Hi
So while procrastinating writing the fic I'm working on, I decided it was time for me to read the Royal Ranger. I only have book one, and I've had it for about a year now, but I never read even the first page. I've heard stuff throughout the fandom about it, but I've tried to stay away from royal ranger specific posts in order to not spoil the book for me.
If you also haven't read it yet and want to avoid spoilers, stop reading now. You've been warned.
Here's the things I knew before reading:
Will has a beard now. This is very controversial.
Alyss dies. She was burned to death. Also very controversial.
Horace and Cassie have a daughter named Maddie. Maddie becomes Will's apprentice.
And that's about it.
I decided that since the Royal Ranger was so hit or miss for the community, I'd document my thoughts on it (as a personal record, if you will) and see how my opinions change, if they change at all. Feel free to laugh at me if I make predictions and they end up being completely wrong lol
I've read the first seven chapters, and here are the main thoughts I have right now.
1. Is Will now just Halt? When he was first being described during the scene with Henry Wheeler, I dead ass thought Flanagan was talking about Halt. I mean, Will is grey already? Like, fully grey. He's described as having a "steel-grey beard." Not grey and brown, just grey. Halt???
2. Alyss' death fit her character well, but why did she have to die? Keep in mind, I was never the biggest fan of Alyss - I thought a character as interesting as a diplomat should have more personality than just "the main character's girlfriend" - but come on? We barely got to see them married. Idk man. I feel like her death would be better justified if they had actually like. been together longer? 10/10 for writing her death though, saving a poor child from death seems really in character for her, especially considering that's pretty much what Baron Arald did for the ward kids (he didn't die for it but still, he saved them from a childhood of neglect and almost certain death). I feel like it's a great wrap to her story, although I wish her story was longer.
3. Crowley was done dirty. What the actual f u c k Flanagan? The Corps Commander, the man, myth, and legend gets a paragraph to explain his death. It's such a lamely written death too? Crowley, a ranger, who was probably in peak health, just nopes out one night. At least he was smiling..? And maybe it's the fact that TEY is my favorite part of the series so far, but Crowley deserved way better than that shit. Also I'm surprised that I managed to not know about Crowley's death before this?? I actually cried reading it. He was such a precious little man in TEY, how could you do this Flanagan???
4. Maddie is a bit of a brat. Not even a bit, she kinda just is. To be fair, Cassie was that way sometimes as well, but Maddie just seems... I don't know, too much of a 'I-do-what-I-want-and-you-can't-stop-me' kinda person, but in a bad way??? Like that one kid in school who would never listen to authority figures and got everyone in trouble all the time? I hope she mellows out because she could be a great character, I think. It's said she takes after her mom, but I'd like to see her act like Horace too.
5. Gilan. Just Gilan. What?? I never liked his relationship with Jenny much, he seems quite a bit too old for her (at least 5 years, most likely quite a bit more since Halt had a few years between Gilan and Will), but he's so relentless in asking her to marry him? Huh??
And also, BOLD of Flanagan to assume Gilan would be hesitant about letting a girl into the corps. This man has traveled with Cassie. He's traveled with Lydia from Brotherband. He knows women are capable. I mentioned not liking his and Jenny's relationship, but like. he even respects her. She's a business woman, she owns her own restaurant. No one can possibly convince me that Gilan doesn't drink his respect-women juice DAILY. It feels out of character for him.
6. Poor Duncan. That's the end of the sentence.
7. Those guards are hysterical. Ah, yes, let's just casually not mention or try to stop the princess sneaking in and out of the castle even though this could end really really badly. Perfect logic.
And yeah that's all I got right now. I'm very excited to see how my opinions so far change! I'll document them here too in case anyone cares. Feel free to reblog with your own RR opinions and the like! I'd love to see what you guys think of my takes lol

I’m going to rant about this because I need someone to rant about this too.
The Fnaf movie did Cassidy so dirty.
First of all, they decided to turn her into a boy for seemingly no reason other then it’s easier to understand who possesses who, but I think it would still be clear to have a girl possessing a male animatronic, audiences are gonna get that. It also helps prove that Fnaf really cannot write female characters, Charlie was fucked over in the book series, Vanessa’s entire character revolves around breaking free from Glitchtrap which is a plot point we were somehow still on in Help Wanted 2, and Cassidy is criminally underutilised. Elizabeth and Baby are the only solid written characters, and even then Baby is fucked over by the books. They do have some okay characters, like Cassie, Abby and Movie Vanessa but even then, they’re either under-utilised and we don’t know much about them, or their stories aren’t finished yet so it’s hard to comment on them.
Second of all, adding onto the point of characters being under-utilised, where was Cassidy for the whole film? She is the one of the most important spirits of the entire franchise and in the film, he is the one to communicate with Mike but he’s never part of the group. Same with Fritz honestly, those two are excluded for seemingly no reason but Cassidy wasn’t even there for William’s death. Sure, he stood in the doorway in the movie but in the games, she was directly responsible for springlocking him and they couldn’t even let her have that, they gave it to the cupcake.
And third of all, why the fuck did she try to kill Abby? I get that the movie had the whole plot point of the spirits not knowing William had killed them but even then, Cassidy is an incredibly vengeful spirit. She knows what’s it like to have her life ripped away from her so carelessly and cruelly and she’s yet a-fucking-okay with trying to springlock Abby. Just comparing movie Cassidy to game Cassidy shows just how awful movie Cassidy’s character writing is.
Cassidy shows up, he talks with Mike and says he’s going to kill his sister, shows up at Abby’s house, kills her aunt, lures her to the restaurant, attempts to springlock her which is just an agonising death, isn’t there for killing William and just stares at him.
Now if we compare this to the Cassidy in the games, she was most likely killed via springlock failure caused by William, yet still tried to help his family. She actively spoke with the Crying Child and Michael, showing she’s not just blinded by revenge, she was a genuinely kind person. Her being the one to springlock William makes so much sense narratively because it was the same way he killed her, and makes the moment so much more impactful. From then, she helps to put the Crying Child to rest and presumably the rest of the Missing Children, in some theories about the lore, she even communicated with Henry and helped him. And of course, she is the one who sets up UCN to torture her killer, making him live through every mistake of his life. But this doesn’t allow her to rest, or anyone else and we can interpret that she let him go due to the story, ‘The Man in Room 1280,’ where William’s corpse explodes, implying he was set free and the cutscene where Cassidy faded into the dark. AND EVEN THEN, the Princess from Princess Quest is called ‘Cassidy’ in the files, showing that she is still here and trying to help Vanessa because she is a good person.
Movie Cassidy is none of these things and only served to make Cassidy even more unknown as a character. She is so misused by the games, by the franchise and deserves better because she is my favourite and deserves a proper character after everything she has done.
Also obviously, don’t send hate to the actor of movie Cassidy, he’s like nine

I'm finally to a point where im happy with ALL of my animorphs playlists so im making a new pinned post with all of them:
They are all (except one) in the vicinity of an hours length bc i made these to share and i feel like you should be able to listen to any of these in a single sitting, two tops. I feel like you'll be able to tell who's who but I'll provide brief (ish) explanations under the cut just in case you care
While there are six playlists above there is not one for Ax. This is because while Ax appreciates many things about human culture he canonically dislikes music and also I can't even begin to fathom what he would listen to if he did
Meanwhile, Rachel has two playlists. This is because she is my favorite character and I think about her most often. One of her playlists "the original nike girl" breaks my "in the vicinity of an hour" promise but it's also more vibes based than any of the other playlists and the only one that's meant to be listened to on shuffle.
Her other playlist "Dirty Work" is based around my understanding of Rachel's character arc: her death was pointed to in the opening pages of the series and the entire length of the series was an exercise in a whole hecking lot of people (crayak/Drode, Jake, David, Cassie & Marco to an extent, etc) gaslighting her about what kind of person she was so that we could all sit here and say "Oh bUt shE wOUldN't bE aBLe To fUNcTioN WitHOuT tHe wAr" which to be clear is *not more true of her than any of the rest of them*. Yes I will die mad about this.
In Marco's playlist "RUTHLESS" my idea was really to challenge the idea that he coped with the end of the war better than the rest of them. Like, just because his coping mechanisms are higher-functioning than Jake's or Tobias' does not mean he's doing well. The entire series Marco acts like he's fine with the stress of the war and the *whole thing* with his mom but he is pretty clearly never for a single second fine, and personally I don't think that would be any different after the war. And I think I really managed to convey that with the frenetic tempo of this playlist so im really stinking proud of it
Cassie's playlist "to save some lives" has Americana/bluegrass/gospel/folksy vibes and I managed to incorporate a lyrical motif across several songs of going to a body of water and drawing from it until it was dry which convinced me of an interpretation of Cassie's character and role on the team being (what the other animorphs see as) a bottomless resource of justification for their actions which we see when Jake demands she justify creating the auxiliarymorphs in 50 and she finally has to say "okay. Then it's wrong. But we're going to do it anyway" and how that energy might carry her as the only survivor of the war
Jake's playlist "Brother Against Brother" is part of my ongoing campaign to rewrite the beaver book bc CIVIL WAR IMAGERY IS PARTICULARLY SALIENT TO JAKE FOR A FREAKING REASON. Ahem. But I am fixated on how personal and immediate the stakes of the war are for Jake specifically because he literally shares a roof with the enemy.
And finally we come to Tobias' playlist "A Kind of Freedom" which gestures at my understanding of Tobias as someone who wants to be happy at the same time he as he wants to wallow. he wants to sit in his sadness. and he does. And I am not judging him here because I was the exact same way when I was his age (which makes his books very hard to reread now) because he, unlike me, was not afforded the chance to grow up and learn what it felt like not sit in his sadness. Anyways yada yada yada there's a reason he didn't answer when the Ellimist asked him if he was happy.
Anyway, if anyone's read all this, I hope you enjoy these playlists as well!

