled noise.
From inside the doorway, she heard a demure chuckle. She blushed.
Asuka saw the most beautiful woman she had ever seen in the doorway. Rather taller than her; voluptuous and wearing only the thinnest clothes on such a cold night that had just pressed past a frigid twilight. Her eyes were sharp and her lips were sharper as she studied the most unlikely guest whom she had.
Asuka was starstruck as she tried to muster herself to speech. Her sudden shyness amused the woman but somehow, she bustled through her own social impediment.
“I desire what you have. Your library, I hear, is the stuff of legends. I want to enrich myself on those tomes and I will not be taking no for an answer.” Asuka said.
The woman’s grin grew wider.
“My name is Asuka and to whom do I owe the pleasure?”
“Camula.” she replied. “Thy name is Camula and I am impressed with ye, come in, come in.”
Asuka was mutably pleased with herself as she was invited inside. And the inside of this manor was just as grand as the outside. The decor was rich and decadent but brutal. Tapestries of the most brutal deaths in history adorned the walls which were seemingly endless. The manor was a maze within but this woman - Camula - navigated them so well compared to Asuka, who just kept track of where they were going mentally, was already quite confused.
The doors opened by themselves at the threshold of the library. Asuka was stunned. She had never seen such automations before. From what she could observe, the only living souls in this manor was herself and her madam, Camula. She had not spied a servant or any quarters which would pertain to such.
Camula kept sashaying forth and Asuka kept pace. She stole glances around. It smelt old and musty but there were rows upon rows of bookcases which were taller than trees and all of them crammed tight with tomes and grimoires and all sorts of treasure troves of history. Merely being in their presence, Asuka felt blessed and eager.
Camula sat down in a plush armchair by a central, brick fireplace in the middle of the library. There was a twin to the set so Asuka did the same. She kept her knees and ankles together but Camula was more languid in her body language. Asuka glanced down and she noticed the fire had not been lit.
Camula noticed and Asuka stiffened. She worried if she had committed some faux pas but Camula merely giggled with a smirk, she lifted a hand and snapped her fingers. The fire ignited.
“H-How did you do that?” Asuka stuttered out the question.
“Dominion over fire is one benefit of my longevity,” Camula said and she spoke with sloth, bringing attention to her crimson lips and Asuka was entranced, even as she saw those unnatural canines in the corners, she chose to believe they were carved or natural disfigurements, “counteracts the loneliness and starvation. Almost. You come to Camula, yes, for her knowledge and her library. That must mean you are familiar with the not quite truths of my power and my resources, yes?”
Asuka frowned. “I heard you were a vampire, yes, if that is what you are asking but I do not believe in such monsters.”
“A shame.” Camula said. “Because such monsters believe in you.”
Asuka shivered. “What do you mean?”
Camula leaned over the armrests of the armchairs, just so she could touch Asuka’s face. She winced. Camula’s fingers were ice cold and her nails were more like the talons of a vulture.
“I am vampire. That is no lie nor no rumour. The exactness of vampirism, yes, it is murky to those unaware but I am a vampire.” Camula whispered. “And if you desire all of this, all of thy library to study, then I wish to feed from you, dearest Asuka.”
Asuka had come here for knowledge. Including and especially that which had been forbidden to her. Her furrowed brows were cute and she lifted her arm to Camula, flexing the muscle and making a vein in the pale of her arm more noticeable, even in the fireside dim of the library.
“I want to see more of the effects of your vampirism, and what would you recommend? Reading forward or reading backward? Beginning at the beginning of time or at what you have most recent?” Asuka asked, withholding a tremble in her arm as Camula caressed her there.
Her fingers slid sensually along the flat of Asuka’s forearm. Her heart pounded. Camula looked up to her and her eyes glowed in the dark like a bat’s. There was a droop of hunger to her demeanour. Forlorn and agonised with what she had been denied for so long.
“Whatever you desire, dearest Asuka.” Camula replied.
