I am fully aware that this is a fun little ‘all the jackets Kate Beckett has ever worn’ series but I saw this and my mind went down a rabbit hole.

Imagine this:

Three years after her apartment blew up, after she lost most of everything she had ever owned, Kate is searching the hallway closet for something when she finds the box that she had tucked away when she first moved in.

The box contained the few items that were able to be salvaged from the wreckage of her home, her life. She had tucked it away because, at the time, it was too painful to look through. She was grateful for these things, but at the time she wasn’t in the right mindset, seeing what was saved would only remind her of what was lost.

But now, life is good. Her career is solid, her relationships - both personal and professional - are blossoming and she has made a new home for herself within these walls.

She’s strong now, she’s ready now.

She pulls the box from the back of the closet and sets it on the bench, opening it slowly.

She gets emotional as she pulls out photos and other trinkets from her past life; a little sad, but it’s the good kind of sad. She pulls out a family photograph, a captured memory that could have never been replaced, and tears well in her eyes.

She makes a mental note to buy a new frame so that she can display this, like she used to. Maybe even ask Castle if she can keep it at the loft, seeing as she spends most of her time there now. She doesn’t think he would object to that, not at all.

She keeps digging through the forgotten time capsule, paying careful attention to each item she pulls from it, taking her time to reminisce, to appreciate.

Finally, she pulls out the last item, and she can’t believe it; her favourite jacket.

She had put it away after Coonan’s death, unable to wear it without the memories flooding back in. But she had hoped that she would wear it again one day, that the day she was strong enough to slip into it would mark the day she was finally at peace. And with the loss of the jacket, she had felt some sense of hopelessness, like that peace would never come.

She shrugs the light cardigan she’s wearing from her shoulders, replacing it with the leather jacket. Her arms slip into the sleeves and she slowly zips up the front. It’s a perfect fit still.

“Did you find it?” Castle asks as he enters the living area. His eyes land on her and he recognises the jacket instantly - the memory of her wearing it as she sobbed over Coonan’s body was, unfortunately, permanently ingrained in his memory.

But she smiles and he knows that she is okay.

“You look good,” he comments.

And it’s decided. She’s found her peace.

So I manage to score a pre-owned complete set Castle S1-S8 DVDs recently on eBay (only for £12 I might add! 🎉) and was going through S5 bonus features to see what commentaries are available.

I can’t believe I have never come across this bonus feature before! It’s sooo good and hilarious! I love when Martha refers to Kate as “his amore” 🥹🥹 Then Kate’s acting skills 🤣🤣 I love when we got to see Kate acting in 6x20 haha but this one is.. you just gotta watch it haha

Watching: Been finally watching Castle from the beginning. I've seen many episodes here and there across the whole series, but never all of them from the beginning!

Next Up: Both 9-1-1s. I feel like I know them both in full already from all the Tumblr posts I see, and the random episodes here and there I've really enjoyed, so those will be my next to tackle.

Rewatching: Always NCIS: LA (6x05 thru 6x20 are airing on ION tomorrow, yay!), and trying to think of anything else I've been watching/rewatching, and coming up pretty blank. Though that could be that could just be cuz I'm trying to think on the spot. Castle still kinda goes in this category too though.

What else should I watch? If you can't tell, I tend to like procedurals, and crime-y ones at that, should I branch out? Lemme know!

Also, surely you can’t just cast a curse with black fairy dust alone. Doesn’t she need to crush the heart of the thing she loves the most? I’m guessing that would be Rumple.

Didn’t Colin break his leg during this and had to perform with a broken leg? Oh dear. I think that was the second time that’s happened to the poor dude! 

Woah! He shot gold with Dreamshade?!

It didn’t not kill him because he was immortal it was because of the candle thing with Cora that he survived! This show has quite literally lost the plot this season. Just a scratch of Dreamshade should have been enough to kill Rumple! They’ve forgotten what they’ve already established. Why not use something else to knock him out. A crap tonne of squid ink would have immobilised him for a while.

He still wants to skin himself a crocodile? I thought he’d given up on that.

I have to say, I didn’t expect Emma to be a soprano but okay cool! 

That song is actually so powerful! That song was always inside her because it’s always been there! We’ve heard it so many times at the end of every episode. She was never alone!! They’ve been there all along!!

That bloody hideous wedding dress that Emma would never wear! 

I love the music when they’re saying their vows.

It seems neither Emma or Killian have middle names. I’ve headcanoned Emma’s to be Ruth for a while but I guess that wouldn’t make any sense since that name wasn’t on the blanket so no one would have known that in the lwom. Snowing could have intended for that to be Emma’s middle name though. I like to think so. She sacrificed her life so that Emma could come to be. That would be an amazing gift to David’s mama who would have freaking doted on Emma.

Zelena and Regina dancing together gives me life.

Is Emma supposed to look like a swan? Idk still hate that dress.

This is the best day of Zelena’s life. Her otp is getting married!

I thoroughly enjoyed that episode as always. I always hoped for a musical episode but never thought we’d get it. If the whole show was a musical I would be estatic but love it no matter what!

So I was tagged in this by @wonderwolfballoon some time ago! Thank you so much for the tag. I struggled a little bit with putting 7 movies together because I usually rewatch TV Shows as a form of comfort watching - so this is going to be a mix of stuff that I watch when I’m super sad 

Here are my Top 7 Comfort Movies in no particular order! 

1. Lès Miserables - 25th Anniversary Concert  I’m one of the few people on this website that finds Les Mis extremely amusing. With the musical, however, is the comfort of well-know songs mixed with Ramin Karimloo’s stunning voice and Hadley Fraser’s great R. Oh, yes, also the gays. 

2. Howl’s Moving Castle Self-explanatory. Miyazaki’s a balm for my soul, and any of his movies are great when the mood is low and life’s hard. However, this one has my favourite soundtracks so it’s the one I pick when I can’t decide on what to watch. 

3. Kingsman It’s funny, it’s british, it has Colin Firth as Harry Hart, super spy.

4. Pride and Prejudice (2005) I’ve been watching this movie since it came out in dvd and I purchased it because I was in my Pride&Prejudice days (I was 13? 12?). Anyhow, I was disappointed Colin Firth wasn’t in it until I played the dvd - discovering that this movie has GREAT hands quality content. If you watched it, you know what scene I’m talking about.

5. Mamma Mia!  Abba are a blessing to this world. 

6. Melin BBC, 5x13 - Diamond of the Day, part 2. Rewatching this over and over again is somehow cathartic. 

7. Supernatural, literally any random episode from S1 to S8.  Special mention to: 1x06 (Skin), 2x01 (In My time of Dying), 2x20 (What Is and What Should Never Be), 3x11 (Mystery Spot), 4x01 (Lazarus Rising), 4x16 (On the Head of a Pin), 4x20 (The Rapture), 5x14 (My Bloody Valentine), 6x15 (The French Mistake), 6x20 (The Man who Would be King), 7x01 (Meet the new Boss), 7x17 (The Born-Again Identity), 8x01 (We Need to Talk About Kevin), 8x11 (LARP and the Real Girl), 8x16 (Remembers the Titans), 8x17 (Goodbye Strangers)