5 things asks - Sanctuary and Stargate
Thanks so much for the ask! ❤️
send me a tv show/book/fandom and i’ll say the top 5 things i’d change about it
Stargate (I'm going to include a follow up movie here, because I got another ask)
5. Continuum didn't exist. There was no *real* point to it. I understand tying up the Ba'al storyline, but it became all about Mitchell. I especially hated the end, where we see the guys together, but not the girls, and then the last shot was Mitchell with his grandfather (think it was his grandfather? Can't remember). No. Uh-uh. You're finishing your storyline after ten seasons and two movies, you include everyone not just goddamn Cameron Mitchell.
4. Cassie would be more prominent. She needed to be in there more. Even if it was just more liberally mentioned by the members of SG-1. They all obviously had very good bonds with her, but she disappeared from the general storyline and only Sam was shown to be all that concerned about her after Janet died. She was great (especially for the team) and she was nudged to the side.
3. Mitchell did not become leader of SG-1. Sam was done dirty with that appointment (by extension I think Amanda Tapping also was). She had been there for eight years, was Jack's second-in-command, then Mitchell just waltzed in and whined his way into command and guilted everyone to come back. All he did to 'deserve' SG-1 was crash a plane. I would have appreciated him becoming Sam's second-in-command much more and I think it would have been better friendship if she'd been teaching him rather than following.
2. Janet. Fraiser. Lived. I hated her death. It was dramatic and I can kind of see why they went there, but no!!! They did not need to! She needed to live for so many reasons. Not only was she an awesome character in her own right, Cassie was orphaned again. Janet deserved so much better and they got rid of her character for drama reasons.
1. Sam and Jack got together in canon! I know that producers and such have said that they did after Threads, but I really would have liked to see them together in the show or one of the movies. All that build up and nothing to show for it. Such a disappointment. They even cut a scene where Sam eluded to it in Atlantis. They deserved a happy ending, at least a mention of it.
Sanctuary, Other than a Fifth Season (no numbered order, because they're interchangeable)
More Sally! I love Sally and I feel she should have been in the show more, because I think it was pretty obvious she and Helen were very good friends. She's been around the Sanctuary for an undisclosed amount of time, and has been there while everyone else has, so she knows them all, probably pretty well. Plus, mer are very cool.
More family dynamic between Helen, Biggie, Henry, and Ashley. They were a family long before Will, Kate, and anyone else showed up. We didn't really see the family dynamic between the four of them. Helen and Biggie raised two children together. Henry and Ashley were obviously siblings. There needed to be more.
More flashbacks of the Five. I LOVE the Five and there's so much untapped potential with them. James died in the second episode he was in and Nigel was hardly in there at all. But they cared about and loved each other and had adventures beyond the Source blood and the Ripper. We needed to see more of all that.
Less Will being an ass. I don't hate Will, but Season 4 did such a number on his character. There was no reason for him to be such an ass in Fugue about the situation. Then The Depths made it even worse. He needed to be nicer to Helen, especially after everything she did for him. He needed to be nicer.
Ended things with Druitt differently. I felt it was a complete turnaround on him to have him want to go to the past so he could be with Helen. I mean, he probably wouldn't have wanted to be the Ripper and staying with Helen would have been a result of that. I'm all for Teslen, but they didn't need to end things with John the way they did.
Had to think hard on these, but enjoyed really picking apart my views! Thanks for asking! ❤️

Mortal Kombat 11: Civil War
A Mortal Kombat Multi-Chapter Fanfiction
Pairings: Mileena/Scorpion || Hanzo Hasashi, Kitana/SubZero || Kuai Liang (implied), Sonya Blade/Erron Black
Rating: M (18+)
(canon-typical violence, implied sexual content, strong language, cannibalism, graphic depictions of blood, gore, and death)
Originally Written In: 2015
Notes: I wrote this a very long time ago, before MK11 came out... This has literally nothing to do with the canon MK11 lore and follows directly after the events of MKX. Basically, if I worked at Netherrealm Studios, this is what MK11 would look like.
<- Prologue || Chapter 1 || Chapter 2 ->
Tumblr media
When Cassandra Cage walked into her dad's house three days before Christmas, she did not expect to see him jumping on the couch and shouting at the tv. She stepped inside cautiously and stared at the minefield of garbage that lay before her, a jaw dropping amount of pizza and buffalo chicken wings covering the majority. After navigating through most of the garbage, Cassie swiftly took her phone out and took a short video so when she visited him in a mental hospital, she would have proof of his insanity. She uploaded it to Facebook and set her bag right on top of a box of pizza. "Shit!" She exclaimed as she tried to remove the oily pizza from her sports bag.

Chapter 1 ~ Cassie Cage
It was only then that Johnny Cage turned from his game and saw his daughter. "Well, welcome home kiddo!" Johnny said as he climbed over the couch to give his daughter a hug.
Cassie pushed him away and said, "Seriously dad! I was only gone for two days and the house is already full of a bunch of crap!" Cassie lifted up her shoe to show him the pepsi and buffalo sauce already covering it.
Johnny lightly punched her in the shoulder and said with a laugh, "Its game day, Cassie! On game day, you unlock your inner manwolf and turn your living room into a messy, dirty man cave! And, nobody cares cause it's GAME DAY!" He hollered the last part as he vaulted over the couch to watch the game. Cassie watched with disgust as her father turned back into a teenager. "Come on, watch the game! I think you'll enjoy it!" Johnny said as he pulled Cassie over the couch and dumped her right next to him. Cassie sighed loudly as she curled her feet under her and got out her phone.
Johnny took one look at Cassie's phone and chucked it at the wall. Cassie watched as her life smashed into a million pieces. "Jesus dad!" Cassie lemented as she crossed her arms. "Was that nessaray?!"
Johnny waved a hand in her direction. "I'll get you another phone. Just watch the game!," He said with what sounded a little like a whine in his voice. Cassie thought about it. 'It's not that I don't like football,' She thought to herself. 'It's just as boring as hell.' She let out another sigh.
"Fine dad, but just because you were giving me the sad dad eyes."
Johnny fist pumped the air. "There's a good girl!" He said as he slapped her on the back. Cassie unfolded her arms as she said, "So who do we want to win?"
"We want the Patriots to win." Johnny said without removing his eyes from the tv.
Cassie nodded and felt immediately stupid after saying, "And what color are they wearing?" This time Johnny looked up.
+++
"Omg, do you remember when Jacquinn first joined the force and Jax broke your jaw because he thought you had recruited her?" Cassie asked as she picked another card. The game had finished nearly an hour ago and now, Cassie was whoopin' Johnny's ass in a game of Scat. It was 11 to 4 and her father was not happy about it.
"Of course I do! I still get the migraines!" Johnny grumbled as he picked another card. Cassie knocked hard on the table, just to push her father's buttons a little. It worked perfectly. Johnny through his hand into the air and yelled, "I got to go once and you're already knocking?! Thats bullshit!" Cassie smiled and put her feet on the table.
"When your done complaining, it's your turn," Cassie said as she examined her nails. She put her hand on the table, a queen, a jack, and a king. Johnny sat down and gathered up his cards quickly as Cassie asked, "Let me guess. You have a 2, a jack, and a 8, right?" Johnny froze and looked at her with curiousness in his eyes.
"And how would you know that?" He asked as he picked another card.
Cassie shrugged. "All I did was pre shuffle the cards so you got all the crappy ones and I got all the good ones." Johnny stared at her for a long time and then burst into guffaws. Cassie also giggled like a little girl who fooled her parents… again.
As Johnny struggled to breathe, he choked out, "Next time I go to Vegas, you're coming with!" Cassie snorted. Johnny's phone then began to ring. He picked it up, looked at the caller ID, rolled his eyes, and answered with a, "Hey Sonya! What's up?" Cassie's giggles died on her tongue as she began to put the cards away. 'Why does mom always have to ruin everything I do for fun with dad?' Cassie thought sourly as she put the cards neatly in the middle of the table. She stared at them for a long time, sadness creeping into her chest. She was interrupted by her father pressing the end number and pushing his chair away from the table, actually moving the table with it. Cassie looked up as Johnny started speed cleaning, which consisted of shoving the food under the couch and the crumbs along with it. Cassie got of her chair and walked over to her father saying, "Whoa dad. If we're going to clean, we might as well do it right." She tried to remove one of the pizza boxes from under the couch, but Johnny stopped her.
"Wait. She's… she's coming HERE," Cassie asked as she began to pick up the empty bottle of Pepsi on the floor.
"Your mother is coming in 15 minutes to take us... somewhere," Johnny said as continued to clean. Cassie's heart almost stopped and she got sick feeling in her stomach.
Johnny nodded as he said, "Go get changed." Cassie charged through the living room to the winding, iron staircase and took two steps at a time to the top. She slammed into her door, almost taking it clean of it's hinges. Her room was painted a sky blue color and was pretty small considering Johnny Cage lived in a mansion. She ripped open her closet and grabbed her sergeant uniform. She changed out her yoga pants and white sweatshirt into the more uncomfortable grey uniform, which she hadn't worn since Shinnok. It was a pretty tight fit, but she got it on after lots of tugging on her underside. She looked at herself in the mirror and found herself smiling. 'An adventure,' she thought as she pulled on her kombat boots and yellow biker gloves. She grabbed her sunglasses and ran back to the iron stairs and slid down the railing. Her father was still cleaning like a madman, pushing things under couch and under the rug. " The living room looks almost okay," Cassie said as she picked up an empty pizza box and threw it in the trash. Johnny looked up and pushed the broom into her hands. "Finish 'cleaning' while I go change," Johnny called as he ran up the stairs towards his bedroom. "Okay dad," Cassie said quietly as she swept the remainder of the food under the couch. The living room looked pretty good, considering the pigsta it was earlier. She looked out the glass sliding doors, into the countryside. 'So peaceful,' She thought as she closed her eyes and leaned on the broom. The peace was shattered by a knock on the door.