“Very well.” Asuka said. “You have my consent to feed from me.”
Asuka steeled herself but there was very little need to. Camula was gentle. She kissed the inner of Asuka’s wrist before sliding her face, soft as velvet, down Asuka’s forearm before stopping at the crook of her elbow. She held on a little tighter and there was dual pinch. Asuka flinched but she didn’t let that turn into hesitation or suspicion as Camula fed from her.
The taste of Asuka’s blood was divine. She was sweet as a noblewoman should be; having grown up on buttered, honey toast and game grown on verdant pastures. Camula taste it all and what a feast Asuka provided her with. She was succulent.
Asuka watched, intrigued, as this vampire drank her blood. After losing what felt like a quart of blood, she withdrew her arm and Camula sighed. She let Asuka go but Asuka felt her nails trail on her skin and Camula held her hand. She looked up, in a daze, blood on her lips. Tasteful trails, not messy. She licked idly at them and Asuka was fascinated.
“You should eat too, dear,” Camula told her, “not good to lose too much blood at once, yes?”
Asuka nodded but Camula laughed. There was a mirth in her eyes which surprised Asuka.
“But let me guess, you would like it brought out here so you may read simultaneous to tending to your own health and hungers?” Camula asked.
“How did you know?” Asuka asked, a little sheepish.
“I just know these things.” Camula told her.
Asuka smiled with a hint of a blush. Camula excused herself and left Asuka alone. She was giddy but it was a quiet sort of giddy. She couldn’t tell if it was from blood loss or the gain of something else. She looked around the hallowed room once more - such a gargantuan library - and she was just filled with wonder. She just knew this would be a most beneficial relationship between herself and Camula.
And oh what a true prophecy that was.
From Camula, Asuka feeded and from Asuka, Camula feeded. Soon, not just in the library or along Asuka’s arms, but elsewhere too. Asuka permitted Camula’s lips to all parts of her body. Underneath her clothes and deep between her legs, upon her breasts and in sessions long and sweet for them both. In turn, Asuka found many reading nooks in the various places of the castle - including and especially what would become her favour, Camula’s royal bedchambers.
They spent months together in this bliss of satiating all their various hungers: of the body, of the mind, and even of the soul. From the dead of winter all the way to the brink where summer surrenders to an already pervading autumn. But it was at that fall of summer and that rise of autumn that they experienced a fall of a different kind.
Asuka’s older brother, concerned for his younger sister’s welfare had come searching for her. Though she had disowned herself when he had tried to stifle her curiosity and tenacity, he had come looking and upon that mountainside, streaked with vermillion leaves and harsh outcroppings of rock, he found her.
In the ballroom and in the arms of her lover.
The ballroom was huge. Of marble tiles and tall marble spires. It was wall to wall with mirrors that only Asuka could see herself in. Dress sashaying about but there were two sounds of high heels on the crisp, clean flooring. A place where instruments played themselves: a harp, a lure, a violin. All of Camula’s favourites and more playing songs that Asuka knew from before the first century that humans recorded and recognised.
It had been such a wonderful night for them both. Camula was always one ready for a dance and at the end of what had been harvest time for the human peons down off the mountainside was a perfect time. Asuka had agreed. One last time to don their summer dresses of brilliant scarlet and sepia. They could have danced the night away and that had been their intention with their dancing eventually leading to something else but then the door opened unexpectedly.
Banging and clanging and they were both terrified, holding onto each other, a mess of arms and scars, and Asuka saw him.
“Fubuki.” she gasped and she gasped again when he acted first and thought second.
He shot a crossbow with an arrow meant for Camula.
Camula screamed as Asuka slumped in her arms. Asuka had never lost blood quite like this before. It always felt like a kiss of passion from Camula. This was passion too. Just not quite so sensuous. More wrathful than that. And when she died, fearing for her own life and safety, Camula abandoned Asuka, even though that caused her to screech in anguish than if she had been the one to have had a stake launched against her.
