i gotta post abouts for Cassius Hawke, Edith Cousland, Nikolas Pentaghast, and Yassara... for real.... but im so /lazy with writing bios.

Cassius Hawke -> a blue hawke ; two handed sword warrior ; medic for the ferelden army -> kind , noble , tired -> he likes plants and botany -> very pro-mages -> champion of kirkwall -> bisexual

Edith Cousland -> apostate mage -> atrophy magic specialty -> grey warden -> what if the couslands used their wealth and power to hide their mage daughter and she's self-taught with a few secret apostate teachers -> the hero of ferelden -> bisexual

Nikolas Pentaghast -> son of prelate vestalus pentaghast, cousin of cassandra pentaghast -> a mortalitasi mage with considerable power -> has a unique ideas about mages against the chantry -> loves magic, has a passion and respect for the dead and spirits -> bisexual

Yassara -> yuan ti -> older woman -> warlock of a great old one ( dendar; the night serpent ) -> she ends up in the ten towns seeking out a necromancer to find and contact her dead wife and son -> after the Rime of Frostmaiden campaign and with the help of her party, her wife and son are resurrected -> With her wife and son returned to her, they return to Chult, to their home in Port Nyanzaru, and becomes the Merchant Prince in control of magic items (potions, spells, magic weapons) and enchantment -> lesbian

Important Facts about Cassius Ignatus Ingellvar, my Rook for the Emotional Damage Worldstate that also ring true in my canon Worldstate: The Shattered Crown:

Early Life:

Cassius is biologically the grandson of both Bann Fearchar Mac Enraig (maternal) and King Markus Pentaghast of Nevarra (yeah okay King Markus canonically didn’t have kids but canon is mouldable to our own wishes) Making him a bastard prince & Nevarran noblility technically, and both the biological cousin of the Hero of Ferelden and a distant cousin of Cassandra Pentaghast.

His real name is not actually known by anyone. Although Eleanor Cousland’s younger sister did talk about a son who she’d named Domhnall once, leading Eleanor and Bryce to believe the baby had died at birth during a eighteen month trip she took to Nevarra.

His father, King Markus’ secret son was murdered in the chasm of the Necropolis after hiding his son away in a tomb, saving his life, his body was promptly stuffed in a tomb in the chasm hidden away by Markus’ opponents. Cassius would later stumble across the tomb with the help of Emmrich 30 or so years later.

baby Cassius was found shortly after by Vorgoth and a few skeletons, and was taken in and raised by an couple of Mourn Watchers who couldn’t have children of their own. They gave him the name Cassius Ignatus Ingellvar.

His magic manifested when he was eleven.

Before enrolling as a student at the Necropolis himself Cassius liked hanging round the streets of Nevarra people watching although when he says it he does sound like he lived on the streets for a bit. That’s not really the case though.

His parents died of old age just before he was accepted into the academy, within weeks of each other.

The incident:

Cassius is canonically disabled. He’s half blind.

During his time as a student he was honestly brilliant. He was well behaved, he loved learning, he was very eager to participate in classes.

But….one day when he was fourteen, everything went wrong. A fellow student of his was experimenting with a new method of resurrection and accidentally caused an accident, zapping Cassius with electricity which sent him flying, and knocked him unconscious for four weeks, he was severely injured with burns all over his body and he lost vision in his right eye completely. His injuries eventually healed and scarred over but his vision never recovered. His eye doesn’t work at all.

Despite this, he’s never really let his disability define him, he learned how to do everything better because of it but he still has occasional slip ups, his balance isn’t the best and he sometimes mistimes jumping a little because of the distance thing.

As for his scars, when he got older, he decided to cover up the worst of them with tattoos on his arm, leg and back.

The scar on his face is kind of an insecurity point for him though but it’s also what makes him who he is in a way and he knows that.

The Rebellion:

Okay so Cassius and the rebellion still happens in both world states, I haven’t figured out what he did to actually quell it so drastically exactly, but I don’t think someone who is as good an egg who sees the best in people as Cassius would do something bad, just something that pissed off the Mourn Watchers.

Whatever he did, Cassius does leave the Watchers for a bit. Going with Varric in the Emotional Damage Worldstate (his Rook run) or being sent on a trip only returning help the Veilguard (my canon Worldstate).

Whatever happens though, he ends up aiding the Veilguard, so much so that he befriends and develops a close bond with Emmrich specifically.

Romantic Relationships

Speaking of relationships, Cassius is gay and in a relationship with bone daddy himself, Emmrich Volkarin.

In the Shattered Crown it’s a little more complicated than in the Emotional Damage Worldstate, as Emmrich and Strife do date for a while but it doesn’t last because they’re just….too different (side note I don’t like the Strife/Emmrich romance, it just comes out of nowhere, unlike Neve and Lucanis or Harding and Taash) and Emmrich is kind of accidentally swept off his feet by Cassius.

But more on the above point will be coming in a future post, when I get round to figuring out and explaining the logistics of how my canon Worldstate works.

Cassius has never been in a relationship before, kind of like Ariadne De Riva, my canon Rook, but he has different reasons to Ariadne as to why that is and that is because he didn’t think anyone could love him due to his scars and disability for a long time. Also he had only just about figured out his sexuality when Emmrich came swanning into the Veilguard and sealed it for him,

Cassius is actually older than Emmrich initially thinks, he’s 30. But that still a good 20 or so years between them so the worry Emmrich has is reasonable.