ROXANA (Chapter 69)
“In the end, this is what the Agriche have come to.”
Cassis stepped into a sticky puddle of blood saturating the carpet, and loomed over Lanche Agriche. “It’s been three years since we’ve met face-to-face like this.” His voice rang low in the quiet.
Lanche, who was leaning against the wall, shuddered as Cassis moved towards him. “You guys– guh!– how did this happen…” As soon as he opened his mouth, the blood that had accumulated in his stomach leapt out. Cassis regarded this scene coldly.
“I’m sure you’re wondering how I’m able to appear before your eyes like this…” Lanche’s gaze fell to Cassis’ sword as it created a new pool at its owner’s feet. “Are you curious?”
Lanche looked up again to face eerie golden eyes, and wondered how many people Cassis had killed with such a sharp blade and such unaffected eyes. “You’re not a fake… Then Roxana– that bitch…”
It occurred to him then that Roxana had tricked him again. Unfortunately, this realization came too late; the situation had already spiralled out of controlled, just like the deadly fire that was consuming the Agriche house.
“Lanche Agriche.” A faint voice fluttered like a spell over Lanche. “I’m sure you’ve been unaware, but I’ve been watching you this whole time.”
“During that time, you have squandered countless opportunities for good and committed countless evils.” Cassis studied Lanche with the objective and unfeeling eyes of a judge, as if deciding on an appropriate punishment.
Lanche, on the other hand, was urgently searching for an escape route. Despite having been knocked back by Cassis and heavily injured by Dion, he was still able to move.
‘Damn, if only Sierra had listened to me,’ he thought, ‘I would’ve been able to get out of here.’ Lanche would never die by Cassis’ hand quietly.
“I have you to thank, really.” Cassis moved closer. “If not for your evil nature, I would be feeling more hesitant about this.”
Cassis lunged forward, bringing his sword down on Lanche’s arm. At the same time, Lanche tried to drive his broken blade into Cassis’ heart, but in vain. He ignored his severed hand, lying on the ground, and attempted to make a break for it, only for Cassis to drive his sword into Lanche’s leg.
“AHHH!”
“Don’t waste your time on useless acts like this.” Despite Lanche’s struggling, the blade had become rooted in the ground.
“Lanche Agriche. Aren’t you curious as to what I’m going to do to you now?” Cassis raised his leg and kicked Lanche to the ground.
“When I saw the degree of debauchery you engaged- guiltlessly, I might add- I knew it would be too merciful if I let you escape with a quick and painless death.”
Lanche responded with a bloodshot glare. “Fuck… I would rather commit suicide than die by a dirty Pedelian hand.” He drove his fist into his chest, clawing at and reopening his wound.
However, when he met Cassis’ gaze again, he was struck by how instinctively the hairs on his neck had begun rising.
“This… what…?”
“Didn’t I tell you not to waste your time on useless acts?”
When Lanche looked down, he saw that the wound in his heart had begun healing itself. Yet, the texture of his wound still remained.
“I never thought of you as such a determined person,” Cassis murmured. “Was I that scary?”
Cold sweat began pooling on Lanche’s back. A man with such heartless eyes would never kill him so easily.
“Lanche Agriche… I can save you time and time again. Any time I want.” Never mind his tone, the implications of Cassis’ words were more terrifying to Lanche.
“Which means I can also kill you any time I want.”
Could Lanche imagine a worse fate than this? He had always- always, been the predator. But now, for the first time in his life, he felt like a small, helpless prey trapped in a corner.
This was Cassis’ resolve- the mission he had set himself the moment he left the Agriche mansion three years ago.
A cold draft shook the row of candle flames lining the walls. “Lanche Agriche.” Cassis, half swallowed by a the shadow cast over the mansion’s interior, appeared like a demonic lion.
“I will take your life.”
* * *
“Retreat,” Cassis ordered Isidor.
“Understood, Captain.”
Some time had passed since his confrontation with Lanche. The Pedelian knights had achieved their purpose and now had nothing more to do in the Agriche mansion.
And yet… a red butterfly appeared within Cassis’ line of sight, beckoning him to look up at the sky- at the red dots scattered above him.
“Isidor, leave without me. I’ll catch up later.”
“… Yes? Understood.”
Cassis’ gaze followed the trail of red butterflies. There was someone he had to look for before the night escaped him.

Dd you like it? I hated chot because that death was done so dirty no funeral no mourning no reaction from his parents nothing
Ok, I'm gonna tag this as spoilers, just because you added that the death was a he (since we all knew Cassie would kill a MC) if you are reading this and haven't finished the book, I suggest you stop reading rn, because you're about to get spoiled:
I LOVED chot (I gave it 5 out of 5 stars) I loved the character development we see with all of the characters, we can just see how much they've grown. I thought Thomastair was done PERFECTLY, and out of all of the characters, I think their story was the best; it was consistently amazing and I'm super satisfied with them. I liked Anna so much better than COI (thank GOD). Jordelia didn't disappoint, Matthew's arc— though, I do feel it's incomplete and that cassie is gonna write a series of novellas on him (!!!!)— was nice to read.
Now, I'm just gonna skip to what you really want me to answer:
Did I think Kit's death was necessary? No, but I understand why she did it. What made me angry was exactly want you said: I feel like his death was brushed over, and that we needed closure that Cassie only partially gave us. The final Gracetopher scene was amazing, but we needed to see more of his family. We needed to see Cecily and Gabriel and their reactions because, yes, this series isn't about them, but that doesn't mean that most of the fandom cares deeply about them. Or, at least, I care deeply enough about them that I want to see how they took the news. I think we only ever got about three scenes in the entire TSC where Christopher is interacting with his parents, so we didn't really get a feel for their dynamic as much, and a scene, where we can see just how much Gabrily loved Kit, would have had us all bawling. We got to see a little of it in Chog, after he's attacked by that demon I can't remember the name of and I think we were missing that. And yeah, cassie sort of brushed over Barbara's death too, but this is different because we have been with Christopher for three entire books. We all care about him, and I think he deserved wayy more than a single mention in grief.
That being said, there were many things about Chot that I thought were absolutely perfect (I'll be posting them shortly), it's only this that kills me

animorphs book 53 (the answer) #thoughts
i cannot even begin to describe the full body chill i just had reading the words "my name is Jake Berenson"
AHHH oh my god conformation of the length of the war!! they're 16!! BABIES!!
i know my reviews must seem xD random and hyperbolic but I promise I just feel this strongly about animorphs. i am capslock screaming every time I read one
i often think about how lonely it must be to be toby. no one truly understands her :(
I know it's inevitable given the structure of the story but ugh, man, I hate to see the military involved.
deeply shaken by the knowledge that Jake is now 6 feet tall. I'm trying to so hard to make my brain accept that he's 16 now. I know he's canonically big/tall for his age but my god, childhood really is over :(
good god this is a mess. this taxxon slaughter is ugly but god. what's the alternative?
OMG ARBRON???
never ever expected to see him again! holy shit!!
a taxxon alliance. holy shit. never expected that

Chapter 31
After being abruptly transferred to the BAU at what she suspects was Gideon's request, Cassie Boann struggles to find her footing. Shy and solitary by nature, the transition is made all the more difficult when Dr. Spencer Reid seems to take an almost immediate dislike to her. Unfortunately for them both, their respective areas of expertise leave them paired off more often than not. But when Cassie's past literally starts hunting her, Spencer is forced to consider that he might, in fact, not hate her at all.
Quite the opposite, actually.