Her eerily beautiful human body gave way to fur and she transformed into a bat. She escaped and Fubuki cursed her name. Blaming her for his sister’s death than his own hands but at least she was back. She was no longer with monsters. Not realising his own monstrousness as he took back his sister and buried her six feet under. Caressing her arms, covered in bite marks from repeated sessions of bleeding, seeing something vile where Asuka once saw love.
But Camula would not rescind her lover quite so easily.
Asuka wanted knowledge for knowledge’s sake. She did not want immortality or vampirism. She still saw good in humans, even when Camula relayed stories of all the times she had to hide for her own safety. If only tonight had been one of those nights in the crypt where she begged for humans to leave her alone but she was alive as she was dead and she wanted to celebrate every minute she had with Asuka as human lives were so finite.
Completely unlike the dirt they buried themselves in after they lived. Dirt, Camula thought, was endless as she sifted through the soil that Asuka - her Asuka - was buried beneath. She scraped through it with an expression born of ferity. Not caring remotely for how it sullied and tarnished the silk dress and ermine coat that she adorned herself in. Not even as how the dirt became slurry and mud as rain poured overhead, stingingly cold and cruel. Not until she felt her whole body quake when her claws raked against wood. Not even fine, mahogany wood. Just pine. Asuka deserved better, Camula cursed her brother and her pitiful family.
She had not been stolen away and seduced. She had journeyed and been loved for her inquisitive nature. Her accursed stone gravestone was wrong and Camula would ensure it was.
Camula broke through the wood and she saw Asuka’s face. Pale, tinged green and blue but still so, so beautiful. Like a saint. Camula helped Asuka out of it. Her body like the poppets that Camula was so fond of making for herself.
With a heaving breath, desperate and wrong, Camula kissed Asuka. They had done so much together but never this for a vampire’s kiss was all that it took. Took to return life to a corpse and to cause an undeath in a human. But Camula kissed Asuka hard, even when she tasted for the chemicals they used to embalm her body and it sickened Camula. Things were meant to die and become putrid. She knew that all too well as an immortal.
But at least Asuka woke up from her death like she had woken up from a nap. She was confused, her brown eyes wide, and then she realised. Thunder crashed and boomed; lightning was quick to follow like a snivelling dog. And Asuka’s heart broke: with that realisation, yes, but with the grief she saw on Camula, like mud and rain and death.
“What have you done?” Asuka asked, tears in her eyes but Camula was praying they were raindrops.
“I couldn’t,” Camula sobbed, “I could not face eternity after knowing you and your love, please, dearest Asuka, forgive me and mine own selfishness. I am no different to your brother and murderer.”
Asuka took Camula’s hand. She didn’t know how to console her. She didn’t know if she ought to but she at the very least took Camula’s hand and marvelled at the fact it was still cold. Just like hers now, she supposed, and she kissed Camula. Camula kissed back and she snivelled into it. Scurrying and terrified but Asuka didn’t mind as there was a dominance to her own kiss. A pierce of the lips as she tried to grapple with the feeling of having fangs in her own mouth. Camula whimpered and she bled with the sludge that vampires carried in their own veins in the place of blood. It was foul. Putrid. But she kept kissing back to Asuka’s forceful kiss in her very own grave.

So sorry to @enchantedrose1 for messing up your request. I totally forgot who Cho was and thought that "chos" was a typo. I'm so embarrassed. Below I've re-written the request; I hope you like it.
Subject: Castlevania, Adrien Alucard Tepes Title: Cho's Daughter Trigger Warning: Death mentions, Kidnapping
Traveling from Japan to Europe was to next to impossible for a vampire, but your mother had done it. Cho had been far from weak, in fact, she was the terror of Japan's nights. So when you received word that she'd been killed, the news had felt fake. No one but Dracula should have had the power to kill the demon mist vampire. You tried to keep the rumors away from the humans, your mother's precious playthings, but information spreads fast amongst the disenfranchised. Other vampires would soon prey on them all. Within days, her empire had fallen apart and you were left alone in the ghost of a building with only a name to know who killed your mother; Alucard.