Cassius likes Emmrich because he’s so knowledgeable and smart and kind. It’s his gentleness and kindness that makes him fall for him.

Anyway Cassius and Emmrich’s relationship does end up much the same in the Shattered Crown Worldstate as the romance in the Emotional Damage Worldstate, just with some minor changes (like that Emmrich had already sacrificed the Lich thing and obviously Cassius doesn’t go through the trapped in the fade thing and most, if not all of the games events are over).

Miscellaneous:

Cassius is kind and just a purely good egg. he just tries to see the best in everyone but he’s not naive. He has his moments of anger when something I just happens or people aren’t listening to him although he prefers to deal with those people diplomatically but he will punch if he has to.

He’s also very charming and has an odd timing with flirting.

Vorgoth is basically his adopted dad at this point. It’s kind of funny.

He’s going prematurely grey.

He believes in the Maker, he’s Andrastian in faith.

But he also believes that spirits retain something of themselves when they die and are raised back from the dead.

Elethea Cousland: I married the love of my life and became queen of ferelden.

Mharaven Lavellan: mine turned out to be an ancient god who took my arm and is now doing to destroy the world. I still love him and have to hope i can convince him otherwise.

Cassius Hawke: I killed the love of my life in hopes that Meredith would spare the circle and therefore my sister but she called for an annulment anyway, rendering the sacrifice moot and now I have to live with the guilt and the what ifs.

Okay, fangirling settled for now lol, these two are the Wardens from my friend ( @thevictorianwarden ) and I’s combined world state. The first picture is Cassius Cousland and the second is his older brother Aedan circa. 9:31 Dragon during the Fifth Blight.

Cassius is 21/22 in this picture and Aedan is 27 and they were so beautifully captured by the amazing Cinn @justanartsysideblog Definitely go commission her if you have the chance, as you can see she’s ridiculously talented and a pleasure to work with!

Using game dialogue and original the journey is remastered like never before, carefully crafted to maximize characters, story, and emotions in a way that stays true to the story we all love.

Chapter 29 “A Toast” is up! Finally done with school for the semester so I am back again!

Finally they began moving north along the Imperial Highway, having talked to the Arl they agreed to meet in Denerim as his much larger party would take more time to get there while they finished a few things up north. Like meeting up again with a man called Levi Dryden for example, who had found them a few weeks back talking about a lost Warden fortress. Which is where they would be in the next few days according to him, but until then it was a normal evening at camp.

Seemed like such a strange thing, all of them camping was Cassius’ normal. The thought of them not doing so after this seemed strange, that they would most likely go separate ways was even stranger. His mind wandered to what could happen after, assuming they weren’t dead of course. Would he return to Highever with Aedan? Would they go back to an empty castle? Would Leliana go back to the Chantry or even Orlais? Would Morrigan go back to the Wilds and disappear? What would become of Alistair,  Zevran, Oghren, Shale, or Sten? Would the spirit keeping Wynne alive feel there was no longer a need to? Or would things be different? Would they all leave their old lives behind and travel around Thedas as some sort of group of renegades, forgetting everything, even the Wardens and noble trappings, to stick together.

Cassius smiled to himself, highly doubting the last option was likely, but it was amusing to think of nonetheless. He returned to his book that rested in his lap, another book about Blights, but still no luck in figuring out an advantage.

“Hello...” A familiar voice that made him smile said. He looked up at Leliana with a grin but it faded quickly when he saw the look on her face.

“Are you alright?”

“Oh uh-- yes, but... could you follow me?” She asked clutching the strap of the bag that was slung on her shoulders.

“Sure of course. Are you sure you’re alright?” He asked as he followed her out of the camp.

“Yes, I am. Just-- please,” She took his hand and guided him to a small grassy clearing quite a distance away from camp. When Cassius asked why they’d come so far she simply said it was far enough so they wouldn’t be intruded upon before she stopped and said, “Let us sit.”

Cassius nodded and sat down with her. She pulled her bag off her shoulder and opened it. Reaching in she pulled out a bottle, small wooden cups, and a stone the size of her palm.

“What’s this?”

Actually yes they do.

Aedan and Cassius Cousland both speak with a Northern Ferelden accent being from Highever and the Storm Coast which I headcanon to be anywhere in the range of the Staffordshire to Yorkshire accents of England, so like Hugh Dancy to Sean Bean in range over the whole coast, but as nobles they have an infulence of the "Received Pronunciation" English/Ferelden in their accent.

Aedan's northerner accent is a little thicker than Cassius' from spending time with their cousins from the Storm Coast Bannorn, lower born knights, and sailors growing up while Cassius spent much of his time alone, with their mother, and around visiting nobles or their tutor causing his accent to be slightly different than Aedan's, if a little more "proper" by Ferelden nobility standards. So going from my previously mentioned scale Cassius probably is closer to Hugh Dancy in accent while Aedan is closer to (but a few levels down from) Sean Bean.

Merriam Hawke speaks like her in game counter part with a more standard Ferelden (English) accent but I always imagine her using more British/Ferelden slang than the Cousland boys. More "bloody"s, "snogging"/"shagging", or "sod it" type phrases, that sort of thing.

And finally my Inquisitor, Siani Lavellan speaks with the Dalish/Welsh accent. So lots of lilting to her voice and it's much softer than the in-game Inquistor's, that is if she speaks at all. She can be a rather quiet one. Still haven't found an actress I am in love with for her voice yet so example pending lol