She had a name: Hadeon Lyvychko.
A name, and not much else.
She had fresh samples being set to the Smithsonian, a box of police reports, and a pounding headache from not sleeping for 34 hours.
But it was still a name.
She watched as the tarmac grew closer, the familiar swooping sensation in her stomach as the wheels landed on pavement.
All she wanted to do was either sleep for four days or find a back alley doctor willing to give her an IV drip of caffeine so she could keep working and working until something made sense, until she had an answer. Somehow both seemed entirely nauseating.
She pulled her bag from the overhead compartment, swinging it over her shoulder. She still had to find a new place on top of everything else—and she doubted she’d get as lucky as she had with her current sublet. She’d probably end up somewhere blocks off the Green Line again. Though she was sure it’d be cheaper than what she was currently paying. Probably by a lot.
She stepped out of the gate and turned to dig into her bag for her Metro card. It’d be less of a fuss to take the Blue Line than finding a cab. And she could read on the train without getting sick—
“Cass! Over here!”
She looked up to see Spencer waving at her. She couldn’t help the smile that curved her lips or the flush that gathered high in her cheeks as she jogged over to meet him.
“What are you—aren’t you supposed to be at work?”
“Hey, hello, I missed you too,” he said, hesitating a moment before pulling her into a one-armed hug, “Hotch let me out early to pick you up on the condition I don’t let you back in the office until at least Monday.”
Cassie hugged him back, too tight, burying her face in his jacket. She spent a moment just breathing in his familiar scent and feeling his arm around her. She knew it was out of character but at that moment she just wanted to be held.
“Are you alright?”
She didn’t know how to respond. How could she explain the rollercoaster of the last three days, of digging up her grandfather, who she learned was an abusive prick, and picking the shards of bones that would be sent back to the lab for testing? Of seeing, for the first time, the places that had been the backdrop of her mother’s young life.  Of finally finding that elusive lead, a name.
And that name being the half-uncle she’d never known existed.
That she did, perhaps, still have some family out there, family that had ensured that she had no one else.
That she grew up alone and terrified.
She took a step back, forcing a smile. “Yeah, sorry. Just glad to be back.”
She could feel him searching her face, feel him profiling her behavior and she dropped her gaze to the dirty linoleum of the floor, muttering something about making sure her bag didn’t get lost before not-quite-running towards baggage claim.
---
Spencer had insisted on carrying her luggage to the car, despite her protests. She followed him, feeling awkward with nothing to do.
Cassie paused outside the passenger door of Spencer’s car, looking at the plain white box tied with a wide purple bow that sat on the seat.
“Open it,” he said, sounding almost nervous.
She glanced up at him, brows furrowed, before untying the bow and opening the box. Inside was a spiral-bound soft cover book, the front page carefully lamented.
Identifying Victims of Serial Murder through Partial Skeletal Remains
By Cassandra Boann, BS, MS, MSc
“I know that you said that you didn’t have time to finish it and that Voron’kiv was more important, but I wanted you to have the option to still submit. It’s—it’s all yours, all I did was make some grammatical edits and there were a couple of calculations that were a bit off that I fixed. I just—“ he checked his watch, “there’s still two hours until the deadline, if you wanted to submit it.”
She just stared at the book he’d made her, trying to stop her hands from shaking. She knew she was crying, knew she should reach up and wipe away the tears before Spencer noticed, but she couldn’t stop staring at the book in her hands.
Spencer barely even used his computer at work. He hadn’t had the original file, he’d re-typed the whole thing, all three-hundred-odd pages.
“I’m sorry, it was probably overstepping, I just—“
She wrapped her arms around him. “Thank you. Thank you. This—this is one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me.”
Spencer stiffened for a second under her touch before hugging her back, pressing his face into her hair.
“Do you want to go drop it off?” He asked, voice slightly muffled by her hair. She nodded, not trusting herself to speak. She just smiled, biting her lip as she brushed the tears from her cheeks.
---
Spencer glanced to the passenger seat where Cassie was still staring at the book he’d made out of her dissertation, a small smile curving her lips. She’d tied the ribbon to the top handle of her backpack, something that he was sure Penelope would notice and tease him for, considering she’d helped him pick it out.
Beneath the smile, though, there was something darker. A new weight on her shoulders, one he’d noticed the moment she’d stepped off the plane.
He wondered what she’d found in Voron’kiv that had left such deep shadows under her eyes, like bruises, what weight had bowed her shoulders. He didn’t know whether it was better to bring it up or let it be. On one hand, acknowledging it could be validating and help her to not have to deal with whatever it was alone and on the other—he knew what it felt like for people to try and get you to open up before you were ready. How invasive it felt.
He didn’t want to make anything worse, especially now that she’d just gotten back. He’d missed her, enough that everyone had noticed at work. He was half sure it was the reason Hotch had come down to his desk after lunch to tell him to go pick up Cassie and make sure she got home safe. He’d been less than pleased once he found out from Gideon that Cassie’s idea of ‘vacation days’ was flying halfway across the world to follow a lead on a cold case she was barely officially assigned to.
It was easier than he thought to find street parking, though he hated every second it took to parallel park on the uneven pavement. From there it was only a short walk to the Museum of Natural History and the side door that lead to Cassie’s lab.
The halls were tiled, the floors the same off-white linoleum of seemingly all government building built in the 1970s. But the rooms off the halls were filled with whirring machines, some he recognized and some he didn’t, enameled examination tables, and in one room a tank filled with hundreds of beetles.
“They’re dermestid beetles. They eat away the remaining flesh on remains without compromising the integrity of the bones.”
“Gross,” Spencer replied flatly, trying not to look too hard at what else might be in the tank. Cassie just giggled, the sound infuriatingly adorable, especially in regards to flesh-eating beetles.
She lead him through a maze of hallways, ending in a large room filled with rows and rows of carefully labeled storage boxes.
“This is the Unidentified Collection. I do most of my work for Dr. Garvey here, and some for the Bureau too, though not as much now that I’m with the BAU. He should be around here somewhere,” she said, glancing down the long rows of shelves.
Dr Garvey was seated at a wooden desk in the back, looking over a stack of paperwork. He looked much the same as the last time, with his three piece tweed suit and puff of white hair, a pair of gold-rimmed glasses perched on the tip of his nose.
He stood back and watched as she went up to Dr. Garvey to hand him the manuscript, as the little old man let out a shout and wrapped her in a hug as he took it.
“Ooooh, finally! Finally Cassandra! Oh, you had me going this time, I must admit! Not that I don’t want to see you back in the lab next semester, but I’m much happier to welcome you back as Dr. Boann.”
“I—I think Spence—Dr. Reid took your words to heart last time, because he helped me finish it. I couldn’t have done it without him.”
Dr. Garvey whipped around to face him, his face lighting up. “Dr. Reid! I didn’t even see you there, my apologies!”
“She’s being far too modest. All I did was check the grammar and print it.”
Dr. Garvey just beamed at him before turning back to Cassie.
“This calls for a celebration! I’m taking the pair of you out for dinner.”
“No-no-no-no-no, thank you, but I—we can’t. I just got off a plane and Spencer—“
“I’m free,” he said, a smile playing on his lips. “All weekend.”
Cassie glared at him which only made Dr. Garvey laugh, clapping her on the back.
“Ooh, I like him, Cassandra, I think he’s a keeper! How about Sunday then? That’ll give you a day to get rid of your jet lag. There’s this wonderful fusion restaurant in Georgetown and it’s got a very large vegetarian menu so I know you’ll be able to find something you’ll like. I’ll make a reservation and email you, alright?”
“You really don’t have to—“
“I want to. Now Dr. Reid, I’m counting on you to get her home safe and make sure she rests and I’ll see you both Sunday.”