You knew of him, after all, dhampr were rare in a world where humans saw mating with vampires as necrophilia and vampires saw mating with humans as unnecessary. Even the idea of mating with them was seen as some sort of sick bestiality. Your mother hadn't been much different, conceiving you in a night where blood lust and lust had become the same. But Alucard was different; Dracula had seen his human pet as a woman and married her. Alucard had been born from love and he'd destroyed the vampire hierarchies across the world over night, inspiring hate that would live on for eons.
Even with a weaker version of Cho's ability to become mist, traveling was difficult, but the long journey would be worth it kill him.
Finding Dracula's castle was the easy part; it was big and monstrous in the forest, disturbing in its design and decor. You could smell the bodies in front of the castle, both of which you recognized from the compound. Both fools who had snuck away the moment they heard of Cho's death. They must have come to him for the opposite reason you had.
You grabbed the top of your katana and stepped toward the castle. A quiet approach would be far more beneficial than to announce yourself. Quiet as a mouse and swift as a monster.
From one step to the next, your body dissolved into mist and slipped under the door. A tingle shot through you and you reformed on the other side. A barrier along the door. Alucard must have put it in place, you would not be able to leave the same way you had come in. That was fine, you weren't leaving until he was dead anyway.
"Who's there?" You didn't know what Alucard would look or sound like, but seeing him in the shadows of his own castle, long honey blond hair and golden eyes, he was far from what you were expecting. You'd seen the paintings of Dracula, black hair and abyssal eyes filled with darkness, but his son was the opposite. He's was the light where his father was dark.
Well, it didn't really matter when he was going to be ash, soon. "Your reckoning."
Alucard stepped into the hall, carefully eyeing you. "And what have I done to earn your wrath?"
"You don't know who I am?" You hissed. Your grip tightened on your blade.
"Based on that sword... You must have come from Japan." He crossed his arms, "If you have a grievance with the corpses out front, you should know they tried to kill me first."
Your blood boiled. "Who cares about a couple of humans? My mother! Cho, the demon mist of Japan and its most powerful vampire lord." How dare he not even bother to remember her.
Alucard turned away and you shot after him, ready to bury your blade in his heart, but something hit you instead. Burning hot pain seared through your abdomen. You looked down to see a sword through your stomach. "What?"
"I made to sure to miss any vital organs. You'll be fine." Alucard faced you, swiftly disarming you in a matter of seconds. "Dhampr are rare, so I don't think I'll kill you. plus, its quite lonely in this castle. Maybe it would be good to keep you here. You can be my pet, help me with the Belmont library."
"Kill me! Like you killed my mother. I hate you more than anything in this world!" The wards on the doors would keep you from leaving. He had you trapped, set to become either his prey or pet. "Just kill me!"
"Don't worry." His hands, cold as ice, gently touched your cheek, "I'll treat you so well you won't to die." Something clicked around your throat. You couldn't see it, but you could feel it. All of your otherwordlyless pushed away. You couldn't shift into mist, it was like your powers were too far to reach. "Now, let's get you fed."

Malak, Selasi (The Arcana)
WOULD LIKE TO PLAY
Adrian Fahrenheit Tepes / Alucard (Castlevania) (though I’d need to gain a lot more confidence/time to make sure I’d get his characterization even remotely right sfklsjf)
Orlok Dracule (Bloodstained) (vamp librarian lord? color me ecstatic. though again, I’d need to first take the time and watch all of the game’s story scenes / educate myself on this spinoff’s lore in full in order to gain confidence in any sort of potential portrayal haha)
Julian Devorak (The Arcana, though a possibly multifandom/AU version of him in order to explore more options and verses outside of the game if that makes sense? xD)
MIGHT BRING BACK

Final Fantasy XV - Lucian Legend
“Do you know the legend of the Child in the Mist?”
“No, how does it go?”
“There is a legend told in whispers among my people, by both those who live in the countryside and those who live in the city, for this legend affects all. And parents are right to be afraid, and should always believe if they wish for their child to live.
For eons, upon eons, after the time of the Founder King, there has been a strange mist that appears in Lucis seemingly at random and always at night. Within the mist, the mist that is alive and follows this being, is a child whom looks like a kid version of the Founder King, wearing a red and white, worn cloak, so long it even occasionally covers the child’s lower face. In their right hand, a lantern with a blue-white flame burning inside. In their left hand, a sword as tall as their entire being, so much so that they treat it like a hiking staff but in combat they wield it like it’s a part of their limb, as if the weight and height means nothing. This is the Child in the Mist.
The Child in the Mist goes wherever they wish all across Lucis, but they can’t leave Lucian shores. In the night, they come. Drifting in the mist, through the mist, they enter your home. Singing a haunting song that nobody except for the children who look to be their physical age hears. When you hear the melody, you must follow, the Child doesn’t give you a choice. Where the Child takes you, nobody knows. But into the Mist, you follow them.
By dawn’s light, you are released from the Child’s hold. However, by then, it is too late. Nobody survives the Child’s call, nobody survives the Child’s games. You are dead, no matter where you end up. And always, a single white cloth is tied around the child’s eyes.
That is the legend of the Child in the Mist.”
“No survivors, truly?”
“No survivors. Except for one person. One child managed to survive the night with the Child.”
Everybody leans forward, eagerly, wanting to know who.
Regis’s eyes opens, then snaps up to stare at everyone listening from their position staring into the fire, as they simply answer,
“Me.”

My FFXV Runaway!Somnus AU be like...
During Somnus’ early years:
Random citizen, concerned: (after getting helped by the kid) Hey, what about your family? Ain’t they concerned and lookin’ for you, kid? I know there’s a lot of homeless kids out there, but you definitely don’t look like you’ve been homeless for long.
Six-year-old runaway Somnus Lucis Caelum, panicking and not wanting to go home to the big, scary dragon that keeps haunting him in his nightmares: What’s A Family?
Meanwhile,
26-year-old King Ardyn, pausing in his hunt search for Somnus: Why do I have the sudden urge to facepalm, as if Somnus said something dumb?
...
Years down the line...
A different random citizen, getting farm help from Somnus: Okay, I have to ask, kid, where’s your family? I know the rumors said about you is that you don’t have one or rather, never said anything ‘bout them but I still gotta ask.
16-year-old Somnus, accepting his life choices and just rolling with it, without missing a beat: What’s a family?
Meanwhile,
36-year-old King Ardyn, pausing in lecturing his kids while looking through parchmentwork for any sign of his still missing brother: Why am I suddenly gravely insulted, as if Somnus said something indicating I don’t exist?

A new multichapter fic I started, if anybody wants to check it out.
It’s basically a ‘What if Link was reincarnated as Cloud?’ fic. Similar to Chosen Hero in that regard but their adventures, obviously, are going to be completely different from one another.

Writing Prompt
You and your crew are space adventurers - explorers really. You and your friends have done this for as long as you can remember - actually, your whole family, all of you, have been explorers/space adventurers since the Space Frontier Era of the 21st Century.
Right now, you're dealing with the problem of fuel - the ship is running out of energy and it is no where near any Space Stations set up in the Milky Way long ago. Luckily, the planets you've been visited and exploring and reporting about in this sector are all filled to the brim with materials. Unluckily, said materials are ones that have just enough of different components to Terra's metals and energy that the engineers and blacksmiths have no idea how to safely melt, manipulate, or use the materials for the ship without potentially causing an explosion.
Another thing is that none of the logs from past and present explorers detail the same problem and the ones that do are from centuries ago when there weren't any Space Stations. And none of those have to do with your current energy problem.