Dean was here in Helena following up on a case that sounded suspiciously Wendigo-like. This was a bit too far west for that type of thing, like Sam had insisted, but it couldn’t be ruled out. Three campers had gone missing in the span of two weeks. The media chalked it up to a possible serial killer in the area; the locals chalked it up to anything ranging from the natural wildlife, to California tourists not knowing what they were doing and stepping somewhere they shouldn’t, to Bigfoot going on a killing spree. There were even a few who floated the theory of possible alien abductions. As for law enforcement, well, Dean would love to know what theory they had if only they had taken on the case. Since the media was paying close attention and coming up with their own plausible explanation for the disappearances, local law enforcement at least made a good show of intending to investigate the matter further. But one visit to the city’s precinct informed Dean that they had a huge caseload that they were struggling to handle. And they were already citing this as a missing person’s case after performing a search in the area where these people were last seen (it made Dean’s ears perk up when he heard it was all in the same location) that nothing came of so now it was being processed as such. Which meant the case was about to be dead in the water as the sergeant had told him. And did Dean know how many people went missing in Montana a year? A huge-ass amount.
His jaw had tightened at the older man’s attitude which had been present since he walked in the door but he kept himself in check, intent on getting the information he needed. How many times had he and Sam said the same thing, especially in their line of work? Just because people go missing didn’t mean you stopped looking for them. They went missing for a reason. Reminding himself that this more than likely overpaid idiot who shot him a glare over the rim of his station-issued coffee mug had no idea of the real dangers that lay out there in the dark, Dean continued his line of questioning. By the end of the conversation, Sergeant Dick (as Dean had decided to call him) had told him that most likely these three tourists did something they shouldn’t have and they paid for their mistake, which meant no bodies would be found. And if they somehow were, they would just be a pile of bones, the cause of death unable to be determined. Serial killer? A bunch of bullshit floated by the liberal media for views. More like a grizzly’s territory got encroached on. That’s what happens when you poke the bear. Dean heard the underlying threat in the words, gritted his teeth, and decided to let it go for now. If he pushed too hard, he had a feeling this guy would absolutely enjoy putting him in cuffs and would make sure the charges of impersonating a Federal agent would stick. He didn’t need that kind of hassle. Instead, he played ball and asked to see the files of the cases, just to rule out any need for the FBI to get involved. The sergeant glowered at him but acquiesced, ensuring Dean had access but still insisting that his boys were handling things just fine. Dean gave him his most charming smile and assured the man that he was certain they were, but he had to tell his superior he at least glanced at the paperwork if he knew what he meant. Grumbling under his breath about real officers of the law who did all the dirty work versus suits who sat on their asses in their offices, the sergeant picked up his phone and requested the files be brought to his office.
Dean expected a box to be brought up since there were three people so far (and there were most likely others that had disappeared before them), but instead, he just got one file folder. Glancing up at the older man in question, the latter gave him a shark-like smile and insisted that was everything. Before Dean could ask, Sergeant Dick then told him that one of the families had hired a local PI who might have more info. Maybe Dean could go bother her with any further questions he had. He wrote down the name on a slip of paper he pushed Dean’s way and gave him a cursory nod before putting his phone to his ear and barking out orders to whoever was on the other end of the line, effectively dismissing Dean.
The hunter ground his teeth together but left the office, intent on looking over the meager files before heading out in search of this PI. Dean hated private investigators most of the time. They were actually more probing than law enforcement could be and they could become a problem a lot quicker than any officer or detective. They didn’t have the caseloads that local precincts had, they had a lot of similar resources, and they had the focus and determination to get the job done as well as the incentive to get paid. In his line of work, they were a lot harder to throw off the scent. But in this particular case, he just hoped whoever this person was had a hell of a lot more information than Helena PD’s finest did.
Dean glanced in his rearview mirror, adjusting his tie and checking his teeth. Giving himself a nod when all appeared as it should be, he got out of his beloved Baby and shut the door. He pulled a familiar slip of paper out of his pocket and stared down at Sergeant Dick’s messy scrawl from earlier: Cassie Dewell. After a quick search on his phone earlier, he had found that she had an office right here in town. He balled up the paper and threw it out as he approached the building her office sat in. Here goes nothing.
He pulled the door open and stepped inside, not seeing anyone right away but hearing music coming from somewhere in the back. If he had to guess, it sounded like someone was rocking out to the Rolling Stones. Interesting choice. His brows furrowed as he moved deeper inside, mildly impressed at his surroundings. It was obvious this had been a bank at one point and it had been repurposed to host a private investigator’s office. Huh, not bad. Walking through an archway, his eyes settled on an older woman behind a desk to his right, smiling pleasantly.
“Hello there. Welcome to Dewell and Hoyt. How can I help you?”
The lady looked familiar and Dean really hoped it was from somewhere in passing when he and Sam had been at Rufus’ cabin in Whitefish years ago, and not because of anything else. For now, though, he plastered on an amiable smile and a professional demeanor. “I sure hope so.” He pulled his badge from the pocket in his suit jacket and held it out for the woman to see. “Agent Page, FBI. I’m here to see Cassie Dewell regarding the missing persons case of Alexandra Martin.” He slipped his badge back into his pocket before she could really focus on it. “I was told by Sergeant Hansen at Helena PD that she was hired by the family to locate their daughter.”
Movement out of the corner of his eye caught his attention. He glanced up to see a young attractive woman in an office behind a glass window, dancing and singing along to the song playing as she moved around, shuffling papers and opening folders. He nearly smirked at the sight. Someone was sure enjoying themselves. He watched as she tossed a folder into a box beside her and opened another, smoothly moving her hips to the beat. Dean didn’t know if this was the woman he was here to speak to but man he sure hoped she was. He decided right then and there that even if she wasn’t, he’d be talking to her before he left. She looked like a woman who knew how to have fun, to enjoy herself, and damn if that didn’t spark his interest. After his experience at the precinct, it might be nice to associate with a local that was a little more…friendly.
“Oh, sure.” The other woman got to her feet, pulling him out of his thoughts. “I’ll go get her.”
Dean nodded. “Thanks.”
“Just a moment.” He watched as she made her way into the very room that had captured his interest and started speaking with the woman inside. He smiled to himself when he realized that the younger woman was indeed the private investigator he would be dealing with, and turned to see a massive board mapping out the details of all three missing persons. “Now that’s what I’m talking about,” he muttered as he moved closer to take a better look.
The music had been turned off and he glanced back at the office to see both women still in conversation. He quickly pulled out his phone, took some pictures that he intended to study further a little later, and slipped it back into his pocket. From the looks of things, the PI already had everything traced out as far as the location went. This was encouraging; this would save him some time on putting everything together.
“So my assistant tells me you’re here to talk about Alexandra Martin.”
He spun around to see the younger woman from before, standing a few feet away, sharply eyeing him in proximity to her case board. And her…well, Dean liked everything that he saw. From her curly hair to her dark brown eyes to her soft-looking lips to her well-fitted blue turtleneck to her even more well-fitting jeans. She was gorgeous. So gorgeous that he nearly forgot how to speak for a moment. This woman was the one helmed as one of the top PI’s in the county?
She was giving him an expectant look and that jolted him out of his momentary shock. “I am. Agent Page, FBI.” He held out a hand and she tentatively shook it. Dean did his best to ignore the feeling of the soft skin against his fingers and remain professional.
“Cassie Dewell. Page, was it?”
He nodded and slipped his hands into his pockets once she released him. “Yeah.”
She crossed her arms. “Got a number for your home office so we can make sure you are who you say you are, Agent Page?”
Her forwardness caught him a little off guard. She arched a brow over at him expectantly and he chuckled, realizing he should have expected this. Typical PI; always more nosy than the cops and with the time to back it up. “Sure. Can’t be too careful, right?” He handed her the card from inside his wallet which she then handed to her assistant. Dean hoped to hell that Sam would answer the phone and not be too busy sucking face with Eileen all around the bunker or…other things. He nearly smirked at the thought; he just hoped they’d stay out of his room.
While the older woman made the call, Cassie tilted her head and studied him. “I’m surprised this case caught Federal interest. Last I heard, local law enforcement wasn’t jumping at the chance to continue investigating it and they relegated it to a missing persons case.”
Dean cleared his throat quietly. “Three people go missing inside of two weeks? That’s cause enough to take a look into it.”
“And with the media theorizing it might be a serial killer situation, it certainly helps to cover all the bases, doesn’t it?”
He couldn’t help but smile a little; he liked her. “We’re just dotting all our I’s and crossing our T’s. It doesn’t hurt to be thorough.”
“Uh huh.” Cassie didn’t seem too impressed and he didn’t blame her one bit.

Part 1: “Words of Affirmation” Destiel Quotes & Parallels
I’m sure someone’s done this before me and done it better, but I’m compiling a huge Destiel evidence docket for no reason. Anyone got any quotes to add?
Comments From Outside Characters
To Dean
Uriel: “He has this weakness. He likes you.” (4x10)
Balthazar: “You have me confused with the other angel. You know, the one in the dirty trench coat who’s in love with you.” (6x17)
Hester: “The first time Castiel laid a hand on you in Hell, he was lost.” (7x21)
Meg: “He was your boyfriend first.” (7x23)
Charlie: “What about Castiel? He seems helpful. And dreamy.” (8x20)
Marie: “Although we do explore the nature of Destiel in Act 2.” (10x5)
Sam: “Shouldn’t it be Deastiel?” He then goes on to tease Dean with “Sastiel” which Dean takes negatively. (10x5)
Dean: “This Cas is looking at me weird.” Sam: “So like the real Cas then.” (15x14)
To Castiel
Hannah: “We gave you our trust. Don’t lose it over one man.” (9x22)
Metatron: “His true weakness is revealed. He’s in love…with humanity.” (9x22)
Metatron: “Oh, that’s right. To save Dean Winchester. That was your goal, right? I mean, you draped yourself in the flag of heaven, but, ultimately, it was about saving one human, right?” (9x23)
Ishim: “I’m going to cure you of your human weakness [i.e. Dean]” (12x10)
The Empty: “I have tiptoed through all your little tulips. Your memories, your little feelings, yes. I know what you hate. I know who you love…There is nothing for you back there.” (13x4)
Demon: “I thought you were joined at the… (looks down) everything.” (14x01)
There are also several instances where other characters try to poke at insecurities regarding their relationship.
Naomi: “You're hoping Castiel will return to you. I admire your loyalty. I only wish he felt the same way.” (8x19)
Casifer: “There comes a time when every relationship has run its course.” (11x18)
Michael!Dean: “You only tolerate the angel because you think you owe him, because he ‘gripped you tight and raised you from Perdition.’ Or whatever.” (14x10)
Comments From Dean
To Cas
“There are two things I know for certain. One, Bert and Ernie are gay. And two, you are not going to die a virgin.” (5x03)
“So what? I’m Thelma and you’re Louise and we’re just going to hold hands and sail off this cliff together?” (5x03)
“You know what? Blow me, Cas.” (5x18)
“Cas, not for nothing, but the last time someone looked at me like that, I got laid.” (5x18)
“Look, I don’t need to feel like hell for failing you, okay? For failing you like I’ve failed every other godforsaken thing that I care about! I don’t need it!” (8x07)
“We need you. I need you.”
For more on this quote see the “We vs. I” section.
To Other Characters
Bobby: “I think maybe it’s time you made a call.” Dean: “Why does it always gotta be me that makes the call, huh? It’s not like Cas lives in my ass. The dude’s busy.” (Cas appears) Dean: “Get out of my ass.” Cas: “I was never in your… (head tilt)” (6x19)
“On my car…. He showed up naked… covered in bees.” (7x23)
While Cas suffered from some mental issues at the time, it seems somewhat significant that he sought Dean out under the circumstances, not Sam, etc.
“There’s things… people… feelings that I want to experience differently than I have before, or maybe even for the first time.” (10x16)
“My shy but devastatingly handsome friend here” (12x12)
“He came into my room and he played me.” (12x19)
“Let’s see. Crowley’s dead, Kelly’s dead, Cas is—Mom’s gone.” (13x01)
Dean’s inability to list Cas’s death singles him out as the most devastating of the losses.
“We’ve lost everything. And now you’re gonna bring him back.” (13x01)
While some people have heard this as “bring ‘em back, the Netflix captions and transcripts I have been able to find say “him.”
“And Cas bought it. And you know what it got him? It got him dead! Now you may be able to forget about that, but I can't!” (13x03)
“I have a family.” (In response to John Winchester lamenting Dean doesn’t have a wife and kids) (14x13)
Comments From Cas
To Dean
“I was getting too close to the humans in my charge. You. They feel I've begun to express emotions. The doorways to doubt.” (4x16)
“I’m hunted. I rebelled. And I did it—all of it—for you.” (5x02)
“I gave everything for you. And this is what you give to me.” (5x18)
“I do everything that you ask. I always come when you call.” (6x21)
“So you will bow down and profess your love unto me, your Lord.” (6x22)
Before taking on the role of God, Cas seemed very concerned with Dean’s forgiveness/acceptance/love. It is interesting that, as God, that was the first thing he asked for, turning from Sam (who had just stabbed him) to Dean to ask for love.
“Sam, and everyone you know, everyone you love, they could be long dead. Everyone except me.” (10x22)
“I love you. I love all of you.” (Arguably to the group, but the first “I love you” can be seen as Dean-specific, especially since it cuts to Dean after being said.) (12x12)
“You mean too much to me. To everything.” (12x9) (To Mary, Sam, and Dean. However, the camera immediately cuts to Dean specifically, even though he is in the back of the group).
“I’m your Huckleberry.” (13x06)
Cas love confession (15x18)
To Other Characters
“Dean and I do share a more profound bond.” (6x03)
“I won’t hurt Dean.” (8x17)
This is said as Castiel is breaking away from Naomi’s mind control—mind control she fostered specifically by having Cas kill a thousand versions of Dean. This implies she knows that Cas’s strongest loyalty is to Dean, not Sam, or humans in general.
“The point is that they [Dean & Sam] were here at all and you got to know them, you -- When they're gone, it will hurt, but that hurt will remind you of how much you loved them.” (14x14)
“You know, Dean, he... he feels things more acutely than any human I've ever known.” (15x13)
Other Comments
Reaper: “How do I start looking for this... Castiel?” Bartholomew: “I got one word for you. Winchester.”
Rowena: “An Angel of the Lord, shattered at the altar of Winchester.”
Use of We vs. I
In the crypt scene in Season 8, Dean tells Cas, “We need you.” This is not enough to stop Cas’s actions. When the language switches to “I need you,” Cas drops the angel blade.
We can clearly see that Dean tries to put up barriers about how he really feels about Cas in his use of “We.” For example, after showing the audience many scenes of Dean, not Sam, frantically trying to call Cas, we get the following lines:
“So not only were you ditching us, but you were also ignoring us?”
“With everything that's going on, you can't just go dark like that. We didn't know what happened to you. We were worried. That's not okay.”
It’s clear that these “we’s” are really “I’s”
In the alternate future presented in 15x9, Sam asks Dean, “What’s happened to you Dean… ever since…?” to which Dean responds, “Ever since what? We lost pretty much everyone we’ve ever cared about? Ever since the Mark made Cas go crazy and I had to bury him in a Malak box… ever since then?” While he acknowledges Sam’s losses as well, his switch to “I” in reference to Cas implies that Cas’s loss belongs especially to him.
(Mostly) Verbal Parallels to Other Couples
In 1x01 (start at 2:27), Dean pulls Sam away from a dead Jess in a direct parallel to how Sam pulls Dean away from Cas in 12x23
Following Jessica’s death, Sam keeps seeing glimpses of her as he and Dean travel around in the Impala. Dean does the same in Season 8 following his return from Purgatory without Cas.
David from “Bloodlines” (9x20) tells his love interest, “I was there. Where were you?” which is the same thing Dean says to Cas in “The Man Who Would Be King” (6x20)
When asking Dean whether he’s in love with Cassie, Dean gives a similar response to what he will say in 10x5 when asked about Destiel.
Destiel is paralleled with their counterparts from the Supernatural play who are “a couple in real life” (10x5)
Cain compares himself to Dean in Season 10. He describes the significant kills of his life (The Knights of Hell, his wife Collette, and his brother Abel) and tells Dean that he will follow his same pattern by killing the King of Hell Crowley, Castiel, then Sam. It is also mentioned that all Collette asked of Cain was “to stop,” which is the same language Cas uses with Dean in 10x22.
Dean explains how his parents fell in love to prove his identity to Mary in 12x1, “He was cute and he knew the words to every Zeppelin song, so when he asked you for your number, you gave it to him, even though you knew your dad would be pissed.” Later in this same season (12x19), Dean gives Cas a homemade mixtape of his favorite Zeppelin songs.
Ishim fell in love with a human named Lily Sunder who ultimately left him for someone else. When trying to recruit Castiel, he compares Dean to her.
Dean questions how much of their life has been controlled by God. Cas states, “You asked, ‘What about all of this is real?’ We are.” (15x02) Later, they find out that God has been using Eileen to spy on the Winchesters. She says, “After what happened, I don’t know what’s real anymore.” Sam kisses her, stating “I know that was real.” (15x09)

Recap: Pleasantview Round 5 (Summer)
Tumblr media
The romance of Spring certainly went to a few heads in Pleasantview - the suburb is in the midst of quite the baby boom. But now Summer is here, and school is out! Parents are scrambling to sort out childcare, teenagers are reveling in their freedom, and with the sun shining, the mood in the neighbourhood is pretty great.
But are the families as happy as they seem? Or are some on the brink of collapse? What secrets lurk in their hearts?
Tumblr media
The round began with newcomers Tiffany Sampson and Kevin Beare getting settled in. They adopted a puppy, got new jobs, and got to know the neighbours.
Tumblr media
Then as Tiffany finished her first day of work in the Education career, she learned she was already pregnant!
Tumblr media
They had a quick, slightly rushed wedding before the baby arrived.
Tumblr media
Baby Harvey was born, but it already looks like she might be expecting again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The round ended on a happy note, with the couple already nicely established as a family in town with a few friends!
Tumblr media
The Dreamer family started out just as well, but things quickly started to deteriorate.
Tumblr media
Due to a combination of bad mental health, recurring nightmares and possible haunting, Brandi Broke isn’t in a good place. Her relationship with Darren suffers for it, too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile Cassandra’s marriage with Don is falling apart, and Darren can’t help being sympathetic. Perhaps a little too much so.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mia Broke, obsessed with the paranormal, gets herself abducted by aliens, much to her mom’s dismay.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She’s also eager to discuss her theories about the spooky sounds in their yard, but Brandi shuts it down.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mia goes on a date with Benedick Monty, but it’s kind of a mixed bag.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back home, Mia and Darren eventually talk about the possible hauntings at home. He admits to her seeing Darleen’s ghost, from time to time.
Tumblr media
Brandi also opens up to Mia about her father, Skip.
Tumblr media
And Mia is vindicated to finally some ghosts herself!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I played the Lotharios next since I was interested in what was going on with Cassandra.
Tumblr media
Cassandra and Don’s relationship has had its ups and downs - neither of them has been 100% faithful, but they’re dealing with it. Maybe? Between raising the twins and focusing on their careers there hasn’t been a ton of time for marriage counselling.
Tumblr media
Don’s been feeling a bit isolated, recently. Outside of his family and his coworkers, he doesn’t really have a lot of friends. That’s been deliberate, to an extent. The fewer people around him, the fewer temptations to stray outside of the marriage.
Tumblr media
For the most part, it’s been working. But a chance meeting with Nina Caliente has him feeling… confused.
Tumblr media
The kids are doing fine, the parents not so much.
Tumblr media
She’s always in low aspiration, lately, ever since her Dad passed away. It’s been hard getting on her feet since then, and Don going on about needing “me time” doesn’t help. She needs his support right now more than ever! Why doesn’t he get that?
Tumblr media
They don’t talk about it, but both of them are feeling very alone, and starting to lose faith in each other...
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, the boys age up. Bernado’s a popularity sim and Cassimiro’s knowledge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eventually, things in the marriage finally explode and Cassandra tells Don about Darren, trying to get a rise out of him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Don immediately retaliates by woohooing with Sharon Wirth on a grocery-run.
Tumblr media
After a cool-off day, they agree to break things off, and Don moves out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He moves in, temporarily, with Bella. Who is insistant that he and Cassie try and patch things up!
Tumblr media
He’s more interested in exploring new options, though.
Tumblr media
Bella is devestated to lose her job as a party guest.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Oliver Goth (Dina and Mortimer’s son) gets his first kiss with Ariel Capp! Later he goes on a date with Tommy Ottomas, too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At one of Bella’s parties, Cassandra and Don keep things civil, but Cassandra evidently isn’t doing well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bella goes on a date with Gilbert Jacquet. It’s not really all that serious between them, and Bella still misses Mortimer dreadfully, but Gilbert is charming and handsome enough to take her mind of her worries.
Tumblr media
Things with Bella and Don also seem to be getting a little heavy, and Don concludes he needs to move out before things cross a line. Bella reluctantly agrees, it’s obvious her plan to get him and Cassie back together hasn’t worked
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Don moves to Strangetown!
Tumblr media
Next up are the Ramaswami family, a nice breath of fresh air after all the drama.
Tumblr media
Priya befriends some of the other mothers in town, becoming especially close to Kaylynn.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And baby Ravi gows into maybe the coolest toddler ever?
Tumblr media
Sanjay survives a near death experience.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Priya finds out she’s expecting again!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Divorced once and with the girls having just graduated college, Daniel Pleasant didn’t expect to be engaged again with a kid on the way as he approached retirement age, doing it all over again. He’s far from unhappy about it, though. Mary Sue always had an independent streak, but Kaylynn adores him. Maybe it’s a bit selfish, but it feels so good to be needed.
Tumblr media
Kaylynn knows some people in the neighbourhood look down on her, think her naive, call her a homewrecker… that’s fine. If they worked as a cleaner for years and years maybe they’d consider packing it in and settling into an easy life, too. What’s wrong with wanting to be taken care of?
Notably (and much to my horror) during the Pleasant round, Brandi and John start up their affair again.
Tumblr media
Kaylynn finally gives birth, to a baby boy they call Jeffery Pleasant, after Daniel’s father. Daniel’s really pleased!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jennifer’s eager to meet her new nephew. She and Kaylynn get off to a rocky start, but eventually start to bond.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She’s closest friends with Brandi Broke, though. The two have become inseperable, with Brandi visiting all the time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Daniel invites both of the girls over to meet their little brother, but Angela is the only twin who shows. Whether that’s because they have a better relationship, or because Lilith was just busy is anyone’s guess.
Tumblr media
Then it turns out Kaylynn’s pregnant again already?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kaylynn and Daniel tie the knot!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nina and Don also reconcile at the wedding.
Tumblr media
Kaylynn gives birth to another baby boy, Luke!
Tumblr media
And Jeff ages upp!
Tumblr media
Daniel ages up, too. It’s finally time for him to retire, soon...
Tumblr media
Daniel’s definitely a bit of a dirty old man, but Kaylynn doesn’t seem entirely oblivious to that side of him, and figures as long as she keeps his needs met they should be fine. We’ll see if that holds up.
Tumblr media
Then it was time to catch up with the Shoreharts, who moved here form Widespot for a fresh start.
Tumblr media
A retired chef, Sandy’s enjoying her retirement a lot more than she ever enjoyed being a stay at home mom. Granted, all this free time has her a little restless, but it’s nothing a bit of time outdoors and excercise can’t fix. She hopes.
Tumblr media
They were honestly pretty chill! Rhett’s taken to the whole marriage thing suprisingly well, for a romance sim. Turns out, as long as he’s getting lovin’ on a regular basis he doesn’t really care if it’s with one woman or several. It’s never boring with Sandy, and he intends to keep her as happy as he can for the rest of her days. That’ll show her shit-heel of an ex-husband.
Tumblr media
Mostly they just spend a lot of time with family.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sandy’s very generious with the backrubs, but nothing goes too far.
Tumblr media
Mimi is definitely at least a little anxious about her parents’ marriage though, because she spends some of the round reading up on Couple’s Councelling.
Tumblr media
Then it’s time for her to age up! She grows into a rather cute romance sim.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then at the party the house of cards starts to crumble, as Sandy gives her ex-husband Hamilton a kiss, right in front of Mimi and Rocky.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mimi agrees not to tell her Dad, but isn’t happy. She spends a lot of time out of the house.
Tumblr media
With Sandy keeping her indescretion quiet, I’m not sure what they have in store in the future!
Tumblr media
Regardless, next are the Ramirez family.
Tumblr media
Tessa’s spent a lot of time looking afte rthe baby and she’s sick of it! So she spends some time Downtown with friends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She later takes Bernardo on a date, although he’s not sure if he likes her as more than a friend. Bernardo likes the idea of falling in love with Tessa, who he’s always admired! But he’s a little hesitant at the same time, especially with his parents’ divorce still being so recent.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Checo has a bit of a wandering eye, but mostly he keeps himself in check.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Checo might be a bit of a flirt, but at least he’s not a hypocrite. When Lisa was dancing with Skye he didn’t even bat an eye. Or maybe he just doesn’t see an old man as much of a threat…
Tumblr media
Ugh, God, I forgot this happened
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Baby Sofia grew up super cute!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, that’s all from them!
Tumblr media
The Oldies weren’t too eventful, mostly just focused on hobbies!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They did finally meet Mary’Sue’s new partner, which went... poorly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But they did have a nice meeting with their grandaughter later, and a fun night out!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then it was the Burbs! John’s recent indescretions with Brandi aside, things seemed to be going well.
Tumblr media
At least, until he made out with Coral Oldie :/
Tumblr media
Oblivious to thins, Jennifer was starting to trust John again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They had dinner with Jen’s brother Dan and his new wife...
Tumblr media
And Jennifer discovered she was pregnant again!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lucy headed away for college...
Tumblr media
And baby James grew up, leaving the Burb round complete and Pleasantview all done & dusted!

Let's Talk About Euphoria 2x08
1. Lexi's play - I agree that it's kinda fucked up. Tbh, as a writer with crazy friends and family that say and do fucked up shit, it's something I desperately also fantasize about doing, but I would never have the balls to do what Lexi did and put on a play that's so obviously about the people in my life. Most writers DO do this kind of thing, though. Usually, it's in book form and called "an autobiography" OR they change the characters' names, careers, lives, etc, just enough to fit a different world/situation and it's subtext. Lexi went full scorched earth and I respect her for that, but also I think a lot of that play had to be seen by the people it was about.
Rue, for one, who (as far as I can see) only really saw herself as a shitty person deserving of shitty things. She thought she deserved all the bad things that happened to her because she honestly made some shitty decisions due to her addiction. She and Lexi were best friends and super close and were there for each other through losing their respective dads. And then Rue tells Lexi "I know he wakes up every morning thinking 'I'm gonna do better today for her'" and that's because he only wants to do better for her and not for himself, which is the issue. But then she sees Lexi's play, which is through a sympathetic eye, and is like, wow, I'm not actually a shitty person. My shitty actions don't make me a shitty person. She sees the people who care about her and want to support her, especially Lexi, who she's treated like absolute garbage in the past just for wanting to help her. Rue watches this play and sees how she let her grief over her dad's death pretty much control her life about as much as her addiction and because she's in a good place when she sees the play, she understands that it wasn't done to be malicious.
Cassie, on the other hand, is a cunt. I share a name with the bitch (and I hate it) but I am way closer to being a Lexi (again, I could never do the play). She makes shitty decisions, without the influence of drugs, and then when she gets called out for those SHITTY DECISIONS, she cries "woe is me" and defends herself even though she knows what she's doing is 100% wrong. I think a lot of the reason she's like this is because she was favored by both Suze and her father growing up. I LOVE Suze, okay, but you could see that she had a closer bond to Cassie in season one. This season, she's just now realizing that all the shit Cassie went through, and being coddled through it, is probably what fucked her up and now they're dealing with the consequences. And, as somebody who has a pretty mean, vindictive, attention-seeking sister (whom I love, don't get me wrong), you learn to be quiet and keep things inside until you really can't anymore. There's a breaking point. And we can also see throughout season 1 and early season 2, Lexi is consistently checking in on Cassie and Cassie responds with insults. That is probably a lot of their dynamic and it's something I recognize from my relationship with my own sister.
Also, for the most part, people who didn't know the group have NO IDEA that this play is about actual real people. Suze notwithstanding (I love her reactions to Ethan playing her btw bc my mom would NOT love it if something similar happened to her). They don't seem to realize it until the thing with Cassie stomping up on stage because her beloved Nate broke up with her.
Nate deserved it. Period. Hopefully, he comes to terms with his sexuality now, especially after confronting Cal. Honestly, though, I hope he's the next one to go to prison for the shit he did. I hope Maddy finds it in herself to air out his dirty laundry.
Also HUGE PROPS to the teenage boys in that scene who will have to go back to school Monday after acting out a locker room orgy scene in front of their peers. I know it's SoCal, but still. Balls of steel.
One more thing about Lexi's play before we move on: Suze STEPPED UP for her younger daughter. She saw what Cassie was doing and was on that stage in seconds to stop her. I want to say it's something my own mother would do in a similar situation, but I honestly don't know that she would. She's been calling Cassie on a lot of her BS this season, but defending Lexi at that moment was a great mom move.
2. Fezco and Ashtray - I am so fucking upset. That's it. I just...why. WHY SAM?!?! I just...did you have to kill the only actual child on the show?? I understand that Ashtray has impulse control issues and he tends to solve things with outright murder (he's, like, 10 in the show right?) but I feel like he would have acted more smartly in this instance. Why would you kill somebody in your own home when you're already aware that the cops are looking pretty closely? That was stupid. Ash would have definitely known better. And then to outright commit su!cide by cop...? I get he thought he was protecting Fez, but he just made his entire life worse. Fez loved Ash like a little brother and protected him since he was a baby and now he's just...gone, leaving a whole mess in his wake.
I wonder if they're going to have a trial for Fez next season. He'll have the 2 murder charges and a lot of drug charges, but they don't really have any visuals, so they can't really prove anything and their only witness is now dead (I don't think Faye will be any help to anybody, because she'll 1000% lie for Fez now). Faye may be in trouble for naming Laurie on the wire. I could see Laurie making her disappear before she has to take the stand. Also, would Fez name Ash as the person who killed both Mouse and Custer? If he was alive, I'd say no, but even now that he's dead, I think he'd feel some type of way about selling out his baby brother. Idk. This entire thing just makes me so sad. Either way, I hope Fez turns out okay and gets to see Lexi again. He's never going to be the same, though.
3. Rue - I know this series started with Rue dealing with life as a drug addict, but I sincerely hope she's going to stay sober. I'm sad that it's implied she and Jules are no longer going to be together, but honestly it's probably for the best. Jules, lately, was her biggest trigger, and that would seriously jeopardize her sobriety. I hope they remain friends and that their group stays together. I'm glad that Rue is actually taking the steps to do better. As stated above, I think Lexi's play may have helped with this a lot with Rue finally taking a good at herself, both how she used to be and how she changed. I think her reclaiming her friendship with Lexi will be super important in the next season. i want them to get closer and for Rue to stand up to Cassie for her. Honestly I want some of Rue's meanness to come out against Cassie because she can be so brutal when she wants to be (like outing Cassie to Maddy) and Cassie deserves to be taken down, especially for comments like "why would you believe her? she's a DRUG ADDICT" like??? and???? you're a fucking backstabbing cunt. One's a disease and the other is literal selfish betrayal.
Also, we have no idea what's going on with Laurie and that scares the crap out of me. I was fully expecting somebody to grab Rue toward the end of that episode and for there to be a major cliffhanger, but I'm really happy that didn't happen. Still, I know that wasn't the last we saw of Laurie. She will be back and Rue's life will probably be in danger, but that's a 2023/2024 issue that I'd rather not dwell on until then.
All in all, I like this show a lot more than I thought I did. I took my time to get around to it (mainly bc I didn't want to pay for HBOMax, but eh, might as well) and honestly, please give Zendaya an Oscar. Not an Emmy, but a full out Oscar (not that an Emmy is a lesser award, but she's been consistently great in every role she does, which deserves an Oscar just because, as WELL as several Emmies. And a Tony. Hell, throw in a Grammy). She is fantastic. I've been watching her career since Shake it Up and I love her in everything she does.
Aside: Do not associate me with that cunt just because my name is Cassie. I am nothing like that bitch. Sydney Sweeney is amazing, though.

Hallo - Thank you so dang much for the kind as heck words. They really did make my day <3
I'd love to hear more about your Taker and Shawn's children OCs - Just any little thoughts you have about them
My mental mind map when thinking about the characters looks like this *sorry if it's confusing I'll gladly expand if needed*
I think about Leon and Cassidy a lot so I'll gladly talk some more about them. I often like to think about what they'll do when they grow, if they will become wrestlers or go into their own careers or atleast get a degree before becoming wrestlers.
Which I have a small idea. Leon would mostly do something with History and Cassidy would do something with psychotherapy. And if they did become wrestlers Leon would be dark and brooding like Taker but 100% have shawns wrestling style whilst Cassie would be like Shawn but had Takers style. Which I find funny and cute.
Leon is the oldest by 5 years. And is also close to the darkside, important note, cassidy is not.
I mention this because I don't want people thinking they both are.
Leon gets a scar across his nose when he turns 16 and this is because of Paul. Paul sees something powerful hidden in Leon and when Leon's at the arena, lures him away and tries to sacrifice him, like he did to taker, and fails as Leon is a lot more quicker then he expected and Paul ends up cutting his nose open. Which gives Leon a lot of stitches and protective parents hovering over him.
Cassidy is a lot louder and full of more emotions then Leon (which some believe is because Shawn got to her first) she will gladly defend her quiet brother, which he hates but he is always the one to jump to her protection when she's in danger.
Leon didn't say his first word until he was 10. Which was because of undertaker, which yes bothers Shawn because he's the one who sat there with the cards and would try teaching the boy to speak. Undertaker had died again and Shawn had been getting visits from a lot of fake Takers. It's not until the real taker turns up and Leon looks at him and says Daddy that Shawn can allow the man into the house. (Yes I imagine Taker having the vampire thing where they can't walk into houses they aren't welcomed in)
Cassidy loves adopting wild creatures from the valley which isn't safe but once taker realises they don't ever have the intentions of hurting cassidy, just everyone else, it relaxs him but concerns him. It's also how she gets the name Bug as her first creature was a weird mutated bug and it's the only one she's ever kept.
Leon being the oldest and born in 2000 he would of experienced 2 of takers death in his life. Cassidy was born during the second one, meaning for the first time taker wasn't around for his child's birth or growth. Leon would of been 5 and he couldn't help but feel confusion at what he was watching. Why his Papa (shawn) was crying and screaming as Uncle Hunter and Grandpa Vince held him back and tried comforting him whilst Auntie Stephanie held his new baby sister. When Cena was trying to distract him from what was going on. It would not be until they got back to the hotel that Leon understood, he got a visit from his dead father who explained everything. Leon never saw him again until he was resurrected.
Leon keeps his hair short but long enough that his bangs can inclose around his face as he sees it as a security blanket. Cassidy loves having long hair, especially bangs. But when she needs security she doesn't hide behind it, she'll run her hand through it, play with it, just like her fathers.
They once got into the dx supplies when Hunter was babysitting. Let's say Shawn and Taker came back to a green locker room with all three covered in green paint. Hunter and cassidy found it funny, Leon didn't look amused at all.
Leon is 100% a clean freak whilst Cassidy loves to get dirty.
I have more but I'll stop here. I hope you enjoyed and feel free to drop a ask anytime you like :)
